and it's always included in like romcom movie lists and stuff, but it
took me this long to watch it. Don't know, maybe I've seen it

mulroney. Everyone should know by nowhow I feel about him, so maybe
maybe anytime that it like will popup, I was like, no,
I'm fine. I like to trustyeah, man him exactly because as we've

established before, he definitely always islike the sketchy guy, Like there's just
not a good vibe around him inhis character. I think it's a smirk.
I feel like his smirk is whatyou don't trust, and it's his
smirk that draws me in. SoI think that's funny. I, well,

even if I was watching this movie, his face was interesting to you know,
like there were there were certain sectionswhere like you just expect him to
be to do something wrong, ifit makes sense. But he was actually
a really good guy in this movie. So anyway, but I was just
like, I think that's probably whyI've never seen it before. I just

didn't trust him. I said whatI said, I totally know your feelings
on Dermott mulroney, so I wasn'tgoing to argue with you. I even
made a note where I was like, I know you think he's sneaky,
but goddamn, he's so sexy.Again, this is another reason we're great

talk about this movie. It wasreally cute. It was a really good
movie. It was short, whichI love a short movie that gets right
to the point, and it reallygot to the point very quickly, like
very immediately we dive in and it'swedding time. Yeah, I mean I
think like the opening credits are like, invite find the sort. Now you're

flying like that at the wedding.Now, yeah, you do not see
you do not see the process ofher finding him, talking to him,
arranging things. It is like it'sa done deal. At the start of
this movie, Yeah, not muchas even filmed in New York because it's
like again, you know, rightaway she's at the airport and going back

to London. So okay, well, before we dive too deep, tell
us a little bit about this movie. A very quick summary of this movie
would be a woman who was recentlydumped by her fiance is getting ready to
go to London for her younger halfsister's wedding, and she doesn't want to
go alone, so she hires anescort. That is what this movie is

about. Yeah, and it seemslike she did a really good research to
find the right escort. She musthave done quite the research. Well,
she mentions that she has a friendat a magazine, So the reason why
she chose this guy was because hewas the subject of like this this article,

this expose whatever it was in thismagazine. And I guess he's like
he's very popular, Like he makesbank because he's the perfect escort, Like
nobody has ever complained about him,Like he knows what he's doing and it's
not just a sexual thing. Likethere's many other components that he focuses on

as an escort, like making herfeel good, like the emotional needs of
a woman as opposed to just strictlyphysical needs. Let's get right to it.
Agree, But I think I wouldalso be a great escort. You're
fun, you're fun, you're hot, you're full of life. You'd be

an amazing escort of a new career. Now you go, there, you
go, and you're great at customerservice, so I am. It is
five stars and nothing like you madea whole career at a customer service.

to be at the wedding because he'sthe best man, and she's the maid
of honor because it's her half sisterwho's getting married. Yea, so she
like he's not just a guest atthis wedding that she's gonna see, Like

they are in wedding activities and shittogether. So she has to face this
man who completely blew up her lifeand broke her heart. You know that
kind of sucks, knowing if youhave to face like an X or whatever
and you don't have somebody by yourside, like you know, especially if
they hurt you. It's like you, I don't know, like you want

them to see with somebody hot orsomething. That part I understand. The
other part of like the family aspect, like her family, her family's kind
of shitty. Her stepdad is fine, yeah yeah, but the fit like
the comments people made to her,like what is happening? Do they hate

her? Yeah? Yeah, itis like uncalled for comments like bringing up
this horrible thing that happened to herand like so publicly. It's weird.
I know exactly what we're talking aboutbecause I made a note about this because
I thought it was the weirdest thingwas, you know, fast forward,
she's already at the whatever event ofthe wedding weekend and her mom is about

to give a speech. We hadjust we just met her mom a few
minutes before that. Her mom's aboutto give a speech, and then she
just starts talking about cat like fullon about how they thought she was going
to be the first one to getmarried because she always had all the boys,
like just I was so embarrassing forher, so cringe e. I
don't know if I'm getting off topic, but I thought it was really cute

that her ex Beyonce. That's howwe're sort of introduced to him, because
he hits the keys on the pianoand then like stops the attention. He
does like a little like he's playingher off kind of music that you hear,
like award shows. So yeah,he did kind of like save her.
Yeah, I thought that was cute, but any everything else sucks.

