Speaker 1 (00:20):
He else box.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Oh, Chauncey Dandridge, how are you.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
I'm wonderful.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
It's amazing time to be a Madonna fan, and it's
an amazing time to just, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Take a nap, take a nap, nap time, nap time
with Susan Thomas. I question if we're going to ever
get it, you know, there hasn't We just got coming soon.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
You know, we got that whole, like, we got that
whole like teaser, and just the fact that they called
it nap time like that was pretty it's pretty cruel
on their part.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Well it's not officially called nap time, but that that
was their their code name, code name nap time for.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Then we who got that whole like we're going to
get another piece of the story or something or like
the untold story about bedtime.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Stories, right, yeah, yeah, And all we got was.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
A beautiful like image that wasn't released before and and
then nada.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
And then nothing. Crickets, crickets. She's maybe she's waiting, she's
waiting for I don't know, maybe she's waiting for another
anniversary of something. It's just like, you know, we're working
like milestone anniversary. Yeah, Confessions Confessions is going to be
twenty and this year October. Wow, that's right, twenty years

(01:50):
of confessions, just in time for the new album. I
have a funny feeling the new album is going to
be released in fall. It will be released in October.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yeah, we'll probably get a summer single, like a nice bop.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, I'm thinking. I'm thinking that's what's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Because in the rumor about them sampling Dirty Cash the nineties,
speaking of that was Stevie b Right, it was.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Was it something like that? Yeah, it's like you're like, yeah,
a distant cousin. Yeah, like like we've never we've never
met before. But if you do my ancestry dot com,
you'll see that we are related. Kind of how Madonna,

(02:35):
Celine Dion, Beyonce and Camilla from England Beyonces related to Madonna. Yeah, yeah,
they share the same ancestor. Yeah, yeah they do. So
just it's so do Celine Dion.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
No, I knew that. Yeah, French Canadian.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Their mom was, you know Madonna fortune CHICONI was French Canadian.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
So yeah, they all have the same ancestor.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Wow, I didn't know about Beyonce, knew about the other people.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, I think I think Beyonce's kind of maybe Beyonce's
like made up, like somebody just threw that in there,
but allegedly double check. Let's fact check.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Isn't she also related to she who will not be
named anymore, Gwen Stefani.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I didn't know that? Is she?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Pretty sure they're related, so let's.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Just double yes. Beyonce and Celine Dion are distantly related,
sharing common ancestor through French settlers in North America Sean
Guillon Dion. Wow, he must have invented something with that name. Okay,
so distantly related to other celebrities Madonna, Hillary Clinton, Justin Bieber,

(03:53):
Ryan Gosling, and Angelina Jolee.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Beyonce distantly related to all that.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, so yeah, look at that.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
The Illuminati, that's what it is.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It actually is the Illuminati. It really is Hillary Clinton's
like sitting there in her chair with her robe on,
you know, like the Traders. Did you ever watch that
show The Traders yet?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Watched?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Okay, well maybe you should watch it. That's that's the
Illuminati sitting there they meet.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Oh, is that what the Traders are?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
It's really not the Illuminati, but the like the premise
of the show is. You know, it's all these contestants
and nobody knows who's who, Like there's two or three
traders and faithfuls.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Oh so it's traders like t R A I t
O R.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, they're not trading anything.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
They're not like, oh when I heard people, when I've
heard people mentioned traders, I thought it was like they're
trading things.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Like like POGs. They were trading POGs.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
They're trading recipes.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Recipes, POGs, Pokemon cards. Yes, did you ever have Pokemon cards?
I know you're you were older, but yeah, you never
You never got into that.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
No, I really didn't. I really don't understand Pokemon.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
You know, it's okay, it's never too late. You go
buy yourself a pack of cards, start collecting.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
I played it when it was like the game on
the phone. Yeah, and I would just continually go to
the same places, so I would just collect the same
ones over and over again.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Like I wasn't very adventurous with it, so.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Because I thought it was kind of crazy that people
were just like wandering aimlessly finding things that weren't there.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
I mean I did it for a while too.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, No, I was doing it but like I said,
I was just going to the same places and like
it was the same one that I collected yesterday.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
People getting really involved in it.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
But yeah, I know some of my coworkers were like
doing it.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
They would go on trips, like they would just walk
around and I was like, wow, this is fantastic.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
It's funny. If you ever watched people in Japan like
play it, it's all old people in Japan and they
it's it's like office office ladies and salary men just
with their phones out tapping away man like like a businessman.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
I never heard of.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
That's that's what that's what.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
They call it.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
They're called like ol office ladies and salarymen what like
black like black suits. Yeah okay mm hm cool. Like
did you ever watch like Blonde Ambition Tour Yokohama, Like
you'll see them in the audience.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Okay, are the ones in the front?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah? Yeah, it's all salary men and and and OL
office ladies, office ladies. I like the office ladies. I'm
an office lady.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Actually, yeah, I want to I'm an office lady. Want
to be Yeah, I'm like a Louise Oriole want to
be yeah, which which she's kind of been looking like lately.
Have you noticed that? Mm hmm, she's been uh, she's
been channeling the Louise Oriole fantasy from nineteen ninety three
for bed from.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Well, it's it's so interesting because I know we're going
to talk about it. The photo shoot they the photo
shoot she just did with Stephen Klein. Yes, is it
completely yeah, completely different look and that was only what
a week later? You know, it's like boom, but hey,

