it pertains to living right. We'llbe talking to you again about a continued
chune mattering title Walking in the Spirit, Cultivating the Food of the Spirit time,
and that we're gonna deal with thelast three and that it is faith,
that is meekness, and that istemperate. And I really believe that
(01:29):
we'll get it taken care of,so that we would have completed an entire
series of teaching on walking in theSpirit and cultivating the Food of the Walking
in the Spirit, cultivating the Fruitof the Spirit. Praise the name of
the Lord. As we examine allof these nine fruit, we recognize that
you know, they're all vitally importantin our life, and as a result
of it, we got to makesure that we get where we need to
(01:51):
be so that there could be evidenceof anyone of your treat and then we'll
be blessed by so anybody eating anythingfrom my tree, I wanted to always
enjoy love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness and faith,
meekness and temperance. Let me tellyou something, when they taste those
things from my tree, I wantedto say, Mmmm, that's good stuff.
(02:13):
Good stuff. He's been walking withGod, he's been nurturing, he's
been cultivating, he's been doing thethings that needs to be done. And
I'll challenge you tonight to do thevery same thing, because it's vitally important
that it's this day and hour thatwe do see people whose lights are shining.
Jesus is delight. We are thelight. Come on out, Jesus,
the light of the world. We'resupposed to be shining, so that
(02:34):
others can see the light on theinside of us. So over sac Ativioty
the third chapter, the sixteenth throughthe seventeenth verse, the Scripture says,
all scripture is given by inspiration ofGod, and it's profitable for doctrine,
for reproof or correction, for instructionsin righteousness, that the man or woman,
that the Man of God may beperfect thoroughly furnished unto all good work.
(02:58):
I say this every time I havea broadcast. We want to be
definitely, we want to be matured, we want to be perfected, we
want to be thoroughly furnished unto allgood works. And I'll tell you everybody
is not walking that way, becausea lot of people are walking away from
the word of God. Anytime youwalk away from what the word of the
Lord is saying, which is saying, I'm walking in rebellion, I'm walking
against it. And God didn't wantyou to walk against it. He wants
(03:20):
you to walk together with him.And with three and three says, can
two walk together except they be agreed. Where there is unity, there is
strength, there is power. Wherethere's unity, that's with the ability for
God to actually do the great thingsthat he wants to do in the earth.
So over in proper it's the fourthchapter, starting with the seventh verse.
(03:43):
I'll go there right quickly. Itsays, wisdom is the principal thing.
Therefore, get with him and withall thy getting, and get understanding.
That means that we have a responsibilityto get understanding concerning free element of
the instructions of our God. Theword God has been put into a place
(04:06):
that we'll be able to always goback in and make sure that we can
nurture, nurture our relationships, growingGod, growing grace, growing His words,
so that our minds can be reneweddaily and we're able to actually win
in our everyday lifestyle. So againtonight we're talking about walking in the spirit,
(04:26):
cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. We've been dealing with a bunch of
the fruits of the we've been dealingwithout all nine, but we've been dealing
with almost six of them. Andto not be going to try to kind
of a crash course because we knowthat next week is going to be Christmas
Day and on the next week isgoing to be New Year's Day, So

(05:51):

the jump into the Word of Godand iglatious. The fifth chapter struggle with
verse number six teen is as this, I say, then walk in the
spirit, and he shall not fulfillthe lust of the flesh tells you give
you a command to walk in thespirit. You will not fulfill of the
(06:14):
flesh. Notice it did not saycoral the flesh and then try to walk.
