Tra i più longevi e popolari procedural seriali, Criminal Minds, celebre serie americana in onda dal 2005 al 2020 (e rilanciata nel 2022 con Evolution, tutta su Dinsey+), è esempio perfetto della vocazione consumistica e consolatoria del giallo televisivo prime time. In ogni sua antologica puntata si affronta un serial killer, che costituisce uno “strappo” del tessuto sociale. E lo si ‘risolve’ - nel senso che lo si ferma, arresta, uccide ecc. Soprattutto lo si comprende. Ad ogni modo lo strappo viene ricucito, la società torna ad essere al sicuro.
