Speaker 1 (00:07):
On this rather special episode we are going to be
broadcasting here and on our sister channel, the all new
Manifestation Meditation Channel, which is being created specifically to empower
your life with the law of attraction. Well, we will
be focusing on developing an attitude of gratitude in this

(00:29):
episode and this is singlely such a powerful meditation it
deserves to be on both channels, so to tie in
with the launch, and because it's Thankgiving in Canada, we
are launching it today. If you want to attract the
life of your dreams or manifest a reality that is

(00:52):
perfect for you, then just go ahead and follow the
link in this show's notes to the New Manifestation podcast.
You know, developing an attitude of gratitude has long been
shown to produce some really amazing benefits in our lives,
such as improved mental health, enhance relationships, increase resilience when

(01:16):
things go wrong, boost productivity, and overall just being happier.
So on this episode we are going to explore what
this magical gratitude is, how you can develop your attitude
of gratitude in practical, simple ways, and of course we
will be doing a guided meditation to really let that attitude,

(01:40):
sink in for today, for tomorrow and forever. Hi, it's
Damien and welcome to your destination for self transformation in
improvement and holistic healing. You know, I do a lot
of manifestation work with clients, and if I'm honest, it's

(02:01):
probably the thing I get asked about most, and that's
been the same for years. Gratitude is one of those
things that people tend to pay lip service to. I
don't think I'm creating any shock is here by saying this,
But people say, oh, I'm grateful for this, but they

(02:22):
don't really put some time into it and meditate on
just how important these things are in our lives. And
this can make a huge difference to our lives before
we even get into manifesting our dreams and wishes. Gratitude
simply makes everything a lot better. We all know that
many people take a lot of things that are granted,

(02:45):
and the reality is that once you sit down and
look at everything that's good in your life, once you
appreciate everything that's good in your life, there's usually quite
a long list. There is something called Ockham's razor. Well.
This is normally used as a way to get to
the heart of a situation very quickly to solve a problem,

(03:06):
to see how important a problem is. But you can
also use it in reverse, So rather than drilling down
into a situation, we can expand the concept. So when
you are expressing your gratitude, just take a moment to
think about why you are grateful. What has this situation,
this person, this thing done for you, What would it

(03:30):
be like to be without it in your life? And
just take a moment and meditate on that. So when
you're going through your moment of gratitude, this will probably
build up a lot more intention and a lot more
power motivation behind your gratitude. So before we get into

(03:53):
how we cultivate appreciation, let's first look at what it is.
In truth, it's fairly straightforward. It's just acknowledging something positive
in our lives. And it really doesn't matter how big
or small. It's just that it's something positive in our lives.

(04:15):
So on a practical level, how can we start cultivating it.
It's a habit. Unlike any habit, it's created by repeatedly
doing it. By creating a journal. If you already journal,
if you write down your thoughts of the day, have
a little area, just for what you are grateful for today,

(04:38):
going through random acts of kindness. If you're grateful for somebody,
if you're grateful to have them in your life, then
take a moment and say thank you, do something kind
to make a difference to their life. And of course
daily affirmations, just letting yourself know, giving yourself that shopping

(05:03):
list of what you're grateful for every day, this constant
reminder of yep, I have a good life. So before
we start the meditation, so before we start to evolve
this attitude of gratitude, just take a moment to make
sure you are comfortable, your spine is straight, to allow

(05:27):
the energy to move through your body. On a deeper level,
it's important for you to realize the significance of the
journey you have decided to make today as you let
old habits and attitudes that are no longer needed just
drift away and decide to look at your own life

(05:50):
with a fresh pair of eyes. Because you may already
know that we all have things that are good in
our lives, people's situations, things we can appreciate. So by
simply taking a moment to focus on those things, this
will help develop an attitude of gratitude and attract the

(06:14):
life you want to have. So as you relax and
drift even deeper, letting go of those old habits and assumptions,
freeing your mind to develop new habits, new attitudes, and
you can just watch it wander away. You have decided

(06:38):
this is your time, your time to relax, your time
to let go. As you drift even deeper, you can
notice the sounds outside the room, those distant sounds that
just seem to drift in the air, no labels or recognition,

(07:05):
just noticing the sounds drifting in the air as if
hearing them for the very first time, and then becoming
aware of the sounds inside the room, those gentle sounds

(07:25):
drifting around you, no need to try and recognize them,
just letting them drift slowly around you. A sense of
wonder at the magic of sound, those beautiful tunes that

(07:47):
echo through your mind, filling you with gratitude for your
ears to hear the sounds. And as you notice the
sound of my voice, the sounds behind my voice, as

(08:10):
my voice goes with you as you continue to relax,
comforting you, relaxing you, as you continue to drift deeper,

