(08:25):

He got bit by the bud. There's a couple of
people in my family that that's actors and stuff like that.
So but I got some active stuff to tell you too.
So as a matter of fact, and I got y'all attention.
I don't know if I could do that and that,

(08:46):

Speaker 8 (09:42):
It's like your thinkerchip.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
All right, all right, enough of that, Okay, cut it?

Speaker 7 (09:49):
Nick gains a comic.

Speaker 1 (09:53):

but I further do. I got a partner in time,
not a partner in crime. Although we met it. We
met it done some stuff back in the day. My brother,
my brother where yet Okay, let's see if he pops on.

(10:14):
My brother's a therapist, and so we were trying to
regroup ourself, you know, and we might have some some
some counseling, because everybody needs counseling, ain't that right? Brother?

Speaker 8 (10:27):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (10:29):
How are you? How? How are you? My brother?

Speaker 8 (10:35):

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Yeah? Well we we we got the best medicine for
COVID and stuff like that. Hey, I have worked out Okay,
so I've been knocked wait knock on? Would yeah? My brother?

(11:06):
Well that's great, that's good. That's good. I'm on a
I'm in a different California, is she? Yeah? Yeah, well
I got I got mind about two feet away from me.

Speaker 8 (11:21):
Okay, I'll.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Hi, he says, Hi. She right by me? Give me
director notes. Yeah, you know, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (11:39):
I don't know what I'm doing.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Hey, hey, we you know I go by the grace
of God. Uh you know, I've been Uh yeah, I
told you this life it's it's it's it's a journey,
you know, but uh man, gods, it's a crazy kind

(12:02):
of journey. I told people. People don't realize it. But
one of my first auditions was against famous actor and
I didn't know, and all I kept hearing it was
a guy in New York and audition for this movie

(12:23):
called carbon Copy, and y'all can look it up. It's
with George, an actor named George Siegem and some other
lady and whatever. But it was about a white father
who had who cheated somewhere along and did it to

(12:45):
his black maid or something like that. Anyway, they had
a son and they were looking for somebody that was
light skinned, you know, to look half white hat black.
So I didn't think I had a chance. And I
had an audition and they called me back, and then
they called me back again, and then they were going

(13:05):
to give me like a ticket to go to New
York or call back or something. And it didn't work
out because they said it was it was between you
and another guy. And so when I saw the movie,
they said the New York guy got the movie. And

(13:25):
so when I saw the movie, it started Denzel Washington,
So I said, wow, he was nine. He was nineteen
years old, and I must have been like sixteen, sixteen,
something like that, seventeen. But I remember the audis because

(13:48):
it was a big audition because the guy who directed
Cooley High. His name is Michael Scheltz. Michael Scheltz direct
The Coolie Hat, so he was famous for that movie.
But he also directed The carbon Copy so and now.
So I was like, oh, I'm god, this is for

(14:08):
Michael Sefts, you know. And uh and that's what happened.
So I said, if I see Denzel be like, bro,
you beat me out? Yeah that so boy, there you go.
See That's what I'm saying. Don't that look like me?
Don't that look like me? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

(14:32):
yeah exactly back in the day. I don't know. But anyway,
I was just tripping because my mom, it would always
tell me that Denzel looked like my dad. And then
I saw a picture of Denzel. There's a there's a

(14:53):
movie called The I don't know it's it's where he's
dealing with some terrorist so whatever him be and that
Bennie and there's a point where he's sitting with his
hand on his head like this, and I took a
picture of it because he looked so much like my dad.
I took a picture of it and then I sent

(15:16):
it out in the text to my to my family,
and it was like I said who is this and
they all said it was my father. But I'm just
trivia tripping anyway. Uh but uh, listen, we got some
callers on the line. I think this I hope this

(15:39):
is my buddy from uh all the way from Singapore. Uh.
Let's see, I don't know when he comes in one
one one, we don't know. Let's see. Hello, you're man
about town. You're on the air. Who's it?

Speaker 9 (15:57):
Hello, Doun hard done, Ron Harper?

Speaker 1 (16:00):
How are you, my dear friend, my.

Speaker 9 (16:08):
Oh very much, you too, my dear brother.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah, and so.

