Speaker 1 (00:00):
The following is a sequel to twenty twenty four's The
Grove City Werewolf. If you've not listened to that, or
if you've not heard part one of this series, you
can find them in the micro Terrors podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Welcome to micro Terrors, scary stories for kids where it's
always the spooky season, full of chills, thrills, and spine
tingling spooks. Micro Terrors are family friendly frights for those

(00:49):
ages eight and up, and while our stories are for
younger years, we are still talking about things that go
bump in the night, and some children not be able
to handle what others can. Parental consent is recommended now.
Ports of Knights micro Terror The Graves City Library, Part two,

(01:18):
written by Scott Donnelly, narrated by Darren Marler. The words
Krieger the Creeper escaped Lucy's mouth with a chill inducing quality.
It created an uprising of goosebumps just beneath Sean's sweatshirt.
He had heard of Kreeger the Creeper, or read about

(01:40):
it was more accurate. Sean was convinced that he and
Lucy had probably been dipping in and out of the
same message boards and websites.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
For months. He nodded, a hint of a smile surfacing
on his lips. Yes, I've heard of it. What do
you know, Lucy inquired, testing to see the extent of
Shawn's grasp on the topic, Sean tried to recall what
he'd read online over the past year, with all the
research he'd buried himself in on the Haunting of the

(02:08):
Grove City Library. Surprisingly, it took quite a while for
anything of substance to surface, but when it did and
the pieces began to fall into place, it painted one
of the spookiest stories he'd ever heard. There was a
lonely old man named Anthony Moran. Sean began, he said,
by himself at the library for months, trying to write

(02:29):
a horror novel. He had his villain, Kreeger the Creeper,
but struggled to come up with the other characters. He
spent countless nights, for hours on end sitting at the
library staring at blank pages, driving him to the brink
of insanity. It was the worst case of writer's block
one could imagine. He lost track of time, he lost sleep,

(02:50):
he lost his connection to reality. And then one night,
one of the librarians saw how sickly he'd become. His
eyes were bloodshot, bursting with red veins, and were sunk
in back into his face. She told him to leave,
to go home for his own health and well being.
She left it at that, and when she came back
around a little while later, Moran was gone. She assumed

(03:12):
he left, so the library ended up closing for the night,
just as it always did. The next morning, they found
Anthony Moran dead between the stacks and the unfinished manuscript
of his book Kreeger the Creeper, in his cold, dead hands.
Lucy crossed her arms and adjusted her stance. Is that

(03:34):
all you know? Sean shrugged as he tried to recall more,
but couldn't. I think so it all comes together to
tell the story of Anthony Moran haunting the library after hours.
Lucy just stared at Sean and shook her head. Then
you don't know everything, she said. There's so much more.

(03:55):
Sean squinted, like, what, like what happened to me back
in the spring, She said, I was trapped in the
library after hours. I was basically attacked by a dark,
shadowy entity with bloodshot eyes, but then miraculously saved by
an old man who the staff insists doesn't even work there.

(04:16):
Sean's eyes were wide, his jaw agape a shadowy entity
like a phantom. Lucy nodded it was Kreeker the Creeper himself.
She nervously sighed and continued. I did a lot of
research after that. Turns out there was an anonymous post
online about the whole thing not long after Miran died.

(04:38):
It claimed to know what had been written in his
book up until his death. Kreeger the Creeper as a character,
was an evil spirit that would steal people from one
world and place them in another, completely erasing who they
used to be. Sean's stomach dropped now he saw where
Lucy was going with all of this that author, Sean said,

(05:02):
Darren Miller, you think I think that Anthony Moran's fictional creation,
Kreeger the Creeper has manifested in the real world as
a dark spirit and is actually the one haunting the library,
And I think his intentions are the same as they
are in Moran's book. He steals people from this world
and places them in another. Where Sean asked, completely mesmerized

(05:26):
by Lucy's conjecture, I don't know, Lucy said dreadfully, but
I think Darren has been taken by the creeper. Well, well,
what can we do The library is claiming it was
just break in. Lucy flashed an honorary smirk. Well, now
that I have a partner in crime, she said, gesturing
to Sean, I think it's our duty to uncover the

(05:49):
truth behind Kreeger the creeper, maybe even find a way
to save Darren. Sean wasn't sure how they would be
able to solve the mystery behind Grove City Haunted Library,
but he wanted to. It was all he could think
about for the past year, and the whole reason he
wanted to visit Central Ohio for a long Halloween weekend
to begin with. Tomorrow is Halloween. Lucy added, I couldn't

(06:13):
even dream of a better date to open up that
can of worms. Lucy extended her arm and bawled up
her fist. What do you say, partner, she asked. Sean
didn't hesitate. He gave her a fist bump and said,
let's do it. The Grove City Library was closed. Aside

(06:39):
from the continued presence of the police and a few
members of the staff. A couple of officers stood guard
out front where the glass door had been shattered. Another
couple walked through the building, meticulously covering every inch of it.
Casey Cox walked alongside one of the officers. So you're
showing nothing's been stolen, the officer asked. He nodded nervously.

