I bet you missed that. Ilove being handed down. It's what I
do. I do it really well. You do you do it really well.
Welcome to Meet Cute, a podcastfor friends Jenda Marris and Priscilla Wilson
get together to discuss all things romcoms, from the classics to the latest

(00:24):
releases. We'll be diving deep intothe world of romantic comedies. Hello again,
my friend. Hi, how areyou. I'm good. I'm good.
Getting a little tired, it's gettinga little bit later over here on
the East Coast, but I'm good. I'm very excited to get into this

(00:48):
movie. How are you. I'mdoing great. I not that I forgot
how much hell of this movie, but it's just such a good movie anytime
I just the moment it starts,You're like, we such a feel good
movie it is. I'm so investedin it from the beginning. Yes,

(01:11):
yes, also, we were talkingabout this earlier, just over text,
but the movie we had to wehad to rent it because it's in It's
in no streaming services right now becauseobviously they know what they're doing. They're
sneaky. M So I've been literallyreplaying it all day, like just because

(01:34):
I'm like, no, I paidfor it, so right, you do
that, man. We tried towatch this two or three weeks ago.
Maybe at this point, my sistersand I went over to my youngest sister's
house for like a Christmasy kind ofday. We baked cookies, we ordered

(01:56):
takeout, we were like in comfyclothes, Christmas music, the whole nine.
And we had planned to watch aChristmas movie and we decided on this
one the holiday, just because it'sso freaking good. And I was so
sure that shit was on Hulu.I had just seen it on Hulu,

(02:20):
and we went to the Hulu appand that shit was not there. They
they're sneaky, man. They likethey put it on a little bit,
like as it's getting closer to aparticular holiday, they put like the the
movies that resonate with that holiday onand then you're like, oh cool,

(02:45):
I have all these movies to watchas it gets closer. But there is
a cutoff point and they will takethat shit off to force you to rent
it. It's annoying, tease you. They're kind of influencers of us streaming
platforms. Think about really sell youinto it, think about I'm sorry to

(03:06):
like go out a little rent here. But think about when we first started
this podcast. We released on Valentine'sDay, and we were like, there's
gonna be a ton of rom comsavailable on the platforms, and they were
up until a certain point, andthen they yank them all off because they

(03:30):
know you're gonna want to watch particularmovies, like the day before, a
few days before on the actual day. Mm hmmm, playing games, man,
I miss cable those days. Ihope it's not too loud in the

(03:53):
background, but this might be afirst for our podcast where the movie we're
talking about today is actually playing oneof our TV's. I don't hear anything.
Okay, good because Cameron Diaz isliterally screaming at her boyfriend right now
her experience. You're in the beginning. M hm oh, I'm so excited.

(04:15):
Okay. Should we do a littlesummary of this movie? Do you
want to go for it? Doyou want me to go for your call?
Go for it? I feel likeI usually do it. I'm gonna
put that in your hands. Ishouldn't have said that. I shouldn't have
said that. Don't see it,No, I think so. Okay,

(04:38):
So we're talking about the Holiday Today, which is, in short, a
movie about two kind of ish ina way single girls that go through a
heartbreak in their own way because theyhave very different personalities, and they decide

(04:59):
to go online and do a homeexchange. It turns out, you know,
fate brings them together to do anexchange on their homes and the rest.
Basically it's them navigating their two weekholiday at each other's homes and neighborhoods

(05:20):
and dealing with the people in eachother's lives. How'd I do I like
it? How can I say?Home great? On the fly? On
the fly? I just want tosay, first off, I love the
entire cast in this movie. Theside characters are you know, they're great,

(05:46):
But the four main roles of thismovie I loved every single one of
them. The score does things tome emotionally. The freaking music. Yes,
I love the score to this movie. It like, I feel very

(06:08):
swept up in the music and alot of times there's not even anything super
dramatic going on, but that musicis beautiful and emotional and gets me thinking
I'm like starring in my own romcom when it's playing. I'm so glad

(06:29):
you mentioned that because I so funnyenough. You know this, I rarely
ever notice music and movies every timeYou're like this song played and I'm like,
what song is that? So forthis movie though, the movie just
makes you feel so good that Idon't know why. I like paid attention
and I was like, oh wait, also one of the characters specializes in

(06:53):
making movie scores. Yes, yes, Jack Black character Miles is a composer.
Yeah, yes, So I don'tknow. I guess my brain finally
clicked and I was listening and thenI was like, oh, that's why
this movie is so amazing. Imean, aside from just a great story,

(07:15):
I think, but it just makesyou feel so good. The score,
the casting, the whole vibe. It's a Nancy Myers movie, so
you know you're gonna love everybody's homelike it's yes, every one of her

(07:38):
films. It's like so comforting, like the vibe, the atmosphere, like
every single one of those homes wasgorgeous and I'd be happy with any of
them. Really, quick question foryou, h Amanda or Iris's house,

(08:00):
Which one do you choose? Oh? No, hmm, I'm gonna go
with Irises. And there's two reasonswhy and Those who know me may be
like, wait, what, becauseobviously I would take Amanda's house in any
other moment. However, I'm goingto Irises for these two reasons my friend.

(08:22):
Number one, it's so cozy andit's in England. And number two,
she has a really cute brother, and yes, that comes with the
house, what about you. Ilove them both so much watching this,
my knee jerk reaction is to pickIrises cute cottage. However, however,

(08:48):
there's snow all around that bitch.I will choose son and palm trees.
I will choose son and palm treesover a snowy cottage any day, as
it's such a lovely cottage. Itlooks so cozy, and the village is

(09:09):
so cute and quaint. The brother'sso cute and quit. But I think
I'd prefer Amanda's house just for thelocation. If I'm going on a holiday

(09:30):
and I want to forget about myproblems, sure, I'm going warm weather.
That's very fair. I think theblinds also are a big selling point
of automatic blinds. Yes, yeah, plus you get author or do I
love him? He's so cute, really cute? Yeah, So it's hard

(09:54):
to pick. It is hard topick, so you almost have to like
really get down to the nitty prettybut you say something earlier about the decor.
And when I think about every singlehouse in every single like place,
because even Iris's job seem cozy andlike nice, like her office was kind

(10:16):
of this nook. Yeah, sooh, I almost forgot. Sorry,
I'm jumping to this other thing. But Johnka, since he's in this movie,
he makes a little appearance, makeshis little like awkward funny comments,
and Catherine Hahn is his uh Iguess partner work partner. Oh yeah,