Speaker 9 (16:15):
Because I was sick, hun mon and as you can
seek and still I cannot talk clearly. But but also
b TR was done, so it was very hard to

(16:38):
connect to you guys.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
How how are you now? Uh? Huh to.

Speaker 9 (16:48):
Can't you know I had a big operation.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Don Oh my goodness.

Speaker 9 (16:55):
Yeah, so yes, everybody, it's good. Don't eat drunk food.
Don't eat you know all those yeah fast food because yeah,
you can't get the buy a hard county.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Oh my godness, Oh wow, I.

Speaker 9 (17:21):
Have six.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Six by pat surgery. Oh.

Speaker 9 (17:30):
It cost in Singapore about three hundreds thou thank thanks,
but they didn't you know you did us that much? Wait,
but I have gone through a lot of test think
to come.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Oh wow, my brother, good God, God bless you.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Man.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Six life has lots, Oh my god, a lot. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (18:06):
Yeah, yeah, it's very light.

Speaker 9 (18:09):
I ask everybody. Hell is, watch what you eat?

Speaker 1 (18:13):
He live, but you.

Speaker 9 (18:17):
No sugar drinks anymore?

Speaker 1 (18:20):
No. I mean.

Speaker 9 (18:23):
As a result, my diabetics got better, very good. I
mean I don't need anymore shot for my diabetics and
many many other business that I have had and it's

(18:44):
become much much better. So it was all from the heart.
It was the coronary artily dis Oh jeez.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah man. Yeah. And I'm I'm I'm a bad example.
Yeah I've been uh yeah yeah.

Speaker 9 (19:08):
Some people need to make good decisions, go to eat better,
better everything. Yeah, your life, you know it's not good.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Yeah right right yeah yeah. Yeah. Well, well my brother,
you stay well and thanks for calling. I don't want
to keep you because you got to say God bless you, Michael,

(19:46):
thank you. Oh wow. Yeah, well I didn't expect to
hear that. Let's see, he had a he had bypass surgery.
He had six six bypasses. You know most people have

(20:09):
you know, one or two or triple bypass. He had
a triple bypass he had six you know, so that
you know, I was all talked. Yeah, that's not good,
my dude. That you know. This comedian said, you know what,

(20:32):
both people get together and they talk about talking about
they talk about who died. And it's true, you know.
And I don't have to make a light of it
because I had to give a shout out to a good,
good active friend of mine. He just passed away. The

(20:55):
name is Clifford Golbert, Cliff Golbert, and uh he was.
He lived in Gary, where he also moved to LA
when I moved to l A. So those that haven't
heard the Cliff did make his transition and uh, and
it happens, you know, especially when we get our age.

(21:20):
You know, I think, uh, next next week's show, I
think I don't know what's on between. Well, got to
do an end of the year show and try to
you know, talk about the the events of the year.

(21:43):
But this year, I mean, this week is uh fucking
Jay jay Z going down man all the money in
the world. Because I heard some.

Speaker 8 (22:00):
I heard the wh.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Yeah, well he hey, uh Jay my dog wanted to
get in the shelf. No jay Z Okay, So before
Beyonce and before jay Z, the family man. Jay Z
was you know, selling drugs and and doing he was

(22:30):
living the life. So now here's the deal. So him
and P Diddy, he partied with P Diddy, He went
to those parties and they they did it. Now the
quietest that has kept what I hear is that also

(22:52):
before jay Z was with Beyonce, Beyonce was one of
the girls at the party. She was like exhibit A
because they said there's some girls there. And I heard
that jay Z and Diddy both did it to Beyonce

(23:15):
and Jennifer Lopez back in the day when and when
people were freaking out. You know, people did a live,
wild sex when they was younger and did that shit.
Now apparently that's the rumor, and supposedly all these names

(23:36):
are going to come out as they like I said,
now jay Z's coming out because apparently they did it
to a girl that was underage at the time. Now
she was at the time thirteen, but this case is
twenty years ago, so you could have been a a

(24:00):
three twenty years ago, did some sis and didn't think
nobody was gonna come back and say something. But this
girl then again jumped on the band wagon. She said,
it was sis everybody else get paid, you know.

