(00:00):
Well, we've been we've been travelingbecause we actually recorded before we met up
Jersey. How do you like Jersey? Loved Jersey loved it. There was
something so beautiful about everywhere we went. The Grandmama Pie was delicious. Like
(00:21):
I just I loved it. Ihad such a great time, such a
great time. I'm glad you'll haveto come back and we can go and
do other things because there were therewere a couple of places that we wanted
to bring you that we didn't havetime to go to. I will definitely
come back because I have now learnedthat there is summer at Jersey, you
(00:41):
know, at the Jersey Shore, and then there's local summer. And I'm
I'm I want to come back forlocal summer and then local winter. And
all. Welcome to Meet Cute,a podcast for friends. End of RS
and Priscilla Wilson get together to discussall things rom coms, from the classics
(01:06):
to the latest releases. We'll bediving deep into the world of romantic comedies.
Oh, it has been a longtime and I'm so excited to be
talking to you today and recording thewedding the wedding day. Yes, Jen,
have you seen Had you seen theWedding Date before? No? Okay,
(01:26):
me neither. Or well, Idid watch it once very recently,
but I was pretty zooded, soI hadn't. I hadn't seen it,
and it's always included in like romcom movie lists and stuff, but it
took me this long to watch it. Don't know, maybe I've seen it
(01:48):
before, but I just you knowhow I feel about Dermott mulroney. Dermott
mulroney. Everyone should know by nowhow I feel about him, so maybe
maybe anytime that it like will popup, I was like, no,
I'm fine. I like to trustyeah, man him exactly because as we've
(02:12):
established before, he definitely always islike the sketchy guy, Like there's just
not a good vibe around him inhis character. I think it's a smirk.
I feel like his smirk is whatyou don't trust, and it's his
smirk that draws me in. SoI think that's funny. I, well,
here's this is why we're friends.I think it is a smirk because
(02:36):
even if I was watching this movie, his face was interesting to you know,
like there were there were certain sectionswhere like you just expect him to
be to do something wrong, ifit makes sense. But he was actually
a really good guy in this movie. So anyway, but I was just
like, I think that's probably whyI've never seen it before. I just
(03:00):
didn't trust him. I said whatI said, I totally know your feelings
on Dermott mulroney, so I wasn'tgoing to argue with you. I even
made a note where I was like, I know you think he's sneaky,
but goddamn, he's so sexy.Again, this is another reason we're great
(03:25):
friends. We will never be competingwith men. We will not. I'll
take the senior citizens for so thatmistake, that sneaky looking the sneaky looking
ones. They go, oh,we are good. But I'm excited to
(03:51):
talk about this movie. It wasreally cute. It was a really good
movie. It was short, whichI love a short movie that gets right
to the point, and it reallygot to the point very quickly, like
very immediately we dive in and it'swedding time. Yeah, I mean I
think like the opening credits are like, invite find the sort. Now you're
(04:13):
flying like that at the wedding. Now, yeah, you do not see
you do not see the process ofher finding him, talking to him,
arranging things. It is like it'sa done deal. At the start of
this movie, Yeah, not muchas even filmed in New York because it's
like again, you know, rightaway she's at the airport and going back
(04:39):
to London. So okay, well, before we dive too deep, tell
us a little bit about this movie. A very quick summary of this movie
would be a woman who was recentlydumped by her fiance is getting ready to
go to London for her younger halfsister's wedding, and she doesn't want to
go alone, so she hires anescort. That is what this movie is
(05:00):
about. Yeah, and it seemslike she did a really good research to
find the right escort. She musthave done quite the research. Well,
she mentions that she has a friendat a magazine, So the reason why
she chose this guy was because hewas the subject of like this this article,
(05:24):
this expose whatever it was in thismagazine. And I guess he's like
he's very popular, Like he makesbank because he's the perfect escort, Like
nobody has ever complained about him,Like he knows what he's doing and it's
not just a sexual thing. Likethere's many other components that he focuses on
(05:47):
as an escort, like making herfeel good, like the emotional needs of
a woman as opposed to just strictlyphysical needs. Let's get right to it.
Agree, But I think I wouldalso be a great escort. You're
fun, you're fun, you're hot, you're full of life. You'd be
(06:09):
an amazing escort of a new career. Now you go, there, you
go, and you're great at customerservice, so I am. It is
five stars and nothing like you madea whole career at a customer service.
So I you know what, thismight be a new the new venture.
(06:31):
I'm gonna go after minute, I'mgonna go an entrepreneur. You could reverse
the patriarchy gen Wow, there couldbe books written about me. You can
give these men much needed breakthroughs.Whoa, and we have gone off the
(06:54):
deep rail then or off the railsof the deep. I think the deep
end and then off rails, andthen I just combined the two. So
the reasons why she gets an escortare kind of wild. The whole fiance
(07:17):
part of it. I kind ofunderstand, like this guy totally fucked her
over, left her at the altar. I believe, and he is going
to be at the wedding because he'sthe best man, and she's the maid
of honor because it's her half sisterwho's getting married. Yea, so she
like he's not just a guest atthis wedding that she's gonna see, Like
(07:40):
they are in wedding activities and shittogether. So she has to face this
man who completely blew up her lifeand broke her heart. You know that
kind of sucks, knowing if youhave to face like an X or whatever
and you don't have somebody by yourside, like you know, especially if
they hurt you. It's like you, I don't know, like you want
(08:01):
them to see with somebody hot orsomething. That part I understand. The
other part of like the family aspect, like her family, her family's kind
of shitty. Her stepdad is fine, yeah yeah, but the fit like
the comments people made to her, like what is happening? Do they hate
(08:24):
her? Yeah? Yeah, itis like uncalled for comments like bringing up
this horrible thing that happened to herand like so publicly. It's weird.
I know exactly what we're talking aboutbecause I made a note about this because
I thought it was the weirdest thingwas, you know, fast forward,
she's already at the whatever event ofthe wedding weekend and her mom is about
(08:48):
to give a speech. We hadjust we just met her mom a few
minutes before that. Her mom's aboutto give a speech, and then she
just starts talking about cat like fullon about how they thought she was going
to be the first one to getmarried because she always had all the boys,
like just I was so embarrassing forher, so cringe e. I
don't know if I'm getting off topic, but I thought it was really cute
(09:11):
that her ex Beyonce. That's howwe're sort of introduced to him, because
he hits the keys on the pianoand then like stops the attention. He
does like a little like he's playingher off kind of music that you hear,
like award shows. So yeah,he did kind of like save her.
Yeah, I thought that was cute, but any everything else sucks.
(09:33):
But AnyWho, to go back toyour point though, in truly rafashion,
I agree with you. I thoughtit's kind of hard because it's like,
oh wow, yeah there was Onceyou've seen the whole movie, you're like,
oh wow, there was a reallyshitty situation that she'd gone through.
It's definitely really hard to be putin a position like that where you're both
such a big part of the weddingand you're gonna have to spend time together.
(09:56):
On the other hand, though,it's been two years, so again
in truly rough fashion, I'm alsolike, girl, it's been two years.
Wait, two years too? Ohyear? I thought this was like
kind of recent. Did they sayit? And I just completely missed it.
(10:16):
So I gotta tell you this.I remember in the movie. I
don't remember specific two years, butit is in It is in the in
the plot, so I'm gonna gowith that. But in the movie it
did sound like it was a longtime ago. M because because it was
before Amy and Ed who was herhalf sister and her fiance. Oh yeah,
(10:41):
you're right, you're right. Ohwow. I don't know why,
it felt like it was like arecent thing, and she wanted to like
rub his face in the fact thatshe was with somebody, and she was
with somebody who was so hot andcharismatic. That's why I thought it was
like under a year that that happened. But I don't blame you, because
I felt the same way because herwhole anxiety around. It was very much
(11:05):
like it was something fresh. Yeah. Yeah, So again I'm not judging
how long people should take to healand things like that, but if we're
gonna look at her from that angle, it's been two years and she's act
like it just happened. M Iwant to say the part where she I
guess she's like running around the apartmentand getting ready and like packing up,
(11:26):
getting ready to go to the airport. The song that plays unlocked this whole
part of my brain. You alwaysbe attention to the song, the entire
soundtrack, like except for this firstsong. It's by the Cores. They
are an Irish group that were reallybig in the late nineties early two thousands,
(11:52):
Like we got hit with this Irishwave of the US, Like Bewitched
was a really popular Irish girl groupthat had its moment in the sun here
in the US. And then theCoors had this had this song Breathless that
plays in the beginning of the movie. It was like, I don't know,
it totally unlocked this like period ofmy life where I was like,
(12:13):
oh my god, I completely rememberthis song. I remember this whole time.
