Speaker 1 (00:02):
You've created everything, what's put a powerful being you are.
You did these things, but now you're in a human body.
You forget the power you have.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
What you do is what the whole universe is doing
at the place you call here, and now you are
something the whole universe is doing, in the same way
that a way is something that the whole ocean is doing.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
You're doing doing what.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Welcome to metiistics where you don't know what you don't know.
My name's Jonathan, I'm Sean, and tonight is going to
be a fun time. We are going to get We're
going to learn a little bit about paganism and certain
pagan holidays and certain Wiccan holidays and just autumn equinox stuff.
(01:00):
Going to get a little ritualistic and informed a little bit.
And also there's a lot of deeper meaning behind a
lot of this Autumn equinox kind of stuff too, which
we're going to get into, as far as the Orphic
mysteries and the Illocinian mysteries and all the different mystery
schools of the time and how they told stories like
(01:21):
this to almost like you know, this is the this
is the story for everybody, but deep inside of the
actual story itself holds mysteries itself too.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Oh that's great, you know, and just just having Mario
on recently as far as like the symbolism goes and
everything else, and you know, a story can hold a
lot of symbolism and things that you can really apply
for yourself, you know, hearing these stories. So yeah, and
I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, dude. There's always deeper meanings that are conveyed, you know,
to the initiated, and that's what we try to do
on this show is just initiate ourselves and in the
process initiate everybody else that wants it as well.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
That's it. That's it, man, I'm ready, yes, yes.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
So first off, this is going to be what I
thought was called Mayban or Maybon turns out wrong tho,
because it's actually uh, it's a Welsh thing. It started
out like as a Welsh thing right from Bon and
where I'm you know what, I'm just going to share
the screen and I will show everybody how it's supposed
(02:28):
to be said. This is actually from a Welsh person,
so if anybody can say it, it's going to be her,
right definitely. That being said, before we get into this
I do want to say if anybody wants to be
able to join on the live shows like the one
we are doing tonight, it's every Wednesday night at nine
pm Central, just sign up for the Wonder Wednesday's Tire

We have multiple different tiers. If you're not into joining

but you want to have access to all the shows,
there is a tier that is three dollars and thirty
three cents. I think that's literally like as cheap as

(03:32):
wanted to make it accessible to everybody and so yeah,
we got we got a little something for everybody, So
go and check it out, and we appreciate all of
the one that are already doing.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
So.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yes, as why boy wizard just said Wednesday is the medicine. Yeah,
and I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, I feel myself healing every Wednesday night.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, I need these just as much
as everybody else.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Real shit, I can get prettier every week. Yes, you
you actually, sir. So all right, well let's listen to it.
She you know, first off, she's a little frustrated because
she's like, all these witches and all these pagans and
all these wickens. They they they say that they're trying
(04:15):
to teach everybody else about what maybein is. And she goes, well,
first of all, how can you try and even say
what maybein is if you don't even know how to
say the damn word. So I was like, all right,
she's on something right now. So we're gonna I skip
past that part and we're gonna get to it right here. Okay,
here is how we say it.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
Be clear, companies do not have an issue with your
referring to the autumnal equinox with this name. We have
an issue with how you're saying it and how you're
going about talking about it. If I hear one more
person say maybein or Maybond, I might rip my hair out.
How can you claim to be celebrating a holiday and
the deity you don't know anything about, because if you did,
first of all, you'd know his name is Cabraig and
(04:56):
Comraig is a phonetic language. All of these letters only.
Speaker 7 (04:59):
Make one sound every single time you say them, and
it's not the sound you keep assigning them. Ma ma stressed.
The map ma bon map means son on is a
suffix indicating divinity. You'd also know that Matron is the
divine son of the divine mother. He's a day I
(05:19):
take a hearing company, and he makes appearances in our mythology.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
And okay, so map bon b all right, I'm glad
we get that cleared up right away, because she would
have she would probably got real pissed off at us.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
She would have came for us.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I think we already said it like a few times.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Wrong, maybe ma bon no, it's ma bon Okay? All right,
all right, Well we're gonna do our best to try
and say it the correct way, but either way, it's
just a Mabon is actually a it's a Wiccan festival
to celebrate the autumn equinox. So I thought, hey, is
(05:55):
there ever a better site to go to for this
kind of stuff than the Pagan Grimoire.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
I don't know. I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
So and as you'll see rate here, it's actually so
Mabon is on the Wheel of the year, Wheel of
the year calendar of this is a Wiccan calendar, and
you'll see that, you know, all of the ones that
we've talked about. You have Yule, which is December twentieth
to the twenty third, and it's not you know, for
(06:21):
three straight days. It's just it changes every year with
the procession and all this stuff. Right, So this is
why you hear like the Yule tide and all this stuff. Right,
it's rate before Christmas in Bulk is between February first
to the second. Ostara is March nineteenth to the twenty first.
Beltane is April thirtieth to the first to May first,
(06:43):
and then you have Litha or Midsummer is June twentieth
to the twenty second. This word rate here, I had
a little trouble but it is pronounced I believe Luna
Sa Luna sad or some shit like that, or actually, no,
I looked at up earlier Luna saw yeah, and so
(07:04):
I just remembered it by saying, Luna Sa died, you
know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Nice?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
And then you have Mabon, which runs you know, anywhere
September twenty first to the twenty fourth. Actually this year
it is releasing on Monday, which is the day of
the release of this episode. So and that's uh September
twenty second this year. And then finally the final little
uh spickett in the Wheel of the Calendar or the
(07:33):
calendar of the Wheel. What did I say?
Speaker 6 (07:35):
It was?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
We love the calendar, right, we love the year. Damn,
I'm tripping. The final one would would be si Wan,
which is usually everybody associates with Halloween.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
So yeah, we're gonna just skip on past every one
of them until we get to Ma Bonne, all right.
Mabon or the Fall Equinox, is the second harvest festival. Traditionally,
it's when fruits and vegetables are harvested, when autumn begins,
and when wickens believe the goddess moves from Mother to
chron Remember we talked about the Maiden mother Chrome's she's
(08:07):
now getting older now, you know, go shift into the crown.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
As we go into the winter and the darkness, if
you will.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, dude. And it says it's a it's a time
to give thanks for all that has been provided. So yeah,
all right, it's a harvest season, you know. So I
just want to throw that out there. That's gonna be
a little bit just to get us started. But there's
so much that we're going to be getting into tonight.
We're gonna be getting into the lore, the mythology, the
(08:35):
rituals and the meaning behind everything and the mystery school stuff,
because how can we leave that out? And also we
have to we have to. And also there will be
a ritual that we can learn to do in accordance
with the holiday itself. So and that'll be towards the
end of the show. We're not going to do it
(08:55):
tonight as of timer recording. We're just gonna talk about
it because it's a it's a ritual that you're meant
to do on the actual night of September twenty second.
So if you're listening to this the day that it
comes out on the podcast, then you'll be able to well,
unless you're listening to it on the meta platform, then
the day the next day, but either way, all right.
(09:15):
So mabone tonight we gather at a sacred threshold in
the turning of the year. The day and night stand equal,
and we enter into the balance of Mabon the autumn equinox,
the fields are heavy with their last harvest. The leaves
begin to turn in the light of summer gently yields
to the shadows of fall. But you know what, I'm
(09:36):
just gonna keep on saying maben. You know what, It
feels weird to say it, like Welshian like that. But
mabin is not just a feast of gratitude. It's also
a dissent, a moment when we are invited like Persephone,
which we're gonna have a lot to talk about Persephone
in this episode, because most people, if there is ever
a deity that is linked to Mabon, it is Persephone.
(09:59):
So yeah, a moment when we are invited, like Persephone,
to step willingly into the underworld of our own souls.
Hermith tells us that to grow, we must enter the darkness,
taste the seeds, of transformation and learn that wisdom lies
not only in the light, but in the shadow as well. So,
whether you have celebrated many equinoxes before or this is
(10:21):
your very first, here we go, especially to those of
you unafraid to walk between the worlds. So tonight we
are going to honor the harvest of what we have grown.
We give thanks for what we have gathered, and we
open ourselves to the mysteries of Persephone, the maiden who
became queen of the underworld, and the goddess who teaches
us that every descent is the beginning of a rebirth.
(10:44):
Let's go, Soty.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
It's pretty awesome. I like that though, as far as
you know, being appreciative and grateful for the things that
you have accomplished and things that you have gathered, you know,
because I feel like we, I mean, at least for myself,
I forget about the things that I have now that
were once a goal, you know what I'm saying, And
now that you have it, you kind of just you
know what I mean, The excitement of getting it went away,
but you still have it, you know what I mean.
(11:07):
So I feel like we need to maintain that, you know,
gratitude for that.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah, I think so. I think so because we can
it doesn't matter the time of the year, we can
always get a wal Mart for our you know, fruits
and vegetables and food and everything else. And so we're
not necessarily having to deal with the surface level story
as much anymore, which is great. I kind of look
at that as I mean, obviously it's some form of evolution, right,
Like we don't have to go and be hunter and
(11:32):
gatherers anymore. But what that does allow is us, It
allows for us to go inside and understand the deeper
kind of depth of the actual story itself. Right, Yeah,
So light your candles, pour your cider, and join us
as we step into the balance, into the turning into
the mystery of Mabon and Persephone. So, first off, I
(11:56):
want to get to this is a pagan thing, and
I just want to clear the air on this. You know,
the word pagan have a having a stink to it,
by the way, It has a stink to it on purpose,
a lot like the word demon by the way.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
So it is from the Latin word called paganis meaning
country dweller or villager. So early Christians used it derogatorily
to mean that those rustic folks who still worship the
old gods. Essentially, it wasn't a religion itself, but a
catch all category for anything that wasn't Jewish, Christian, or
(12:33):
later Islamic. So everything that wasn't Abrahamic is pagan, right, yep? Okay,
even the flying spaghetti monster pagan yep.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Okay, there are lots of obviously it's everything outside of Christianity.