No, it gives you the instructionsof walking first in the spirit,
and you will not fulfill the lussto the first. Why because the flesh
lusters against the spirit, and thespirit against the flesh, and these are
contrary the one to the other,so that you cannot do the things that
(06:35):
you would. But first eighteen said, but if you be led of the
spirit, you are not under thelaw. And when I jumped down because
verse nineteen it lists all the worksof the flesh, which I'm not focusing
on tonight because that's another teaching someother time later down the road. But
on verse twenty two it says, but the fruit of the spirit is love,
(06:57):
joy, He's long suffering to thisgoodness, faith, meetness, temperance
against us, there is no law. And they that are christ have crucified
the flesh with the affections and thelove that means with the nerves that go
with all of those things that tryto agitate your spirit, your flesh to
(07:17):
get you to a place to walkagainst the will of the Father. Verse
twenty five says its so perfectly says, if you live in the spirit,
let us also walk in the spirit. Why because God wants each of his
children to produce fruit. The foodof the spirit is so much better than
(07:38):
the flesh. I like this becauseyou know the Word of the Lord teaches
us that the list of the righteouswill feed, meaning, so tonight I
want to be able to feed you, feed you, feed you the word
of God, so that you'll beable to grab hold of everything that we're
talking about. The word fruit isvery important there are There is not fruit
without a seed, and fruit isa result of a sea. And we
(08:00):
always said that each seed produces afterits own kind. And I want you
to understand that God's divine seed cameinto our spirit. By that of the
Holy Spirit. We received the spiritualdeposits the minute that we call Jesus Lord
of our life. And that seedwas planning in us was the life of
God. That's words, the Dnaof God and the power of God just
(08:24):
waiting to produce in our lives. Now, if we yield to it,
we will we will begin to producesupernatural fruits in our lives. That fruits,
supernatural fruit in our lives will giveus the edge to win, and
will give us to edge to winall the time, because every time we
begin to examine the word of God, we can begin to look at our
(08:45):
own self to make sure that weare line in our behavior, just as
God would have us to line ourbehavior. Now we dealt with I think
goodness and kindness. Well, goodnesswas my last one that I did.
My daughter did I think kindness andsuffering. But we are now going to
jump into faith, the food andfaith. The food and faith. Now,
(09:05):
the moment you received Jesus your favorby faith, God showed his spirit
and word into your heart like thesea. And like we said earlier,
just like apples always produce apples andoranges always produce oranges, God sees inside
of you began to immediately produce GodMy character on the inside of the minute
(09:26):
that I became born again, Ibegan to develop the character of God on
the inside. But that character isnot going to be stirred developed until I
cultivated. That means I got togo back and do some things myself.
God gives it to us, buthe expects for us to stir those things
up so that we're able to seethe increase. Remember, he gives you
(09:48):
a seed of faith. You gotfaith the size of a mustard seed.
But it's going to be left upto you to really field your faith.
Build that faith, leubl. It'sjust like it's with the faith level's with
the rest of them. A nonfoul of the spirit, Praise the Lord.
Therefore, you should expect your lifeto give the fruits of the spirit.
For that. This is the seedof God has grown that was sown
(10:09):
in your heart. And I amso grateful to God that I'm seeing the
seed being grown and sown in myheart. Let me tell y'all something.
Last week I was just worn outbecause, man, let me tell you
something. Will teaching on goodness andtalk about doing kind and to being gracious
to people. I gave away somuch to but I praised the Lord every
opportunity that the Holy Spirit spoke tome to be a blessing. I was
(10:33):
a blessing as much as I rememberglory to God. But I thank God
for the teaching because it reminded methat, you know, you got to
do more. You got to domore than just be a belief. You
got to really develop that fruit. You know, my mom always say love
is what it does. Ain't doingnothing. Your love is not being activated
the way that it needs to beactivated. So tonight we're gonna jump into
(10:54):
sea, and tonight we're gonna goback and read Relations and filthref for the
twenty second between third verse. I'mreading for the New Kings James Burgess.
But the fruit of the spirit islove, joy, peace, long suffering,
kindness, goodness, faithful man, gentleness, self control. Against such
there is no law now. Theword faith is the Greek word pissed us,
(11:16):
which is the common New Testament wordfor faith. However, in this
verse it conveys the idea of aperson who is faithful, liable, loyal,
and stead faiths that you can beginto measure yourself right now just by
those for work. Are you faithful? Are you reliable? Are your loyal
(11:37):
are your death as it pictures aperson who is devoted, trustworthy, dependable,
dedicated, constant and on wavering.Let me tell you something about faith.
You gotta be single minded when itcomes to the things of faith.
You know you can't be double minded. You got to make sure that you
(11:58):
know. If any man has anydoubt, he'll be just like to see,
he would never be able to getanything from God. According to James
Pistole, we want to make surethat we are not being unstable, but
we are stable. We are unwaivered. Amen. This, of course,
is controverted the flesh, which seeksto be lazy, uncommitted, undependable,
(12:20):
and completely unreliable, out of control. I'll say it that way now.