I just wanted to say that Ilove it. Appreciate you so much
because I it's very rare for meto watch a movie or show or anything
like that and like the songs sortof stick out to me for some reason.
(12:33):
I could not tell you what anysong when they play nothing for this
movie, because it's very rare forme to like pick up that there is
a soundtrack in the background. SoI just appreciate that about you a lot,
because you just past it and youknow you know it. So I
wanted to say that I'm always I'malways listening wherever I go. I'm picking
(12:54):
up I'm picking up the music.I will say the rest of the rest
of the movie movie is basically aMichael blue Blay album, Like it's all
his songs that play. I didn'teven know that. Yeah, I want
to give you your flowers right now. Definitely, you have excellent dare I
(13:20):
say, exquisite attention to detail. It is remarkable. Thank you. You
just you just catch all these anyway. But yes, so I'm not surprised
that you notice. I'm actually reallyglad you got that wave of memory.
It was a total nostalgia. Iwas like, how I forgot about this
(13:41):
song? So that was a nicelittle moment for me. I love it.
I love that for you, Okay, I love it. I don't
ask me what any songs were becauseI don't know. Well that in that
part when she's getting ready for theairport, you know, we're finding out
that she's going to London. Andthen actually there's a couple of things I
(14:03):
want to say here. We findout she's going to London. But then
there's Nick's voice, who is thearmant darl whatever his name is. Can
you can just say Nick? He'skind of his name is a mouthful,
for sure, it is. SoI'm just gonna call him creepy Nick.
I mean, sorry, Nick.He I guess he's in a voicemail or
(14:26):
something that's also playing at some pointbecause she uh, and then she's going
to hand them this courier the ticketor him to send it to Nick so
that he could meet her at theairport or in the plane. So first
off, his voice, I waslike, immediately take take him back to
(14:48):
like all this man's a creep,Like he just gives me such creep vibes.
I know, I'm sorry, butI just wanted to make that note
because his voice made me feel thatway, and then when we find out
she's going to London for this weddingand she's taking Virgin, I was like
so giddy because I literally just wentto London and took Virgin to go there.
(15:09):
So here's what I said to mybrother. I'm going to tell you
because I had to write it down. So my brother I said, oh
my gosh, she's going to awedding in London and she's going in Virgin.
Is this foreshadowing like for me,you know, for my future?
He literally just yelled from the kitchenRelax. And I am so disappointed that
(15:31):
my family is just here clipping mywings. Mmm, because I believe it,
and I know you're my friend andyou love me. You believe that
was foreshadowing. See, I knewit, the fact that you were just
there, that was your airline.I'm just saying, I have been validated.
So shall we move on now thatI have been validated. The arriving
(15:58):
fifteen minutes before or the flight,oh insanity. You're in New York.
You can't. This is not TulsaAirport where you can roll up thirty minutes
before a flight and it takes fiveminutes to get through security. It seems
that she works for the airline becausesomebody was like running behind her and like
(16:19):
asking her all this stuff and shewent to the back to take care of
like some weird customer service call orsomething. Yeah, but even still not
work for the airport. Like howare you getting through security and all that
shit in fifteen minutes? Yeah,I want to say that that that's I
want to say that's impossible. Ifeel like especially she had like all the
(16:41):
other luggage was, yeah, youhad a backpack shore but like maybe but
no, Yeah, she had likefour pieces of luggage. Yeah. Can
I give you a quick pet peeveof mine. Yes, this bothers me,
and it's the stupidest thing, butit bothers me. You know what,
I'm going to write it down becauseI want to make sure that I
just never forget that this bothers me. Noticeably, empty suitcases in movies or
(17:07):
TV that bothers me so much,Like you can just tell, like because
they're not hard to sell, right, Like these are like the ones that
you pack and you can sort ofsee. So they sort of had this
indentation. M I hate it,I hate it. I hate it.
So she Yeah, she rolled upto the airport fifteen minutes before with like
(17:30):
five empty suitcases. So maybe, yeah, she was going to get through
ta because girl, you got nothingin there. I get it. That's
like noticeably empty coffee cups. Youcan tell when somebody doesn't have liquid in
there or just has a little bit. Like even the way they put it
down, an empty cup sounds waydifferent than a full cup. You're so
(17:55):
right, You're so right. Orsometimes they'll like try to do the most
with the cup and it's like thatwould have spilled. Yeah, yeah,
Hollywood, get it together. Ijust can't believe that that's still a thing
that happens in TV and movies liketoday. I just there. I mean,
(18:15):
there must be a reason for it, but it just it's obvious.
M I mean, put some applejuice in it or something, but something,
Yeah, even even just a littlebit would muffle the way that the
cup hits the counter, you knowwhat I mean. Yeah. Yeah,
And even for the suitcases, likethrow some random clothes in there from from
(18:40):
the hair or whatever the dressing updepartment is, and like so that it's
believable when you're like dragging a suitcaseright, like, okay, keep it
under fifty pounds or something that's likecode, but like make me believe that
you are carrying something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Any who, But
she finally does get on the playand I don't remember her conversation with one
(19:03):
of the flight attendants, but itwas definitely she was still very anxious because
she was nervous. And then sheturns around and there's your man, Jen.
Okay, I know you feel acertain type of way about him.
I need to ask you. Doyou not find him attractive at all?
I do? Let me clarify that, yes, okay, okay, I
get that you don't like his vibeor demeanor, like there's just something about
(19:27):
him that you don't like. ButI just needed to know, like,
do you think this? No?No, you know what. I'm so
glad we're discussing this. This isvery important for our friendship. So let's
clarify this. Because I think heis a very good looking, very handsome.
I also think he's very handsome inhis younger years, you know that
(19:48):
we've recently seen of his and inhis older years like a new girl and
stuff. I think he's very handsome. That one thing that bothers me about
him, And it's so funny becauseit's not even him, it's just the
characters he ends up playing have alittle bit of like shade to them,
or like a little bit of likenot shade. What's the word I'm looking
for. Not creepiness either, it'slike untrustworthiness, like sketchy sketch. That's
(20:15):
it. So I feel like whenI look at his face mixed in with
those characters, I'm like, no, I would, I would want to
run away from that man. However, maybe I or O. He's really
really sweet and he can get it. He can get it, like in
this movie, actually in almost anythingI've seen him in. I'm like Jesus
(20:37):
and the way that he looks ather throughout this entire movie, like he's
just like looking right into her eyes. It's like so intense. But I'm
like, oh my God, likeI would melt no, you're right,
You're right. I gotta give youthat, Like I said, Jesus Christ
under my breath like five times whenI watched that yesterday today, Like I
(21:03):
came so close to just like she'sin it and like kicking my feet,
like I was just like, holyshit, get the fuck out, person.
You were not okay watching this movie. It's him. It's him.
He just makes just so confident,oh so like intense, so all about
(21:32):
her or whatever. Yeah, andI get it. That's his job,
Like you know, he's made he'smade a career out of like perfecting this
whole giving women the attention that theyactually want or whatever. It is,
like, oh my god, hiswhole, like his presence, the way
he just and I feel like hemakes some of the men feel that way
(21:55):
too, Like I feel like thegroom was starting to fall for him.
I had had the biggest man crushon Nick, the biggest. It was
the cutest thing, which I'll tellyou that ed so hot, so hot,
Oh what wow? Accent, likehis accent is so Actually I'm so
(22:17):
curious as to where he's from becausehe was also in the Mini Project.
