you should be watching in theaters andon streaming and then began to remain topic.
But first things first is the metalcornered song of the Week. The
song of the Week this week isfrom the band's Second Death. This is
their first single in three years.Check out Center Stars Stars, Contar Stars
(01:53):
Ships. I don't I said,I said I die right as Si cass
(02:16):
Size shot very side my life.I wond gone your side, I go
(02:54):
your side. One was on andI I was on our side. I
(03:23):
was on our side. I wason our side. I was on our
side. Lie okay again. Thatwas Second Death with her in single Center.
(04:46):
Make sure check that out. Morenew music, Kubla Khan just dropped
a new single called Theory of Mind. I don't know how this band gets
heavier, but they do. Thisband is like a fucking freight train and
this song is immensely heavy. Youthink it's heavy at the beginning, and
then the breakdown hits and you're like, what the fuck? Man? And
one of the coolest live bands. They've been on basically so many tours because
(05:11):
they're just such a great band tohave on tours that I've got to seen
them a lot since touring has comeback from the pandemic. But they're always
great to watch live. The singerhas the most wild mosh calls ever.
It talks about like throwing your ballsover your shoulders and ship's but yeah,
Googli con unstoppable for us, Ithink here. The band Horizon dropped a
new single called Wonderland. If you'reinto evanescence that kind of vibe, check
(05:34):
out this song. Luna Aura hasa new single called money Bag, which
sounds kind of like the yea yeayeahs if anyone is into that. Her
music has been featured on the ChillingAdventures of Sabrina and Riverdale, which is
also pretty dope. Another one down. They have a new song called Betray
a Friend. It's super sick andif anyone's listening to the show, they
(05:54):
know I'm a sucker for anything. Two thousands era sounding and this sounds very
much of Equal Vision in Victory Recordsalternative emo era. They sound a lot
like that. I think our sleeveSpittlefield bands like that is exactly what they
sound like. They just signed toOpen Your Ears Records and they're releasing a
deluxe edition of their album A BitterDescent that's dropping on May twenty six.
(06:16):
Check that out. And then theExcerts have a new single called Jealousy,
and they announced their new record, learn How to Live and Let Go that's
coming out on August eighteenth on Un f D. If you're into that
kind of new pop wave pop punk, kind of like Girlfriends in Young Blood,
this is another band you need toadd your list with that, and
(06:39):
then last with us certainly Not LeastCurrent's new record comes out on May fifth.
It's called The Death We Seek, comes out on Sharp Tone Records.
One of the best bands in thegenre. And I say that with utter
confidence. I've heard the full albumand when this episode is dropping you can
read my full written review of thealbum on Adobe dot com. Definitely checks.
(07:00):
But now we're gonna get into somenerd news. So Cinema Con is
happening right now, which if anyonedoesn't know what CinemaCon is, it's not
a big deal. It's basically thisbig convention where they invite theater owners and
all of the big studios have presentationsto hype up all the theater owners for
all the movies that are coming outfor the rest of the year. They'll
show full screenings of movies which we'llbe talking about in our next topic.
(07:21):
They'll show extended clips, new footage, they'll have the directors there. Sometimes
they'll have the actors there just tolike hype up the theater owners. And
now in the last few years they'veinvited media to come to help hype up
these movies. And Sony had theirbig presentation and they announced that Craven the
Hunter, which is starring Aaron TylerJohnson, another one of these Sony Marvel
(07:45):
movies that don't include Spider Man butare still happening, and they announces rated
R and they showed a trailer. It has not been released to the public
yet, but it's been described asinsanely brutal and violent. And it gave
me a slimmer of hope for thismovie, other than I love Aaron Taylor
Johnson. Aaron Tylor Johnson gave mea little bit of hope. At first,
I was bummed because I'm not thebiggest fan of the Sony Marble movies
(08:09):
besides Spider Verse. Spider Verse doesnot count because that's in the league of
its own. You don't I don'tcount those anything. Live action has been
pretty not that great or pretty badin my opinion, so when they announced
Aaron Taylor Johnson's gonna be playing Craven, and I'm like, I really like
this actor. This kind of bumsme out, but hearing this gives me
(08:31):
a little bit of confidence. Iwant to hold my judgment fully until I
see this trailer and see how jopeit is. But people seem pretty hyped
on it. Do you have anyfeelings towards this whatsoever? I mean,
I don't know. I feel Idon't know why they do the things they
do as far as picking these actorsand into these movies going forward, But
I definitely had it like a differentphase for grave Fair. I think he's
(08:52):
also a little too young, butI'm not gonna knock it. I'm not
gonna knock it until I see itbecause I do like Craving. Yeah,
yeah, I think he is oneof the most brutal villains Spider Man has
ever faced. Another thing that gaveme hope too is what they've been doing
with like Venom and Morbeus as theyturned in these antihero the gray line.
