So glass that happen.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Yeah, she made it happen.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
The play was written like that forty years ago. Can
you tell us a little inspiration about your play?

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Well, I love the art, I guess.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
I used to be a.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Being dinner and you know a lot, and I just
wanted to write a story. And my motivation was my
mother and her mother. They both made with Maggie and
I enjoyed them and I was really in hun table

(08:27):
or went until science fiction, and but I just wanted
a real sens that while telling a story of sending
out a message of bitterness and forgiveness. And so with
the combined with the training I had with my parents,

(08:50):
I did uh feel that I had enough information to
rocking story. And I'm so greatful that I had.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Them that I did, and so it took them a
little while. Love was too single.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
Parents in the one daughter, and it took a while
I needed to do other things in my life. But
I nan every character that my brother, my relatives. I
tell one that I was simple, but every name, the

(09:32):
name a relative.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Yeah, because.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
How long.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Well, I had finished my master's degree and had had
the Francisco and so most of story that fact open
or in the Bay area. I lived in Stevens, so

(10:02):
wild and around quite a bit there and I was
familiar thing why school, so I just wrote and first
started off writing the books and then something is and

(10:24):
like writing in the state. And I also looking at
as a moving so.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, so you.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
See, um a Brad, you.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Move around.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
You have been Europe for about year. I was in
school other than the school there sat School and its
holding down Tennessee. So that's there. I grew up their

(11:13):
about ten years before I moved here.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Well, what I see now were called the wildcatcats.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yeah, I get some of them.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Now.

Speaker 1 (11:29):

On that.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Every Friday, just like.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
My thirteenth Friday. So I'm a newbie.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
He's a he's a news that that's Jade's husband.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Yeah, but my, but my lady has been.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
It's been.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
It's been amazing for me to watch her as she
grows through her interaction with you know, the back behind
the scenes of producing this play.

Speaker 7 (12:32):
You know, Uh, very cool.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
She had never done anything like that before. And you know,
the way that the material stretches everybody is good for everyone.
You know, that's how we learned, that's how we grow.
So and I'm a therapist and you know my thing is,
you know, trying to tap into these mental health challenges

(13:03):
that we all have that we don't want to deal with,
you know, but you know so many of us really
need to see a therapist, you know, because you know
we can't do it a lotit you need help.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah right, And so I believe you're gonna come to
our show and uh instead of the table and tell
right body, so they could be never bit So this
is our play.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
We haven't a plan in which one yeah, yeah, never
go there we go.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
You got youroys Man, you got that on Maggie never
did it's running. We just open tonight, so it runs
up six performances the limited engagement.

Speaker 8 (13:53):
But if you come out, we hope to uh, we
hope the best, and we hope to take it the Broadway,
you know, and then we hope to do the movie Okay.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Is written by the.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Reason and Shot. Well we call it tag for sure,
and uh, she is a.

Speaker 7 (14:15):
Writer.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
And you've written some stuff too that I didn't.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
The one of the text of professional development. I. I
focused on time management and different things in it to
make them experience because I have, uh, a business plan
for a school and the school is a performing art

(14:44):
school border and day order, and until I had made
it a nonprofit, but they kept telling me that nonprofits
are really owned by the government.

Speaker 7 (14:59):
You know.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Once you have a Jorge make it easy to take
you up they want.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
It's really hard to unless you have your own vision
and your create.

Speaker 7 (15:13):
And you have a good you know, uh program of
your own.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Then it's hard. Unless you have that, you know, it's
hard to actually do your own thing and not a profit.

Speaker 7 (15:30):
I've done that, I've been working on.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I never meant in non profits for home by the government, you.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
Know, and.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Well, The thing is that you are beholden to the
people giving me money. Not for profits means not for
a profit means that you are living on grants and
you are doing a government contracts. Right, yes, So for instance,
I'm doing you know, some work with people.

