Speaker 1 (00:06):
Right right right, right, right right right.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hello, everybody, welcome to MIC and it. My name is
mob miss. This is my co host. Go ahead and
introduced yourself. Bro, what's good? Everybody is expected, and.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Uh, I want to start off the show too by
saying rip to the Colts owner Jim Ersa, who passed
away a couple of days ago.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
For sure, rest in peace, Jim. I definitely respect that.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yeah, and I know a lot of Commanders fans love
him because he was the one that suggested that he
the NFL forces him to sell the team and the
team as we saw last year, you know, just one
year away from Dan Snyder, the team mixed all the
way to the NFC Championship game.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
No, man, that's is a train wreck on the snider,
I mean to anybody can see that. Yeah, they they
definitely escape that. But what we're gonna be doing today,
just so everybody knows, we're gonna be going over the
NFL schedule week by week, highlighting certain games and certain
things you want to talk about.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Obviously, we'll drop the video.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Any questions comments, feel free to reach out to one
of us our hashtags for Twitter or down below. Our
dms are always open but I guess we'll dive right
into week one. I'll read them all off to you,
bro with you know, no predictions. I'm gonna let you
jump off where you wanna go from there. But right
(01:42):
we're starting off, so we're gonna they're gonna start. I
don't know how I feel about starting with this. But Thursday,
September fourth, they're gonna kick off with Dallas versus the Eagles.
That's gonna be the Thursday night game. They're going right
back Friday. They're gonna have a Friday night game Kansas
City versus the Charges.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Going into Sunday. Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Well, I will say I know a lot of people
complained about them opening the season with Dallas and Philly.
Obviously Philly that's I think that's when they get their rings.
But I understand why the NFL put that game on
first because it's Dallas. Dallas has the largest fan base.
Every year, their games get the highest ratings, so the
(02:28):
NFL they're just looking at money, so it's gonna be
a high rating game. It's the Cowboys Eagles. Obviously it's
the division rivalry, so I understand that. But the Friday game,
I want to get your opinion, because what do you
feel about them making the Chargers and the Chiefs open
the season in Brazil? Like, I understand the NFL wants
to go global, but do you think it's fair for
(02:50):
them to start the season in Brazil.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Ship that's another one of those things where the money
grab they would see what they could do in other markets.
I do get it from an NFL perspective, I mean
it's personally, like I said, the logistics is another thing
for the for the teams. Unless the vacations are good, uh,
(03:16):
they maybe they enjoy them.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
I'm not not one hundred percent sure.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I know they get to see in Brazil and Brazil
you gottaut those cartails though.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, I'm sure that hopefully they avoid certain areas. But
the one thing I guess I would say about that
is I would prefer to open up in a different
place and then get to reset for the rest of
the season than to have to do it and like
say mid season or something, unless obviously was followed by
(03:46):
my bye week. That would maybe change things a little bit.
I would say, I don't dislike it on Week one.
I hate it more during regularly, like deeper into the season,
when they got to reshuffle.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Well, see, I hate it for Week one only because
since it's the first week of the season, you don't
get a bye week. You got to play Week two.
And then also too, I think it's unfair for the fans,
even though this game is technically a Chargers home game,
and as an LA resident, I can tell you that
people here in Elliot don't really care about the Chargers,
so it might not make a difference anyway, but still
(04:21):
you're robbing the Charges of a home game.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
I agree, I agree. I think this is more about
promoting the Chiefs to Brazil.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Oh yeah, especially like you know, Patrick Mahomes and then
h you know Travis Swift, you know, trying to get
him out there.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Too, So i'd say that's my guess, but I would
say week one I don't dislike or like it.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Never personally been a fan of.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Even making teams go out of the country. But at
the same time, though, you do want to expand outside
of this market, the markets, So I mean, I guess
I'm kind of in the middle on it that it
would be my answer, I don't like it or dislike
(05:11):
it all right, Now, do you want to on those
two games before we go forward. Do you want to
Are we doing any predictions or you anything you want
to touch on, or we're just going strictly over the schedule.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I mean, I really have. It's hard to tell because
like we haven't even hit preseason or training camp yet,
so things could change or trades injury. But I mean,
based on what we saw last year, uh, the Eagles
should beat the Cowboys, and I'm seeing right now on
ESPN the Eagles are really civil point favorites for that game,
(05:51):
even though we're still like four or five months out.
And then the Chiefs are three point favorites over the
Chargers Kansas City them kind of interesting. Didn't see what
they're gonna do because they might've been the luckiest team
I've ever seen in my life last year. I mean
they won so many games by the skin and their teeth.
I mean like you had, like you know, you had
(06:13):
teams like they were winning games because like the kicker
hit the goal posts what should have been a game
winning hit the goal post and then it bounced out
so they win. Or the Raider game where like a
player jumped off side, so they want like just stuff
like you never even seen before. And then they look
ran out in the Super Bowl when Philly just.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, I guess, I guess the way we'll do it
is we'll put we can predict, like the nighttime games,
but like the Sundays were just kind of skimmed through.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
For the nighttime game. Sorry to cut you off, but
the Sunday night game Baltimore at Buffalo, yeah we didn't.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Don't wear it yet. We didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
We're gonna go through the one and then them we'll
get to so we just keep it in order.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
But I say this, I take the egos and the charges.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Charges always for some reason play the Chiefs tough, and
I think I think the Chiefs are gonna come out
lazy this year. What do you what do you think
on that? Guess you think they're gonna come out and hungover.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I mean, at some point, them making it to the
Super Bowl every year, it's gonna have to catch up
to them because they're playing more games than any other
team in the NFL and the Niners. They talked about
it during the offseason because I think the last like
five or six years, Kansas City and San Francisco played
(07:44):
the most games of any other team in the NFL,
and last year caught up to San Francisco all the
injuries they had, and at some point I gonna catch
up to Kansas City too. You can't keep playing all
those games like it takes a toll on your body.
So I'm year to see if this is gonna be
the year that it actually catches up like they caught
up to San Francisco. And if you hear anything in
(08:06):
the backgross my cat. But he has some opinions on
the two.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, don't don't right my cap and try breaking the door.
She started up your head scratch at the door. It's
not a hunting going on.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Is the cat.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
They're both they both went in. But yeah, I definitely
agree with that take. I do believe Kansas City towards
the end of the year will get will kind of
be close to what they used there. But I think
for some reason this year they start off kind of sluggish.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Now before I also want to bring up too, like
their divisions getting harder. Last year he had three teams
in the division, Kansas City, l A, and Denver all
made the playoffs, and I think both the Chargers and
the Broncos have gotten better this offseason get harder. The
(08:57):
Raiders did too, and I still don't see them making
the playoffs. But yeah, now I think that the vision
is is a lot harder and I don't think kense
is gonna run through everybody like they normally do. I
think they've won the division now like ten years in
a row, even going all the way back to when
Alex Smith was the quarterback, that they would done the vision.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah, yeah, they were a lot of people was surprised
when they even drafted Mahomes because they was making that
believe to the AFC Championship game with Alex Smith.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
That's what I always tell people too, because people will say, oh,
you know before Patrick Mahomes, can't see it was nothing.
I'm like that team won twelve or thirteen games the
year before Alex Smith. But it's a perfect situation.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I want to say, maybe two three years in the row,
he had them a ten plus one team. Now Sunday afternoon,
we'll skim through the slates. So, like I said, we'll
do one pm four pm. If there's anything specific on these,
feel free to let me know, and then after that
we'll go to the nighttime game. Now at one pm,
(10:00):
we got a opening up with the division rival, the Falcons,
versus the Buccaneers. We got the Browns. We have a
lot of division games going. We got the Browns and
the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
I think that game is the NFL trying to get
Cleveland off to a fast start. This year could be
no Cleveland, but Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Sorry, Cincinnati definitely needs to get off to a fast start.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
I'm wondering if giving.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Him giving him a cupcake with Cleveland, because we don't
even know who their quarterback is going to be for real.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Then we have Miami and Indianapolis be interested to see
who's the Colt starting quarterback when they come out. Same
thing with the Browns. Actually, we have the Raiders and
the Patriots, Arizona and New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Going back to the Colts real quick. Yeah, how do
you feel? So, as we mentioned earlier, Jim Er said,
the owner he passed away a few days ago, So
now his daughter is gonna take over. She's not the
owner of the team. So how do you think like
a change of ownership can affect the team like the
Coats this year?
Speaker 3 (11:12):
I have no idea. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I guess maybe i'd have to do a little bit
more homework on the daughter. See if she's Ben into
football if she's done anything with him in the past,
because maybe it just stays steady, maybe it gets a
fresh reboot if she's you know, Ben into football, or
maybe she high is the right people and gets younger
(11:35):
in the office, which I think right now is probably
a good way to go in the NFL, especially after
like you know, years of kind of being in the
same position.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
I think they'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I think they just need to figure out who's gonna
be behind Senna. I think I think Richardson got it.
I don't think playing Daniel James, and it's not even
like a Daniel Jones thing, where like I'm not even
gonna waste the energy to close in on him. I
know he's already heard everything, but I guess I would
(12:13):
just say Richardson has the upside. He's young. I do
believe he put his foot in his mouth a couple
of times, maybe last year, maybe more than a couple
of times.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Him him tapping out in the middle of the game
doesn't help his reputation either.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, well that's the thing. Tapping out is one thing.
Telling people why you tapped out was like a completely other.
I think it's it's messed up because I'm sure qbs
do this all the time, but it's like a fake
injury or you know, like they just.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Yeah, don't don't yeah yeah, As I said, like, don't
admit that you was too tired.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Like I'll give you an example. I don't know if.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
If you, if you, if you remember this game? Do
you remember Donovan McNabb in the Super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh yeah, he was like throwing up all over the place.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
All right, So it got to the two minute drill,
right yeah, yeah, and he was dying, bro, Like you
could just see he couldn't do it. Right now, I've
seen that as I was old enough to see, like
he's like super gas.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Right. He didn't tell you that.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
The coaches didn't even tell you that, like maybe like
next year or a couple of years later, people started
hearing about he had a conditioned problem that he couldn't
run the two minute drill. Now had here came out
after that Super Bowl and said I couldn't do it.
You would have looked at him a little crazy because
(13:51):
this is what you get paid to do, and he
wouldn't have got more big contracts. But he went on
and still got you know, his money and played a
lot of games.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
And that's what I all.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that he was
beefing with to O and Too is the one that
actually told everybody what was going on with him, we
probably would never even know him.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
And this this is what I mean. So it's like
one of those things where I think Richardson might just
be a little too honest.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Now that pop back.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
The talent's there, just sometimes less words is the best words,
you know, So just leave some of that stuff up
for debate. Don't say it, but I wouldn't have brought
Daniel Jones in. I think that room I will haunt
the development, you know, Yeah, because.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Antie richards he's probably the most like awkward quarterback I've
ever seen. Like he throws a beautiful deep ball, but
it's if he's just throwing the past like five yards.
He's like the most inaccurate quarterback I've ever seen, and
have the five yard passion like the most easiest one.
So he could throw a ball seventy yards no problem,
but five or ten yards is like he struggle.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
I don't know what the problem is is sometimes you're
too athletic. So he's he's obviously not ill Bean put
it like this, you can develop the short passes, gotta
he gotta, you know, make sure he's planting his feet,
show this square you know, get you know, just it's
just all about rhythm motion, that type of stuff. The
(15:23):
reason why he's doing all the special stuff because it's
easy for which is why it makes the easy stuff
hard for him, because he's so used to doing the
crazy stuff. It's like the dump off. He's like underestimating
You can't. You can't underestimate the little things. We know
you could do the big things right, take more time
(15:45):
doing the little things, and that's where the development comes in.
And that's why you don't bring in somebody to lean
over his show. The that realistically don't have an upside
right now in my opinion, Like we've seen his best year.
We've seen is probably maybe hopefully his worst year, and
we've seen the middle, which is most likely where he
(16:08):
stands at for his career. Right, he's an average quarterback.
He does have a good arm. I'm talking about Daniel
Jones now right, I.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Mean his best year though his best year he only
threw fifteen touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, now now look right, his best attribute to me
is his legs right now? When when I factor in
what they both can and can't do. At least Richardson
could do the special stuff. You got to teach him
the little stuff. Daniel Jones can only do the little stuff.
He don't have the special stuff in him. So this
(16:45):
when you look at the twoists like this really shouldn't
be a thing, bro, Like you should have took that
money that you gave Daniel Jones and just spent it
somewhere else that that'd be my overall opinion on that one.
What do you think?
Speaker 1 (17:01):
No? I agree? And to circle back, the reason why
I asked you the question about ownership is because I
know you're a Lakers fan, and we saw this with
the Lakers when doctor Buss passed away I think it
was in twenty twelve, twenty thirteen year Jennie Bus's daughter
took over. And since she's taken over, the Lakers are
(17:21):
pretty much been a mediocre like they haven't been as
dominant as they were under her dad. And so that's
why I asked the question, like, do you think, like
you know now, with you know, say passing away and
the daughter taking over, does that hurt or help the
team or do you think, like how I don't know
how the team will you know, would look in the future,
even this year.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Yeah, And that's the good good thing to circle back to,
because I guess I would say with Genie, at least
we like we kind of know that she's she loves
the Lakers as at least as a business right, so
she's trying to get the right people in there. And
even if you know, say she was a little bit
(18:04):
behind the owners and knowledge and stuff, she's working hard.
It looks like to get where she's at now. If
ersayes daughter has the same mind state, I think we'll
still take a while. Like Lakers is still trying to
find their way, but that's why I think they'll be fine.
If I guess if it's too much for her, I
(18:25):
believe she taps out and sells the Colts within the
next year or two, or at least lets people know
she's open for business, and I think that will tell
you kind of where her mind state is. But Genie,
I guess I had potential with with potential for her
from the start, just because I knew that she loved
(18:47):
the Lakers, you know, So I guess I guess I
would have to know a little bit more about Ersaye's daughter.
But if she loves the Colts and she's just not
kind of just getting them, you know, no just respect
recipes to earth, say, but just you know, getting them
passed down, it might just be an asset. It might
not be something that she wants to do day to
(19:08):
day with And if that's the case, I think that
they'll fall apart until they're sould.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah. That's an interesting take too, because I mean I
would imagine she she does love the Colts because her
grandfather owned the team that obviously her dad. Now it's
passed on to her, So I mean you would think
she would want to keep it in the family. But
I mean you could be right though, maybe maybe it
might be too overwhelming and she might want to sell.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah, I would. I would lean towards what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
If if I had to like make a choice right now,
I'd probably lean that way, because, like you said, it's
a it's a passed.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Down business that's been in her family for years.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
But once again, I mean I don't like if she
has her own businesses, she might be doing good. She
might already have uh you know, she might be very wealthy. Ready,
she might just be doing a lot of other things
and football just might not be something she wants to do.
So I'm gonna do some more homework on her, and
(20:10):
I'm gonna I'm gonna have a better answer by next
week's show, because I do I do want to do.
I do want to get to do the solid of
at least looking over her before I make like a
I mean, this is what's gonna happen tape situation.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Yeah, yeah, I get that.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Now let's see where was that?
Speaker 2 (20:32):
So coach Miami, Patriots, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Arizona, Jets, Pittsburgh, Giants, Washington, Carolina, Jacksonville.
Those are all the one PM games. Do you see
anything you want to dive into?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Uh, well, I'll say Jets Pittsburgh because the the conspiracy
theory is that the NFL scheduled this game because they
believe believe that, not that they believe they know that
Aaron Rodgers is gonna sign with the Steelers, even though
nothing's been confirmed yet. Yeah, but you know, I mean,
I know we don't want to get into conspiracies, but
(21:13):
I think that would be an interesting game, if anything,
would be just as feels chance to get like some
revenge on this former team.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
I'm gonna I'm gonna throw it out there, Rodgers are
being a stealer's uniform in that game starts.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Uh one, I forgot who said?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
It might have been rich Eyesing, Well it was one
of them. I know it wasn't Pat because Rodgers is
always on it. But and he ain't gonna leak out
on it, leaks something out in this boy. But they
said that Rodgers don't like primetime games, that he just
(21:52):
likes that one PM slot, right, and that they knew
if he signed before the schedule that they're going to
give them primetime games. Said, going in there not knowing
and thinking that it might be not be him, You're
not giving the Steelers primetime games.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
So they.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
And they said, I think believe it was the Eisen,
But whoever it was, I look into that as well.
But they said, right after the schedule drops, expect the
contract to come out. They said, because once they put
the schedule out, they're not going to want to change
things just over Aaron Rodgers. So as we go through
the schedule, I'm a check. We're gonna actually check how
(22:34):
many primetime games the Stalers have and if the NFL
scheduled them like that anyways, So that.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Is that's gonna be something interesting to see as we
go through the schedule.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
But I believe week one we see him in the
Steelers uniform. I also believe Lazade will be over there
as well. And I do not know why Rodgers likes
him so much. It's not like they do anything together.