Kind of thing with this, fromwhat people have said from the reaction of
(09:13):
the trailer, is that this isthe story of how he becomes the infamous
villain and that also, I'm like, finally, just make these guys villains,
Yeah, make them bad, whocares? That's what I want to
see. I feel like there's justnot enough Spider Man movies thick like count
every villain to go in, sothey do need their own separate thing.
(09:35):
The big bart is there's no SpiderMan attached these. Yeah, we get
them at their own. There's noone really gonna stop them, like yeah,
which they might eventually. I justI don't know. Maybe maybe this
is the start of them turning shitaround. Who knows. I will hold
my judgment. I just know TomHolland isn't probably isn't gonna face any of
these people because they have that dealwith Marvel, and I don't think they
(09:56):
want to mess it up. AndI don't think the MCU wants anything to
do with these, So I don'tknow. We'll see. There was rumblings
that Andrew Garfield might come back andkind of be involved in this, but
it was kind of washed away. But who knows. Who knows. I'll
never count anything out. Anything canhappen. Moving on to the DC side,
also a CinemaCon, they showed theentire Flash movie, the whole thing.
(10:20):
This movie doesn't come out until likeJune sixteenth. That's a pretty long
time from now, so they haveto have such confidence in this movie to
not only show this movie but letpeople give their first reactions immediately after,
because a lot of the times theykind of when they do something this early,
they'll kind of make people wait. Now, people can't give full reviews
(10:41):
and fully elaborate why they feel thesethings, so it's kind of broad strokes
of will feel about the movie, because again, it doesn't come out for
like a month and a half,so there's no way they're gonna let full
reviews happen. Press screenings haven't evenhappened for this it was just shown here.
But the first reactions are ungodly positive. In the superhero genre, at
least recently, that's saying a lotbecause usually it's kind of these blanket statements
(11:07):
of it's fine, whatever, it'svery the same. But when you see
something getting getting this positive response,it makes me think this movie is going
to be pretty damn good. Therewas a few negative ones, but one
was this dude who like hates superheromovies, so it makes sense that he
didn't like either David Zaslow, who'sthe head of Warner Brothers Discovery. Now
(11:30):
he touted as one of the greatestsuperhero movies of all time, and now
a lot of people have been like, is it the greatest superhero all time?
No, but it's really fucking good, which that to me is fine
because to be in the pantheon ofgreatest superhero movies ever, Like, we
just passed the four year anniversary AvengersEndgame, which I could say one of
the best superhero moves ever. There'sthe Dark Knight, There's Logan, there's
(11:52):
into the Spider Verse. Even Spidermay know a home might be in that
conversation. To get to that levelis a lot. But I will take
a great movie. Most supero moviesare just like because they're just fun.
You know, they're ridiculous, they'relarger than life. But when they hit
that great stratosphere, that's what I'mlike, Fuck yeah. So what do
you think about these reactions? Doyou have any sort of anticipation for the
(12:13):
Flash whatsoever? Or did these changethat at all? I Mean, I
grew up with the show, solike you know what I'm saying, Like
show did great. I did seewhat was it Justice League. I saw
a different actor there and I wasjust like, Okay, cool whatever.
I will not knock this one either. Flash is one of the greatest,
and I'm excited to see what itis. For what it is, Yeah,
(12:37):
it's going to be interesting. Ifeel like it is going to be
similar to Spreader Man Know Way Homein ways, because for one, it
involves a multiverse. Two, itinvolves nostalgic figures from past of other things,
Michael Keaton Batman returning from the nineties, which is really cool. And
I feel like there might be somemore surprises in there in there too that
obviously people are holding close to thevest for good reason. I have no
(12:58):
idea what they are, but Ijust have a feeling there's gonna be some
cool surprises in there. I thinkit's going to be kind of like a
like a lot of people were sayingit's like a big love letter to DC,
and I think DC is a bigwin like that right now, especially
with Jim's Gunn coming in to takeover and this is kind of near the
end of that whole regime as heis shepherding in new material. So I
(13:20):
think a big, massive win forthem would be would be very good.