(07:01):
I'm sure. I've had a couple of my staff go
over every inch of the place. Nothing's been taken, nothing's
been destroyed. Shine from the front door, dad is The
officer said, Wow, Oor, we're right. The officer stopped and
took a deep breath. If nothing was stolen, then what
was the point of the break in? Casey smiled and

(07:22):
shrugged adolescent Halloween shenanigans. The officer nodded and ultimately sided
with the assistant director of the library and the security footage.
Like I said to the other officer, it was all
glitched out, no video, no sound. I'll get you files anyway,
just so you could have them. We appreciate the cooperation, Casey,

(07:45):
The officer said, We'll try to get things wrapped up here.
Are you remaining closed for the day, Yes, she said,
I think we'll stay closed today and reopen in the
morning for Halloween. We have a couple of events for
the kiddos here mine, and I'd hate to disappoint them.
Chanangs good you guys do good Wikia. The officer smiled

(08:06):
and nodded before walking off to join his brothers and
sisters in blue. Casey faked a smile until the officer
was out of sight. Then the nerves hit like a
ton of bricks. She took the stairs to the second floor,
where her office was. She opened the door, slipped in,
and locked it behind her. Under her desk, she pulled
out a filing box which was full of peepers and folders.

(08:28):
She removed half of its contents and put them on
her desk. Then, from near the bottom of the box,
she extracted a leather bound notebook. She looked up to
make sure none of her staff was around, and when
she felt the coast was clear, she opened to the
first page. Scribbled sloppily in pen, on the first page
were the words Kreeker the Creeper, written by Anthony Moran.

(08:53):
Casey took a deep breath and began to finger through
the pages some more. She stopped when something caught her eye.
It was a new name, one she hadn't seen before
in the book She covered her mouth with one hand
and felt a rippling of nerves and fear shivering throughout
her entire body. This is how it always happened. It
was the unexplained method which Casey had unearthed over the years.

(09:16):
Whenever something strange or bizarre would happen at the library,
a new name, a new character would be added into
the book. It was as if the book was writing itself.
The name she was looking at was Darren Miller. It
was a name she'd never heard before, never seen in
her life. Who are you? She whispered to herself. Just then,

(09:38):
the lights in Casey's office flickered. She dropped the book
on her desk and gasped, spinning around after feeling the
overwhelming presence of someone else in the room with her,
But she found herself staring at nothing, at nobody. Casey
inhaled a shallow breath. Hello, she whimpered. Then from behind,

(10:00):
a murky, shadowy institution of horror manifested out of nothing.
He grew taller, with flowing arms that extended from its dark,
smoggy appearance. Casey felt it. She turned around, eyes wide,
mouth open. The figure loomed over her and revealed two bold,
bloodshot eyes in the darkness of its face. Casey began

(10:22):
to scream, but was immediately silenced when the dark phantom
reached out and seized her. Within the pages of Kreeger
the Creeper, Darren Miller was running for his life through
a sea of dead trees in a world of eternal night.

(10:45):
His boots hastily crunched through the crispy leaves that covered
the forest floor, occasionally crunching through other things that he
was convinced were bones, but didn't dare inspect. He felt
like he'd been running for hours, running in circles in
the dead woods. All he had to light his way
was the glowing purple moon that hung high above which
itself appeared cracked by the erratic, zigzagged canopy of dead

(11:09):
tree branches. Darren stopped to catch his breath, but was
immediately interrupted by a chorus of screams from somewhere in
the forest. This wasn't the first time he'd heard the screams.
It was all too frequent ever since he was stolen
from the library and placed in this nightmarish colosseum. He'd
heard the screams. Some sounded as if they were triggered

(11:31):
by fear. Others sounded as if they were triggered by
pain or torture. Darren had just hoped that whatever was
causing the fear and pain, that he wouldn't have to
endure it as well. Suddenly, a whooshing sound erupted behind him,
sending the dead leaves on the forest floor into a
manic display of chaos. Darren spun around and watched as

(11:52):
a swirling purple portal opened up within the cyclone of leaves.
From within it, a woman fell out onto the forest floor.
The portal immediately closed back up, and the twisting leaves
all gently fell back to the ground. Darren rushed over
to the woman and helped her to her feet. Are
you okay, he asked, standing the woman up. When their

(12:12):
eyes met, they were both in shock. A Darren, the
woman asked Casey. Darren responded they just stood there for
a moment. Casey was in shock. She looked around at
the bony trees that surrounded them, highlighted by the glow
of the purple moon. Where are we? Casey stuttered on

(12:33):
cue the chorus of screams erupted from the woods again.
She snapped her head back and forth, trying to see
where it was coming from or who it was that
was screaming so horrifically. Darren rested the hand on Casey's shoulder.
I think we're in this book, he said, in a soft,
haunting voice. Casey looked confused. Oh oh, what is whose book?

(12:55):
Anthony Moran's book Kreeger the Creeper, Darren said, don't you
see see this is what happens. The Grove City Library
is haunted by the spirit of the only character Moran
was able to flesh out his villain, Kreeger, Casey feroder Brow. Wait,
right before I ended up here, I was reading the book.

(13:15):
I saw your name, but it didn't sound familiar at all.
We were dealing with a break in at the library.
There was no break in. I was trying to break out,
Darren said, I was being chased by Kreeger. It was
only after I broke the glass that he grabbed me
and I ended up here. Now, Casey remembered, that's right,

(13:38):
you were in the library last night staking it out.
How did I not remember that? How did I not
remember you? Darren stood back. That's the character's mo He
steals people from one world and places them in another,
completely erasing them from the history books. Casey looked around again,

(14:00):
the never ending sea of dead trees, the screams in
the distance, the purple moon above Krieger's alternate world was
a nightmare, a trap. So Casey shakily said, if we're here,
that means no one'm back home knows whe're gone. It
means no one back home knows we ever existed. Darren added,

(14:25):
we've been erased. Then Casey whispered, in a haunting tone,
how do we get home? Thank you for listening to