I'm just like super confused with that combination. They must
play video.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I'll say this, Rogers, he's a very loyal friend. So
you know, he always tries to get his friends a job.
I mean Randall Cobb, even though he was at that
point past his prime it wasn't as good, he still
talked to Jetson to signing him. I remember maybe he
was like six seven years ago now, when Claid Matthews
(23:27):
signed with the Rams. Aaron Rodgers was upset because Claive
Matthews like his boy, and he was upset that the
Packers released him. So, I mean, he he would go
out for like people that he People call him a
bad teammate, but if he really likes you, he's down
with you. He's very loyal and he'll help you get
a job if you're a free agent and bring you
onto his squad.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
I definitely agree.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Let me see if there's anything the New Orleans game
in Arizona would be interested just to see who's behind
center for New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Well, it's gotta be uh, the guy that just drafted
I think him. Him and the quarterback that drafted last year,
Spencer Rattler. I think those are the only two quarterbacks
that have on the roster right now, says Derek Carry retired. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
If I if I was the Saints, I'm giving a
few teams calls or maybe reaching out to I mean,
I wouldn't even doubt this happens. Maybe find like a
bridge quarterback. I don't think the Saints go out there
with shuck week one. If I'm them, I'd probably call
Cleveland and and see what's up with uh Pickett. Yeah,
(24:46):
that would be that's I would let me.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Let me throw this at you, though, Let me throw
this at you. If you're the Saints, do you do
you uh? Do you tink for Archbanding? Obviously we know
his grandfather, Archie Manning is a Saints legend. Now you
can draft his grandson.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
I'd never believe in tanking. But if they if they
roll out there with shook week one, that might be
that absolute plan.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
So well, but yeah, that but see how that goes.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
They'll never admit it, But I mean that might be
the plan because I I see, like even like, for example,
if if you're New Orleans right now, you don't Jimmy
G would Jimmy G is probably available for the right price, you.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Know, like, I mean, he's definitely better than what they got.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
This this is what I'm saying, Like I'm looking around
the league and I'm looking, you know, at players that's
still available, seeing what QB's lose, you know, don't win
starting jobs. I don't know why they didn't make a
run for Jameis Winston, but I guess obviously they they
(26:06):
probably thought that that they had.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah, they were banking on Derek Carr being the starter.
We talked about this last show. We talked about them
passing on sher Door Sanders. It's like they were planning
on Derek Carr being the starter, and then he surprised
them and everybody by retiring.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
I gotta, yeah, I gotta throw a little thing in there,
because from the outside looking, it looks like he did
them super dirty, like the time end just everything was bad.
But with that being said, I think I haven't heard
really no bad rumblings or anything. I have a funny
(26:44):
feeling he might have told them, but it probably had
to be a certain day or you know, something wed
where he had to do it at a certain time.
I mean, I would hope he did business the right
way and told them, you know, because they gave him
his money. When people thought that he was like, you know,
not going to get the money, they waited past the
(27:06):
day he got his money, and then he chose to retire.
So I would just hope he told them, and if
he did, their organization didn't know what to do. Like
you had, there was quarterbacks out there to stop free
agency that.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
I said this, So I think I think he did
him dirty in the sense that had he told him earlier,
like you said, they could have signed somebody in free agency,
or they could have went out and drafted a quarterback earlier.
Because I think they drafted this kid just to be
a backup. They weren't planning on him competing for the
starting job. See.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
But I'm thinking that maybe he told them and it
just didn't come out till it came out like because
I feel like if he if he closed line them
at that date and that's the first time they heard it,
I feel like they would have went out there way
to somebody. There would have been some sort of bad
PI that came out. Because they paid him and then
he retired. I feel like it's like an Aaron Donalds situation,
(28:07):
Like we knew he was retiring at the Super Bowl.
Sean McVay knew, right, but they waited to announce it
all the way till after his guaranteed money kicked in
and then he retired and they worked around a few
things to just move money around for their purposes.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
But yeah, but said, I think it's differicult because, like
Aaron donald he was a RAMS lifer, and I think
he was loyal to the RAMS. The RAMS was loyal
to him. For Derek Carr, he's like he's always been
in New Orleans for like two three years. There's no
loyalty there. Plus not only that, but it's like a
new coaching staff. He didn't know this coach.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
But this is why I would I would have expected
them to come out and shot on him, and they haven't.
You know what I'm saying true. That's the part that
just gives me. It's like maybe they just didn't know
how to. I don't know, like they're a bad organization.
I just at this point I'm not I'm giving him
the benefit and fitted the doubt over them. That's I
(29:02):
think they just looked at Shook and they thought he
was that guy.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
I don't know, they might bro Like I said, it
may all be an archman in move.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
It might all be part of it.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Like, yeah, you can get your your granddad played here,
you can play too.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Said look right, said look, Derek, this is what we're
gonna do. Don't announce your retirement. We're gonna give you your money.
Act like you snaked us after the draft, so we
have one excuse and we're gonna be like we didn't
know all the quarterbacks was gone.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Now.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Really, it's like we're going down the slope. It's like,
is this all a archman in move? Might we might
need to get Derek Carr on the phone. It's like, Bro,
when did you tell them he was retiring?
Speaker 3 (29:43):
All right?
Speaker 2 (29:44):
So they just crashed, right, Yeah, that's kind of what
I thought. It's like, but I guess we'll find out
when they win one game.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Yeah, they go one to sixteen or so and.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
It's the last game of the season and it cost
that match man.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
And actually.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Did that happen to the Jets one year where they
I think it was like the last game they they Yeah,
it was. They beat the Rams and they cost them.
They cost themselves. Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Patriots did it last ship They would have had any
they would have the number one pick in the draft.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
They won the last game for no reason.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Oh yeah. Also not just the Patriots to the Raiders,
because ye living out here, yeah yeah, living out here
in La La is a Raiders town. I'll just put
it out there there, Raiders town. So a lot of
people were pissed off that the Raiders also wonder a
lot of people are pissed off the Raiders won their
last two games of the season because they dropped from
being the number one pick all the way down to six.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Yeah for real, for real, that's I mean, I don't know.
Some of these teams just shoot themselves in the foot.
The four PM slate, it's not many games. Looks like
they jumped up on stay everything at one Denver, Tennessee.
So we get to see the number one pick in
the draft. I'm assuming he's starting. I mean, I don't
(31:07):
see why he wouldn't. Yeah, Levitce is another quarterback that
I mean, I may make some calls on if I
was the Saints.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
You know, one of these other teams. We have San
Francisco and Seattle.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
I'm interested to see that game and watch our division
rivals beat up on each other.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
I love to see it. We have Detroit and green Bay.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
That's gonna be the would be the game of the week,
and that game could I think it's gonna become. I
think it's gonna be between those two teams for that division,
and so that game could be very important for who
de starts the division. Last year, Detroit swept that division.
They beat everybody in the division, so it'll be interesting
they could do it again. And I find it interesting
(31:53):
too because you and not being a Rams fans, we
know that the knock on Jared Garf being a Cali
boy is that he struggles in cold weather. So I
find it interesting that the NFL gets in the Green
Bay game in September where it's gonna be warm. You
ain't gotta worry about cold weather.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Hey, Hey, we appreciate it now. I believe you that
would be the game of the week. I think I
think both teams score up high twenties, thirty even maybe
forty points. I think Detroit posed the game out. At
the same time, I believe green Bay is a little
(32:31):
bit overrated. I also believe Jordan Love is a little
bit overrated.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Well, I'll say this about I agree with you about
green Bay. For Detroit though, to me, and not just
with this game, but the whole entire season, is because
I felt last year they would have won the Super
Bowl if they didn't have so many injuries. I think
they had fourteen guys on defense on the IR and
(32:56):
you only play eleven. So let me as you have
backups that are on the IR. Yeah, they're they're They're
in the playoffs. They were playing guys the third and
four stringers on tap. That's why Washington carved.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Them up and they still they still was fighting too.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Yeah. Yeah, it'd be interesting to see this team if
they can stay healthy this year, how far they can go.
And going back to no Jared Golf, it'll be interesting too,
if he can get to the super Bowl in his hometown.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Yeah, I agree, I agree. The last actually, excuse me,
not the last game. The Sunday night games Buffalo and
Baltimore that we know what's gonna go down there.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
That's gonna be re mentioned, the playoff game.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Yep, slug Fest, and then the Monday night matchup is
gonna be Minnesota and Chicago. I am interested to see
that game for two reasons, assuming we see JJ McCarthy. First,
big reason on to see how he looks. Last time
we seen him on the sideline, he looked like he
(34:00):
lost thirty pounds or something. He looks so small, so
hopefully he got his weight back after that injury.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Him at the Timberwolves game, and he looked like he's
getting some weight.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Yeah, I know, I know that he's you know, he's young.
He up and down, probably not not much of a deal,
but I know after that injury in first seeing him,
he looked like he lost a lot of weight. And
then then Chicago has retooled in like so many ways.
They got Luther Burden over there, They they drafted extremely well.
(34:33):
They spent money to load up on I mean just
about every position. So I am interested to see if
Caleb takes the next step because he's getting all this
stuff done to him that they didn't do for Justin
Fields that you.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Know, I would say this about kill Well, okay, I'm
let me start all over, let me rewind. I'll say this.
I am like you, I mean, by this game, I
am kind of surprised that's a Monday night game because
you know, Minnesota they're kind of questionable. How good were
was last year for real? Or was this just a fluke?
(35:12):
And could JJ McCarthy take him over the hump in
the way that Sam Donald couldn't. For Caleb Williams and
the Bears, I'm with you. I'm very interested to see
the Bears, and I know people want to like shoot
on Caleb Williams, but he did have a very decent
rookie rookie year. As a matter of fact, his numbers
were very similar to Jaden McDaniel. I mean, yeah, Jaden McDaniels.
(35:35):
The only difference is that you know, the Commanders were
winning the Bears weren't, so we we kind of like,
you know, dismissed his numbers because he was on a
losing team. My big question though, is Ben Johnson. You know,
people say that he's like the next you know, genius
head coach and all this other stuff. So we're gonna
see how good of the coach he really is and
(35:57):
is he the next Sean McVay or is he the
next Jeff Fisher. I don't know. Yeah, we're gonna find
out this year.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
That is definitely, that is definitely a good question.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
All Right, Well I can I can go to week two.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
I got it, I got it up down. But yeah,
I I I agree with everything you said. And I
don't think Caleb had a bad year last year. I
do think he did that.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Those a few things that.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
That that I didn't like about him last year, and
I and I put them out there now and we'll
see if these if these things get fixed, or if
it's more pointing fingers, which I hate in football, right,
like the best quarterbacks. Like I'll give you an example.
(36:46):
We've seen Tom Brady's scream at players on the field.
Didn't not all the time, didn't hear what they were saying, right,
But when Tom and I know a lot of those
times we've seen him screaming, we've seen that he probably
was screaming because dude ran the wrong route or you
know some you see why he's mad, He's he's the moment.
(37:07):
But at the end of the game, Tom Brady never
went to the podium and said it was his fault.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
It was his fault.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Tom Brady always took accountability. He never blamed nobody. Right,
That's what makes the greats. The Some of the most
athletic people I've seen in my life love the point fingers,
and it's it's highly unrespectable because you're just born gifted.
But you're a complainer, right, be a grown man. Right,
(37:36):
if you're the quarterback of a football team, you take
that accountability because when you're winning, you take you get
all the love. Right, So when you're losing, take a
little of that. Don't point fingers, don't blame the coach.
And I'm gonna give you examples of what I mean. Right.
First of all, another thing in the NFL, don't get tackled,
sit on your ass for an extra three minutes pouting
(37:59):
while your people's trying to help you. And you have
him sitting there with his hand up because I could
pull up clips him doing that five to ten times.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Well that was a knock on him going all the
way back to college.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Yes, yes, so so you got to get off. Get
off that you're soft. That looks soft to me, right,
we no crying in football, what I'm saying, that's first thing,
so off of that, right, because that that those mannerisms
need to stop. That's the first thing of no accountability.
(38:29):
When your mannerism look like you're a worldwide complainer, that's
the first thing I don't like. After that, there's a
few other things, like I seen this dude literally kill
two Clarks at times. You could have tied games with
phild Goes or potentially one, and you let the whole
clock run out, and people are looking at the at
the coach like he should call a time out. Yes
(38:51):
he should, Yeah, absolutely he should. But you know that
the quarterback could turn around to call timeout too, right,
You know he's an addition to the coach that if
that was Tom Brady, look, look and Belichick, or if
that's Peyton Manning or any of the good topic. Matter
of fact, if that was Jade and Daniels last year,
he would have turned around and called the timeout.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
This is the difference in players. What Caleb needs to change.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Stop crying, stop pouting, right, stop pointing fingers, take accountability.
You have the talent now if he don't what you're
gonna see is next time the clock runs out, he's
gonna go and blame his coach again like he did
last time. You got the coach fired. We know that
they're gonna take the play over the coach when you're
the number one pick. But here's the thing, you are
(39:38):
just as much to blame on all of those blunders
as your coach.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Go back and watch the film. He didn't call timeout,
neither did you.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Well, okay, I agree with you on everything except for
the coach part. Because Matt Eberflus made those same dumb
ass mistakes when he had just in Field as his quarterback. Yeah,
I mean, he putt much. He pretty much cost them
the game against Washington, which that was the game that
changed their season. I don't think they won a game
after that because they got off to a hot start.
(40:09):
Think there was like four and one, four and two,
and then they lost that game against Washington on the
Hill Mary. But the everybody was criticizing them because you
can see that your defense is out of position. Why
not call time out and get them focused and settled in.
He didn't do that. He just stood there with his
hands in his pockets and then they gave up the hill, Mary.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
I agree. I agree.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
And that's why there's a captain on defense and when
they should be and that captain on offense. Mainly defenses
typically if you have one your top middle linebacker. Sometimes
it's just safety, you know, offense obviously a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
Bottom line is this? I get it.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
It's coaching that these dudes don't know the call of
time out, but you also got to understand. You got
to have a little bit of common sense too, bro.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
So it's like, the thing is this. If you see
there's forty seconds on the.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Clock, you know where, down by two or three points,
whatever the case may be, right, and you see that
something's going wrong or you didn't get a playout in time,
or a play didn't get in in time, or whatever
the case may be.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
This is the big leagues, bro. This ain't midget football
no more.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
This isn't you know, D one high school or or
even college or semi pro. This is the big league, right,
went something went wrong, a play didn't go in, a
system went out, you didn't get the call, you didn't
say it in time somewhat, whatever the case may be, right,
you're watching that clock tick down the same way the coaches,
(41:49):
you both have the same ability to do this.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Nobody.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
Yeah. Sometimes I think when it came to the Bears,
part of me feel like those players wanted him fire
based off the reaction when he finally did get fired. Agree,
a lot of players, a lot of players are talking
a lot of shit about that man after you got fired.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Great, but agree, But this, this is, this is my thing.
What I'm trying to tell you right, put this, Put
this into a bigger perspective. The pouting, the whining, the complaining.
It's his fault that I didn't call the time out,
even though I have the ability to do.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
You think that's gonna change with a new coach.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
That's the question that needs to be answered, because my
guess is, Look, look, my guess is he's gonna be
pointing fingers at the next coach. He's still gonna be
sitting on his ass crying. He's still gonna be pouting.
It has nothing to do with talent.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
It's up here. What's gonna prevent that kid from being great?
Speaker 1 (42:51):
That's just my I agree with you, and that that
was my next appointment. I mean a point it was
going to be, like I don't think for those things
he just talked about. It's gonna be coaching, it's gonna
be maturity. Now, how how much does he mature? The
one thing about Jaden Daniels, and I think what separates
him from other rookie quarterbacks is that he was older.
(43:13):
You know, he was an older rookie. You know, people
made the point last year that he was Oldly he's
older than Trevor Lawrence who's been in the league now
for five six years. You know, he was older, like
maybe a year or two younger than Joe Burrow who's
been in the league for five six years. So he's
a you know, Jayden Dems is a lot older, a
lot more mature, while you know, Caleb Williams is still older,
(43:35):
like twenty one years old. So I think for your point,
I think it's all about how much does he mature,
how quickly does he mature?
Speaker 3 (43:44):
Agreed?
Speaker 2 (43:44):
I agree, Well, we'll see, we'll see how it happens.