His name is Jack Davenport. Heis. Yeah, he showed up in
like the later seasons as like thisone she got married to like the nurse
for like, oh my god, yeah, he was Doctor Universe. I
think. So he was like anact like a big actor. He Oh
(22:42):
my gosh, where Okay, Sohe's English from Wimbledon, Wimbledon. Actually,
my goodness, he is so sohim yes, I would. I
was Jesus Christ under my breath. For sure. We're not okay, But
(23:03):
but think about it this way.In this in this fake universe, my
guy and your guy are like besties. They sure are, because they end
up like that spoiler alert, Yeah, they they end up literally becoming besties.
So this is great. Yeah.Well, she sees him and she's
(23:25):
like, holy shit, because shehad just told the flight attendant, I'm
really nervous. I'm going to thiswedding and I need this guy to look
hot, and the flight attendants like, h your wish came true. Turn
around. She turns around, shesees him. They're in first class,
so he's sitting behind her. Youknow, she's super awkward, like just
(23:48):
saying the wrong thing to him andstuff. And then they take off.
She ends up falling asleep, lookinglike a raccoon. When she wakes up,
of course, he looks so likeperfect. And I think it's very
bold of her to arrive the dayof festivities. Yes, Like she's rushing
(24:10):
from the airport, making the cabdriver just pull over to some random pubs
so she can do like a fashionshow for Nick because she needs to change
because they now she's scared that theiroriginal outfits were too matchy matchy, that
it looks like they're trying too hard. You know what I noticed When she
(24:30):
tells the driver to pull over somewhereso she can change, she addresses him
as driver. And that's something that'ssomething that I noticed in a lot of
like movies where the big driver pullover here. I've never addressed, never
anybody as driver. No, I'lljust say sir, yeah, or literally,
(24:53):
I just go, excuse me,who else am I talking to in
this car? So I've never everaddressed anybody as driver, And I've never
been with somebody who has addressed thatperson as driver. I never have either
actually in the car. Yeah, that's funny. I didn't catch that,
but you're right, I have heardthat, and like, I've never done
(25:15):
that. I don't know anybody whouses the term driver like that seems so
like rich person. I was thinkingthat because they definitely give off like rich
girl vibes kind of yeah, likewell off, like a little bit above
middle class for sure. Yeah yeah, yeah. Her her sister's like a
fucking brat, and I'm trying tothink her childhood home is not It's not
(25:41):
like crazy nice. But but everythingthey're doing, all the wedding festivities look
very posh. Posh. Yes,yes, oh look at us so poshi
and loads loads AnyWho, very veryI was going to tell you that very
posh, that it seemed like alot of money was put into this wedding.
Yeah, but any who, SoI agree that I thought it was
(26:03):
bold too, that she went right, you know, off the plane to
the festivities. And that's when wemeet her mom, which we talked earlier,
and that's when she gave her speech, and that's when people start to
meet Nick, and we also meetJeffrey. Yes, we meet Jeffrey,
who is her ex fiance. Nickis a hit right off the bat.
(26:25):
He knows how to work with people, you know, He's definitely very charming.
He's very good looking. So allthe women are just like fawning over
him, and she's getting congratulated bylike her sister, her cousin. Her
cousin's just crazy. She's like theepitome of letting intrusive thoughts win. Like
(26:47):
she just says things, Yeah, that's such a good point. I do.
I do appreciate her cousin, Likewhen we when you first meet her
cousin. It's the sea where sheand Jeffrey run into each other for the
first time. She's leaving the bathroomand there's this very like awkward like hello,
(27:10):
and he goes to hug her,and she looks like she's about to
fold right there, and then thecousin comes in looking for her everywhere,
and as soon as she turns aroundto look at Jeffrey, she's like,
hey, asshole, I didn't missa beat. Yes, I was very
curious, asked to like the wholefamily dynamic of it all, but that
(27:33):
seemed like the coolest cousin. Soyeah. She says whatever she wants,
she does whatever she wants, verysupportive of her cousin. Yeah, her
mom's comments, I was thinking, like, damn, her mom was like
resent her or hater or something likewhat's going on. As soon as Kat
and Nick walk into the walk intothe building into the party, she gets
(27:56):
greeted by like an aunt or somethingwho was like to think this could have
been you getting married or whatever,Like Jesus Christ. There's definitely that air
of like she failed at something, and it's like she just got dumb,
Like that doesn't mean failure, youknow. Yeah, you're right, and
(28:18):
that's why she feels that need tobring Nick. It's not just that satisfaction
over her X, it's I thinkit's sad that like you need that's that's
your I don't know the word,Like I guess that's your defense, yes,
against your family. Yeah, yeah, because it feels like again,
Nick is there for a couple ofdifferent reasons, but definitely the family reason
(28:41):
feels like the most real one.I think if she wouldn't have brought Nick,
it would have been a different dynamicof like are you seeing anybody?
Oh, you're still single? Youknow. So I think she she did
what she had to do. Yeah, yeah, and you know what,
I feel like I feel bad forher because I mean it's very shitty the
things that they're saying to her, like very insensitive, but also like I
(29:06):
feel like her bringing Nick for likethe family reason, like to keep them
from saying anything. It didn't reallykeep them from saying anything, like she
just wanted to be like, listen, I'm with somebody, we're in love,
blah blah blah. You don't haveto worry about me. I'm doing
fine. I moved on, butthey still bring it up, so they
might not. They might not beasking her like, oh are you you
(29:29):
seeing anybody? Like don't worry, this will happen for you too, Like
those kind of comments she's avoiding. But I think the bigger thing that she
wanted to avoid was probably the wholebroken engagement, and that didn't, like,
not even his presence stop them frommaking all these remarks. It was
all the older ladies, yeah, little bitches, yeah, and yeah.
(29:55):
I personally don't like her sister,Like even even like from the jump,
I didn't like her sister. Shewould just seem braddy. She makes everything
about her Yeah, like she hadno personality really, like she was just
a maybe I don't know, itwas just mean you could tell. I
(30:15):
mean she she likes attention, true, like her sister definitely likes attention.
Like I don't know. When Katwalks in and her sister sees her,
she's like, oh, Kat,I'm getting married. Like it's not hello,
it's I'm getting married. Me,me, me. And then when
she and Nick are at the bar, what's her sister's name again, Amy?
(30:36):
Amy, Amy's on the side ofthe bar, and instead of just
ordering a goddamn drink for herself, she sees her sister about to drink the
whiskey or whatever it is that Nickordered for them, and she goes,
can I have that, bitch? The bartender's right there. You're the bride.
You don't think you're gonna get served? Yeah? Yeah, and Kat
(30:57):
gives it to her. I didn'tcare for her. I didn't care for
their dynamic either. I think Edwould have been better off without her.
But whatever, Oh, she doesnot deserve Ed. He's like way out
of her very nice. Yeah she'sshitty. Yeah. When we definitely still
(31:22):
in that moment when we're like meetingon the family, I was a bit
confused because I was like trying topiece it all together of like what was
happening and everything. You know. Now it reminds me because when we go,
you know, as we continue, they go to Kat's house childhood home,
and that's where her and Nick arestaying, and her mom and her
dad are bringing her to the roomand or whatever welcoming them in. So
(31:45):
anyway, that reminds me because ourmom, or Kat says a comment of
like, oh my mom has thisthing, or if you're not married,
you can't really be together in thesame room, and AnyWho, I guess
the reason it brings it back isbecause all that's very old fashioned. Her
mom to be thinking also of likelike, oh, I thought she was
gonna get married first, Like theyjust put a lot of value into that
(32:07):
marriage piece, so that makes sense. But then her mom is like,
no, I'm I'm with the newmillennium and you can sleep together. I
know what happened. She was shewas a cool mom. She wasn't like
the other moms, and so theyget to share a room, which they
got I'm sure did not plan onthat. No, she was really banking
(32:28):
on her mom being old fashioned andkeeping them in separate rooms so she didn't
feel I mean, I think herreaction to staying in the same room as
him was very dramatic, Like whenthey go to bed and they have to
share the bed, she puts fuckingpillows, all those pillows. Yeah,
(32:49):
I'm like, if I were him, I'd be so offended. I'd be
like, the fuck, what doyou think you're gonna catch something from,
like touching my arm or something.Persona and cat's the fence, though,
I think you are letting your personalfeelings get in the way here, because
I know you would have been thrilledto share that bedroom with it. What
(33:13):
I'm saying is you shelled out sixthousand dollars. You're not gonna get a
cuddle out of that. Yeah, you're right. I agree with you.