(10:41):
and I love her too, Yes, yes, I I noticed she was
pregnant in this movie. I thinkI hope that's what it was. Yeah,
and I think she was actually pregnant. Okay, so I wonder and
we haven't done this movie yet,but and how do you know it was

(11:01):
around I think it was around thesame time. But she was very pregnant
for that other movie, so Idon't know. I'm gonna have to go
into a deep dive for that becauseI'm like, man, this woman works.
And just the last thing about thehouses, I feel like, depending

(11:22):
on your mood would also be thedeciding factor in what house you choose,
you know what I mean, becauseI feel like I feel you are Amanda's
house. Mm hmm, you areluxury, you know what I mean.
Like that's that's what I think. The gates open, the blacks are automatic,

(11:46):
like this gen. Yes, thisis Gen. So I was a
little bit surprised that you picked Iris'scottage. It's Jude Law. It's really
hard. I think it's in.Let's be real, it's calling you.
That is true. I have alove affair with that in that accent everything

(12:09):
anyway, But it's true Law.He's so cute. He is really cute.
But you know what, Jude Law. He's attractive, but I feel
like he's very pretty. Like Iwouldn't say he's so hot, you know
what I mean, Like he's he'svery pretty, Like he's very nice to
look at. I'm so glad yousaid that, because yes he is.

(12:33):
And I think this why this movieand Arlock Holmes are usually the ones that
I'm like, oh my god,jud Law, I forgot about you because
this movie he's so soft, heis so offt and I'm just like,
wow, I yeah, I justthat you can't compete with soft. Well,

(12:54):
while we're on the topic. Let'slet's go into sure Graham. Yeah,
oh, I'm so glad we're talkingabout Graham. Okay, he's so
he's so charming, Like if youreally sat and thought about his character,
right, He's this single father, his wife passed away, he has two

(13:20):
young daughters. But you don't knowthat right away. You meet him drunk,
shows up drunk at Iris's doorstep becausethat is his sister, and I
guess when he's out on the townhe doesn't have the girls for the night.
He's getting wasted, having fun andhooking up with all these women because

(13:46):
of that English accent, and he'svery put together. He's very charming.
He is kind of a fuck boy, Like all right, this is where
we end this today. I loveit. But when I was watching it,
I was like some of the thingshe was saying to Amanda because he

(14:07):
like he just the way he answeredsome questions he's talking about, like I
kiss a different woman every night, and like, oh, I have trust
me, You're not bad. Ihave all this experience, and I'm like,
these are the these are the flagsthat were overlooking because he's so charming.

(14:28):
It's because of that damn accent. But no, I do. I
love him. I think he isgenuinely sweet and just seems very taken by
surprise meeting Amanda. Yes, yes, and not to get like so so
deep into him. But I thinkI'm not defending him, but I am.
I guess I I okay, letme say this. I agree with

(14:52):
you. I totally agree with you, because until you find out who he
is, like the children and thewidower, then he seems like such a
dick. Absolutely, But remember whenhe is they're in his library in his
house, and Amanda and he arehaving the conversation by kind of why he

(15:16):
does this or whatever he like basicallysays it's almost like he's just trying to
escape his life. So he's beingthis completely opposite person than he is to
escape. So I'm not defending him, but that's technically a character. So

(15:37):
he is not a fuck boy.No, he's not. He's not like
a dick to her or anything likethat. But the whole like, I
don't want to be responsible all thetime, so I'm gonna be really reckless
on the days that I don't havethe kids could be seen could be seen

(16:00):
as fuck boy behavior. But weknow that he's sweet and genuine and very
sensitive, a good dad. Ilove him, I do love him,
and I think it's hilarious that hejust cries at everything. Yeah, he
cries at everything. At books,he gets caught crying when Amanda comes running

(16:25):
back to like solving. Yes,he was wiping his tears like a little
kid, very distraught, And it'sso funny that he's this super sensitive guy
compared to Amanda, who has likeshe has this hard exterior and she hasn't
cried since she was fifteen years old. So yeah, yeah, I like

(16:52):
that line where he goes, I'ma wheeppaw and like with his little accent,
it's so cute. Yeah, hesays, Maja weep ud like everything
ends it it Uh oh, Ilove it. You're right, it is.
It is the English thing. Okay. He's basically telling her I could
very much have an STD because Ijust bang everybody in the village and she's

(17:17):
like, he's so davy. Theother thing about Graham, he fell in
love. I think out of allthe characters, he's the only one that
was like, I am you know, I'm in love and like I love
you right, yeah, and thatshort amount of dime you fall in love.
Yeah, two weeks less than twoweeks. Yeah, yeah, but

(17:42):
I guess I mean when you know, you know, and he for someone
who goes out of his way notto make that kind of a connection with
women, because like you said,he's of using it as this escape where

(18:03):
he doesn't have to worry about beingboth parents to his children and everything like
that. Yeah, I think ithit him much harder. Yeah, that's
true. He's a really good dad. Yeah. I remember the first time

(18:26):
watching the movie, I thought, obviously, you know, oh he's married,
and like before the kids even showedup, like he's with someone.
And then when the kids showed up, I was like, oh crap,
he's married. So because again we'restill not you know, he's a funky
guy that is always so fun whenthe girls they're so they're so independent and

(18:48):
so friendly, and that just seemedlike really good girl. So he's a
really good dad. Amanda got luckybecause those girls loved her from the jump.
Yeah. I think they were. They just seem so excited to have
a woman in their lives. Yeah, that wasn't their aunt, you know

(19:10):
what I mean. And I honestlylike in that situation, I wouldn't even
mind the like three for the priceof one package deal that he talks about.
Wait, tell me more about that. So you I think in a

(19:30):
scenario where a man has children, whether he's divorced or a widower, it
can be very intimidating, Like youdon't know how the kids are going to
react. You don't know if they'regonna hate you right off the bat just
because you're not their mom, youknow what I mean. And to have

(19:52):
these two little girls that love theirfather, that want him to be happy,
be that want that dynamic in theirlife again, like, I think
that would put my mind at easeabout getting involved seriously with a man with

(20:12):
kids, Like if the kids arereceptive, then I'm like, yeah,
okay, okay, yeah, maybethis isn't going to be the nightmare that
it could be if the kids arelike against him dating in any way,
shape or form at any time. You know. Yeah, No, that's
a really good point. Actually,Plus he keeps a really good house,

(20:37):
he is a children are yeah, yeah, they're they're so pleasant and well
mannered and the three of them areso cute, you know, So I
I really wouldn't mind getting involved inthat. With that said, do you