(08:36):
noticing any smells around you, some distance, some close, those
beautiful fragrances that dance so gracefully, reminding you of other
times of happy memories, Happy memories you are grateful to remember,

(09:04):
thanking your nose for helping you experience those fragrances. Now,
I don't know how you will find yourself letting go
of the habits of the past and developing a new

(09:25):
gratitude for all that is good in your life. But
you do, and that's what's most important. So as you
take this moment to relax and inside the silence of
your mind, repeating the words as they are spoken, I

(09:46):
give myself permission to develop my appreciation and gratitude for
all that is good in my life. And as you
let those words drift through your body, a constant reminder
of the transformation, you can enjoy getting a sense of

(10:07):
the beginning of a new energy. A change may be
small at first, as it begins to grow right there
in the thumb on your right hand, that energy slowly
moving through your fingers, through your hand, up through your wrist,

(10:35):
your elbow, your shoulder, and all the way down your
right hand side and down your hips, your thighs, even
down into your ankles and feet, slowly moving your awareness

(10:58):
through your toes. That's it. And as you move your
awareness to the thumb on your left hand, gently moving
that energy through your hand, all the way through each

(11:19):
and every finger on your left hand, through your wrist,
your elbow, up to your shoulder, and down to your hips,
your thighs, even down to your ankles and feet, and

(11:42):
through every toe. And notice now that gentle energy drifting
through your scalp. Relaxing your forehead, letting go the muscles
around your eyes, those eyes that have allowed you to

(12:04):
enjoy so many beautiful sights. Grateful for your eyes. Relaxing,
letting go the nerves behind your eyes. Notice how those
nerves go all the way into the center of your mind. Relaxing,

(12:29):
letting go that relaxation you have created, gently cascading down
through your muscles, your jaw dropping, relaxing, drifting open, just slightly, resting,

(12:58):
as that relaxation can be used to move down across
your chest, your stomach, and even into your legs. That relaxation,
that new energy drifting through your whole body. And just

(13:21):
for a moment, notice you're breathing the gentle rise and
fall of your chest as it happens all by itself,
and just allow yourself to take a deeper breath all

(13:44):
the way in, and just hold it for a moment,
just a little longer, and as you breathe out, letting
it go with a sigh, enjoying the flow of energy
moving through your body, grateful for that natural action and
reaction that happens all by itself. Notice the beating of

(14:10):
your heart, the natural rhythm of your body, allowing yourself
to become more and more absorbed in the life the
energy of your body. You can notice words. Notice noticing words.

(14:35):
You can notice your body can relax and your mind
can relax, and your breathing carries on all by itself.
Your mind carries on thinking all by itself, and you
can just watch it wander away, your experience, your understanding.

(14:59):
You're aware. You can just attach and let go, and
my voice can be soothing, can comfort you and ease
your mind as you continue to relax and let the

(15:19):
energy move through to your taste buds, offering your gratitude
to your tongue and mouth for letting you taste your
favorite drinks and the array of food that nourishes your
system to your lips for kissing your partner, or your

(15:43):
children or your pets, and offer your heartfelt thanks to
the sense of taste for letting you engage with all
the flavors of the world. None notice what you feel
with your skin. The temperature of the air on the

(16:05):
parts of you that are exposed, the texture of the
clothing that is keeping you warm, that delightful sensation on
your fingertips that lets you feel the electricity in your
heart when holding hands with your soulmate. To the skin

(16:34):
that lets you feel the texture of sand at the beach,
sense a breeze on the back of your neck or
enjoy a good massage. To wrapping yourself in warm blankets
when you're cold, and stripping off clothing in front of
a fan when you're hot. Thanking the skin for helping

(16:57):
you fill your life in your world. And as you
keep your eyes closed, Grateful to your eyes for letting
you see the world around you, making it possible to

(17:19):
make eye contact with your best friend, to see the
smiling face of your child, and the community you have
chosen to surround yourself with. To your eyes which let
you see art, nature and beauty in all its forms.
To whatever degree your eyes let you see. Thank them

(17:41):
for all they do, for letting you take in the
world around you through the windows of your soul. And
take a deep breath and notice how you feel in
your heart. Connect to the feeling of expect in your
chest as you let yourself truly savor the full spectrum

(18:05):
of your senses. Now let it go. That's it, enjoying
that sensation of gratitude for all that is good in
your life. Now, I wonder if for a moment, you
can bring to mind someone in your life who is

(18:27):
easy to love. Bitture this person sitting in front of you,
see them smiling at you, and through your heart space,
thank them for being in your life, as if wherever
they were at this very moment, they could receive your
gratitude and shower them with your love simply for existing.

(18:54):
The go ahead and pick another person. Repeat this with
as many people as you like, remembering that offering your
gratitude to one person doesn't take it away from anyone else.
Just choosing the first few people who are coming to
your mind and thanking them for being in your life.