(07:19):
I'm into it.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Well, we don't know when those photos were taken, you.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Know, well I'm pretending it was a week ago.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
You know, I'm saying like they could have been taken.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Like like right on the cdore.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
They've been taken like a month ago.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
They could have been taken whenever, you know, and then
you know the styling and all that, Like Stephen Klein
really does magic with her brilliant Stephen Mazelle was excellent
with like catching like her like being like more provocative
and naked. But Stephen Klein kind of all his photographs

(07:52):
look like paintings.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
It's gorgeous.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
They they really do. It's it's just beautifully shot everything,
Like there's the shot of like her legs and she's
like walking up the steps with the high heels and
the and the cigarette butt like I would frame that,
I'd put that in the hallway.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yeah. He really captures her in a way that no
one captures her in other ways.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah, I mean she just gorgeous, gorgeous photo shoot.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, and I mean she he was we like kind
of discovered him during like the Beasts Within right like
within but ecstatic process and the the photoshoot that came
out right before right around American Life, right, mm hmmm.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Didn't he do Stephen Klein did the Confessions on a
dance floor? No, the the riding crop for it was
W was a W magazine.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Yeah, yes, it was a W magazine. And then that
became like the backdrop for the Confession for opening, which
was gorgeous.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Which is an amazing photo shoot.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
So gorgeous. I love. I love what she's laying on
the horse with a cigarette like she just had like
they just had sex.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Mm hmm. But yeah, I mean he he does do
great photo shoots with her, and I think he did
blame it on Rio as well, Yeah, which is.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
I would I would love for her to reconnect though
with like Stephen Maizel and do like just a little
photo shoot, you know, just to see what he would
capture from her.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
I mean there's still time. I mean she's got she's
got the new album, you know, coming up, so I'm
sure there's more photo shoots too to follow. I mean,
you know, promos and magazines and whatnot. And I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
I stunning, dying to know what what just a just
a spinkling of the musical direction she's going, Like obviously
it's going to be dancing.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
You know, Stuart's a lover of dance.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
But uh, I just I just want to I just
dine and know what's cooking in the oven.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
You know.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I wonder who has had the chance two hear what's
been recorded so far. I wonder if anybody's like she's
been like, hey, come here, I want you to listen
to this.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
And then may give me, like a give me your
honest opinion, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
You know, I wonder if like I don't know, who
would she call, who would be on Madonna's call list,
like come here, I want.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
You to listen to this, like Debbie Mazar or.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Debbie or like maybe Katy Perry. Would you call Katie
and be like, hey, listen to this.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I don't know if they're friends like that.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
You know, a lot of like pop music right now
is very hard, Like a lot of the pop girls
are doing like like thicker beats and like or like
technoly sounds, like you know, we just had the Rat Summer,
which was very like some of her beats are like
almost obnoxious. You know, like I'm wondering whether she's going
to kind of touch upon that or she's gonna go

(11:01):
more of like you know, like the dua lipa kylie
disco breathy airy kind of sound or company, you know,
a hope self. I would just love I would just
really love like a like a classic house song vibe
on a few of the songs, just like she doesn't
even have to sing a lot, just kind of like

(11:22):
give us like an updown sweet kind of moment. Like
one track on the album is just kind of her
saying a couple of words here and there just to
give us like a like a little punty, little boguing beat.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Kind of thing. You know, m.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
That could happen a little bit of like a touch
of vulgar, but like more just her, you know, Like.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
You know, I was just gonna say that something like vulgar.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
We have to get some sort of voguing song because
especially from the tour, and you know, she was for
World not World Pride, for gay Pride. She like, you know,
she was overall move you know, like they were all
like loving her as like the voguing queen. So some
of that's got to go through. Like I'm praying that
FK Twigs does a song with her, because FK twigs

