Speaker 1 (00:14):
Welcome everybody to the Mic an Ant Show. My name's
mab Ms. This is my co host, Inspector. And how
you doing, my brother.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm doing good, man. I like to hear that.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Man, I hate you.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
It's actually been hoty shipped out here to in Boston,
so you ain't the only one, but we ain't. We
ain't dealing with your level of heat. But let's dive
right in. Bro We got some NFL news. So Aaron
Rodgers is officially at Pittsburgh Steeler. We've talked about this
on other shows, we've seen it coming. What are your

(00:50):
thoughts on that?

Speaker 4 (00:53):
I mean, I think it's a good move for the
Steelers only because I mean, it's better than the alternative.
Just makes some Rudolph. But I don't they get fixed
their their problems. They they they I think they've they've
they've messed up maybe eight nine years ago by not
you know, preparing for being Roethlisberger's retirement. They didn't try to,

(01:16):
you know, draft somebody to kind of you know, either
learn or developed under being Roethlisberger.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
I think that's their biggest mistake.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I mean, you could say what you want about Daniel Jones,
at least the Giants tried after Eli the Steeler I mean,
and then the Chargers obviously with Justin Herbert going back
to that draft, that oh four draft class. But the
Steelers they just stuck with being Roethlisberger too long, and
they've been paying the prices ever since, even though he's
been retired now for about three four years. They just
been you know, just the musical chairs at their quarterbacks

(01:48):
and they gotta find their their quarterback of the future.
You've though, I've heard a lot of good things about
Will Howard, who they drafted in the sixth round.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Uh this year.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Well, they say he's a he's a winner, but I mean,
he was on a great team at Ohio State. I
don't know how much of it was him or just
the players around him. Because sicily has first round draft
kicks all over the place.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I think I think it'd be all right.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
He's not a bad quarterback, but I don't know if
I don't know if he's going to be the guy
to just take the ball and run. Yeah, I did
see that that. I'm not sure if it's true. It's
not even something I went out my way to fact check.
But supposedly Aaron Rodgers is advocating for Marie Cooper. For

(02:34):
the Stellers to sign of Marie Cooper. I do think
that would be a good signing for them, But I
guess we'll see how this experiment goes. I expect them
to just be like a nine maybe maybe ten one team,
possibly sneaking to the playoffs, or it could go real bad.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
But I expect like nine ten wuns now.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I mean, Mike Tomlin never has to lose the season.
But I'm with you. I don't don't see him being
any better than they were last year with Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Last year with Russell Wilson.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
They were about nine ten games, and I can see
him do the same thing this year. I still think
in that division, Baltimore Cincinnati is still better than them.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah, but Cincinnati does have the ability to just fall
apart sometimes.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
So there's that Cincinnati is that for them. The season
doesn't start in November.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yeah, fair to say.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Well, one other question, well not one other question, but
another NFL question I've seen floating around. Do you think
that the Tampa Bay Bucks should retire Brady's number and
make him a statue at the stadium.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Me personally, I say no, He didn't play there long enough.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I make it short and sweet too. I would say no,
and that's just a short and brief answer.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
I mean, like you here in LA we had a
similar conversation with the Lakers and Lebron, and I tell
people that when you think Lebron, you don't think of Lakers.
You think of the Calves. If the Calves want to
build them statute cool. But I can't see the Lakers
doing it. The same thing with Brady, I can't. I
can't see the Bucks doing it. Yeah he did with
him as a Super Bowl but he was only there.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
For three years.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah that Lebron.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Ye, I feel like you got to bring at least two,
but my I would say three, but at least two.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Now.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
My thing is, though, like when you when you say
that person's name, like, what's the first team you think of?
And when I think of you say Tom Brady, the
first thing that pops in my mind is the Patriots,
not the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
To say, years from now, a lot of people probably
don't remember he played for the Bucks outside of if
they really deep dive on No No Football now going
the same same division as the Bucks, I'm true. Bahamad
says that the Panthers goal is to win the Super
Bowl this year.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Are you buying or you selling?