When Paul wrote to Timothy and toldhim how to choose leaders, he urged
Timothy to choose faithful men. Thisis also the word pistols, which tells
us that it is mandatory for thisfruit of the spirit to be found in
(12:41):
your leadership. Let me tell yousomething. You can't find that the fruit
of faithfulness in your leadership. Theydon't need to be leaded. I really
believe that every pastor, every CEOneeds to always go back and readjust and
reevaluate to make sure that they're ableto see exactly where their people really are
raised. In fact, it isalso used by Paul in First Corinthians,
(13:05):
the fourth chapter, the second verse, where he writes, he says,
moreover, it is required. Itis required that a man be found devoted,
trustworthy, dependable, dedicated, constant, and unwavery. This is really
Paul talks about being a faithful stewardhere, and you got to understand that.
You know, there must be amoment where you get to the place
(13:28):
where you are trustworthy, you're dependable, you're de dedicated, you're constant,
you're unwavering. Over at Matthew thetwenty fifth chapter, the fourteenth through the
fifteenth verse, the Word of theLord reads for the Kingdom of Heaven is
as a man traveling into a farcountry who called his own service and delivered
(13:48):
unto them his goods, and untoone, he gave five talents to another,
two until another one to every manaccording to his stabboral ability, and
straightway took his journey, and straightwaytook his journey. But they had to
be faithful. They had to befaithful over that which God had given them
(14:09):
praise God. Now I want tojump right on into this again, because
the faith or faithfulness of this faithor faithfulness is so esteemed by God that
it is listed in one Corinthias thirteenthirteen, where power rights and now with
by the faith, hope, charity. For this is where I theme about
church come from a God the InternationalMinistry. This is this fruit of the
(14:31):
spirit is a part of the eternalnature of God. The Bible stresses that
God is faithful and early and utterlydependable. You can always defend on God
because he's always right on time.Remember come when you wanted, but he
always comes right on top. Numbersto twenty third chapter the nineteen verse.
(14:52):
It reads and says God is nota man that he should lie, neither
the son of man, that heshould change his mind, or that he
should repent. He is the sameyesterday, today and forevermore. And we
much recognize that because he is thesame yesterday today as forevermore, that he
(15:16):
is faithful, true to his word. He's unchanging. Glory to God.
If this unchanging, stable, unwaveringbehavior is the nature of God himself,
it shouldn't surprise us that when theHoly Spirit is allowed to freely work through
our lives. He makes us faithfuland stepfast, just like God. But
(15:39):
we have to what get in agreementwith what the Holy Spirit is doing.
Now. God is faithful. Thereforewe should expect faithfulness to grow in our
lives as one of the fruits ofthe spirit. One of the fruit of
the spirit, faithfulness is stepfast, constancy, or a lead. It is
(16:00):
a carefulness in keeping what we areentrusted with. It is the condition that
the scriptures are accurately reflective reality, and it's a biblical Faithfulness requires belief in
what the Bible says about God andhis existence, his work, and his
character. Faithfulness, what is thefruit of is one of the fruit of
(16:21):
the spirits. It is the resultof the Spirit working in us. But
the Spirit is also our fill offaithfulness. He is our witness to God's
promised that if we accept the truthabout God, he will deliver our sais,
and we accept the truth about God, he will deliver However, Hebrews
(16:41):
eleven, it gives a long listof faithful men and women in the Old
Testament who trusted God with all oftheir heart, and God talks about Able's
understanding of God made his sacrifice reallyinauthentic. Noah trusted in God when God
told him of the coming judgment,as well as God promise to save his
family. He built enough because therain was coming. Nobody believe in the
(17:04):
rain because nobody had never heard ofrain. But when you hear from God,
you have to move by faith toreceive that which God is saying that
is going to happen. Not onlythat, but you know, talking about
Abraham and Sarah, they believe againstall evidence that they would have a child,
and they end up having a child. Although there are ends up trying
(17:25):
to help God out with that wholescenarios and kind of mess the things up.