I have belief in his talent, I really don't. Don't
have belief in in his mental game. It just doesn't
doesn't scream Stott, an NFL quarter back to me personally.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
And speaking of a new ownership, they're another team with
changing ownership because their owner passed away a few months ago,
so Virginia Mkowski, so now her her son's down could
be taken over. So it'll be interesting to see the
direction the Bears go in too, with a new changing.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Ownership for sure. For sure.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
Now Week two, we have a good let me just
pull this up. Yeah, we got a good Thursday night game.
We got the Commanders versus the Package. That's I mean,
that's gonna be a good one. Jumping into Sunday, these
are the one PM Slater games Jacksonville and Cincinnati Giants
(44:47):
in Dallas. So Dallas is going back to back division games.
Chicago and Detroit.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Troy also going back to back division games.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Yep, the Rams got Tennessee. Interesting, that should.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Be one that should be easy one for the Rams.
Real quickly about Detroit and Chicago, I think that'd be
an interesting game because again a lot of people were
giving Ben Johnson a lot of credit for Detroit's success
the last couple of years. So it'll be interesting to
see if those Lions players come out to prove like
it wasn't it wasn't all about him, it was about
(45:22):
us on the field, and see how they come out
and play against their former offensive coordinator.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Yeah, and we got Pats in Miami.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
San Francisco versus the Saints.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Interesting, they got the Niners starting the season with two
road games.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Oh yeah, they they but they also got the easiest
schedule in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
Yeah, we'll talk about that later.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Then we got Buffalo, Jets, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore. Those
would be all the one PM games. There's not really
too much I personally want to speak on right there.
You have anything that you want to touch on.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
Uh No, for the the one o'clock games, it's yeah,
it's kind of whatever. Something we're gonna jumps out of me.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Same same four pm.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
We got Denver, Indianapolis, Carolina, Arizona, Philly, Case so.
Speaker 3 (46:18):
We get the Super Bowl rematch rematch YEP. Week two.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
I'm surprised that the surprised that the Sunday night game.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Yeah, I know, Atlanta and Minnesota is this Sunday night game,
which is awkward over Casey Philly.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
You would think that those games would be flipped.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
It's also awkward too that Minnesota gets two primetime games
to start the season.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Yeah, it is probably there only two as well. Monday,
week two we get we get the doubleheader, so we
got Houston and Tampa going first, followed by the Chargers
and Raiders. I guess Houston and Tampa could be a
decent game, and then we got a divisional game. But
that just I personally, that's an underwhelming Monday for me.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
What do you what you said about saying about to
say none of those none of those games? Uh?
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Yeah, week two, I guess it's all about the Rams
and check it out. What what Wood looks like during
that game? That would probably be my main goal.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
Yeah, to me, the highlight, the highlight of week two
just the super Bowl rematch and to see, if you know,
does Kansas City, like you know, come out any type
of way from being embarrassing super Bowl or just Philly
like no, just blow them out again?
Speaker 3 (47:37):
Yeah for real?
Speaker 4 (47:38):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (47:39):
Going into diving right the week three.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Kicking off on Thursday, we got Miami Buffalo with the
division game. We probably have a good idea what's gonna
happen in that game.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
It seems like every time Miami plays Buffalo too it
gets knocked out with a concussion.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
Hopefully not.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
Get him some of those helmets now now Sunday the
one pm games. Oh all right, so we have Green Bay, Cleveland,
not much there, Indie Tennessee Division, Cincinnati, Minnesota. Pittsburgh starts
(48:22):
the season three weeks in a row at one pm.
Speaker 3 (48:25):
That does fit that narrative.
Speaker 2 (48:27):
I told you they said he likes one pm games,
so they they literally might have just loaded them one
pm games to get him to go there.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
He's he's forty two. May him be a ball nun?
Speaker 2 (48:38):
Yeah, I mean real talk. He also has podcast to
recording stuff like you don't got time for this. We
got the Rams versus the Eagles, the rematch going on
week three. That's gonna be good.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Hopefully can hopefully somebody can stop this time.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
Yeah, is.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
The one thing I won't deep dive, but I know
a lot of people get on the missed block by
Lima at the end when you know Cup, Yeah, I
believe Cup was open going across or it might have
been Cup going across the middle field wide open, right.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
Now.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
I get that, you know, but in a lot of
blame for some reason, when I watched fans, a lot
of blame goes on that play, which obviously was the
last play the chance to take the game and then
there's there's a lot of things on the two runs,
which is, boy, what are you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (49:51):
Right?
Speaker 2 (49:52):
But I would say rewatching that game. The score I
maybe off by a point or two, but we'll go
back and check this. I believe the Eagles was winning
sixteen fifteen. It was something like that, right, the Rams
(50:14):
had took all the momentum. We was in Eagles territory
in the red zone. Hiring fumbled. That's why we lost.
That was the game loser, Like we was about to.
We already had the momentum. We was going in for
a touchdown. You know, we're going for two, so we're
(50:36):
either going up five or seven, right, and we're leaving
with the momentum. Now, if Saquon breaks that next touchdown
what she did on the very next two plays, right,
it's tying the game. But we still have momentum. Now
we're in a battle. Instead, he fumbled, Saquon took one
to the house. We got stopped. Saquon took one to
(50:57):
the house. We still dragged our ass back. And yes,
Limma missed that block. But I don't like how these
Kiren truths try to swiftly skeep by. He lost us
the game because if I had to pick one person,
it was him, Bro, and.
Speaker 1 (51:11):
It's Yeamle was a momentum killer.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Yeah, it cost us the lead, the potential lead, and
the momentum. And like I said, the Eagles took the ball,
turned around and Bockley went eighty.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
Whose fault was that?
Speaker 2 (51:27):
It's Kyrin's because the Eagles shouldn't have had the ball.
They shouldn't have the lead neither. So now they kept
the lead, they scored another touchdown and we was we
was climbing up a ladder from there. So Limma's block,
it's easy to point at him, but I don't know
if that was the play call. Maybe they told him
that's who he's supposed to do. Calls get called in
(51:47):
wrong all the time. Bottom line, we shouldn't have been
in that position. We shouldn't have been struggling to fight
back from two home run runs because we should have
been winning the game. Now at the end of the day,
this is why I believe Kyen don't get a new contract.
Speaker 3 (52:03):
And we touched on that.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
Bro, you fumbled at the most biggest moments. You're not explosive, right, So.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
And then Blake korm does the same shit that he does.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Yep, and jack Ques is now explosive and more powerful
than you. Why would you pay this guy twelve million
dollars a year?
Speaker 3 (52:24):
So why.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Like, that's the bit who's doing that? I don't even
think another team is doing that. I think that's why
that contract hit standstill. It's like, bro, look it, no way, bro.
Like I like the kid, but at the same time,
I know, I know Sean McVay holds little grudges and
(52:48):
I know he loves Kyroen. I know that fumble makes
him lose sleep still to this day more than that
Limma miss block and I mean Rams fans could get
mad or whatever, but that's the truths.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (53:03):
I will it will be. It will be an interesting
game that could be a potential NFC Championship game.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
Yeah, I'll say this. I'll go even further.
Speaker 2 (53:15):
Unless I mean, then, you know, matchups in the playoffs
could change this, unless the Lions knock out one of
us and it ends up Lions Egles or Lions Rams.
I highly expect my first choice to be Rams Egles
in the NFC Championship game, with the Egles maybe the
(53:36):
team that disrupts that pick. I mean, excuse me with
the Lions, the team that disrupts that pick if anything.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
Yeah, to me, to me, it all depends on the seating.
Uh so the seating will be uh depending on how
the seating works out. Yeah, I can see. I believe
it's gonna come down to one of those three teams,
even though I do, even though I mean, we never know,
things could change. But last year I thought it was
(54:03):
gonna come down to those three teams, and then Washington
pulled off the upset. But yeah, I think again will
come down to those three teams and they'll all come
down to ceed on who plays who win.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
I'm also I'm also, I mean not I'm not sleeping
on the Niners at all this year. I know a
lot of people that that was.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
Gonna be that was gonna be one of my sleeper
teams that could disrupt all that.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
But yeah, yeah, I wait, well it's it's all right,
my fault. But at the end of the day, you
got I mean, it's just not to not sleep on
the Niners.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
The first Speaking of the Niners, though we talked about
this last episode, Rock Purty contract and Rock Purdy taking
less money allowed them to resign. Fred Warner.
Speaker 3 (54:49):
Yeah, yep, that's I mean, that's I hate it. But yeah,
good for them.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Should they should have give you They should have given
eighty million, Like you.
Speaker 3 (54:56):
Said, that's what I'm saying. Three and fifty million, guys. See,
that's what he needed. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
But the four PM slate Denver Chargers, New Orleans, Seattle.
Then at four to twenty five Dallas, Chicago, Arizona, San Francisco,
and the Sunday night is the Chiefs and the Giants.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
You know, these are surprised.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
I'm surprised I got the Giants on prime time.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
These primetime games that have been gross so far. Tell yeah, Jesus,
we do have a good Monday night game.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
And I guess this could be go ahead.
Speaker 1 (55:35):
I was to say, I was gonna say, if the
Rams Eagles is potential NFC championship game, this game right,
here's a potential super Bowl matchup.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
That's exactly what I was gonna say, potential super Bowl
matchup Detroit and Baltimore on Monday, that that definitely should
be a real good game.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
And people let every year people have to do the
conspiracy theories about the colors in the Super Bowl logo,
and this year's Super Bowl. I don't know if you've
seen the logo. It has the Lions and the rapist
colors in it. So see for conspiracy theories out there.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
I guess yeah, I guess we'll see. Thursday, we start
off with a good matchup to watch because we get
to watch our division rivals beat up on each other
Seattle versus Arizona. Then Sunday, let's see, Oh look at
look at this.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
I don't know if it is this? Where is this?
Speaker 1 (56:30):
Minnesota Pittsburgh are playing in Ireland, another international game.
Speaker 2 (56:35):
The reason why I say that is because this is
Andaron Rodgers hates these. Now we're talking nine thirty in
the morning in Ireland. Maybe he likes bear Baby, he'll
enjoy it. I don't know, but I don't think that's
a game that that mister Rodgers would like it all.
And also I don't believe the NFL would book them
(56:56):
in London. Excuse me in Ireland. Believe in Mason Rudolph
is going to be their starting quarterback side.
Speaker 1 (57:03):
Well, I think I think the whole Ireland thing, though,
has to do with the Roney family, because Dan Rooney
got risk of his soul. But during the Obama administration.
He was Barack Obama's ambassador to Ireland. So the Steelers
and the Rooney family have connections to Ireland. So I
think this game is more about the Steelers than anything else.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
All right, Well, off of that, we'll see how Rogers
feels about it. The one PM slate hits, we got Atlanta, Washington, Buffalo,
New Orleans. New Orleans is looking like they ain't winning
a game for a while.
Speaker 1 (57:40):
Tell you man, they might be taking for arch Maning.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
Yeah, I mean, honestly, if Cleveland don't get it together,
they might be owing for at this point too. Detroit
and Cleveland, New England, Carolina, Los Angeles, Charges and the Giants.
Speaker 3 (57:59):
EGO.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
Quick about the Giants, how many games do you think
they wait until they start Jackson dark or do you
think Russell Wilson starts to hold with.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
I give it six games?
Speaker 1 (58:14):
Yeah, because looking at their first and we'll talk about
this at the end, but looking at their first four
gamess like this, it's brutal. I won't see the Giants
win in any of these games.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
That's I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
I'm looking at them starting off the season maybe one
in six at that at that point, by not putting
Jackson Dot. I don't see how you wouldn't, so I'd
probably say six seven weeks in he would probably see him,
if not earlier. The thing is this too, History has
a weird way of repeating itself. Remember when Flynn got
(58:44):
the big money to go to Seattle and then they
drafted Russell in the third round and then he actually
won the job in training camp and started week one
and everybody was super surprised. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised
that Jackson Dot looks better than Russell Wilson and he's
the So.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
You're going you're going there. When you said history repeating yourself,
I thought you were talking about Eli Manning because they
got well so they didn't draft Eli. They traded for him.
But before the draft, if you remember, their big free
agent signing was Kurt Warner. Got the Rams that just
cut them, so they brought in Kurt Warner. He was
(59:22):
gonna be the starter. Eli Manning was supposed to sit,
and then the Giants got off to a slow start.
I think after like six seven games they benched Kirk Warner,
put Eli Manning and also Keating Gods. Yeah, yeah, I
hated that, but uh yeah, but then like Eli Manning
and then also to Eli Manning went to Old Miss,
(59:43):
Jackson Dark went to Old Miss. So it's kind of
like the same situation where you bring in a veteran
guy Russell Wilson, you draft Jackson Dart, who's gonna sit,
and then looking at their schedule, they might struggle the
first six seven games and they might just bench Russell
put the rookie in the history.
Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
You gave him the super deep dive.
Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
It's just hilarious that is going to be happening to
Russell Wilson when he has missed to somebody else before.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
So, I mean, well, we were talking about Aaron Rodgers,
but his career is so far mirrored Brett.
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Far Yeah, yeah, it has, it has, but we'll say
it's it's gonna be an interesting road. I don't think
it will take long for us to see Jackson die
unless he looks terrible in training camp. But I mean
he's probably if not, he we've talked about this, but
(01:00:37):
he's definitely one of the guys in the draft that
looks like he got it. He has a confidence to
him too that I think will translate well in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
Well, yeah, I mean they drafted him because they believe
he's going to be the future of that franchise. But
I'm just questioning because looking at their schedule, I'm just questioning, like,
how soon is the future going to be? Right now
they're playing these You know, let him sit for the
next year or two. But I don't think he's gonna
sit two years. Based on what I'm seeing right now.
He might just play this year.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
In the NFL, the future is always now. That's what
the future is, So i'd say sooner rather than later.
We do have another Division game at one Tennessee and Houston.
You kind of have an idea with that. I don't
expect Tennessee to be that much of a threat this year.
I am interested to see what they look like though
(01:01:29):
four pm.
Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Well, going back to the one pm game, though, I
am interested in Philadelphia and Tampa. Yes, Tempa is one
of the teams that actually beat Philly last year, and
a lot of people thought that if they met in
the playoffs, Tampa had a good chance of beating them again.
But obviously Washington again they screw that up by upsetting
Tampa in the first round. But I think that'd be
(01:01:51):
an interesting game between Philly and Tampa. For some reason,
Tampa matches up will against Philly for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
I agree, that's probably the best game one PM game,
for sure. At four we have the Rams in nd
sam fran and Jacksonville.
Speaker 3 (01:02:11):
Case.
Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
At this point San Francisco might be frigging four and
O like they're ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
How easy the schedule is.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
Yeah, Kansas City Baltimore would be that's always a good game.
The Raiders versus Chicago. Chicago in an eight pm game
would be Green Bay in Dallas.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
All okay, Baltimore and Kansas City. The question is is
this the year that Baltimore finally beats Kansas City and
the Green Bay Dallas game That again, that's just a
that's just a cash grab, because yeah, I think Green
Bay's kind of overrated. Dallas is overrated every year. But
those are two teams well large fan bases. You know,
(01:02:57):
the ratings for that game is going to be highs
and the NFL is just be swimming in money with
those two teams playing on Sunday night.
Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
Yeah, I mean, you hit that now right on the
head and I throw a step further. Yeah, I mean
there's a few other guys you can obviously put in
this conversation. I'm not going to go ahead and name
them all, but you can make an argument those are
the two most overpaid quarterbacks in the NFL going to
head to head on Sunday Night, Jordan Love versus Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
Yeah, Jordan Love getting paid fifty million a year for
accomplishing nothing. Yeah, and then we talked about Dak's contract.
There's no way he should be the highest paid player
in the NFL, let alone the highest paid quarterback based
on what he's doing. Like, I can name ten quarterbacks
off the top of my head that's actually accomplished more
(01:03:50):
than Dak Prescott but yet to make it less than him.
Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Yeah, I mean, and this ain't a knock on people
getting their money. Salute to youalls, Salute to your agent.
I'm not really trying to take it too personal, but yeah,
your agent along with he must be Kirk cousins agent.
Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
Is this the same guy? We need to look into this,
like yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Yeah, because Kirk Cousins, I don't know. Yeah, but I
don't know how Kirk Cousins throughout his career. So Kirk
Cousins has been the NFL maybe twelve thirteen years so far,
kirk Cousins has made more money than the player in
the NFL history. Yeah, and it's like, what this guy
who can't even win a Prime Top.
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Game because he's it's because he worked those those tags.
Speaker 3 (01:04:35):
He worked those one yo. Listen, Yo, listen, you yo.