Speaker 8 (24:16):
So uh and you know it's you know, I tell
a story, a true story that happened in my life
that taught me that the call means I was supposed
to be a counselor, to be a therapist. And it
was a thirteen year old right mixer who chose me

(24:38):
to help her find health. So you know it's you know,
it's you're gonna have any idea how that's kind of thing?
How best a young person? Yeah, and so many of
our young women. And then I've got to do that,

(25:00):
especially in you know, in the show business people.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Right right, right, Okay, we got another company, we got
another collar on the air that's bringing in. I think
I might know this is when if I, uh, let's
see about what's going on. How you doing? How you doing? Brother?

(25:31):
Happy New Year?

Speaker 10 (25:33):
Saying hey, look, I wanted to tell Singapore Mike, I
hope he gets better, having heard from him in a
long time.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah, and uh he said he had bypass surgery at six.

Speaker 10 (25:46):
Yeah, our condole us go out for his health to
improve so he can uh get back into the swinging
things that take your time and do like your physicians saying,
don't get.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
In no hurry.

Speaker 10 (26:04):
Yeah, but uh, I don't hardly believe that about JAV.
He's one of the people, the young people that I
really respect.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
And yeah, well you know, but uh, you know, everybody
was young and stupid at the time. Jump that stuff.
You just don't think it'll catch up to you.

Speaker 10 (26:27):
But you know, well, how old was he?

Speaker 8 (26:30):
Now?

Speaker 1 (26:31):
How was JV? Now? I think he's uh forty, forty fifties,
you know.

Speaker 10 (26:41):
But you know he said forty. That was twenty years ago,
and that made him in his twenty Oh yeah, definitely, Yeah,
that don't Yeah, and and and who's seen it? And
where's the proof? You know, you've had a lot of
that stuff been going on. We're starting off with Bill
Cosby Tyson and you you're probably more abreast with who's

(27:03):
been involved in it than I have. But he's women,
uh come up and try to get this money decades
after something supposed to have happened.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
That's just totally ridiculous. Yeah, yeah, I mean, you know
that's that that's that's the you know, it's the old
ballplayer syndrome. You know, you know why they don't be
illegally raped that girl, and you know, and.

Speaker 8 (27:33):
It's amazing that you know, in most incasions, you know,
these men could have anybody want, but that's the one
they don't want.

Speaker 10 (27:46):
That you gotta happen.

Speaker 8 (27:47):
Yeah, struggle them and whatever they got to do to
get them throw up when they got but they want
to go in and pay something.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Yeah, he calor and he checked out her Jamie Fox
special on netflick.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
No.

Speaker 10 (28:05):
And I wanted to say one other thing too, because
you know back that, you know, early on Beyonce wasn't
wasn't the prettiest apple in the in the basket.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Now exactly, well, they.

Speaker 10 (28:20):
Want beauty queen back in the day man.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
And apparently she was in on some of that stuff.
So they just hasn't come out yet, you know. Just
unfortunately it came out at the time when his daughter
and her movie premiere and his daughter twelve years old. Yeah,
so they did a new make a remake of The

(28:48):
Lion King. They did an updated version. It's called Mufossa
and jay Z's daughter Blue is playing one of the roles,
the animated roles. She's and they were at the premiere
of the Girl's movie and of course she was it

(29:09):
with the rape allegation that he raised a thirteen year
old twenty years ago and his daughter. He's with his
daughter and she's twelve.

Speaker 10 (29:21):
So you well, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Who's seen it?

Speaker 10 (29:24):
Why come they didn't come up? It's same thing with
Mike Tyson. The girl left that morning, got in the cab.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Why did she go.

Speaker 10 (29:31):
Straight to the police?

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Right? You know what I mean? Yeah? Yeah, well you know,
answer those questions.

Speaker 10 (29:42):
Absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
What were you asking me? No, I was asking you
about it. Have you have you seen the Jamie Fox special? No?
I haven't. Yeah, it's it's really good. It's good. Yeah,
it's it's it's kind of how many in this series.
He's just telling them what happened to him, you know,
and yeah, yeah, it's it's a detailed thing, everything he

(30:09):
went through, and uh, you know, and it's funny. You know,
it's funny, and uh, it's you know, most of them.
But it's a good piece. So I was just saying,
you need to check it out, y'all need to check
that out?

