This week guest preacher, Rev. Brandon Cox, delivers a powerful message centered around the themes of justice, faith, and the role of prophets in society. He shares the story of Andre, a young man seeking asylum, to illustrate the struggles faced by many in the current socio-political climate. The sermon explores the concept of theodicy, questioning God's presence in times of suffering, and emphasizes the importance of lament as a collective effort. Cox calls for action and faithfulness in the face of deferred justice, urging the community to remain vigilant and engaged in the pursuit of justice and hope.

This week's scripture - Habakkuk 1:1-4
The oracle that the prophet Habakkuk saw.2 O Lord, how long shall I cry for help,
    and you will not listen?
Or cry to you “Violence!”
    and you will not save?
3 Why do you make me see wrongdoing
    and look at trouble?
Destruction and violence are before me;
    strife and contention arise.
4 So the law becomes slack,
    and justice never prevails.
The wicked surround the righteous;
    therefore judgment comes forth perverted.