(12:11):
they're buddies, right.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
You know what sure? I mean, I would assume they
probably are. I'm sure Madonna is aware of f king Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
I know they've been some fashion shows together or something,
and I know that FK twigs did a little Vogue
homage in one of her concerts recently and all that.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Also, have you have you seen the rumor? I wonder
if anyone out there knows more information.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Supposedly, like Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga and two other like
pop girlies all tweeted about bedtime stories they did.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, I thought I might have. I thought I sent
that to you. I guess I didn't.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Some page on either Twitter or x or whatever it's
called now or Facebook they posted like a collage of
like four different like pop girls that have recently posted
in their stories like either a picture of like a

(13:15):
screenshot of them listening to a song from bedtime Stories
or just like acknowledging it like a photoshoot photo or something.
And there's a rumor that you know, they might do
kind of like a collab, like you know how like
some people do a re release with all the guest vocals. Yes,
so like it would be like, I mean, god, I

(13:37):
did that with Born This Way when Born As it
was ten years old, she did, like everybody covered the songs.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Yes, but you know what, I'm gonna be honest with you.
Kylie was on it. It was okay, I liked it.
And what's his face from years and years? Ali Alexander,
he was on one of the one of the tracks.
I kind of like them better as their cover versions.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Yeah, some of them were. Yeah, for sure, I.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Really I was like, oh, I think I kind of
like this.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Yeah, it's kind of nice to hear because a lot
of people people cover Madonna but they don't like it's
not it's not as common as as I feel like
it should be. The live versions, but it's there's rarely
a but actually Michael Madrano just did a cover of
Hollywood and also, uh, I believe his name is Billy

(14:29):
Danny Brixton or Billy Brixton. He's a friend of mine
on Instagram. M hm, he just did a cover of
Hollywood as well, which is kind of interesting.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Are we to do when are we going to do
our cover.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Of Let's let's do a cover of Hollywood?

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Yeah, I mean, and that's all we's saying it.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yeah, this bird, this bird, this this, What the fuck
do you think you're doing?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
That's what it is. Yes, the decoy, the decoy for.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Cover.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
What the fuck do you? What the fuck do you?
What the fuck do you think you're doing? Well, there's
another one, right, What was the other one?

Speaker 2 (15:08):
I don't I was just her saying what the fuck
do you think you're doing?

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Over? Another one? That was?

Speaker 3 (15:13):
There was another one that, like I remember back then
that was so funny. But speaking of anniversaries, you know
what today is, right.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
It's it's the anniversary of the Pajama Party.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yes, it is thirty years ago tonight today me and
my friend Pedro took the Path train from Harrison, New
Jersey into the city, dressed in matching pajamas, only mine
were blue and his were black, and we were carrying
I had a teddy bear had he had a teddy dog.
Is that what it's called when it's just when it's
a stuffed.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Animal stuff dog? Teddy bear?

Speaker 2 (15:48):
A teddy dog, Okay, a teddy dog.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
We took the Path train into Manhattan. I was nineteen
years old. No, I wasn't nineteen yet. It was eighteen
going on nineteen. And we took the train and walked
to Webster Hall and we went to the Madonna Pajama
Party when she was premiering her iconic Bedtime Story video.

(16:12):
What a night that was, I believe for my nineteenth birthday.
There's a whole long story about that night. I think
I've told before, and I told many times. But I
was living New Brunswick at the time, and I had
left my My idea at the time was like like
falling apart anyway, like the plastic was scripting and all that.
I had accidentally left it in New Brunswick and took

(16:34):
the the you know, the hour train ride from New Brunswick,
New Jersey, to Harrison, New Jersey. And then at that's
when when I was on the train, I realized I
forgot my I D. So when we got to the party,
they asked for you know, ID, and I'm like, I
don't have mine, and they kicked me out of line.
My friend Pedro got like he lost me, and I