You like that, know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:04:42):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
I like how they run business.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
But I just got to point out when you know,
maybe you shouldn't be getting you maybe shouldn't be like
top definitely not top one in the game for sure
as far as money.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
But he and the but he's somehow he tricked Atlanta
giving him one hundred million guaranteed off of a torn achilles.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
Yep, right now, right now, he's a low key low key.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Yeah, right now, right now, kirk Cousins is the highest
paid backup in NFL history.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
Yeah, kirk Cousins also another one of those guys I
expect to be starting. Like if I'm the Saints, I'm
making a call, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
Like, yeah, they gonna make a call. But I don't
I don't see Atlanta tridding him to their division rival if.
Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
The price is right, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
So I mean, I guess what it always comes down
to for me, though, is you know how I feel
about right like I in no way I'm starting the
season with shuck.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
It's just no way.
Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
And it started not a knock on him unless the
archman in move, I guess is what you're going for.
Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
We'll stick. We'll stay away from that theory though.
Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
Now we have another double ahead of Monday week for
Oh Jesus christ Man Jets and the Dolphins. Yoh, I
pray to God the Jets are actually good this year
because I do want Justin Filz to succeed, So let
me just not knock them.
Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
And then we got Cincinnati and Denver.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
You say anything there you like, well will I will
say this about Cincinnati and Denver is that last year
they played in one of the most exciting games I've
ever seen when I want to have ever seen, but
one of the most exciting games of last season. And
that was the game where actually it helped me with
my fantasy because Joe Burrow just went off. He threw
(01:06:29):
for like five touchdowns and like over I think, like
five hundred yards, and then t Higgins had like three
touchdowns like two hundred yards receiving it like they they
were so focused on stopping Jamar Chase that T Higgins
just went off in that game. And Denver has a
top ten defense too, with Joe Burrow just lit him up.
(01:06:50):
But at the same time, Bo Nicks lit up the
Cincinnati defense, which isn't really saying much. But we'll see.
We'll see if that game is just as exciting as
was last year.
Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
All right, I I you, I mean, you hit everything
that I probably couldn't say that. I'm the only one
thing I do want to make sure that I throw
out there. And I felt like this maybe for a
couple of years, So it's not really a new take.
It's probably if you checked down my timeline you'll find it.
(01:07:21):
I think T Higgins is the most underrated wide receiver
in football. I know that that might you know, might
have that little health concern type of thing with him,
But sometimes when people haven't got that money yet, it's
how to play through things. Now he got his money,
it might be you know, less injured.
Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
Oh yeah, yeah, I said you took. You took the
words right in my mouth because a lot of his
injuries the last couple of years have been like, oh,
like a sore hamstring or you know, my back hurts,
you know. It's so yeah, I think, yeah, I think
those are things now that now that he's gotten his
money's like, you know, his back feels a lot better
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
That's like what Jalen Ramsey had those injuries in Jacksonville
and he got traded to LA. He came out week one.
You know, it's like not week one, but the first week,
first week he was there. So I think sometimes not
getting your money and playing through something that could turn
into something probably is advised against when you're talking to
(01:08:20):
your agent.
Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
Yeah, but those Beck injuries are always funny when they
when they report that a player hurt his back, because
it's one of those things that you can't really prove said, Okay, yeah,
Beck hurts, I just woke up wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:08:35):
Yeah, So I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
I think we'll see t Higgins minus something drastic. We're
gonna see him play a full season and and we'll
we'll relive this after.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
But the last time, the last time he played a
full season, they went to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Yeah, I think I think, like I said, in that season,
I think he was probably their best wide receiver, which
is hard to say because Chase is so good.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
But Higgins is just.
Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
More of like the wide receiver I grew up watching,
Like Jama Chase is so explosive when the ball hits
his hands and he can do everything. But Higgins just
kind of fits that wide receiver mode.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
You know. You know what They remind me of Chris
Carter and Randy Moss. Like Chris Carter was the guy
you you hit under the under the scene, Yeah yeah,
and then T Higgins was Randy Moss. He's the guy
you just throw it up to because he's so tall.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
He's he's just small obviously, but he's also probably a
million times more athletic than Randy.
Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
But yeah, that the height though. Like T Higgins and
Randy the book, Like.
Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
No, I agree with what you're saying, perfect analogy. One
of them is is the flash, and one of them
is they He'll get you everything else, he does it
the right way, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
So Higgins, I actually thought if Cincinnati hadn't paid him,
actually thought he was going to go to Jacksonville and
link up with this college quarterback. But they were able
to work it out in Cincinnati after Joe Borrow put
their feet to the firece and that you better pay
my boy.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Yeah, after playing with Borough for a couple of years,
he don't want to play with that generational talent in Jacksonville. Yeah,
so now week five we get, we get some fun
on Thursday night. Sorry, Tony Man. You know I love
aw and I hope y'all do good at Jacksonville. But jesus,
(01:10:33):
now Thursday we got the Rams Week five going against
the Niners. This is what we're had for nine is
taking that first L Baby?
Speaker 3 (01:10:45):
How do you feel?
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
I agree? I agree. The one thing that pisses me
off about this game knows that it's kind of like
another home game for the Niners every year, so hopefully
Rams fans show out for this game.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Yeah, I hate that, But in hindsight that keep buying
our tickets, I own appreciates it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Well, I will say this though, because I know a
lot of people on Twitter make a big deal about it,
but I do give the people here in La somewhat
of a past because like, there was no team for
like twenty years, and so like anybody born after like
nineteen ninety six, you had no NFL team, So it's
(01:11:27):
just natural for you to, like the Raiders go go
to different teams, well, the Raiders is kind of funny
because like the Raiders, the Raiders also left in ninety
six too, I think the same year as the Rams.
Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
I always say, what I mean is like Oakland, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
Yeah, yeah, But I was gonna say about the Raiders though,
because I always thought the NFL made a mistake when
they blocked the Raiders from moving to LA and allow
the Chargers to move here instead, because there's so many Yeah,
there's so many Raider fans out here. And the reason
for this because the Raiders used to be in LA
and then they moved to Oakland and then now they're
in Vegas. But like, just talking to Raider fans, a
(01:12:05):
lot of them say like, yeah, like you know, their
dad was a Raider fan, so they pass it on
to them. Now they pass it on to their kids.
So for Raider fans here in LA, it's kind of
like a generational thing, like, you know, my grandpa was
a Raider fan, my dad was a Raider fans, and
now I'm a Rador fans have a thing. Yeah, that's what.
There's so many Raider fans out here.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
I do believe though, Dallas and everybody pushed for Stand
to get that LA spot, and they wanted the Rams
to be the you know, be the top top out there.
I don't think they could have did that if they
sent the Raiders. And I think the NFL no.
Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
No, no, no, no, no, yeah, they couldn't.
Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
That's that's the problem, you know what I'm saying. So
that would send them the Charges and the Rams. It
was like kind of like, y'all go fight for it, right,
you know what I'm saying. But you send the Raiders,
it's like you already lost the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
You know, even it doesn't matter how bad the Raiders are,
they're still gonna be number one here in La.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
Yep, I agree. We do have a London game.
Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
On Week five, Minnesota got another basically primetime game against Cleveland,
which again awkward choicing for your to showcase in London
for your privy.
Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
Well, I find it interesting that Minnesota has two international
games because remember, now they're playing Pittsburgh in Ireland and
now they're playing Cleveland in London.
Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Yeah, and I'm going to give you a prediction. This
is when we're gonna come back and relive, right all right?
Week five in London, Minnesota versus Cleveland. Sandy starts the game.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
Money grad that's he that's your prediction. What do you
What do you think they do with the Dylan Gabuilding
invest the case.
Speaker 3 (01:13:57):
I don't think it really matters.
Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
I think by week five, Si just takes that job
because his landslides better than that kid, and his tape
says that, you know, so I don't. I don't think
it matters. I think that by week five a few
of those older quarterbacks either been released, traded not there,
or have been benched or hurt or hurt. We might
(01:14:22):
even see Dylan Gabriel get first hack at it week four,
but by the end of that game going into London,
Sanders would be the brown starter.
Speaker 1 (01:14:35):
That's yeah, Cleveland. Cleveland's in an interesting situation because Dylan
Gabriel is the player that the coach and the GM wanted,
Chador Sanders is the player that the owner wanted. So
it's kind of like who wins out there, Yeah, coach.
Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
And that's why I think Dylan Gabriel will get the
first hack at it, and I think the kid will
be overwhelmed while while prime Son is sitting there ready
for this, he's too big. Fans so the minute that
he gets in there, he's not giving it back. That's
that's I think.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
I think I think it would be the other way around.
I think Sanders just the first crackheaded only because that's
the player that the owner wants. You the owner has
to win out ofver the coach you would.
Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Think anyway, Well, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
I think I think that most owners try to stay
out the way if they're not Jerry, and so I
think that the GM will go with his guy first.
They always kind of you know, but I just don't
think your guy's gonna be in long. That's and he
might even get whacked first play and just be out
the game. So we'll see how We'll see how it goes.
(01:15:40):
It's also he's a lefty, so all protections change. Your
right tackle is now your left tackle.
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Yeah, left, your right tackle is the most important offensive lineman.
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
Yeah, so basically it just playing a lefty quarterback isn't
as easy for offensive line as people would think, unless
like for example, the Rams haven Stein's probably our best
offensive lineman, it'd be okay to have a lefty right
it Also.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
It's not easy for receivers either, because I watched the
interview with Jerry Rice and he talked about when Steve
Young took over from Joe Montana, he struggled a little
bit because the ball comes out differently from a left
handed quarterback up here to a right handed quarterback as
it does. So for Jerry Rice, he had a just
to the yeah, he had a just the different angles
(01:16:33):
of the ball because now he's playing with a lefty
instead of a writing.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
Yeah, it's it's just just a lot of a lot
of stuff to go on with a left quarterback. Where
with lefties, where if you're if you're not, if you
just don't know, one mistake could get a it's easy.
I feel like it's just easier to get a lefty
quarterback hurt in the NFL if if you're coaching doesn't
know what they're doing. That's that's just my kind of
(01:16:58):
observation over why over the years, I know there's you know,
been some the last but like Vic probably outliner because
most of his injuries he probably kind of caused on
his own running. But I've seen a lot of lefty
quarterbacks coming for a player two and instantly get drilled.
Then that ball go up in the air.
Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
I'm saying, there's a reason. There's a reason it's only
two lefty quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame, Steve Young
and Kimy Stabley.
Speaker 3 (01:17:27):
Yeah, so you it's playing lefty.
Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
I feel like in the NFL might not be as
easy as people think from the quarterbacks standpoint. But the
after the London game, we we got some more underwhelmings
going on. We got the Raiders and the Coats, the Giants,
and the Saints when their first game right there, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
And and week five the Saints might be looking at
only five the Jets in Dallas, Philly and den that
should be a pretty good game. Miami and Carolina, Houston
and Baltimore. Those are all the one pm games outside
of I'd say maybe Philly, Denver and Baltimore Houston. I
(01:18:17):
don't think there'll be too many surprises in the one
pm slater games.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
What do you think?
Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
Yeah, I'm with you. There's nothing in the one pm
slay games that really uh that really tickled me.
Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Yeah, I feel you. The four pm slater is a
little better. Tennessee Arizona not not too much. But then
we got Tampa Bay Seattle. I'll be interested in that game.
I do want to see how Donald does up to
that point. I want to see if people be yelling
for Milroed to come in at that point or if
(01:18:49):
completely went down to shitter. But then we got Detroit,
Cincinnati and Washington.
Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
And the Chargers. Those are all the four PM games
the eighth. Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
I think Detroit Cincinnati, and I think Detroit Cincinnati could
be a be a good game, and that could also
be a potential supple matchup as well.
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Yeah, that's that's probably gonna be game of the week.
I guess this is actually the Rams bye week too.
They get an early buy, but.
Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
No Rams played. Rams played Thursday.
Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
Oh yeah, Thursday. Whoops. Yeah, that's why I just blanked out,
all right. So now now we got them the Sunday
night game, which is the Patriots in Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (01:19:34):
I'm surprised by that because New England. I don't really
see them being all their goods. I'm supposed to have
prime time.
Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
Yeah, yeah, I know, even though even though.
Speaker 1 (01:19:42):
There's a lot of hype right now with the Drake Man.
Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
Yeah, maybe that's why.
Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
And I mean, I think I think they'll be all
right this year. I don't think there'll be a threat
to Buffalo though. Now Monday and the bye week teams.
That's why why I thought it was just the Falcons,
the Bears, the Package in Pittsburgh get there bye week.
Now Monday we got the Chiefs in Jacksonville. I mean,
(01:20:07):
I don't have much to say on that game.
Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
What about you?
Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
Yeah? Me neither?
Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
Yeah, just get by that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
So Thursday, week six, we got Philly and the Giants.
Giants get a primetime game. I guess it's a rivalry.
I do believe maybe we have Dot at this point
week six. That could be why the NFL did that.
Maybe they want to see Dot on primetime. What do
(01:20:35):
you think about that game? You think this is a
primetime worthy game?
Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
No, But to your point, though it is a division rivalry.
Some people say that the Eagles Giants is probably the
best rivalry in football, or the second best, right behind
Packers Bears. But other than the history of these two teams,
I don't. I don't think so. I think Philly blows
them out. But as I actually earlier, this is now
(01:21:00):
week this is now week six, So no, at what point,
because you know, the Giants schedule so far has been brutal.
So that's why actually earlier, at one point, do we
see Jackson dart or do they stick to their plan
and just go and just roll it out with Russell Wilson.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
Well, this is week six, I'd say if they're zero
and five at this point or one in or excuse me,
one and four.
Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
And that game goes bad, this is probably the.
Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Game that we see Jackson died in if we're being
i mean week six through ten, anywhere in that in
that area. I believe that that we see him if
he don't outright, just like I said, I wouldn't, I'm
at this point, I'm not underestimating him beating Russell Wilson
(01:21:51):
for the job just start the season, but I'd say
if he doesn't, then this is probably around where we
see him. We do have another London game Week six,
the Jets in Denver. I mean, obviously things could change,
Teams get better, teams get worse, but it just seems
(01:22:13):
like I'm through six weeks, I'm super underwhelmed with these
primetime games.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
Bro Well, on paper, on paper, Denver should blow them out.
Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
Yeah, yeah, it's just I'm seeing Jets, Giants. I'm seeing
just too much primetime action that it's like, what is
making you think that these teams are gonna be good?
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
I guess maybe I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:22:39):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:22:39):
I don't think it's so much they think these teams
are gonna be good. I think it's again it's a
catch graph. It's New York. It's the largest market in
the country, so they just they just know the ratings,
ratings are gonna be hard for these games, just based
off you can get the New York market.
Speaker 3 (01:22:56):
Let's see how that goes.
Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
But the one PM games, we got Arizona on an
Indy coat excuse me, charges Dolphins, Brown's Steelers, another one
pm game for the Steelers, Niners, Buccaneers, Dallas, Carolina, Seattle
and Jacksonville. And the Rams got Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (01:23:17):
That's another another potential Super Bowl matchup.
Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
Yeah, Rams and Ravens. Sounds good to me.
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
That's probably Oh no, Actually, there's there's a couple of
potential games of the week because yeah, so after the
one pm games at full we have Tennessee Raiders Cincinnati
Green Bay, which should be a real good game, the
Patriots the Saints, and Sunday Night ends with Detroit Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
So so far, there is.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
I mean, the Monday night games don't look that serious.
We have three potential games of the week and I
didn't even say the Tampa the San Francisco game.
Speaker 1 (01:23:59):
Well, every time Jared Garf and Patrick Mahomes played each other,
magic happens, So hopefully we'll get that again on Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
Yeah, I agree, I'm probably meaning.
Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
So far, And so far, Jared Goff is undefeated his
career against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
Yep, they said he couldn't win without Sean McVay.
Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
I mean he couldn't do it. Monday, we got a doubleheader.
We got Buffalo in Atlanta and Chicago and Washington. These
could be two great games or two upsetting games. Which
way are you leaning?
Speaker 1 (01:24:41):
Well, if Chicago and Washington could live up to the
hype of last year's game where it literally came down
to a hell Mary, that should be an exciting Monday
night game. And then for Atlanta they get another prime
time game. So they must really think that Michael Pennix
is going to be really good.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
I believe so. Pennix is I wanted the Rams to
draft him last year. I didn't expect him to get
taken where it was. I expected him to be sitting
in the second round, and I was praying. I prayed
for it, and it didn't happen. That's that's what happened.
Speaker 1 (01:25:17):
Well, based on his college career, I'm not surprised he
went top ten, but I was surprised that he went
to Atlanta after they just spent one hundred million on
Kirk Becuzins.
Speaker 2 (01:25:26):
Sometimes you sometimes you see something and you just gotta
make a move.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
I respect it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
Now we get that London game, We're going to Wembley Rams,
but Jags, well, first Thursday we got for Week seven,
we have Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, so a great Thursday night
game on Prime video. So we're starting off looking good.