And I I mean I grew up. I think most anyone who probably listens
to this or has been on theshow, like kind of grew up with
Michael Keane's Batman. So seeing himreturn because I never got to see on
the big screen. I was bornin nineteen ninety so eighty nine ninety two,
I'm not going to see him thatI'm not there for Yeah, yeah,
(13:43):
yeah, So it's like I nevergot I love that when I was
a kid, but I never gotto see it in theater. So being
able to get to see him onthe big screen it is really cool for
me. And I love bat Batman'smy guy. He's like my favorite superhero
of all time. So seeing thatthere's multiple Batman including in this movie is
really cool seeing I'm excited to seewhat the swan song for ben Afflex Batman
(14:03):
might be in this. Yeah,I'm I'm stoked about it. This makes
me a little bit more stoked aboutit. I mean, the trailers look
really good, but I mean I'vealso seen a lot of really good trailers.
In the movie is not as goodas the trailers. That's that's usually
how it always is. Yeah,or even sometimes the trailer just gives you
the entire movie itself. Yes,Batman or Mortal Kombat. There you go,
(14:24):
whole movies in both. I likemoratl Kombat, but I was bummed
that they showed every cool kill inthe trailer. I was like, the
fuck man, yeah's losing his arms? Is like, you could have saved
that. When I first saw thetrailer, I was like, Oh,
that's brutal. I wonder what they'regoing to show in the movie, and
I'm like, oh, they showedevery cool theater yeah trailer. I am
excited for the second one though. My man, Johnny Cage is coming in,
(14:46):
so I'm excited to see who playshim. Yeah. Yeah, I'm
hoping it's just the tournament, right, It's got to be the tournament would
help with leading it. Yeah yeah, yeah, I'm stoked for that too.
I have high hopes, Like firstone was cool. I just wish
they gave away less. I getit, totally get it. Moving on
(15:07):
to a now watching section, Sowhat have you even been watching in theaters
or at home in the last likeweek or two. I am a latecomer
because I also I personally just donot like the hype of things fair I'm
one of those you know what,I'm gonna wait till seasons go on because
I also don't like to sit thereand finish the season and have to wait
a whole entire year for the nextone. So I'll let it just accumulated.
(15:30):
Yeah, absually, I just ended. You'na hate me for it?
Uh? The Walking Dead? Ohdamn, I finished it too. Yeah,
I let it. I let itsit. I was like, I
just cannot keep up with this ship. I can't. We just started.
Me and my partner just started theFear of the Walking Dead. Because we
just ended it. We're like,oh, we're sad now. I don't
want to stop from the beginning. The beginning is always boring. Yeah,
(15:54):
let's start something new that we cancan catch our attention. Movie theaters obviously,
super Mario, I saw him seenit. That was great. It
hit every point of the childhood andjust how they incorporate, like every other
game infused going in. I'm stoked. I'm so stoked to watch it.
I was I was like traveling playingshows like when that came out. So
(16:15):
I've missed a few movies in thattime span. And also my wife wants
to see that movie. So it'slike we've been haven't gotten to theories that
one yet? Yeah, so Iwas supposed to see that the same day
it played out, but I wasalso on the road as well, and
I felt like I wasn't keeping mypromise to my children. I have too,
so I was like, you knowwhat, when I get back,
I had like about a week ortwo a free time. We'll pick a
(16:38):
day, let's just go and doit. Hell yeah, I love it.