(20:57):
want to talk about Amanda. Whodo you want to talk about? Yeah,
let's talk about Amanda. I likeAmanda. I like Cameron Diaz,
like she's she's so funny and cute. And I was kind of like Amanda,
where like I was the friend thatrarely cried, like unless it was

(21:22):
a movie that would get me emotional, but like in real life I was.
I was not. I was thefriend that didn't really cry at shit,
and it was like a running joke. But now I cry everything.
It takes nothing for me to cry. Cry it songs, I cry,

(21:45):
movie TV shows like forget about differenttiktoks, like I'm a sobbing mess anything
anything, weddings. I used tonot cry at weddings, oh, like
I would be happy for the coupleor whatever, but it never like made

(22:07):
me super emotional like that. Andthen I don't know, I think I
hit twenty five twenty six and Istarted getting really emotional at weddings. I
don't know. W Yeah, wait, I have a question for you,
because so Amanda, it sort ofbreaks for her when she realizes she's sort

(22:30):
of leaving Graham behind and she alsois in love with him. Did you
have anything like that that happened notmaybe like in this type of scenario,
But do you have a moment thatyou like, I don't know that you
just I don't know. I don'tknow. Maybe I don't have an answer

(22:51):
for you because I'm thinking, liketwenty five was when I started dating my
ex husband, but that wouldn't havecontributed to me like crying at like life
things. Yeah, And it wasn'tthat I didn't find them to be sad

(23:15):
before that. It just I don'tknow, I just was able to like
keep myself in check, and nowadaysit is very hard for me to like
keep my emotions in check if Ithink something is sad or emotional like happy.
Yeah, I just cried everything.I'm hoping that's what's happening to Amanda

(23:37):
after that. After that one cry, I feel like for her her story
about her parents breaking up, andit be like totally blindsiding her. Yeah,
And she was like crying herself tosleep every night, and it was
this big traumatic event for her andshe decided get over it tough enough,

(24:02):
and that's that's what it was.She It was like she was like protecting
herself from anything that could hurt herlike that again. And I'm guessing in
the movie, like Graham is theone who helps, you know, knock
her walls down, and she feelsvery like open with him, and I

(24:22):
think it was definitely a sign becausethe ex boyfriend in the beginning of the
movie, she's she's in the middleof a breakup. She and her ex
or she and her boyfriend. They'veapparently been having problems and they're just kind
of staying together, and she thinksthat he's cheating on her, and there's

(24:45):
a whole bunch of back and forth, and he tries to gaslight her a
little bit by saying, like youalways do this. You are like self
sabotaging and every relationship, and thatway you can be right about like,
oh I knew this was to happenor whatever. But it turns out she
was right and he was having anaffair with his receptionist. But he brings

(25:07):
up the no crying thing because he'slike, you're the only girl who's in
the middle of breaking up with herboyfriend and doesn't cry. By the way,
yeah, that was kind of astupid yeah, Like, yeah,
it's one thing to maybe not cryafter the breakup is said and done.
But I'm not giving nobody satisfaction ofseeing my tears as we're breaking up.

(25:33):
Fuck you No, So I don'tthink it's weird that she's not crying,
especially if they're fighting over whether ornot he's cheated. Yeah, all of
that, I'm channeling that into rage. I'm not gonna cry like exactly.
You know. So he definitely triesto gaslight her manipulator a little bit,

(26:00):
and she's not falling forward. Sheactually manipulates him into Yeah, yeah,
I was. I guess we cantouch on him real quick because he's so
freaking insignificant because ew, what awhat a horrible man? I so when
he was sort of like it wasalmost like he was pushing her buttons to

(26:22):
see like can I maybe not areaction because she was already reacting, but
it was maybe a specific type ofreaction. That's probably a better statement.
Like he was just so manipulative andstupid, and then yet he fell for
it at the end, because yeah, he confesses to her that he cheated

(26:44):
a few times, not just theone time. She thought, so yeah,
and then he and then he triedto pull the we've been having problems
for a while. He tries topull the workaholic. She's a workaholic everything
under the sun, besides take accountabilityfor what he did. Yeah, but

(27:07):
it's just it's just further I guess, further confirmation, like that wasn't the
guy for you. Your defenses wereup for a reason. He's trying to
make you feel like there's something brokenin you and you'll never be happy with
anybody. But obviously she just hadn'tfound the right person, so exactly.

(27:29):
Yeah, Yeah, he's definitely oneof those people with the character I guess
that like if you know, ifI can't have you, then I will
make your life miserable versus just walkingout of your life gracefully like they should.
But can we talk about Amanda andhow successful she is in her career?
Yes, I love it. Actuallythat brings Priscilla another thought about this

(27:53):
movie. Everyone has such a cooljob or has had a cool job in
that case Arthur. Yeah, inAmanda's side of the world, like her
Miles, her ex boyfriend, Arthur, they're all in the entertainment industry.

(28:15):
Arthur was this famous writer who didall these movies and stuff back in the
day. She she cuts trailers likehow do you get that job? Yeah?
She does like promo and stuff andputs together these trailers for big movies.

(28:36):
And Miles and her ex boyfriend areboth composers in the film. And
then on Iris's side, both herand her brother are work in publishing.
Like she's a she's a journalist.I think she covers like weddings and stuff
like that for the paper. Andhe's an and they come from a family

(29:02):
of publishers. So loving all ofthat. Quick side note, do you
remember when Amanda was in her lifeflat seat to London when do you remember
all the books she had with her? Yeah? That was insane exactly.
Yeah, Like I was like, girl, and if you're trying to sleep,

(29:23):
you know, at the same time, like come on, I just
I just didn't understand. Why takeout the whole sack, you know what
I mean? Like you're not goingto sit there. Yeah, you're not
going to read ten books on awhat nine hour flight? I don't I
don't even know. Yeah, II don't know how long it is.

