Speaker 1 (00:00):
I think a lot of people think that, like, I'm
just like Kate to you, Kate Gosslin. Yeah, from the
show in that it's like very much show editing, but
even like social media. I think we've been at fights before.
Every now and then couples fight, obviously, and every now

(00:20):
and then I'll call you Kate, just to.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Get under your scheme. Okay, Kate, Okay, be real. Do
you have a favorite child?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
This is More Than Reality podcast where we dive into
all things faith, family, and marriage and share that there
is so much more than the reality that you see
on the surface. Welcome to More Than Reality with Adam
and Danielle Busby.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Welcome Sophie, Tom Daniel's taking Selphie's in the intro Welcome
to More Than Reality Podcast, Episode thirty four, and the
last few episodes, I feel like I've got like tooken
tooken real have taken like a turn and so got
a little bit serious, a little bit emotional stuff like that.

(01:16):
So we're like, let's do one. It's a little bit
more fun and lighthearted. I don't know, we may end
up going that way. It seems like all of our
podcasts end up due. So we'll see how it goes.
We're real, We're more than reality. This is episode thirty four.
I don't know. We just like to end up getting
serious or emotional and stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Emotional the way it wants to emotional, meaning like Tara
and Crime then mess up, makeup and then you got
a snotty nose and you're gonna get a headache.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It feels good to cry every now and then it does,
it does. So what's up? This Week's been a blur
for me? Same here.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Well, it's just been like a week of you like
a lot of travel and stuff, but the kids and
like there's just so much happening day to day this
week because it's like the last week of school and
it's like activity activity, activity at school thing, a school thing,
a school.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Thing, like awards, banquets and class parties and end of
the year stuff and just so much back and forth.
And like had two like award ceremonies just this week. Yeah,
and then we.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah, but I will say I did find time to
start decluttering upstairs to get the carpet clean, which I'm
super excited about today because our carpet upstairs, our house,
forget we have quintuplets.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Our house was somewhat at a point where it was
like borderline, we kind of needed new carpet even whenever
we bought the house. But I'm like, no, there's no
way were three three year olds moving into a new house. No,
we're not changing the carpets until they're like old enough
to not smear makeup into the carpet and like play
with slim upstairs and stuff like that. So I just refuse,

(02:57):
We're not We're not putting new carpets up there until there.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Remember that day that they brought a towel upstairs one
morning and put paint, brought the paint, but they put
a towel down like a beach took because they know
they're not supposed to have it upstairs. And it's still
got all over the floor. Remember that, So we have
stains from that, Like the carpets getting clean today, and
I'm super excited about me.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Are we curious to see what all comes out? Same?
Hopefully that's some really hot steam.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, hen shampoo and snow.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I'm not very hopeful. Anyway, Today's episode is gonna be fun.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
We're gonna do kind of like blind Q and A
so usually do those connect cards, but we're gonna do
like an episode of have like these lists of questions,
but we're not going to read them until it's time
to ask the question, because Adam wants to preread them,
and I'm like no, because then you already know what
the questions are going to be and do a little
bit of banter and stuff. But I thought it was

(04:00):
fun to just ask some fun questions and see what
comes up. You never know what Adam is going to
say when it comes if it's gonna be real or
if it's going to be sarcasm.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
So we'll see it's about. It could be a mix of.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Like marriage, family, parenting, fay, like all the things, just life.
Smoking meat, Smoking meat? That was the last episode? Was
that last episode. I'm still laughing about that, Like where
you said one thing that you wish I cared more about,
something that you care about that I care about, and

(04:35):
you were like smoking meat. I'm still like, Nope, I
don't know, but what's what's the meat temperature today?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
What's the meat? I don't want to be the only
one in the house excited about it other than just like,
oh it's ready. That's exciting that part right there.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I don't want to do all day, just trying to
cook meat all day.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
A lot of work goes into I know it's an art. Well,
I'm glad you have that for you. That's your time.
I actually bought a new cook kind of like a
grilling smoking like cookbook this week from Matt Groork. I
pre ordered it. It's a buddy of mine that like

(05:19):
I know from my Instagram and just like cooking content
and we talk back and forth every now and then.
But he's got a new cookbook coming out and it's
really cool because he's been like talking about it this
whole week and he's super excited about it. He incorporated
a lot of stuff with their family and stuff in it,
and his wife took all the photos and it's just
kind of been a labor of love and so cute.