But to name a few of the religions and traditions
that are traditionally labeled as pagan you would have the
Greco Roman religions, so the worship of Zeus, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Dionysus,
and and and public temples, household shrines, seasonal festivals, and
(13:07):
mystery schools like the Illucinian Mysteries all pagan. Later, it
was rebranded as paganism when Christianity took over the Roman Empire,
which we've kind of talked about that, you know, the
that that transition that happened with Constantine. So that's the
Greco Roman ones. But then there's also the Norse and
(13:28):
Germanic traditions, which some of my favorite I love learning
about that Norse stuff. So you have Odin thor Frea Loki,
and the pantheon of the Asier and Vanier. I'm not
an expert in how to say these things. I hope
that's how you say it. It includes practices like ruine, magic, ancestor,
(13:49):
and ancestor veneration, including seor which means shamanic transwerk. Sounds
pretty badass. And Christian missionaries branded these beliefs as pagan
before converting the Scandinavians. So before you know, Scandinavia, I guess,
became Christianized. They need a little bit of freedom, as
(14:12):
they like to say.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
You know, it's just to catch all phrase for all
of the people that believe in the quote unquote untrue God.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah, yeah, you know. They had to do it that way.
And I find it so strange about how people were
worshiping these deities and doing these rituals and everything for
literally thousands of years, and then Christianity comes along and
says that's the devil, that's the devil in disguise. Actually
all again, my mama said, so then you have, of
(14:42):
course your Celtic and Druidic spirituality, the worship of deities,
tied to the land, whether we talk about Brigid Lube
or Sir nunos Uh. There's deep seasonal festivals like Sawan
Beltane Imbalk and Lunasa did And which included sacred groves,
(15:04):
stone circles, and druid priesthoods Uh. Christians casted the Druids
as pagan priests m.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
A. R.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
I always find it funny when you know we call something,
you know, we call somebody something. It's like that's an
outsider making up a term for something that we don't understand.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Is really how it catches on though, you know what
I mean. You get enough people saying it, it becomes
the law, gets the people going it does.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Then, of course there's your Egyptian religion, so the worship
of raw isis o Cyrus and Nubis and Hathor via
temple rituals, afterlife teachings and the Book of the Dead,
the Egyptian Book of the Dead, and as Christianity rose
in Egypt, these became pagan practices, so you see it's
all pays right. Then of course you have your Mesopotamian
(15:58):
and Near Eastern religions such as Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian and
Assyrian traditions, so Ishtar, marduk, Anki, Shamash and countless others
that are included in those religions. Uh, Christians and later
Muslims lumped these into pagan idol worship.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Mmmm. Of course it's a big no no dude.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
You know, I feel like that there needs to be
a reciprocal going on here. You know, if if we're
considered pagan, what do we call you know, the Abrahamic religions?
We need to come up with a new term.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Okay, well we'll work on it. Yeah, it's gotta be
something good.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Let us know in the chat, we want to know,
like what kind of good ideas can we come up with,
not necessarily insulting, but maybe just a little slight you know,
just just.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Cold blooded.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Maybe.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Then there is your Slavic and Baltic faiths. So we've
not talked about these, but uh, there is Perun, which
is the thunder god, Makash which is the earth mother,
and Vealis, who is the lord of the underworld. With
these you would have seasonal rights that are tied to agriculture, fire, festivals,
and ancestor reverence. Christianity called them Pagan russ or Heathens
(17:17):
for lack of a better word.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Hmm, okay, sounds good. You know, I think it's interesting,
you know, as far as like these older cultures, and
you know, how they they found a way to look
at the world and almost invent their own god to
describe what they see around them, you know what I mean.
Obviously there's lightning in the sky. All that's the god
of lightning. He's throwing lightning bolts. It's just their way
(17:40):
of interpreting what they experience, you know, And so I
don't know, I feel like it's all the same thing,
you know.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, I thought that, you know, people usually like to
make some kind of slights at how the more ancient
people used to label the gods, right, and people like
take it literal, And maybe maybe you do take it
kind of literal, but I don't think it's always entirely literal,
Like for example, like how you just brought up like
the god of thunder and you know, there's a lightning strike,
(18:10):
must be you know, right right, must be four or
something like that, and and maybe that's how you look
at it. But I like to believe that they probably
just associated everything that happens in nature and in reality
with certain spiritual components, right, you know, that just makes
more sense. If this is a spiritual life that we're living,
(18:32):
why wouldn't we label every single thing that we see
around us naturally as spiritual?
Speaker 5 (18:37):
You know?
Speaker 1 (18:38):
So I like that way, Yeah, so yeah, that was
the Mesopotamian and the Eastern ones than the Slavic and
the Baltic. Nextly, we have the indigenous traditions of Europe.
So there are animistic beliefs across tribes before organized state religions,
reverence for spirits in rivers, trees, and mountains.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Right, even the inanimate objects have some type of spirit
to them, some type of consciousness. I would say, well
to them.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
There ain't no such thing as you know, not living
right or unanimated. So many elements survived in folk Christianity,
like harvest festivals or Yule, so they didn't really come
after the indigenous traditions of Europe too hard, No, And
(19:27):
then you have the broader use of pagan in history.
By the Middle Ages, pagan meant any non Christian or
non Muslim, so Buddhists, Hindus, Native Americans, and even African
traditional religions were labeled pagan by outsiders. In Islamic history,
the word mushrick I think I'm saying that, right, which
means the one one who associates partners with God. It
(19:50):
carried a similar meaning applied to polytheists and animus. So
if you think that rock is alive, well you think there's.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
More than one g right, Yeah, that's so silly.
Speaker 6 (20:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Over time, pagan became synonymous with idle worshiper heathen or
unbeliever Heathen.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
That one really, for some reason, just got a good
stink on it, doesn't it even It's like, I'm insulted Heathen.
I'm a little bit upset, and I'm not even sure why. Imagine.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Imagine you are a worshiper of the Flying Spaghetti Monster
for a second, right, and you label everybody that is
not worshiping the Flying Spaghetti Monster as an unbeliever.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Yeah, that's see. You know that's true. It's true. But
it still makes me feel bad, you know. That's the
point though, that's the point, you know, if you feel
a little guilty when they call you that, You're like,
you know what, maybe I should look into it.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
You know, got to beat you up a little bit,
you know, ye no no, no, no no no, yeah
did did classic YouTube? Classic that's old school YouTube. Whenever
everything was a go, there was nothing being censored. It
was it was a crazy wasteland that I missed dearly.
(21:10):
And also that fucking tripping lizard.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Do you remember that thing drinking out of cups?
Speaker 1 (21:15):
I think great, drinking out of cups being a bitch. Yeah,
it's crazy. Yeah, Oh it's a walkway. Missed a walk
down me on the walkway, Dude, it's crazy. It's like
this Bostonian or New Jersey accent and it's just like
this lizard when it's it's actually the story goes that
there was a guy that somebody, uh, there was these
(21:38):
two roommates that live together. I believe this is the
story that there was these two roommates that lived together
and the one roommate gave the other roommate like some
acid or something like that, and he got like all
scared and went to go like hide in the closet,
and so he's tripping balls in the closet and he's
just saying whatever comes to his mind and like what
(22:00):
whatever he's seeing and everything, and so it's hilarious. Highly
suggest everybody check that out. It is a good laugh.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Absolutely, almost immediately after getting off of this where I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
It, you know what, maybe we'll do it after the
meditation get real weird, all right. Yeah, So anyhow, the
modern reclamation to it, so it's almost like, you know,
you you call somebody a word as a slight and
then people start taking it on almost as a badge
of honor. Right, and so where pagan used to be considered,
(22:33):
you know, a bad thing and you don't want to
be considered a pagan, right now, everybody's like it's it's
being reclaimed.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
So kind of sounds familiar, like when the use of
a conspiracy theorist, you know, that was meant to totally
just take away any kind of credibility that you have
in every word that you say. And now it's like
you're taking that back, you know.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Yeah, buddy, thank you Cia, director of the nineteen eighties.
We appreciate you, buddy. So so today many people probably
reclaim pagan as a spiritual identity. So and and if
you think about it, the term pagan, since it is
all encompassing, it's quite eclectic.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Oh absolutely, Oh, it's like the original eclectic excluded nobody's excluded.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
The Christian you can't join, you know, yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Yeah, I mean unless you're like a Jewish mystic that's
studying the Kabbalah. You know, you can come, you can come.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Hang yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
But so anyhow, the people that are probably reclaiming it
would be the neo paganists, which is a modern revival
of pre Christian European practices which is pretty badass Wicca
and witchcraft. So ritual magic, goddess in God, worship and
honoring the will of the year. Then there is uh
(23:52):
heathen re and assat rue or as true asa true.
That's what it is, heathen re and osa true. You
know what, because we had Anthony come on the show
do one of the very first meta episodes. We had
Anthony come on the show and describe to us like
everything that was everything that was nourse and that's what
(24:12):
he I remember him bringing up that asa true and
heathenly obviously, But so this would be a reconstruction of
Norse Germanic faiths, and then you would have druidry and
Celtic reconstructionism. So this would be reviving Celtic spirituality and rituals.
So for many pagan for many, the term pagan now
(24:35):
means earth centered, polytheistic nature, honoring spirituality, a word of
empowerment rather than an insult. And I kind of look
at it the same way.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
I'll take it, dude, I'm a pagan, all duh. Pagan
baby yea.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
And especially if you go all the way back to
what we were talking about, like literally it comes from
the Latin word paganis, meaning villager, Like why was how
was that I'd ever seen as a slight in the
first place?
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Yeah? Who knows? Who knows?
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Yeah, dude? But anyhow, all right, now we're going to
get into Mabon. So Maybon is the name given to
the autumn equinox in modern Paganism and in Wickup. It's
one of the eight sabots in the Wheel of the year.
It usually falls around September twenty first to the twenty
third in the northern hemisphere. Pretty important. The equinox marks
the moment when day and night are equal in length,
(25:26):
symbolizing balance, harvest, and transition. So where it all comes from. Allegedly,
this is where it all comes from. Some people debate this,
They say, look like the term mayban, and you know,
the wheel of the year, and you know, like these
kind of things, they're they're new, they're not old. But
(25:48):
whenever we say Megan or Mayban, rather it just understand
we mean the autumn equinox. YEP, that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
But which is really cool because I think I was
looking it up and I think it actually like that
very precise moment of where we are at that that
line up with the sun and all that is like
at two fifty am, Like that's the precise like time.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
I guess, Oh, yeah, it's different everywhere you go too.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
So that's fun because I thought it said it was
something like on the twenty third, but I guess if
it's at two fifty in the morning, then it would
be the following day.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
But yeah, it depends on where you're at, and so
it's all about like where the sun is in accordance
with where you are if you want to get real
precise with it. So some people will do a ritual
at the precise like you know, the ten minute buffer
zone on either side of the exact time that maybe
is supposed to be occurring. So yeah, and it's like
(26:47):
I said, it's different everywhere, but it usually this time
of this year on the twenty second. For the most part,
everybody in the northern hemisphere is going to be experiencing
it on the twenty second, for the most most part.
