Speaker 1 (00:21):
Welcome everybody. It has been such a long time. This
is the return of Convo Kai I am mole Eleanor
Wrestling is here with me again. Finally, I'm so long.
This is awesome. Oh the show is I'm I'm excited
because there's been so much development since we talked last,
(00:44):
like so much. There was a strike that they had
to go through in order to get this thing even made,
like which explains, you know, a lot of the the
age up of a lot of these kids, but they
didn't move to age up, so you know, but they
kind of just keep going. So uh but this, honestly,
(01:05):
the show was amazing. The final season sixth and final
season three parts, we're gonna talk about all three parts
and and and talk about the continuation hopefully of the
series is you know, from if Netflix decides they want
to do these spin offs that they're talking about. We're
gonna talk about that a little bit. Our opinions on
those in the movie Karate Kid Legends coming out soon.
(01:28):
I for one, never thought they were gonna do another
Karate Kid movie the right way, and this one looks
the right way, like it's the only thing that's bothering me.
But we'll talk about that again. Is the lack of
Cobra Kai uh series influence. I get why they're going
with it, though, I get where they're trying to go,
But we'll talk about that anyway. So Eleanor, all right,
(01:49):
we're gonna do a little back and forth. Eleanora and
I talked about this before. We're gonna She's gonna ask
me a bunch of stuff. I'm gonna ask her a
bunch of stuff. But we're gonna try to keep it
on flow, on topic, you know, on on, so you know,
not episodes really, but parts. Well, we're gonna talk about
parts in general because it's kind of hard to break
down each episode, at least in my mind anyway, everything
blends in together. So we're gonna it's a bit much
(02:12):
if it happened all at once too, and it's great.
The last part of it just dropped not too long ago.
We got we got to watch everything the finale. So Eleanor,
let's start with the part one here, the first five episodes. Okay,
I want to ask you. First off, it starts off
with Cobra Kai's dead. It's done, done, all right, both
(02:36):
of the students, you know, for Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang.
You know, you guy, if you guys paid attention, you
know those are the two. You know. Miyagi Do is
is Larusso's Eagle Fang was uh you know, Johnny's in
uh uh and and they're they're they're together in this
battle basically against higher power. We'll call it right now.
(02:58):
And so Eleanor, like, what do you think of the
uh It starts off really with you know there their
training for the sky. You know that that that big
the big kind of like the Hill Valley or not
the All Valley Championship, you know what I mean, like
in the movie. But this is like the the thing
(03:20):
you know for these guys, that's there. You go, that's
exactly WrestleMania of karate. That is that is the way
we're gonna put it from now on. We're gonna call
it karate mania because guy is it's hard for me
to say it's kind of like it's on Twister. So
we're gonna call it karate mania. Yeah, so all right,
(03:43):
we're gonna we're gonna start up Eleanor what do you
think we find some stuff out about Chosen first, you
know what I mean, Like there's a big arc, you know,
kind of kind of an arc. I guess it's a
character development in Chosen. You know, so what did you
Johnny and Chosen like you're kind of you know, but yeah,
(04:05):
you know what I mean. So they're they're, they're they
they both want the same thing, you could tell, but
they're going about it different, like, uh, we'll just say different,
you know. They they they So they challenge each other
to a little you know, Daniel's dismay. Yes, Daniel did
not did not care for this whatsoever. But Daniel learned
(04:29):
stuff about Chosen. What do you what do you do
you want to go into?
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Chosen went through a really interesting arc, especially in part one,
like he was saying when we were reintroduced him at
the end of season four, and then when he joins
Daniel's take on Terry Silvery and he almost dies at
the end of season five, and so then when he
reached out to Comic and then it turns out Kom
never responded to him, and he kind of went a.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Little bit crazy because he thought he fell in love.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
He thought this is the woman of his dreams, and
then she never caught him back, and it kind of
says down a dark path and he really wants to
honor mister Magi and his family and everything that they've
built at this point. And then you've got Johnny who's
kind of the antithesis of all that, countering that in
Chosen's mind, that is as Daniels saying, you know, like
we need to work together, like for the kids here,
we can't be doing this. And it's nice because Chosen
(05:18):
kind of talks to Daniel and they kind of hash
things out a little bit, and then Chosen and Johnny
sort of both have their own individual arcs and they
sort of realize like what this is stupid, like over.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
A dojo name, Like what the hell? They have kind
of a sparring thing, if you will.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
At the end.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I love when they both kicked Daniel and it's like
he's rapping the match.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
It's really cool.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
But that's obviously only episode one, but Chosen as a
whole in the whole entire fifteen episodes, and then especially
in part one where he's sort of like, I should
go back to Okinawa and go to get Kumaco and
rescue and not rescue her, bring her back and you know,
get together with her and stuff find out the answers,
and that's sort of countering the story with Daniel's revelation
about mister Megi, Like, oh my god, parallel as well.
(06:01):
It was just Yeah, I love Chosen. He's so funny.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I think he was the breakout character.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yeah, I think he has this amazing comedic relief to
the to the shy.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
So I thought it was done really well.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
What did you think of Chosen? Honestly for me from
becoming from being the dickhead of the movie, you know
what I mean, like of the series, and then like
having this whole turnaround where he's really no different than Daniel,
like you know, like I mean, like no different whatsoever.
There's stories parallel each other to the point where it's
(06:33):
like almost eerie, you know what I mean. Yeah, and Uh,
Like I I just love how his sense like he's like, honestly,
he's had one of the bigger redemption arcs in my eye,
like next to next to Terry Silver.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
And we'll talk about that too.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
We want to talk about yeah, and uh and Crease
h exactly because Crease has another explosive Oh yes, oh yeah, yeah,
we'll talk about that. We will talk about that because
that's a big thing, and that that has me what
you're asking more questions than anything else. Yeah, for sure.
(07:13):
So so really during part one is uh, they're they're
really getting back into the you know, building relationships back.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah, it's very kind of up until the finale. A
part of one it's quite peaceful, you know. Actually the
first episode is called peace Time in the Valley. It's
very everyone's happy. They're finally free of cobracte or.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
So they think.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah, and you know, you've.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Got like Johnny and Carmen, they're having their baby, and
the couples are all really good and Tories in me
are you know, and her mum's getting better or so
we thought, and everyone's getting along and it's just really nice.
And then ship hits the fan in the part of
one finale and you're just like, how yeah, this cobra kai.
We always get back to this point, just like, haven't
been back to this point. I will never forget the
(07:58):
twist in episode five of like the opening scene of
Tory with at the doctors of her mum. She's getting
better and it's great, and Crease confronts her in the
car park and you're like, oh God, and then.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
At the end when she rejoins Cobra Kai, I was just.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Like, oh my god, Tori, No, you've come so far.
I wasn't.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I think sometimes I wasn't the biggest fan of Tory
in the earlier seasons.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
I thought she was a little bit deranged, if you will,
maybe a little bit psychotic.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
I'll give you that.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah, well, you know, I always thought, you.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Know, she's had a rough a rough life, and it's
it's understandable how someone like that would get to her point.
And so I think her redemption arc in part of
one and then following into part two and three was
it was phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
What did you think of Tori Tory? Honestly her I
was kind of on your side on this one. Like
most of the series, like I was like, she's she's
got this flippy attitude like for one like where she's
you want to like her, like you really do, but
(09:02):
some of the ship that she does, it said, You're
like this, it's got some mother going on, and I
can't can't quite figure out if she's gonna be another
like total flip, like if she's gonna seem cool for
most of the things, but that at the end.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
She's gonna be one of the like, you know, the main.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Asshole people, Like I wanted to think that's what was
gonna happen. I didn't, so, I mean not at all.