I call me whatever, but Ido agree with you. I would have
been totally fine sleeping in the sameroom, sleeping in the same bed,
and seeing him naked because she sawhim. Na, I would have been
totally fine with all of that.Because to just forward up as they're getting
(33:38):
you know, kind of settled in, he jumps in the shower, which
we see his his butt, whichis gorgeous. And then as he jumps
in the shower there I forget whatthey're even talking about because I was just
waiting for him to come out ofthe shower. But oh, she asks
him about oh about the article.Yes, so she's like reading the article.
(34:00):
She turns over and then he's likenaked in front of her, and
I'm just like, girl, justlook at it, like, yeah,
she she was doing too much withthe whole making faces at him and stuff
like just just get over it.And I don't remember, maybe it was
right before he got into the showerwhen he started taking off his clothes and
(34:23):
she like kind of turns away wherehe's like, take a look, it's
part of the package or whatever.I was like, what of course you
were, bitch, take a looka little Susie, look at your investment,
like come on, honestly, Yeah, yeah, yes I would again,
(34:47):
I'm with you. Forget it.I know, I literally she just
met this man on the plane. But I don't care. I would have
I would have seen it. Butyou know what I like about him,
He's very real with her, Likehe seems like he's very like serious.
He makes a few jokes here andthere, but he's like pretty he's pretty
(35:09):
serious, Like even his face, yeah is you know what it is?
Just sorry what I was gonna say. It goes back to a common you
made earlier. He's very confident. He is a very in control of himself
and of the environment. You cantell, yeah, for sure. And
(35:30):
he calls her on her ship becausewhen they're in the bathroom and he puts
the towel around his waist or whatever, he says something that offends her,
like I forget, I forget whatshe would she asks or it was something
about the article and he was saying, like women are choosing this or something,
and she's like, you you thinkI want to be single? You
(35:52):
think I want to be miserable,And he straight out tells her, yes,
I do think you want to You'rechoosing to wallow in this thing.
Yeah, he's like, when youare ready to let go of this thing
that happened in your life, whenyou're ready to actually be with somebody,
then it'll happen until then. No, this is what you're choosing. You're
(36:15):
choosing to hold on. I reallylike that about him. I have to
agree, which reminds me of thathot topic. This is a hot topic
throughout the movie that like women arein the place we choose to be romantically.
Am I getting to that right?Yes, Like we're single because we're
choosing to be single, or likeyou're with somebody who's not right for you
(36:38):
because you're choosing to settle instead ofactually do the work and find the actual
person you're supposed to be with.M Yeah, it's a hot topic throughout
the movie. Well, now sheyou know, it's the next day,
so she that's the weird sleeping thing, which we've already discussed, which dumb
ass. But then it's the nextday and she's going to her bachelarte party,
(37:00):
right, her sister's bachelorte party, which I feel like started a little
early. First, they play agame of cricket with the guys a lot
about that, Okay, yeah, yeah, which cricket looks dumb. It
looks dumb, that little tiny assbat. I just don't care for it.
No, I think if I'm goingto be playing out like that,
(37:21):
playing a game, I would maybedo like kickball. Kickball has usually a
big ball, right, I woulddo kickball. Kickball is always a nice
one to play. Cricket just looksstupid because of the little bat. It's
basically it's basically softball. Because evenlike the way you think he's gonna do
like this crazy pitch, but reallyhe's just pitching this ball underhand to somebody
(37:45):
who's got this little, teeny tinylittle bat, which it looks ridiculous when
they try to swing with all theirmight. I'm like, what is happening?
Yeah, but even just like alittle like a little softball game,
kickball, whatever, I get it. I get why they're playing cricket because
they're they're in London, but it'sjust it's weird. And her whole her
(38:08):
whole like splashing the water on herselfbecause because her ex is the one pitching
and she's trying to make herself lookcuter and Nick is like giving her looks
like tone it down, yeah becausewhen yeah, well, Nick made kind
of the mistake of telling her atthe at the party they were at the
(38:31):
day prior that he had talked toJeffrey. They like they meet up on
the balcony. Jeffrey doesn't know Ohno, no, Jeffrey knows who he
is. He saw them walk intogether, but Nick doesn't know who Jeffrey
is yet. And so they're they'retalking and Jeffrey was talking about like,
(38:51):
you know, there's a girl thatI'm in love with, but she came
here with some guy and I don'tknow what to do or whatever. And
then Kat comes out, and youknow, Jeffrey's like, oh fuck,
and Nick realizes who he is,but he tells Kat like during their conversation,
oh, he's still crazy about you, Like he totally regrets what happened.
(39:15):
He made a mistake. So shetakes that and runs with it and
is I guess trying to seduce himand then like just goes it's crazy with
the PDA with Nick at the game, but like looking at Jeffrey, yeah,
like him and staring into Jeffrey's eyes. This is very so weird,
(39:38):
so weird. Yeah, I forgot. I forgot about that moment. Maybe
that's why I tried to put itoff out of my head because it was
so weird. But but the bacheloretteparty and the bachelor party are after this
game that night. Yeah, becauseshe did her little hair dow thing.
That's what I was thinking about, because she was like fresh. Her and
(39:59):
A and Nick have this moment outsidewhen he's dropping her off. He's dropping
her off, Oh my god.She she looks super awkward in it,
just the way she's like, yeah, looking against the car. I was
like, you look, this looksHe's like, she looks crazy. It
(40:22):
just looks really crazy. But likehe's dropping her off and she kind of
keeps pushing him about the article, like she wants to know, okay,
what goes down when you're with thesewomen? Like how does this work?
And he's yeah, she you know, she wants to act like she thinks
(40:43):
sex for money is like this disgustingthing or whatever, and that she's above
all this. And he reminds her, like, you hired me, like
you hired the escorts. I don'tthink you should be judging anybody. But
he's trying to like it it off. She keeps asking him, like how
does this work or whatever, andso he finally tells her, like,
(41:07):
you know, it's not about me. It's not about what I like,
like, it's about the woman andwhat she wants and how she wants to
feel and stuff like that. Andshe's like, show me, and he
he pushes her up against the car, which already I was like, here
we go, and and he's nothe's not like physically engaging her. He's
(41:32):
getting very close and he tells herto close her eyes, and he's just
saying all this stuff like you're anincredible woman, like all these like really
nice things. Yeah, very closeto her, whispering in her ear,
and she looks like she's, youknow, about to faint. Yeah,
(41:53):
that's that's the way to put it. Her body's doing something very weird.
Oh she's not okay, she's notokay. Practically got drool coming out of
(42:13):
her mouth at the end of hisspeech. Yeah, she can't even stand
up correctly. And then she startsto go. She leaves her purse behind
her bag. She's not okay, and she even starts to walk the wrong
way and he has to like pointher in the right direction. Yeah.
(42:34):
But then she goes inside, youknow, starts in the party, and
then he comes in with her bag, and when he's about to leave,
they make out. Oh my god. Yeah, she she like makes out
with him. Yeah, and he'syeah, looks, he opens his looks
and I was like, oh,yeah, what's topanic He's taken by surprise.
(42:55):
There's like a spark there, Iguess. Yeah, he was like
you could just tell and his actingthat he was like, oh, oh
this may be different. Yeah.Yeah, it was cute. I thought
that was a cute scene when theykissed. I love that. Yeah.