But AnyWho, to go back toyour point though, in truly rafashion,
I agree with you. I thoughtit's kind of hard because it's like,
oh wow, yeah there was Onceyou've seen the whole movie, you're like,
oh wow, there was a reallyshitty situation that she'd gone through.
It's definitely really hard to be putin a position like that where you're both
such a big part of the weddingand you're gonna have to spend time together.

On the other hand, though,it's been two years, so again
in truly rough fashion, I'm alsolike, girl, it's been two years.
Wait, two years too? Ohyear? I thought this was like
kind of recent. Did they sayit? And I just completely missed it.

So I gotta tell you this.I remember in the movie. I
don't remember specific two years, butit is in It is in the in
the plot, so I'm gonna gowith that. But in the movie it
did sound like it was a longtime ago. M because because it was
before Amy and Ed who was herhalf sister and her fiance. Oh yeah,

it felt like it was like arecent thing, and she wanted to like
rub his face in the fact thatshe was with somebody, and she was
with somebody who was so hot andcharismatic. That's why I thought it was
like under a year that that happened. But I don't blame you, because
I felt the same way because herwhole anxiety around. It was very much

like it was something fresh. Yeah. Yeah, So again I'm not judging
how long people should take to healand things like that, but if we're
gonna look at her from that angle, it's been two years and she's act
like it just happened. M Iwant to say the part where she I
guess she's like running around the apartmentand getting ready and like packing up,

getting ready to go to the airport. The song that plays unlocked this whole
part of my brain. You alwaysbe attention to the song, the entire
soundtrack, like except for this firstsong. It's by the Cores. They
are an Irish group that were reallybig in the late nineties early two thousands,

Like we got hit with this Irishwave of the US, Like Bewitched
was a really popular Irish girl groupthat had its moment in the sun here
in the US. And then theCoors had this had this song Breathless that
plays in the beginning of the movie. It was like, I don't know,
it totally unlocked this like period ofmy life where I was like,

oh my god, I completely rememberthis song. I remember this whole time.
I just wanted to say that Ilove it. Appreciate you so much
because I it's very rare for meto watch a movie or show or anything
like that and like the songs sortof stick out to me for some reason.

I could not tell you what anysong when they play nothing for this
movie, because it's very rare forme to like pick up that there is
a soundtrack in the background. SoI just appreciate that about you a lot,
because you just past it and youknow you know it. So I

of the movie movie is basically aMichael blue Blay album, Like it's all

to hand them this courier the ticketor him to send it to Nick so
that he could meet her at theairport or in the plane. So first

because his voice made me feel thatway, and then when we find out
she's going to London for this weddingand she's taking Virgin, I was like
so giddy because I literally just wentto London and took Virgin to go there.

because I had to write it down. So my brother I said, oh
my gosh, she's going to awedding in London and she's going in Virgin.

asking her all this stuff and shewent to the back to take care of
like some weird customer service call orsomething. Yeah, but even still not
work for the airport. Like howare you getting through security and all that

other luggage was, yeah, youhad a backpack shore but like maybe but

just never forget that this bothers me. Noticeably, empty suitcases in movies or

TV that bothers me so much,Like you can just tell, like because
they're not hard to sell, right, Like these are like the ones that
you pack and you can sort ofsee. So they sort of had this
indentation. M I hate it,I hate it. I hate it.
So she Yeah, she rolled upto the airport fifteen minutes before with like

five empty suitcases. So maybe,yeah, she was going to get through
ta because girl, you got nothingin there. I get it. That's
like noticeably empty coffee cups. Youcan tell when somebody doesn't have liquid in
there or just has a little bit. Like even the way they put it
down, an empty cup sounds waydifferent than a full cup. You're so

right, You're so right. Orsometimes they'll like try to do the most
with the cup and it's like thatwould have spilled. Yeah, yeah,
Hollywood, get it together. Ijust can't believe that that's still a thing
that happens in TV and movies liketoday. I just there. I mean,