She she turned out to be one of the better
characters like in the show. And I'm kind of curious
as to what they're gonna do now, if they're like,
(09:38):
after now the show's all wrapped up obviously, if they're
gonna bring her character into any spinoffs, if they do them,
or if they're gonna end up because I know she
in reality, the actress you know who plays her is
very busy. She is in like every show on Netflix
and uh, you know the other things she's she is everywhere,
(10:01):
and I don't know if she's like, you're just gonna
have the time to do like anything catching up. But
they kind of left like they didn't wrap up every
dead end every That was the point.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
I think they they left a lot of loose ends
so that hopefully they could revisit it at some other point.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
I don't know if you I don't know if you
know this, but Torri and.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Robbie, like they're like one of the most popular couples
in the online families, like everyone loves them and people
really want a spinoff because obviously, as sad as you know,
at the end of part three, they become like the
Karate influences, like doing.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Energy during commercials.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
You know, she's like tournaments all this kind of stuff.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
You know, they're rich and famous, and so I think
a keen Ry spin off, I think it would be
really cool.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
But like you're saying, I don't know if it's in
the cars, but I would be.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
All for it, Like if they spin that off like
on their show, like their own show, and you can
age them up. Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, obviously I think
it would be a good thing. Like I actually kind
of liked that idea of giving them their own show.
And and uh, we'll talk about the other possible spin
offs too when we talk about you know, the arc
(11:12):
here with Hawk and and and you know all them.
So let's keep going here with the with the the
first part here though, because we did kind of skipped
a little bit. That's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. People
just listen and know it's gonna happen again. Probably we're
gonna skip a lot, but I want to try to
keep back now. Now Crease ends up showing up you know. Sorry,
(11:41):
let's let's let's start that over again.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Uh yes, and the actors, uh, Kim Dong is that
how they Yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Was trying to put I didn't want to sorry all
my you know, butcher probably a lot of this stuff.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
But and he's telling the students there of their dojo
that Cobra Kai is back. Like they're not done their back.
They are in full force. And he proposes to the
master Kim yes, yeah, to have the dojo represent Cobra
Kai in the or karate media.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yes on.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Maybe he was turned down after uh that's previous partnership
with Silver it ended over failure. Uh there, you know,
but soon Young agreed to uh the proposal. If on
a caveat on a caveat, if Crease ventures to remote
island and recovers his ancient family's knight. Oh my god,
(12:47):
that knife.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Did we know.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
What that would the robin end not playing but yes,
Chris having.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
To capture that knife. That was so interesting that whole him.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Guy on the boat to this island and he's the
snake and he tries to catch it and the.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Snake bites him and he has this vision, this dream.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
It is so well done.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
And I think, again, I know you're something we're gonna
end up skiving.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Oh yeah, let's at this point. I'm just let's go.
Let's just talk the fact that.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
He kills Johnny in this vision he imagines snapping his
neck and you know it's supposed to be this like, oh,
he's lost all this remorse and empathy that he ever
has for Johnny.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
You think he can never get that back.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
And then seeing how full circle it comes, and we
could obviously we will talk about it, but I just
think it was it was really well done. And then
increase actually capturing the knife and then returning it to
Master Kim with the snake's head, like, oh my god,
it was brutal, and then that allowing Chris to fully
take over Korean Cobra Kai and really kind of figure
(13:48):
out the students, and then that kind of moving into
episode three of part one with the full introduction of
Kwan and Yun, and again like seeing how where they
end up going.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
I just think I just of the.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
S like I'm really because I'm not sure I'm going
to be able to get into any of the spinoffs,
like the way I got into this, you know, Like,
like I said, from the first time, it took me
a couple of episodes to finally fully get into it.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (14:19):
Yeah, I had to convinced and I was like, I'm
glad you did, honestly because now like and then I'm like, oh, so,
like they he took control of the dojo's training, focusing
on Kwan like we were talking about, right, So, and.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Kwan is he's basically a prodigy, is like crazy good,
like he's literally a young version of Chosen. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, you know, he has remorse, he has he doesn't care.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
He just he just wants to absolutely breize anyone that
gets in his way.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
And we really do see that coming to Fruition. Yeah,
so this kid, they're basically training this kid to be
in Assess and yeah, you know, so really connects with
him exactly exactly and so basically under uh you know,
(15:23):
well all that's happening there, you know, Kwan uh gets
into uh you know, they put him against you or you,
and they they have a you know fight to see
who's going to be you know, the the guy you know,
yes because you and is the leader of technically the best. Yeah.
(15:51):
So they get into a scrap and geene Lo and
behold you know, kwan whoops uh so and then rips
the bag. I was like, oh that's badass. I was
like all right. I was like you go go dude,
I got you. Now turn on your side right now?
(16:14):
All right?
Speaker 2 (16:14):
No, it had me thinking like, I'm so worried for
me back the.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Robie going down. This is crazy. Yeah. So they end
up while all this is going down, like uh, you know,
freasing over there and training ninjas and assassins. Sh fucking
Johnny and Carmen are learning that Carmen is expecting a girl. Yes,
(16:40):
and you know that they had the whole gender pink.
Speaker 8 (16:44):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
That was so funny because poor Johnny and Daniel, that's
so traumatized. They just they can't trust anything. A box
arrives at the house, no one's there picked up, it
must be a bomb, right, like if someone obviously trying
to kill them, And then that's when you hear the explosion,
but you can't see it at first, And I honestly,
(17:07):
for a split second, was like, was it actually a plot?
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Like the general reveiel didn't even come into my mind.
Speaker 9 (17:12):
And so then when Johnny walks in covered in the
pink stuff, and then Daniel just, oh, it was brilliant, so.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
They uh yeah, and then basically it goes right from
there to uh, you know, after the gender revealed, you know,
and the paints.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
All over Daniel and after.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
House Daniel and Amanda are they discover a chest Yeah,
under the floorboard. Yeah. And then when they opened it,
they discovered and co owned a boxing gym. Yeah, and
(17:57):
reportedly left the country to China after he was wanted
for assault and robbery in nineteen Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yeah for a necklace. Yeah, stealing a necklace.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
So what do you what do you think of all that? Like,
what did you think when.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
They're so when they first tease the mister stuff, I
was initially kind of skeptical.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
I sort of thought, obviously the act Pat Morito is.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Obviously dead, and I just thought, I don't know how
much you can really continue in missing the Agi story
without mister me argue that. So I'm kind of like,
I don't know the Ralph Matcho said before, like he
just always wanted to honor his legs, and I was like, then,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Think they're going to screw it up.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
But I was just like I don't know how much
they can actually really get out of this. And I
think in part one I wasn't the biggest fan of it,
but I think it really came full circle towards the end.
But then, like specifically in part one when when they
find the chest and they go to the boxing gym
and everything, it really does make you think, did mister
Magi hide this entire side of his life from Daniel?
Did he have this very dark kind of villainous arc
(19:05):
almost that he just pretended never existed. It's like, that's
not the miss me argue know, and then as yes,
it does come from circle and it ends up okay
because of course, But yeah, I was initially.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Skeptical, but I grew to quite like it.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
What did you think?
Speaker 1 (19:19):
You know what? Honestly, I was like intrigued more than
anything else. I was just I was like, how where
are they going to go with this? Like you said,
I like, where are they gonna go? Like? Is mis
can't be a villain? Like I knew he had a
shage past in some things, but like with his you know,
the military background obviously, Yeah, yeah, you know, fucked up
(19:40):
shit going on. That's what I kind of thought.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Maybe it was you know, I'm going to tie.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Into but like, yeah, I didn't think that he was
gonna like turn out to be like this big bad
guy like, but I kind of kind of couldn't put
it past him to do something like the writer's not
missing the writers that the bearst them to maybe make
something out of it that, you know, yeah, could be
(20:05):
kind of shady, but could not be or it could
be misconstrued as and there's something else that's going on
that we're gonna learn later on in the movie. Maybe Yeah,
Like I don't know where they're going with this stuff is.
But I was just very like I said, I was
more true.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Yeah, yeah, I was changed.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
So who episode was really interesting because it had those
those stories going on at the same time, and then
paralleling the mister stuff was the slumber party with Sam
and Torry, Johnny and Devin, and I thought just the juxtaposition.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Is absolutly hilarious. You've got this mister mealgi.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Like he he assaulted somebody, He's definitely that's very bad.