Would you think of The Walking Dead? The ending? It damn so
too too much mixed emotions. Ithought, when these guys were gonna return,
everyone's gonna reunite. Sadly enough,no Rick, no Michell, and
they're still looking for each other likeit was. It wasn't the big reunited
(17:00):
family that they were, Like, you were still losing some points, and
I kind of called out almost everydeath. Also like Rosita. I was
like, Rosia never really has nothingreally happening to her much. This was
This was it as sad as itwas. This was it. It was
sad, but at the same time, I totally feel what you mean,
(17:21):
because I mean the Walking Dead similarto Game of Thrones, where it's like
the out of nowhere deaths are. That's what the shows are. You know,
whoever, you never expect because Iended up. I got caught up
to where it was during the pandemicbecause I watched probably like the first four
or five seasons, then fell offlike most everyone did. Ye, So
then I just went back and likecaught up, and then I watched like
the because the last season was spreadout over like two or three years or
(17:42):
something, it was like fucking insane. I waited and just binge the rest
of that. But yeah, sowhat did it for me was when I
started seeing like people in cosplay costumes, like it was just like, Okay,
this is getting a little too weirdfor me, So I I lost
interest. I come home from workand I see my part in her here
watching it and she's like, ohno, you gotta you gotta sit down,
(18:03):
like this is getting really good. You're getting good, and I'm just
like, Okay. There's times wherelike if I'll choose a movie or a
show to watch, and there's timeswhere I'll just be like, you know
what you have the TV and Idon't. I don't even know what I
want to throw on, so I'llsit and just watch with her I'm just
like, Okay, you're right,I'm tapping her. I'm like, this
is getting really good. That's whyI tried to tell people and no one
believed me. I was like, dude, I was like, it gets
(18:26):
so good after like where everyone gotbored, and I'm like, I'm not
fucking around, like it's so good. Ye. So yeah, it's like
you a while after that because Iwas like, it's like Kings and tigers
and Jesus, like, what's goingon here? Man? But I will
agree with the ending because the endingwas really an ending. It's just,
hey, we have four spinoffs comingfrom out of this. I mean it
(18:51):
smoked for that. I'm definitely excitedfor that. For sure. I'm mad
stoked for that ricking machoone. Serious, honestly, No, I'm more intrigued
by the Maggie, and only becausethey have so much to tell with,
Like I love the fact that sheended it as far as like I respect
to you, I won't forgive youbecause I can't, but I need to
(19:11):
move on from this, so likewe have to work together. So that's
where I'm like, how are theygoing to do this when they still have
that like tension Because I thought weresure she was going to kill him in
the last season. No, No, he's shown I think enough mercy and
proved himself to a point. AndI don't me digging into Maggie's characters.
She's like she has a heart ofgold. She does, yeah, spends
(19:33):
her a lot, but yeah, she's been through so much and she just
knows like, yeah, I've donethings too, but like I could never
stoop so low. Bye, Iwouldn't. It wouldn't make myself feel better
if I killed you type of Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that was a
good journey for I, like thejourney of Nigan, Like seeing his backstory
and stuff. I was like, wow, like he wasn't always the bad
guy. Yeah, that like blewmy mind. I was like, that's
(19:55):
that was like one of my favoriteepisodes I think of The Walking Dead,
Like showing his backstory. It waslike when you make like an almost irredeemable
piece of shit, like relatable, that's good writing the villains, this person
whose story hasn't been told something likethat. Oh yeah, yeah, that's
what it is. Yeah, youonly see the bad guys like me.
It's like meeting somebody for the firsttime. You get the vibes, just
(20:15):
like I don't think I really fusedwith this guy or this or this girl.
And then you you end up gettingintrigued. If you sit down and
you had the conversation with them, you still want to vibe out and see
how they are. Then you startto realize why they are the way they
are. Yeah, So like atthat point, that's where you make your
decision. Do I stick with itbecause like he opened up or they opened
up to me, or do Ijust say this is in my route,
(20:37):
I gotta go. Yeah, that'show I feel about life, very well
put, very well put. It'slike you're always the It's like what the
Last of Us teaches us, Youcan always be the villain in someone else's
story. Yep. Always It's aboutI've been there plenty of times. I
think we all have. I THINKYthing is that I thrive on it.
(20:57):
Sometimes that's that's I think that's atoxic trade on myself. But it's like,
hey, you want to believe that, and I add on to it.