(16:54):
had to walk around the corner and talk to somebody
that I didn't know, but I was friends with my
friend dark Lean like, Hi, I'm friends with Darlene.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I just got kicked out of line because I don't
have my ID. Can you help me? And he somehow
got me back into the into the line and I
found my friend Pedro, who was my first Madonna fan friend,
and we got in and we saw that we got
to witness the experience.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Love it. It's I'm sure to be there was amazing.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Well, the coolest part is because of the drama of
getting kicked out of line, by the time we made
it back to the front of the line, right before
we got into the club was the moment she pulled
up in her limo. So if none of that happened,
we wouldn't have been right there. So it kind of
was very cosmic, you.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Know, m the stars aligned for you.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Cosmic systems, intertwine, extra bodies, drip like wine.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
All of nature, ebbs and flows.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Everything in the universites of Madonna lyric.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
It is it kind of is.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yeah, you can always connect to Madonna to pretty mu
anything that happens in your life.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Just about I'd say, so.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
You could, you know, we should Actually that would be
really fun. Actually if we did like a like a
game show where somebody says, somebody gives somebody a situation
and you have to you have to respond in only
Madonna lyrics.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Okay, maybe we should do that. That that's a good idea.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Maybe that's what we'll do for our next guest. Will
be like, all right, your next.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Guest, Well, we'll get some cheesy music, going game show music,
you know, and we'll we'll have to have them like.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Your dog died. Relate that to using Madonna lyrics. You know,
you have to be like, you know.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
I could see this happening. That could be a lot
of fun. I could see it happening.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
Could be a fun part of like I'm at a
future Madonna worship or something like a little like a
little game.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Show to give away some some swag or something.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Oh we love swag.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
I speaking inventing things on the fly, and you.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Know whenever speaking of Madonna worship, there a Madonna worship
coming up. There is a Madonna worship coming up. Did
you not get the memo?

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Did you? Did you not get that?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
You did? Are you sure?

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah? I knew it?

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Did you check your outlook calendar to make sure my outlook?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
I checked my your file effects.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Either are archaic words that if you're a millennial or
younger you might not understand. You might have to google them.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
I know, to be like somebody's like going to be like,
what the hell is a file off?

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Like address books?

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Those are so. It was such an interesting thing.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
It was all we had and they're very like I
remember as a kid my father had Franklin something or other.
It was like a brand and they were expensive, Like
the inserts were like fifty bucks, you know, to buy

(19:56):
new inserts for it. Wow, Franklin's something out of forget
the brand and it came in like, no, it wasn't Franklin.
And they make Faberge eggs. Didn't you ever see cereal? Mom?

Speaker 1 (20:09):
I believe that.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Yeah, Franklin Mint, faber Faberge eggs, Faberge eggs. Yeah, so
it's Franklin's something or other and those like even filo facts.
I think they're still expensive.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
I wonder if mcdona'sall has an address book, she might
be surpris I could see her having more physical like
physical written down memories and stuff like I can't you
know she's you know, plus the seventies, so she the
idea of even just digital music is probably farn like

(20:46):
was feign to her for such a long time. She
from the time when you bought a record, you bought
an actual vinyl record, or you bought a cassette tape.
You would hand a cassette tape to your to the
DJ at the club, where now people just email it
or they'll like air drop me a song, or they'll
or they'll hand me a USB stick.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
You know, what would you do if somebody handed you
a cassette tape?

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Now I would I would eat it?

Speaker 2 (21:11):
No? Really, Like, let's just say someone's doing a show
and you're at Stonewall. Do you have a Do you
have a tape deck? There?

Speaker 1 (21:16):
No?

Speaker 2 (21:17):
No, you'd call me can you get your Now?

Speaker 3 (21:22):
How fast can you get here with the tape deck?
Stevie For anyone who doesn't know Stevie is the master
of not only you know, retro equipment. But he's just
a media master, like he has extensive knowledge of Like
he's like the rain Man of music.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Am I Well, I.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Don't want to say the autistic, but I think everyone.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I think, yeah, probably, I accept that.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
I'm totally fine with it. Young. I mean, I think,
I think anyone.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Who's creative or anyone who is really into anything has
a touch, you know, is on the spectrum because you
wouldn't be able to get so involved and obsessed with
something if you didn't have some.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
And it's not a it's not a negative thing.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
No, I think it's truth. I think most most millennials
because I'm a millennial, you're a millennial. I am. I
am a millennial. But for me, I'm sorry, Yeah you
thought it was gen Z.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
No.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
I always think there's a general I always think there's
a generation in between gen X, which I am, and millennial.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
But that's the next one, right, So it's gen X
then millennial. I'm an older millennial though.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Because I had a younger I'm a younger gen gen X.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Yeah, so I had I had an analog childhood.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Analog childhood.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
I had an analog childhood.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
That's such a great two word phrase. Yeah, that's gonna
be the name of your.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Of your one man show. It's called I had an
analog childhood.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
That's right. I was born in the nineteen hundreds. I
was born last century.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
God, isn't that wild? It is?