That being said, so where were we all right? So
there is obviously myth and lore around this, and uh,
(27:09):
the name Mayban itself comes from Maybin app Madron, maybin
app Madron, which is a Welsh god from the I'm
gonna fuck this word up, Mabino going mobile, gwin, mabino gwin,
there we go, which means son of the mother. He
(27:30):
was stolen away as a child in later freed. This
little kid that was the son of the mother. Uh,
he was stolen as a child in later freed, symbolizing rebirth,
loss and return, descent and liberation, a story that mirrors
Persephone's cycle again We're gonna be touching on her again
a little bit. And because of this, modern Pagans tied
(27:50):
this myth to the autumn equinox, when light in quotes
descends and will return again.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Yes, the cycle, it's also Michael, that's it.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
The equinox is seen as the second harvest festival, the
first being Lamas or Las Lassa. I always fucked that
word up lasaded lassad. Yeah, there we go. Just I
have to say that word in order to remember. So
it would be the second harvest festival after that in August,
(28:22):
and the third being Sawhen in October. Symbolically, this is
when God dies and begins his descent into the underworld
while the goddess aka the Crone prepares for the coming winter.
Many cultures honor this time. The Greeks linked it to
persephones descent into hades, and ancient ancient Celts marked it
(28:43):
with feasting and thanksgiving. So that's a little bit of
the lore for you. As for rituals and practices, this
is just going to be kind of like an overview.
So you have your feasting and gratitude, so you know
it's right around that time, so you'd want to share
a meal from the harvest, you know, whether it is
by sharing apples, squash, grain, cider, or wine and giving
(29:08):
thanks for abundance. Then you would have balance rituals. So
since the day and night are equal, many practice meditation
or ceremonies focused on inner balance.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
HM.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Pretty important.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Love it.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
As for offerings, so some people would leave offerings of
wine or corn at your altars or in nature to
honor the gods, the spirits or the ancestors. So you know,
maybe you'd build like a little natural altar out in
the woods or something like that, bring out a little
glass of wine or a near a corn or something
(29:43):
like that, right and leave it as an offering.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
And there you go. And another thing too that you
can look at that as as far as you know,
leaving some food out because pretty much you're not gonna
be able to eat that food. And so it's almost
like you're saying, there's gonna be enough this harvest that
you know that we're getting. It's it's gonna be enough
to cover us. And so I'm having that that belief,
you know that everything's gonna be all right. Same with
(30:06):
the sharing of the food, you know, sharing food from
your harvest. It's it's saying there's gonna be enough, so
I have enough to share.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Yeah, And that's that's really it. I mean, it is
all around the idea. And I think that these were
all just kind of like links that people were using
in their own minds if you really think about it,
Like so if you were to do everything you needed
to do, like almost like I have like a like
(30:33):
a pregame ritual every time I get behind the mic
before I get ready to start a show. And I
didn't even know it was a ritual for the longest time.
But I have to do it or else my show.
Like I'm I'm gonna be stumbling all over my words
even more than I already do. I'm gonna get lost.
I can't. I'm not gonna be able to remember certain
words and all this stuff. Right, I'm not gonna be
firing on all cylinders unless I do my three step ritual,
(30:55):
which is it's not that crazy, you know. It's just
like I gotta make my coffee. I gotta, you know,
have my little shot of methylene blue, and I gotta
have my mushroom gummies. And it's just like that's what
I do. That's my little ritual. And I know that
if I do that, click in my mind, I'm gonna
be on.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
But if you were performing magic unintentionally, you know what
I mean, you didn't even know you were doing it.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
But I don't do it now if the show goes
to shit, I know why, right, you know what I'm saying.
And I believe that that's what the idea of doing
all these rituals and offerings were back then, Hey, we
did the work, we said the prayers, we meditated on it,
you know, we built our altar, we called upon certain
gods or deities or whatever, and we did everything that
(31:40):
we had to do. So now it's just left to
leave it up, like leave it up to the gods.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
And I wonder if too, you know, back then, if
there was ever a time where they were going into
winter and they really weren't sure, like like they weren't
completely sure that that was gonna come back, you know,
like maybe this is the last winter, you know, and
then it just goes cold forever after this.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
I'm sure that that was always a fear you imagine, right,
like if you didn't know, oh yeah yeah. I mean
there's probably you know, people out there that were just
like spreading bad rumors like evil witches and stuff like that.
They're like, yeah, it's probably your last.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
One, right, Like I saw something recently as far as
like the first people that went to sleep, It's like
they weren't sure if they were gonna like what happens
when you go to sleep? Are you gonna wake up?
Or like what's gonna happen? You know, like you have
to have that faith that hopefully I'll wake up after this. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
And you know what's even crazier too, is that whenever
you fall asleep, you know, you got to pretend to
fall asleep. So if you never fall asleep before, how
do you even know to pretend to do it?
Speaker 4 (32:40):
Yeah? Exactly, So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
And that's that's really like the crazy thing about like
existence in general. Like was there a man or a
woman that first started like fully grown or was it
a little bit you know what I mean? Like how
did it all start?
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Like?
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Who am I? Where did they come from?
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Like we can hear myths all day, but I don't
think we're ever gonna actually really know, like you know
what came first, the chicken or the egg?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
No, I don't think so, right.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Oh, So, as we were saying, okay, so because of this,
modern Pagans tied this myth to the autumn equinox. Okay,
when the light descends and we'll return again the equinox.
I'm sorry I already said that. Symbolically, this is when
the god dies again in his descent into the underworld.
(33:28):
Many cultures honor this time. The Greeks linked linked it
to persephones descent into hades, and ancient celts marked it
with feasting and thanksgiving. I had already said that I
am true. We're gonna have to learn about this, Yeah,
and we will. Yeah, it's gonna get awesome. So yeah,
you have your offerings, then you would if you're decorating
(33:49):
your altar, you would want to use autumn colors such
as red, orange, brown, or gold, which is what would
be available in nature. If you're setting up your altern
nature anyway, you might want to build a cornucopia or
have some apples and pumpkins and acorns and pine cones
and leaves, just nature in the fall time. As for divination,
(34:10):
you can use tarot ruins or scrying to gain insight
as the veil between the season's thins. Oh so yeah,
all of these different wheels or all of these different
little sections on the wheel, it's all like little kind
of lifting of the veils.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Oh yeah, I wonder if that was why I saw
some weird stuff in the sky last night, dude, Like
it felt like there was something going on, Like the
veil was definitely thinned.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
You know, hey, dude, I think it's just always thin now,
you know it? Then Also you would want to have,
like you know, charity and sharing, so giving away food, clothing,
or resources as an act of spiritual harvest. The symbolism
would be balance, gratitude, sacrifice, death and rebirth, and preparation
(34:57):
for darkness. So the deities that are most commonly associated
with Mabon would be maybeon as this story we heard earlier, Persephone, Demeter, Dionysis,
and Nana and Morgan le Fay. I've heard that before.
I never looked into that yet. The animals associated with
it would be the stag, an owl, a blackbird or
(35:19):
a wolf. And the stones that you might want to
do might want to use, like during your meditation or
ritual as far as your crystals and stuff goes, would
be amber, cittern, sapphire, and Lapis lazuli. As for the
herbs and the plants, apples, grapes, ivy, oak, sage, marigold,
(35:40):
and sunflower. So if you're trying to celebrate Mabon, how
would you do it? So most people would maybe you
would host a pot luck or an autumn feast. You
would go on a nature walk and collect seasonal items.
You might journal about what you're grateful for and what
you're ready to release. You might want to create a
ritual of balance, so lighting a candle for both light
(36:02):
and dark, maybe a white candle and a black candle.
I got an orange candle tonight, so you know, hey dude, seasonal.
You know, yeah, you got that pumpkin spice candle over there, baby, right.
And also maybe you would want to make some wine,
some cider or apple based dishes as offerings. So there's
(36:25):
many different ways that you can go about doing this, right,
as we said, I mean, it literally encompasses so many
different forms of spiritualities and religion and everything else. It's
almost like becoming eclectic putting it all together, and you're
still gonna get something out of it.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Oh absolutely. And you know, like they were saying, like
you can make like apple pie and things like this,
Like you can make really any any dish you want
that has to do with like your harvest or things
of that season and whip something together and just do
that every year and make like a tradition out of that,
you know.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
As the witch that we had last week, she was
just like, look, whatever you got in your kitchen, like
it doesn't That's exactly what a witch would have done, anyway, yep, exactly.
And then I asked her what about Tony Sassre's you know,
hopefully she didn't take offense to that one. I don't
think she did. She was a cool girl or cool woman,
(37:20):
so all right. And then you would want to, oh,
this is an interesting one, perform a harvest meditation, so
you would visualize gathering what you've reaped spiritually this year. Okay,
that's a good idea, just to be thankful.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
As for other deities that may also be associated with
the myth, before we get into your girl persephone, another
one would be Frere, which is a Norse deity. So
Frere is a linked to the autumn equinox, also known
as the god of fertility, harvest, prosperity, and peace. She's
the roller of sunshine, rain, and agricultural abundance, and offerings
(38:01):
to Frere at the harvest equinox ensured enough food through
the coming winter, so perfectly aligns right in some of
the sagas, a boor sacrifice was tied to harvest rituals,
symbolizing the sacred bore, also known as I'm sure I'm
gonna butcher this one. Gulan bursty nailed it.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
There we go.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Maybe I nailed it.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
We don't know any better. So now this is where
it's it's gonna start getting a little juicy. So your
girl Persephone, So she's also known as the Queen of
the underworld and goddess of spring. She goes down to Hades, right,
and goes down basically hell, and she's stuck there for
a little while. We're gonna get to the whole story.
(38:48):
So Persephone also called core or corey ko r E.
I'm not sure how you'd say that, but it just
means maiden is the daughter of Zeus. She's the of Zeus,
who is the king of the gods, and Demeter, who
is the goddess of the harvest and fertility, so that
would be Persephone's parents. She embodies duality via life and death,
(39:14):
light and darkness, and innocence and queenly power. So in
Greek myth she's one of the most important figures for
explaining the cycles of nature. So now we get to
the abduction myth that's tied to Persephone. So one day,
while picking flowers in a meadow, Persephone is suddenly swallowed
up by the earth Hades the god of the underworld,
(39:36):
emerges in his chariot and abducts her to be his queen. Demeter,
stricken with grief, that's the mother, searches the earth for
her daughter, neglecting her duties. As a result, the crops wither,
famine spreads, and the world freezes into a barren state.