Speaker 10 (30:24):
All right? Well I will if I get Tansa anyway.
I'm gonna let you get back to your show. I
was cooking something.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
I'll talk to you later, okay, brother, all right, thanks, Well, yeah,
that's uh, that's our tramp supporter. Yeah. We when he
first kept calling in, we had to uh, my boy,
the guy that was I was partnering with, he would

(30:53):
he were roasting. They get roasted. I mean he was
talking serious stuff and rry Tip you know. Ship didn't
like him. But then Jip passed away, you know, so
he kind of softened up. We listened to him, you know,
but uh, you know, straight up Republican guy. Brother, it's wrong,

(31:16):
you know, and so I don't even bring it up.
You know, he won fan square on that one. Americans
just ain't ready. Broad ain't ready.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
He ain't right, man.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Like I said, I've been trying to regroup just for
the rest of this year because we only got like
two more weeks. So you know, I gotta get a
whole new game plan.

Speaker 8 (31:48):
Up in the row and.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Get you.

Speaker 8 (31:51):
It's gonna be chaos for the next four years.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I'm thinking that, you know, it might be. You know,
everybody they they're pushing this bitcoinsh it now. And I
knew one of my kids, you know, telling me his
friend made like thirty thousand dollars. And now that you
got this man in the office. They're gonna try to

(32:16):
make some money off of that shit, But I don't
believe in it. And I'm believing that everybody's going to
eventually have to take their money out the banking and
buy an AK forty seven. Yeah, that's the one, you know,
you know, how to get rid of control the gun control?

(32:37):
This how this is my solution for gun control. Let
every black man over eighteen buy AK forty seven. They
will be controlling this shit. It won't not be happening.
That's the solution to gun control. Let all the black
people get a gun for free. Controler. Hey, hey, hey,

(33:08):
you know how to you know, how to stop kajackers.
Let these motherfuckers kajackers stick shift man, you know you
want to stop.

Speaker 8 (33:28):
You can't you.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Hey, these these motherfucking black people, they want to shoot
up each other. Let the roll they has in iraq. Okay,
don't send them to prison. Sending diraqt. You know, hopefully
they'll get to be better shuters than than what they're
shooting now. Because these kids, they can't even hang. They
shooting in windows and killing people. You know, I think.

Speaker 8 (33:57):
The best way to uh control, you know, is the
charge fire pen Buss Buller.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 8 (34:10):
You said twice before you.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Use it, they said, uh uh. Chris Rock also said,
you know when when the gay marriage was uh gay
marriage was they were fighting for you know, the gay
marriage rights or whatever. He said, Yeah, I'm for gay marriage.
He said, let him go on to get married and
be miserable like everybody else. Wow. I thought that was hilarious. Anyway, anyway,

(34:44):
uh uh end of the year. It's been a year. Man.
I can't even you know, I had to be reminded
this shit. I think everything gets over shouted by by
Tramp getting in office. That's just just about did it.

Speaker 8 (35:00):
What number of this year we had? Our people are
seven gathering seven years?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Wow? Wow?

Speaker 8 (35:14):
How cool is that?

Speaker 1 (35:15):
That's very cool? You know, it's okay, it's picked up steams,
you know. Uh, I know, I know that where where
it originally started. Yes, and I can remember too so
many life. Oh god, I can't even talk about it.

(35:41):
But there's some some things I found out at the
picnic that just changed my life, you know, you know,
people in coming truth and middenshit fights. You know, I'm like,
what this is crazy? You know, stuff that.

Speaker 8 (36:02):
Uh happened business. Okay, yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Only only thing we missed that we haven't had is
to smoke turkey. When we're gonna get the smoke turkey back? Yeah,
well you know that's that was that was that was traditional. Yeah,
that was traditional. I mean you said all night with

(36:31):
that one.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
And uh.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah yeah now that that would be a good way
to kick off year eight. Yeah, get the turkey back.
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, that was it. We lived for that.
You know, my god, time has passed man, m m

(37:01):
mm hmmm mm hmmm.