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I need my I need my ben gay and uh
polla grip and what else? What else the old people need?
It's gonna my Worthers Caramels.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Her favorite line from one of Lady Bunny's shows was
she was like talking about like her being older with
like a young a younger guy, and she's like, these
words originals aren't going to suck themselves.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
It was great. She did her show for a long
time and still on. It was so fun.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
She like, before I got to know Lady Bunny, I
used to I used to be really mad at her
because she always talks.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
About Madonna and I got about everybody.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Yeah, and then I got to know her and I
realized she talks about everybody. But also like she actually
doesn't hate Madonna. She just likes to just pick on people,
you know.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
And she talks about everybody. Yeah, you know, you know,
speaking of people who talk shit. You know, Madonna did
that whole she did a Malawi fundraising event this SWA
this weekend, and she posted a couple of pictures. In
one of the pictures, Andy Cohen was there and I
don't know you were there at the Celebration tour when

(24:18):
she's like talking ship to Andy, Yes, and she's trouble
making queen. And I actually listened to Andy's show after
and he's like, yeah, Madonna won't come on the show,
she says, because I have too many people to talk
shit about her on. But it seems like it seems
like they're there, They're they're friendly, friendly enough. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, I mean he's uh, he's a trouble maker. That's
his that's his brand.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Yeah, I mean these housewives hello.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Yeah, I mean so he thrives on it.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
You know, he's made He's become a gazillionaire because of it,
because of trouble and trouble.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
There's trouble, trouble and women.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Yeah, lots of in.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Trouble making women, trouble making women, and he's a trouble
making queen.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
So so, but yeah, I'm looking forward to Madonna worship.
It's actually my birthday as well, which that was kind
of not like the reason we did the party, me
and me and Michelle, who was our guest last episode.
I've been talking about recreating the Pajama party for as
long as we've known each other and and you know,
started doing parties. Started as soon as she started working

(25:28):
on Madonna Worship with me, maybe like ten years ago
mm hm. And we were going to do it for
the twenty fifth anniversary, but I believe that was like
that was twenty twenty, so that was that was the
death pandemic Levado whatever they call it. So we weren't
able to do it there, and we were gonna try
to do it to Webster Hall, but just logistics and

(25:51):
like getting that many people together and renting a venue
that large would have been just you know a little
bit out of our out of our.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Reach, so it would have been amazing. But you know
the spot, I like the venue that you that you
picked out.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Yes, I worked there once a month. My friend Tim
recently acquired the space. It's a really funky event space
in Chelsea on twenty third Street. It's actually twenty two
West twenty third Street on the fourth floor. It's kind
of like you wouldn't know it was there, but when
you walk in and get on the elevator, and when
the elevator opens, it's just a magical, like swanky little lounge.

(26:32):
You know, there's a great DJ booth, full stock bar,
there's a great whole like room of like couches and
like very fishy chill vibes, and then there's a little
area where that would be the dance floor. And like
I said, I've been working with Tim for many years now.
He does a go go boy party called the Donnas Lounge.

(26:54):
It's kind of a traveling party, but we do once
a month there, and I said, you would be kind
of cool to do. We've been doing Madonna worship at
Red Eye, which I love, and you know, we do
the annual one at three dollar bill for her actual birthday.
I was like, let's do something a little different and
make it like kind of like a secret location. And

(27:15):
people seem to be intrigued by it, and they're they're
really interested in it, and you know, I showed people
some pictures and everybody seems to like it. The amazing
thing is we're going to do our best recreating the
Pajama Party. We have one of my dear friends, Misty Mountains,
will be reading Miss Spider's Tea party at midnight and

(27:36):
everyone's favorite Madonna muse in person. I don't know what
we would call her, even Ladivi Chaconi is going to
recreate the fantastic, brilliant, iconic brit Awards performance.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
That's going to be amazing being rehearsals.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
It's going to blow people away, Like people aren't ready
for it. I'm so excited for it. Esther a k
La Diva Chikoni always always brings, brings it. You know,
whatever she decides to do every single performance has always
been super memorable and iconic. This is gonna be no different.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
And I'm super excited to see this.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Yeah, it's gonna be incredible, and you know it is.
It is a pajama party, but you know, sexy lingerie
and pajamas are encouraged, but not not mandatory.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
If you don't feel comfortable, are.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
You gonna wear? What are you gonna wear?

Speaker 3 (28:29):
I'm kind of doing like a couple of different things,
like I'm gonna start the night out with this like
silky pink kind of kind of top, and then I'm gonna,
you know, as the night progresses, just take off more
clothes as it goes.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
On.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Okay, Yeah, so.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Yeah, I'm you know, I'm also gonna be in the booth,
so like my bottoms don't really matter as much as
my top, So.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
Well who cares it? Like who needs bottoms?