(29:47):
I probably should have looked that up. But first off, you know how
she has two suitcases. I feellike one of them is just the books
or something, because it's gotta bethose books. Were hardcover. Yeah,
yeah, and there was like agood chunk of them. Yeah. The
smaller suitcase is definitely where she keepsall the books. She couldn't just pick

(30:07):
one her bikindle or something for yourflight. You know what's funny, though,
is that after she breaks up withher boyfriend, she she has John
Krasinski and Catherine Han in the houselike doing work. Yeah, by the
way, yes, she's airy, got her dirty laundry with her freaking employees

(30:32):
in the house. But she goesto like the cutting room in her house
where they're working on this trailer thatthey've been trying to work on for a
while, and she goes into thisshe's definitely spiraling, and she's like,
I don't want to get out ofhere. I need to take a break,

(30:52):
and then launches into how she keepsbuying all these books but never reads
them. She wants to read them. She doesn't want to read a magazine.
She wants to read an actual book. But tell me, when they
cut to her on the lie flat, see there's a stack of books next

(31:14):
to her, but this bitch hasa magazine in her lap. I didn't
even realize the magazine in her lap. Come on, girl, Come on,
I just honestly, the point Iwas going to make about the freaking
books is like, oh, thatthere could be a connection there of like

(31:36):
preparing her life for a life filledwith people that work with books that I
like that a little bit of astretch. But I didn't even realize the
magazine No, she sheesus, youknow what, she seems like a really
fun girl, very very f failiarthe word maybe and Graham calls her the

(32:01):
most interesting girl you ever met.Yeah, and she also tells him I've
never met a man that talks asmuch as I do. I thought that
was really cute. They she's she'sa fun girl. She's a fun girl
and very successful. So maybe it'sa commentary on like the type of personality

(32:27):
she is, especially with her lineof work. But this girl threw in
the towel a day into her holidayand was like fully ready to leave,
Like was she going to give iristhe heads up that she was going to
go back to her house? Like, oh, yeah, I I don't

(32:51):
know. I thought that was kindof I thought that was kind of weird
that she I mean, I guessit's because she just does in vacation,
like it's like she doesn't know howto relax. Sure, sure, yeah,
because she tried that first night.Well, Iris is having the time
of her life. When she threwherself on the bed, I was like,

(33:14):
Oh, that that bed. Ineed that bed. I need to
be in that bed right now.Yeah. So she made herself very comfortable,
went for a swim. Yeah, she leaned in, She leaned into
the whole thing. Iris. Ilove Iris, and I'm gonna be honest
with you as much as I lovethe Amanda Graham relationship and storyline. Mm

(33:38):
hmm. I'm more partial to theIris and my storyline. I mean,
Iris is a character. I thoughtshe was so cute, and her storyline
is really sad, Like she's gotthe worst one, yeah, out of
all of them, the ex whowon't leave her alone. Like this chick

(34:02):
was about to kill herself in herkitchen over a man named Jasper. Like
the name Jasper on a grown man. Yeah that's who you were going to
Yeah, kill yourself over that's insane. He real quick on him. What
a horrible, horrible man. Moregaslighting more Yeah, like his whole his

(34:30):
whole thing is gaslighting her. Heknew how much she hurt because even when
they first talked in her office, and you know, he talks about the
present that he has for her yetdoesn't have, which is so weird,
Like you can tell, you know, and so he knows how he makes

(34:52):
her feel, He knows, andhe just still pushes through. And it's
that weird. If anything, Ithink, well, no, not,
I think for sure, Jasper's myleast favorite character. But also because I
think out of the side characters,he's probably aside from Arthur, the one
we get a little bit more of. Yeah, because he just I don't

(35:15):
know, he just seems like sucha horrible person for just I don't know.
It's like, I guess I'm tryingto figure out, like does he
not does he want her? Butthen he doesn't know what to do,
Like it's almost like I'm trying tounderstand why he's so terrible. Yeah,
you're right, because I want tounderstand what his motivation is. Is it
attention because you know she's giving youattention, she goes above and beyond for

(35:38):
you, and so you're using herin that way. But it but it
sounds like they get physical mm hmm, and they wait, I can't believe.
I just watched this and hm,he's her actual ex. Yeah,

(36:00):
okay, okay, because my years. I'm like, I know she talks
about like three years of loving him, but like, were they actually in
a relationship. Yes, so shesimilarly quote unquote maybe because I think Amanda
was also in a long term relationshipwith the one guy with Ethan, But

(36:22):
I think what for Iris? Sosimilarly, he cheats on her with someone
that they work with, which isthe woman he later is engaged to be
married to. Yes. Yes,And but even though he's with this other
woman that he cheated on her with, he's still messing around with Iris.

(36:44):
And her storyline makes me so sadbecause it's I think she's so vulnerable she
is, and I think she justwants to be chosen so bad m and
I think she knows that she'll neverbe chosen, but she keeps I don't

(37:07):
know, she keeps trying. It'slike she is working so hard to make
him see and he's not stupid,he knows, they all know, but
he's taken advantage of her feelings forhim. He said, just come back.
I hate that guy and the audacityto reach out to her. She's

(37:31):
on the plane and he's emailing her, Oh, you're going on holiday,
congratulations. How can I reach you? You don't That's what happens. You
don't reach me because I'm on vacation. No, and then up shop,

(37:52):
how does he show up with thegate? Yeah, I want to know
he got it, let him in. But yeah, he shows up,
shows up for the gift. Andagain again it's like, I really want
to understand the psychology of this manbecause he shows up and it's like spending

(38:15):
time with her. Like I guessI almost would have expected someone like him
to show up and then be likeimmediately start talking about like so, how
you know, how are the pages? Because maybe he showed up for his
own interest, But no, heshows up and he's like wanting to spend
time with her. I was soconfused. I'm so confused by that man's
behavior. Yeah, that the wholethe whole scene of him showing up on

(38:42):
the door on Amanda's doorstep and comingin and acting like it's this big surprise,
and then brings her Christmas present thathe had or whatever that he found,
and and then like they're drinking wine. He even calls her out like
he's looking he's looking around the houseand then he comes to her in the

(39:05):
kitchen when she's opening the bottle ofwine and he's like, you are going
to look at me eventually, rightlike oh, stop stop, stop stop,
and then they're on the couch.I'm so happy, Like definitely,
the the two week break gave herclarity, gave her strength, the new

(39:28):
people in her life just kind ofshe had this I don't know, like
an awakening so to speak. Yeah, he's like, yes, he's saying
these things to her that normally shewould just kind of take it and not
say anything else, but she's like, wait, you didn't answer my question,

(39:50):
and then keeps pressing him and thentotally unleashes on him. And I
love it. I love love that. I'm saying that moment always makes me
so happy for Iris. She deservesthat because she is so kind, wears
her heart on her sleeve, likeyeah, and this man is so he's
too much, too much for her, So I'm really I yeah, I

(40:12):
love that part. I'm really happywhen she has that realization. And Arthur
plays a big part in that becausehe reminds her. So she meets Arthur
because he's Amanda's neighbor and he's olderlyand she sort of just wants to spend
time with him. She's realizing, you know, he's really old. He