(01:25:53):
Assuming Rogers is the guy.
Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
Then well, even if Rodgers is not the guy, I mean,
don't GFC North. Yeah, the AFC North is probably one
of the best divisions of football. And all four of
those teams always play each other well. And I want
to say all four because Cleveland, but three of the
three of the four teams always played each other close.
And uh, you know, Joe Burrow last year, he just
(01:26:17):
shrudded the Steelers defense apart one of the few quarterbacks
to do that, so I think that'll be an interesting game.
Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
Well, I'd rather have Rodgers then have like somewhat of
a shootout than have like one of those six to
three games.
Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
So just hopefully he's there and you don't.
Speaker 1 (01:26:33):
Oh yeah and talk about speaking of Pittsburgh because actually
about Jackson Dark Let's say they don't get Aaron Rodgers,
how long do you think we see Will Howard, who
they did draft, the quarterback out of Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
I don't know, man, I think it's more like their
frogers don't come that they make a trade. They're probably
a team to watch out for cousins.
Speaker 1 (01:26:57):
So you don't you don't believe Mike Tomlin when he
says that he has all the confidence in the world
in Mason Rudolph.
Speaker 2 (01:27:03):
I mean, who didn't everybody believe him when he said
that he loved Saander's as a prospect and then he
kept passing by him. So it's like, come on, bro,
I great coach, but I don't believe much that any
any of them say to tell you the truth, So
it's not not just him. Yeah nah, that that kid
ain't sting. If he does, it'd be a disaster, but
(01:27:25):
go going flying down to London. Now we got the
Rams and the Jags.
Speaker 1 (01:27:32):
I gotta, I gotta get up early for that game
because that's that's six thirty my time, six thirty in
the morning.
Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
Then I hate those early games. I like him, but
I hate him.
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Then one PM we got the Saints and the Bears, Dolphins, Browns, Pats, Titans, Raiders,
Chiefs Philly and Minnesota, Carolina and the Jets. That's all
the one pm games.
Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
Uh really tickles me. I will say, historically speaking, the
Raiders always played the Chiefs very tough, so that might
be an interesting game. But other than that, there's nothing
really that pops out.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
Same thing Minnesota, maybe in Philly. But four PM games
we got the Giants in Denver, Colts and Charges, Commanders
and Cowboys Packers in Arizona. And then Sunday night we
have Atlanta and San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (01:28:32):
Again, another prime time game for Atlanto, so that they
must really love Michael Pennix.
Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
Yeah, he's I mean think he's gonna have his breakout. Yeah,
we have a doublehead on Monday, Tampa and Detroit. That's
gonna be a good game. In Houston and Seattle, you
have anything to touch on those games.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
Not really. I mean, well, I'll say this, Tampa Detroit
should be a good game. Tampa one of the few
teams to beat Detroit last year. But then when these
two teams met in the playoffs a couple of years ago,
Detroit played Tampa. I mean, Detroit beat Tampa. So I mean,
I think it's always a good game when these two
teams played. When they played each other last year, too,
(01:29:14):
it was a weird game because Tampa won. If you
look at the stats, Detroit dominated that game. But I
think what killed them was just turnovers. It's kind of
like their game in the playoffs against Washington, Like you
look at the stat line. Detroit actually dominated Washington, but
it was just the turnovers that hurt them.
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
I man, I agree, yeah that way. I guess we'll
see how it goes this time. I lean Towy's Detroit well.
Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
And I'll say Houston Seattle. The NFL thinks so much
of this game. That's not even on TV. It's on
ESPN Plus, So you got to pay to watch that game.
Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
Yeah for real?
Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Now going to that's actually pretty But going into weekend
on Thursday Prime, we got the Viking and Chargers Sunday
one PM, Dolphins and Falcons, Jets and Bengos, Browns, Pats,
Giants and Egos, Bills in Carolina, the Bears in the Ravens,
(01:30:17):
and the Niners in the Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
Yeah, once again, nothing really pops out in that opening window.
Speaker 2 (01:30:25):
Yeah, it's looking like, well, I guess the Niners in
the Texans. I'll be rooting for c. J. Stroud that day,
So I guess that'd be the only thing I'll be
interested in in.
Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
The one Well, the story that game. Those could be
the coaches because Damico Ryans longtime defensive coordinator of the Niners,
so he knows everything that Kyle Shanahan is gonna do.
So it might be like a chest match between Kyle
Shanahan and Jamico Ryans in that game.
Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
Yeah, respect the four PM games divisions. We have this
division rivalry Saints and Bucks. We have Denver in Dallas, Tennessee,
and the Colts another division rivalry.
Speaker 3 (01:31:04):
And then in a.
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
Primetime game for the Pittsburgh still is Sunday Night going
against the Green Bay package.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
Well, if there's a conspiracy about Aaron Rodgers going to Pittsburgh,
this is the game because I can't see any other
reason they'll put this game on Prime time.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
Yo, they they Aaron Rodgers, don't tell them I'm signing.
They looked at it like, show up, Bro, you're going
to London. But you have eight against the Package Jets
opening the opening the seat. Listen, you open them in
the season against the Jets, right, you sent them to London.
Excuse me, Island, right, and now you have them Sunday
(01:31:46):
night against the Package.
Speaker 3 (01:31:47):
Bro, just sign the contract. They got you. The duper
is over. They got you.
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
They're not playing games with you, Aaron, Just sign the contract, right,
so we could get over that and stop taking his talking.
Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
Mason Rudolph crap.
Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
Shout out to Mason Rudolph, but come on, nobody believes
he's going to be the start of this year. Now Monday,
we have the Commanders in Chiefs, which should be a
good one.
Speaker 1 (01:32:14):
Yeah, I think I think it'd be a good game.
I'm interested in the Commanders because I like all the
moves that made this offseason. But again, just like with Minnesota,
you have to ask yourself is this team for real
or was last year or fluke? And that's something that
they have to prove this year. But I think what
(01:32:35):
helps them though, I think what helps them that they
do play in the week division because outside of Philly,
I don't see anybody else in the division. But the
NFC as a whole is going to be tough. So
even to get a wild card, it's no guarantee.
Speaker 3 (01:32:48):
Yeah, yeah, Ye're not wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
And the bye week some weekend is going to be
Detroit Raiders, Rams, cod knows Seahawks and the Jaguars.
Speaker 1 (01:32:58):
I will say, as a Rams fans, perfect, perfect time
to get our barbie right in the middle of the season.
Speaker 2 (01:33:03):
Yeah, that's actually super to get it. I mean, that's
amazing to get it right there. Heading into week nine,
Thursday night game, we got the Ravens and the Dolphins,
and the one PM slate we got the Bears, Bengals,
Vikings and Lions should be a good one. Packers and Panthers,
(01:33:26):
Charges and Titans, Falcons and Patriots, Niners and Giants, Colts
and Steelers and the Broncos in Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:33:40):
Out of the only game that stands out to me
is just Vikings and Lions divisional matchup. When they played
each other in Minnesota, it was the Lions beat them
in our last second field goal. But then when they
played each other in Detroit to end the season, the
Lions blew them out. So hopefully it's a close game
that goes down to the wire and it's not a
(01:34:01):
blowout like the last time they played.
Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Yeah, it's crazy. Rams got two by weeks in a
row because.
Speaker 1 (01:34:07):
Oh yeah, they get the Saints.
Speaker 2 (01:34:09):
Yeah yeah, yeah, so they get they get two by
weeks in a row. At four, we got the Rams Saints.
Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
Well people, people are saying that the Rams want to
trade up for arch Men. That's why they got those
two first round draft picks, so they might want to
lose to the Saints just to help their chances.
Speaker 3 (01:34:25):
And they're not losing this game. They can even lose
this game if they tried.
Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
Now we got the Jaguars and the Raiders, the Bills
and the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (01:34:34):
That'd be good. That's gonna be where all the Raidings
died for.
Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
Yeah, a rematch, a rematch of the AFC Championship game.
And I don't know this. This rivalry is weird because
Buffalo always beats Kansas City in the regular season, but
Kansas City always beats him in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:34:50):
Can't They just can't beat them in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:34:52):
No, like I think they said that Josh Allen in
his career has only lost to Kansas City and Cincinnati
in the player. If the Bills can avoid Kansas City
and Cincinnati, they'll make the Super Bowl. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Problem is they can't. They gotta beat one of them. Yeah,
So so it's not it's not happening anytime soon. The
eight PM game a little bit underwhelming, is I mean,
unless we see Milroe. But we're gonna see the Seahawks
and the Commanders at eight, followed by the Monday night matchup,
which is gonna be the Codinals in Dallas, and the
(01:35:26):
bye weeks are going to be the Browns Jets filling
in Tampa. Anything you want to talk about there.
Speaker 1 (01:35:32):
Now, I think to me that the two primetime games
are very underwhelming. I'm surprised Kansas City and Buffalo didn't
get one of those prime time slots. Seattle. I think
Seattle and Arizona they're gonna be buning out for last
place in the NFC West. So I have no idea
why both of those teams are in prime time. Obviously,
you understand the Cowboys because the Cowboys are the Cowboys.
(01:35:54):
But Arizona and Seattle. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
Thursday, we got Denver and the Raiders, followed by another
believe London game. No Germany, No Germany, Yep, we got
the Falcons and the Colts going to Germany.
Speaker 1 (01:36:14):
That I guess once once, once again the Falcons on
a big stage. They they must really love Michael Pink's
I think you may either that or they think the
Falcons are gonna be really good this year.
Speaker 3 (01:36:24):
I think they could so far.
Speaker 1 (01:36:25):
Yeah, so far, the Falcons have got more prime time
games than any of the team that I've seen.
Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
Yeah, they've They've definitely got a lot. Followed by the
one pm games. We got the Bears and the Giants,
Dolphins and Bills, Ravens and Vikings be a good one,
the Browns and Jets, Pats and Buccaneers, the Saints, Carolina
and Carolina, and the Jaguars versus the Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:36:55):
Again, none of those games really really tickled me to me.
It is interesting though that the Giants and the Bears
play each other. We'll talk about this later, but the
Giants and the Bears have the two hardest schedules in
the NFL, so one of them have to win. But
outside of that, it's just kind of like, whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
Yeah, I agree, the four PM games don't get much better,
well one of them, Yeah, yeah, we do, we do.
So I've seen Arizona Seattle was like, all this week's
going bad. But we got Arizona Seattle to beat up
on each other. We got the Rams and Niners, so
all the NFC West to play in each other that week.
(01:37:38):
And then we have Detroit and Washington, which is another
good game for followed.
Speaker 1 (01:37:43):
Let's gonna be a revenge game, a revenge game for
the Lions and the Lions. Lions fans they're saying like, look,
if you was healthy, you would have beat you on
the playoffs. So this is their chance to prove that.
Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
You're absolutely right.
Speaker 2 (01:37:56):
And then we got the Steers and Charges with another
primetime game.
Speaker 1 (01:38:01):
Yeah, it's gonna be a it's gonna be a Steelers
home game.
Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
Rogers hates the NFL right now. He looked at the schedule, like, yo, bro,
who told on me?
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
Who told? Who told damn to me?
Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
That Packer That Packers game. That's that's the one that
that that's the tailor right there.
Speaker 2 (01:38:18):
He got the ace of the whole because if he
decides to retire, the NFL is gonna have to pull
a lot of swaps going on because they're gonna be
moving a lot of Steelers games off prime time. So
he does still got their number right now, They don't.
They don't got the last laugh if they if he
wants it. But we have Monday, Philly and green Bay,
followed by I obviously let the Bible so Bengos Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (01:38:41):
Well, I will say, though, what's interested about Philly and
green Bays That green Bay is the team that went
up to the NFL, so we need a band the
tush push, And I know, I know they voted against
banning it, but it is interesting that green Bay is
the team that wants to ban it, and they get
to play each other and it also comes up and
sell greats because Philly beat green Bay in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
Yeah, I agree, We'll see how that goes.
Speaker 1 (01:39:08):
They I feel like, what's what's your opinion on that? Though?
Like what do you make of a team saying like, hey,
we need to we need to ban this player because
we can't stop it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:16):
Yeah, I'm I hate the toush push, but I'm completely
against band in it. You gotta just find a way
to stop it. That's that's how it works. Like, I
also don't want to see every team using it because
it's like the most boring playing football. Yeah, but I mean,
I guess I never would vote against band in any
(01:39:39):
play unless it's like some illegal ship, you know what
I'm saying. So I would vote against it, and I
do have I guess we could do an episode on
that strictly.
Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
I have some ideas how to defend it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:53):
You know, I'm also not a genius, so I feel
like some of these coaches just need to do their
job better. You need that have dudes signed specifically for
that package. You need big bodies, multiple big bodies, specifically
three four of them to pile up the middle where
there's no room to get an inch and they're not
(01:40:13):
going backwards. And it's sad to say, but you might
have to sign players specifically for that play.
Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
They might not even be on the field for anything.
Speaker 1 (01:40:25):
I think that's Tampa. I think it's with Tampa did
because they drafted a kid that's like four hundred and
forty pounds. He's like the largest player in the NFL
history they drafted.
Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
Now, I think just for that play, you put him
in the center, and if you can't move him backwards,
and the Senate's going backwards, it automatically ruins your play, right,
so it stops there. Then the guy on the right
and left of him got to be so big that
there's no inch for you to get there.
Speaker 3 (01:40:54):
Like you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:40:55):
Now, these guys probably ain't gonna be able to be
on the field all the time. But if you want
want to stop a play in the biggest moment, you
gotta have those type of guys, you know, Like, I mean, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:41:05):
My only my only thing is I think it makes
Green Bay look bad by them, even like bringing the
idea of banning that play.
Speaker 2 (01:41:12):
Yeah, I also think that maybe once in a while
the play deserves its own setus. How can I say this, right?
Speaker 1 (01:41:21):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
For example, I get diving over a pile in most circumstances,
specifically for fill goal circumstances, is not allowed, right, right,
but you can use it in that play.
Speaker 3 (01:41:38):
I mean, there's there's there's things that you need to do,
like if you have if.
Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
You have you know, three big you know, three fifty
plus people or three hundred plus people in the middle
of that line, right, that's the main right of left spot.
Jalen Hurts, and any quarterback is going to go unless
they get outside of that right and you have two
outside back is jumping that jumping that pile. I mean,
(01:42:05):
I don't think he's gonna he's not gonna want to
do it no more once his head get cleaned off
a couple of times. It's just how it's gonna work.
You know, he's gonna start thinking about running, he's gonna
start doing slides in the back of the field because
you're gonna see two linebackers flying over that pile. And
you're gonna see three big men standing in front of
you going backwards because the men in front of them
(01:42:26):
are bigger than them.
Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
It just it will blow the play up.
Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
It's like you you just you learned the NFL learned
how to blow up plays to stop Derrick Henry from
getting one yard and you can't stop Jalen Hurts. So
stop crying and stop it. That's just my opinion.
Speaker 1 (01:42:46):
I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
I can't get behind get behind you. It's like telling
the dude he's catching too good, like, come on, man,
it's silly, but we do.
Speaker 3 (01:43:00):
We do need an episode on that alone.
Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
We got to give them at least like a twenty
minute episode strictly on the Toush push, and we're gonna
promote this shit out of it.
Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
For like, there'll be a lot of viral moments in
that episode, but we.
Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Might piss off a lot of Package fans.
Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
Don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:43:17):
I mean, I might even throw in that Jordan loves
overrated and overpaid in that segment.
Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
So I mean we'll go all the way there, don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
Now Week eleven, the Thursday night game probably waste the
time potentially or could be really good.
Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
So we're looking at Jets and Patriots. I like the rivalry.
Speaker 2 (01:43:40):
I've worked in Jellett Stadium that the environment is like
no other when the Jets come in there, like the
Jets side of the clubost and the Patriots side of
the clubost. It's those the best games at that stadium.
They literally they have wars, but fun war is good
(01:44:01):
times over there. So I think this would be a
good game. Do you have any thoughts on on how
say going back and maybe you know these a few
good ones, but it seems like most Thursday Night games
through eleven weeks have been pretty mediocre.
Speaker 1 (01:44:18):
Yeah, I agree, and I think this is another one.
It all depends on what the ricory is at this point,
at this point of the season. I mean, we could
live and we're already in November towards the end of
the season, but this, this could easily be a game
you could just skid.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
Yeah, fair to say, then the Dolphins in Washington are
actually playing in.
Speaker 3 (01:44:41):
Spain another like a national game, Yeah, but a game
like this.
Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
I mean, this is what I was kind of touching
on in the beginning, Like, I'm sure if you've never
been to Spain and you're in the NFL and they
tell you, yo, you're going to that's that's probably dope,
you know what I I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
So that's I get it.