It's really wild though. How allthese women at the bachelorette party. First
(43:17):
of all, it's it's a weirdtheme. They're all dressed like it's a
it's a golf theme. They're allin like fucking sweater vests and weird colorful
a theme. I was just like, oh, these early two thousand fashions.
Yeah. Yeah, but like hehe comes to give her of the
bag and these women are like drapingthemselves, yeah, over him, like
(43:40):
touching him and stuff, and I'dbe like stepping back a little bit,
like he came here with me.I might be paying him, but god
damn, like he's my date.Women go to a bachelorette party and they
forget how to act. It's notcivilized. It's not civilized. No that
I thought that for him. Iactually was like, boy, you better
(44:01):
go go because these women were literallyis not going to be consensual at all.
Yeah, like you better get hergoing. So and these get wrecked.
Yeah, okay, So I actuallydon't know how this happened because I
feel like they got drunks so fast. Yes, nowhere. Then I it's
(44:24):
like, I cannot tell you howthis all happened. But like then she
went. Then she's at the ATMgetting all this cash out because she's she's
gonna she wants to sleep with himand she wants to give him money.
You know, I didn't I didn'tknow why or well, sorry, let
me rephrase this. I didn't knowthat that was the reason why she was
(44:46):
going to the ATM. I thought, like because they were in the middle
of their bachelorette party. So Ijust figured she was getting more money out
for drinks or whatever. I don'tthink that's clear. So we do find
out later that she was getting thatmoney out because of she thought she had
to pay him. So I agreewith you, I don't think that's clear.
But it's just so crazy to menow. It all happened so fast.
(45:09):
Also, I don't understand. Iguess that was a card wallet back
in the day. But like Ithought for a second she stole someone's cards
because she had all these cards andlike those oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
an old school looking thing, becauseI'm pretty positive my dad had something
like that at some point or something. But like she's just like going through
(45:31):
these cards, and I at firstI was like, did she steal this
from someone? Like this was intense, I thought, see, And this
is why I thought that she wasgetting money out. I thought she was
getting money out for herself. Andthen all the other cards that she was
putting in were other people in thecar, so getting money out for everybody
(45:51):
to continue their night or whatever. But the night didn't really continue. Also,
weird moments with her sister. Hersister, she's getting weird even you
can tell she's like not okay withsomething within her. Yeah, like you
you see it a bit at theparty the night before, she just looks
(46:14):
uncomfortable. She looks a little likeconflicted. She's drinking a lot, and
then at the bachelorette party, she'ssuper drunk and she starts like crying and
saying like I don't deserve to getmarried or whatever. Yeah, so you
just I assumed she doesn't like, actually love this dude, like he like
(46:35):
he very much looks like he lovesher more than she loves him. So
that's what you know. You assumeshe's having second thoughts about the wedding and
have you. But the night doesn'tcontinue. Kat gets dropped off at her
parents' house and she goes into thebedroom and stands over and Nick sleeping like
(46:57):
a fucking creep She's she's a creepy. She stands over him, and the
next thing you know, she istaking him. She's gonna fucking walletful of
cash standing over him in this weirdass outfit. Yeah, she's completely wrecked
and she looks it. Her hairis a mess, like everybody were put
together before. Everybody at this bacheloretteparty looks absolutely ruined. What did they
(47:23):
do? What did they drink, they look like a mess. I don't
know, but it was not good. It was not a good look.
You know. I'm also thinking aboutthis now. You were we were talking
about her sister before and sort oflike her personality. But I wonder too
if like we never really quote unquotemet her sister, because in reality,
the facade she had on was moreof the facade of like, I've done
(47:45):
something really wrong. I'm holding ontothe secret. I don't know how to
act because at the end, youknow, obviously when everything is out,
she feels more normal, like whenshe's crying and stuff. We'll fast forward
to that early later. But somethingyou said earlier made me under that.
I'm like, well, maybe shejust didn't know how to act, you
know, like some people just don'tknow how to lie. M. I
(48:05):
don't know. Yeah, I mean, she's been carrying this big secret,
like a fucked up secret for along time. But I but I still
feel I still don't like her sister, Like she's very selfish, the way
she acts like she she seems likea spoiled, selfish brat, and then
when the secret comes out, she'seven like it really drives that point home
(48:28):
because oh, she's right, becauseshe's like, why'd you tell her or
something? Yeah, yeah, likeshe's she's mad, and how she was
going to handle it too. Shewas yeah, yeah, like it's just
very No, you're right, you'reright. I try to help you,
Amy, but you scotch girl.Mmmmm. I don't know if I blinked
(48:49):
and I missed this, but againshe ends up over neck on the bed
and then they end up in theboat. Her dad was, yeah,
oh, or what I was outside? She brings him to the boat that's
in the driveway. She rocked theboat. That's all I'm gonna say.
I felt very uncomfortable in this scene. I thought it was shot really weird,
(49:12):
like the way like the camera keptcutting but it was like weird,
and it was almost like painfully long, like she was just moving super slow.
And I know her character is supposedto be drunk, but like I
think she was trying to be likereally seductive and sexy when she was like
taking off her clothes and it itwas just not giving. No. No,
(49:36):
I didn't I didn't like the scene. I felt dicky. I don't
blame, but they do it,and she does something really fucked up.
The next morning. Yeah, shewakes up in the boat. Nick gets
up early and leaves the boat beforeher. I guess to get you know,
(49:57):
get coffee and breakfast and whatever together. He got her a few cute
things when he come back. Yeah. Yeah, And she wakes up in
the boat by herself and gets stressedand comes out of the boat. Her
dad sees her leave the boat, and she goes inside to her room and
Nick comes in with all the differentbreakfast things and he gives it to her,
(50:21):
and he goes to bend down tolike give her a kiss. Like
it seems like a very genuine gesturefrom him that he's going to go and
just like kiss her because they hadthis moment last night, and she wants
to pull the whole what happened lastnight, like that's fucked up, And
he immediately looks so sad like sheknew what happened. I had to agree
(50:43):
with you, because I really don'tunderstand what her thought process was here,
especially when he is showing up.I think he said something along the lines
of like, I'm not sure whatkind of morning person you are kind of
thing, and like he got herlike all these different morning drinks and items
that people could want, so II have to agree. I think she
didn't like that, no, becauseshe's trying to play it off like she
(51:04):
didn't know what happened, even thoughshe went and got money out the night
before, you woke up naked ona bow, and she exactly, And
then she asked, she's in theroom she hit the bag with the cash.
Yes, so she knew. Shedidn't want him to find fucking shady.
Yeah, she knew. And Idon't know, I don't know if
(51:27):
she was like embarrassed or what, but it was just, yeah, it
left a bad taste in my mouththe way she behaved the next morning.
And he didn't even miss a beebecause she was like, she's like,
what happened? He said nothing, and then and like kind of like put
a wall up again, very kindof cold with her, and she looks
happy as fuck that they're going toact like nothing happened, and he knows
(51:52):
exactly. Like he looks under thecovers and finds her purse and sees the
big water cash there, and hegets pissed rightfully, so too, i'd
be like, are you trying toget like a free fuck because you took
the money out like what is this? That whole scene was so weird.
It was, it really was.I loved this comment and he goes like,
(52:15):
you're three hundred dollars short, verysexy. It was just the whole
thing was awkward, the love scene, and then the next morning, to
make matters worse the love scene, there was a Maroon five song playing.