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I'm selling, but I mean that's I think it's everybody's
goals is to win the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
But I'm selling.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
But I do think that they could be a sleeper
playoff team. We talked about it. Know, the NFC South
is one of the weakest divisions of football, and all
it takes is like nine wins to win that division,
and the way Carolina ended the season last year, hopefully
that mentum carries over and I think they can compete.
I still think it's gonna be a three horse race
between them, Atlanta and Tampa. But I think the first

(05:27):
team that nine wins in that division is gonna win it,
and I think Carolina is a strong chance.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, They're definitely my sleeper playoff pick.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I'm definitely selling super Bowl super Bowl aspirations, I know.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
But one thing, though, I mean, what do you expect
him to say?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
So, yeah, we're not gonna We're not expecting them go
to Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I mean, I guess there's some players that keep it
a little bit more realistic and just say one game
at a time or something. But I mean, he the
need that he wanted to go out there and go
on the limit. Say that maybe he thought it would
motivate people more. Will see how it goes. Sometimes putting
those big goals on on the team, sometimes it causes

(06:14):
the collapse. But I think they'll be all right this year.
I think that their main focus should just be on
Young getting better. That's just my personal opinion, and I
do want to see Tech mc millan see what he
could do.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
I was gonna say like that they're they're committed to
Bryce Young because not only do they spend their first
round pick on a wide receiver, but they also resigned
Andy Dalton because Bryce Young said that, you know, one
of the people that helped him, you know, with his
career resurgers is Andy Dalton's been like a huge mentor
to him. So they're putting everything around him to make

(06:47):
him better, make him grow, even bringing back his mentor
who he got benched for last year.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
But it was a wake up call that he needed.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
And also too big ups to Andy Dahalt because Andy
Dalton could have handled that situation and a lot worse, know,
being elevated from backup to starter to back up again,
but he kept no, he knew.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
He knows his job as the mentor the kid, and
that's what he's been doing.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I think I think they're going to surprise some people
this year with that division, outside of the Saints, which
they have a chance to surprise the people too, But
I do believe that they will be that.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
I think I think the Saints are in the running
for Archie.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Many possibly, but I think there'll be one, two possible.
I think there'll be at least two teams that get
the double digit wins in that in that division, and
I think there'll probably be a team that gets to nine.
But I don't think they'll be the worst division in
football this year. I think that they'll they'll be one
of the teams that I'm one of the divisions that
surprised people.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Wow, Okay, yeah, because I mean historically, I don't say historically,
but at least for the last three or four years,
the NFC South.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Has been like the weakest division in football every year.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
I just think Baker got the Bucks going, Panics to
get the Falcons going, and I think Young will have
a good year. The Saints. I don't know, flip a coin.
I mean, I guess it comes down to what you
believe in Tyler Shuck or if you don't, I'm not
I'm not too familiar. I'm not familiar enough with this
game to really give an accurate prediction. And I don't

(08:15):
think he was drafted to start per se, so it
could be a disaster. But going going along, we got
and I want to hear your opinion on this first.
The Commanders and Terry McLaurin. They might pay him, but
it seems right now like they rather standstill. What do

(08:36):
you think about him not having his money yet or
do you think they should pay him or trade him?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
No, I think they should pay him.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I mean, he's been loyal with that team since he's
been there. We talked about it off year. He's one
of the last remaining Washington redskin. I know that's that's
offensive to some people, but that was the name of
the team at one point, so he was the last
you know, he's the last member of that team. He's
being loyal to Washington. He stayed there. When you look

(09:05):
at all the how bad they've being for so many
years with Jay Gruden, Ron Rivera, you know, obviously you
know rip, but they had to deal with the whole
Dwayne Haskins situation. You know, they thought they had something
with Alex Smith, but then he's something their career and
the injury, so it's just being one thing after another

(09:27):
and then finally the team gets good and like, this
is how you treat your most loyal players.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
It just doesn't make sense to me.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Yeah, it doesn't.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I mean, and not only that, they're trading and paying everybody,
and then somehow they got to the end of their
money and realized you didn't pay your best player.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
I'm a little confused how that works.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I also know that if they don't pay him soon,
not personally, but I'm just gonna go off of things
we've seen in the past. The longer this waits, the
more disrespected he probably feels, unless they have some you know,
handshake deal going on, and that's when he starts asking.
The player starts asking for a trade. So if you gave,

(10:09):
you know, all these picks away and all this money
away to inevitably trade away your best player, it doesn't
make sense to me. I mean, I wouldn't if you
was to ask me, you could sign Debo right now,
or sign Terry McLaurin. I don't think many people's picking
Deebo Samuel so to bring him in at with a

(10:30):
bad contra where everybody was saying is a bad contract,
and the forty nine ers kind of had to get
off it and to have no problem eating at and
then not sign your best wide.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Receiver, it'd be a huge failure. And the money is.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
That is a part of thing. That shit, have we
known you would have just trade you debo for Terry
McClain straight up?