(40:34):
I think, I remember. Ithink when she went to his house,
she like noticed his dinner was outor something, so she was like,
oh, you know, she's like, I want to spend more time with
this guy. It's what I'm assuminganyway. But he immediately calls her out
and says, you're behaving like thebest friend when you're the main character.
I love that line. Oh sogood for you. This is such a

(41:00):
random question, it just literally poppedon. But question for you, I
guess have you ever had a momentin life where you've had to tell yourself
that, yes, yeah, absolutely, especially especially when it's come to certain
relationships where it's like the fuck Iforgot who I was for a second,

(41:24):
you like, this is unacceptable.I would never accept this kind of treatment
or whatever. I lost my damnmind, And you kind of have to
give yourself that reminder, that peptalk, that like no, no,
like that's not who I am typeof thing. And yeah, that absolutely

(41:47):
has had to happen a few, like more than a few times in my
life. What about you? Yeah, yeah, I think sometimes it takes
a little too long to get there. I think I struggle with that sometimes
I need an author to remind meof that a little bit quicker, call

(42:09):
me out of my bullshit. Butabsolutely, but I think that would be
my one complaint from me to me, It sometimes takes a little too long
to get there. And I lovethe way he tells her so matter of
factly. Yeah, he's not scoldingher. He's just like, there's leading

(42:30):
ladies and there's best friends. You'rea leading lady, so I'm having a
hard time understanding why you're acting likethe best friend. And that unlocks a
lot for her. Mm hmm.I I love I think the reason why

(42:52):
I love Iris's story aside from thefact that I just love Kate Winslet and
her character in general, but shehas I feel the biggest breakthrough, yes,
out of all of them, likeshe desperately needed to get out of

(43:14):
her daily life be exposed to adifferent place. The whole monologue that she
goes into when they go back tothe house and Miles they were at Blockbuster
and Miles catches his freaking girlfriend withanother man, and they go back to
her house and he's just like,oh my god, like I did it

(43:37):
again. I picked the wrong person, blah blah blah. And Iris launches
into this really big monologue about howshe understands why and kind of talks about
her story and when she mentions like, you know, and then one day

(43:57):
you're gonna go somewhere new and you'regoing to meet new people and they're gonna
help kind of put those broken piecesback together. Mm. I like that
that's her journey that like, becausethat's exactly what's happening to her. She
packs a lot in in two weeksher and Amanda, Like a lot happens

(44:21):
in the two weeks, but Irisespecially that chick went to Amanda's house.
She became friends with everybody. She'shosting dinner parties. Yeah, is going
to a Writer's Guild of America ceremonyfor this guy. Like, she gets
so much done into She lean sheleaned in. She was looking for that

(44:49):
transformation and she didn't shy away fromit. I love the whole journey for
her, absolutely agree. And andto your point, I think it's because
her character from the moment she getsto America, she's open. She is
ready, like bring it on.World. So I think, yeah,

(45:14):
to your point, she has Ihave to absolutely agree she has the best
breakthrough. I think her character feelsa little bit more developed to me too
than the rest of all the characters, even the main, yes, other
three main characters, because I feellike I know her better, I know
her more, I know more abouther than the other three combined. Almost.

(45:37):
Yeah, And I mean there's fourmain characters, but I guess someone
could argue that really the two womenare the main characters of the movie.
True, like driving the movie. But you're right, iris you dive way

(45:59):
deeper into her character and her growth. Yeah, there's I love her and
Miles. I love Miles to beginwith. Like a lot of people don't
like Jack Black, I've always likedhim, and he's a very surprising casting

(46:23):
for a role like this romantic comedy, but I love I would have never
pictured him and Kate Winslet like togetherin like a romantic situation, but they
work and they're so cute. Yes, and they hit it off immediately,

(46:45):
even though, like you know,he's got his girlfriend in the car when
they first meet, and he's buthe's just very friendly and kind, and
you can tell that there's something therewhen they met. Yeah, yeah,
it's do you know how we talkedabout We even talked about in the last
episode when the world stops, nothingelse that's happening. That's kind of how

(47:08):
I feel when she had her Milesmeet. Cute because I forgot that the
girlfriend was even in the car, true until she like popped until she popped
up. Yeah, I have toagree. I like Miles too. I
was talking to my brother actually lastnight that we were telling him that we
were gonna film this episode today, and he was like, he loves the

(47:32):
movie, but he I think hementioned something along the lines of like Miles
or like Jack Black's character per se. It just like they didn't maybe write
the best stuff for him, likethey they they could have developed that character
a little bit more. They couldhave, yeah, because it he's very

(47:55):
like sweet and funny, and Ithink they just relied on Jack Black to
be Jack Black, only like amore toned down version of himself. I
agree with your brother. They couldhave. They could have, you know,
put a little bit more in.But he's just I don't know,
he's so he really is the decentman that she calls him in the movie.

(48:22):
Also, the part that made mefall in love with his character is
when they're at his office and he'splaying the theme song that he created for
Arthur, and then he gets alittle serious and he's like, I wrote

(48:45):
one for you too, and he'slike if you were melody and then starts
playing. I was like, ohmy god, Like that part almost makes
me want to cry because you caneven see it in her face. No
one's ever like that or do somethinglike that, you know, And it

(49:09):
made me want to cry because it'scute. It made me want to cry
for her because I think she's sostarved for actual like healthy love. Yeah.
No. And just to make anotherpoint about the music, he said,
I used to all the good notesor the best notes something, yeah,

(49:31):
and you could feel it like itwas so like happy and upbeat and
and it just made you feel sogood. So yeah, I'm I'm I'm
really happy for her. I thinkthey're such a good couple. I but
he is the character we know theleast of right in his background, So

(49:52):
I think it's it's kind of funny, right, like we know so much
about her, we feel like wereally know her, but then with him,
it's like we just know him forbeing cute and that's good, but
I wish we got a little bitmore so we can really because I I
I was actually telling him last nightand this movie's so good that I was

(50:15):
like I had a huge crush onJack Black because of it, Like,
yeah, I'm with you, Ihad I when I watched this. I
have a crush on him. Yeah, he really played the character so well.
I love like his cringiness sometimes andthe boop grace, like he's just
real and he's funky. I don'tknow, I like him a lot.