Speaker 1 (01:45:03):
Do you think they scheduled all these international games because
they just voted on them allowing them to play flag
football and the Olympics?
Speaker 2 (01:45:14):
I don't know, man, I would probably say it's more
they're probably getting big bags to go to these places.
That would probably be my guess. I don't I don't
know if the NFL kids too much about that. I mean,
obviously it's an accomplishment for football players to just be
(01:45:36):
in the Olympics, but I doubt it. Bro I think
they would have been doing this, and it's probably going
to continue to get worse. Not I mean, it's obviously
great for the countries, but I think this is just
the beginning. Like eventually, they're probably twenty five percent of
the games to be international, and they're trying to touch
that international market. Like I out here, football is dominant worldwide,
(01:46:02):
Soccer is dominant, you know what I'm saying, Like football
is probably that they're trying to They're just trying to
cross over, and I don't see it stopping. But the
one one pm games we have Falcons and Panthers, Bucks
and Bells, Texans and Titans, Bears, Vikings, Packers, Giants, Pittsburgh
(01:46:26):
and Cincinnati. Another one pm game from Pittsburgh and Jacksonville
and the Chargers. Do you hear anything you'd like that
I don't want to touch on.
Speaker 1 (01:46:35):
Not really interesting Chargers at Jacksonville one pm game. The
Charges historically struggle on one pm or one pm East
Coast games, which is ten o'clock in the morning West Coast.
The Charges historically going all the way back to win
Philip Rivers this quarterback. They always struggle in those games.
So it might be a win for Jacksonville we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
I think that I think the Charges second well second
year with Haba. I expect the Chargers to make more
noise this year than they did last year. They're one
of my They're one of my sleeper teams that potentially
and I'm not gonna go on a cliff and say
they're making it, but their potential Super Bowl sleeper.
Speaker 1 (01:47:18):
I think the question for them is justin Herbert. He's
he's a quarterback that has struggled in the playoffs and
so he has to kind of get over that at home.
For all the talent that he has, he should be
better in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:47:36):
I think I think that this would be the year though.
Now the four PM games, we have the Rams and
Seahawks kicking off, which that would be good, and we
have Arizona and San Francisco, so the NFC West playing
each other yep, and both at four. Then we have
four to twenty five Baltimore in the Browns. Don't need
(01:47:58):
to talk about that. The Chiefs, Chiefs and Broncos. If
Sanders is starting, we might end up being something to
talk about. But if not, nothing to talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:48:10):
Yeah, Chiefs Broncos. Broncos always played the Chiefs tough.
Speaker 2 (01:48:13):
That's gonna that's gonna be a good game. That's probably
gonna be the game of the week, even though we
have the two NFC West games going on, and we
have the Egos in Detroit playing Sunday night.
Speaker 1 (01:48:26):
Yes, we talked about earlier. Depending on how the seedings
work out, it's gonna be a potential NFC championship game
for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:48:35):
And then Monday we have the Raiders and Cowboys with
only two bye weeks Week eleven, which is gonna be
the Colts and Saints, another kind of underwhelming Monday Night game.
I do expect the Raiders and maybe be like an
eight nine win team, but I don't know what's up
(01:48:58):
with these Monday night games. Bro Dallas should beat them.
I'm assuming Dallas would be good.
Speaker 1 (01:49:07):
Well, according to Troy, they they're gonna win the Super
Bowl this year.
Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
Well, Pickings better get it together. They got a good team.
I don't dislike their team. I guess it's just kind
of just see they're one of those teams that just
underachieved all the time. You know, all there's certain teams
that overachieved, they just always underachieve, and it is the.
Speaker 1 (01:49:31):
Reason why they're underachieve is because people are unrealistic when
it comes to the Cowboys. Every year, we're led to
believe that the Cowboys are either gonna go to the
Super Bowl or win the Super Bowl. Yeah, those are
high expectations. I don't care which team you are, that's
high expectations. So it's like, even if you make the playoffs,
(01:49:52):
if you don't win the super Bowl, you underachieved for
that year. Win.
Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
They're doing it to Josh Allen right now.
Speaker 1 (01:50:00):
The bet right now, I don't understand that. Like, you know,
the Cowboys or quote unquote America's team and they have
like the that No, they have like the history and
all this other stuff, but like they've been irrelevant now
for the last thirty years and you have to go
all the way back to the nineties. And I know
we talked about it last week and kind of joked
about it, but I'm sorry to believe in the curse
(01:50:21):
of JJ. Yeah, they haven't been they haven't been good
since they fired Jimmy Johnson.
Speaker 3 (01:50:26):
I agree too.
Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
And the one thing I will say, and this ain't
because I'm in New England, the Patriots American's team right now,
it's this is not the Cowboys no more.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
And I and I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
I'm not a Pats fan. So you you listen, this
is a few reasons why, right that bringing up their
stars on the flag shit is old. Y'all haven't won
in thirty years. The Patriots won more than you, and
it's modern.
Speaker 3 (01:50:55):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:50:56):
They also have a Patriot on their fucking helmet, right,
they also have they also have the America colors on
this ship.
Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
If the Cowboys fans still.
Speaker 2 (01:51:06):
Believe your silver and blue helmet it represents America's team,
you're just as delusion as the people that keep saying
you're gonna win super Bowls.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
Well, and not only that, but like, look at the
teams in their look at the teams of their division.
The Giants have won two super Bowls in the last
like fifteen years. The Eagles have won two super Bowls
in the last ten years. Washington's getting better.
Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
They're just wanted.
Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
You know, there's like some people that just hang on
this stuff that's just not true anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:51:37):
It's just not true. Yeah, yeah, it's just been factually
proven wrong now, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
And and that's any any cowboys, Like I have a
few cowboy friends people that are like good friends of mine.
They they don't say that the Cowboys are America's team
no more. It's not the nineties. It's like, just look
across the team.
Speaker 3 (01:52:00):
Let me just give you example.
Speaker 2 (01:52:01):
Take every football helmet and in every football name, just
the helmet in the name of the team to another
country and tell them to guess which one is America's team.
I bet you I know which one they pick. It's
it's not gonna be it's no, I'm saying not with
no knowledge of football at all, I'll do you one better.
(01:52:24):
Bring the throwback Patriot's helmet and and sit it next
to the other helmets and be like, hey, guys, which
which helmet do you think, not knowing nothing about football,
which one do you think is America's team.
Speaker 3 (01:52:38):
It's the one with the Patriot on it. Yeah, it's
the colors. It has the colors.
Speaker 2 (01:52:44):
It's like, so Dallas is living off off of something
that happened thirty years ago, and you're just that And
that the reason why then, And I remember when I
was younger, and this is why I clown a lot
of you know, Patriots fans now and in like the
late or say when the Cowboys and in the Niners
(01:53:07):
was winning mid nineties, right, everybody, even in Massachusetts because
I wasn't traveling and I was a little kid, everybody
was either a Niners or Cowboys fan. They both, I
guess at that point could have claimed there was America's
team because there's only two teams everybody liked, right, right,
(01:53:29):
it's over like there's no Cowboys fans in Massachusetts, maybe
one per city, like one.
Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
I mean, how many Cowboys?
Speaker 2 (01:53:38):
How many people you think out here really cheer for
the Cowboys after watching the Patriots win all those damn
Super Bowls?
Speaker 1 (01:53:45):
Shit? None?
Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
How many Eagles fans or how many Philadelphia fans that
grew up Cowboys fans? You think a Cowboys fans after
watching the Eagles t just annihilate them and win Super
Bowls the past ten ten years.
Speaker 3 (01:54:02):
Leaving they're going to their home team.
Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
So my point is in the nineties, every state like
the Cowboys in the nineties, and a lot of old
people probably won't admit it now, but the truth is
they did, right, But now thirty years later, you'll haven't won.
Your jackets ain't across the America no more. They're in Texas, right.
Speaker 1 (01:54:23):
Yeah, I mean and again even the Giants, Like we
can talk about how bad they are now, but I
mean the Giants during the many years were winning Super
Bowls and beating the Cowboys, and that's the team in
their own division.
Speaker 3 (01:54:36):
And this is what I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (01:54:38):
It's like, I'm not trying to even Hopefully the Cowboys
go on and do some great things going forward, but
can people please stop calling them America's team because they're
just not no more.
Speaker 3 (01:54:47):
It's like not even close.
Speaker 1 (01:54:49):
They're probably not top five, like you said, they're still
they're still living in They're still living off the nineties.
Speaker 3 (01:54:54):
Yeah, it's Jesus christ Man.
Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
Like, at least the forty nine ers are out there
fight in for rings every year.
Speaker 3 (01:55:01):
I know they thirty years, but they're trying the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (01:55:06):
At least they've gotten to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Yeah, the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (01:55:09):
I just can't say the same thing about you, bro,
Like I just can't use U using the definition the
Cowboys are a definition of money.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Grad that's there.
Speaker 1 (01:55:19):
Put it tea like this. The Lion, the Detroit Lions
have been one of the worst organizations in the history
of sports, not just football, but the history of sports.
And even they've had more success than the Cowboys, and
they've only been winning for the last like three years.
Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
Yeah, side of control.
Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
Yeah, but we will leave the Cowboys alone before before
they come, before they come flying through the windows or something.
But we have week twelve jumping off a good Thursday
night game. I expect Texans to be better this year
than they were last even though they was a playoff team.
But we got the Bills in the Texans going off Thursday.
(01:56:00):
What you think about that one?
Speaker 1 (01:56:02):
I think it'll be a good game. Houston always plays
Buffalo tough. I think, as a matter of fact, they
beat Buffalo last year.
Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
I think they might have You might be right after
double check that Sunday Sunday morning, Pittsburgh starts off at
one going versus the Bears, followed by the Pat Spangos, Giants, Detroit, Minnesota,
and Green Bay. I believe for the second time, Seattle
and Tennessee, the Chiefs and the Colts and the Ravens
(01:56:29):
and the Jets.
Speaker 1 (01:56:32):
The only game from that is just gonna be a
Vikings Packers. It's a huge division rival, it's always closed,
but outside of that, it's quite It's kind of uh.
Speaker 2 (01:56:45):
Yeah, it's a kind of a definitely a mid one
pm week. Thank god for red Zone because I don't
know if I could watch one of these games singlely.
Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
Nah. Yeah, the same year.
Speaker 2 (01:56:55):
Yeah, at four pm, we got the Raiders and Browns,
Cardinals and Jagged watch Jesus Christ part in my language,
and then we got the Cowboys and the Eagles, followed
by the Saints in Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
Those are the four to twenty five games.
Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
Yeah, this, this whole week is gonna be a Resizon
week because I can't see myself sitting there watching any
one of these games. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:57:16):
The game of the week is Sunday Night. It's going
to be the Rams versus the Bucks.
Speaker 1 (01:57:23):
Yeah, I mean I don't I don't know how good
Tampa's going to be. I think the Rams should win
this game pretty easily.
Speaker 3 (01:57:31):
I just never underestimate Baker. I did for a long time.
Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
I used to be go back to my page through
my Baker Mayfield quotes. Now I used to call them
Johnny Manziel two point zero and all types of shit.
It's crazy that the Rams revived his career and I
had to shut up this listen.
Speaker 3 (01:57:50):
How you how how how our team do that?
Speaker 1 (01:57:53):
To me?
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
It's crazy, but shout out to Baker. Now we got
the Monday Night game, which is the Panthers and the Niners.
I do expect this to be good. I know on
paper right now, a lot of people are not expecting
much from the Panthers. You know that I'm a little
bit higher on them than other people, So I do
believe that it'd be a good game. The bye weeks
(01:58:16):
is going to be the Broncos office charges and commanders.
What are you thinking about Sunday Night and Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:58:23):
I weishing me two good games. I'm with you. I
think Carolina might surprising people, but I mean it's start
withally a sixty matchup. I expect the Niners to win.
Speaker 3 (01:58:37):
Yeah, I agree. Week thirteen we're in for a crazy one.
Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
Yes Thanksgiving, Yes, sir, Thanksgiving weekend, so we're getting the
Turkey Day games, and we got three good ones we
got Obviously we know what teams always play, but we
have the package in the Lions going off at one,
the Chiefs and the Cowboys at four point thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:59:01):
And I think of the NFL schedule that game because
it'll be Patrick mahomes first time playing on Thanksgiving, so
they're trying to get the they're trying to get they're
trying to get the ratings and the money for this
game because you have Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, you know,
we're gonna see Taylor Soft like a hundred times and
doing this game. And of course you got the Cowboys, so.
Speaker 2 (01:59:22):
That's if you gambled at the over on how many
times of the show are always And then you got
the Sunday night game Sunday excuse me, Thursday night game
on Thanksgiving, which by this point you should have your
you know, a couple.
Speaker 1 (01:59:40):
Yeah, that might be the game of the day.
Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
Yeah, it's gonna be the Bengals and the Ravens. I
do believe that.
Speaker 2 (01:59:46):
And at this point we're thirteen. This is gonna have
a lot of division complications into it, so we'll we'll
see how that goes, but that probably will be the
game of the week. And it's also we're getting blessed
week thirteen because we also have a Friday game I'm
jumping off on Amazon Prime, which is gonna be the
Bears and the Eagles. At that point we should definitely
(02:00:09):
know what the Bears are about.
Speaker 5 (02:00:12):
Probably be a blowout, but well, yeah, for me though,
I think this the way the NFL schedule, this is
pretty smart because you have Packers Lions playing each other
on Thanksgiving, and you have Cincinnati Baltimore playing each other
on Thanksgiving, and both of those games could be very
important as far as not only the division but also
(02:00:33):
playoff seaton as we headed to the last month of
the season.
Speaker 3 (02:00:38):
I agree. I agree.
Speaker 2 (02:00:41):
The Sunday one pm games we have the Browns and
Niners looks a little bit underwhelming. There, Titans and Jags, Texans, Colts, Saints, Dolphins, Falcons, Jets, Cardinals, Buccaneers,
and the Rams and Panthers, which sounds like a trap game.
Speaker 1 (02:01:03):
If not for the Rams Panthers game, I'll say this
is another red zone, uh time.
Speaker 2 (02:01:07):
Slot unless sure believe it's the AFC West. That's like
the AFC West.
Speaker 1 (02:01:16):
Fan, the AFC South, the AFC South for each other.
Speaker 2 (02:01:21):
I was just about to say that not even West
unless you're an AFC South fan.
Speaker 3 (02:01:26):
It's not.
Speaker 2 (02:01:28):
Yeah, it's definitely might not even be. This might be
a sleep week Jesus.
Speaker 1 (02:01:33):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:01:33):
No four pm games we have Seattle in Minnesota, Pittsburgh
and Buffalo and the Raiders and Charges followed by Sunday night,
which is going to be the commanders in Denver.
Speaker 1 (02:01:45):
Yeah, it seems like for this week the NFL put
all this best games on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (02:01:50):
Yeah, they definitely did that Washington Denver game. I think
will be a good one. And then Monday we have
the Patriots and Giants.
Speaker 1 (02:02:01):
That's just the NFL's that's just the NFL's excuse to
talk about the helmet catch.
Speaker 3 (02:02:05):
That's what I was gonna say.
Speaker 2 (02:02:07):
They're gonna relive Patriots beat them twice in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (02:02:11):
They're gonna make the Giants the Giants Giants.
Speaker 3 (02:02:14):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:02:15):
Giants beat them twice in the Super Bowl. You know
that's all in their hair during that game, ruined the
undefeated season and all that, all that good stuff. Speaking
of the Giants, did you see if Michael straight Hand said.
Speaker 3 (02:02:28):
About Aaron Donald.
Speaker 1 (02:02:31):
I deny, I missed it.
Speaker 3 (02:02:33):
I'll send it you after.
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
But they was on the panel and there was, you know,
a bunch of football players talking, I'm not sure a podcast,
and they asked who is the best interior alignment of
all time defensive right, and someone said Reggie White, and
someone else was going to say something then straight Hand
cut him off. Was like, said that he was talking
(02:02:55):
to who do you say he was talking to it
with somebody another, Oh, how we long to me? And
how he was talking the other day. He said, Aaron
Donald's the best, best defensive player, best defensive and roline
now all the time. Dude, dude, they named warn Someone
said warfore.
Speaker 1 (02:03:11):
I was gonna say, because Warren Sap, who's in the
Hall of Fame, but he's always considered as the best terrier.
And he even he himself said that he thought Aaron
Donald's better than him.
Speaker 2 (02:03:22):
Yeah, now, this is funny that somebody said Warren Sap
right and straight hair and went to, you know, give
Sap his his props. And then he was like, you
know what, man, don't disrespect Aaron Donald's.
Speaker 1 (02:03:39):
Is a sap and straight hand. Still beefing.