Speaker 1 (28:56):
That's what I'm saying. Like, so you know what I'm
wearing on the bottom, is it gonna make that much
of a difference Unless you're in the booth, you're not
going to see it.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
But yeah, I got me, got me a new pair
of pajamas to wear.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
So yeah, wait, my friend, my friend Jen who runs
Crue de Fromage. It's a like a she usually does,
like charcuterie boards and all that she's doing kind of
like a Coian fruit kind of spread m So there's
gonna be some little treats with full bar. But the
coolest part about it is like it's not a normal

(29:29):
venue where people can go to on a on a
regular basis, So it is very private, very like exclusive.
You know, the only the only people that are going
to be in there are going to be people who
want to be there.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
It's going to be wonderful.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
And now how can we how can we get tickets
to this?

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Okay, so in if you follow me at DJ, Chauncey
D or Madonna worship on Instagram. There is a party
full link in the bio. If you go through party full,
you can pay for your tickets through. It goes through
Venmo or cash app, whichever you prefer, and then you're
on the list. But yeah, I don't know the exact

(30:08):
party full. I guess if you if you go to
a party fol and you type in Madonna worship, it
should come up. Okay, so if you follow, you know
you could if you follow Madonna worship on Instagram, it's
in the bio and it's in most of the posts
and all that. So then definitely follow Stevie Vox because he's.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
Stevie Vox at Stevie Vox at Stevie Vox s T

D D, J C h A U and c E
y D.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
And if you don't know how to spell Madonna worship,
go back to school.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
I mean, yeah, do something. Get a dictionary, well, get yourself,
get get get a thesaurus, right click, right click thesaurus,
right click, right click. Souper were excited for it.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
At nine pm. Such at nine pm, we started a
little earlier.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Oh question though, will tickets to be available at the door.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
They're available at the door, but they're five dollars more.
There'll there'll be twenty five dollars at the door of
twenty dollars through party four tickets in advance.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
I better get I better get on that. I better
get my ticket. You better get your tickets, Stevie. I
know you don't want to not be on the list exactly.
I mean, listen, we're just tough times. Know, I need
to save me a five dollars.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Yeah. It's really accessible to all public transportation. It's on
twenty third Street between fifth and sixth Avenue, kind of
in that home depailt area. Familiar with that area. Train
our train, the six. Pretty much every train is close.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Every train. So we have Ladiva CHACONI, Yeah, we have
we have our girl Misty Mountains.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
And we have a special bur lesque performance by Darling Toby.
Oh yeah, we're going We're going lighter on the performances
for this Madonna worship just so that people can kind of,
you know, dance a little more and celebrate a little more.
I'm pretty sure, like the first hour or so, we're
gonna kind of keep a little down tempo and sexy,
and then once ten o'clock rolls around, we'll start we'll

(32:17):
start pumping it up.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Love it.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
I'm super excited when.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
You go when you go to parties, a lot like
a like a highly party, a Britney party, Like it's
always the dance tracks, but Madonna has so many like
down tempo and beautiful ballads. I figure the first hour
will kind of keep it like, you know, a little sanctuary,
a little bit of you know.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
A little bit of uh love, try to welcome me.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Yeah, like a little bit of that, you know, just
you know, red people up for the for the moment,
you know, mm hmm. It's not every not every Madonna
song is a is a high energy dance song. So
it's kind of nice to like throw a little just
my love in there, a.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Little little little you know, little chill out, you know.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Vibe inside out from rebel Heart. But you know, I
love yeah, I know you love that song. You know,
maybe like yeah, what would be for like this? You know,
maybe even Shooby Doo might end up in the in
the in the early set.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
We can only hope.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Yeah, we love Shooby Doo. We do big fans of
the Shooby Doo.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
I mean, what else, what other? What other you know,
slow songs. Do you think you'll be able to play
times stood Still?

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Timeshould Still would be fun?

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Yeah, falling Free.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Falling Falling Free is a little too slowly.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
I think you think we can maybe we could speed
it up. Do you want to do a quick remix?

Speaker 1 (33:44):
Quick?