(50:38):
Yeah, they're very cute together.Did you notice it seems that Arthur always
knew that they were meant to betogether. The one dinner that she hosts
at the house, they're like askinghim if he has a girlfriend or whatever,

(50:58):
but Arthur just keeps like he's likelooking at the two of them.
Yeah, he always knew, hedid. And correct me if I'm wrong,
But I think Arthur says I thinkit's him who says it something along
the lines of like because his girlfriendwasn't in town, and it was something
along the lines of like you know, that's our gain, like it like

(51:22):
like we're kind of glad that shethat that happens, so you can be
here with us type of thing.Yeah, so I have to agree with
you because I remember that comment makesme feel that way that he's like,
He's almost like, yep, thisis great that this happened. And because
Arthur is the one that introduces theterm meet cute to his conversation with Iris,

(51:43):
because he and Iris have a meetcute. Yeah. So I think,
as a writer of sixty years orwhatever, you know, being there
for so long and obviously very wellunderstanding the concept of meet cue, he
saw me cute happened, he did, even though they didn't meet there.

(52:06):
But still, yeah, I likehow that sounds on my head. Yeah.
I I have to say about JasperOh when the engagement is announced at
work and she's like front and centerand she is blind sided, the spiteful

(52:30):
part of me, I'd be like, man, I'd be spilling the beans
to everybody. Yeah, yep,the whole you're his dirty secret and he
gets to Kate have his cake andeat it too. Like that doesn't sit
well with me. Yeah, andwhat's horrible? I wonder I feel like

(52:52):
the girl had to know that theywere together, right, I mean,
sorry, like the other girl whenhe when he and Iris were actually dating
and he cheated on her with thegirl. Mm hm. She had to
have known that they were a coupleand that she was like the other woman,

(53:13):
right, you know. I wantto go with yes, But then,
just to be a little spicy basedon Jasper's behavior, do you think
he almost kept her a secret forthose three years? Like maybe because think
about this, her boss or whoeverthe guy that was that was about to
call Jasper, you know, announcethis news the engagement. If I feel

(53:37):
like if he would have known theywere together, it's kind of rude to
call out Iris to say, getready, you're about to write a great
story about this great engagement and marriageto be. So I have a feeling
that he was low key. Hedidn't want anybody in the office to maybe

(53:57):
know that they were together. Youknow, used to excuse that, you
know, we just just just don'twant those people in our business and blah
blah blah, because only her friendsseemed to know of their history. So
yes, but but I think that'smy theory. I'm gonna go with that
one. Yeah, I I wasthinking about that, Like, I wonder

(54:21):
if she even knew that they weretogether, because from the sounds of it,
he didn't. He just didn't seemvery forthcoming with what they were to
each other, like like you said, maybe she was this big secret from
everybody for three years, like ifwe need anything more to this, like

(54:44):
he was so weird. And thenlike when when she when she launches into
the whole thing about like you treatedme like shit, you made it seem
like it was my fault, atype of thing. Towards the end when
she finally like this is over betweenus, when he proposes that they take

(55:10):
a holiday together and go to Venice, which where is your woman? First
of all, you're in Los Angeles? Where does she think you are two?
That you're even planning a trip toVenice with this woman while you are
engaged, Like that blows my mind. And then Iris is like are you

(55:35):
serious? Like are you free todo that? And he's like, well,
I came all this way for you, And she was like, well,
you're not really answering my question. Are you not with Sarah anymore?
And he looks at her and heseriously says to her, I wish you

(55:59):
would just accept how confused I amabout all of this. Oh oh,
And I'm so happy she had thereaction that she had, you know,
but that infuriated me, Like Ihated Jasper to begin with, but that
that line, Oh again, Likewhat the fuck was going through this man's

(56:22):
head? Like I as an example, Is it really that confusing? This
is Iris is a great woman. If you don't have if you don't want
her, then don't want her.And that's it. Like just tell yourself
you don't want her. Otherwise she'sa really great woman. There's no reason
not to be with her. Ughyep. I think that's the scariest reality

(56:46):
is that there are men that knowthat you're good, and they know that
they don't want to be with youin that way or don't take you serious
enough to get serious, but theywill continue to waste your time, you
know, Like yeah, they mayget a point to do it and not

(57:07):
be honest. Yeah, that's scary. I mean, she's crying over wasting
three years. Some women have wastedway longer than that. Yeah, that's
crazy, crazy. Oh, Jasperpisses me off. Mm hmmm. And

(57:35):
you have like three cheating people. Then goodness that Graham is a winterer,
but you have three cheaters because evenMiles's girlfriend cheats on him, yes,
horribly too, and all all threecheaters, Amanda's ex boyfriend, Miles's girlfriend
I forget her name, and Jasper, all three of them with the gaslighting

(58:02):
with she. She was saying toMiles like, haven't you ever made a
mistake before? And then she's Ibelieve she says to him, It's not
what I thought it was going tobe with him? Yes, yes,
yeah, okay. Immediately it's likeyou don't even want to be with me,

(58:30):
You just don't want to be alone, and you thought you had something
better but you didn't. Oh no, no, no, yeah she did
say that to him, yep,and then crying and she was yeah,
so out of all the three cheaters, I would I would say, Jasper

(58:50):
orst her and then the guy Iforget his name? Is it Ethan?
Mhmm yeah yeah. Ugh. Isthat what you think too? That that
same? Like or worse? Yeah? Form worse to worse. Yeah,

(59:13):
I would say yes. At firstI was gonna say Ethan was worse than
the girl, but but it seemedlike Ethan wasn't really gonna fight Amanda on
the breakup because he was like thingshave been shitty for a while, like
let's talk about that too, WhereasMiles's girlfriend was trying to like get back

(59:39):
with him and waste his time moreprobably to bide her time until she could
find somebody quote unquote better. Mmhm, so I think you're right.
Yeah, that's a really good point. Actually, yeah. Yeah. She
also gets caught verse Ethan who confesses, you know, and sort of like

(01:00:02):
maybe falls in, falls into it, but like sort of gives in right,
throws in the towel sort of thing, and just confesses that he did
right. Because Amanda was suspicious.Mm hmmm, because he's staying late.
She found out the receptionist was alsostaying late. She put two and two
together. But fuck, what's hername? Maggie? Maggie. Yeah,

(01:00:29):
Maggie got caught red handed. Shewas first of all, she's stupid for
being out and about the same townthat this man lives. Girl parading around
with this man, you're draped allover him. You think you're not gonna
either run into Miles or run intosomebody that knows myles? Yeah, yeah,

(01:00:53):
that's wild to me, Like you'redoing that in the town where you
guys live. Yeah. In ablockbuster, she like walked by a blockbuster,
like the man scores movies like orwrites the scores for movies. I
don't know. She did not seemlike the smartest girl. She also didn't