Speaker 2 (02:03:42):
I don't know, but he went to say something good
about him, and then he just was like, you know what,
He's like, don't don't disrespect Aaron Donda man, Like I
was like, come on, what are we doing it?
Speaker 1 (02:03:51):
Because I know I know those two they've been beefing
since the nineties.
Speaker 2 (02:03:55):
Yeah, I know, but he still respects his game, you
know what I'm saying. So it is what it is
now go by Aaron shout out to the goat Aaron Donald.
I wish we had a chance with him coming back,
but I know that's not likely. Now Week fourteen, Thursday,
I mean, Dallas and the Lions usually always have a
(02:04:17):
good game.
Speaker 1 (02:04:18):
I feel like it's interesting that the week after Cowboys. Yeah,
the Cowboys and Lines get two back to back Thursday games. Yeah,
I know, I and I disagree with you because about
Cowboys Lions always having good games. Last year of the
Lions whooped Dallas ass. They were throwing. They had Jared
Goff throwing fade routes to the offensive lineman, score throwing.
(02:04:41):
It was just embarrassing them.
Speaker 3 (02:04:43):
Was dak in for that game, Yeah he was.
Speaker 1 (02:04:46):
As a matter of fact, Aiden Hutchison Broker's leg second death,
Oh yeah yeah, de Troy. They were just like embarrassing Dallas,
like they're running hooking ladders to the old Lions old lineman,
throwing fade routes to the old lineman.
Speaker 2 (02:05:00):
Well, we'll see, we'll see how this one goes, see
if Dallas gets their revenge. But Sunday one pm games
look like this, No, not too many decent ones, but
we have we have the Seahawks and Falcons, Titans and Browns,
Bears package Commander's vikings should be decent. Dolphins, Jets, Saints, Buccaneers, Coats, Jaguars,
(02:05:26):
and Stealers and Ravens.
Speaker 1 (02:05:32):
I mean, there's some good games there. I think, uh,
Washington Minnesota might be good. Obviously, Pittsburgh Baltimore is always
a good game. Chicago green Bay that would be interesting
because Chicago last year screwed green Bay over because Chicago
beat green Bay the last game of the season, and
(02:05:52):
had green Bay won that game, green Bay would have
been the sixth seed and then Washington would have been
the seventh seed, which is Washington would play Philly. Green
Bay would have played with Tampa. It's still Chicago won
that game, so Washington got to play Tampa and obviously,
as we know, they upsetted them. Green Bay had to
play Philly and green Bay loss and then decided to
(02:06:14):
complain to the NFL about the touch push.
Speaker 2 (02:06:16):
Yeah, I would say if if all right, so I
don't expect this. But this is the other side of
the coin of what we were saying earlier about Caleb.
What I was saying, I think he has some mental stuff,
like not calling the mental with me upstairs, stuff to
get together before he really takes the next step. I
don't expect it to happen this year, but if it does,
(02:06:40):
I could easily see the Bears being a team to
take a step forward and the Package being a team
to take a step backwards. So that game definitely could
be interesting. But it all comes down to Caleb, and
I don't want him to fail. I want him to succeed.
I just see certain things you're not just really don't
(02:07:00):
like that. I wouldn't want to be a teammate with
him personally, but these are.
Speaker 3 (02:07:06):
Going to be the games.
Speaker 1 (02:07:09):
What in fairness to Caleb though, Like so far his
teammates have supported him and they have all said positive
things about him, So I just I just think it's
it's more of a I do agree with you, but
I think he just has to mature. I think that's
the word. He just he just needs to mature.
Speaker 2 (02:07:25):
I know, but I just feel like that that like
certain maturing I do expect when you get to the NFL. Yes,
that the stuff that he's doing, you should have got
got rid of that in college. Bro, Like, Like I
don't know, I just don't like you if you see
like how Daniels holds himself or Stroud held himself year
(02:07:48):
one compared to Caleb. And this ain't talent I'm talking
about just like the way they're carrying thisself. It is
night and day, bro like they're professionals. He just doesn't
seem like he's that yet.
Speaker 1 (02:08:02):
I definitely agree. Like I said, that's been the knock
on him since he was at USC.
Speaker 2 (02:08:08):
Sometimes it's so good that you don't understand that part.
But when you have all the talent and you get
the mental part, like he could, he could be really
really great, right But if right now you're already in
your twenties and you don't understand that, Hey, I don't
(02:08:28):
know if he's ever gonna we'll see. But the four
o'clock games, we got the Raiders in Denver, Bills in Bengos,
Rams and Cardinos, and Sunday Night Texans versus Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (02:08:42):
To me the highlight, there's gonna be a Bengals Bills
that should be a good matchup, that could be a
potential playoff matchup. I said this our last episode, and
I'll say I'll say it again. If Cincinnati's defense could
just be average, they don't have to be good. They
don't have to be top ten, top five, they just
(02:09:02):
need to be average. I think the Bengals will go
to the super Bowl this year. I agree, because their
offense is just that good.
Speaker 3 (02:09:10):
I mean I won't I.
Speaker 2 (02:09:11):
Won't fight against it. Rams versus Bengals again sounds good too.
Speaker 3 (02:09:16):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 2 (02:09:17):
And then I think the Chiefs and Texas will be
a good game as well. And then Monday night we
have the Chargers and the Eagles. I think this game
right now, people probably don't realize it, but I think
that'd be game be a lot closer than people expect.
Speaker 1 (02:09:31):
It's gonna be. It's gonna be another It's gonna be
a Philly home game.
Speaker 3 (02:09:34):
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:09:36):
And I will say too, I think Texans Chiefs, I
agree with you, things would be a good game. I
felt like Houston should have beat them in the playoffs. Obviously,
there's a lot of controversy with some questionable calls by
the reps in that game which costs Houston. So we'll
see how that plays out in this game.
Speaker 3 (02:09:53):
Yep, I agree.
Speaker 2 (02:09:55):
Week fifteen, we have a Thursday night matchup divisional rival.
Speaker 3 (02:10:00):
Versus the Bucks.
Speaker 2 (02:10:02):
Going into Sunday for the one PM games, Browns, Bears, Ravens, Bengos,
Charge's Chiefs for the second time around, Bill's Pats, Washington
and the Giants, Raiders and Egos, Jets and Jaguars, along
with the Cardinals and Texans.
Speaker 1 (02:10:21):
To me, the best game is gonna be Baltimore Cincinnati.
Uh those when they do the two times they played
each other last time, both Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson
pro on the show. It was kind of like, whatever
you could do, I could do better, and both games
came down to the wire. So I think it's gonna
be interesting. And again I'll say it again. If Cincinnati's
(02:10:44):
defense could just be average, I think they have the
chance this year.
Speaker 3 (02:10:49):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (02:10:50):
I definitely agree for Baltimore, though I think well, but again,
we talked about Justin Herbert earlier struggling in the playoffs.
Mark Jackson is the same thing. At some point he
has to take that next step. Like the way he
plays in the regular season, He's gotta play that way
in the playoffs too and take that next step.
Speaker 3 (02:11:09):
I would agree with that.
Speaker 2 (02:11:12):
As far as the four o'clock games looks like that,
all four five on Week fifteen, Yeah, all for twenty
five games. So we're gonna have the Packers and Broncos,
the Lions and the Rams circle that one, Panthers in,
the Saints, the Titans in, the Niners, Colts in Seattle,
(02:11:35):
and Sunday Night the Cowboys versus Minnesota. Minnesota gets another
primetime game.
Speaker 1 (02:11:41):
Well in Dallas gets into the primetime game as well.
To me, the highlight out of that is gonna be
Detroit in LA. Obviously, we're gonna it's gonna be a
whole week of hearing Sean McVay talk about how you
handled the Jared Goff situation poorly, and we're gonna hear
the comparisons who won the trade was the Rams and
(02:12:02):
the Lions, Jared god versus Matthew Stafford're gonna hear all
of that. Yep.
Speaker 2 (02:12:07):
And it's almost I want to add it not for
that game because I agree with all that I want
to add in. It's almost like the NFL doesn't realize
that Minnesota could suck.
Speaker 3 (02:12:16):
It's almost like they don't like.
Speaker 1 (02:12:18):
Yeah, I mean again, I understand, Minnesota had a great
year and the only difference between last year and this
year is their quarterback. But we don't know what JJ
McCarthy's going to be You can't assume that. Yeah, and
Sam Donald player out of the.
Speaker 2 (02:12:39):
Like, I don't know, man, can you find a reasoning?
Can you find it in there why they got so
many primetime games? You got to have some insight here
because I can't find it.
Speaker 1 (02:12:49):
I have no idea, like I said, like I said
about Atlanta, because Atlanta has a lot of prime time
games too. They must really love JJ mccarthur, or they
think JJ McCarthy's gonna be really good. That's the only
thing I could think of, was just like with Atlanta.
I know with Atlanta, I don't see it, but they
must really see something in Michael Pennis or they just
think the Falcons could be really good to see.
Speaker 2 (02:13:09):
But I could look at the Falcons and say, look it,
I've seen Panics for a few games, and he's older,
he played good last year.
Speaker 3 (02:13:17):
He should be better than last year.
Speaker 2 (02:13:20):
Old line is decent, v Jon Robinson is special, right,
Drake London, Kyle Pitts, The defense is okay, the Vikings
now bring it. I like Aaron Jones agent. I mean
he's at that age. Rae, at any point you could
(02:13:41):
off a cliff right your receivers is good. Your quarterback
is unknown. Like I don't I don't see all the
weapons over there that I see on these other teams.
Speaker 1 (02:13:55):
And I'm not like one of the minist normally. I
will say this Minista normally every year has the top
ten defense. But other than that, I don't know. I guess.
Speaker 2 (02:14:08):
I guess, like you said, they must be extremely high
on j J. And mind you, I am too, but
not enough to put him on this many primetime games.
Speaker 4 (02:14:17):
Now.
Speaker 3 (02:14:17):
It's like, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:14:19):
Yeah, but even okay, I understand he got hurt in
the preseason, but even for going off college because he
played in that Jim hardball system where they just want
to run the ball forty times a game, we still
don't even know how good of a passer he is
based on what we say in college.
Speaker 2 (02:14:38):
Yeah, I've seen him make some amazing throws, but you're right,
it's not like you've seen him often, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:14:45):
Yeah, because I been in college, they were only throwing
the ball like maybe ten fifteen times a game. Yeah,
like Michigan was playing that nineteen seventies offense. We're just
going to run the ball forty fifty times a game.
Speaker 2 (02:14:56):
I didn't really watch that many Michigan games. Then I
went back watch highlights. I'm so granted they probably is
from a bunch of different games, but most of the
throws I seen him make. That wild meat was on
the run, so I know, like you know, rolling out
to the right of left.
Speaker 3 (02:15:12):
So he got that on.
Speaker 2 (02:15:13):
Now I've seen that part, but it's just about consistently
doing it. I haven't seen that, and he's not like
he was a gunslinger in college like you said. So
I guess we'll We'll just have to see how it goes.
But I think they might have gave them too many
primetime games.
Speaker 3 (02:15:34):
Dallas.
Speaker 2 (02:15:35):
I get the reasoning behind there, I don't. I don't
really get it. For Minnesota. I think that a lot
of these games, I think we're gonna quick prediction. I
believe the NFL will break a record this year flexing
games because I think a lot of these games are
gonna get flexed. Whatever was the whatever it was the
most games ever flexed. I might have to say, after
(02:15:58):
looking at the schedule, they're gonna double that amount this
shit because a lot of these games are gonna have
to get flex or.
Speaker 3 (02:16:05):
I mean, maybe they're raidings proof.
Speaker 1 (02:16:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:16:09):
We'll figure it out.
Speaker 2 (02:16:10):
But Week fifteen we have the Dolphins in Pittsburgh to
close it out on Monday.
Speaker 3 (02:16:16):
Do you have any thoughts about that?
Speaker 1 (02:16:19):
No, that's another game which just kind of meds like,
well whatever, And this is what I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:16:25):
I'm looking at some of these games and saying, I
don't know if that makes it as that Monday night game.
But we'll see how it works, because it's definitely harder
to flex like Sunday games. I believe it easier to
flex than like if you have a Monday or a
Thursday game, because it can throw off a lot more.
Speaker 3 (02:16:42):
But we'll see how this stuff goes.
Speaker 1 (02:16:45):
Yeah, Senday games are easier to flex because you just
switching the time.
Speaker 3 (02:16:49):
Yeah, you see what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (02:16:50):
Now.
Speaker 2 (02:16:51):
Week sixteen, the Rams in Seattle on Thursday. I'm not
complaining there.
Speaker 1 (02:16:57):
Yeah, I think the Rams should win that game easily.
Speaker 3 (02:17:00):
I believe so too.
Speaker 2 (02:17:02):
We have two Saturday games, which would be December twentieth.
Week sixteen, it's gonna be the package.
Speaker 1 (02:17:13):
I was gonna say two divisional games.
Speaker 3 (02:17:15):
Yep, and they and they didn't even drop the times yet, so.
Speaker 2 (02:17:22):
That's kind of awkward, but it's the Packers and Bears
and the Egos and Commanders, but there's been no times
officially dropped at them.
Speaker 1 (02:17:31):
I can see. I can see one game started at
five eastern and then the other games start like at
eight eastern.
Speaker 2 (02:17:37):
Yeah, I just don't know why they would wait for
that reveal. That's little, that is, that's a little interesting.
It's a smart honestly, a smart idea though.
Speaker 1 (02:17:50):
Well, in both games, both games could be on Fox too,
so maybe maybe Fox is trying to see like the
time slot.
Speaker 2 (02:17:58):
Yeah, it's and they're playing in the Bears rad home
and it looks like the Commanded stadium.
Speaker 1 (02:18:11):
The Commanders Commanders at home too.
Speaker 3 (02:18:15):
Their stadiums in Maryland.
Speaker 1 (02:18:17):
Yeah, that's that's been one of the controversies. So they
were they've been trying to they used to play in
d C. Oh, yeah, move to Maryland in the nineties,
and then they've been trying to move back to d C.
But the government in d c C like, no, we're
not gonna build your stadium unless you changed your name
because like you know, the whole Redskins thing. So now
(02:18:37):
that they changed the name, now they're gonna build a
new stadium in DC.
Speaker 3 (02:18:42):
Yeah, that's a, that's stupid place to have it. They
need to go back over there.
Speaker 2 (02:18:47):
But Sunday one PM we got the Browns and Bells,
Cowboys and Chargers, Titans and Chiefs, Saints and Jets, Giants
and Vikings, Bucks and Panthers, Patriots and Ravens, and that
would be all the one pm games.
Speaker 3 (02:19:04):
You see anything there.
Speaker 1 (02:19:06):
No, if that's a red zone special right there.
Speaker 3 (02:19:09):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (02:19:10):
Four pm don't look much different. Jaguars and Broncos, Falcons
and Cardinals, Stealers and Lions, Raiders and Texans, all regular
mediocre games. And then Sunday night we have the Bengals
and the Dolphins, followed by Monday the Niners and the Colts.
Speaker 3 (02:19:29):
Anything you want to touch on there.
Speaker 1 (02:19:31):
Now that the the Brontion games again, they're both mad.
I could see Cincinnati blowing out Miami and I could
see San Francisco blown out Indianapolis.
Speaker 2 (02:19:39):
They almost guaranteed that's what happens. Going into week seventeen,
we got three Thursday games similar to the.
Speaker 1 (02:19:49):
Oh yeah, because it's Christmas Day. Christmas on the Thursday
this year.
Speaker 2 (02:19:53):
Yep, similar to the the Thanksgiving setup. So one four
thirty eight of eight fifteen. The two first games are
gonna shoot off on Netflix. And Netflix did a real
good job last year actually streaming the games.
Speaker 1 (02:20:08):
Actually they did. They got better ratings on Netflix than
the NBA did on the ABC and the ABC is free.
Speaker 3 (02:20:15):
Yeah, that's this they did.
Speaker 2 (02:20:16):
Netflix did some a few times, like the Jake Paul thing,
he like broke their system. It just wasn't capable of
that or something, but they did. They've done some good
jobs lately on on some live streaming feeds.
Speaker 1 (02:20:30):
Now, is there like it's like a rule in the
NFL that the Cowboys and the Lions have to play
in every holiday?
Speaker 2 (02:20:38):
No, but I know that they have Thanksgiving contracts, so
maybe it is a holiday contract, I guess.
Speaker 1 (02:20:44):
So they gotta play on Christmas too.
Speaker 2 (02:20:46):
I didn't think that they had to, But I know
ever since I was a kid, that the Cowboys and
the Plaians have played on every Thanksgiving. In my life,
the Commanders and the Dolphins are probably the two most
other teams I've seen play on that day.