M I mean, put some applejuice in it or something, but something,
Yeah, even even just a littlebit would muffle the way that the
cup hits the counter, you knowwhat I mean. Yeah. Yeah,
And even for the suitcases, likethrow some random clothes in there from from

the hair or whatever the dressing updepartment is, and like so that it's
believable when you're like dragging a suitcaseright, like, okay, keep it
under fifty pounds or something that's likecode, but like make me believe that

she finally does get on the playand I don't remember her conversation with one

of the flight attendants, but itwas definitely she was still very anxious because
she was nervous. And then sheturns around and there's your man, Jen.
Okay, I know you feel acertain type of way about him.
I need to ask you. Doyou not find him attractive at all?

get that you don't like his vibeor demeanor, like there's just something about

him that you don't like. ButI just needed to know, like,

She ends up falling asleep, lookinglike a raccoon. When she wakes up,
of course, he looks so likeperfect. And I think it's very

from the airport, making the cabdriver just pull over to some random pubs
so she can do like a fashionshow for Nick because she needs to change
because they now she's scared that theiroriginal outfits were too matchy matchy, that
it looks like they're trying too hard. You know what I noticed When she

tells the driver to pull over somewhereso she can change, she addresses him
as driver. And that's something that'ssomething that I noticed in a lot of
like movies where the big driver pullover here. I've never addressed, never
anybody as driver. No, I'lljust say sir, yeah, or literally,

this car? So I've never everaddressed anybody as driver, And I've never
been with somebody who has addressed thatperson as driver. I never have either

and that's when she gave her speech, and that's when people start to
meet Nick, and we also meetJeffrey. Yes, we meet Jeffrey,
who is her ex fiance. Nickis a hit right off the bat.

He knows how to work with people, you know, He's definitely very charming.
He's very good looking. So allthe women are just like fawning over
him, and she's getting congratulated bylike her sister, her cousin. Her
cousin's just crazy. She's like theepitome of letting intrusive thoughts win. Like

she just says things, Yeah,that's such a good point. I do.
I do appreciate her cousin, Likewhen we when you first meet her
cousin. It's the sea where sheand Jeffrey run into each other for the
first time. She's leaving the bathroomand there's this very like awkward like hello,

and he goes to hug her,and she looks like she's about to
fold right there, and then thecousin comes in looking for her everywhere,
and as soon as she turns aroundto look at Jeffrey, she's like,
hey, asshole, I didn't missa beat. Yes, I was very
curious, asked to like the wholefamily dynamic of it all, but that

seemed like the coolest cousin. Soyeah. She says whatever she wants,
she does whatever she wants, verysupportive of her cousin. Yeah, her
mom's comments, I was thinking,like, damn, her mom was like
resent her or hater or something likewhat's going on. As soon as Kat
and Nick walk into the walk intothe building into the party, she gets

greeted by like an aunt or somethingwho was like to think this could have
been you getting married or whatever,Like Jesus Christ. There's definitely that air
of like she failed at something,and it's like she just got dumb,
Like that doesn't mean failure, youknow. Yeah, you're right, and

that's why she feels that need tobring Nick. It's not just that satisfaction
over her X, it's I thinkit's sad that like you need that's that's
your I don't know the word,Like I guess that's your defense, yes,
against your family. Yeah, yeah, because it feels like again,
Nick is there for a couple ofdifferent reasons, but definitely the family reason

feels like the most real one.I think if she wouldn't have brought Nick,
it would have been a different dynamicof like are you seeing anybody?

things that they're saying to her,like very insensitive, but also like I

might not. They might not beasking her like, oh are you you

seeing anybody? Like don't worry,this will happen for you too, Like
those kind of comments she's avoiding.But I think the bigger thing that she
wanted to avoid was probably the wholebroken engagement, and that didn't, like,
not even his presence stop them frommaking all these remarks. It was
all the older ladies, yeah,little bitches, yeah, and yeah.