And then Johnny being Johnny and just having this slumber passing.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
I thought it was hilarious.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Now throughout this all the too. Uh, they're they're trying
to pick the six fighters who are gonna represent Miagi
do and uh, you know in the Wstlemania.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
I'm gonna as they bring it, they bring in Mike Barnes.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yes, I was gonna just say that they brought in
Mike Barnes, and again another character that I did not
think was going to have turned out to be a
decent enough character. Yeah did. And I'm glad that they
were all just being manipulated technically, you know. Yeah, no,
not that they were all just dickheads and they were
(21:34):
enhanced dickheads, you know what I mean because of that,
Like it was just that they were inherently taught to
be dickheads. And I like Mike Barnes being there, and
I like how they brought him back. Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
So I thought that episode was really interesting because obviously,
like we knew we could guess which fighters we're gonna
end up being shoun you know, it wasn't that when
he was like, oh, we've always got all Top four
and it was Migual Toy, Robbie Sammer, I was like,
I'm so shocked.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, you know, but.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
I still I still like the idea that they wanted
a neutral party and someone that could genuinely evaluate the
kids performance and see how they could get on. I
wasn't the biggest fan of the Devon story of her
trying to impress Mike Barnes and then Johnny and everything.
I kind of thought, I like Devon, I think she's cool,
but she, as we go on to find out, was
not cut out.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
For this tournament at all.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
And I think, you know, I appreciate wanting to try
your best and doing you know, pushing yourself, like I
get it, But I just think she cheats.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
You know, she drugs Kenny.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
I think that was unnecessary. That was just unnecessary.
Speaker 10 (22:42):
It was a bit far, Like you don't, you don't
drug somebody like that is weird.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
You don't know, that's a little bit. It's beyond a
karate exactly, Like that's some w Yeah. So again, like
you said, they now they chose obviously, you know.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yes, it ends up being as an episode for Migul, Robbie,
Sam Torri, Devon and Dimitrid.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
So we think, yeah, so they they and what they do? Uh?
What is it that it was a hold on? I
wrote this down because it was funny. Uh, And I
can't remember if I remember it or not watch it,
but when they had the the Battle Royal there, yes, right,
(23:47):
and after Devon captured the flag the first one, Yeah,
did can we suddenly get diarrheam I remember in that right? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Kind of? So it wasn't in that.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
So they do the capture the flag thing like then
you say, the Battle Royal and Devon doesn't move very
well and Johnny ends up she kind of confides with
joining a bout and he ends up going to Mike Barnes,
can you please reconsider this? So they end up then
doing Hawk Dimitri, Kenny and Devon in the forest to
try and capture the final flag. And that was when
(24:21):
Devon had secretly drugged Kenny the diarrhea and then she
ends up.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
It was out of order. I thought, I remember remember
something about diarrhea, and I was like, why remember diary? Yeah,
that was the drugging. Yeah, okay, so that was that
was a catalyst for the you know, for a couple
of things. But so the final part of part one.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Yeah, episode five, the Team Captain's.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Tory actually encountered Greece.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Yes, that was very interesting because it was a big
theory before seeing the six even dropped of like, you.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Know, how is you know he's on the run, like
he escaped from jail.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
The last time we saw him, Like how is he
allowed to do all this? And then it was kind
of brushed under the rug.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
But yeah, he follows.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Toy somehow, travels from Korea to the US without getting
caught as you do, and then encounters Tory.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Like you were saying, and causes normal tricks.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
He's been manipulative and getting in her head and it
does end up working, sadly.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
So like like, yeah, it ends up working. And see,
at this point in the thing I'm thinking is going
to be he's got some Yeah. Yeah, like there's gonna
(25:59):
be something. I want to know what's going to use.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Yeah, I wasn't sure of this, but before what ends
up happening happening, I was kind of like, I dodn't
know how this is.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Going to work.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
I don't know how she could just leave me, I know,
for no reason.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
But then obviously as we're about to mention, something catastrophic
happens and it comes together. Why okay, Yeah, So episode
five kicks off with Toy, as I mentioned in the
docor's office, her mum's getting a prescription and stuff, and
you think.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
She's finally happy, her mom's doing better. This is this
is fantastic.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
And then you know Crease and she goes it's all
kind of seemingly going all over the place, and she
goes home and she sees that a pot of food
has been left on the.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Harbor, and you just think, oh God.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
And then the next thing she knows, she drops the
pills all over the floor and her mom.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Is laying there unconscious.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
And her mum sadly dies and it was like we
all knew it was coming. It was pretty obvious since
like season three her.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Mum was going to die, but I just I didn't
think it would happen.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Then I was like, I mean, once they said her
mum was getting better, I was like, okay, this is
we know where this is going, classic TV, right, But
once it happened, I was just like, oh, you've got
to be kidding me. And then of course that combining
with christ in her head about they're never going to
treat you like Sam, They're never going to see you
as equal, and then Tory thinking that's true, it was wild.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Yeah, So like, where did you think this was going
to go when they stopped part of one, Like, what
did you think was going to go on?
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Like once part of one ended, rejoined kiper Crime.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Ye yeah yeah, oh okay, yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Yeah, so so she yeah, she does rejoin hey yeah,
so that was It was interesting because when Daniel stops
the fight between her and Sam and.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Tory is like my mom died and peted, Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
The acting is just it's phenomenal, and then she runs.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Away and then you see her at the end in
Cobra Kai. I think I was.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
I was initially quite annoyed. I was having some reaction
to you in terms of I was like, how are
we supposed to feel about her?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Like I want to like her, but she's doing.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
This, And like I understood, because yes, I get it,
she was vulnerable, increased, but in that moment was the
only one who was seemingly there for her. But I
was kind of worried where it was going to go.
I was sort of like, is she gonna be back
to being a villain? Like how is she going to
interact with the others. I was kind of confused, but
it you know, I was hopeful because I thought they
(28:34):
haven't done this redemption art for Tori for no reason.
So I was kind of feeling cautiously optimistic, what about you.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
I was, I would know. I thought she was going
to go full on, you know, okay, quite frankly, I
don't know, like I saw that she just had this
look in her, you know what I mean, Like she
had like, yeah, stone cold, like you know, no empathy,
like I'm gonna open a can of whoo pass on
(29:03):
whatever this guy tells me. Like that's basically like I
thought he had gotten to her. Okay, Like I knew
there was probably gonna be a redemption arc again, you know,
at the end of the series. But yeah, I didn't
think it was gonna be like as fast as it was,
quite frankly, because it happened really like it really did.
(29:24):
She did like a complete one eighty again like real fault,
like you shoul buy boler What is wrong with this girl?
Like she got split personalities, like what is going on?
Is she toy?
Speaker 4 (29:33):
And then like just some psycho on the other side,
flip it.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
I don't does Crease have like a fucking word on
her like a switch?
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Like what is.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
But uh so, anyway, let's let's pass forward. They go
to Barcelona. Everybody's in Barcelona now, you know for that
uh and uh before the competition, and I guess Robbie
tried to talk to Tory about, Yeah, why all this stuff.
(30:03):
I was gonna say something kind of big.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Of Part one, we kind of glossed over.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
With the captain stuff. So obviously we were Toro about
touring and Sam. Obviously we had Robbie and Maguel as
well for the male captain spot. And that was really
interesting because Robbie mcgo are like my favorite characters and
I love like the growth of their relationship into becoming
step brothers as I've seen them arguing in that episode
(30:29):
because they had to fight each other.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
It was quite sad.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Because you know mcgul wanting to go to Stanford, like
the university being really important to him, and then Robbie
been the biggest thing in.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
His life having to compete in this tournament. It kind
of dividing them.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
And then Robbie winning, I was really like unexpected, but
I thought that was really cool. And then like you
were saying, yes, they end up in in Barcelona and
Tory being in Cobra Kai.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Poor Robbie. Yeah he should hurt, like he literally did
like he.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Was like he was like actually heard.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah. So basically, uh, again, Robbie tries to you know,
to talk story about her decision. Why should kai Yes
didn't go well at all? And uh then the theay
Go Boys lose their hotel rooms to and their forces
(31:30):
split rooms with the girls.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Yes, I am that was definitely interesting. Again Corn, you know,
he's he's.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
He's just built differently and so he's able to kick
the thing higher than Robbie. And of course they lose
their hotel room and all four boys have to share
and there's two beds between them, and there's a weird
farting thing goes.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
It was a bit crazy.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
And of course Robbie he doesn't have his head scream properly,
you know, he's so worried about Tori. So he's sneaking
out of the hotel room and the team needs him.