I was fucking I bet you arenot thrilled I'm watching it. It's an
(52:42):
uncomfortable scene to begin with. Andthe only reason why I know it's Maroon
five because once I like really listenedto the voice, I was like,
Oh, this fucking voice. Iknow his voice. It's annoying, it's
out. It's not a song thatI know. I don't think it's like
one of their mainstream songs. AndI was watching it on Amazon, so
when I paused, I could see, like you know, you could see
(53:05):
like the actors and all the infoand stuff. So it confirmed that it
was actually in my room five, and I was like, ugh, get
me out of this scene. Yeah, it was really I do again,
I have to agree with you becauseit was It wasn't great. I think
I can't even tell you what goesafter this because I sort of was like,
what is happening here? Because again, at this point, I don't
really know what's happening, right,Like, at this point, we don't
(53:29):
know what's happened, what's going tohappened in this movie, but it's just
like, oh, she's odd.The thing that I noticed about this movie
is that there are a lot ofscenes that go on too long and they're
very awkward. So like, yeah, the love scene is long and it's
(53:50):
shot weird, and then you know, they have this fight the morning after
and they have to go to theballroom dancing classes that's where, and that
scene is really long because they're likemad at each other and then they just
keep spinning around and around and aroundand way too long and he like kind
(54:12):
of drops her, Like it's justlike a weird back and forth. Yes,
yeah, yeah, I even forgotabout that ballroom dancing. Yeah,
is after this when they do thebrunch, Yeah, because the ballroom dancing,
I guess they get their frustrations out. And then after twirling around the
room, you know, twenty fuckingtimes, they make up and they're cool
(54:36):
at each other again, and thenthey go to I guess her like family's
lake house or whatever, and they'relike, Ed is cooking food, they
have a barbecue, they're playing cardgames. Everybody's in good spirits. The
wedding is the next day, Ibelieve, Yeah, I think so,
yeah, this is the one wherewe find out a little bit of the
(54:57):
history between the two sisters. Yeah. Yeah, So Ed is cooking I
guess, like brunch whatever it is. And they they're playing the card games,
and then they're wondering where where's Amy, Like Amy's not here yet,
And so the card game finishes orI guess it gets interrupted because Ed comes
(55:19):
over informs them that he and Amyhave never had a fight, thus they've
never had makeup sex. And thenKat and the cousin go and chase him
for some reason. They're running aroundscreaming and laughing, cringe. And then
Nick goes and looks for Amy,I think her. Their father asks him
(55:44):
to go and go to I don'tknow, the lake house or guesthouse,
whatever it is. And Nick goesand he opens the door and you see
Amy and Jeffrey, Kat's ex fiance, really close to each other. I
think he's even holding her hands orholding her wrists. They're out like overlooking
(56:06):
the water or whatever, and thenimmediately like they step away from each other.
It's super awkward. Nick knows thathe's just interrupted something weird and Jeffrey.
Jeffrey says something like pissed that thatyou got interrupted, and he leaves.
And then Nick was like, I'mI was just checking on you.
(56:27):
I you know, you didn't showup. Everybody was wondering where you were.
That's all I was doing. Andshe starts to tell him a little
bit of this big, big secret, the history of the four of them,
her and Ed and Kat and Jeffrey, and starts asking him like,
do you think do you think placeshave memories? Like I hope they do.
(56:51):
I hope they don't, like Ihope this room doesn't remember everything that's
happened in this room. And itbecomes clear that Amy and Jeffrey had a
thing or we're a thing for alittle bit, and we don't get the
full full story from the Amy andNick perspective. It cuts off. You
see Jeffrey and Kat talking Jeffrey. For some reason, Jeffrey gets into his
(57:15):
head that this is the greatest ideaever that he needs to talk to Kat,
and up into this point, Katis thinking he's going to ask me
to get back together. Like, yeah, everything he's been saying to Nick
and the way he's been behaving, you think that he is feeling remorse over
(57:36):
breaking up with her, that youknow, his comments about this woman that
I love, she's here, shebrought another guy. You think he's talking
about her the entire time. Yeah, that's not the case. And thankfully,
I mean, Nick starts walking backand it kind of interrupts Jeffrey and
Kat. Jeffrey about to drop thisbomb on her because she notices him.
(58:00):
She goes to Nick. He's gota weird look on his face and he
chooses not to say anything to Kat. It's just so weird. It's all
weird, and it's a weird positionfor Nick to be in. He just
stumbled upon this big secret and hedecides he's not gonna say anything to Kat.
He's going to try to play itoff like, no, I'm fine,
(58:22):
and Amy's fine. I found her. Everything's good type of thing.
She doesn't even really think twice aboutthe fact that Jeffrey's like trying to tell
her this big thing. She doesn'treally care. And I think after this,
there they get ready they there havethey all changed into like cocktail attire.
(58:43):
They're having like a I guess likea rehearsal dinner. It's it's the
night before the wedding, so they'rethey're all outside at this long table,
sharing stories, doing toasts, andthen you you also get a glimpse into
this like rivalry between Kat and hersister. M mmmmm. Yeah. Apparently
(59:08):
they were really close up until Tonyshows up in their life, which was
Kat's first boyfriend, which sort offoreshadows a little bit of what happened with
this big there's this big competition betweenthem when it comes to men and the
and the attention of men. Andyou hear throughout the movie that Kat was
(59:29):
always so popular with the boys. It's possible her sister was jealous. Whatever
it was. Yeah, I don'tremember Priscilla how because this is the dinner.
Then when Jeffrey Dusk get catalone, you get to tell her. I
don't remember exactly how this all happened, but I feel really bad for her
because I think overall she's in reallygood spirits. Yeah, she seems like
(59:52):
she feels good about where she's atwith Nick, even like something has shifted
with them, and it seems likeit's something more than a business transaction.
And she seems happy about that, and the you know, the day is
going well, and I believe shegoes back inside to get more wine.
(01:00:13):
Yes she does, yep, becausethen Jeffrey goes inside and she's downstairs in
the wine cellar. He kind ofcorners her in there, and Nick comes
in shortly after them. He's gotall these glasses in his hand. He's
kind of searching for a spot toput him down, but I think he's
also kind of looking for them aswell, and he is, I guess
(01:00:36):
by the by the entrance of thewine cellar, and he listens in on
Jeffrey trying to talk to Kat,and she keeps interrupting him, like you
know, he's he's starting to saylike, you know, I've wanted to
say this to you and everything that'shappened and blah blah blah, and and
she cuts him off because she realizes, like she's ready to let go.
(01:01:00):
Yeah, she doesn't need to hearthis. She also doesn't need the validation
of him like wanting him wanting herback, because she thinks that he wants
her back, and he just dropsa big old bomb on her. Well,
Nick overhears that bit when she's likedeclining him, and he smiles,
(01:01:22):
does he's a little weird smile, walks away, And then as soon as
he walks away, Jeffrey dumps.Yes, yes, he hears up until
the point where Kat declined, andit makes him happy because yes, you
realize he's like yeah, yeah, yeah. But then Jeffrey tells, Kat,
(01:01:42):
I slept with your sister. Ihad a thing with your sister.
That's why we broke up, likeI was in love with her kind of
thing and still in with her.Crazy. That is crazy. That cute
fashion is wild in and of itself. But like the timing of the of
the bomb dropping, like yeah what? And also do you notice that like
(01:02:06):
he looks happy and proud kind oflike he has this looked on his face
that almost looks like he's happy orlike proud of himself to be able to
say this to her and not evencaring like how this is going to affect
her? Do you? I don'tknow if you notice, like he just
he's not phased by, like hethinks this is okay. I don't remember
(01:02:30):
paying attention to his face or tohim a lot. I mostly was now
looking at Kats and Amy's face becausewhen Kat comes out back to the to
the area where everyone's at and Lock'seye with Locks eyes with Amy, it's
very noticeable right then and there thatlike Amy knows, like, oh she
(01:02:50):
knows, like this is the secretis out. So no, I didn't
notice that about Jeffrey because I wasn't. I didn't, I don't. I
think I stopped looking at him fora second after that. Yeah, when
he's when he's confessing in the cellar, he has this I know it keeps
saying the words, but it justhe looks proud of saying I don't know,
Like it's just it's so wild becauseit's either not registering or he just
(01:03:15):
doesn't care that like this is somethingthat is like he just drove a knife
into her heart, like bad enoughthat you left me at the altar.
