Supporter’s Club Preview Ep #4


In this episode I talk about my frustration with the lack of results I received after my years of solid effort to get acknowledgment for MY DAD and his service to the Local Police Department

In a city with a hardline MAGA stance and stronghold within its City Council 
My numerous requests that I’d made that had been dismissed over and over by local Law Enforcement and were completely ignored by the City Council

A City Council, that has held events about suicide awareness at the local pier and spoken openly about suicide 

A City Council whose members have made cute little videos that they’ve posted on the city’s social media pages grandstanding about the importance of normalizing suicide awareness and making it a topic of conversation 

In a city that has made and continues to make headlines for arresting a former NFL punter who recently spoke out at a City Council meeting - 

The same Police Department my Dad worked for and served his community as a member of - That same Police Department arrested the former NFL punter for speaking out against current Council’s hard line, zealot like worship of MAGA and all it stands for 

In a city that includes Christianity as one of it’s most honorable and and highest values - where GOD and RELIGION is very much their platform
It appears to be quite the dichotomy when I looks at the city’s current council full of PROUD MAGATS - yet they have completely IGNORED ALL of MY REQUESTS to acknowledge my dad and his service to the community 40 years ago

The Christian, God Loving City Council Members, who WILL NOT BE BOTHERED to say my Dad’s name. My Dad, the former City Police Officer whom most people describe as a good Christian and a GREAT Officer who engaged in Missionary work to those that have lost their way, on and off the clock 

I read all of the emails I received from the city’s Police Department’s retirees who reached out to me to share their positive, glowing stories about my dad with me and to offer me support as I continued to try and get some acknowledgment for him from the City and its Police Department

I tell a little bit more of mine and my families’ backstory

I share about the additional interactions I had with a few of the retirees that emailed me about my dad. Some of which I had phone conversations with and one that I met in person.
The former colleague of my Dad’s i met with in person, who I now call a friend, sent to me as a guardian by my father - if you believe in that sort of thing

I talk more about the conspiracy theories my family and my dad’s former colleagues have discussed over the years in relation to my dad’s untimely passing and give more details about his former partner with whom my dad engaged in street missionary efforts both on and off the clock

There are a few kismet moments and more gut wrench timing by the biggest loser of all, my ex husband. My ex husband who continues to disgrace the legacies of both my Father, a Police Officer; my Grandfather, a WWII combat veteran, and my entire family as he continues to live his life as though he’s some type of hometown hero, in my hometown, who gloats and boasts about the complete devastation he has brought to my life - while he continues to live in my hometown, a visitor and poser at best