Speaker 7 (16:01):
Who have aids.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Right, the state gives me so much money to do
and other people, you know, the the billionaires and different
agencies will often give me money to how these people
with aids. Well, but I have to I have to
admits all that money. I have to pay my staff.

(16:26):
And if they decide they don't like you anymore, it
makes us pull their money. And I'm asking you know,
it's not.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Decide they don't like you. They can also get rid
of your door, you know, the profits. So they can
get rid of you easily after you work so hard
and it together.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
You know that seems like everybody you know that it's hustling,
and I mean it's it's a what it's you know,
I mean, I want that's the bad part.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
The good part is that you know, not for profit
agency doing one amazing work, you know, amazing work.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
You would be a pretty.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
We will be in a bad place with Albom, you know,
so either yeah, okay, well that's what it is.

Speaker 7 (17:22):
Uh, but not for proper means.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Not for proper people are making money.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Well you know.

Speaker 7 (17:30):
That's a double mind.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, okay, well I think maybe we should do.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
For a profit. You know, I'm not being around the bus.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I really want you guys to come out and uh
see these productions we've got. Ah, that's a talented cash
some of the people.

Speaker 3 (17:52):

Speaker 3 (29:49):
The man is dangerous and people have all trying to
find out. There have been loads of people who said
that they're wanted the tramp a dollar food sorry for
him already already yes, picks for him for having spots
based on his behavior, I mean, but.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
Too late now to make.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Now he's there well, you know what's gonna happen. Something
some might happen to him, God forbid, and then do
we get there, Yeah, you gotta get banged. That's basically
what's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
He's gonna get banged. Now. I'm not over this, not
even working with I'm not well, I'm not crazy what
I mean.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
But I think Bands has a He has an Indian wife,
and I think she might be able to keep him
in line, because what's tramp he's gonna I think he's
gonna have that answer to the development. The tramps don't care.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Okay, he's just crazy, you know care.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
He beats the system and he's gonna enjoy his next

Speaker 7 (31:15):
You know.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Uh, but uh, you know it is what it is.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Uh. But his pick that.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Ain't going on, that didn't go and see that didn't fly.
He's already already dropped out. That's that's good, that's good.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
He not he not only dropped out, but he quit
his former job. So they wouldn't uh, they had sex
chimes against so they wouldn't prosecute it. They wouldn't investigate,
you know, and then he had so much uh stigma
from uh the other Republicans doctor that uh you know,

(31:54):
Tramp probably just put him beside as they look, man,
we can't have that.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
You gotta go so go one day and just like
his boy Giuliani, Giuliani is just out in the cold.

Speaker 7 (32:11):
He is no love.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Lost.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
I know, my man, his home look that damn. Yeah,
well he did some rank ship to the stuff.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Yeah yeah, he ended up a tramp, but he did
it for He did it for Tramp. He did it
for Tramp.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
You think Tramp's gonna uh pardon him?

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Yeah, you know, I do believe that there are a
whole bunch of partiers coming.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
I still he did a lot well, I think I
think uh uh, Joe Biden needs a part in his son,
you know, I mean, what the hell he should do
a bunch of parts still on.

Speaker 7 (32:55):
His way out.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
I mean, you know, Joe Bidens have forgotten man, but
nobody even thinks about who he is. He's still the
President of the United States, but he's forgotten this. He's
still President Tramp one and he got powered. Okay, he
can do something in his last month. You know, you know,

(33:19):
you good and you know whatever they want to say
about that man. He is a real articier.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
You know.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
I felt way more comfortable with him than I did
with was I want to deal with with Tramp.

Speaker 7 (33:33):
That's that's a fact for me.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
But yeah, I don't want to give himself.

Speaker 6 (33:44):
Not to uh.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
A band zone. Michael Harper. I think that in his name, uh,
Barry Town. I think the partner, I mean, I think
the family. His name is Harbor, you know, so it
can't me too far, but I noticed the work.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Uh and uh, and it's just giving him a shout out.

Speaker 1 (34:13):

Speaker 7 (35:49):
Then yeah, we're not married, but you know we will.