Now I know that you left meat the altar because you were cheating on
me with my sister, that youleft me for her, but nothing like
(01:03:37):
she didn't choose you, and you'restill in love with her and you want
to convince her to not be withEd, who is your best friend and
you are his best man. Likeit's also insane he needed to be out,
which I'm glad how the movie endedfor him, like he needed to
(01:03:57):
be out. Yeah. Yeah,I also really about for Kat because her
cousin knew as well, So Ifeel like everyone knew everyone. That is
a horrible feeling when you find somethingout and you realize you're the last person
to find out and it has somethingtold with you. Yes, absolutely,
(01:04:19):
yeah, And then I feel badbecause I actually I thought this was a
beautiful scene. She like runs intoNick's arms and she looks very protected,
but then Amy yells that you knowyou told her, and immediately Kat's looking
at him like with that same betrayalof like you also knew. And it's
(01:04:41):
sad. It is sad. Firstof all, Amy has no reason to
be mad at Nick, even ifhe did tell her. I agree,
yeah, like you don't have aleg to stand on. You can't be
mad at anybody but yourself. Andthen Jeffrey, like, you have this
whole last plan to swoop in andsteal your friend's fiance and then when he
(01:05:04):
comes up to you and it's like, what's going on, what's happening?
You lie to his fucking face.Ye, And so do you think Kat
is valid in being pissed at Nick. Yes and No. I think mainly
no, because I don't think itwas it's his position to tell you.
(01:05:25):
I think she was already imagining theirrelationship to be a lot deeper than it
was at that moment, And Ifeel like, if you're just starting out,
like maybe like it just feels likethere's not that deep for him to
tell you, you know, maybeyou should find out that he literally just
found out and may have been thinkingabout it himself, how even address it.
(01:05:46):
So for those reasons, I feellike no. But then at the
same time, I can understand fromher point of view and feeling like you
and I are a team in thissituation, you should have just found a
way to tell me as soon asyou've found out. So, in my
truly rough fashion, I don't knowyes and no makes sense to me,
(01:06:08):
but I think I lean more towardsno. I agree with you. I
understand why she got mad at him, but it's wrong to be that pissed
off at him, like you're you'redirecting your anger at the wrong person.
Yea. And also I'd be likeif I mean, if I were Nick,
I'd be like, I literally justfound out like like a few hours
(01:06:30):
ago. I literally just found likeI'm still trying to learn the dynamics of
all of y'all, and I justfound that out. Like I'm let me
read the script first, you know. Yeah, yeah, no, I
agree. And the sister, thesister being like running after her, not
giving like not asking her. Areyou okay asking her? Please? Don't
tell ed? Yeah what? Ididn't love her sister's reaction to all of
(01:06:57):
this to be more of like thewhole I don't want to tell him.
I want to tell him later, like after they get married, which I
thought Kat did a really good jobof, like really like that. That's
when you want to do this tohim. You're going to trick him into
marrying you and then pull a rugout from under him. Yeah, that's
fucked. Yeah. I don't rememberexactly how we get here, but definitely
(01:07:23):
Nick leaves, and he leaves allher money. He decides not to take
a penny from the six thousand dollars, and he lives in an envelope for
her. I just wanted to say, I thought the handwriting was so pretty
on that envelope. Whoever wrote that, kudos to you. But that happens
is the day of the wedding, which I know. Kat tells her sister
(01:07:43):
Amy like I'm going to you know, today i'm mad at you. Tomorrow
i'll play the part. I'll bethere for you for your wedding and you
handle this however you need to.But today i'm mad at you. I
thought the wedding day, like themontage of them like running around was so
chaotic, which also makes me feellike they had money because there were coming
out of like Olave Mega Marco cominggoing to her wedding. The whole setup
(01:08:06):
was like pretty sure they were inlike a Rolls Royce or something. Oh
shit, yeah, it was veryfancy. It's whole fiasco, like yeah,
running around like Kat doesn't really wantto smile for the photo, Like
I just I just can't believe thateverybody still was going through with everything and
(01:08:30):
it was just gross. I didn'tlike it. It felt really uncomfortable,
which I I can. You know, we then see Kat was sitting in
a corner outside on the steps orsomething, because I can't imagine how difficult
all of that must be. Likefirst off, it's not just made a
betrayal on me, but now Ihave to play art as you are tricking
your future husband who is adorable, and her dad comes to talk to her
(01:08:55):
around the same theme of the movie, which is like you should always know
what you want blah blah blah blahblah kind of thing. And then austar
if she wanted this guy knit andshe says yes, So no, she's
running after Nick. Yeah, Ineed to bring up a part that I
kind of forgot about. There's apart between Nick and her step dad where
(01:09:15):
they talk. Do you remember that. They're like they're speaking one on one.
They're at a table, they're eatingsome kind of appetizer or something,
and Nick like he like puts thetoothpick with the food, like he hides
it or whatever. And then andthen the stepdad gives him another way,
Like I don't know what that conversationwas about, Like it seemed like her
(01:09:39):
stepfather was challenging him. Like theway he was talking to him, I
was like, does he know whatNick does? Like it seemed kind of
hostile. I don't remember that conversationat all. Actually, okay, I
rewatch. Yeah, it seemed likeI took it as hostile or like protective
daddy kind of conversation. I wonderif it might have been like that,
(01:10:03):
like a protective dad tier type ofthing. Maybe, But I it had
me very confused, especially the likeappetizers in the mix, like his dad
or her dad was like, oh, try this, and then Nick grabs
a toothpick with whatever the appetizer was, and he holds it in his hand,
(01:10:23):
but then he hides it behind acandle or something and like tucks it
in, and then the dad handshim another one and then Nick eats it.
Like I don't know, it justseemed very aggressive, challenging, confrontational.
I don't know what that scene wasabout. No, I didn't catch
that, the challenge of who's thebigger man? I guess it was a
(01:10:48):
very confusing scene. So Kat isgoing to try to track down Nick.
Ed goes to the room that hisfiance is in. She is a mess,
She's crying, hysterical. She endsup confessing to him, there's something
you should know before we get married. Here's what it is. And of
(01:11:09):
course he's upset. What I likeabout Ed is that he's not only upset
about this lie and how it affectshim, he's upset about the fact that
they betrayed Catt yeah, yeah, yeah, I thought that was so beautiful.
Again, I was just I lovedEd. Ed should have been the
(01:11:29):
main guy in this movie. Butanyway, he maybe, Like there was
definitely a moment where I thought Edand Kat should maybe they'd be they'd be
better suited for each other. Yeah, because the other two, the other
two deserve each other. They're bothfucked up people. Yeah. No,
I thought Ed was so cute.He was really upset about that about Kat.
Yeah, that was so cute.Yeah, because he like he was
(01:11:54):
obviously upset as he took in thenews. But then his next question was
does cat know? And then whenhe leaves the room, he runs into
Jeffrey and then you know, chasesafter him. Jeffrey's like, oh shit,
he knows, and he runs awaylike a little bit instead of facing
the consequences, Like okay, andNick and Ed cross paths because Nick is
(01:12:17):
driving away, he runs into Ed, who is really trying his hardest to
chase after Jeffrey, and Jeffrey isjust smoking him. He's like in another
country. I love how Nick saysthat he's like he's halfway through to France
House. Yeah, so Ed andNick have this heart to heart and surprisingly
(01:12:43):
Ed still wants to marry her becausecorrect me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty
sure it wasn't just they slept togetherwhile he and Kat were engaged, and
right before she and Ed got together. I thought they still like had a
few occurrences happen even after they gottogether. I don't think so. I
(01:13:04):
think it was just that moment, and that moment, I think, unless
I missed something, I think itwas they happened, but then now that
she started dating Ed, it wasmore of a like, now Jeffrey's around
all the time after that happened sortof thing, like Jeffrey was always around
because of Kat. Then that happened, and then I feel like, now
(01:13:26):
Jeffrey's around, and there's this tensionbetween her him and Amy. I don't
know. I could be wrong, but from what I gathered, I think
it was just that happened, whichwould make me, I'm not gonna lie
to it would make me feel alot better about Ed forgiving her because technically
this happened before them, even thoughshe should have said something. But I
really hope not more happened because thenfor Ed, well he makes a comment
(01:13:50):
where he was like, I knowthat you were seeing someone. I knew.