Yeah, I'm not going to sugarcoatedand I'm not going to convince you
otherwise. The truth will come outwhen it comes out, true, true,
very true, as far as I'mwatching for streaming, I got to
(21:18):
check out a new HBO series calledWhite House Plumbers early. It stars Woody
Harrelson and Justin Thurreau, which Iwas super stoked. I saw a trailer
for this. I feel like noone has even heard about this, which
bums me out a little bit,But after watching it, I'm not that
bummed about it. It's from thecreators of Succession and Veep, so that
(21:38):
had me stoked. I thought wewere going to get this like political satire
kind of show, kind of likeVice or The Big Short in that kind
of vibe. But what ends uphappening in this show is this kind of
just a full satire, like everythingis a joke. Everything is. It's
like basically almost like a dramatized mockumentary. It's like all about the people behind
(22:00):
the Watergate scandal of President Nixon,so it's like the two people who kind
of made it happen, and that'sWoody Harrelson and Justin's Rose character. I
am usually an instanley positive guy,but I am honest when I don't like
stuff, and this series just bummedme out. It's not even like bad,
I think I just expected something,so it might be all me for
expecting something different. It's just there'slike no stakes in the series. Like
obviously they go to jail at somepoint in the series. Even when they
(22:23):
go to jail, they seem tonot really care, like there's no consequences
for their actions at all. It'sjust so inconsequential and Goofy and everyone just
seems like a bumbling idiot in theshow. And it's just a bummer because
there's such great actors in it andeven like like behind the camera, like
(22:44):
people involved in it, and obviouslythis is what they wanted to do.
I just feel like they could havemade such like a thrilling still be comedic,
like if anyone has Walks succession orvice. It's like it's funny,
but it's also very serious too.It could it could have been a really
good dramedy. They could have doneso, but I have You can read
my full thoughts again over at Adobedot com if you want to check that
(23:07):
out and see you see it.I mean, if you like Goofy over
the top shit, then watch Itsdebut is on hbon May first. But
other than that, it's not ahigh recommend for me to be honest on
that one. But for theaters,I got to check out two horror movies
is last weekend. First little horrorcomedy I saw Renfield, starring Nicholas Holtz
and Nicholas Cage. It's a funass movie. It's it's it's pretty much
(23:30):
exactly what I expected to be fromthe trailers. It's completely over the top,
super bloody, super funny, andNicolas Cage is fucking fantastic as Dragula,
like so great. I just kindof wish it hit the Shaun of
the Dead Realm of Oh. Thatwas way more than I expected, But
it's fine. I just saw potentiallyof it being great and it was just
(23:53):
still fun. Like I still recommendgoing watching it. There's no I loved
watching it. It's just like witheverything being over the top, the drama
that's involved in it is also overthe top and kind of really cheesy,
and I know it's done purposely.I just think they could have leaned more
into the heart of it and broughtsome like real emotion to it. That's
(24:14):
my only qualm with it. Butit's fun. Nicholas hole is incredible,
even Aquafina. I mean, Iknow some people have their opinions on an
Aquafina, but I thought she wasfunny. She's kind of a bad ass
in it too, which was whichwas a pleasant surprise. But it's fun,
it's ridiculous. Just can't be fun. And on the other side,
I saw Evil Dead Rise, whichlooking forward to that one, it was
(24:37):
just a fucking gorefest. Is brutalas well as is all Evil Dead.
Yes, yes, I will sayit might be it's less blood than twenty
thirteen, but that movie's fucking wild. That movie's wild a little more because
I know the twenty thirteen remake itleans into the kind of drama characterizations of
(25:03):
Mia, you know, being likea drug addic and stuff. This leans
more into that with it's like allbased around a family and it's in an
apartment building in La. It's awesome. Like, I love it. I
didn't like it as much as twentythirteen, but like twenty thirteen is like
a pretty flawless horror movie to me, and this is just kind of a
little bit under it. It's Istill I think it. I thought it
was fucking great, and I knowthat they plan on doing a new Evil
(25:26):
Dead movie every few years now,and I'm like if they're like this fucking
bring it on because they're sick.If you like the last one, I
don't see how you don't like thisone, honestly, because evil then movies
are simple movies. You know,a group stumbles upon a book, the
book opens, someone gets, someonebecomes a dead eye, and then a
bunch of people fucking die. That'spretty much every movie. But it works.
