full of chills, thrills, and spine tingling spooks.

Speaker 2 (00:47):

and up, and while our stories are for younger years,
we are still talking about things that go bump in
the night, and some children may not be able to
handle what others can. Parental consent is recommended now. Ports

(01:09):
of Knights micro Terror. The Green Sea by Magnolia Soboranas,
age eight. I love the sea. My brother and I
are going to snorkel. My brother is older than me,

(01:30):
so he's the boss. Put on your sunscreen, he said.
Then he made me wait five whole minutes until I
got to go in the water. Once I got to swim,
I was so excited that when I stepped in, the
water turned green. I yelled from my brother, but he
was gone. I swam and swam out into the ocean

(01:52):
looking for my brother. I dove down into the water
and I looked down, but I was too late. He
was pulled into the deep sea. I swam with all
my might to reach him, but he was gone. Suddenly,
a rescue boat pulled up next to me, and a
lifeguard yelled get out. I swam to the boat as

(02:13):
fast as I could, and they pulled me aboard. When
I looked down into the bright green water, I locked
eyes with the monster who had taken my brother. It
had cold, dead eyes, razor sharp teeth, and he seemed
proud of what he had done. I never wanted to
swim again, but then it was summer and all my

(02:33):
friends wanted to go to the beach. I still remembered
that horrible day, but I wanted to hang out with
my friends. My friends went right in and begged me
to swim with them. I took the risk and stepped
into the water. The moment I stepped into the water,
it turned that same glowing shade of green. I screamed

(02:54):
to my friends to get out, but they didn't listen.
One by one they were on. From then on, I
never touched water again. Years went by, and eventually I
got married and we had a beautiful baby girl. She
always wondered why I would not let her swim in

(03:16):
the ocean over and over. I said, you cannot swim
in the ocean. One day, her friend's mom took her
to the beach and I did not know that she
was going to swim. I was running late, and when
I arrived people were screaming. My daughter was confused. I
asked why, and she said something odd happened. The water

(03:38):
turned green. The End the Gym Teacher by Evelyn Strauss.
One rainy day, Susan in a class doing her cursive writing.

(04:02):
She noticed her hair kept getting in the way of
her pencil. Susan put her hand through her hair and
realized that she lost her scrunchy. This scrunchy was her
favorite rainbow scrunchy that her grandma got her for Christmas.
Susan knew she had to get it back, so she
raised her hand. Missus Johnson, I lost my scrunchy. I
think it fell off in gym class this morning. Can

(04:24):
I go find it? Of course, Susan, don't be long,
said missus Johnson. Susan left the classroom and started down
the hallway to the gym. As she walked, Susan noticed
the hallway was dark and quiet. She wished she wasn't alone. Nervously,
she opened the gym door just to see that every
light was off. The school gym was big and didn't

(04:48):
have a single window. Susan felt a chill slither down
her spine. Bravely, she walked into the darkness of the gym,
hoping to see her scrunchy on the floor so she
could get out of there. Freaked out, she quietly said hello,
hoping somebody would be there to turn on the lights.
Her voice echoed through the dark gym, then it was silent.

(05:11):
All of a sudden, the spotlight turned on, only showing
what was right below it. Susan turned completely pale. There
standing in the light was a lady wearing ragged joggers
and a ripped sweatshirt. There was a whistle around her
neck and she smiled a creepy, open mouth smile. Susan gasped.

(05:32):
Then the lights flickered on and off and it was gone.
A second later, Susan felt someone breathing heavily on her neck.
Uh uh. She slowly turned around to see the gym
teacher one inch away from her face, with dark black
eyes just staring straight at her. There was only one
thing to do ah, Susan yelled at the top of

(05:55):
her lungs. She shut her eyes tightly and clenched her
hands into fists. Tears trickled down her cheek. Hey, there
are you okay? Susan opened her eyes to see the
lights in the gym were all on, and mister Hayes,
the school janitor, was running over to her, keys clanking
with every step. What up in, child, I saw a

(06:15):
scary gym teacher. But it wasn't But it wasn't my
gym teacher. She looked terrible, Susan said, shaking. She can't
hurt you. You're safe now, child, said mister Hayes. Who
is he? Who is he? A ghost? Gasped Susan. That's
when mister Hayes told Susan that ten years ago there

(06:35):
was a gym teacher named missus Dean who one day
was fixing an old basketball hoop and somehow the hoop
fell on her and she died instantly. Missus Dean was
mean to the kids, and when she was gone, no
one talked about her ever again. After Susan calmed down,
mister Hayes walked her back to class. She wanted to

(06:56):
tell everyone what she saw, but no one would believe her,
or they just come her crazy. Waitit a second, said
mister Hayes. You forgot something my s Frenchy. Thanks mister Hayes,
Susan said, with a smile. You stay safe, Susan. Come
get me anytime you see something strange, I will, said Susan.

(07:18):
Pressing open the door to her classroom, she walked quietly
to her desk, sat down and smiled at her friend Mattie.
Susan continued her cursive writing and thought how she was
going to forget about that horrible ghost. Are you done
with your writing lessons, Susan? Her teacher, Missus Johnson, asked.
Susan's head was down. She was concentrating on making perfect letters.

(07:42):
Almost done. Susan looked up at Missus Johnson and her
stomach dropped because she saw raggedy clothes, a whistle, and
an evil smile. It's the gym, teacher Ah. The Nightmare

(08:09):
of Deadness written by Dex Lopez, age five. Once upon
a time there was a girl. She was sleeping in
her bed at twelve midnight. She woke up and opened
her eyes. She saw a thick, gray fog all around her.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Bed.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
She quickly closed her eyes and went back to sleep, snore, snore, snore.
One minute later, she opened her eyes again, but this
wasn't her bedroom anymore. This bedroom was a cave. And
then a clam grabbed her and snapped her apart the end.