He needs to be on his A game and he wasn't.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
He was all over the scatter.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
So now during all this, you know, the do they
got upset when they found out that Robbie knew.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
They were not happy they didn't.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Tell him, so, m what did you? And then basically
like right after Dori asked Robbie for a break, Yes.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
A break, and that was the stre was back. If
Robbie wasn't already on a.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
H off. This poor dude, Like, I feel so bad
for him at this. I was like, God, he's just
getting kicked in the nuts on this poor kid. Like
they're just stomping them now, like they don't care, like
what is wrong?
Speaker 2 (33:04):
And it doesn't got to get much better either.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Yeah, Like, I don't understand what they have against this kid,
why they're writing them so bad? What do you do? Kid?
Speaker 8 (33:15):
Like?
Speaker 1 (33:15):
I felt like a parent. I'm like, why are they
kicking my kid?
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Like?
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Why they they my boy? Like, you can't be doing that.
And there's the old time, you know, Danny and Johnny
are trying to you know, get along with the other
sense and the sponsors, and yeah, get a little hard
(33:38):
when Johnny gets into a little spat. Yeah. Uh and
and you know wolf right yeah, yeah, it turns out
to be the Hong Kong Dojo. Uh you know, Sense
(33:58):
Iron Dragons or whatever. True, boy, what did.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
You think of that?
Speaker 3 (34:04):
What did you I felt there's there's always been kind
of a discussion amongst the Phantom, Like prior to season six,
should they introduce these other characters, these new some new characters,
And obviously in part one we got Kwan and Yun
and then in part two bringing in Axel and Zara
and saying, say, well, I was initially kind of like,
I don't know if we need all these new characters,
but they ended up being so pivotal to the show
(34:26):
and genuinely starting came about all of them, and I
thought was I thought was really interesting.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
I think I think what I thought actually was that
these are the ones that they're going to make a
spin off.
Speaker 11 (34:36):
Okay, yes, yeah, well maybe not, but the Iron Dragons themselves, Yeah, yeah,
I think because there's a lot of they can do
with it, Like there's a lot of characters, especially with
I mean, as we're about to get into in fisode seven,
with the relationship between sense A Wolf and Axel, like
(34:57):
it's it's abusive, it's.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
This, this he's being, he's this.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
I was hitting a child for for Karate, like we
thought Chris and Johnny was bad, like.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Bad, this is mentally yeah, I felt I do. I
feel I felt bad for almost every one of them
kids in it, you know, from the same says alone,
I'm like because I took type one. Pastically was a
great guy, you know what I mean, Like he he
did what he could for his students, but he got means,
(35:34):
you know what I mean, Like sometimes he would get
what he had, but he would scar with us, ring
with us. You know, he would do his thing and
proof why he's a teacher. Absolutely right. But these guys
pushed to These guys pushed that ship like there's a
(35:55):
hill right here, and they went over the moon and
jump back down like to go up the hill again.
That's how these guys were active to these kids. And yeah,
I don't like I think there's a major story that
can tell with that.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
Still, if they.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
I agree, I agree, especially I mean where people talk
about Pot three. But I think with the way the
oxents are ended, I think if he wanted to do
a pist kyber high.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Kind of what they're going to do off to it,
I'd be for it.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
A lot more than I'd.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Probably be for the uh you know.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Hawking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean that's just another college
drama show. Yeah, I mean, like it's basically yeah, I
would like it. I'd watch it. I'm not gonna say
it'd be bad. I'm just saying that I'd watched the
fucking Iron Dragons one in a heartbeat.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Yeah may sing.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
So basically, now there's uh, they're in the middle of
this captain's war. I guess, yeah, right, yeah, the yeah,
oh so yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
So they basically they say that the captains represent the
teams in the finals. And so the whole kind of
the whole of part two is the tournament is building
towards getting the Dojos into this Tournament of Champions. I
think it's like four Dojos in total would get to it. Robbie,
you know, he was doing so badly. He was not
winning any of his matches. Mcgirl was carrying that team,
(37:31):
and it kind of again like their relationship like that
they're arguing and they're at they're odds mens with each other.
And then you know, reached the boiling point because mcgol
and Johnny go back to the US in episode eight
because of Carmen.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
That was very scary. I was so worried. I was
like that, you know, uh, you know that problems. Yeah,
I was.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
I was really worried about that. And so then that
kind of coinciding with.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
A sort of break in the tournament when you have
Sam and Axel on the beach and Axo thinking she
likes him.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
She obviously doesn't, And I thought that was that was ranging.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
And rob you know people Robbie and Zara, like she
kind of sexually assaulted him a little bit.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
You know, he was drunk and she you know, we
know what happened.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Speaking of drunk, Chosen, yes, because he was so heartbroken
and disappointed after coming back from Japan that he thought,
you know, was that guy? Yeah, I was so I
was like, oh, poor Chosen, Like.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
I know, but I swat done to my head. I
would not have predicted how it ended up going with
his romantic relationship. You could have given me a thousand
guesses who will chose and end.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Up with romantically?
Speaker 1 (38:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
And then yeah, episode eight Chosen and Kim Dan that's
trying to find that students. You know, they don't want
them fighting with each other because I'm a sound by
side and uh wow, yeah, I'm.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Like That's why I said I like Chosen. I love
the characters so much now, like he really needs his
own another one that I would watch a total spin
off of Oh my god, yeah, Chosen life after this,
Like I want to see it. I want to see everything.
I want to see him become like an old, you know,
(39:32):
boggy type person to somebody and to have that hark
because I think he would be quite frankly for this
new movie coming out, I think he would be more
of a better trainer than Daniel and russo than this kid,
uh I do. I'm it's it's a it's a it's
a hot take, I know, but you know it's it's
(39:56):
I mean, honestly, what is Daniel I have the Grant kid?
Like instally kick he used an illegal kick.
Speaker 10 (40:01):
I'm just saying he used it again, like no, but
he's got the creaky kick, which his dumb but I
get he's.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Got Magi's teachings right. But Johnny would even be because
he kind of melded a lot of Myagi stuff now yeah,
stuff he knew. Even he I think would be a
slightly better trainer than Daniel LaRusso. Like I We'll see
how it goes though, because I know Jackie Chan's in
the movie too, and I know he's technically the Theyagi character,
(40:31):
but he's not, you know what I mean, He's the Chinese. Yeah,
but the relationship they're going to be forming in that
movie with Russo and the new kid is I don't
think it's right because this kid already out does Daniel, Like,
how is he like he's better than Daniel already? What
is Laruso gonna teach you? Like get We'll get into it,
(40:56):
but that it just had me confused. I'm sorry. So anyway,
during this you know captains Man that we were talking about,
you know, I like you said, Robbie was losing, yeah,
everything for and uh he got distracted, causing him to
(41:19):
lose to Kwan obviously meagy Do loses the round and
after eliminating uh yeah, a little Unity and Kuan face off, right, yes, yeah,
and against the other remaining team, the Iron Dragons, who
(41:43):
still have the eyes of their members in there. Six
of these dudes. Yes, basically that's the whole team. If
you weren't paying attention to people. Uh, they don't lose,
they're crazy and they make quick Oh my god, do
they whip like you remember uh Santino Morella in the
(42:10):
Royal mumble yeah, walks in, does it knocks? And right
the hell out right, That's basically what happened with these guys.
I feel kind of nothing for Cobra Kai at that point,
but they got they got humbled, and they deserve to
be humbled at that point, Like because it was a
(42:34):
toss up for me, like I was really started to
get behind me Iron. I was like, I kind of
like these guys, they don't take ship. They they're winning everything.