(05:40):
I told him. I was like, I'll ordered one and
ask for you to send me one for free, but
because a lot of people just will, but like I
reached out to him first and I'm like, hey, I'm
buying it before you even had the chance to say
he'd send me one. YEA, Yeah, that's cool. I can't
wait to see it. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
So summer is approaching and like basically today is like
the last day of school. Tomorrow's half day, and so
we and then then what and then what? Then we
go out of town for a little summer kickoff.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
We have a Friday Friday night, we have this like
gala and Nashville at the Gay Lord. I totally forgot
we have to go to Nashville. And then we were
we were gonna be staying a night in Nashville and
then going to Indianapolis early Saturday morning. But now now
I think we're gonna go to the gala and then
just drive straight to Indianapolis Friday night. So we're wake

(06:37):
up in Indianapolis for all the stuff going on. We
got a bunch of like people coming in staying at
our suite, kind of showing around, like a bunch of
like driver interaction stuff and museum stuff and just different
things around the track. On Saturday, and then obviously Sunday
it's just and I still don't know what I'm gonna wear.

(07:00):
Last weekend was like crazy. I was up there for
qualifying our driver, Scott McLaughlin draws the Yellow pins Oil
Yellow Submarine, and I mean he was doing awesome. His
car was dialed in, got all the way through first
round of qualifying, so he made it into the top twelve.
And then Sunday morning they had like a practice session

(07:21):
that is immediately before they're like top twelve qualifying, So
eighty five hundred, there's like thirty four drivers, thirty four
drivers that are competing to actually race in the race.
Eventually one person is going to get bumped because their
car's not fast enough, and so Saturday they whittle all

(07:45):
the cars down. Everybody qualifies and they lock in position
thirteen through thirty, and those people just wherever their times are.
They're thirteen through thirty. Then the next day it's the
fast twelve cars go through another like all their scores
and everything go out the window. And then they're qualifying

(08:06):
again for the fastest twelve and they're trying to get
the fastest six out of that twelve. So then position
seven through twelve get locked in and then they have
another round. All those all those numbers go out the window.
Then it's one through six. They do it again, and
then that gets like the first first two rows in order.

(08:27):
But Scott it was heartbreaking because he had the he
had just recorded it was going around in practice and
they're they're just trying. They're just obviously going as fast
as they can, trying to get the cars dialed in,
getting ready for Fast twelve. And he had just recorded
the fastest time in practice, Like he was the top

(08:48):
car out there, top driver out there, And I was down.
I was taking photos at the time, and I was
in Turn one and I was just catching them as
he came around the front stretch turning into Turn one,
coming at me, and then they'd fly by, and I
was just taking a sequence of photos as he was
coming through and coming right at me, and he had
just recorded fastest speed. He blew by me, and then

(09:11):
I just heard boom. I'm so scar And I turned
around and looked and his car was just in pieces.
Just he lost control, lost traction, and I mean it
was a bad, scary wreck. Luckily he walked away from it,
but the car was toast and so they had to

(09:33):
like he didn't make that, he didn't make the top
twelve qualifying because he just didn't have a car. Because
literally it was within like three hours. There's no way
they could have built a whole new car in three
hours ready to compete with the fastest car sit for
the race. There was a bunch of other drama that
happened with the other Penske cars and some modifications and
stuff that didn't pass inspections, so he ended up getting

(09:57):
bumped from twelve to ten. So he's to be starting
in position ten, so he'll be in the inside spot,
qualifying spot in the fourth row starting the Indy five hundred.
So hopefully this week they have his car fine tune
like like the last one was, and he's ready to
compete because if he if his car was as fast

(10:20):
as it was that morning, he has a really good
potential win it. But who knows. It's Indy five hundred
and a lot of crazy stuff's happened, staff happens. We'll see.
It could be a very exciting day, could just be
like any other five hundred, but we'll see. Yeah, it'll
be fun. I know that it'll be Daniels first, and

(10:41):
it's a sold out grandstands are completely sold out. It's
the first Indy five hundred with a sellout crowd since
twenty sixteen, so it'll be well over probably close to
four hundred thousand people if not more. There all the
grand stands are sold out and plus and then they
also will sell teap seats and just see just passes
to get into the infield and people can sit out

(11:03):
on the grass and stuff like that. So you can
fit a lot of people in there. So who knows
how many, but it'll be a lot of people, So
a lot of people. I'm glad the kids are not
going this time. Yeah. I mean I've been to a
few Indy five hundreds and I just don't want to
don't want to deal with six kids trying to fight
crowds with six kids, no, thank you. Maybe one or

(11:26):
two wouldn't be as bad, but six it's a lot. Yeah,
So just me and mom. So before we get into
the topic for today, we're going to tell you a
little bit about our sponsor today. Our sponsor is Cozy Earth.
And whenever we so how all this works, peel back

