Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you can explain everything about God, why are we
not worshiping you. All I need you to know is
that we at Transformation Church in Race write this phrase
down the.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Mystery of God Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Didn't it say that he'll tell you of the things
to come, He'll show you if you would allow him. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I know they're working on that project. But at home,
I want you to dedicate two hours a night. Well,
God does more Netflix show? Yeah, yea, I know, but
you're gonna be broke for the next five years.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
And asking where I am. I'm trying to give you
the advantage right now. Every night. I need you to
give two hours to working on this.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Well, they didn't ask me for what if they didn't,
he said, maybe I'm in every room, I'm in every meeting,
I'm everywhere you want to be, and I know everything
you need to know.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I'm the Holy Spirit. Put some respect on my name.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Work on this project every night for two hours and
it would be just like God that three months later,
they're at a crossroads in the company and they call
everybody in for a meeting and the guy standing up
their frazzle. The big boss never comes in, but somehow
he's there today. I wanted to call everybody in here

(01:38):
because I need fresh ideas. What's happening is not cutting
it you what's your name, Jared? Where do you work?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Too low for you to know.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
But in my spare time, I've been working on something
that I thought would lead us into the future of
this company. And then you'll be like, I don't know
what to say, And the Holy Spirit stands up strong
on the inside of you. And as a matter of fact,
I need you to recognize that from y'all.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I'm telling y'all I have the Ed family.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
The only way I can explain it to you is
that Jesus told us that this is what would happen
John sixteen seven. Nevertheless, that word means that Jesus was
even having to convince them.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
This is gonna be hard for y'all to believe, cause
y'all walk with me.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
But I tell you the truth. Like that's like Jesus saying,
I put this on my mama. Y'all know how when
you was in school and somebody like put that on
some maybe like I put this on my mama, Jesus says, Nevertheless.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage.
That's Bible.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
It is to your advantage that I go away, for
if I do not go away, the Helper, the Holy
Spirit will not come to you. But if I depart,
I will send him to you, and in every room,
in every discussion, at the point of your failure, in

(03:26):
the midst of your mistakes, in the greatest hurts you've
ever experienced, the Holy Spirit, your helper, is your advantage.
Somebody say, I have the advantage. Okay, so let me
help explain this to you in a deeper way, because

(03:47):
let's just say it like this. The Holy Spirit is God.
So I want to break this down to you. God
walks with you all the time. You don't act like it. Now,
I just want to be like for real. I want
you to think about Shaquille O'Neil walking with you as security.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Everywhere you went.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
You would have more confidence and a retired NBA star
who's seven whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Walking with you.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Feel more protected with shaq walking with you, and you
have God, the Holy Spirit walking with.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
You at all times.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
At Christmas time, I hear everybody talking about Emmanuel.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Amen, you will, But do y'all know what Emmanuel means?
God with us?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Why do we only say that at Christmas, I call
him a Manuel. On Monday, Emanuel, we gotta go to
work today, Emmanuel, I got.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
To go raise these kids. What does that mean? God?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
With us and the problem. We have not seen the
Holy Spirit as God. And that's why last week I
tried to normalize your understanding of God, God and God.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Y'all remember that last week where I said it was God, God, God.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Put that chart on the screen because I need everybody.
If you're just joining us, go back and watch the message.
But it's worth us going over again that God is
his name, He's God the Father, Jesus is God, and
Holy Spirit is God. Three equal persons in one. There
is no delineation when one of them shows up. All
of them show up, but they have different and specific

(05:34):
functions according to the Bible. In our lives, God the
Father is provider, he is set apart, and he's holy,
and he has a residence of heaven.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Jesus is God and he.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Was our savior and now he is seated at the
right hand of the Father according to Luke, and his
residence is in Heaven. And God the Holy Spirit is
our helper and he's active and he's alive right now
on earth. He's your right now. It's all good because
it's all God. Now, I need you to hear me

(06:08):
say this. When God the Father shows up, he shows
up with himself, his whole self. So I know a
lot of y'all is like, well, okay, God the Father so,
and then Jesus and then the Holy Spirit like I
don't understand, like how is he here?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
And then they're there. Listen, this is beyond our comprehension.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I need to let you know that this is what
we call the mystery of God. Now, I know don't
know Church talk about this because we're so intellectual that
we want to know everything about everything that we use.
But the thing about this is, in this faith journey
that you're about to go on with God, you will
not be able to explain a lot of it.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
You see how quiet it is. I need to know really.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Because there will be parts of your Christian walk that
you will not be able to explain, you will own
be able to experience. I need you to hear me
say this because some of you who are so intellectually deep,
and you're saying, until I fully know what is going on,
I cannot serve God and.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
I can't do this.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
You don't know how your microwave fully works, but you
still use it. Some of y'all add thirty seconds, add
thirty seconds after y'all know who y'all are, popcorn that
you only use four buttons and it's thirty two of them.
But you're telling me because you don't know the ins

(07:36):
and outs of everything that comes with God, that you
can serve him. You don't know how math works. After
algebra one and they started adding letters, and they started
adding different signs and pie and.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
God, bless y'all. I like sweet with that, the pie,
but I didn't know pie. What was in math? You
don't know how it fully works.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
But you still use it to count your money.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
What I'm saying to you, listen to this. I heard
this quote.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
A God that is exhaustively understood by finite human beings
is not a God that is glorious enough to be worshiped.
If you can explain everything about God, why are we
not worshiping you? All I need you to know is

(08:41):
that we at Transformation Church in Race write this phrase
down the mystery.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Of God pasor Mike in First Thesalonians. And you don't
know this, and you don't know this. I don't, But
guess who will tell you?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
The Holy Spirit if you allow him, he'll tell you
about himself. Do you know how many scriptures I come
to where I don't understand the meaning and then I say,
the Holy Spirit, you have to give me revelation. And
just like that, as I begin to pray, I might
be walking out without understanding, and the Holy Spirit, you know,
it's like this right, and I'll be like, oh, my goodness, that's.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
What we call revelation. And he still speaks.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
And if you need a man to convince you, that
means that you have not allowed the Holy Spirit to
consume you. There are things that I don't have to
be convinced of because I was consumed by him. And
I'm telling you right now, just because you don't know

(09:43):
the ins and outs of how everything works doesn't.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Mean that you don't use it.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Accept your advantage, accept the upgrade, Accept the Holy Spirit.
Y'all know when I said God shows up fully, y'all
may not get it like that. So I'm gonna use
a real p person as an example so you can
see exactly what I'm talking about when I say God, God, God,

(10:07):
Maybe you'd understand it better if I said Mike, Mike
and Mike, okay, like like if I explain this to
you and it's me. Okay, So if you were looking
at my life, Mike is my name, Mike is my name,
Mike is my name. Mike title is pastor, and my
function as a pastor is what put it on the screen.

(10:32):
Leave me, oh, y'all going to the other way? All right,
we'll do it that way.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Okay. It's a leader and just build the whole thing out,
build the whole thing out. Okay. And and no, no,
no come back, bring it back. Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
My title is pastor, my function is leader, My status
is a lead servant, and my location of lead serving
is Transformation Church.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Okay. That's one version of Mike.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Friends, No matter what trouble you're facing today, God has
already provided the wisdom, courage, and strength you need to
stand for your gift to support in any amount we're
going to send you Joel Ostein's new book.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
You Are Stronger Than you Think.

Speaker 3 (11:09):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