Speaker 8 (37:04):
Yeah. Just just Thanksgiving, you know, James family and our
two of my sons were here and one of them.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Boys, see what do you do it out back?

Speaker 8 (37:21):

I see people?

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Is the owner.

Speaker 8 (37:39):
For the house that trying to fry turkey in his kitchen.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
I used to teach uh drama in Ida b Wells
Housing project and across from where I was teaching, I
was like in a field house and the cross was
a two level projects and these mugs was barbecueing in

(38:07):
the hallway. I had never seen it before. They opened
the window in the hallway to let the smoke out,
but the mugs was barbecued in the hallway. Okay, that's like, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
you know what I saw.

Speaker 8 (38:26):
I'll tell you this person. The first time I saw
the birthday last time, I was living in Brooklyn, uh
uh huh uh in the pot Green area and I
go under the under the uh highway. There there are

(38:46):
people having a picnic and.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Using a dumpster at the table as a as a table.

Speaker 8 (38:57):
I was put something over and over a dumpster, and
then when you was the other table, you could tell what.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Yeah, you know, black people be innovative though, you know,
uh yeah, I saw something like that where somebody had
took a toilet and turned it into a grill. You know,
like that was white folks there. You know they This

(39:34):
one comedian used to always have this saying he say
certain things like uh uh, there's the difference between white
folks and black folks. Like black folks say sweet potato
pie and white folks say pumpkin pie. Uh uh. White

(40:04):
people what they're doing. I think Ricky Smiley is doing
white people's Thanksgiving it and black people's thanksgiving. White people's
Thanksgiving is uh, cranberries with the berries, green bean casserole.
Uh uh uh uh a little turkey uh uh. And

(40:29):
black people's was oh and then uh the white people
would have a little yellow cake or something like that.
He say, black people got greens, corn bread, chip lens.
And then he said, and they got turkey, ReBs, macaroni

(40:55):
cheese right right right right, didn't exact. When they got
to the parents, they got uh uh yeah. When they
got to the cakes, they got they got uh uh
carmel k uh, they got socking to me cake seven

(41:16):
up kke. They got all kinds. You know, the difference
between our neighbors, our brothers. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know.
I got a kick out and see it at the
uh the picnic was gunman yea man, Gutman looked bad. David.

(41:42):
I remember back in the day, and remember, you know,
buying some of his vitamins and stuff like that, right,
and uh yeah, I think I got up there once.

Speaker 8 (41:59):
I mean it was like in that condo building in
the middle of the cornerw between fifty third and.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
Right right right right back right by your house there
out of the alley around the corner.

Speaker 8 (42:14):
Right right right, man, but the elevator in the living room.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Right right right.

Speaker 8 (42:21):
It was the whole floor they had the whole floor
and it was ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Yeah that was Hey, hey, do you remember John Goldberg? Right, yeah, yeah, okay,
So John Goldberg, you know, he passed away some time ago. Yeah,

(42:50):
he died and he down another block of of you
was a U a white girl named Nancy Soulesman. Ye okay, okay.
Nancy Soulesman had a sister, Andrea, and Andrea Souldsman, and

(43:14):
Andrea and John Goldberg were married. Yeah, yeah, just to
tell you a little follow up. Yeah, and they were
married for years. So, but he died, you know, he
he was always kind of big. So but he did that.

(43:35):
And uh and then a lot of our uh classmates,
you know, and take that. I go to to the
picnic has always been on the same day as uh,
it's a crew picnic. So I think last year I
went to the picnic in the morning, just walked through

(43:59):
just to see people. But yeah, man, you know, it's
coming up on fifty years since I've been out of
high school. I'm like, but work, it just does not
yehe man, you know, and you know, how you go

(44:20):
and you see some people because some people look the
same and then.

Speaker 8 (44:27):
The picture of Denise Philip Barons and hand it could
have been from camp wow.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (44:43):
And then you know all new Woods, I mean out
of the gallery and they could have it could have
been couldn't have camped.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
Yeah, and then you know camp mind jack As Wow.
That that is I was just talking about, uh that
the whole experience of people and uh, I mean we
had that, you know, it was it was great. It
was some friendships. Uh I talked to I used to

(45:17):
always keep in touch with, uh Debb, Debbie Parmoneer, Ah, the.