Speaker 2 (33:45):
I'm right back, yeah, do it on the fly. That
would be I think it will be good. Well, you know,
Bedtime Stories was kind of the you know, softer side
of Madonna.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Inside of me it is beautiful, so.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
You know, we could start off a little slow and
then you know, get ourselves ready to dance our asses off.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Even the original Bedtime Story song was not really like
a like a dance song. It was kind of like
the transcendental kind of you know, the Be's song, you.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Know, mm hmm. Now Don't Stop is probably more more dancier. Yeah,
that was more like fun still still still, you know,
softer but great song.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Great, The whole album was beautiful. But yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
You know, we we did a lot of Madonna worships
last year and this year we're probably just gonna do
you know, maybe we'll do one around Pride. I'm not
sure Pride is gonna prob is gonna be very busy
this year, so we'll see what happens, but we'll definitely do.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
It in August again and.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Trying to figure out, you know, because I know, you know,
if she releases something obviously in the summertime, all I
still be, you know, a moment to celebrate for other
reasons other than just Madonna, you know, to be you know,
listening to the new album in a club environment, which
everybody would love.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
M Like, I remember hearing the first time I heard
American Life. I hadn't heard the original version, but i'd
heard the Peter Rahaff remix at the Roxy in Manhattan,
and that was the first way that I heard the song.
I was like blown away.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
And then when I heard the original, I was like, oh,
it's kind of like music but different, you know, But
what a way to hear a song for the first time,
you know.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
I'm just trying to think if I've ever heard a
Madonna remix before I heard the original version.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
That was probably the only time I've ever heard it.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
I don't, I don't think so. I mean, I've heard like, oh,
you know, the single came out, you know, and I
would go out and buy like the maxi single or whatever,
and they'd be remixes on it. But I don't think
I've ever heard of a remix before I heard the album,
like the album version or the single version.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
This is probably the only time I think.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
I do remember, though, when I watched the Blonde of
Vision tour over and over and over again, I wasn't
as familiar with causing a commotion as I was, like
all the other songs that were in the in the concert,
so I was like, what is this causing a commotion song? Somehow,
it like it evaded me when Who's That Girl came
out because I remember Who's That Girl on the radio?
I remember, you know, all the true blue songs on

(36:31):
the radio, you know, But for some reason, causing a
commotion somehow escaped my.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Mind.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Well I think also because causing a Commotion didn't have
like a separate video. There was no music video for it. Yeah, yeah,
I think at that time. I mean, the only video
version they had was the live footage from Who's That
Girl tour? Yeah, and then she did it was a

(37:01):
tell Tello cast on the VMA's right, the Video Music Awards,
like i'd be a satellite Yeah, satellite performance, but otherwise
it didn't. I don't you know.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
I feel like the songs that had videos that resonated
with people at the time, Yeah, SOTV, I think that
would have helped out with radio play and single sales exactly.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
But I think I think it wasn't a commotion. Did
pretty decent in America, didn't I I mean, yeah, I
think it was a number two, wasn't it something like that?
I don't even remember.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Her top ten definitely top ten. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
I often wonder like if if streaming was out back
then or like how different her her like number ones
would be in all that, because like, if she came
out during streaming, people people lived for her, so it
would have been, like, I don't know, just the way
we consume music is so different the one she's started.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
Well, it's interesting too because you have now you have
everybody for the most part, I'm gonna say a good
what ninety percent of people in the world all they
do is stream, okay, and then the rest of the
people will buy, you know, Oh there's a vinyl release,
Oh there's a picture disc release, oh there's colored vinyl,
you know, colored variants of this or that, and then

(38:23):
they buy them.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
People are buying these, you well, I think.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
And that's where Taylor Swift got very smart and she
started pressing twenty million versions of each album. The last
album she had had so many different variants and styles
whatever you want to call them, Like pressing plants were
pretty backed up with just her orders. Oh you know.

(38:50):
And then you look at like Lady Gaga her new
album that she just released. I think there's fifteen or
sixteen different variants of with different cover and everything else.
So it's like they're getting smarter. It's like, oh, well,
if I put out my album and I just give them,
you know, a different color or a different cover, you know,

(39:15):
my fans are going to buy them, yea, yeah, and
they're gonna stream it because they're going to just buy
the vinyl just to keep on the shelf exactly. So,
and I think that's, uh, it's a smart move. I
mean it's not great for the environment, but whatever.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
I just don't know whether like that many copies are
being sold of those, you know.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
I mean it's more of like a rabbit fan would
collect those.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
You know, m yeah, or a Rabbit fan or somebody
that just so happened to be at whatever store wants
the album and they're like, oh, they have it here,
I'm going to buy it.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
You know.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
I could see like, oh, I was shopping in Barnes
and Noble and I'm going to buy the Barnes and
Noble version of the album because I'm a casual fan
or whatever. I'm sure there's people that do that too.
Don't just buy it because they're there. There's the Target
exclusive or the Walmart exclusive or I mean, I'm not
hating on anybody that does buy multiple copies, you know,

(40:11):
because lord knows, I've done it. I have, you know, good,
good little collection.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Yeah. No, I envy people who have that kind of
finacity to collect more than one copy of things. Like I.
I was never good at that. I would always like
open up everything and use it.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
You know, well I do too, not everything, but I do.
I want to listen to it. I'm going to listen
to it. Got to enjoy it.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
That's what I love about.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
Even what I try to do is if I buy it,
but you know, an artist that I buy their music from,
I still try to stream it a little because I know,
buying it once and just listening to that version, you're
not really you're not helping them after you purchase it once,
you know.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
I do believe though, I think there is like a study,
you know, a mathematical equation out there that you would
need to listen to whatever Spotify stream of a song
x amount of times to people that one like physical