But God made good on his promise, even the rehab. She trusted
God to protect her family. Withthe years from might destroyed Jericho over in
Joshua with the sixth chapter. Nowlet me say this to you. In
that list it he rules eleven isexamples of Enoch who obtained a witness that
(17:47):
before his being taken up, hewant was pleasing to God, and the
scripture says, and without faith,it's impossible to please him. For he
who lost to God must believe thathe is and that he is a reward
of those who diligently. Think ifI wonder, do we have any diligence
(18:08):
seekers out there tonight. I'm adiligent seeker of the Lord. Let me
tell you something I've learned, howto get out of my get out of
my own way and allow God tojust leave me. You know, there's
a scripture of in Proverbs in theirchapters just trust in the Lord, starting
to feel versus trust in the Lordwith all that heart and lean not to
thine own understanding. I would justlike to say, when you walking by
(18:29):
faith and you develop it the throughthe faith, you got to get your
heads face cleared with the word ofGod. In fact, your mind must
be renewed because the realities of whatyou're seeing sometimes does not always agree with
what God is saying. But weknow that we got to get in an
agreement what He is saying in orderfor us to see it. Praise the
Lord. Because we get in agreementwith what He's saying, we will see
(18:52):
it. That's that's the reason whyyou always tell us we walk by faith
and not by sight. We walkby faith and not by sight. The
faith or faithful commitment to who God, to who God says he is is
basic, is the basic to willingto walk with God, regardless of the
(19:12):
circumstance of the situation. As Jesustraveling, he responded to people's faith,
and he can tell his involvement wherethere was no faith. In other words,
when he recognized whether people were notoperating faith, he was like,
okay, only though that you don'tbelieve they're going to be the ones that
are going to get the blessings. For those who are not believers is going
to be very difficult for them toreceive. I'm gonna read over in his
(19:36):
example in Mark the sixth chapter, because it's a very good example of that.
I'm going to start at the veryfirst verses. And he went out
from thence and came into his owncountry, and his disciples followed him.
And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue,
and many hearing him were a stunningsin from him? From which had
this man these things? And whatwisdom is this which is given unto him,
(20:00):
that even such mighty works are roughby his hand? It's not this
the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joseph
and Judah and Simon, and arenot his sisters hit with us, and
they were offended by him. ButJesus said, un to them, a
prophet is not without honor. Younoticed that, Lord, he was trying
(20:22):
to even stir it up that unbelieved. But Jesus came back and said,
unto them, a prophet is notwithout honor, but in his own country,
and among his own kin, andin his own house. My goodness,
that preaches all by himself, Andhe could there do no mighty work.
Say that he laid his hands upona few sick folks and healed it,
and he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went around, and
(20:47):
he went round about the village's teaching. So he was only able to really
left those individuals who had faith inGod, not faith in him, but
faith in God. I get itback to Edith, because in it was
one who actually he obtained the witnessthat before he was taken up he wanted
(21:08):
to please God, and everything thathe did in it understood that God reward
those fools stick him and trust himwith all their heart. So we must
trust what God does because we trusthim, not the other way around.
In other words, we trust Godeven the wind. He decided, and
(21:29):
we see no miracles. We don'tsee absolute anything, because one of the
things that we got to understand isthat is guilt of faithfulness on our part.
We have to stay in faith. We know God is reliable, we
know that he is stead fast, and we know that he is true.
Outset again, God is reliable,He is steadfast, and he definitely is
true to his words. Now overin the Old Testament, saints also had
(21:53):
faith in the invisible work of God. Over and he Brews eleven chapters to
third verse. Abraham never saw hisdescendants become as numerous as the stars in
the sky, remembering that God saidhis family would he would have such a
great family, It will be somany stars that he wouldn't be able to
even number them. Moses never enteredthe Promised Man, and none of the
(22:15):
Old Testament says lived to see themMessiah, Lord, the Messiah. But
they were faithful. They believed Godwould do as he promises to, not
just asking him. Do you believethat God is gonna do as he promised?
Do you believe that God is goingto do exactly what he said he
would do? Because once you getinto that place of believing, your faith
(22:37):
is strong. But when you dothe opposite, the belief that mes that
fear sets in the Bible teaches usthat God has not given us us fear
of fear, but power, love, and of a sound mind. The
faithfulness is believing that God is whohe said he is and continuing in that
belief and fight whatever is going onin your life. So functionally, that
(23:04):
means we trust God's word. Wetrust what he says in the Bible,
and not necessary what the world orour own eyes are telling us, because
we're gonna always see the opposite andguess what. The enemy's gonna always remind
you what's not working. But yougot to understand that the word of God,
it still works. So we musttrust He will work out everything for
(23:26):
our good. We must trust thatHe will work his will in us.
And we must trust that our situationis not to ever be compared to our
future, because God will always turnthings around for those who stay over into
that rim of faith. Now,the only way we can have such faith
is by the Holy Spirit's influence. He testifies to the truth and impels us
(23:48):
to seek God the more and moreand the spirit makes us faithful. But
guess what we have to desire togrow in our faith by building our faith
with the Word of God, buildingour faith with confession, building our faith
by making abilities in our hearts. To the Lord, there are a lot
of things that you can do.Carry down strongholds, all those areas that
(24:10):
will try to stop you from reallywalking into what God has promised you.
