Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Happy Saturday, everybody. It is time for another
episode of Mets Bets. It is November twenty third, and
we are talking more Tampa Bay downs. This is day
two of the Meat and we are looking at race
five on the Saturday card, going a mile in a
sixteenth on the turf. We have turf today. We did
not have any turf on opening day because of track conditions.
(00:20):
I think they had a little bit of rain down
in West Florida. But today it is picture perfect down
in the Sunshine State and it seems like there are
gonna be a lot of competitive races on the grass
here today, and I'm really excited about race number five. Now,
last time I gave you guys, I think a horse
that went off at three to five. We're not doing
that today. I can guarantee that this horse will not
(00:42):
be three to five when it goes off. And I'm
not sure exactly how this turf race is going to go.
I'm not sure what the turf form looks like this
early in the season, but this is a good chance,
I think, to start testing a little bit and seeing
what's working and what isn't. So let's talk about the
favorite going into this race, and you don't have to
(01:03):
look very far on the program because it's number one
bay Long. Bay Long, I think is in the Caribbean,
like Saint Martin or Semotan or somewhere down there. I
think it's Saint Martin. But still this horse, you know,
it's Sammy Camacho, it's Will Mott. I'm sure that this
horse is going to take some money. Now, it's a
bigger field, it's a turf race, so I'm not expecting
(01:24):
it to be hammered down to three to five. But
I do expect Sammy and Will Mott to take a
little bit of money. And I am not going with
Bay Long. I think that, you know, Sammy Camacho on
the turf will certainly win from time to time, but
he's not as dominant on the grass as he is
on the dirt. And I decided to go with a
(01:46):
real big swing here. I originally like number five Cinceorrito
at twenty to one with Marcos Mineses aboard, but that
horse unfortunately scratched, and so I'm gonna look to another
long shot. I like two twenty to one shots, and
this one on art Handler. Art Handler written by Pedro Codo.
Now moving up in Glass a little bit last time
(02:06):
ran at the ten thousand dollars claiming level, now going
for sixteen thousand. But I like the form that this
horse is in and Pedro Cooto has been very very
strong on the grass and I like that he's a
jockey that feels comfortable in these turf races. He seams
up with Chelsea Moise, who also is pretty solid on
the turf two winning at an eleven percent rate, but
(02:27):
a positive ROI and again, we're just gonna try it,
all right, It's early in the year. I'm okay to
take a big swing and at twenty to one or
whatever this horse goes off at probably not twenty to one,
I think you get bet. It'll probably get bet down
a little bit, but I think that's a pretty good
morning line. And if we can get anywhere north of
fifteen to one on this horse, I'm going to be
very excited and see if we can get this four
(02:48):
year old gelding home and it would score us a
very nice prize here on Mets Bets. This is the
Mets bet of the day. We'll be back next week
with another race. I think we're back on Wednesday. If
I'm not mistaken. It's just one day of racing next week,
and then we have Thanksgiving, and then into a more
regular schedule as we get into December, and then of
course once you get into January, it really heats up
(03:10):
into twenty twenty five. So thanks everyone. Good luck today.
If you're betting college football, if you're betting horses, if
you're betting whatever out there, good luck, bet smart. I'll