So because Demeter went, you know, kind of took a
(39:57):
couple of days off. You know, remember Demeter, the goddess,
the goddess of harvest and fertility. She took days off
to go and try and find uh, Persephone, And and
that caused all everybody's crops and every everything to go.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
To shit, right right, right right, Okay, that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Eventually, Helios, also known as the Sun God, reveals what happened.
Zeus had secretly allowed Hades to take Persephone. So Zeus
the Dad is like, yeah, Haities, he can take her
for a little while.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Right. Demeter demands her return, but Persephone has already eaten
pomegranate seeds in the underworld, an act that binds her
to Hades. A compromise is eventually struck, where Persephone spends
part of the year above with her mother during the
spring and summer and part of the year below with
(40:48):
hades during the fall and winter. Oh wow, So she's
the as above, so below is.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
What's going on here, right eh wow, that's cool.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
The as far as the symbol of the myth, So
there's the seasons and the agriculture. So Persephone's descent represents
the death of vegetation in the autumn and winter, and
her return symbolizes rebirth in the spring.
Speaker 7 (41:13):
Right.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
The she's also so she's the goddess of both renewal
and the afterlife. The archetype of transformation. She begins as
core or Corey, the innocent maiden and becomes Persephone. So
there's a little transition almost like with Secmet and Hathorn, right, yeah, yeah,
(41:37):
so she starts out all innocent. Actually, the segment in
Hathor one is kind of like the reverse because segment
was a little battye and Hathor was like the goody
you know.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
So yeah, she begins as Corey, an innocent maiden, and
becomes Persephone, the powerful queen of the dead, symbolizing the
right of passage in womanhood. That's pretty cool there. So
she balances the opposites, so light and dark joy and sorrow,
life and death. Persephone unites them all. So there are
(42:14):
mystical interpretations, and we're going to get a lot deeper,
but we're just kind of kind of glance over it
here for a second. Okay, there's the Orphic mysteries, which
remember we talked about the orphic egg, right, So the
Orphic mysteries. Persephone plays a central role in the Orphic tradition,
where her union with Hades is seen not as a
tragedy but as an initiation into hidden wisdom. It's a necessity, yes,
(42:42):
And then of course you have the Eleusinian Mysteries, one
of the most sacred rites in ancient Greece celebrated the
story of Demeter and Persephone, promising initiates secret knowledge about
the immortality of the soul and the afterlife. Dude, one
hundred percent, we would have I I like to imagine
(43:02):
that we would have been a part of the ancient
mystery schools. Oh absolutely, due, Like how sick would that
have been. We probably wouldn't have fit in anywhere else
back then too, you know. And whenever I say we,
I mean all of the one. It's not just do
But yeah, that's just where we belong.
Speaker 4 (43:19):
I love it. I love how there's correlations, you know,
even with with the other goddess like like Shiva. You know,
she's the the opposites, you know, the the creation and destruction,
you know, the the the higher end the lower you know. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
Yeah, actually there's a statue of Lord Shiva right outside
of the CERN headquarters.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
And then there was like a like a weird ritual
that just so happened over there, like a few years back,
and a bunch of people who was responi Well ritual,
you have like in order to even get into the
building of the main building of CERN, it's a campus,
so you have to already like they don't allow inside
(44:02):
or like outsiders.
Speaker 4 (44:03):
To even have access to like where this statue is.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
Right, Yeah, it's it's literally in the center you know,
of everything.
Speaker 4 (44:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
Right, So yeah, they had like a bunch of hoods
on and they don't I don't know if it was
a real sacrifice or if it was a play kind
of sacrifice, but yeah, it was a bunch of people
with hoods. And then there was this girl that like
got pulled up to the middle and they stabbed her
in the heart. Like I said, I don't know if
it was real or not, but they stabbed her in
(44:32):
the heart and then started dragging her body. It was
a weird one.
Speaker 4 (44:35):
Oh my god. Yeah, Wizard, what do you got to
say about this?
Speaker 8 (44:39):
They commented and said that it was just a fake,
mock ritual and that they were just kidding. But dude,
when they stabbed that chick, that is one of the
most blood curdling, fucked up things I've ever heard in
my life.
Speaker 4 (44:53):
Yeah, dude, So there's a video of this somewhere.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
Yeah yeah, Oh okay, me and Jacob actually watched it.
I want to say, like a month ago on the cult.
Pretty wild. Yeah, So, whether it is a mock thing, Look,
if it's a mock thing, I think it's cool personally,
but yeah, if it's an actual sacrifice it I'm trying.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
I'm trying to figure out, not to cut you off.
I'm like trying to figure out what the purpose was.
What were they trying to you know what, I mean,
what were they making that offering for? What were they
trying to get out of this thing?
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Well, I mean it was right outside of the Shiva statue, right,
so I don't know, maybe they were doing some kind
of sacrifice or offering to Shiva in.
Speaker 4 (45:31):
A way, right right, Well yeah obviously, but like what
for you know, like what are they what are they
trying to achieve here?
Speaker 1 (45:39):
Well, I mean CERN is known for the large Hadron collider,
right like where they're trying to just like send adams
at like the speed of light towards each other and
see what the fuck happens. Some people think that that
they're like trying to open up a black hole, and
some people argue that they already did and we're just
living out the last days.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
So there's that, Okay, okay, all right, yeah, because I
was kind of thinking, you know, like as far as
the hydron collider goes is, you know, I feel like
that they're trying to figure out like maybe the God particle,
or they're trying to figure out the creation or the
you know what I'm saying, like where we come from
and so maybe the creation and destruction, God, Goddess, whatever
(46:21):
you want to call Shiva. You know, they're doing a
ritual to maybe have a little more success at trying
to fucking get this thing to work.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
You know, I mean it's possible, it could it could
just be a bunch of Illuminati people you know, could
be theirs. But anyhow, let's get back to it. So, uh,
we talked about the the all right, So then we
got the mystical interpretations. We've talked about the orphic and
the illucinian. Finally, there is a psychological archetype in which
(46:53):
Carl Jung brings up which all right, I was so
happy he got a little shout out in this one.
So in that psychological kind of way, Persephone represents the
shadow journey, the part of the psyche that must descend
into darkness to awaken higher consciousness. Yeah, maybe otherwise known
as shadow work. Yep, there are symbols of Persephone. So
(47:18):
if you're if you're trying to you know, include her
in a ritual or something, you would maybe use a pomegranate.
A pomegranate represents fertility binding and life through death. Flowers
for innocence, and a lure because she was Corey before, right,
and a torch guiding the way through darkness, which is
(47:41):
often held by Demeter in her search. So her mom
holding the torch. That's one of the symbols that you
would use maybe on your altar or something. Right, Okay,
as far as the seasons, she literally is the turning
of the year, so that's pretty cool. Then you have
your stay lessons of Persephone, the descent as transformation. So
(48:04):
to grow spiritually, one must descend into the shadow, like
Persephone did into the underworld. There's a union of dualities,
so she embodies both maiden and queen, showing us that
true wholeness comes from integrating opposites. Makes sense. There's a
cycle of being, so her myth teaches the eternal rhythm
(48:27):
that nothing truly dies, it only transforms as nature does yep, yep.
Then there's the initiation, So like the initiates of the mysteries,
Persephone's abduction symbolizes the soul's journey through darkness toward enlightenment.
Speaker 5 (48:44):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Persephone is like a cosmic key of sorts. She unlocks
the deep mystery schools of the Greek, the esoteric truths
of initiation, and even young psychology of the soul. So
now we're going to get a little bit deeper into
these three myth stical like mystery school lessons or lenses rather. So,
(49:05):
first off, you have your orphic mysteries, So Persephone as
the initiator into hidden wisdom. So in the orphic mysteries
stemming from the teachings of the mythical poet Orpheus, centered
on the soul's divine origin and its imprisonment in the
material world. So in these teachings, Persephone is not a
(49:26):
Persephone is seen not just as a victim of abduction,
but as a divine gatekeeper of wisdom. Her marriage to
Hades represents the union of spirit and matter, light and darkness.
See what I'm saying, Like, why listen to the surface
level story. It's cool, you know, that's what you tell
to your kids at night, you know, But like, I
(49:48):
don't know anyway.
Speaker 4 (49:50):
The goods are a little deeper than that, dude, so
deep I love it.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
And so there's Orphic hymns often invoke Persephone as the
one who grant's gnosis or hidden knowledge to the initiates.
She has the power to She has power over reincarnation
and the soul's cycle of rebirth. So if you're trying
to do some kind of rebirth kind of ritual that
(50:15):
you know, you got like the Freemasons that that they
have their whole you know, death ritual where everybody gets
inside the cast or each person gets inside of the
casket and they do like this death ritual, and whenever
that person comes up out of the out of the casket,
they are awake. Now oh oh wow, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(50:36):
a little bit of a d MT kind of play.
Speaker 6 (50:38):
I think.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
So the or fix eating the pro the pomegranate was
not a curse. Or to the orphix, eating the pomegranate
was not a curse, but a sacrament, a binding that
allowed Persephone to embody both worlds and thus offer insight
into both life and death. I like it as for
initiates identify with Persephone meant learning to accept descent into
(51:03):
darkness as the necessary step before rebirth into divine consciousness.
So the esoteric lesson would be descent equals initiation.
Speaker 5 (51:13):
Mmm.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
I mean you've all, we've all experienced this, you know
what I mean, that that awakening, you know, that dark
knight of the soul or whatever you want to call it.
You know, I'm so happy something something just didn't line
up with what you thought, and so all of a sudden,
you just you have to go down deep, dude, and
just fucking refigure out everything. Almost.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. And so the soul must pass
through the underworld to awaken to higher wisdom, just as
Persephone became the became the queen of both realms. So
that's pretty badass. Then, of course you have your Elucinian
mysteries where Persephone, you have Persephone and the promise of immortality.
(51:55):
M So the the Elusinian Mysteries were annuals, secret initiations
held in Eleusis Elusius outside of Athens, honoring Demeter and Persephone.
These rights were so sacred that revealing them was punishable
by death. Whoa. So, from what historians have pieced together,
(52:16):
the central drama re enacted Persephone's abduction and return. Initiates
were symbolically taken through the darkness of death and then
shone a great light, representing rebirth and eternal light. Holy shit,
Oh my god, it gets even better. So the rituals
included kaikon, which is a sacred drink. Oh, that's where
(52:41):
you're gonna have like the uh, the mushroom kind of
ritual there. I don't know if it's mushroom, but what
was that stuff that was always at the bottom of
the drinks in the chalices? Oh shit, ergot, God, yeah, ergod,
So I belie believe that that's what the sacred drink
was it was the Kaikion. It was the sacred drink,
(53:04):
which would be ergot, which would cause you to trip.