Speaker 8 (45:29):
Directors, right, yes, brother you know what his brother was doing?
Mad about town.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Yeah, but uh so uh so. Uh but because they
Dave Dave, Dave whatever his name was he passed I
think it was. I don't know, he lived in Dave Parmoneer.
They'll be trying to remember the names. Uh. But I

(45:58):
talked to Clinton McCready.

Speaker 8 (46:02):
On the face.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
Yeah. Yeah, well I'm talking to the personally. You know,
we talked back on and uh you know, because he
remembers that, you know, but a lot of people. Uh
you know, that's when I first met Maggie and she
was a little pike you know, like wow, you know

(46:28):
our age when you get grown it does. It's not
that big of a difference. But when you're young, you know,
somebody younger, he's just you know, they too young with
you know, I.

Speaker 8 (46:41):
Remember I was when I first saw him, when I
first got cat by, you know some I ran to
Maggie and I you know, I said, you know, I
remember you from call over the place. But one of
the first memories I have of you was with is

(47:03):
in his play with my cousin Pam at the Intarian
church where Chicago, to his wife sing I long with
school right and my cousin and Maggie went to that school.

Speaker 2 (47:21):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (47:23):
It was about something and and different things that they're
going to the body.

Speaker 1 (47:28):
Right right, right right.

Speaker 8 (47:29):
You know, Maggie went right into the.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
From b.

Speaker 8 (47:36):
She went right into the song bro. She remembered it.
It was so cool.

Speaker 1 (47:41):
O God, yeah, yeah, doctor cockle, this I was.

Speaker 8 (47:45):
She said, I was a doctor cocko something or just
I said, bless you God, bless you.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
Unial people remember you know, uh, I did a play
at Kenwood. We did Raising in the Sun. And the
guy that played Walter Lee or my dad, he's on
Channel two news right now. His name is Jim Williams,

(48:14):
and he has another He has another brother named Dorian Williams,
who was like a lighter version of him. I think
he might have gone in York. Yeah, exactly, well here
right right right, well he well, listen, he had an

(48:39):
older brother, Okay, that was a senior and I was
a freshman, so he was garnet, you know, but in
my but his older brother is the anchor man on
Channel two News. So yeah, if you ever get hands,

(49:00):
the name is Jim Williams. He does the evening ten
o'clock news, morning news, all of that shit. But he
went to Kentwood, and a lot of people went to Kentwood,
you know, back in the day, back in the day,
back in the day when we had the Row. They

(49:21):
don't they don't know nothing about the road. That's right,
the road, the road, baby, Okay, we'll be lined up there.
And if if y'all right, if y'all don't know what

(49:44):
the road is, the road was technically Reefer Row. It's legendaryus.
And they'd be out there and smoking, buying, doing all
kinds of stuff, and then the the principal, mister Webber,
would come out there and watch and people would run, oh,

(50:12):
oh man, Lord Jesus, so everybody. No, he could follow you,
but if you could see your name or whatever, but
they would just run and he'd do it just to
shake people up, just to scare people.

Speaker 8 (50:27):
I remember, like eighty two years or three after we left,
after we graduated, they put up metals. I was. I
couldn't believe it.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
What yeah, wow, it.

Speaker 8 (50:46):
Was until maybe five years after we left all Sex one.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
Yeah. Well, you know what, because when we were kids,
it was raris and somebody got shot, you know.

Speaker 8 (51:00):
Know around our high school. We never saw, I think
about it in the school. We knew it was happening
around around the city, but it wasn't happening in school, right.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
But even yeah, nobody was bringing the gun to shoot
kids up. If it mostly was if it was a fight,
you know, you know, I was.