(25:48):
It works, and it's great.I was excited to talk about this
because I know you're a big horrorguy, so I would say, be
excited. There's some haters out therewere like it sucks, and I'm like,
that's fine. If you didn't likeit. I thought it was really
good. There's a lot of positivereaction to it that kind of h has
been a big positive buzz about it, and it has a lot of This
one feels more in the film style, feels more ramy than the twenty thirteen
(26:11):
one, and Raymie did not directit or the other one, but he
was a producer on both. Butthis one feels you get the ramisms and
which was cool. That's all Igot for now watching. So moving on
to the main topic. This year, in general, it's crazy for movies
it's crazy for TV, it's crazierfor music. It's all over just massive
for pop culture in general. Summeris stacked with movies. So we're gonna
(26:33):
try and pick our top five alongwith a few honorable mentions. I almost
made it a top ten, butI was like, no, that's not
do ten. We'll just do five. But so honorable mentions, what do
you got? I mean, mylist might be different from yours, but
probably well for one, Hollywood Nightmares. What is that Hollywood Nightmares? It
seems to be like maybe not adocumentary, but kind of focusing around Robert
(26:57):
England's story. Oh, the startof Freddy Krueger. Like the movies everything
going forward. I think we gotthat before, but not as dark as
it is today. I think theygo more into like what really those guys
up for the movie, or likewhat kind of parts of it just did
it for them? In general, was just like cool, there's that um
(27:18):
Insidious. People hate this movie orthe franchise itself. I don't see,
like you're laughing, Uh, Insidiousis hit or missed? I really like
the first two third was, butI'm not gonna not see the foreform because
I've seen them all the mega dude, I can I cannot. Yeah no,
I mean you don't get enough moviesabout the mother. And I like
(27:42):
my shark movies. I grew upstuff like that. It's like, okay,
well whatever, let's see what youguys can do with this one.
I'm I'm sometimes it depends what itis, and you're giving me a giant
shark underwater. Who who knows ifit's even the lies of this day.
If you're if you're fearing water, then you have it in your mind,
(28:04):
then it's still there. Um.The booky Man looks pretty good. I
was in a fan of the Yeah, I think I was on like seven
or eighth grade at the time whenthe first batch came out. But I'm
excited to see what they do withthis one. I don't want to compare,
I don't want to judge it.I probably might just not even say
anything at all. Some movies arejust like did you like it? Did
(28:25):
you didn't like it? Let itgo? Just let it go. I
have no words. It's like that. I'm gonna hit one more in the
in the childhood teenage beating Ninja Turtles. That's my honorable mentions as well.
I watch everything as far I gotgoing on to the cartoons that the original
movies in the nineties and eighties.I've seen it all and I do not
(28:49):
knock it. And then I dothe same thing where like I teach my
children my era before I teach themthe new era. Yeah, we started
thinking this is what it is.Let me show you where it really started.
Yeah, the new movie looks awesome. Also in my hole mentions,
it looks really good. Yeah,it looks awesome. It's got like mad
Spider Verse vibes. So I'm stoked. I'm stoked movie. I can't wait.
(29:12):
That's so that that one also hitmy honorable mentions. Also for mine,
I have two like raunchy two thousandscomedies. They are coming out of
the summer. One's No Hard Feelings. It stars Jennifer Lawrence. I think
that premise is basically she gets hiredto date this younger dude to like teach
him how to like, um likebe around women. And it looks just
(29:33):
fucking hilarious. It just reminds meof like, you know, super Bad
and all of those movies of thatlike time period. So I'm stoked.
That's kind of getting a resurgence alittle bit. And then there's another movie
called joy Ride and that stars Iknow, Stephanie Shoe from Everything Everyone Wants
is in it. And then there'sthis other actress who's in this show that
my wife and I watch called GoodTrouble. She's like one of the main
(29:55):
characters. So I'm stoked for stokedfor that. It looks just like a
blast. It looks fun. LikeI said, not all of comedies come
to theaters anymore, so I'm stokedthat there's a little bit of research.
It's not like a total one,but I like to see that kind of
stuff with theaters. And then thelast one of my Alba mentions is Asteroid
City. It's Wes Anderson movie.Looks like the most Wes Anderson movie to
(30:15):
ever Wes Anderson, I think, but it has like a sci fi,
weird old vibe to it, whichI love sci fi, So I'm interested
to see what the movie is actuallyabout. For sure, it's always kind
of a he's a weird filmmaker,but he has a style and I love
that he has a style to it, and we'll see how it is.
We'll see how it is. Butlet's get into Let's get into top five.