Let me tell you something. Yougot to feel your faith and starve your
doubts. Lord and God, highlylujah, hollylujah. Well, the next one
of the fruit that we would examineis the fruit of meekness. Few people
think of meekness as a desirable attribute, but most assume that if a person
(24:33):
is meet he must be weak. And that's interesting. If you meet,
you must be weak. Not so, says the Lord to these people.
A meet person is one who ispimid, shy, bashful, or perhaps
introverted. But this is grossly incorrect. View of the New Testament word for
meekness and actuality. Meekness is oneof the strongest attributes a person can poss.
(25:00):
The word meekenents in Galations the fifthchapter, the twenty third verse comes
from the Big word braid us,which depicts the attitude or deminion of a
person who is forbearing, patient andslow to responding and glow rey to gun.
I've said one more time. Itdepicts the attitude or demeanor of a
(25:22):
person who is forbearing, patient andslow to respond in anger and pictures a
strong willed person who has learned tosubmit his will to a higher authority.
And that's a big issue because alot of people cannot submit to any authority.
Now, he is in the weak, he is controlled. He may
(25:42):
in fact possess a strong will anda powerful character, but this person has
learned the secret of how to bringhis will under control. Now I ask
that question because you know, welive in a den our people. If
don't like for people to give himor this, we live in a dead
our. People don't like to tellthem what to do. We live in
(26:02):
a then our people will rub youthe wrong way in a minute. And
if you're not careful, it's easilyto be what we call quick tempered and
loose tongue and say things that youknow to get them off of you and
make sure that they understand that you'renot a pushold here. That's not what
God is saying. He's saying ameet spirit is a person who's the meaning
(26:23):
of person who is forbearing patience andslow to respond in anger. Oh my,
say what this word is working us? Is working us over because work
is telling us is we got alit lot of work to complete. We
got a lot of work to complete. As the Holy Spirit is, they're
(26:44):
waiting to produce after his own time. So we're gonna look at it again
because me, this has to dowith the attitude or the demeaning of a
person who can control his temper orhis emotions produced in you by the Holy
Ghost. It will make you carefuland controller to tell you the minute,
(27:04):
be quiet, don't say nothing.Boy, I tell you I had experiences
over the weekend, and I tellyou someone had done something that I had
not forgotten. I forgiven them, but the minute I saw them, it
brought it back to my attention. And boy, let me tell you something.
I just wanted to just go offthe opposite way, but the Holy
(27:25):
Spirit would not allowed me too.The person began to speak, and they
began a conversation. They intentionally hada conversation. And I guess they're going
to see if going to be speakgoing back to them. But guess what,
I was very cordial. I couldhave said, I don't want to
speak to you, I don't wantto deal with you because of what happened.
But the reality is Holy Spirit hadto have the conversation with them.
(27:48):
As we were walking into a building, I was like, Oh, my
goodness, the Holy Spirit is atwork doing what he needs to do,
because this was something that really broughtme the wrong way. That hasn't been
saying years ago, but it justbrought it all The flesh just brought the
enemy, brought it all back asif it had just happened. I'm just
letting you know that you gotta alwaysgo back over the word of God.
(28:11):
You gotta go. You gotta alwaysgo back and make sure that you are
are rehearsing the word of God inyour spirit, because if you don't,
it is so easily to respond inyour flesh. It is very easy to
respond in your flesh. Now,meetus again does not mean that you.
Rather, it involves humility and thankfulnesstoward God. It's politess restrained behavior toward
(28:36):
other people. And the opposite ofgentleness is the opposites of gentleness or meekness
or anger, or desire for revengeor stuff or arrangements that you can go
back and get, you know, get get get back at people. And
that's not the way that God wantsit to be. It takes a strong
(28:57):
person to be truly gentle. AndI want you to understand that we have
to practice this. We have topractice and we have to be reminded all
the time, all the time, all the time. Do God want us
to to give him control of ourlives relying on not on our logic,
but not on our reason, Butwe want to be not on the Holy
(29:18):
spirits leading and with the wisdom giveit to us by the Holy Spirit.