Speaker 4 (53:07):
They're like, you're not spiritual, drink this, yeah.
Speaker 5 (53:11):
Walk with me.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
So you would drink that and then you would fast.
And some scholars believe that kaikon contained psychoactive ingredients that
induced altered states, allowing participants to experience persephones descent firsthand.
Oh shit, dude, dude, it's literally a it's a guided trip,
(53:34):
you know, like this was like shamanic shit going on
right here.
Speaker 4 (53:38):
I think I'm due, man, I think I'm due.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
It's common.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
It's common.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
Hey, I'm wait for me. I'm gonna be there. I'm
waiting like la or nine days. I'm waiting, dude. All right,
I'm just scared to do it alone. All right, Yeah,
me too.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
Actually, let's be real, hold my hand, all right, I will.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
So anyhow, at the climax of the mysteries, so after
you know, you drink the Kaikian and you go through
the altered state, and you know, you go through the
ritual of Persephone showing you her descent firsthand. So after that,
initiates were promised a vision of the afterlife and the
immortality of the soul. They came away transformed, no longer
(54:19):
fearing death.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
Hmmm, crazy, dude, old school.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Everybody got weird back in the day, just as.
Speaker 4 (54:28):
We do now. They've been getting weird, they stayed getting weird.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
So Persephone here. So whenever they saw Persephone, they saw
her as the savior goddess bridging mortal life and eternal existence.
She was both the mourner as Corey and the redeemer
as the Queen of Hades. Dude, all right, so the
(54:54):
esoteric lesson would be Persephone's myth is not just seasonal,
it's existential. Her journey teaches that death is not the end,
but the gateway to eternal transformation, according to the Eleucinium
Elucinian mysteries.
Speaker 4 (55:09):
That's pretty pretty incredible, dude.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
Uh, then finally we're gonna get to the psychological archetype
via Carl Young. Yes, so Persephonie and the Shadow Journey
and all of these rhyme, They all rhyme. It's all
the same shit. So Carl Jung and later Youngian analysts
viewed Persephone as a powerful archetype of the psyche itself,
as Corey she represents innocence, potential, and undeveloped feminine. Her
(55:38):
abduction by Hades is symbolic of being pulled into the
unconscious baby. So in the underworld she undergoes transformation. No
longer the passive maiden, she becomes Persephone, the queen of
the dead, ruling her inner shadow instead of being ruled
by it. M dude's go.
Speaker 4 (56:00):
You're thinking of that quote already?
Speaker 1 (56:01):
Man, it's coming, yeah, every every time. So okay.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
There.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
We were so young saw this as nes uh young
saw this as the necessary descent into the unconscious where
every person must take to achieve individuation. So without descending,
we remain in the shallow, uninitiated state.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
Mm hmmm. Yeah. And in that state you think you
know everything, not that you know everything, but I feel
like you you have you know at least what your
existence is, you know what I mean, like the things
you do know, you feel like you're correct about those
things you know, and then you have that moment where
you're like, holy shit, nothing, nothing is.
Speaker 1 (56:50):
What I thought, dude, nothing, Yeah, you're no longer an NPC,
that's what you feel like.
Speaker 4 (56:54):
No, And now I'm trying to figure this shit out. Dude,
you know.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Yeah, well, I mean struggling. It's only going to get deeper,
sou persephone. The persephone archetype also resonates with the cycle
of depression and renewal. So the dark knight of the
soul followed by the emergence of greater wholeness.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
Yeah, love it.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
So. For women, young in psychology often use persephone to
describe the right of passage from girlhood to womanhood, where
innocence is integrated with depth and wisdom. For men, she
represents the amina, the inner feminine that leads them through
shadow toward soul integration.
Speaker 4 (57:36):
That's cool.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
So to become whole, you must confront the underworld within.
Persephone reminds us that the shadow is not an enemy,
it's the womb of transformation. Ah, that's sick.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
Perfect.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
So just to wrap it all up, Orphic persephone teaches
that the descent is an initiation into secret wisdom. The
Ileusinian persephone he teaches that descent is a gateway to
immortality and rebirth, and young Ian persephone teaches that descent
is a psychological necessity for wholeness. I like all three
(58:12):
of them perfect. So now we're all right, is it?
That time already. Wow, okay, well it is time to
get ritualistic up in here.
Speaker 6 (58:24):
Do it.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Let's do it. My candle's lid already, man, I'm ready,
is it? Let's go?
Speaker 5 (58:28):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (58:29):
Do I have my lighter around here?
Speaker 1 (58:30):
Let me just let me light one of these bad boys?
All right, going, dude, get it going. I only got
a white candle, but hey, it's good for everything.
Speaker 4 (58:37):
It's universal.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Did you see that? That was weird? So what you'll
need is a candle, preferably gold, red or black for
a balance of light and dark. Oh and all, so
you can do gold, red or black, or you can
do a balance of light and dark, which also work.
(58:58):
So maybe if you have two candles, a white and
a black or something along those lines. I would imagine
that even like a red and a yellow would be
good too, you know. So then you might want to
use a pomegranate or an apple. Either one works fine.
If you can get your hands on a pomegranate, it
would work better for the ritual. I would think that's
what she's most commonly associated with. She was, I mean
(59:20):
literally why she had to be stuck in the underworld
was because she ate pomegranate seeds which attached her there. Yeah,
but you can look. I mean, the mind is a
is a powerful thing. So if if an apple works
for you, it works for you, then you would need
a bowl or a cup of water to represent the
(59:41):
underworld's depth. That is cool. And then of course seasonal
items like fallen leaves, acorns, grapes, corn, or whatever you
have on hand. And optional would be to have a
journal to write in for reflection. Okay, okay, all right,
So if you have all of those, and if you
(01:00:02):
don't have them, pause the episode, take a little trip
to the Dollar Tree or something you know, or to well,
you can't get a pomegranate int the dollar Tree, got
a wal Mart or whatever, and get you a little
pomegranate or an apple or something along those lines. It
would be fun, especially since this is coming out on
the day of maybeon so you know, if this this
(01:00:22):
could be everybody's first like real equinox ritual.
Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
So firstly, firstly, you would want to set the space.
You'd want to find a quiet place, preferably with natural light.
So sunset would be perfect since it mirrors balance tipping
into night. Okay, makes sense. So maybe around eight o'clock
seven thirty somewhere in there, you would place your items
(01:00:49):
in front of you, like a small altar, so it
didn't even have to be in an alter. Maybe just
a window sill is what I used just to I
use my kitchen window sill because I have a tiny
little apartment. And you got what you got, you know.
Then you would have your balance invocation. So you would
light the candle and you would say this. Once you
light the candle, you got everything out in front of you.
(01:01:10):
You say this, on this day of balance, I honor
the light and the dark, the harvest and the shadow,
as day and night stand equal, So too may my
spirit find harmony. Then it gets into Persephone's descent. So
you're trying to carry out the whole ritual of her
story essentially in order to like come in contact at
(01:01:32):
least like trying to come in contact with the spirit
of Persephone. So then you would hold the pomegranate or
the apple and you would cut it. You would cut
it open, and you would look at the seeds inside,
and you would say this, like Persephone, I taste the
seed of descent. I honor the darkness as as the teacher,
(01:01:53):
the shadow as guide. I am not afraid of transformation.
Then you would eat a seed. You would eat a
seed or a piece of it mindfully, like you know,
put it in your mouth, and you know, you're not
just eating it like you would eat anything else. It's
more of a ritualistic thing. So you would eat a
piece or a seed and imagining yourself gaining hidden wisdom
(01:02:17):
from the underworld.
Speaker 4 (01:02:20):
You learn so much more there. Man, I'm telling you,
you know, in failure and in you know, going into
that that darker part of yourself, and and and you
know you shouldn't be a you shouldn't be afraid of it,
you know. And I think most of us probably are
afraid to go to those darker spaces. But I think
once you, once you align with it and figure out
what that is, man, everything kind of opens up.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
Oh yeah, yeah. I mean, look, you you're not gonna
get much done spiritually without going to the dark parts
of yourself, you know, because I know a lot of
people maybe you just want to forget about it, blow
that bad boy out. A lot of people you just
want to you want to forget about it, or you
want to suffocate it, you know, and push it to
(01:03:03):
the deepest dark darkest darkest depths of your mind and
stuff like that. And you can do that for a
little while. You know, we don't always got time to
do shadow work. Sometimes we got to work, you know
what I mean. But you do want to get to
the root of all that, because by shining light on
that darkness, you're it's that darkness is holding you back
(01:03:24):
from a lot of things. You know, it's holding you
back from realizing your potential. It's holding you back from
you know, whatever you feel like is holding you back.
It probably has to do with all that shadow work
that you're just fucking setting off to the side.
Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Almost definitely.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Yeah, so so yeah, So you would eat a little
piece of it, and then you would so offering to
the cycle. So you would place a few seeds or
a piece of the fruit into a bowl of water.
So and then once you do that, you would say this,
I release what no longer serves me to the deep
places that it may transform and rise anew in spring.
(01:04:06):
Then you would hold your hands over your heart and
give thanks for what you've harvested this year, both physical
and spiritual. So, if you're journaling, you would write what
am I ready to release into the dark. What wisdom
am I bringing with me into the next season. Then
you would want to close the ritual by snuffing out
the candle. And as you're snuffing out the candle, you
would say, the light returns even after the longest night.
(01:04:30):
So it has been, so it shall be. Then you
would pour the water and the seeds back into the
earth as an offering or in a like a potted
a plant pot if you can't go outside. So pretty cool, man,
I mean, it's these are very simple. It's just about
being mindful, you know. Like these aren't like some crazy
Ikea instructions on how to build a dresser. You know
(01:04:54):
that never works out. You know, it's something that you know,
you carry out and you do all this step and
once you did it, forget about it. Don't even think
about it. You got like, don't don't purposely not try
to think about it. But like, you know, just know
that your continuous thinking about it after you've already done
the ritual is not helping it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:15):
Right mm hmm, yeah, because you've already put that energy forth,
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
So yeah, literally, and that's what The Magigian by Philip
Cooper said, you know, once you do the ritual, put
it out of your mind and just know that it's
it's on its way because you did everything that you
had to, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:05:31):
Yep, that's it, man, that's it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
So why this ritual would work for Maybe and Persephone.