They're sure they're brainwashed. Sure, but so is Cobra Kai
and so you know, like it's kind of hard to
(42:56):
pick a favorite out of those guys. Like I think
Iron Dragons at that point because they're better obviously than
I was kind of on board with them.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
And then when they did the whole like Axle like
Sam and when he's Sam and mcga and he creates
his one sided beef with mcgut, He's like staring at him.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
Like no reason.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
I'm just like, get over your SI.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
That was dirty pool.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
Yeah, I'll give you that.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
That was dirty pool.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
They didn't need to do all that, but but.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
You know, I kind of, like I said, I kind
of felt for them. I'm like, you know, these guys
are definitely gonna have series afterwards, and if they don't,
they're misusing why they brought him in, Yeah, because why
bring them in to get their ass and to do
it at the end, but like just have them go
all out beat how they need to do something with
(43:49):
them as well, I'm saying, and they have you know,
they have the options to do it if they're already
talking about you know, series coming out. So yeah, but
that would be my priority. Whoever's making them go with
the Iron Dragons hurts, then you can get the hawking
whatever one out of your system. Do that, yeah, because
(44:10):
it's going to happen.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
I know it.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
They've already been the scenes for it online and everything.
Now there's basically scripts already. So all right, I'm kind
of getting all like all over the place now, but
that's okay. Do you want me to do? Yes, please
(44:33):
catch me up back of course.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
So we were just obviously yes, we said the Iron
Dragons humbled, kybra Kai as we said obviously we were
talking about.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
Calm the pregnancy problems.
Speaker 3 (44:44):
Yes, yes, that's the end of episode seven, and then
that's an episode eight and that amazing scene of Johnny
and Miguel on the plane when Johnny says that he
the mcgul is also his son, which was a really
lovely full suple moment from when in season four when
Johnny drug and he said I love you too, Robbie.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
And it was like, yes, we got it back, So
that was really nice.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
Obviously, Carmen ends up being okay, which is lovely, and
then that leads us into episode nine, which is my
personal favorite episode of part two. I thought that was
the best one in my opinion, because we have, yeah,
Robbie's head still is not on straight, and Miguel, Miguel
brings him.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
Back, he apologizes and motivates him and it's really great.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
And then we get the match before, like the quarter
final match if you will, Cobra Kai. The winner advances
to the Tournament of Champions and it's Robbie and it's
Quan and it's oh, they don't like each other, you know, Tory,
and it's just it's a whole it's a big, messy situation.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
It's such an epic fight.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
And then Robbie getting that final kick because yeah, yeah,
Quan is talented shore of Robbie. He's got this balance
and he's got all these amazing things and he is
Quan almost represents what Robbie could have become.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
If he didn't he didn't see the light. Almost.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
That's a really interesting parallel and then go.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
Win and it's like, oh my god.
Speaker 3 (46:10):
But at that point I was like, hang on, we've
still got one episode left. This is we got the
happy ending at the end of the second episode. No,
it's about to hit the fan. And so yeah, but
I love the pronounced episode of part two. And then
I mean, you could the finale get all yours Part
(46:30):
two finale?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
Oh god, yeah, that's what I was going to start
frigging into. I was like, because it kicks off with
Daniel having a nightmare, yes right, yes, c g I
mister the younger mister yeah, where he fights a young
in the in the final round of a past mania.
Uh uh yes, and he says he never told Daniel
(46:57):
everything about his past because he was never strong enough
to accept the truth. Oh ah, so that's some inner ship,
like Daniel, Daniel's got some demons he needs to work out.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
Okay, that was his Yeah, He's like thinking, like, was
it me?
Speaker 3 (47:17):
Was it because of me that you never revealed this stuff?
I think that's so sad. But it's like like he
was saying he's missing me, he isn't alive to tell
him the story, and so I just thought that, like
you're saying these inner demons of Daniel. And then oh,
we forgot to mention Terry Silver coming back.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Oh my god, episode. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 12 (47:34):
Oh I forgot to mention it to because that was
a big talking point that I wanted to stretched up
even more for Daniel.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
Terry Silver kidnapped Daniel in the dog Ages that Oh
my god, poor Daniel, Poor Daniel.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
Like he went through a like for a show that
started off being about just you know what I'm saying, like,
and then again LaRusso took over Daniel Marusso. But still, honestly,
like they gave Daniel a nice you know, character development
(48:18):
to this whole you know, and I'm I'm kind of
I don't talk the worst out of this whole fucking
bunch of martial arts wise, but uh, like he got
lucky in the tournament. He got lucky, lucky. He's the
luckiest guy in California at that point the valley, but
(48:42):
he is, he's got that like they did rite by
giving him that, like where he's having the conflict of
trying to live up to mister Miyagi, yeah, like in
his teachings and also trying to just be like knowing
that the word world is really not uh uh, Like
(49:05):
I'm not gonna say like not for his way of being,
but like the people around him are not really conducive
to the way you know what I mean, Like yeah,
and he's trying to also like it just like real life,
you know what I mean, Just like everything with everything,
and you feel for the guy at the end of
(49:27):
you kind of him up to this point.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
Now, yeah, because you can understand because you know his
whole the whole defense only mindset, like he said, like
it worked for him in the Karate Kid, so why
wouldn't it work again? But like he was saying, all
the people around him don't have Johnny even it's Sam
like everyone is kind of like what we need both,
like you can't just be on defense one hundred percent
of the time, and Daniel can't just be a carbon
(49:52):
copy of Missing THEGI because you can't do that. And
so I think it's a really interesting arc, especially as
we see him part three with Daniel eyeing everything.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
I just dropped. Okay, wait with tying everything together. We
said that over there that was a mad magazine. I
just had signed Karma or something was telling me to
tell everybody that. Thank you Carlena Gower, Andre Gower's sister
who was in the movie The Towering Inferno back in
nineteen seventy three, for signing my Mad magazine that I
(50:25):
had found of The Towering Inferno. Oh wow. And she
went above and beyond and sent me pictures from the
movie set and a copy of the front of the
script for it signed. Wow.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
That's amazing.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
So thank you Carlena. Thank you Andre for hooking that
up again. My friend and co host on those old
movie guys, and it just happened to be in a
nice little eighties movie called The Monster Squad.
Speaker 4 (50:50):
We checked that out.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
Sorry, that's gay.
Speaker 12 (50:54):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
She wasn't detending on advertising, but Gravity had other words. So,
uh so, all right, let's get back. I was talking.
What the hell was I talking about? It about Daniel, right,
Daniel's trying to not be mister Miyagi and trying to
be miss at the same time. Like it's but uh
(51:20):
so he had the nightmare and and you know he
yeah that he uh And then after that, I guess,
uh when I wrote down, is that the tournament tournament
director go through Yeah, yeah, confirmed to Daniel that Silver's
information about Miagi is correct.
Speaker 2 (51:43):
Yes, mister Miyagi killed his.
Speaker 1 (51:45):
Frighten and the right That's what I was gonna And uh,
what do you think about that? What did you think
when they see.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
Again what I was saying when they the theft and
the assault thing, I was like, it's not a bit
and then like I've they got even further, and that
is I think to my kind of spinoffs and stuff.
I know the creators have discussed an idea of the
Mister prequel, which I think could be really interesting because
the thing like him killing his opponent isn't actually mentioned
(52:15):
ever again in part three, I don't think they bring
up once, and so I think that's something they do
need to tie back together because I'm not we don't
really find out what happened. I imagine it was a
big misunderstanding. Maybe Miss Andi's opponent was ruthless, maybe killing
him was the only thing he could do. But at
the same time, like he murdered something, you know what
(52:35):
I mean, there's a line. So I did think that
was a very interesting twist. But again, the foreshadowing in
that episode of how episode ten ends.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
Now, what do you think? This is my thought that
I when I you know, originally heard that. When the
came about, I was like, okay, so maybe that's why
Nyagi's fighting style developed into a more defense. Yes, I agree,
that's why he was so anti tournaments and anti That
(53:12):
moment is probably what changed his yeah one, right, so
maybe that's where they can go and lead up to,
you know, during the if they do do the prequel,
which I would actually be yeah, may say, even whether
they do it as a movie or a.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
Series or whatever, I would I would be in for
it either way.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Yeah. Now uh he after you know that revelation, uh,
you know, they're there. I broke it down and it
probably skipped a lot of stuff. But the Cobra Kai
prepared to leave to go home after being eliminated, right,
so there and only to receive a second chance.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Yes, because there Ojo was using performance enhancing drugs.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Great banker. So now the tournament now is Cobra Kai,
Iron Dragons, Miyagi Do and the Fear and Terror. Yes okay,
(54:24):
which was yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
The semifinals became versus Robbie Sam versus Tory Quart versus
Dago I think his name was, and Zara versus Maria.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
Yes, okay, yep, that's what I got here, ye.