(19:20):
Bring to mind someone who has made your life easier.
Thank them for whatever they have done to help you out.
Recall a teacher in your life, someone who has shown
you the way in either a formal or informal way.

(19:41):
Thank them with your heart for teaching you on this journey. Finally,
send your love and gratitude to every single person you
have encountered so far or will encounter in this day.
Thank them for making your more interesting and richer. Take

(20:04):
a deep breath and gather up all the people in
your life into your heart, Hold them for a moment,
and then let the image of them go. Now turn
your attention to your possessions that have the most meaning
to you. Give your thanks to the items you have,

(20:25):
like special jewelry or relics, things that have been passed
down to you through your family, or were given to
you for a specific purpose, like a wedding ring. Thank
your possessions that hold special meaning for you, offering appreciation
for the memories they hold. Offer your thanks now to

(20:48):
the home you live in and all the amenities that
keep you safe, nourished, and healthy. To your comfortable bed,
your fully functioning kitchen, and the running water in your bathroom.
To the walls that keep you warm in the cold weather,
to the windows that open to cool you when you're hot,

(21:08):
to the roof that protects you. You can say thank you.
And now to your clothing, your shoes, and all the
items you have been able to buy that keep you
active and thriving in the world, the books that tools,
the electronics that keep you connected with others, learning new
skills and broadening your horizons. Gratitude to the money you

(21:32):
give and receive, your paycheck, your savings, your bills, and
your abundance. Releasing any guilt or sense of shame about
thanking your material possessions and instead truly appreciating them. And
as you take another deep breath and connect to this moment,

(21:53):
opening your eyes and looking around you, offering your gratitude
for everything in your presence that is holding space for
you to be meditating right now. Give thanks to your
circumstances and livelihood which give you the chance to sit
in stillness, and be grateful. To your health and physical

(22:13):
capabilities that make it possible to sit quietly and improve
your outlook and well being. To the silence that calm
the life, the love that tears the joy, and everything
in between. Be grateful, And as you let your mind

(22:36):
wander and wander over these thoughts, letting them digest in
their own unique way. I wonder if for a moment,
you can imagine a meadow, a beautiful wildflower meadows surrounded
by trees, noticing the beautiful fragrance of the flowers drifting
on that breeze, reminding you of the innersect that pollinate

(22:59):
these flows, these tiny little insects that pollinate all of
nature so we might have food to eat. And notice
the whisper of the wind as it moves through the trees,
a reminder that without these trees we could not breathe
all these simple little things that might go unnoticed. But

(23:22):
without them, our world would be very different. So take
a moment now and think of something in your life
that you may have missed before, and in the silence
of your mind, imagine your life without that now, and

(23:44):
take a moment to let that thought settle in as
you whisper the words thank you, and so before you
allow yourself to drift up completely into consciousness, wakeful in learnness,
or maybe you might choose to drift into sleep to

(24:08):
let the lessons communicate at a deeper level. It may
be useful for you to utilize the opportunity now to
think about what you've experienced, the thoughts, images and understandings,
and how you might use these things later on, from
one day to the next, because you have an unconscious

(24:32):
mind and you have a conscious mind, and these two
minds can learn from your experiences here today some things
that you can utilize to deal more effectively with those
things that have been challenges for you before. And so

(24:59):
before you continue, you to drift up into conscious awareness,
normal wakeful awareness, or maybe let your mind and body
drift in to sleep. It is your privilege to use
this time to become more aware of those things you
can use later on, those learning's abilities and skills you

(25:22):
may have overlooked before, to give you a new view
of the possibilities for a new way of thinking and
feeling and doing things. That's right. Takes some time now,
a brief time that seems to be a long time
to review and plan at some level of awareness. Those

(25:44):
things you may change later on as you begin to
use more and more of you. And you can use
that time now because in a few moments from now,
when you drift up and awaken, or maybe you let
your mind and body drift into sleep, it may be

(26:05):
interesting for you to know that in that drifting, relaxed
state of mind, where thoughts drift by light, dreams that
enter awareness for a time and drift through the mind,
while some are left behind to be utilized later on,

(26:26):
and others are remembered or seem to be remembered at first,
but then become more and more distant, forgotten over time,
and the entire experience can seem so far away as
your unconscious mind protects a conscious mind and leaves those

(26:47):
things behind forgotten but remembered too, and time changes too,
so you can know what a journey has been when
you begin to know that what seemed to take a
short time turns out to have taken a long time,
or what seemed to be a long time was really

(27:09):
no time at all. There for now, whenever you wish
to return to your normal world, you can just count
from one to five as you awaken, or perhaps you
might choose to drift into a sleep, relaxing and letting

(27:33):
all the messages seek even deeper. Whenever you're ready to return,
just count from one to five in the quiet of
your mind. Combat