I personally don't like her sister,Like even even like from the jump,
I didn't like her sister. Shewould just seem braddy. She makes everything
about her Yeah, like she hadno personality really, like she was just

mean she she likes attention, true, like her sister definitely likes attention.
Like I don't know. When Katwalks in and her sister sees her,
she's like, oh, Kat,I'm getting married. Like it's not hello,

she and Nick are at the bar, what's her sister's name again, Amy?

Amy, Amy's on the side ofthe bar, and instead of just
ordering a goddamn drink for herself,she sees her sister about to drink the
whiskey or whatever it is that Nickordered for them, and she goes,
can I have that, bitch?The bartender's right there. You're the bride.
You don't think you're gonna get served? Yeah? Yeah, and Kat

gives it to her. I didn'tcare for her. I didn't care for
their dynamic either. I think Edwould have been better off without her.
But whatever, Oh, she doesnot deserve Ed. He's like way out
of her very nice. Yeah she'sshitty. Yeah. When we definitely still

in that moment when we're like meetingon the family, I was a bit
confused because I was like trying topiece it all together of like what was
happening and everything. You know.Now it reminds me because when we go,
you know, as we continue,they go to Kat's house childhood home,
and that's where her and Nick arestaying, and her mom and her
dad are bringing her to the roomand or whatever welcoming them in. So

anyway, that reminds me because ourmom, or Kat says a comment of
like, oh my mom has thisthing, or if you're not married,
you can't really be together in thesame room, and AnyWho, I guess
the reason it brings it back isbecause all that's very old fashioned. Her
mom to be thinking also of likelike, oh, I thought she was
gonna get married first, Like theyjust put a lot of value into that

marriage piece, so that makes sense. But then her mom is like,
no, I'm I'm with the newmillennium and you can sleep together. I
know what happened. She was shewas a cool mom. She wasn't like
the other moms, and so theyget to share a room, which they
got I'm sure did not plan onthat. No, she was really banking

on her mom being old fashioned andkeeping them in separate rooms so she didn't
feel I mean, I think herreaction to staying in the same room as
him was very dramatic, Like whenthey go to bed and they have to
share the bed, she puts fuckingpillows, all those pillows. Yeah,

I'm like, if I were him, I'd be so offended. I'd be
like, the fuck, what doyou think you're gonna catch something from,
like touching my arm or something.Persona and cat's the fence, though,
I think you are letting your personalfeelings get in the way here, because
I know you would have been thrilledto share that bedroom with it. What

history between the two sisters. Yeah. Yeah, So Ed is cooking I
guess, like brunch whatever it is. And they they're playing the card games,
and then they're wondering where where's Amy, Like Amy's not here yet,
And so the card game finishes orI guess it gets interrupted because Ed comes

over informs them that he and Amyhave never had a fight, thus they've
never had makeup sex. And thenKat and the cousin go and chase him
for some reason. They're running aroundscreaming and laughing, cringe. And then
Nick goes and looks for Amy,I think her. Their father asks him

to go and go to I don'tknow, the lake house or guesthouse,
whatever it is. And Nick goesand he opens the door and you see
Amy and Jeffrey, Kat's ex fiance, really close to each other. I
think he's even holding her hands orholding her wrists. They're out like overlooking

the water or whatever, and thenimmediately like they step away from each other.
It's super awkward. Nick knows thathe's just interrupted something weird and Jeffrey.
Jeffrey says something like pissed that thatyou got interrupted, and he leaves.
And then Nick was like, I'mI was just checking on you.