We begin to see why we shouldcompletely submit to God as the lord of
our lives. And I'm gonna tellyou something. When you do that every
time, it just takes you higherand higher and higher and higher. And
let me tell you something. Asyou get more into the work, concern
(29:38):
that Howya're supposed to be walking,Howya's supposed to be living? Yes,
what's gonna happen? You are goingto be challenged. When I say you're
going to be challenged, You're goingto be challenged all of the time.
So we gotta make up in ourmind are we gonna cultivate the fruit or
are we gonna just allow our fleshto just lead us and guide us and
(30:02):
get us in trouble. I don'twant to get in trouble, no more
than when I have to get introuble, to go before the Lord and
say, Lord, forgive me fornot responding the way I was supposed to
respond. But even as I'm givenanother opportunity, guess what, I must
pass the test. And you willtake the test over and over and over
again, and you'll take the test, do a series of people. You'll
be surprised of the people that Godwill sing you with. Can you really
(30:26):
get it? Get it, getit, get it, get it,
get it, get it, getit, get it. So I may
up in my mind that I don'twant retakes. So I'm going to try
to do my very best to beconstilance of the fact of how I roll
with people, with God's people, even with the people of the world,
because they need to see Christ inus so that they will want what we
have. Raise the name of theLord, gloridly God. So that is
(30:49):
the area of a meekness. Meeknesshas to do with your attitude or your
demeanor. Of a person who cancontrol his temper glory to God. Now
let's look at the word diemference. The word temperance comes from the Greek word
in and cratos. The word inmeans in and the word craytos, and
(31:11):
the Greek word is power when youcombine. When combining into one word,
these two Greek words form the wordsat crazia, which literally means any control
and denotes power over one's own self. It denotes power over one's own self.
(31:33):
While it denotes power over one's ownself. Like it again, Look,
it denotes power over one's own self. It suggests the control or restraint
of one's passion, appetite, anddesires. I'll say it again. It
(31:56):
denotes self control, restraint of one'spassions, appetite, and desire. In
other words, I'm not going tolose my cool. I'm not gonna go
and do some things that is goingto cost me and get me to a
place that is not good, Jeff. As meek, individuals can control his
(32:17):
attitude. A person with two perancehas power over his appetite, his physical
urges, his passions, and designs. Because the Holy spirit has produced temperance
in his life. He is ableto say no to overeating, no to
over indulging in fleshly activities, noto any excess in the physical realm.
(32:40):
You know, I had a conversationwith someone just speaking. They was telling
me, you know, they don'teat sweets. You know, they drink
water, they exercise all the time, and they tell me that. But
you know, all my problem Ihad is I drink. I was like,
wow, well you probably if youcan. You don't have already over
your appetites and all that you shouldbe able to, you know, put
(33:00):
that other piece out. And hetold me, well, I struggle with
that. Man. I struggled withthat. And I said, wow,
you mean to tell me that youcould exercise authority over you know, sweets
and you know, not drinking allthe stuff. You know, when it
comes to alcohol, you can't seemto kick that happen. And he's like,
(33:21):
you know, I got to reallyreally work in that area. And
all he needs is difference to work. Difference can go to work for him,
because here you go, is aperson with diemference maintains a life of
moderation and control. They get theystair away from over indulgent and flesh activities.
They are way, they have away of know to any excuses in
(33:43):
the physical rim. A person withthe temperance maintains of life from moderation and
control. The word the words increation temperance could be thus translated a restraint,
moderation, discipline, balance, temperance, or self control. And you
(34:04):
can see how the opposite temperance isto the work of the flesh. If
the flesh is allowed to have itsway, it will overworry, overwork,
overeat, over indulged, and literallyrun itself to death. But when a
person is controlled by the Holy Spirit, God's spirit produces in him a discipline
(34:28):
over the physical realm that helps himsustain his physical condition, stay in good
hands, remain free from sin,and live a life that is moderate and
a life that is balanced. Lordof God. So that means that you
can see these these fruit are workinghand in hand. I mean, they're
(34:49):
working together, and it's so awesomethat you know, even as they're working
hand in hand, we've got togo back and make sure that we are
we are we're cultivating them and they'rebeing cultivated. We're in a situation where
we are now allowing the flesh totake total control of our being. We're
not allowed to the flesh to taketotal control of our being. But we're
(35:12):
doing those things that's supposed to bedone according to the word of God.
I'm going back to Galatians to filmchapter again, starting with the sixteen verse.