Speaker 1 (02:21:02):
Surprisingly, the Cowboys and Lions never played each other on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (02:21:05):
Yeah, no, because they're the two premier teams, so they
play versus someone else. When I was younger, they I
think that that they always before the week before or after.
If you notice this year they did it the week
after and they gave them the primetime game. They usually
put the Lions Cowboys game around that game though, like it. Yeah,
(02:21:26):
I mean so it would shootout one of the tunnels.
But they have one pm Netflix where you got the
Cowboys and Commanders and then you got Detroit in Minnesota
at four point thirty. These you're coming out, they're coming
out steaming Christmas Day, and then you have the Broncos
and Chiefs all division rivals, and that's on Amazon Prime.
Speaker 1 (02:21:49):
All all three games can all three games could potentially
decide all three of those divisions.
Speaker 3 (02:21:54):
Absolutely, this is what we're here for now.
Speaker 2 (02:21:58):
This is probably the most exciting we got seen so far,
and it's not a coincidence. Is the week that where
everything really matters, you know, Week eighteen, it's kind of
doesn't really matter for most people now Sunday, oh see
(02:22:18):
they have It's funny they don't have a whole schedule
for this week because they have six games and potential
flex mode you see them.
Speaker 1 (02:22:26):
Yeah, because it depends on it depends on the records
like Arizona, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Green Bay, New York's, Vegas, Houston,
and and I.
Speaker 2 (02:22:37):
Think they're gonna have to stop flexing before this, So
we'll see, we'll see if they even make it here.
Speaker 3 (02:22:43):
But the games they know that are going off.
Speaker 2 (02:22:45):
At one, we got the Steelers in Browns, Saints and Titans,
jaguarsn't Quotes, Bucks and Dolphins, Pats and Jets. At four,
they got Buffalo and Philly Sunday.
Speaker 1 (02:22:59):
Night potential Super Bowl metchup.
Speaker 2 (02:23:01):
For sure, Sunday Night Bears and Niners, Monday Night, Rams
and Falcons.
Speaker 1 (02:23:08):
You read game for the Falcons, yep.
Speaker 2 (02:23:11):
And the flex games like you read off Codnos, Bengals, Ravens, Package, Giants, Raiders, Texans, Chargers, Seahawks, Carolina.
None of those games have a time zone or a
time because their potential flex candidates. Do you want to
talk about any of these games, whether flexing or.
Speaker 1 (02:23:29):
Not, not really? I think the I think what the
NFL is telling us here is that these teams may
be good or they may not be good. So we
don't know what time start to put them in YEP.
Speaker 3 (02:23:45):
And there's no reason to.
Speaker 2 (02:23:46):
I mean, we go over the matchups week eighteen, but
the whole schedule is on flex flex alert.
Speaker 3 (02:23:52):
You see it right?
Speaker 1 (02:23:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:23:55):
Yeah, So we got Saints, Falcons, Jets, Bills, Lions, Browns, Bengals,
Chargers and Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders, Codos, Rams, Packets, Vikings, Dolphins, Pats, Cowboys, Giants, Commanders, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers,
(02:24:15):
Seahawks and Niners, Panthers and Buccaneers, Titans and Jaguars, Colts
and Texans. Every game is on flex alert. No time
has been put out for any of these games. We
do know where they're being played at, but like you
said that, it'd be due to playoff seaton whether you're
good or bad. Is there any games you want to
(02:24:36):
talk about Week eighteen that you think would when it
gets when it comes to the comedown? What do you
think are going to be the games you're going to
be looking at most Week eighteen that will actually still
determine stuff?
Speaker 4 (02:24:50):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (02:24:54):
Right now, I'll just say Washington and Philly. That might
be the game that might determine who wins that division
and playoff seed. Other than that game, uh maybe, yeah, Actually,
other than that game, I don't know, maybe Carolina Tampa Bay.
Both of us think Carolina is a sleeper team, so
(02:25:17):
that game could decide the division. But oh yeah, other
than those two games are not really I.
Speaker 2 (02:25:24):
See some things because the whole AFC South is going
against each other along with the NFC West. So you
have the Seahawks and Niners and Rams and Cardinals. I
think both of those could be in play if the
Rams don't run away.
Speaker 1 (02:25:39):
Well see if the Rams. If the Rams the Niners
are playing each other, I'll say yes.
Speaker 2 (02:25:44):
But the reason why I say cut you off is
say the Rams and Niners a tie at.
Speaker 3 (02:25:52):
Eleven wins or something. Oh yeah, okay, yeah, like not yeah,
so that's all like division winners.
Speaker 1 (02:26:00):
You if you look at the schedule though, all these
games with divisional games. So, I mean you could say
that about all these games.
Speaker 2 (02:26:06):
I know, but I don't expect most of these divisions
to be close, you know, like I do. I do
think the same thing with the AFC South. I'm kind
of sold on the Texas, but not all the way.
I mean, that's the one division where the bottom can
go to the top and the top could go to
the bottom.
Speaker 1 (02:26:25):
It's like to me, to me, the AFC South comes
down to two teams, the Jags and the Texans. It's
a week. It's a week. It's a week division, and
it's one of those it's one of those divisions where
you only need to win nine, nine or ten games
in your division champion.
Speaker 2 (02:26:43):
Yeah, because a lot of these other divisions, I guess
the next division I would say that maybe could have
a lot of implications, would be package Vikings over here.
Speaker 1 (02:27:02):
But see if Packers Vikings are important, and therefore.
Speaker 3 (02:27:05):
That that's what I was going to say.
Speaker 2 (02:27:09):
That's probably the only other division because I don't some
of these divisions. I think I probably could tell you
the winner right now and absolutely be right, you know,
but that those are probably the three three divisions where
I'm not one hundred sold on, Like Bills should win
their division, Chiefs should win their division, Egos will win.
(02:27:32):
There you kind of see where I'm going there, Like
if you don't, if you don't know who that number
one team is going to be, Week eighteen could be big.
It also may not be nothing, because we I mean,
a random might.
Speaker 3 (02:27:46):
Run away with it. Wasn't there something else you wanted
to touch on along with the schedule?
Speaker 1 (02:27:52):
Oh yeah, So I wanted to talk about the fact
that so now that we've gone over the whole schedule.
I wanted to get your opinion on two things. Yeah,
so the Giants have the hardest schedule in the NFL,
which surprised me because they were a last place team
last year, so you think you want to make it
easier for them, but so they made it harder for them.
(02:28:14):
I think the Giants and the Bears both have the
hardest schedules. So what's your opinion on the NFL given
the Giants and the Bears the two toughest schedules in
the league.
Speaker 2 (02:28:25):
Yeah, I don't like it, especially not with the Niners
getting the easiest schedule, because like the Niners weren't a
bad team, they were an injured team. They're yeah favorite
even right now, they're favored to win the division. So
how they favored to win the division yet got the
easiest schedule when the Bears and Giants are going to
(02:28:45):
be fighting for their life.
Speaker 3 (02:28:47):
It's complete bullshit. That's that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (02:28:50):
Especially the Bears and Giants were bad teams last year.
Speaker 3 (02:28:53):
That's that's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:28:54):
Like they're they're bad, You're I mean, you're basically reaping
benefits because you got injured and the teams that was bad,
don't get nothing. That's it, you know, So, nah, man,
like the NFL is supposed to be simple. You're the
worst team in the NFL, you get the top draft pick.
(02:29:15):
You shouldn't be a worst team in the NFL and
get one of the hottest schedules. Like it just shouldn't
even be something that's possible because it's not logical. Like
now you're getting into the NBA territory. You see what
I'm saying, Like, Nah, bro, I hate it. That's what
would be my answer. I think that those guys that
(02:29:35):
suck deserve to reap, and you shouldn't be benefited from
being bad.
Speaker 3 (02:29:41):
But they need it more, you know, like they need
even an easy schedule.
Speaker 2 (02:29:47):
They're not making the playoffs, Like there's no reason to
give a good team like a walk through schedule.
Speaker 3 (02:29:53):
It just there's no nothing logical. There few to tell me.
Speaker 1 (02:29:58):
Yeah. See as far as them even the Niners a
cupcake schedule. The old thing I could think of is
because the Super bowls in San Francisco, so maybe they
want the Niners to have home field advantage, so therefore
the whole playoffs go through San Francisco, and.
Speaker 2 (02:30:14):
That's where they just went the NBA's territory because we
know the only reason you did. That's not even like
you can question why they did. That's the only reason
why they would do that. Like you know what I'm saying,
So no, bro, like the Niners don't need help, like
they're not they you.
Speaker 3 (02:30:33):
Know what I'm saying. It's like.
Speaker 2 (02:30:35):
If you go out your way and do this for
a bad team, nobody would be talking about it like
you're giving you know, like, come on, bro, Like it's
like it's i mean, obviously they're not winning super Bowls,
but it's like, Bro, every year they're basically competing for them.
They haven't had an off year. They've not really been
bad unless they was injured. Right, what do we benefit
(02:30:58):
and like what do we what are they being rewarded
for exactly for being good and injured?
Speaker 1 (02:31:04):
Well, yeah, and you have to, like you said, get
the Bears and the Giants. There were like four win
teams last year. Yeah, I mean, looking at the Giants schedule,
they might be looking if they even win two games this.
Speaker 3 (02:31:14):
Year, Bro, I'm looking out look.
Speaker 1 (02:31:17):
I mean the Bears. The Bears, I mean, yeah, there's
juggle schedules were tough, but I might think the Bears
have a good enough squad that I think I could
see them winning a few of those games. But the Giants,
I mean they if they hadn't drafted Jackson Dark this year,
I said, they'd be in the burning for arch manon too.
Speaker 3 (02:31:35):
With their schedule, might still be in the running room.
I'll tell you the truth, be up there.
Speaker 1 (02:31:40):
Well be up there with Uncle Eli.
Speaker 3 (02:31:43):
I mean, because that that's the thing.
Speaker 2 (02:31:45):
If the Giants fall apart, maybe that they'll go the
arch Man the route and let Doc go. I mean,
the Rams might give you a fifth round pick next year.
What's up to move on?
Speaker 3 (02:31:55):
We if we miss, I'll give you a fifth room.
I'm down. I'm saying I think the Rams like that anyways,
So go ahead, built how about this.
Speaker 2 (02:32:06):
Hopefully the Giants get the number one pick and they're
not willing to trade it, so that way we can't
give away the house. If Man does come out, go
get it. Shout out to New York. I don't care.
Like I told you, I'm not mortgaging. But but I
hate I hate the fact they did that. Then there's
there's a few other teams that I think got got
(02:32:30):
a tough end of the stick to when it. When
it comes to the scheduling, they I thought they had
a system. I don't think they do now because they
like your draft, the NFL draft. Obviously we know the system.
They don't need to tell us. We know the order
of the draft. If you just know football, I feel
like it should be the same. With the schedule, the
(02:32:52):
whereast is normally.
Speaker 1 (02:32:53):
Normally, if you have a last place team, you play
a last place schedule. A first place team plays the
first place schedule. But you have the Giants and the Bears,
two less place teams, and they have the two hardest
schedules in the league.
Speaker 3 (02:33:06):
And that's what I mean. Did you do an NFL lottery?
What exactly happened?
Speaker 1 (02:33:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:33:11):
Like that's that's the part that you like through a
DIT It's like I thought I knew the answer to this.
The worst team gets the easiest schedule. How did this happen?
Speaker 3 (02:33:20):
Like I don't know? Like who put the heavy ball
in the in the in the machine? Like who rigged
this game? Like you know what I'm saying, right?
Speaker 1 (02:33:29):
Who did the Giants and the Bears piss off?
Speaker 3 (02:33:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:33:32):
Like what I like next year if the Giants go
oh in seventeen or whatever. Oen a, you know, seventeen
for the year, right, and then the draft starts and
they're like, yeah, they got the third pick in the draft.
Speaker 3 (02:33:43):
Don't don't what are we doing here? Like, don't, don't.
Speaker 2 (02:33:47):
Stop leaving little things in the air where you could
just decide who's going to get that first pick, because
I feel like, now it's like, let's let's try it
over here and see if they notice.
Speaker 3 (02:33:59):
We noticed.
Speaker 2 (02:34:00):
Motherfucker stop that, Yeah we noticed. We don't want to
see that shit no more. We don't want you playing
with the draft. We don't want you playing with common
sense things, because when it comes to sports, common sense works.
That's why they can't get the catch stuff right because
they got away from common sense.
Speaker 3 (02:34:19):
Your eyes tell you where the catches? Did he catch it? Yep?
Speaker 2 (02:34:21):
No. I never had a problem questioning anybody on a
football field if they caught it or dropped it.
Speaker 3 (02:34:27):
I've seen it. Now you got.
Speaker 2 (02:34:30):
Guys running around the field that don't even know where
the catches because you made it so goddamn complicated.
Speaker 1 (02:34:36):
Shit having the time. I don't even know what the
catch is because they say that, okay, he has to
catch the ball. But then he has to make a
football move. Then he has to make a football move,
but then he has to take like two steps for
it to be But.
Speaker 2 (02:34:48):
Daniel dudes catch the ball in the end zone and
only have it for one second, get it knocked out
their hand, and they'll call it a touchdown after Really
it makes no sense, bro, Like it literally doesn't make
no sense. I seen one time Calvin Johnson. This one
has started getting bad. He caught the ball, waved his
hand up and then when he was falling, wasn't falling
(02:35:10):
on the play, you know what I'm saying. After started
falling and just put the ball down to stop himself
from falling on the ground.
Speaker 3 (02:35:18):
Yeah, and there was that incomplete, Bro. I watched him
catch the ball.
Speaker 2 (02:35:22):
The catch was up there, like that's something else that
he's doing after like the catches already.
Speaker 1 (02:35:29):
Yeah, the same thing with the play in the in
the playoffs against the past.
Speaker 3 (02:35:34):
Terrible. One of the worst calls of all time.
Speaker 2 (02:35:37):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (02:35:38):
Like that, like literally if the definition of a caught
it out high point.
Speaker 4 (02:35:46):
Was fighting for more yards, even put an arm down
to reach for more yards. And and then yo, bro, listen,
the catches made when the ball hits you hands, not
when you're making a football move.
Speaker 3 (02:36:02):
This is where I already confused it. Because here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (02:36:05):
I could catch the ball right now and not make
one football move, but I still caught the ball. You
don't need to make a football move to catch the ball.
You just don't say, For example, say I catch the
ball right now on the sideline two feet and then
I instantly step out of bounds like this. I didn't
make a football move right but did I catch it?
Speaker 3 (02:36:25):
I did.
Speaker 2 (02:36:26):
You don't need to make a football move to catch
the ball. So if I catch the ball right here,
I put it away. Anything after should not matter because
I caught it here, I put it away. Now somebody
hits it out. Or if I'm turning, I lose control.
That's a fumble. Bro Like you caught the ball and
(02:36:46):
you lost control of it after you caught it. You're
just confusing it, like I catch it.
Speaker 1 (02:36:54):
What is you?
Speaker 2 (02:36:54):
Catching the ball with your hands? Have to do with
a football move. Your body has to be moving for
you to catch something someone throws.
Speaker 1 (02:37:04):
You go back to the rules. That should go back
to the rules that they had in the nineties, or
it was more it was simple. You cut the ball
to catch. And that's what I mean, making it more
complicated than it needs to be.
Speaker 2 (02:37:15):
That's what I mean when that common sense go out
the window, or go out the window. Someone throws something
to you, you catch it, you stand still like you're
catching with your hands.
Speaker 3 (02:37:25):
Nothing else supplies bro like it just it just doesn't.
Speaker 2 (02:37:29):
So if these get you, you know they I feel
like they put that that that got to make a
football move part into it. It's because for the people
that have have butterfingers. So when they catch the ball
and bring it down and someone taps it, you're gonna
have a bunch of these dudes that's gonna be fumbling
all over the place.
Speaker 3 (02:37:48):
But guess what.
Speaker 2 (02:37:51):
You're supposed to protect the ball, catch it and put
it away like someone's packing it out your hands.
Speaker 3 (02:37:56):
It should be a fumble. That's your fault. You caught it,
you fumbled it, like.
Speaker 2 (02:38:01):
Forget the football move shit, man Like, I don't want
to ran about that shit.
Speaker 3 (02:38:06):
It get me going.
Speaker 2 (02:38:07):
Remember I played wide receiver most like most of my
life for sports. I just retired from semi pro recently.
It's like, dog like, I don't understand how how you
got dudes hired that don't know where to catch it.
And then you got people in New York looking over
a screen on real time that could literally whistle in
(02:38:28):
anything and just consistently go back and forth on this
catch rule. It's ridiculous, but it just bles my mind crazy.
Other than the nonsense, Do you have any other stuff