So the candle would represent balance the balance of light
and dark. The fruit and the seeds would be representative
of Persephone's pomegranate. The water bowl is representative of the underworld.
The offering is represented by gratitude and release. And if
(01:05:55):
you do this on the equinox itself, it aligns perfectly
with the cost timing, the exact way the ancients would
have done it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:03):
Mm hmm. Yeah, I think these things actually do work.
We my wife and I did one for the blood moon,
and we did something about releasing, you know, like basically
just trying to let go of any attachments or anything
like that. And so we just wrote and jotted down
some things on a piece of paper and I had
her fold it three times away from her and we
(01:06:25):
just set it out in the moonlight, you know, like
these are things that we are no longer going to
be attached to. And I shit, you not do like
the next two three days, like I felt that there
was something happening, you know, and I can't quite put
words to it, but I don't know. It was almost
just like this certain sense of confidence or or just knowing,
(01:06:46):
you know, that those things aren't affecting me anymore at
the subconscious level. And uh, and so I think these
things work. Man, You're you're you're basically training your mind
or or programming your own mind, you know, because we're
all being programmed anyways in some sort of way. And
so if you can just reprogram your own mind to
work the way that you want it to rather than
(01:07:08):
the way that others wanted to, that's it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
That's all you're doing, perfectly, said yes, And and look,
you don't have like and I know what some people
are gonna say, I don't believe in this stuff. Look,
it's not about you believing in it. It's about you
being able to convince your mind of it, to carry
out the ritual, to be able to manifest whatever it
is you're trying to manifest. It's all mind games. That's really.
Speaker 6 (01:07:30):
Like.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
If you're if you're you know, maybe you're an atheist
or you're agnostic or something like it like that. Look
at it like that, like, look at it as these
are things that my mind is accepting to be true,
and for some reason or another, they work, you know,
like there's just it's it's it's pretty crazy like that,
And just look at it, you know, like understand that
(01:07:51):
you are not your mind, Like we talk about that
all the time. You're not your mind. You're not even
the body. You're not your body. You're not even your mind, right,
And so if you're not your mind, what are you?
You're just the observer of your body, and you're the
observer of your mind. So look at it like that.
You don't need to believe in these deities.
Speaker 6 (01:08:08):
You can.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
I mean, I'm sure it probably works a little bit better.
But you know, if you just have to convince your
mind that the steps that you're taking are going to
have results, and it's wind.
Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
I mean, at the end of the day, dude, your
your mind is the universe doing what it's doing, you know,
like you are not separate from the entire universe, and
so you just got to convince that thing to show
you what it is you want to see. Like today,
as soon as I got to work, it seemed like
things were just dragging dude. Like I just felt like
time was moving so slow, and I just wanted to
(01:08:44):
get I just didn't want to be there today, you know,
And I felt like the first twenty minutes of the
day was like an hour, and so I almost kept
like affirming that, you know, like just in conversation with
people passing by, like, oh, yeah, today's a slow day.
You know, I'm today, it's a long day. I just
kept like repeating it, and so it was almost like
(01:09:04):
I was forcing that to perpetuate, you know what I mean,
just to continue being a long ass day. And so
if I would have said, oh, you know, cause I
think I've done this before, where at lunch lunchtime, you know,
I would go out go outside and say, you know,
the next four hours or whatever are gonna go by
quicker than I ever could have imagined, you know, and
I would be present for the things that were overall positive,
(01:09:25):
and the things that were negative will just kind of
roll off. And I kept saying that to myself, and
then like the next four hours would just fly by, dude,
And so I'm just saying just try it.
Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
Yeah, you know what, actually earlier today, because I'm I'm
in the middle of packing up everything in my apartment
and everything, and I had to go outside and I
had to you know, start packing things up out there
and getting rid of the things that I didn't want
to bring, and you know, packing up the rest.
Speaker 5 (01:09:48):
Right.
Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
But out there, I you know, I my apartment, it
has like a tiny little ten by ten yard, like
it is small. It's just just enough for my dog
and and you know, I got my grill and stuff
out there. But I had to lay down like this
fake grass because he kept on tracking mud in the
house and it was just every time it rained, it
(01:10:10):
would just become a swamp. So I was like, I'm
not dealing with this anymore. I'm just gonna lay some
of that like fake AstroTurf out there, right yep. So
I had to pull all that up, and you know,
I had to hammer it in. So I'm pulling it
all up. And I was just a bunch of work
and everything outside earlier. And as I was working and
doing all that, I was like, man, I see the
benefits of like pushing yourself physically in a sense. And
(01:10:34):
what I was thinking was is like, man, as I'm
like sweating and I'm working, and you know, my body's
starting to get a little sore and everything. I was thinking, like, man,
you know what's awesome is that, like I can take
myself outside of this and just observe it as I'm
doing it. And I started to do that, and because
I dude, I'm not gonna lie. I mean, I've always
been of the mentality I work smarter, not harder, you
(01:10:56):
know what I mean. Like I've always That's why I
a podcast for a living. I'm not an outside worker.
I can't do that. I could do it, I don't
want to. And so yeah, but looking at it from
that angle, it was it was pretty cool just to
kind of become hyper aware in that moment and to
allow yourself to escape the physicality of whatever you're doing.
(01:11:20):
And I feel like that's probably what people did for forever, you.
Speaker 4 (01:11:24):
Know, absolutely, I mean it's what people are doing. Accidentally.
We're already doing that.
Speaker 5 (01:11:29):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
You're you're visualizing your day being shitty all day, you know,
because you have to go to work, and you're just affirming,
just like I was saying earlier, reaffirming to myself what
I'm experiencing. And like you said, you could pull yourself
out of that. Whether that's actually happening or not is
besides the point. If you can convince your mind that
you know today, you know, I'm going to observe everything
(01:11:50):
that I could learn from everything that I see today,
I'm going to be able to learn something from it
and just make it a game almost, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
Oh yeah, yeah. And that's and your mind is easily convincible,
you know, like once you know that you have, you
almost you hold sovereignty over your mind. Your mind in
that sense is you know, kind of like, for lack
of a better word, your bitch, you know what I mean, Like,
that's just the way you gotta look at that. That's
(01:12:18):
the way you can look at it. And so yeah,
that's I don't know, just wanted to share that from earlier.
But yeah, we we have one little part left of
this and then we'll get to the tarot and the
meditation and everything else. Right, So as we close tonight's
journey through the mysteries of Maban and Persephone, remember this
(01:12:39):
that the equinox is not just a date on the calendar.
It's it's a living doorway. Every one of us walk
through it, whether we call ourselves pagan, Christian, mystic, skeptic
or seeker. Balance belongs to everyone, The harvest belongs to everyone.
The descent and return, life and death and rebirth. These
are the rhythms of the universe. It's Persephone's story is
(01:13:01):
not just some ancient myth locked away in Greece. It's
your story too. The times when you've been pulled into
the shadows, the moments when you thought that you had
lost the light, and the rising that always comes when
you step back into your power. That is the gift
of Persephone, the promise that no descent is wasted and
no darkness is final. So tonight I invite you to
(01:13:23):
take part in the ritual that we shared. Light a candle,
open a pomegranate, speak your gratitude, and release what no
longer serves you. Taste the mystery yourself, and see how
it feels to join the turning of the wheel to
align your spirit with the balance of the cosmos. This
path is not just for pagans, witches, or so called sinners.
It's for every soul brave enough to look inward and
(01:13:45):
find wisdom in the dark. If you do this, you
might just discover, as Persephone did, that the underworld is
not a place of fear, but a throne of transformation.
So until next time, blessed, maybone maybeen or my bond,
however everybody says it, And may your harvest be plentiful,
(01:14:05):
your heart be grateful, and your descent into the shadow
be the very thing that brings you into the light.
Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
Love it. I feel better already, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
Yeah, that's beautiful.
Speaker 4 (01:14:14):
Good like it.
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
I like these kind of shows though, right, M Like
they're fun, you know, because the other ones we have
to put like crazy amount of thought into it and
like really goes super deep. I love the mythology like
version of this, And what it just reminds me of
is is that people have been trying to understand the
nature of this reality, in the nature of themselves for forever,
(01:14:37):
and some people have attached stories to them. Some people
went on to believe them as actual, you know, real things.
That's totally fine. But if you don't get to the actual,
like core of the story, the reason for the story itself,
you're not doing You're not doing a service to yourself.
You're not doing a service to the deity or the
ritual or the god or you know, any of that.
(01:14:59):
And and you know, otherwise you're just telling yourself bedtime
stories if you don't try and really look at its
deeper value. And that's all we try to do over here.
Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
Yeah, because all of that without you is meaningless or
it doesn't exist at all, you know what I mean.
You're the battery, You're the key. You're the thing that
gives that thing power, and you know where you can
get some kind of information from it, you know. And
so yeah, man, I love it, dude, I love all this.
Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Oh yeah, White Boy Wizards said, got me bricked up
with that last bit there. Yeah, that was fun. He
also said, has has Nora been around lately? Feel like
I ain't seen her in a minute. It's been a
few weeks.
Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
I haven't seen her in a bit. Actually, yeah, she's
doing all.
Speaker 1 (01:15:42):
Right, right right, said Kyle is three times as buzzed
as I am. I'm jealous.
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
Kyle at least two times.
Speaker 1 (01:15:54):
White Boy Wizard said, I ain't religious, but I'm definitely
a heathen.
Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
Let's go, baby, definitely definitely I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
Where it as a as a as a badge of honor, sir, Yes, yes,
but anyhow, Seano, what is that card?
Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
Sir? I actually you know I pulled one earlier, and
then I pulled another one, and then I recently just
pulled the We got three cards tonight. Yeah, we don't
normally do that, but you know, in honor of the bond,
you know what I'm saying, let's go. We got the
first card. We got the Strength card actually, oh solid card,
(01:16:34):
which is actually I mean, if I was to look
at this, just going off of what we were just
talking about, you know, she's, uh, it's a woman leaning
over to it looks like she's petting a lion. And
so for me, just my interpretation of it would be
like going into that that shadow or going into that
subconscious mind, that scary place, you know, and petting the lion. Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
Yeah, that's a great interpretation of that.
Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
And then garnering strength from that.
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
Oh dude, that's Persephone in the underworld hanging out with
Hades and not.
Speaker 4 (01:17:08):
Yeah, that was the first one, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
So Strength reminds us that it is not the size
of our muscles, but the willingness within our hearts that matters.
When we show courage we endure any obstacles we encounter.