Speaker 3 (54:41):
Now?
Speaker 1 (54:42):
Uh it began with Axel against Robbie. Yes, it.
Speaker 3 (54:52):
Was interesting because I from the beginning wanted Robbie to
win a trophy. It was something I really wanted for
him as a character, and I know that the actor
wanted it as well. But I just had a feeling
in this episode. They were really dragging out the start
of the start of the final sorry, and so I
was like, we're not getting a conclusion.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
In this episode, are we.
Speaker 3 (55:13):
I had no idea what was going to happen, and
obviously we get Robbie versus Al and it sort of
starts with their like maybe twenty minutes left of the
episode or something.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
So I was like, yeah, no, like I can see
where this is going.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
And we prized that, you know Axel So sorry, Zara
had advanced to the semifinals, as had kwon. Yes, so
we're down to Robbie and Axel. And Axel is a machine.
As we were saying, he is absolutely brutal. Robbie cannot
get any hits on him at all. Axel's defense is
perfect and his offense is perfect, but he pushes Robbie
(55:49):
into Kuan, into the other Cobra Kuai's elbow to Robbie's chest.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
Mcguirl comes in and all hell breaks loose because that
Russian dojo they can take it.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
They're like, no, we got eliminated, and so they knock
out Guntha and in classic Cobra Kai fashion, we got
a big old broom.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
Huge Oh so good because, like I said, man like,
they go at it like this is a is a
nice film brawl too. Like the production work on this one,
this one was top notch. Yeah, I agree, I I
it was better than the school you know, a little
brawls that they had. This was this was like proper,
(56:31):
like this could have been in a movie fight scene
like the Yeah. Like and and then at the end
of you know, uh.
Speaker 2 (56:42):
Do you want to talk about Harry silver Increase.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
Yes, Yes, let's talk about I was just about to
say that fucking which we call it here? Uh that's right,
Uh what do we call it there? Creasa actually ends
up going after Silver yes, with the knife with the
jung do Yeah, yeah, yeah, fucking and it slips out.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
Oh, I have been waiting so long for Terry Somver
versus cries. I was like, that's the fight we need,
and then they're fighting. Of course, you know, Terry Silver
is a better fighter than Crease. We know this, and
so he's making great work of Crease.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
And who makes the save Johnny Lawrence.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
I was like, Johnny Cree trying to kill you several times?
Speaker 1 (57:34):
What you did?
Speaker 2 (57:36):
When it comes full circle? So it's okay.
Speaker 3 (57:39):
Then everyone's fighting everyone and Axel and Corn end up
fighting each other.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
Axel pushes Corn into a camera he's on the floor,
and what does he see on the floor. Oh, he
sees the jung do and.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
In his deranged, messed up mind, like we were saying,
he thinks I should pick that up. I should totally
carry a knife and then charges an Axel. Axel dodges
the kick.
Speaker 13 (58:09):
I was flabbergasted, literally, I was he didn't deserve to die,
you know, but.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Yeah, and I think it was so the scream as well.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
When everyone turns around, they're like what And what I
love is the little detail like you talking about the
production they showed Terry Silver increases faces and I just
this has made me being a bit of a reach.
But I think because they've been in wars, I was like,
they know what's just happened?
Speaker 2 (58:42):
They could tell they.
Speaker 3 (58:43):
Had heard a scream like that before, and I was
just like, they know, someone's just died. And then Daniel,
you know, he was Daniel was the only one who
saw that Quan had the knife. He's telling U no, no, no,
no no, and then he turns him over. That's that
visual of the knife straight in his chest.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
Like I'm just like, I was like, he ain't coming
back from that. That that's not one of them movie
deaths where he's going to come back and see.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
I just couldn't believe the show went that far.
Speaker 3 (59:15):
I thought, you know, they they've had characters die before,
but nothing like they haven't had a child.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
Like that's a bit far. I think they were. I
think they were planning on going out with a bang,
you know what I mean, because this was the last
season season, so like I think they were like, all right, well,
let's do everything we can because we're not sure if
anything's gonna come in this afterwards, you know what I mean.
So yeah, which at that point, gun through orders to
cut the.
Speaker 11 (59:40):
Television feeds, cut it, and that's the end of Party
Part two.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
And then oh my god, we had such a long
freaking break. Oh that was November to February. It was rough,
it was so hard. But Part three, uh, Part three.
I think Part three was my favorite of all of
the three parts of season six.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
I mean, like you said, I knew they would go
all out for the final five, but I just think
it was the most well done and the most kind
of everything coming together. Like I'm such a suck of
a happy endings, so I was just like, this is
for me, this is so perfect.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I think I had one.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
Kind of concern going into Part three, and it kind
of ended up being true. Kuwan's death was obviously very impactful,
but I think it wasn't really mentioned very much.
Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
They sort of brushed.
Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
I feel like they all just all the characters just
saw a child die, and not many people were really
impacted from it, Like you would think they'd all get
some serious PTSD or something, and it's like Crease perfect, Yes,
Daniel in the first episode and then he kind of
forgets about it, and even all the kids they're like, yeah,
let's just continue the tournament.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
As if a child didn't die, oh my god, like
there would be the CPS case, there would be a
whole bunch of a whole bunch of ship that place
would have got shut down that day that da it
would never have been another tournament.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Like that was that was my one kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
But it's again, they needed to you know, we got
to finish this. It's a drama. Like that's a lot
of drama, my dude, Like, oh yeah, so let's see
what happened at Okay following the incident at the Karatemi
(01:01:35):
there the funerals held in South Korea. Yes, in Korea, yes,
So they returning in the training singings forces u Uh
forces Young to brutally beat up his teammates.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
You know, that was that was difficult to watch. It
was very difficult doing.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Like and back home, Robbie Uh used trouble getting into college.
Daniel's in trouble for what had happened in Barcelona. Obviously,
Silver intercepts gun through Uh to get him to resume
the Pschinda Guy gun through.
Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
It didn't take much convincing. Yeah, it was like, you know,
it was like if everyone's on board, we could bring
it back. Like that's what it takes.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Died, It's all right.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Like.
Speaker 10 (01:02:22):
That was that was okay, He's like, let's do it.
Kid just died a month ago. Oh, well let's start
it right up, all right, right where we left off.
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
So, uh and then all they they all agreed obviously,
you know, Johnny agrees to return, but Daniel doesn't for reasons,
you know, I mean, he's he's got a soul, you
know what I mean. Like Johnny, I'm not so sure
at this point if he was so quick to go, yeah,
let's get it back.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Yeah, that was a bit strange. I thought maybe Johnny
would still kind of think maybe not, but he was.
Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
Like, the kid just died.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Man just died.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Like it's like it's not but no.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
But what did you think of Terry Silver revealing that
he's sick, that he's dying, because that had been a
theory for a while because in season five he said
a lot of kind of cryptic lines about you know,
life coming to an end and you're making a legacy
for yourself, and I was kind of like, why does
he keep saying this? And then he's that We see
(01:03:31):
him at the hospital in season five, and I just
assumed he was following Johnny and Carmen because he's crazy,
But no, he's sick.
Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
It was sly that is as a whole other dimension
of the character like like he's like, you know what,
I'm going to die. I'm going to go all out
to make sure people remember something.
Speaker 8 (01:03:52):
About literally you know what I mean, Like something like
he's that's somebody that know, if he wasn't such an asshole.
Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Uh, like in general, I kind of respect it. You know.