(41:13):
release sale, like one physical sale. So I mean, if
you're buying something and you're streaming it, I guess that's fine,
but I don't think that, you know, Spotify isn't paying
out very much too.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
Yeah, I mean they can.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
They'd have to charge a thousand dollars a month each customer,
you know what I mean. You could literally listen to
music like people leave. They're a Spotify on twenty four
to seven, Like you don't really pause it, so you're
streaming music even if you're not listening to it. So
there's no way they could pay anybody a lot or
stream because the membership fee every month would have to

(41:46):
be insane.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
You know, I haven't. I actually haven't used Spotify and
about three weeks now, oh wow, it every day I
I I'm trying out a different service okay. Yeah, so
I'm running my own server out of my own house
with my own CD rips. Oh wow, I still I

(42:09):
still have I still have Spotify, and I still subscribe
to it because I have a family plan. But I
actually haven't used it. I think the last time I
used it was to listen to a podcast. Oh yeah
it was. It's this little podcast called the Madonna Worship Podcast.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
I heard of it.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
Yeah, it's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
Yeah, I haven't listened, but I've heard it. I've heard
really good things about it.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
It's also available on Apple Music.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
And also like pod Bean and stuff.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
I heard, Oh my god, pod Bean. Yeah, I never
heard of pod bean, but clicking the bean in the
pod bean, that's right. But yeah, so I'm trying testing
that out and we'll see.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
So I'm excited about this Saturday. If you haven't gotten
your tickets yet, please visit Madonna Worship on Instagram them
and it's in the bio and also the link to
our to uh Madonna Worship the podcast is in there too.
But definitely follow Madonna Worship, Definitely follow Stevie Box, and
definitely follow d J chaun c D And this was

(43:15):
you know, we're going to keeping this episode short and sweet,
short and sweet, just like a Sabrina Carpenter, Just like
Sabrina Carpenter. Yeah, who did an excellent job emulating Madonna
on the cover was a Vanity Fair Bogue.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
One of them. I think I think it was. I
think I think that was Vanity Fair. I think maybe not.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Maybe Madonna's Oscar dress for one of the award shows
as well.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Actually, I really like her.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
She's scared. I feel like I feel like a collaboration
is imminent.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
You know, I'm gonna go buy her record now. I'm
going to go out and buy it. I am. I'm
going to the store right now. I'm going to get
on my motorcycle and then just go.

Speaker 1 (44:01):

Speaker 2 (44:09):
And then I'm gonna get on the on the pod bean.

Speaker 1 (44:16):

Oh my gosh, I cannot wait until Saturday. It's gonna
be so much fun. I can't wait to wear are pajamas.
I can't wait to celebrate your birthday and listen to
Madonna and see all these wonderful performers.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
Yeah, and all the wonderful fans. It's such a great
family we have.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
You know, and you know, props if you listen to
the podcast. Yeah, so all right then I guess we're
wrapping it up.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
Yeah, we're wrapping up. There's a little short and street episode,
but yeah, definitely. Uh well, we'll be releasing another episode
very soon. There's actually our one year anniversary.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
Right it is. It's our anniversary this month.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
Happy anniversary, Darling.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
Happy anniversary. You know what, maybe we'll have to go
out for you know, a steak and a potato or something,
potato steak and a potato. I don't know. Isn't that
what you do for an anniversary?

Speaker 1 (45:19):
With some sour cream and chibes and.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Sour cream chives, you know, maybe a little uh a
one sauce.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
I don't make a one sauce.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Oh well, I think my meat.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
Just just give me the meat. It's butter, little garlic butter.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
I'm down with some meat, why not? Yea?

Speaker 3 (45:35):
We do need a nice uh Donna worship podcast dinner
date soon, so.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
You know what, Tomorrow maybe tomorrow. Tomorrow's another day.

Speaker 1 (45:44):
Tomorrow is another day. So all right, Stevie.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
All right, Chauncey, you know what you sleep tight? Okay?

Speaker 1 (45:53):
Yeap time is anytime.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
I'm going to bed right now, right after I go
buy Sabrina Carpenter's new album, and you know, maybe you know,
I think I might call Misty Mountains. I'll see if
she's free to read me. One Misty, if you're listening,
I'm gonna call you, Okay, so have your phone in hand.
I'm calling right now. I'm dialing right now. Twenty hundred

(46:19):
Misty Mountains.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Climb every mountain.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
Chauncey, have a good night. I'll talk to you soon.
I'll see you Saturday. A skilled plan kitchen unfortun