Speaker 8 (51:19):
I was in New York City working in the group
of teens adolescents, you know, school age kids when the
very first uh school shouldn't took place, right, And I
remember never forgetting happened on a Thursday, and that Saturday,

(51:41):
our next meeting. These kids came in and they were
angry because kids gotten shot. They all got shot, and
they lost a friend last week, especially when in the
news but these people who the kid who walked into
high school and shot tell some white people, all of

(52:01):
a sudden, he gets a bunch of attention. They were angry,
you know, any give a shit about this guy and
the people who died because they adult people and don't
even raise raise an eyebrow.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
You know. I just think the killing of these kids
in the school, like Sandy's hook and the Uvalde and flood,
I mean, that's just you know, I don't I can't
even imagine when I was in grammar school if somebody

(52:37):
broke in two shoot out people, you know, I guess
we even have been just dead, you know, because I
remember how remember do you.

Speaker 8 (52:50):
Remember the assembly the day after a shop model the King?

Speaker 1 (52:56):
Mm? Okay, right.

Speaker 8 (53:00):
I was very young, but I remember very distinctly. In fact,
I categorized at my first group session. I remember the
comfort of being amongst those people, and everybody had the
same kind of bearing the headlights, looking as I do.

(53:20):
And I remember for the teachers looking as scared as
I felt. Yeah, nobody knew what was going to happen
next to us. They were black, you know, just like me,
and everybody was wondering what's gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (53:36):
Next Wow wow wow wow. Yeah it was you know,
like I said, it was, it was good. Things were bad,
but it wasn't It wasn't as bad as it is today.
And I think a lot of that is due to

(53:58):
cell phones and the internet. That just we didn't have
any of that to deal with you right, oh no, yeah,
right right, you know, uh, and uh, just the whole
fact that uh, you know, like I would tell anybody

(54:23):
younger than me, you know, when we didn't, the value
of what YouTube is today is unbelievable. YouTube is an
advanced encyclopedia on anything you want to do. You can
put in anything you want to do and you will

(54:44):
get variations of people doing it or uh you know,
it's like the encyclopedia for these kids, it's YouTube. You know.
We didn't have all of that. We had a We
had fucking encyclopedia books that was outdated. It was outdated

(55:04):
and if your right and if your mama didn't spend
enough money and get the the revised edition.

Speaker 8 (55:13):
Every two years.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
Anyway, this ship had Christopher Columbus Discovers America, you know
that kind of shit, and pictures of people right that.

Speaker 8 (55:27):
There was savages in Africa until these Christians from Europe
came and saying them, that's when we're taught. I remember
being a shame to be black behind what I've been
taught about my people. And it wasn't until I read Malcolm, Xicent,
Woman and Chroma and and about the real afric history

(55:49):
that I began to realize.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
You know, my own words, you know, yeah, yeah yeah.
And now they send the band on their books playing
the Finite different the the tramp Boys find the Gold
and try to erase slavery as far as in the book.

(56:12):
So they're not yeah, well yes, we don't we Uh.
I don't think that in my lifetime there'll ever be reparations.
I think I would love to get something.

Speaker 8 (56:30):
You know.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
They tried to do it in Evanston. Uh, they did
some bullshit reparations law and they passed it in Everson.
So what it was was for housing and they made
it but affordable. They did something where they made it
so there were several people that got housing, but not

(56:53):
a mass thing. But they did do some kind of
repend and I urged people to look it up. I
just saw it, I read it, I heard it. You know,
I don't live in ever since. I don't know, but
you know, there was a cat running for president Asian
do and he had came up with this plan. I

(57:16):
forget what his name was. He was real popular. But
he said the companies that Amazon and all these big
companies should pay everybody eighteen thousand dollars. No, they should

(57:38):
pay them the summ of money when they reach eighteen
you know, I think ten thousand dollars or something like that.
And this is what he was proposing, and that he's
going to take the money directly from all these companies
and you know, Amazon, Google, all these big companies. You're right, right,

(58:03):
and they would all and I thought that was a
great idea. That was I think his name of Andrew something.
But he had this whole concept that he was running
for president. He didn't last, but I would love to
see some kind of thing. But uh, out day were

(58:25):
out of time, bro. Think that's something see time flash
when you have a good time. All right, Well, uh,
we got about six more shelves left, and then I'm
gonna come up with a plan where we're gonna rebooth
and then do something in the new year and maybe
on a different day. So I don't know, but for

(58:50):
now we'd be back, same bad time, same bat channel.