Speaker 3 (35:53):

Speaker 1 (36:06):
To Jay, I think you're gonna have to let it,
let it come back. She was off tonight and tell
the things way.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Evidently we were at We were at Symphony Hall. Now
you know this is very cool.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Brother.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
We were at Timpty Hall to watch a brother name Kim.
He is a piano player and he uses the kid
Wood Academy Marching Band in his live show on stage

(36:46):
at Simpson Hall. It was awesome, broll awesome. Yes, kim
Wood Academy, our kid would Academy, Sir, yes, sir, yes, sir.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
And he used.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
He used a kim Wood marching This is actually the
third performance that the kim Wood Marching Band has done
with This brother's name is Joshua or something.

Speaker 7 (37:13):
He's a piano point.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
He had a wonderful, amazing jazz man. And they are
partnering with kim Wood Academy to put on the show
Wow and day and I went this tonight and kim
was awesome, and of course he guess will you know
who was there was Bethany Pickens. You know, Bethany Pickens

(37:39):
was the musical director for I mean the what is it,
the whatever it is for kim Wood for ten years.
She was the director at kim Wood for ten years.
She just retired like you know last year. Really beth Pickens.
In case you guys don't.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
You know is so I mean it's the daughter, the daughter.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Willie Pickens, the famous.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Uh jazz right.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
And this brother Josh was playing tonight. Josh was playing tonight.
You know, was a prodigy of Willie Pickens. He was
at the house, right, and so he comes better me
that's on safe with them you know, just kind of
ug and and you know, love me on the students

(38:30):
who will want her students? And you know it was
an amazing performance from amazing. Well that's great, great, definitely definitely,
And I went to a lot with you. Uh seems
a little tight.

Speaker 7 (38:47):
Uh, but she's a she's a real deal.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
I mean she is a real giant right now.

Speaker 7 (38:54):
She's a real deal.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
She's a real uh jazz music. She took after her
dad and mom concern uh uh she is locally, locally
and internationally and uh exactly right. So you guys, you know,
check out Bethany. See that as me pictens.

Speaker 5 (39:19):
You know.

Speaker 7 (39:19):
Also where was the concert at man? It was at
Tympany Hall.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
Okay in Sympony. So and so.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Does the band travel with that guy everywhere he goes.
I'm not sure what happened.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
I think, you know, this connection with kid Wood is
probably due to Bethany and his connection with Willie and
you know how connection with Kim.

Speaker 7 (39:48):
Wood and his music.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
You know, awesome music, I mean really something very different,
not like the normal jazz we here, although though it
was clearly jazz.

Speaker 6 (40:03):
I.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Just think that concept of uh uh uh, you know,
playing a pianist playing.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
Up there, and then the jazz band just breaks out.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
But like did they come out and.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Wanted somebody else to stay together at one point? Yeah,
they were all stay the whole time. The first the
marching band comes out, come marching out, you know, the
band of the drums and and the big tubas and.

Speaker 7 (40:31):
The whole thing and on this on the stage.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
On and after the hall.

Speaker 7 (40:40):
The music is you know, you know, we are our
trend people, man, we are we are.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
We are bro And it was just so you know,
all the drums and rhythm, it was still you know,
the marching band kind of you feel that in the team,
but it.

Speaker 7 (41:01):
Was something else.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
It was it was jazz was more loose, it was
more easy.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
And and then then the bank, the jazz band came
out and in the jazz band that was a tuba player, uh,
which were in sea and he was back and there
was a bass player who was equally in this product.
He was just ridiculous. He was he was rocking and

(41:29):
he's just rocking that bank and the tuba player was
by along with him. He had this tuba and the
bins doing the same line. Oh man, it was so cool.
It was so cool.

Speaker 9 (41:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean then the mic for the
tuba his way up here, right, yeah, because how that
tuba is way up there.

Speaker 3 (42:00):
The horn, I mean, the the actual horn is a
bobby and so that mics thing had to be up
this h the guy.