I you know, you didn't showup. Everybody was wondering where you were.
That's all I was doing. Andshe starts to tell him a little
bit of this big, big secret, the history of the four of them,
her and Ed and Kat and Jeffrey, and starts asking him like,
do you think do you think placeshave memories? Like I hope they do.

I hope they don't, like Ihope this room doesn't remember everything that's
happened in this room. And itbecomes clear that Amy and Jeffrey had a
thing or we're a thing for alittle bit, and we don't get the
full full story from the Amy andNick perspective. It cuts off. You
see Jeffrey and Kat talking Jeffrey.For some reason, Jeffrey gets into his

head that this is the greatest ideaever that he needs to talk to Kat,
and up into this point, Katis thinking he's going to ask me
to get back together. Like,yeah, everything he's been saying to Nick
and the way he's been behaving,you think that he is feeling remorse over

breaking up with her, that youknow, his comments about this woman that
I love, she's here, shebrought another guy. You think he's talking
about her the entire time. Yeah, that's not the case. And thankfully,
I mean, Nick starts walking backand it kind of interrupts Jeffrey and
Kat. Jeffrey about to drop thisbomb on her because she notices him.

She goes to Nick. He's gota weird look on his face and he
chooses not to say anything to Kat. It's just so weird. It's all
weird, and it's a weird positionfor Nick to be in. He just
stumbled upon this big secret and hedecides he's not gonna say anything to Kat.
He's going to try to play itoff like, no, I'm fine,

and Amy's fine. I found her. Everything's good type of thing.
She doesn't even really think twice aboutthe fact that Jeffrey's like trying to tell
her this big thing. She doesn'treally care. And I think after this,
there they get ready they there havethey all changed into like cocktail attire.

They're having like a I guess likea rehearsal dinner. It's it's the
night before the wedding, so they'rethey're all outside at this long table,
sharing stories, doing toasts, andthen you you also get a glimpse into
this like rivalry between Kat and hersister. M mmmmm. Yeah. Apparently

they were really close up until Tonyshows up in their life, which was
Kat's first boyfriend, which sort offoreshadows a little bit of what happened with
this big there's this big competition betweenthem when it comes to men and the
and the attention of men. Andyou hear throughout the movie that Kat was

always so popular with the boys.It's possible her sister was jealous. Whatever
it was. Yeah, I don'tremember Priscilla how because this is the dinner.
Then when Jeffrey Dusk get catalone,you get to tell her. I
don't remember exactly how this all happened, but I feel really bad for her
because I think overall she's in reallygood spirits. Yeah, she seems like

she feels good about where she's atwith Nick, even like something has shifted
with them, and it seems likeit's something more than a business transaction.
And she seems happy about that,and the you know, the day is
going well, and I believe shegoes back inside to get more wine.

Yes she does, yep, becausethen Jeffrey goes inside and she's downstairs in
the wine cellar. He kind ofcorners her in there, and Nick comes
in shortly after them. He's gotall these glasses in his hand. He's
kind of searching for a spot toput him down, but I think he's

by the by the entrance of thewine cellar, and he listens in on
Jeffrey trying to talk to Kat,and she keeps interrupting him, like you
know, he's he's starting to saylike, you know, I've wanted to
say this to you and everything that'shappened and blah blah blah, and and
she cuts him off because she realizes, like she's ready to let go.

Yeah, she doesn't need to hearthis. She also doesn't need the validation
of him like wanting him wanting herback, because she thinks that he wants
her back, and he just dropsa big old bomb on her. Well,
Nick overhears that bit when she's likedeclining him, and he smiles,

he walks away, Jeffrey dumps.Yes, yes, he hears up until
the point where Kat declined, andit makes him happy because yes, you

That's why we broke up, likeI was in love with her kind of
thing and still in with her.Crazy. That is crazy. That cute
fashion is wild in and of itself. But like the timing of the of

he looks happy and proud kind oflike he has this looked on his face
that almost looks like he's happy orlike proud of himself to be able to
say this to her and not evencaring like how this is going to affect