(01:01:17):
seem remorseful. I mean, Ididn't believe those tears at all. No,
they were. They were very beggyin the sense of, again,
I don't want to be alone,so please take me back because the other
ones didn't work out. She probablyalso wanted to use him for any kind
of connections and stuff, because yeah, she was an actress, but she

(01:01:42):
wasn't in anything. No, Likeat the dinner party, they're like,
oh, she's an actress, whatshe been in that we've seen? And
he's like, she hasn't really hadher big break yet, like she's been
in indie films or whatever. SoI think she was using him for his

(01:02:04):
connections in the industry. Probably,Yeah, that's true. That's true.
And the other guy probably was liketelling her he had all this connection.
It turns out he didn't. Wecracked Maggie wide open. That's probably what
happened. M Maggie is selfish.Still Jasper's number one, and is Jasper's

(01:02:30):
delusional? Like I think he's thetype of liar that actually believes his lies.
Yes, yes, yep, Ihave to agree with you. Ugh,
and so in their eyes and peoplelike that's eyes, they're like,
I'm not lying though, because theydon't think that they're lying. They are

(01:02:54):
so fucked up, although or they'llblame the emotions like jasper and say,
can you just accept that I'm confusedright now? Horrible, horrible. Man.
I don't know how she didn't throwhands after he said that. That
would have been my breaking point.I'm gonna be like, okay, oh,

(01:03:15):
I'm so glad for a crazy thingto say. No ill, no,
no no. And she deserved somuch better. So I yeah,
was ecstatic that she and Miles gottogether, and h Miles always complimenting her
about how great she looked, andI love them. Yeah. Now,

(01:03:42):
can I tell you something I don'tlike about the movie? Please? The
ending. I don't care for thedancing. Oh yeah, it goes on
a little bit too long and it'skind of yeah, and the and the
candid laughing and ye, okay, thank you. It's something I've always disliked

(01:04:04):
about the movie, and I justkind of don't say anything about it because
I love the movie so much asa whole. But yeah, it goes
on way too long. It's justweird. Yeah, I think it was

(01:04:25):
when I was rewatching earlier today,I just happened to look up and it
was in the ending now, andit made me feel so uncomfortable. So
every time, every time, I'msuper uncomfortable. Can you imagine how uncomfortable
it must have been to film it? Wow? Yeah, maybe that's why

(01:04:48):
we feel the scene is so uncomfortablebecause they were so uncomfortable because it's so
weird to me, like and like, yes, there's music playing in the
scene, but they're not dancing toit. No, you know what I

(01:05:09):
mean. The dance holls do notmatch the rog at all. They're listening
to Yeah, all these little twirlsand stuff. I was like, wait,
what is happening here? Yeah? No? Also, do you watch
movies with close captioning? Okay,Priscilla, buckle up girl, Okay I

(01:05:33):
didn't until I met you. Ido not know what kind of witchcraft you
used when you said to me,yeah, I always watch everything with close
caption or something along those lines.Witchcraft, Priscilla, because now I watch

(01:05:55):
everything with it. I can't watchanything without close captioning. The only way
I will turn off close captioning isif it's in a format that's really annoying,
like the close captioning that just kindof like runs across the whon,
then I'll turn it off. ButI might as well turn my hearing off

(01:06:18):
because it's like I don't understand Englishif there's no close captioning, I'm like,
what did they say? See youdid that to me, Priscilla.
You did it to me because I, if anything, I always I never
liked it because I didn't I wantedto see the whole scene and everything,
and you know, they always justsort of they can block something important in

(01:06:41):
the scene. But you, I'mtelling you, I met you and something
happened. We watched something or somethinghappened and you said it, and it
was like my brain immediately rewired andwas like you no longer can understand anything.
You have to read it now.So I blame you, and I
will for the rest of my life. That's fine, I get it.

(01:07:06):
But since you do use close captiondid you see the things that they were
saying during that awkward dance scene? No? I didn't. I Oh wow,
wait, I think No, Ididn't please tell me. I totally
missed it. I mean they were, they were all saying different things,

(01:07:30):
but it's it's clear that like therewas no no lines actually scripted. They
were probably told like, just havefun, just ad lib, just whatever.
I stopped. The one line thatstands out to me is, you

(01:07:53):
know, right before they all kindof like do a con the line at
the end, oh, oh mygod. Yes, Cameron Diaz looks at
all of them and she goes thelove station or the love train is leaving
the station. I think she's likecome aboard or whatever, and I was

(01:08:15):
like, Eh, what, that'sso weird. No, now I need
to rewatch it. I still havetwenty hours left on my rental, so
I'm gonna watch the movie again.I need to. I totally missed that
part. That's so weird. Yeah, there's there's too much random dancing and

(01:08:40):
mm hmm. I'm not a fanof the ending of this movie. I'm
so glad we agree on that then, because I I hate it. I
do have one question for you.So Iver sent Amanda do a home exchange?
Would you do a home exchange?Right now? I like the idea
of it, but it sounds cool. However, I wouldn't feel comfortable just

(01:09:09):
leaving my dog behind, like Idon't. Iris leaves that dog no thought
in her head. She does andtrust that a stranger. She hasn't seen
pictures of Amanda's house, She doesn'tknow who Amanda is. Amanda's not on

(01:09:29):
the website, you know what Imean? Oh my gosh, you're right.
So that was a big leap offaith. Yeah, I wouldn't.
Oh, that's a big character flawfor Iris. I think I'm thinking of
this too rationally, but in general, I think I would be open to

(01:09:50):
that as long as it's something thatis like, like really good and vetted,
know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, So I think I would
be open to that. Yeah, would you? Yes? I think also

(01:10:11):
with you, it has to bevery vetted. It's also complicated, right
because it would be like the petstuff, the pets, the cars,
because she was like, we weswap everything, we swap homes, cars.
I don't know how I feel aboutall that you do, just the

(01:10:31):
house. The other thing that freaksme out a bit is the whole I
don't know. I think it's justbeing in someone else's house, right,
I think of like, I don'tknow if there's anything odd happen here at
night that I need to be awareof, right, I don't know.
So even though that's what an airbnbis in a way, right exactly,

(01:10:55):
But I don't know. I don'tknow. I think I would, but
it would have to I would haveto feel very comfortable about it, So
but I don't know exactly how tofeel that comfortable with that. Yeah,
I mean with with airbnb, Alot of times those people are not like
they've never lived in those units. They bought that property specifically for vacation rentals,

(01:11:24):
the whole home exchange, like someonelives here like for real, for
real, and this is the stuffthat they use every day. Yeah,
it's a little it's a little weird. It's in there for sure. But
I do like the idea of it, the adventure aside of me does like