I knew that you were seeing someonewhen we got together, but I
didn't. You never but you neversaid who. And when he tells Nick
this, like he basically was like, well, you know, I knew
this, this was something we workedthrough. But now that I know who
(01:14:11):
it is and I know that itis my best friend and he was engaged
to her sister, like, itchanges things a little bit. So maybe
when they first started, she maybehad a couple of moments where she wasn't
faithful because she went back to Jeffrey, which is maybe why he said,
like, we worked through that, but it ed didn't know who it was,
so it's a tough ed wasn't atough spot. So I'm actually very
(01:14:35):
surprised that he went through with thewedding on the same I'm surprised too,
And I feel like Nick almost convincedhim to marry her because I think he
I think he said something like, you know, if you if at the
end of the day you still likewould rather be with her in a mess
(01:14:55):
rather than not be with her, then you know you should consider it,
or something like that. But yeah, no, I don't think I could.
I think I definitely need a second, you know, like a hot
second, not just a couple ofminutes. However, this was I need
I make a decision. Yeah.So it's interesting how the movie ends in
(01:15:16):
that sense. I think I likeread this specifically, but like, now
Nick becomes it's best man. It'slike it just feels like very chaotic.
It's so rush. Yeah it justhappened. Yeah, they like swap out
the best man. Nick is thebest man just like that. And oh,
oh, I'm sorry. It wasn't. It wasn't Nick's advice of like,
(01:15:40):
well, you know, if afterall this, you'd rather be with
her in a difficult spot than notthan not with her at all. It
was his afterthought that was like, well, think of it this way,
you can spend the rest of yourlife having makeup sext And that seems to
do the trick because the next hised running hauling ass to get to the
(01:16:02):
church and get married, and I'mlike, yeah, okay, yeah,
I forgot about that, but yeah, that was that was what did it
for him. Yeah, but thenNick turns around and that's the most beautiful
thing to freaking Kat and says,I'd rather hold on. It was the
exact words was I'd rather because heyou know, he sees hat rather fight
with you than make love with anyoneelse. That line didn't did nothing for
(01:16:27):
me. Really, I thought thatwas so romantic. I didn't like it.
I hated it. Actually, notonly is it cheesy, but I
was like you, no, Ihad a physical reaction a line. I
was like, you wrote this,I thought that I was cute. Okay,
fine, you're right. I'm justsaying how how I took it.
(01:16:49):
I just maybe it was his delivery, like I feel like he didn't mean
it, like it didn't sound likebecause he looks like what he looks.
So I was and you know, you're like, wait, what, oh
god, Yeah, can we talkabout her hair real quick? Her hair
(01:17:10):
looks messed up whatever hairstyle that isthat they did for her for that wedding.
Half of the hair is like outin her face. Yeah yeah,
yeah. No. They go ona la shotgun wedding and they have a
full on wedding. I'm a fullon wedding and they're dancing and they're laughing.
And I liked how the end ofthe movie is that you get a
(01:17:31):
little recap of how everyone sort ofdid afterwards. Which is cute. Yeah,
you kind of get your closure there, oh little. It wasn't enough,
but it was fine. I didn'tcare about closure. Honestly, I
didn't care to know what happened toany of these people need at all,
at all. I don't know whatit is. We'll talk about it more
(01:17:53):
in the rating, but I don'tknow what it was about this movie that
I just didn't care. I didnot. I'm so glad you said that
because I did not give a shit. I don't let me jump right into
it. Then let's all right,So what do you write this movie?
Priscilla? From one through five?Flying Moji, Flying Moneymoji. You might
(01:18:16):
be surprised by this, but ohokay, I gave it a one out
of five. Wow. I thoughtit was a really weird movie. I
didn't like the story. It mademe feel like gross and he was the
only Well that's not true, becauseI think Debra Messing did a good job.
(01:18:41):
Like she's she's cute and quirky orwhatever, but like Dermott, Dermott
Lroni's like, the only saving graceis the fact that I'm watching like this
hot guy the entire movie. That'sthat's it. I was not into it.
I don't blame I'm so curious whatyou gave it. Well, you're
gonna be shocked, that's for sure. I gave it three, really I
(01:19:05):
did. But here's why. Though. Literally the movie was right to the
point, it was fine. Itwas kind of like a feel good movie.
I guess the way it ended likeeveryone was happy whatever, Like it
was just good. So I justwas like, right in the middle.
Then I didn't care to have closure. You could ask me, right now,
what are all those people up toand I or you could tell me,
(01:19:27):
I will give you every detail oftheir lives up until from two thousand
and five until this point. Iwouldn't care at all. I wouldn't even
read it, wouldn't even watch it. I don't care. It was just
good. It was fine. Itwas good. It was fine. Yeah,
So I don't know. I landedon a three because I thought it's
right in the middle. It's inthere somewhere, right. I have to
tell you. So, when Ifirst watched this movie, when I was
(01:19:49):
completely zooted. This was like acouple months ago, I think, I
think, actually, no, Ifeel like you were still living here.
I feel like I watched it afterwe came back from going out somewhere,
and so I was like kind ofmessed up and I wasn't tired. So
I went on to Netflix and Isaw I was on Netflix, and I'm
(01:20:11):
like, you know what, Iknow We're going to do this at some
point, but I've never seen itand I'm finally just gonna watch it.
And watching it, I was justlike, what is this movie? And
so when I watched it yesterday, because I was like maybe, I mean,
I'll watch it again. I feellike because I was impaired, maybe
(01:20:33):
maybe I maybe I should watch thissober. And so no, I still
felt the same way. It wasjust weird. I hated that storyline,
the sister messing with the ex fianceand then everybody acting like it's all good
(01:20:54):
at the end of the movie,Like what is that? Yeah, yeah,
I don't. I don't like thatAmy gets away with it, you
know how I am about justice andpeople getting fucked over and that person not
getting their come upance, Like, well, maybe she didn't get away with
(01:21:14):
it. Let's let's rewrite history.Maybe at a single right now and available
maybe and that's your cue. Headover there, head over there and snap
him up. Now no, Buthonestly, you know, I agree with
you in the sense like because yeah, you definitely you're like, listen,
(01:21:35):
these people need the Amy needs topay Doxica Like, yes, yes,
she gets her little rich boy likenothing happened to her. She had a
few moments of being uncomfortable, youknow what I mean, and like,
(01:21:58):
yeah, I guess you know,in earlier parts of the movie she's quote
unquote like tortured by what she's done, but it hasn't stopped her from moving
forward with all this stuff. Sodoes she really feel that bad? And
you were and I still don't wantto tell exactly. Yeah, h she
didn't want it. No, shesucks. No, I just I've watched
(01:22:21):
it and I thought, oh,this is you know, I will say
this. I love when a movieis like this and it's not that long.
I think if this would have beentwo hours, I would be like
whoa, Like yeah, no,you're right, it was. It was
a very quick watch. There weresome scenes that I feel went on too
(01:22:42):
long and we're kind of awkward, but the movie as a whole was not
long at all. Yeah, LikeI definitely wouldn't rewatch at this point.
M I feel like no, No, I'm good. I'm good. I
don't really, yeah, I don't. I don't feel any type of way
towards never mussing. I know she'slike, like I've I've I've seen a
few episodes of Will and Grace.I don't know anything else that I've maybe
(01:23:05):
seen her in Delman whatever his nameis. It's fine, I've seen him
in something else at some point. He's I think Ed might be the only
one that I would rewatch this moviefour because he's so cute. That's it.
No, I'm good. I've seenit twice and that is enough.
(01:23:27):
Well, sadly the first time.Actually, both times you were doing it
for work reasons, right, Likethe first time you were like, I'm
gonna have to watch this movie. At some point, I was like,
I might as well watch it.But I didn't write anything down. So
I had to watch it yesterday becauseI was like, I don't remember anything
like or like anything specifically said.I knew like I remembered the plot line
(01:23:51):
and stuff, and I remembered Iwasn't crazy about the plot line, but
I couldn't remember specifics. So unfortunatelyI had a subject myself to it again.