He's like, I'm going out anyway. I'm just gonna you
know what i mean, Like, but he's he's like an asshole. Like,
there's not Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to
redeem there's at all. I'm not trying to get vind
(01:04:25):
of it. But that that revelation, though, just adds a
lot more to and why he's doing things, you know
what I'm saying. So I can see why he's doing it.
It's not right, but I can see why he thinks
he should do it, you know what i mean. Like, uh,
but he's going with that's like some sauce ship, you
(01:04:48):
know what i mean, Like, you know, like that's Jake
saw stuff. He's like, I'm die of kidser anyway, I'm
gonna kill everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
That guy down with me kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
Yeah, So Johnny holds a meeting with Danielson right and
reveals that he wants a victory because he's we just
talked about this, you know, the terminal illness. And Dan
finally agrees to participate again he does, which is again,
(01:05:22):
I don't just because this guy is dying of cancer. Yeah,
you're gonna get back on what just to say what
you can beat a cancer patients? Ass? Fuck now? But
like Daniel, there's something wrong with you now, seriously, I should,
but I'm never gonna let win. Uh but uh uh.
(01:05:45):
And Dyon is eager to master, you know, to be
the master of the dojo. She kills her grandfather.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
Oh my god, So I kind of thought, you know,
master Cam he has to die at some point. How
he's even still We obviously did not know then when
he sort of said to her, like, if you want
to take over, you.
Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
Know what you have to do, I was like, she
actually going to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
And it was weird because when they were training, you know,
I didn't think that would be a technique that could
actually kill someone.
Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
I'm no, I don't know about fighting, but like you know,
I wasn't thinking about it like that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
And so then when she's doing it and it's like
stabbing at like like post points or whatever, it's like
that killed him and that was just I can't really
she again, we were talking about like missing me agi
killing someone like she and she found nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Like I know, he was not a good guy.
Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
You know, he seen he abused her as a child,
Like it's bad obviously, but she just murdered someone and
then went about her life.
Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
I guess they had to balance out the depth of
fucking you know the kid, so.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
I can kill someone else.
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
Okay, yeah, sure, yeah, you know, it's just balance in
the world. So really, young guys really asking, It's just
it's you know, it's yet and then increase.
Speaker 12 (01:07:07):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
So he decides to head back to the valley and
deal with his quote unquote unfinished business. Right, So what
do you at this point? I know you bingewashed it, right,
but what did you uh? What did What did you
think is unfinished business?
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
So I kind of thought it meant I thought it
was what ended up happening. I thought it was Torri,
it was Johnny, and it was Silver. I thought, you know,
he thankfully he was affected by Kwan's death, and I
think he was the correct character to really show that
because he had everything he's been through with the war
and then with Karate Kid and then come round everything,
(01:07:48):
you know, knowing that his teachings, he was a response
his knife.
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
If it wasn't there, Corn would have died. You know,
that would affect someone.
Speaker 3 (01:07:55):
I'm so glad that it did as that then being
a little bit late, but that being the realization.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
That Kiberris methods. It consumes you. It's it's bad, it's wrong.
You can't live your life like that.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
And I thought, I don't know how it's gonna go,
but I thought he needs to talk to Tori, you know,
talk to Johnny, and then Terry's over, and I'm really
glad it ends up going in that way.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
What did you think of it?
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
You know what I'm actually I thought the theme exact thing.
He needed to have that changeover, like he was the
guy to do it. Because quite frankly, even in the
I hate to keep going back to the original movies,
but when you go back to the original movies, you
see that the guy he didn't he actually cared about
(01:08:40):
his students, not just you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
he did take the time to do stuff like and
and get to know Johnny and yeah, for sure, So
it was like he kind of had this fatherly thing
with him already that he kind of needed to I
guess atone for like his other attitude, like he need
do its own and make up for because he was
(01:09:02):
such a actual bother figure beyond mental abuse, you know,
and like that get him to No Mercy and all
that ship. But like he he really needed that Silver.
No he's a villain to the end, and he's you know, yeah,
but Crease definitely I think he because he was also
(01:09:23):
fucking fuck mentally by Silver, you know what I'm saying. Like,
so it was also kind of another like he's got
to make up for that type of ship now too,
and what happened to you know, the knife and he's like, yeah,
it was the best best thing for them to do
is to give him that redemption. I think.
Speaker 11 (01:09:45):
What they.
Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
I think they went a little overboard at the end
quite frank really and but uh let's say.
Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
But up at that point, like they're all right, we'll
get to that because we're talking about it. Uh but uh,
episode twelve.
Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
I think we're at the they just agreed to uh
have the remainder of the tournament in the valley in Miagui,
do home field advantage and Hawk and Dmitri developed an
AI training simulation to help Robbie.
Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
Yes, that was so funny, turning McGaw into acts.
Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
So I thought that was brilliant, It was cover, It
was very clever.
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
I thought that was cooled Robbie learning in that in
that way, and it helped him, you know, he was
able to end up getting a few hits of acts.
So I love episode twelve. That was my favorite episode
of part three personally. I think the Robbie and Hawke,
Dmitri and Miguel thing and then Johnny trying to propose
that that was hilarious that month in cutting the Flowers class,
(01:11:04):
it was so funny, and then getting calm and going
into labor and Bobby coming back.
Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
Bobby. Yeah, I was just gonna say, what did you
think about Bobby coming back? I love baby. That was great.
Absolutely loved them.
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
And then the engagement, wedding and baby and then naming
their baby after Johnny's mom.
Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
I absolutely loved that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
That was a good end of And it goes into
the next one. Uh, you know, all the dojos are
preparing and uh what was it? Oh yeah, without Cobra Kai,
Like there's doubts that you know they're going to be there.
Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
Yeah, that was interesting because they just I know why
they ended up. We also know why they ended up
doing it, but I thought, you know, I don't know why,
like from the perspective of like GUNTHERER and the other
people in charge for the tournament, Like if com I
aren't there, now, why are they going to suddenly come
in at the last minute, Like here's someone to replace Kwan?
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Like that was never going to happen, but like it
made set.
Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
We know why they did it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:16):
But yeah, Episode thirteen is a really interesting episode because
it's kind of an episode of Too Hard. You've got
the sort of optimistic kind of at the beginning, you know,
like Robbie he can have his moment, he can beat
Axel and.
Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
Then Terry Silver.
Speaker 3 (01:12:32):
Silver because of course, in classic Silver fashion, he doesn't
want to just win. You have to win definitively, and
he convinces Axel to go after Robbie's knee and I
don't know how he was able.
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
To disguise it in a way they didn't get him disqualified.
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
But oh well, and that the snap of Robbie's knee,
the scream every oh my god, that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
Kind of broke something in me. Honestly, it was brutal.
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
It was brutal, But I loved the scene of Robbie
and Johnny in the locker room afterwards, when Robbie was
reflecting and he was saying, you know, it's okay, I've
got all these other things in my life, and when
he said, like.
Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
It's given me my dad, I cried. I was in tears.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
That was so sweet. That brought back to the Karate
Kid movie with the tournament. Yes, Daniel was in the
locker room, and you know, we love the parallel. I
was like that, Oh, I love how they're doing this,
Like they bring it back and make you think about
the old stuff, but they're not like duplicating it. Yeah,
(01:13:38):
like parallels. And I'm like, this is very well written.
The show is very very well written. Yeah, I'm like,
and I really again it makes me say that it's
oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
But then of course that leads to Sam dropping out unfortunately,
but you know it kind of makes sense.
Speaker 1 (01:13:56):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
They they were really down in points like Sam would
have had to decimate every single part, like.
Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
It just wouldn't have wapped.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
And then Johnny finds out about this and we get
one of the best scenes in the entirety. We were
just about crazy, you know, we had this the scene
we'd have been waiting for since The Karate Kid too,
Johnny being that vulnerable child again essentially to craz What
did you think of that scene?
Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
Best acting? Oh show?
Speaker 14 (01:14:27):
Oh maybe a freaking incredible. He should have gotten a
fucking for this and Emmy, Yeah, he better. He should
definitely get an Emmy, especially again for somebody who was
just the kick.
Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
Fodder in the first movie, like at the end, like
to be this dynamic character that they like, I don't like.
It's it's ridiculous how good of an actor's actually is.