(30:37):
So what do you have? Anumber five? The megas on there
for number five, number four,Insidious number three, the boogey Man number
two, Hollywood Nightmares number one TM, andt oh okay that was your full
list? All right, all R. Yeah, so it is a lot
different from mine. Okay, cool, awesome, Yeah, Okay. For
(30:57):
the Mega, I want to addsome thing I've never seen the first Meg.
I've only seen like the last twentyminutes. The last twenty minutes is
so just ridiculous. I think itgave you enough, given enough of the
movie where you're just like, I'mnot interested, Yes, a right,
sorry, Like I love kind oflike like run Field, like perfect example
(31:18):
for like over the top completely knowswhat it is. But sometimes when it's
like those action over the top stuff, it can be very hit or miss
with me. Like john Wick lovejohn Wick, Fast and Furious movies kind
of have a weird love for them. I realized they are completely fucking stupid,
but they're just fun. So itcan go either way with me.
It can be fun. I canrealize the absurdity and just pure dumbness of
(31:41):
it, and sometimes I'm just likenot for me, But I've seen that
because they used to play it.When I used to watch aw every Wednesday,
the meg would be one of themovies that would be before it if
you started so I would see likethe last like ten to fifteen minutes.
I've seen the last ten fifteen minuteslike twenty times, and I'm like,
this is so stupid. Things sodumb. And I've heard that they have
(32:04):
like basically in the second one, they have like Iron Man suits basically that
they fight them sharks with and stuff, and Jason Statham like kicks the shark
in the trailer, and I'm like, he kicks a giant shark. He
kicks it. Yeah, what it'slike. I am not a director either.
(32:28):
I mean even the Fast and Furiousmovie that comes out in about a
month, Like, I'm stoked towatch it, but it's not my top
five. I stopped that three. So everything after that, you you you
fell off when it got quote unquotegood. I guess I still like the
second one that was too Fast andFurious. Yeah, I love Tokyo Drift.
(32:50):
I have a song. Yeah,that's what I tapped out. I
was like, I can't keep Ican't keep doing this. It gets way
more ridiculous, like so over thetop. They're basically supers without being superheroes.
It's yeah, that's where I lostit. Our movie into like it
was strictly all about the cars andwhatever, yeah the case, and all
of a sudden, now you guysare jumping off hills and parashooting everywhere,
(33:12):
and like, what the hell's goingon? It's not even about the cars
anymore. No, it's absurd. It's completely absurd, but I love it
for some reason. I don't know. But my number five was Barbie the
which is crazy to say, butI feel like there's so much more to
the service than this movie because ofthe team behind it, Gregi Grewerg and
Noah Bomback. So I feel likeit's gonna be some like wild existentialist,
(33:37):
like kind of Truman Show kind ofthing that's hidden over this pink exterior that
people are like, why would wewant to see a Barbie movie. I
think it's gonna be very surprising topeople, at least I hope so.
So I'm still for that. Numberfour is the flash we talked about the
first reactions earlier. I'm just hypedfor that movie. I think I think
it's gonna be really good. Imean, it could not be, but
(33:57):
I have a good feeling this summeris going to be a summer of like
very good superhero movies, and youcould. Usually when I make these lists,
I made like I'm most into spaatelist. It's not like people dawned
me as the superhero guy or likethe comic book guy. But usually when
they see my like top ten listsof stuff, it's kind of they're sprinkled
in there, but they don't dominateit. But for this it's kind of
dominated the summer. But there's alot of good ones coming out this summer.