It says this, I say, then walk in the spirit, and
you shall not fulfill the lust ofthe flesh. Why, because the flesh
lusts against the spirit, and thespirit against the flesh, and these are
(35:37):
contrary the one to the other,so that you cannot do the things that
you would. But he says, but if you be led of the spirit,
you're not under the law. Nowcheck this out. Now look at
the walk the works of the flesh. Verse nineteen says, now, all
the works of the flesh are benefits. Which are these, adultry, fornication,
(35:58):
uncleanness, the scipiousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, various emulation,
wrath, strife, tedition, heresies, indians, murderers, drunkenness, and
revelings, and such life of thewhich I tell you before, as I
have told you in times past, that they which do such things shall not
(36:23):
inherit the Kingdom of God. Youverse so much wit you two again,
it says, but the fruit ofthe spirit is again the it's joy,
it's peace, it's mon suffering,it's gentleness, it's goodness, it's faith,
it's meekness, it's temperance. Againstus, there are no more.
(36:46):
And they that are Christ have crucifiedthe flesh with the affections and the lungs.
Man o man or man o man. But that means that you do
in Christ, you are what youhave. You have crucified, You put
it to death. You know, the flesh with the affections and loves.
(37:07):
It goes and says, if welive in the spirit, let us also
walk in the spirit. Now.I want to go back and kind of
clarify this feature, because one ofthe things that I want us to get
here is it goes on and says, you know, in the text of
a Galatians factune folk polician, thatthe flesh has been executed. But how
(37:29):
could that be in light of whathe was just said in this chapter about
believers having a constant war with theever present flesh. And what sense is
the flesh killed at conversion? Itcannot be the effe complete President tent or
it would contradict the reality of thecontinual spiritual conflict with with the with the
(37:51):
flesh indicated here over in Romans andSapath, chapter from verse fourteen through twenty.
And it cannot and it is itcannot be that Paul has some future
sense in mind of or he wouldhave used a future very form saying shall
crucify the flench referred to the timesof glorification. The best understanding is to
(38:14):
see have crucified as an illusion ofthe Cross of Jesus Christ, which as
a past event finch the tense youship by Paul. It looks back to
the Cross, the time at whichthe depth of the flesh was actually accomplished.
Yet, because we are still aliveon the earth and still possess our
(38:34):
human in its humanness, I'm sorrywe have not get in and into the
future fullness of that past event.Meanwhile, the flesh, with its passions
or affections, affections and designs isdead in the sense of no longer reigning
over us or holding us in inescapablebundance. We're no longer in bundage.
(38:58):
I like this example that I wasable to read it like a chicken with
his head cut off. The fleshhas been a death blow, although it
continues to flop around the parnyard ofearth until the last nerve is strove.
So until the last nerve is strove, that means that you gotta kill,
that you gotta mortify, that yougotta make sure that it doesn't rise up,
(39:20):
because the flesh is defeated forever. And we are now. We are
now alive in the rim of whereChrist reigns over us by the spirit.
We should live according to the spiritand not according to the flesh. Because
believers have a new life in JesusChrist, they should also have a new
way of living through Jesus Christ. If we live by the spirit, and
(39:43):
we do, Paul says, letus walk by the spirit as we must.
He honestly prayed that you know, this is a prayer that all of
the believers, all the Christians, should be walking, so that you know
what the others that are looking atus can see that we are rooted,
grounded. We are really firmly furnishedin the Word of God, in the
(40:05):
things of God, and we willcompletely do the necessary things that God is
telling us to do through our word. I'm just telling you, I'm gonna
walk in the spirit. I'm gonnawalk in the spirit. I'm gonna do
what I gotta do. I'm gonnaget word in me, and I recognize
where there is a fleshly trip up, I'm gonna purposely get up repent that
(40:30):
I'm gonna make good of the verything that I'm supposed to be doing,
because I truly believe that, youknow, that's gonna be our key to
win it. That's gonna be ourkey to win it by walking in the
spirit of the Lord, by walkingin the spirit of the Lord. Going
back to it again Galatious five sixteen, it says, it says this,
(40:52):
I say in walk in the spirit, and ye shall not. You will
not fulfill the loss of flesh, because there's going to be a word going
on, and it's certainly going tobe there to trip you, to stop
you from doing the very things thatGod has called for you to do.
