In seguito è stata perfezionata la TMS ripetitiva (rTMS).
Grazie alla rTMS il team guidato dal Professor Gallimberti ha ottenuto risultati molto positivi applicandola inizialmente soprattutto su pazienti dipendenti da cocaina, con una significativa riduzione del desiderio di tale sostanza.