(34:21):
Number three is Oppenheimer the next ChristopherNolan movie, Big Christopher Nolan Guy,
and it's about the creation of theatomic bomb. I'm very interested to
see what he does with that becausehe's just one of my favorite directors and
the cast is just insane. Everyoneis in that movie, and I love
seeing a good uh Killian Murphy beingshowcased as the main actor. So they
(34:43):
showed an extended clip because we've onlyreally gotten a teaser in some images from
it. We haven't even gotten afull trailer for and it comes out in
a few months, and they showedlike a full scene, I think,
and people are seeing him blown awayby it, which not really a big
shock to me. But I'm veryvery hyped on Oppenheimer. Number two is
The Guardians of the Galaxy Volume three, and I think this movie is gonna
(35:07):
fuck me up so bad. Itmight be out now by the episodes now,
but I'm working on a piece foriow dot com of why the Guardians
of the Galaxy is basically like thehardcore metalcore group of like superhero movies,
because they're a big found family justlike you know, they're all a bunch
of misfits that found each other kindof just like heavy music. So I'm
(35:29):
writing like a big article on that, which I'm very proud of just finishing
it up. But I just loveI've always been like drawn to this team
ever since that first movie came outin twenty fourteen, and I just think
James Gunn they showed a clip ofRocket after he was created, with a
bunch of other creatures that got createdas well, and them coming up with
(35:52):
their own names because they only getlike numbers nine to them, and that
made me ball my eyes out soand every trailer has made me ational like
this movie is just gonna rip myheart out and then kick it across the
room. I know it. Ican feel it. And when this episode
comes out, we'll be seeing itthis week. So I'm excited, excited
(36:12):
to finally see it after all thisanticipation for it. That's my number two,
and my number one is a SpiderMan across the Spider Verse, the
sequel the into the Spider Verse. Also, it's gonna be very emotional and
then also just insane, Like everyversion of Spider Man to ever exist seems
like it's gonna be in this movie. So I'm excited to see what comes
with that one, because it's justthe first one was such a surprise to
(36:34):
like everyone you know, you knowwon an Oscar after No. One.
They're like, oh, I ama Spider movie. That should be cool,
and then everyone watch it and they'relike, yeah, what is this?
This is insane. So the followup to that, it's highly anticipated,
but I can't wait to see whatthey do with it. I just
(36:54):
man, those movies are special. They're special, special thing. I think
that then this one seems like it'sgoing to be more of the same,
maybe even better, which is sayinga lot because it's a really fucking good
movie. Yeah, Across the SpiderVersus. That's that's that's what I got
for my top five. Barbie,A Flash, Oppenheimer, Guardians, Spider
(37:15):
Verse, any anything about those thatyou're stoked about or could you care less
about all. I was gonna sayBarbie, my damn self, but I
was like, maybe I shouldn't saythat on this podcast. But you said
it first, so now I feela little better. Yeah, I believe
you're right. As far as theydid great with casting. I think everyone
fits their roles pretty pretty well, and they're they're gonna they're gonna kill it.
(37:37):
They're going to kill it. Ilove the means like everyone just in
the most opposite you could think ofBarbie and they're like two tickets Barbie.
That's been my favorite me like thelast few months. It's been people just
putting themselves under the whole like starand everything. Yeah. Yeah, that
genius, genius, genius marketing. And that comes out the same day as
(37:59):
Oppenheimer too. What a day forcinema. Barbie and Oppenheimer double feature.
A lot of people have been TeamBarbie, so don't feel alone there.
People are stoked on this yeah, they're probably gonna like that. Theater is
gonna fill up no matter where yougo. Oh yeah, it's gonna be.
I think it's gonna be a prettybig deal. I think, yeah,
(38:21):
you get all. You get allthe boys who like we're younger,
who played with their sisters barbies.I'm telling you right now because there is
now one guy in this damn worldthat will sit here and say I never
touched one. You did, straightup, you didn't care about it,
straight up, dude, You're notfucking wrong, dude that that's so dead
on. Dude, When I ain'thad the toys and I was staying over
(38:42):
my aunt's house, hey, guesswhat. I guess I'm showing I'm playing
with the barbies in there because I'min the bubble bad if I got nothing
else to do, I don't gotmy toys, so I gotta play with
songle. So yeah, give mea came with his trunks and give me
a Barbie with her badens you andwe're playing. I got no Shane.
I love it. I love itso I love it. Awesome, Loue,
(39:05):
thank you so much for joining meand chatting some pop culture of me.
This was this was a pleasure.Absolutely. I would love to do

And I call the phase one thatthere's going to be other phases, other

go about things like now that nowadayspeople don't really do full tours anymore.
It's all broken down and we're alittle old. Also we have we're married
(39:52):
with our children, so we haveto make it work. We can make
it work fair. Yeah, thatmakes sense. It's cool. It's cool
you guys can do that and stilldo do what you want to do,
but you know, do it atyour own speed. Yeah. I mean
we're still strong and kicking. Hell. Yeah, it's cool to see I've
been saying, I've I've been towuringten plus years, so I don't stop