And to make you be like he had like this
whole like like it brought you back to make like
(01:15:05):
it made you feel like that he actually was like
you know, he was like tearing, he felt he wanted
to cry, Like I know, he's like you know what
I mean that you got that father thing back, Like
he's like, oh, like I was so moved there you go.
(01:15:27):
I couldn't. And if you haven't watched it, people, please
go back and at least watch that episode, Like if
you for just that scene at the end, like you're
gonna you're gonna appreciate zabka.
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
Yeah, he's finally apologizing as well, and it's just amazing.
And the second when Chris says like I wish I
could make it up to you and Johnny's.
Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
Like, maybe you can. I was like, I know exactly
why this is good.
Speaker 12 (01:15:52):
This position to Johnny maybe, and that scene when thunderstruck
play and you got Johnny, I'm the goal, I'm Torri
in the I g kaik gaze.
Speaker 1 (01:16:05):
Wow. Yeah it's and then then again then that leads
up to yeah, two more episodes left. Uh so opens
up with Daniel buys the old Joe from Army. Uh
(01:16:26):
my man, Like that that was that got me right
there too. I'm like, all right, he he actually thinks
Johnny is a is a friend or a brother right now?
Like I love that. It's like they've truly bonded down,
like where Daniel's like and he gives me give him
a job, you know what I'm saying, Like Danny gave
him a job at his at his company so you
(01:16:47):
can save money. Like now he brought Cobra kai for
him and like it's sweet. It is sweet, Like I
was like, is good. I'm like Dan you're you're you're,
you're redeeming yourself in my eyes for having three moves
trying to train these children now, so the bottom so
(01:17:13):
he could train Tory Miguel, you know, the right way
before the finals, you know what I mean. Yeah, And
Johnny advised Miguel that after everything he's been through, he
should fight for him first and foremost in the you
know what I mean, Like, so just fight for himself,
don't don't fight for fight for you, which is I
like that.
Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
It's a very good message.
Speaker 1 (01:17:33):
It's a good message, you.
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Know, And it shows how much Johnny has grown as well,
like how much Miagi Doo has. He's the one with yes,
fight for revenge, like get their asses, but like, no,
you can't do that. You're just gonna lose because you're
looking at it from the wrong perspective.
Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
And I just think it was so impactful and that
you know, it worked my girl one. So yeah, and
I love those fights.
Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
I think Torrian's are is a great fight and went
in the knocking her teeth. I forgot about that, Yeah,
and then.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Mcgow and Axel. I think he's a great fight. I
think it's amazing them winning. I was not expecting that.
I mean, like I know that the points then ends
up being tied, but I was kind of like a
sensory division, really, but I thought it was it was
an interesting kind of sort of cliffhanger, if you will.
But episode fourteen can end on then very siffy lead
into the finale. But that was not just the end
(01:18:36):
of episode fourteen, because we were to about Terry Silver increase,
and we had the amazing increase in Johnny moment and
then Terry Silver He's on his boat, He's got Dennis,
and quite literally everything exploded. I always knew I had
(01:18:57):
a feeling they were going to die, and I thought,
like they have to die, like they can't. They can't
end the show with Creas and so they were still alive.
But I wouldn't have thought they die in that way.
But I kind of love it, like I think it's
so chaotic in the best possible way. And I think
it's again with Creese's redemption. I think the fact that
he was he knew what he was, he knew that
(01:19:18):
he would die by putting that cigar in the oil,
so I just thought he was content in that moment.
He's like he's made omens of Tory and Johnny. As
long as Silver goes as well, he can also go.
And I thought that's so poetic.
Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
I think he also thought that there might have been
a slim chance that Silver could have been surviving his
terminal illness. You know what I'm saying, I finish this
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Yeah, I'm not letting you Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
I see. That's see. I like that again, the uh
Crease was such a good archer in the show, and
he needed to do redemption and Silver needed to go out.
I think in a blaze of not so glory but gory.
(01:20:07):
He ran out in a spectacular way with all the
bullshit that he had caused. He needed to go out,
you know what I mean, like in a big yea.
So now there last episode is is is like crazy Johnny.
(01:20:30):
In beginning, he starts to prepare for his fight against
and you know, with Daniel Josen Uh. Daniel explains that
whether he wins or loses his fight, he already has
a family and he knows already one life, you know,
blah blah blah. And they begin training, which again Johnny looks.
Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
Like he kind of hits home.
Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
You know that he gets that kind of look like
you know what I mean, like, yeah, and the best
around comes back finally.
Speaker 1 (01:20:56):
Yes, yes, and and you know, basically it's it's what
we thought was gonna happen. In the last episode. A
lot there was you know, epic speeches, there was you know, fights,
there was you know, and and Johnny uh, you know,
(01:21:18):
he he wins the winning point against Well and then
declared Cobra Kai the.
Speaker 4 (01:21:25):
Champions of the s.
Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
Babic because I thought Dough was gonna do it. What
did I want to win? I'm glad Cobra Kai. The
show is called Cobra Cott this show, I get it.
It's fine, Like and I'm glad that they did. You know,
(01:21:51):
at the end they decided again to keep collaborating, you know.
Speaker 13 (01:21:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:21:58):
The sweet Hard of Mine montage that had me in tears,
I just that was.
Speaker 15 (01:22:05):
So beautiful, joining Carmen getting the house, Sam Miguel is
changing their presence, Robbie and Tory being like the doing
the commercial things, Hawkin's Meitri going to cal Tech, it was.
Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
Chosen going to Korea to be with Kim. It was
so sweet.
Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
And then the final few scenes mcguel and Sam going
to Okinhaur together I absolutely loved that.
Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
Then my favorite couple in the show. I thought that
was great.
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
The Johnny putting his photo by his mum's grave, I loved.
And then like you were saying, Johnny and Daniel still collaborating,
I thought it was. It was a perfect ending to
a perfect show.
Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
Yes, sick, how do you think it's going to lead
into this new karate? See?
Speaker 3 (01:22:53):
That's the thing I thought I would know. I thought
the finale will give us more answers. The only thing
we know we know it set three years after Cobra Kaie.
So I don't know because in the train of like
me are you don't looks like it hasn't been used
in a while, Like well, I mean, but Daniel still
a sense at the end, I'm not really sure.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Maybe Daniel might be in this mayvie as much as
we think he's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
I don't know, but I'm very excited and I hope
that we get like some mentions of the other characters,
like we just see kind of what they're up to
and stuff like if Daniel's like.
Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
Oh Sam and it's doing whatever, Johnny's doing.
Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
This, I just think, oh that's cool. But Yeah, it
was amazing. It was amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:23:37):
I'm very happy with the conclusion. I am curious as
to how they're going to do these spinoffs they are
going through with their plans and what spin offs exactly.
Speaker 16 (01:23:52):
Yeah, me too, because there's a few ways they can
go as far as I'm concerned, chosen, like I said,
Iron Dragons, even a continuing should of like what we
talked about, howckey, you know, yeah, we should also consider
that it might not be called Cobra Kai, but it
could also follow the students again, you know what I mean, like.
Speaker 1 (01:24:15):
Fall something else and just come back and not have
the same characters, but follow the same you know, type
of deal, like you know, with the different schools and stuff. Now,
like it doesn't have to be just focused on the one,
you know, one or two and give the backstories of
these other.
Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
Schools and stuff and all this stuff coming down and.
Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
The consequences of the fallout after Cobra KAII you know
what I'm saying, Like after this, what happened, you know
after So I'm kind of looking forward to the future
going to see the movie. It comes out May twenty seven, Yeah,
which is good. That's eleven days after my birthday, So
I think I will be going to see that, and
(01:24:53):
hopefully if you are going to see it, I will
see it too, and we will talk about that when
it comes out. I'm not super excited, Eleanor. We have
been on here for a couple of hours now, so
it's been amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
I was like, we've got to do that.
Speaker 1 (01:25:10):
No, this is awesome. I really we should just get
back and talk about other stuff too. Whatever you're you know,
I agree, So we'll make them work that out and
we'll get back together. I'm gonna call it now because
we have been on here for almost two hours now going.
It's been fun though, I've it went by super fast.
