Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hash the beat Map Guide your Dallas music companion. Hey there,
music lovers, beat Map here your eyes and ears on
the ground in Dallas. I've been weaving through this city's
sonic tapestry for years, from sweaty underground shows to majestic
concert halls. There's something magical about discovering that perfect song
and a venue you've never been to before. Right, That's
(00:20):
what keeps me hunting for the next great sound in
this vibrant city. Let me tell you, this week is
absolutely buzzing with live music options. With summer heating up,
Dallas's music scene is absolutely on fire. I've got my
calendar marked up like a road map, and I'm excited
to share my route with you. First up, if you're
looking for something to do tonight June third, you've got
(00:42):
to check out the Lakefront Live Concert at the Bathhouse
Cultural Center. The South African Heritage Ensemble is playing at
seven thirty pm, and the best part, it's completely free.
I love this venue because you can sit up close
or bring a blanket and picnic on the lawn while
enjoying the sunset over White Rock Lake. The city skyline
view is unbeatable, and the music is always top notch.
(01:04):
These concerts happen every other Tuesday, and this particular series
runs through May, so we're catching one of the last
shows of the season. For Thursday, June fifth, My pick
of the week is definitely the Cool Thursday's Concert at
the Dallas Arboretum. This is Dallas's most scenic concert series
and they're celebrating their twenty eighth year. Gates open at
six pm, giving you plenty of time to stroll through
the gardens before the show. I recommend pre ordering food
(01:27):
from either Vestel's Catering Order by Tuesday at one pm
or Gill's Elegant Catering Order by Thursday at two thirty pm.
You can bring your own alcohol for a small corkage fee,
and trust me, sipping a glass of wine while watching
the sunset over White Rock Lake as the music plays
is pure magic. This Sunday, June eighth, i'llbe at the
(01:47):
Dallas Farmer's Market for their monthly open mic Night. It
runs from two six pm inside the market at nine
to twenty South Harwood Street with Jana Wilson as the MC.
What I love about this event is the show variety.
You'll hear everything from acoustic musicians, to poets to comedians.
If you're feeling brave, Registration to perform opens at one
(02:08):
thirty pm. Each performer gets five minutes, and it's always
a blast discovering new local talent. I found some of
my favorite Dallas artists this way. Speaking of local musicians,
I'm currently obsessed with Louise Parker. She's not playing in
Dallas this week. She'll be in Southampton on June seventeenth,
but keep an eye out for her future shows. Her
blend of country and folk is absolutely mesmerizing, and her
(02:31):
live performances have this raw emotional quality that recordings just
can't capture for those into harder sounds, I'm counting down
the days until Bring Me the Horizon hits American Airlines
Center on September twenty seventh. Their show balances heavy anthems
with emotional depth, and the energy is going to be insane.
Another big one to mark on your calendars is Dua Lipa,
(02:53):
who's bringing her dance pop extravaganza to Dallas for two
nights later this year. My weekly music routine always includes
stop at the Echo Lounge and Music Hall at least once.
They consistently book amazing Indian alternative acts, and the intimate
setting means you're never far from the stage. The sound
quality is excellent and they've got a solid bar selection too.
(03:13):
Keep an eye on their twenty twenty five event schedule.
They're constantly adding new shows. I'm also getting my festival
strategy in order for the summer. While there aren't any
major festivals happening this specific week, I'm planning my schedule
around several upcoming events. The key is to identify which
stages have overlapping sets so you can maximize the number
of artists you see. I always bring a portable phone charger,
(03:36):
comfortable shoes, and a refillable water bottle. Festival veteran tips. Now,
let me share one of my secret spots with you.
The Bathhouse Cultural Center's Lake Level Stage is this semi
enclosed indoor outdoor performance space that not enough people know about.
It's perfect for those summer evenings when you want to
enjoy music but also be able to see the stars.
(03:58):
Their Lakefront Live series showcase is a wonderfully eclectic mix
of performers. When I'm looking for last minute shows, I