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Yeah, this is what I'm thinking, Like the forty nine
is probably calling him back, like what happened? Like why
didn't you tell us he was available? You know, But
we'll see how that goes. We just have a just
a few actually we could we can end it right
after this if you want real quickly.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
What do you think about the reports coming out of
Cleveland that Dalan Gabriel, who's their third round pick, is.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Actually in contentions to be the starter opening day.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I mean, I think it's I think it's a good sign.
I've also watched not all the footage, but I've watched
decent amount of footage for both of them at training camp.
I mean, the two youngins, and Sanders looks so much
better than him, even if you watch the miked up things,
it looks like the players are gravitating tim More. But hey,

(11:42):
the browns are gonna brown, you know.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Well, yeah, they're saying that the reason why this shador
looks so good is because he's playing against all the
third and four stringers, and they got Dealing Gabriel out
there practicing against the number ones.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
And that's uh, let me say one thing, and that's
because you're hiding the fact if you put him in
with the ones, he would look better than them. So
it's cool to leave him with the threes, so you
can use that. It's it's a good But I'm not
I'm not looking at that. I'm looking at the throws,
body mechanics, footwork.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
I'm not like, I'm not looking at ya.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Don't even know who he's throwing it too, you see
what I'm saying, Like, I'm three step drop, five step drop?
How's his on motion? Look, how's the ball coming out?
Where's the where's the you know? Is it accurate? How
the long balls?

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Like?

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Look at I haven't seen Dylan Gabriel so many impressive
throws at all.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
It looks like.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Sanders has a good a good grab of that of
that offense. I don't think they'll be able to keep
them on the bench that long unless they flat out
cut him, which then say, well.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Okay, Well for me, I'm not surprised because we talked
about this. Dylan Gabriel is the player the coach wanted.
Shador Sanders is the player the owner wanted. So obviously
you know Stefanski, he's gonna first put the guy. He's
gonna put the guy that he wanted in the best
situation to win the job. But I will say this
tough for Shador Sanders. Don't even worry about being the starter.

(13:11):
If I was him, I'll just focus on getting better
ball out in the preseason, and you never know, he
might get traded and be put in a better situation
than what he say is what he is right now.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Yeah, h Now that he looks it looks good, cut him.
Someone else will claim him, especially with that fifth round money,
someone will take him.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Right now. I'll say, allegedly.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
We're gonna go we We did a little fact check
and it's been posting a bunch of places. I'm still
not sure if it's one hundred authentic, but I'm gonna
ask your thoughts on it so allegedly, and I'm not
gonna say why, so we don't got to throw any
crazy words.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
YouTube might be blocking stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
But allegedly there's a warrant issued for A B and
he has fled the country possibly. What what are your
thoughts on this? Without going too bad.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
I mean, unfortunately A B has been he's been finding
himselves in a lot of like weird situations, uh, for
like last like five six, seven years, So I mean
with AB, nothing surprises me. But it's like, broh, come
on now, attempted murder like you you're better than that.

(14:32):
And then I don't know if it's true. I don't
know if they're personal charges. Like you said, it's just rumors.
But the rumor is that there.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Is a warrant.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
I'll say that there is a warrant for his arrest,
but the rumor is that he hasn't turned himself in
and that he's left the country. So you know, make
of that what you will, But I mean, have my
only thoughts is that like at this point, just AB
doing a b shit.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah, basically no bullshit, sad story if true. Obviously, I
know you've probably seen the footage that it could be
you know in relation to probably one of the top
five best wide receivers I've ever seen the game of

(15:16):
football play the game of football in my life.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Oh yes, especially his size No. Five nine, five ten closest.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I want to say he is his route treat. And
I mean, obviously there's aspects that he was, you know,
faster than Rice, probably a little bit better feet work,
but his game was was similar to Rice. And then
like those I want to say, those two or three
seasons he had in Pittsburgh is like up there in

(15:47):
like three of the top five to ten best seasons
at all time, I think. So it's it's just sad
to see where he went from to.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
He put up his I think he spent his first
nine years in Pittsburgh, so he put up those first
nine years when he was with the Steelers, and you
look at Jared Russ's first nine years, it's not it's
not that it's not that much off.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yeah, I know, I think one of the best.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
It's just it's a sad collapse, sad fall apart. I
guess we'll see how it goes. I'm not gonna put
too much thoughts on it in case. In case the
one actually isn't issued, but I did. I mean, I've
seen things that people expected a wart to be issued
fim like the past maybe month. So we'll we'll see

(16:41):
how it plays out and we'll continue with that on
the next episode and see how that goes. But we
could get up out of here, bro, you have anything
you want to add in before we jump off?

Speaker 4 (16:51):
Now, man, that's that's that's what it man. We covered everything,
all the NFL stuff, all right.