(01:11:45):
the idea of it. I justdon't think I would be on board for
all of it. Like I don'twant someone using my car. I definitely
wouldn't leave Karen or or any petwith somebody and like just trust that they
are gonna take care of it.Like I would bring my dog to boarding

(01:12:08):
and someone can just use my house. Yeah, yeah, you know the
other thing too, which again againit's it's the same thing as an airbnb,
because I'm like, I would Iwould house it Amanda's house as an
example. Mm hmmm. I'm notsure that I would house it Iris's house

(01:12:29):
if I'm looking at it from thisangle. Now, wow, that's interesting.
But I would house it Amanda's.I think this is so different and
so extravagance. I would I wouldhouse it that one. But I don't
know. But again, that's likerenting an airbnb. So I guess I
could rent the ABYMB, but Idon't know. I don't know that I
want to swap maybe, right,I don't know. I think that does

(01:12:54):
actually exist, right, mm hmm. Yeah, and I it is call
home exchange. I've looked into it. Oh, pretty positive. I looked
into it right after watching this moviesometime after the last holiday season, and
of course I looked at England ofcourse, so it does exist. And

(01:13:18):
there is a girl on YouTube.I forget her name, but I think
I'm subscribed to her. She doesthis for a living pretty much. She
doesn't own a home. She justhome exchanges with people all the time,
and she does have to take careof their pets and all that stuff.
Too interesting. I'll minna, I'llfind her and send it to you.

(01:13:39):
But yeah, pretty entertaining. Dowe want to rate this movie? Yeah,
let's get into it all right.Have about you tell me Priscilla on
a scale from one two five houseemojis. Mm hmm, what do you
rate this movie? I'm giving ita five? Yeah, give me it

(01:14:00):
a five. I love this movieso much, And isn't it kind of
funny that, like I feel likeit's one of those movies that makes me
feel like Christmas is near, eventhough there's really not too much concerning Christmas
in the movie, Like it's supposedto take place around Christmas and New Year's

(01:14:24):
and stuff, but there really isn'tmuch going on by way of like Christmas
activities. But it makes I loveit it just it's a cozy movie.
I love the storylines of the twocouples, and it's one of those Christmas
movie staples for me. So andeven with the very awkward ending, I

(01:14:49):
still give it. Yeah, fivehouse emojis. What about you? I
love that you should not be surprised. I also give a five house some
emojis. Even with the hot ending, there is something so comforting about this
movie. The music we talked aboutearlier just sort of sweeps you right into

(01:15:11):
it. I don't have a lotof complaints. I was looking at ron
Tomatoes for this movie when when wewere talking about watching it and whatnot,
and people don't really like it,like the critics don't really like it because
of how predictable it is, andI'm like, yes, please, like,
let something in life be predictable. That's why I like to watch movies

(01:15:34):
because it's a roum com so muchbecause it's like the predictable thing happens.
And I love that so much aboutthis movie. And yeah, it's a
great movie. It is a veryfeel good movie. It is a comfort
movie. Not everything has to bethis unpredictable plotline for it to be good

(01:16:00):
and enjoyable. Yeah. Yeah, and you know, we get characters that
are really different yet fun and fitwith each other. So yeah, it's
a great movie. I do haveto say that I do I share that
complaint with my brother and with you, Like I definitely would have liked to
see more Miles because he was sogood. But but other than that,

(01:16:27):
in the ending, I don't haveany more complaints about that movie. You
know, they're apparently going to makea sequel, which I don't know how
I feel about that. I feellike too much time has passed. I
think it the way it ended isfine. I don't I don't need additional

(01:16:48):
story. No, I don't needto know where these characters are. I
am okay knowing that they don't knowhow to have a moment together without laughing
and dancing. So yeah, no, I don't need to know anything else.
I don't need any more. Right, they they got together, they

(01:17:09):
spent the holiday together. Yeah,I don't need I just can't imagine what
the sequel would cover. No,yeah, exactly. This is for any
movie, not not only rom com. If they're thinking of making a sequel

(01:17:30):
to a movie that is already greatstand alone, that story has to be
air tight, Like it has tobe a good story. It has to
be well written. Otherwise, likewhat are you doing? Mm hmmm.
It's almost like you're you're ruining It'salmost like you're ruining the original because you're

(01:17:51):
trying to like run the story intothe ground. If you were gonna make
a sequel, you should have doneit way sooner. First of all,
because it's that movie came out inlike two thousand and six. Yeah.
No, the characters have changed somuch, and even those people as people

(01:18:13):
have changed so much. I thinkthat's that's always what what fucks up a
remake people It takes them a minuteto get back into that character. There's
there's not many, not many sequelsthat are good. Like when they came
out with the second Top Gun,I was like, damn, this is

(01:18:35):
like they're making this and it's beenso long in between the first Top Gun
that came out in the eighties andthen oh that's the movie that came out.
Is that the second one? Thesecond one came out, I think
last year is that the Maverick one. Yeah, and it turns Oh my
gosh, it turns out Top GunMaverick is a freaking great movie. Like

(01:19:01):
it was so good. I thoughtit was better than the original. Oh
yeah, But I think I thinkalso the fact that like Top Gun in
the eighties, you're very limited onlike the effects. Like I watched Top
Gun not long after the second onecame out, because I was a kid

(01:19:25):
when that came out, and Iwas like, this is not good.
People loved this. But it wasalso the eighties, like very limited in
the effects department and stuff. Butthat's I mean, that's not always the
norm with sequels. I was thinkingabout it too, in the terms of

(01:19:45):
TV shows. Do you remember whenthey did the parks and rack like COVID
thing where they were all like, yeah, skiping from home, skiping,
zooming, Yeah, skyping, Howold are I? It was just odd
to me. It was It wasfun in the moment, but now that
I think about it, it's like, oh, it wasn't There wasn't really

(01:20:08):
a story there. It was justyeah, they didn't seem like they fit
together anymore. Yeah, in themoment, it was good. We needed
it, right, it was nice. It was comforting m m. But
yeah, it did come across aslike forced. Yeah, anyway, not

(01:20:29):
to bash. I know, we'rejust going now on a on a sequel.
Yeah. In short, do notremake The Holiday. Oh what a
great movie. I am probably gonnarewatch it again right now before I go

(01:20:51):
to bed, because the tone is, you know, the the lighting is
very low movie for bed, justvery comforting, and the music like,
oh yeah, drafted off to sleepreal nice and I get to hear Graham.