God want to use you, andGod wanted He wants to bring you on
(41:14):
on a larger platform. We wantto really be able to get you to
a place where your life is anexample for the world to see. And
I really believe that this is todaythat we live in that you know it's
time because gross darkness is all overthe world and not gross darkness is God
on the people. And guess what, some of the gross darkness has even
got on some of the people ofGod. But we've got to make up
(41:37):
in our mind that we will notallow ourselves to continue to walk in see
and we will not allow ourselves tocontinue to be dominated by our flesh because
the flesh, it needs to be, have to be crucified, and if
it's not crucified, it will dowhatever it can to get you over to
a place where you will not winas God would like to you to win.
(42:00):
And I think this is an opportunityagain for us to rest, to
realize that this is our day, this is our hour, and we got
to get to this place where weare doing exactly what it is that God
is telling us to do. Soit might be people out there tonight who
have had some struggles here, havehad some struggles dead. But I want
to make you q of the wordof the Lord. If you're born again
(42:22):
believer, let me telling you something. This is a way to go ahead
and repent of it and get backup and start moving again, but this
time when you move, build yourselfup by faith, build yourself up in
the world. Get you some goodreading material that's gonna encourage you. You
know the principal thing. And itall like getting get understanding this thing is
really real. You just can't waitto hear somebody saying you gotta go be
(42:44):
younger. When I'm listening, whenI'm building faith and starving down, I
might receive a word of low,but you've bever sent. I'm gonna go
deeper because I want to know whatis it gonna take for me to really
win. I know me, andbecause I know me, I know what
I need and it should be thesame thing that you should go to God.
You got, you got, yougot what I need. Glory to
God, and God will give youeverything that you need because it's already there
(43:08):
in his word. First young onenine sense, if we confess our sins,
all, let me go first invasis. If we say that we have
no sin, we deceive ourselves andthe truth is not in us. That's
what I was left at people whenthey, you know, look like he
says, kind of repeat nobody sayingnothing, but okay, come on,
now, you gotta have something goingon in you that is not right.
So if all of you is allright with God right now, that means
(43:30):
you gotta This morning, you saida really good prayer. But verse number
nine says, if we confess oursins, He's faithful and just to forgive
us our sins and to cleanse usfrom all on righteousness. Our responsibility to
get before the Lord every day.Our responsibility is to make sure that you
know we're acknowledging things when they're notgoing the way. It should be our
(43:50):
responsibilities to make sure that we samineourselves in the perfect love of liberty and
so much so that you know wecan move and become just like Kevin.
I really believe that when we buildour face, starve our bouts, and
I believe that we start seeing thefruit of it all, it should be
motivation to you that you must keepgoing. Because let me tell you.
When I can see my love walkwalking, and then I can see my
(44:13):
joy working, and I can seemy peach working, and I can see
my long suffer and guiltiness and goodnessand faith and meetness and temperance, I
feel like I am growing and guesswhat I might not be where I need
to be. But I am awork in progress. I am progressing.
I am moving toward making the necessarychanges that need to be made in my
life. So listen tonight, asI heard the show, I just want
(44:35):
to let you know that this isthe opportunity for you to come on here
to Guy and say, look,I want to be better. I gotta
do better. I want to getto the place where I'm examining me.
I'm not allowing myself to continue tooperate in the realm that I used to
the word hip that the binger manbeing crafted the new creation. Old things
will pass away and behold all thingsup brand new, because brand new,
(44:55):
I'm brand new, and I gota brand new attitude, and I will
have renewed my mind. Because Irenew my mind. It is my desire
to please you. Get everything andstay and do listen. I believes,
and I just want you to knowthat this is an opportunity for you to
go before the Lord and examine yourself, go through not all nine of the
fruit, that you can go backand dial it with the reality of everywhere
(45:20):
that you need to make the improvement. Bringing up, bring it up,
bring it up, bringing up,bring it up, bring it up and
begin to get that word so thatyou can be strong. Not only you
can be strong, that you canhave others see what Guy is doing in
your life. Let me tell yousomething and all I get in get understanding
and living and right. You gottado this thing while we're walking in there,
(45:43):
braid gunnars. We do this.We believe that you know, doing
the holiday season. What an opportunityfor your fruit to be working when you
get around all the brothers stuff, even going to the New year water particulity
for the fruit to be working sothat you can walk into your newsness.
I ain't even going to the newseas up tooe like the new era e
r A. He is longer thanher season. So that means that God
(46:04):
has the breaking the storm for you. And even as you have those things
that stop you, go go go, go, go get it. Align
yourself with the word of God sothat you can see who God has caused
you to be. God blests youand we will see you again on Monday.