That The Strength card shows a woman wearing a white
robe adorned with flowers, suggesting her purity of heart, demoned
a like Corey was started out pure right. Damn dude,
(01:17:33):
If this tells the story in in like a three
phase kind of thing, this sounds a lot like Corey.
Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
That'd be cool. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
The woman represents oh wait uh, suggesting her purity of heart.
Demonstrating her own strength. By gently closing the mouth of
a lion, the woman represents receptive feminine energy, but not weakness.
Without fear or hesitation, she courageously lays her hands on
a wild and ferocious beast. The lion's pliant and submissive
(01:18:01):
body language indicates that it does not feel threatened by
her touch. The infinity symbol above her head is a
reminder that the energy within us always manifests in our
outer circumstances. This woman is peaceful within, and that peacefulness
is reflected in her dealings with the world or in
the world. Approaching an obstacle with confidence and acting in
(01:18:22):
a calm way will yield positive results for all involved. Hmmmm,
solid love it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
The second card is another eight, but it's the eight
of wands.
Speaker 1 (01:18:33):
Get out of here, all right, I will not I
will stay in here. The eight of WANs here we go, okay,
I love it all right. So the Aid of Wands
incoming news sparks a series of events that change your trajectory.
You find yourself where you need to be and in
(01:18:53):
the company of the right people. Flow with the current.
The Aid of Wand's card brims with the energy of
hastiness and speed, along with the aces and the three
of swords. It is one of the only minor arcanic
cards that does not depict people. This puts an emphasis
on the action taking place. Here you see eight butting
wands flying through the air over a lovely pastoral landscape.
(01:19:17):
These wands carry messages and can come in the form
of letters, phone calls, emails, texts, or news heard from
the lips of a passing stranger. However these messages come,
they bring an element of excitement, speeding up events in
your life and disrupting your daily routine, often in an
overwhelmingly positive way.
Speaker 4 (01:19:36):
That's a great one, man, that's a good one to
get you.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
That's funny. It said that it'll come in any kind
of form, whether it's you know, call, text, whatever, right
and literally earlier today, So I love I mean, look,
my blue pill is football. Okay, and I always I
love playing fantasy football, and so I was listening to
this fantasy football podcast. But I had paused it because
(01:19:59):
I went to go walk away and then I came back.
But right before I hit play on it, I like
had like a like a big burp. Not to be disgusting,
but I had like a big burp. And as soon
as I hit play on it, he goes, oh, wow,
that was a good one. I was like, what what
are the odds? It's like, Gez, the universe is talking
(01:20:19):
to you, baby girl. Yeah that was pretty cool. But anyhow,
all right, so we got the uh strength and the
aid of ones. What's next? And then the third one
is the six of Pentacles. Oh it's been a while
since we got a pinnacle. We used to always get them. Yeah,
all right, So the six of Pentacles giving and receiving
(01:20:39):
opens the flow of prosperity in your life. Always give
what you would like to receive. You were met with
generosity and even and even exchange when you draw the
six of Pentacles. In this card, a wealthy man offers
coins to people who are kneeling before him. His body
position is above theirs, yet he holds a scale in
his hand as a reminder that equality is important, as
(01:21:01):
as is sharing what you have with those who have less.
This card is much about giving generously as it is
about receiving graciously. Altruistic and genuine acts of support are
the hallmarks of this card.
Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:21:14):
Just the imagery alone, you know, to me is very
symbolic as far as you know, because the the scale
that he's holding is it's showing that it's equal on
both sides. We're talking about the autumn equinox, and it
was also referring to balance, you know, having balance in
your life and.
Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
So oh yeah, it's a perfect balance of night and day.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
That's it man.
Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Well, and also as far as the generosity goes, it's
like that's what was going on with the whole maybe
uh festival a Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:21:43):
Yep, sharing your sharing your harvest and knowing that you
will receive as much as you give.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
Yeah, dude, I like it a lot. So we had
the the Aid of Wand's, the Courage card.
Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
And the six of and so we have the Strength card,
the eight of One's and the six of Menacles.
Speaker 1 (01:22:05):
Yeah Okay, I just said it out of order. So
the Strength card, let me get back to it. Again
real quick, the strength or.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
You Oh my bad? I thought you say courage. I
guess that's the same thing, though.
Speaker 1 (01:22:17):
Oh did I say courage?
Speaker 4 (01:22:18):
You did?
Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Oh my bad? So the strength card would be it's
an eight, so progress and decisive action. The I was
just trying to find out, like, what are all of
the anyway we already know? Okay, good?
Speaker 4 (01:22:36):
I think they lined up great.
Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
Yeah, dude, I love this kind of stuff. It's it's
just magical.
Speaker 4 (01:22:43):
It's magical.
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
Every time we do a show like that, everything is though,
really real. Ben said, perfect timing for me personally, great episode.
I like the three draw. That's what I do personally,
you know. I like to change it up, you know.
From time to time. Sometimes like as I'm shuffling, I'll
be like, all right, just give me one. I just
need one. I don't need a whole spread or anything
like that. And then sometimes it'll be like I'm feeling
(01:23:05):
too today, let me pull two. And then sometimes I'm like,
all right, give me the full manti. I wont three
of them, right, And for me, it's just staying out
of my own way, you know what I mean. Like,
sometimes I'm like I just want one card because sometimes
I'll sit there and just shuffle for a while. And
I don't want to force a card to come out,
or at least I don't want to think I forced
it to come out. And so three happened to come
out today. And everybody has their own ways of shuffling
(01:23:28):
them too, Like you don't have to wait until one
falls out or one pops out or anything like that
in order for it to be the right one, because
it's all about, you know, kind of like what you accept.
So I've seen people that will just sit there and
shuffle and shuffle and shuffle and shuffle, and whatever one
is on the top or whenever one is on the bottom,
is that card exactly?
Speaker 4 (01:23:48):
Yeah, And for me, I think, you know, the whole card,
the card popping out aspect of it, I don't know.
It's just cool and that's what I accept, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
Yeah, that's what we've been doing for a couple of
years now. So yeah, that's the way I was taught. Originally,
I was taught by because I didn't know anything about taro,
probably four or five years ago, I think, and there
was there was this girl that was like teaching me
about witchcraft and crystals and tarot, and all this stuff.
(01:24:16):
And so we went down to New Orleans and that's
where I got my first tarot. I thought it was
a tarot deck. I thought all decks were tarot. That's
what I That's how ignorant I was, But I got
it was actually an Oracle deck. It was the Norse deck.
That was my first ever deck. And and so when
we went down there, she was like, all right, you
got to shuffle them. You got to shuffle them three
(01:24:37):
times and then just shuffle them like this until one
pops out.
Speaker 5 (01:24:41):
Right.
Speaker 1 (01:24:41):
I was like, all right, that's the way then. But
you know, she also talked about like, well, you know,
you want to make sure you put a crystal over
it and charge it with your hands and charge it
with your thought and you know, and then blow some
smoke on there to cleanse it.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
And right, yeah, and see I don't even cleanse it
with the breath anymore, like in my mind, you know,
I'm already charging it just by holding him in my hands,
you know. And so that's how these things can be done.
Speaker 5 (01:25:04):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:25:04):
It's just whatever you accept and whatever is your thing,
you know, is right.
Speaker 1 (01:25:10):
Yeah, dude, So all right, well I guess it's uh
it's meditation time. And so if you guys want to
join in on that meditation, the only place to be
able to do that is at Patreon. We don't put
it out on the podcast platforms or on YouTube because
you know, you could be interrupted with commercials and nobody
wants that. It's like the most shocking thing ever, whenever
(01:25:32):
you're super deep into a meditation. And then if you
would like to try no, I don't want to try it.
I just want to I want to meditate. Yeah, so yeah,
we got that on. The meditation is only on Patreon. However,
if you would like to watch the show for free,
you can go over to YouTube YouTube dot com slash metamistics.
(01:25:53):
That link is also down on the show notes below.
And uh, a lot of people I see are preferring
to watch over there. That's awesome, We're hey, wherever you
want to watch is great for us. Honestly, even if
you don't want to watch over at Patreon, it would
be awesome if you went and subscribed and maybe liked
a couple of videos. It would help the algorithm out
a little bit. Yes, I just want to throw that
out there. And also, if you want to be able
(01:26:15):
to hop out another way, leave a leave us five
stars and reviews and everything. Whether you're listening to this
on the Cult of Conspiracy podcast or on the Metamistics platform,
that also helps out. So whether you're on Apple Podcasts
or Spotify or wherever you're listening to it, leave a
review helps out big time. And we actually see there's
a lot of you that are that have already done it,
(01:26:36):
and so we really appreciate it. And what's great about
that is, especially if you're listening on Apple, you can
like do like a new review. So just because you
left one, hey, you can renew that bad boy and
do a whole other one. So anyway, just want to
throw that out there. We appreciate all of the one
joining us in on this journey to perseven and Mabon
(01:27:00):
and the Autumn Equinox. But I think we're gonna wrap
it up here. Sean, any parting words for you, sir.
Speaker 4 (01:27:05):
Yeah, dude, it was very interesting and I love it.
It's one of my favorite things when I see that
the things that we're talking about correlate with other things
as far as the mind and you know, the the
cosmos and the different goddesses and the gods and the
it is all just the at least for me anyway.
The thing that I'm really coming to understand is that
it's just it is my mind, you know, that is
(01:27:26):
putting the energy into all of this. And so I
don't know, I think I think it makes it even
better looking at it that way me personally.
Speaker 1 (01:27:34):
Oh yeah, dude. You know what's funny is that I
was watching this video earlier and this guy was trying
to explain, like, look, we are all God, like I'm
telling you, and he goes, I understand that there. You know,
some people will say that and it's like, you know,
they're basically just trying to pump themselves up or whatever
and make it whatever. And he goes, no, I'm telling
you that that's how it is. And he goes, I
can already hear what did he say? I can already
(01:27:58):
hear the projections of me telling me that I'm full
of shit. That's what he calls everybody projection. He says,
every single person is just a projection of yourself.
Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
And I was like, well, yeah, it would have to
be the projection of yourself that hasn't figured it out yet, right, Yeah, Yeah,
that's cool.
Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
Exactly sonyhow we're gonna wrap this bad boy up and
get over to the meditation. And what we would like
to remind you is that if Persephone and Maybon came
here and they taught you anything, it's that you don't
know what you don't know. So I'll just get weird.
