Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is a special listener Terrors episode. The stories sent
in by you are likely terror listeners. Send in your
own story at microterrors dot com. Welcome to micro Terrors,

(00:30):
scary stories for kids where it's always the spooky season,
full of chills, thrills, and spine tingling spooks. Micro Terrors
are family friendly frights for those ages eight and up,

(00:53):
and while our stories are for younger years, we are
still talking about things that go bump in the night,
and some children may not be able to handle what
others can. Parental consent is recommended now. Forts of Knights
micro Terror. The Monster Part one written by August age six.

(01:23):
The Monster, What does it do in the night? It's
the thing that creeps, creeps, creeps everywhere in the dark.
What does it eat? Flesh from humans and animals? Why
does it eat flesh? It needs the flesh to survive,

(01:44):
but it also likes to kill. Three best friends, James,
Jelly and Pete are about to haunt this monster and
see if the legend is true. They will wait until
it is dark and when it is time they will
get their camping tools and a big axe for protection.
But the stories also said that the monster is as

(02:05):
dark as night and can only be seen if they
use a black light. They spent all night looking until
they heard a clink, crackle step sound. They took the
black light out, then lifted it up and there it
was bloody, sharp teeth and gross green eyes. His crackling
feet had long nails that clicked and scraped the ground

(02:27):
with every move. The monster was in front of them.
The three best friends started to run and run and
run until they remembered the axe, so they took the
axe out and turned around to run back towards the monster. James, Jelly,
and Pete held up the heavy axe together and chopped
off the monster's head, and the monster's body dropped down.

(02:50):
But then something terrible happened. A new head started to grow,
bigger and more terrifying than before. The kids froze the
axe fell before they could move. The monster picked up
the axe and charged at the kids. That's when they
ran faster than they'd ever run before, with a scary

(03:11):
monster running behind them, gripping an ax, and then finally, bang,
they slammed their front door shut. All three were safe,
but for how long? Keep listening for part two of
this story. Later in this episode, the Ghost of Shunanchinich

(03:42):
written by Alitzel cruz Age eleven. I gazed out of
the window at the magnificent Mayan ruins Tsunachinich. The ruins
were breathtaking, fifty feet high, with amazing stone statues and figurines.
I wished toita my grandmother could be here. She'd always
wanted to see where her ancestors were from, but she

(04:06):
was stuck in hospital in England. I bit my lip
to keep the tears. At bay Lydia, mom called from
the kitchen, have you unpacked yet? I turned away from
the ruins. Something caught my eye. I snapped my head
back and glimpsed a shadowy figure scale a pyramid, then
fade away, as if blown by the wind. I saw someone.

(04:28):
I cried. They climbed the pyramid and disappeared. Of course
they did. I could tell my mom didn't believe me,
but I knew I hadn't imagined it. I trudged upstairs
and put away my things. Then I was released to
explore the forest surrounding the ruins. The rainforest was dark
and chilly. The humid, muggy air clung to me as

(04:51):
I walked. Suddenly, I saw something that chilled me to
the bone. Branches snapped on the ground like somebody was
walking on them. They glowed faintly green. Raising my hand
to stifle a scream, I ran. When I got back,
I blabbed what I had seen to my parents. They
didn't believe me. Over the next few days, similar events happened.

(05:15):
Things moved as if gripped by unseen forces. Doors opened
and closed by themselves. I stopped telling my parents, knowing
they thought it was just my overactive imagination. On the
fifth night, something truly eerie occurred. I was awoken by
a presence in my room. A figure shimmered by the

(05:36):
side of my bed. It was a woman dressed in white,
with eyes as red as flames. She beckoned with a long,
slender finger. I sat up in bed. My feet carried
me to where the woman stood. In a daze, I
followed her. The night was cold and bitter. She led
me to a lone gravestone and pointed to an inscription,

(05:58):
then at herself, her grave. I thought back to my
earlier exploration of the ruins. There had been a whole
cemetery there, neatly arranged in families. Then I remembered an
empty hole in one section, a hole where this grave
should be. All at once I understood the ghost wanted

(06:23):
to be near her family. As if satisfied that I knew,
she vanished. Terrified, I ran back to the cabin. Next day,
I demanded that Mum ring the authorities and poured out
my story. The authorities moved the grave. The ghost, I hoped,
was content. I received proof of her gratitude the following morning.

(06:46):
On my window sill was a note propped against a
glowing glass vial that said, for your grandmother. The next
year saw Abulita and me excitedly rushing out to see
the ruins of Shunantinich. Bablita had a full recovery with
the vial. I was happy, The ghost was happy, Abulita

(07:07):
was happy. All was right with the world. The Monster
Part two written by August age six. The three friends James,

(07:28):
Jelly and Pete were inside the house hiding terrified. They
could see the monster coming up the house steps with
a clink stomp, crackle, clink stomp, scrape, Then everything went quiet.
The kids poked out from their hiding place and saw nothing,
but then turned around to see the monster standing behind them.

(07:50):
They screamed, and then that's when they woke up. All
three were startled out of bed at the same time.
It was daytime. James Allien Pete somehow knew they had
all had the same dream and wondered how they had
ended up in their beds. They remembered they had looked
for the monster last night, then decided not to do

(08:14):
it ever again. This has been the special listener Terrors episode.