Speaker 7 (42:09):
Who's playing.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
The white guy, the white Man again. Yes, where a
brother on the base and they were they were just
vibing vibe.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
It was crazy.

Speaker 7 (42:27):
There was a big the drummer. The drummer had a.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
Tea plate or a metal plate.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
Behind him, right, and I thought.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
It was a screen at first until he started jumping
on it.

Speaker 7 (42:43):
Until he started drumming on it. It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
Oh so it was. It was like a piece.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
Okay, I love it. I love it.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
I love this kid and you.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
As you have And you haven't seen anything like that
before that that I've seen.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
I've seen. I've seen be grateful that right, grateful that
have drums. They have a crazy drum part of their show.
I've seen different parts of that, but I've never seen
like that. No, No, a great show at the ending,
but the single long thing that you know, it was

(43:26):
just amazing.

Speaker 7 (43:28):
It was just a really kind of homegrown show.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
So you played percussions too, right, yes, yes, yeah. So
what we're gonna do before the end of the year is, uh,
we're gonna have a talent name where okay, people can
call in and play, where they can call in and

(43:58):
sing a song or uh poem reason poem right or
uh uh you know whatever unique talent they have that
we can uh put on the radio as well as

(44:20):
you know, I can patch them in the i G too,
but this way they could perform on the radio.

Speaker 7 (44:26):
Also.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Also, I would like to have some jokes. Okay, I
want to I'm gonna get people the best.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
Jokes that you having a comedian natural wedding was the
coolest thing I've ever seen. I ain't gonnat. That was
one of the coolest things that I ever seen because
that brother was funny and it was no one.

Speaker 7 (44:51):
It was so cool that was that we.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Had a brother. The brother's name was Reggie Red and
uh he is an up and coming comedian all over
the world. He actually.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
If you go to YouTube, he's on YouTube, so you
could say.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
Reggie Ridge and uh he does a great impersonation of
Denzel the Washing Yeah yeah, yeah. Now now everybody went
to back in the day he was the one of
the first did Denzel and he also recently he has
a book out written by the great late Bernie Mack.

(45:42):
Bernie Mack was one of them in the day and
uh so his daughter put out a cook on his
on his life and Reggie Redge.

Speaker 7 (45:56):
Uh did the audio book.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
He did the audio Oh cool, and Bernie and Bernie's
uh and Bernie's wife, so he does Bernie Mac two.
So it's a big, big shout out Reggie.

Speaker 7 (46:10):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (46:12):
His name is Reggie rand from Muhammed on Facebook and
he is also on Instagram and also uh uh YouTube

my son at one point that, uh, you know, because

(46:37):
you don't remember in fight. I said, well, you guys
are real fortunately because you have the enemy and you
have YouTube. You know you could do for YouTube. Okay,
you just read anything.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Now we had old, dated encycled encyclopedia.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
It's like the Britannica, and you had to have the
good versions. Everybody didn't had a good Verden.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
And you couldn't even missing a book. If someone took
out fire left.

Speaker 7 (47:17):
And left and now you've missed at him for everything
that is done.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
Gets you did.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
It well and it's amazing. I wanted to learn how

or if you haven't math.

Problems, or you want to get into your Tabla because
the data stuck.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
Yeah, uh, but you love you.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
I do not. Morning, I went to charge my car
because I can't charge it at home anymore because I moved, right,
So I go down to charge my car and the
charge part on the car went to open, right what
And so I went to the YouTube and found out
how good? Okay, so the YouTube ykay on YouTube? Find

(48:30):
out how to get in when it gets stuck. And
that's what I did.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
Wow, YouTube has everything.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
You knows everything, those.

Speaker 1 (48:40):

know everything for that, but it's the older people that uh.
I must heard along in the place that they said
only only old people do Facebook. That is true, I mean,

(49:08):
and they do all this other stuff, but they do
not it's the old people they do basically, and old
people get a kick.

Speaker 3 (49:15):