Speaker 4 (01:28:31):
Stay weird, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:28:41):
The one that are joining us on this meditation. This
is a persephone affirmation meditation Simple Witchery by simply Witchery
YouTube channel. It's eleven minutes and twenty four seconds. Not
super long, but you know you can already see the fruits,
you know, and so I'm sure it's going to be
(01:29:02):
a good one. So we're going to sit back, relax,
and try and connect with the goddess of the underworld, Persephone.
Let's get weird. We're going to start it here in
three two one let go.
Speaker 3 (01:29:21):
Welcome to the Perciphony affirmation meditation. For this meditation, you
may sit and meditate on these statements with me, repeating
each of them after me, either out loud or within yourself.
You may also choose to have this meditation playing in
the background while you work or sleep to give your
subconscious the opportunity to internalize their medicine. Whatever you choose,
(01:29:46):
be open to the energies that flow into you from
this space. Let's begin.
Speaker 6 (01:29:57):
I hold the.
Speaker 3 (01:29:57):
Power to create or to destroy. I am the forger
of my own path in life. Evil must be destroyed
(01:30:18):
at all costs. I contain multitudes within me. I am
beholden to no one. Innocence must be carefully nurtured and guarded.
(01:30:50):
I grow abundantly in all circumstances, joyful in quiet, healing rest.
My power is only limited by my belief. I recognize
(01:31:20):
the power of choice.
Speaker 5 (01:31:27):
I am a.
Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
Champion of justice. Gentleness must be tempered with unshakable boundaries.
I uncover all lies and deception. I am a fierce
(01:31:55):
protector of my peace. Life and death are held within
every soul. I learned the many lessons that the dead
(01:32:15):
have to teach. I am the victor in all conflicts.
Truth is consistent action, aligned with thoughtful words. I hold
(01:32:45):
flowers in my heart and iron in my spine. I
am as comfortable with the living as I am with
the dead. Life is only meaningful because it eventually ends.
(01:33:18):

(01:39:26):
I hold flowers in my heart and iron in my spine.
I am as comfortable with the living as I am
with the dead. Life is only meaningful because it eventually ends.
(01:40:00):
Thank you for joining me in this sacred space. May
your heart be open to receive deep peace, great love,
and many blessings. See you next time.
Speaker 1 (01:40:25):
Well, that was an interesting one.
Speaker 4 (01:40:27):
That was very comfortable there. Yeah, yeah, it was really nice.
I find it interesting to what she said as far
as the fact that life has meaning only because it
eventually ends. You know, it's like, I don't know, it's
a deep that's a deep cut. Yeah, just the other
night actually, so last night, it might have been last night. Yeah,
(01:40:50):
I was sitting there in my room and you know,
my cat comes out of the restroom area, and like
I just had this weird like sense of awareness of like, oh,
like this is my my life, you know what I'm saying.
Like there's no other like it, Like nobody. Sure there
might be, uh, you know, at the macro level similarities
(01:41:10):
to other people, but like this experience that I'm having,
no one else is having.
Speaker 5 (01:41:16):
No.
Speaker 4 (01:41:16):
I mean, I don't know. It's just a weird, a
weird thing to think, but.
Speaker 1 (01:41:20):
Yeah, nobody has your house. Nobody has your kids, or
your wife or your dogs or you know that or
my you know, like, yeah, this was just all the
different personalities that you're all around and everything.
Speaker 4 (01:41:34):
Yeah. Yeah, and like the even the little the little subtleties,
the little the little things if I see something and
I react a certain way or think about that thing
a certain way, it's like just every little detail of
what makes my life what it is. Nobody has that. Yeah,
I don't know, just a weird thought.
Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
Yeah it is. It's weird coming to that. And that's what, dude,
I'll tell you what. Like it hadn't really hit me
that I was moving just yet up until today and
for some reason, like packing boxes in the house didn't
really do it to me, but really like packing everything
that was outside, like because I have like one of
those little I guess it's kind of like a little
(01:42:13):
mini shed or something right outside my door, right and
just a little stowaway kind of place. And as I
was taking everything out of there, because I have stuff
in there that I haven't seen since I put in
there whenever I moved here from Louisiana, you know, so.
Speaker 4 (01:42:29):
It was like a lot of the stuff you didn't
need anyways, but not all of it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:33):
But yeah, yeah, but I almost felt like I was
leaving Louisiana and Texas by doing that, you know, right,
And yeah, it was. It was strange because you know,
you get comfortable in a place, like, you know what,
you build memories no matter where you're at, for how
long you're there, like if you got your family around
you or your you know, your animals or whatever around you.
(01:42:55):
It's like, you know, there's I don't know how many
shows we've done, you know, me being here and now
it's just going to be so different, you know, but
in a good way. Like I'm not worried about it.
I'm not like anchored to this apartment by any means.
I'm sure as hell don't want to be spending the
money that I do blowing it on literally burning it
on rent. So I'm good to escape that. But you know,
(01:43:18):
I mean, it doesn't necessarily soften the blow of all
the memories that I'm kind of leaving here.
Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
Oh for sure, for sure. I mean, you you made
that place your home, dude. You know, you've been there
for a while now. I feel like we've probably done
most of our shows, probably most of them.
Speaker 1 (01:43:33):
Yeah, because I've been here for about a year and
a half and the show's only two years old.
Speaker 4 (01:43:36):
So yeah, yeah, so I can understand that it's almost
like you're leaving this part of your life, you know,
like this this chapter anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:43:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, because we started I was still
over at Christie's shop, yeah for a short while for
a little bit, yeah yeah yeah, and then went over
back to my place and then eventually moved here. But yeah, yeah,
I thought that that was pretty interesting, the way that
she was talking in that affirmative kind of meditation. I
(01:44:05):
actually appreciate those kind of things too, because it makes
you really think, especially whenever you're deep in meditation whenever
she's like, evil must be destroyed at all costs, I'm like,
how can I do that?
Speaker 6 (01:44:16):
You know?
Speaker 1 (01:44:16):
And I was thinking, like, well, evil is often associated
with the dark, right, and so if you're trying to
destroy the dark, the only way to destroy the dark
is by shedding light on it, so that would be
destroying the evil, you know. And because you're in a
meditative state, so of course you're framing everything internally, right,
(01:44:40):
and so everything that she was saying, this life is
only meaningful because it eventually ends. And she said something
about like the power of your belief is the only
thing the level of the power of your belief is
the only thing that is holding you back, or something
like that. Right, Yeah, I was like, dude, one hundred percent. Actually,
(01:45:00):
with like the rituals that we were talking about with
Persephone and the underworld and doing it with the bowl
of water and the pomegranate, and you know, it's like
all of it is that, and that's literally everything in
life is about that. And that's why they always say, like,
you know, you shouldn't be living in the past or
(01:45:20):
in the future if you stayed present. It's every single
movement and every single thought of your life becomes almost
like you know, like Lord Byron says, hey, people are
doing magic and they don't even know it, right, and
like and what did he say about I as far
(01:45:41):
as what was it neurolinguistic programming? He was like, you
can't not convince people of something, you know, like that
whole thing. And I was like, man, that really is true,
because if every word that comes out of your mouth,
I mean, if you think about it, every word that
comes out of your mouth, it started up here. It
started in the mind, and then it manifested via sound,
(01:46:04):
and then by that manifestation of sound, it had some influence.
That's the word that I was looking for, influence.
Speaker 4 (01:46:10):
Influence.
Speaker 1 (01:46:12):
So dude, this whole place is so magical. We just
have to bring our level of awareness to it.
Speaker 4 (01:46:18):
And dude, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:46:22):
I don't know, and I feel like that there's like there,
tell me if you ever, if this ever happens to you,
But like really really really strange coincidences and knock on wood,
it is not me. But I kept on seeing all
these weird like pregnant things all day today. Oh really,
(01:46:42):
there was like pregnancy ads on the podcast I was
listening to and pregnancy, like ads on you know, like
on my phone and you know, like the radio was
listening to there was like references to pregnancy. And then
earlier today as I was cleaning out like that outdoor
or that yeah, that outdoor kind of closet shed area. Yeah,
(01:47:03):
like I threw away the the the old baby car
seat that I had, and I was like, I mean,
there's a lot of baby things going on today. What's
somebody about it get pregnant or what? And I just
like try, I try and pick up on like those
little softballs. I feel like that I'm being thrown Yeah,
I love that softballs. Yeah, it feels like that's probably
what it is going on. You know, it's little things
(01:47:25):
that it's just trying to show you, like because you're
if you think about it, you're already it's almost like
you see the things that you're thinking about or even
on a subconscious level, and so when you are getting
the softballs thrown at you, it's because you're seeing the
things that's underlying within your mind or within your experience
that you're not consciously aware of, that you're not consciously
(01:47:46):
thinking about. But but there it is, Oh, there it
is again.
Speaker 4 (01:47:49):
Okay, so what is that, you know, and then it
just gives you that time to like, maybe I should
look at that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:47:55):
I mean, if you think about it, it's it's just
an archetype, if you like. It's the mind expressing itself
in a way. So it doesn't necessarily mean that somebody's
gonna get pregnant. I don't want to, you know, And honestly,
what could that be, right, I'm learning not to even
look at that stuff as literal, like just symbolically, does
that mean that, like, all right, is somebody about to
birth a new thought or you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:48:17):
Like life as far as like you moving and your
life is going to be a little bit different, you know,
So it's a new chapter, it's a you know what
I mean, or a rebirth, or I mean, you can
look at it so many different ways.
Speaker 1 (01:48:27):
That's an interesting way to put it. Yeah, And I just,
you know, I just want to throw that out there.
I didn't know if anybody else had ever had like strange,
like continuous synchronicities like that throughout the day and just
try and pick up on it and try and see
what it means.
Speaker 4 (01:48:41):
So I wanted to bring it to the table now definitely.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
Hell yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:48:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:48:46):
So the next Wonder Wizday, we're gonna have a guest
that just set this up today. Actually, she reached out
to me and uh she was like, hey, I miss y'all,
let me come back on the show. So Tifany Haney's
coming back Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (01:49:02):
We talked her in a good minute.
Speaker 1 (01:49:03):
It has it's been I look back, it was like
April last time we talked to her. So she's going
to be bringing the gene keys. But she had talked
about it like a year ago talking about bringing the
gene keys. It's another like it's like astrology in a sense. Okay,
so she would need like, you know, the same things
(01:49:24):
that you need for astrology, your your day of birth
and your day and location and all that, and so yeah,
that should be a fun one and she's gonna teach
us and a lot of people I see are a
lot more people are getting into that at least like
on social media and stuff, and they're like, dude, it
is so spot on. It's scary.
Speaker 4 (01:49:41):