(11:48):
behind the curtain, you know, whenever we're looking at sponsors
and stuff like, our agency will bring us stuff and
it's if it's either stuff that we've used, stuff that
we want to use, or uh just stuff that we like.
We pass on a lot of stuff, but Cozy Earth
we are super excited about because we've tried it, we

(12:08):
love it. And so it was like it was like
a complete no brainer to us, and so we love
the product. We love man don't want to get out
of bed like the sheets. The sheets are just so soft,
like a silky soft like bamboo.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
But not like cold, like they still feel like super
soft sheets, but they keep you cool. But then they're
like silky soft, but they're not silk. Yeah, these sheets
are amazing as well as the pj's the lounge. Whereas
that that they offer, you know, their their mission is
to like transform like that five to nine, to like

(12:50):
make it the most cozy, superable and cozy part of
your day. And let me tell you, there's not a
day that I don't think about I just want to
get in my bed.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yeah. So if you're just if you're even just toying
around with and thinking about trying a product, try out
the sheets. You get one hundred nights sleep guarantees, so
you can try them out for one hundred nights, which
I don't think you'll be returning to those once you
try them, but you got one hundred nights to try
them out and give them a test drive. Use the
code more than for forty percent off of your Cozy

(13:23):
Earth anything at cozier dot com. That's right, So go
to cozyearth dot com where Sanctuary waits at Cozy Earth. Yeah,
then we'll get back. Thanks cozierspe Yeah, thank you Cozier Earth.
Thank you Cozy Earth for a sponsoring this podcast. All right,
so we'll get back to the topic today. There's actually

(13:44):
lots of topics because we're doing a Q and A.
There's lots of them. Well, yeah, because each question is
like a topic.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Oh, so I'm going first, I'm going to ask you
first pick a number one.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
It's almost like this whole episode is kind of like
a connect card, but they're just fun. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
So hopefully I have ten questions here and so I'm
gonna ask you pick a number one through ten and
that's what.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I'm gonna read. Oh really, that's what I'm gonna do
right now, like I hold my fate. Mm hm. So
I'm giving you a number m M one to ten seven.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
What's your favorite dad joke moment that the girls just
rolled their eyes at.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Do you have a dad joke? I always just have
like such sarcastic random thoughts. I remember, actually looking back,
I don't know, all the girls usually like my dad
jokes though, do you have one right now? I can't
think I'm having brain fog right now, but I remember
like multiple episodes on the TV show, like it's us

(14:43):
just like in the car whenever we're just having conversations
with the kids and like just one randomly will come
to mind, and uh, but it's funny because that's all
filmed and so you can like see the kids reaction
like in real time, like whenever I say it. Yeah,
and so yeah, I can't think of a dad joke
right now. Okay, Well that was lame. I mean, this

(15:03):
is what happens whenever you put me on the spot sets.
That's why I want.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
To It's okay, I'm gonna go to the next one.
Finish this sentence. Me you're doing too Me. That wasn't
a good answer. We're making this up as we go today.
Finish the statement sentence. Danielle's superpower is sleeping.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Oh I love it. I do love sleep, because you
knows and macOS here it's probably not her superpower though.
I have to make myself go to sleep though kind
kind of do you struggle getting to sleep? But whenever
you do, you don't want to wake up?

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yeah? Yeah, because like me, sleeping probably is one of
my superpowers because I can sleep at any time through anything. Yeah,
it might be more my sleep superpower than yours. Yeah,
so what's better? But I just wake up early early though,
become an early riser, so it would be my superpower.

(16:02):
Just a badass working under pressure. I feel like that
should be a song under pressure. I think it is.
I don't working well under pressure. Yeah, like whenever it
comes to like just like high pressure situations. I mean
that's usually like whenever I don't know, people probably don't
like me whenever I'm in like high pressure situations because

(16:25):
like I get really quiet, like I seclude myself and
become mean, and like I'm just like super driven, like
gotta get this done. Nobody, like, nobody mess with me,
leave me alone, because focus is gonna go like this, Yes,
I get it's gonna I'll lose focus so fast, and
so I just have to lock myself away. So like

(16:45):
I'm like a recluse whenever it comes to needing to
get stuff done. Yeah, but Daniel works great under pressure.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Oh you're gonna ask me one of those questions number two,
number two picked one.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Okay, be real, do you have a favorite child today.
Absolutely not today. No, that's like I don't have a
favorite child. They are all different and all have like
different specialties. But I love all my children the same.

(17:23):
That is a true statement. I was just looking at
me like I need to change my answer. I'm like, no,
I thought I thought because I said today today, you
might have a different answer. Well, it hit me up
in the summer when they're around twenty four to seven,
and I probably do need to like brag a little

(17:44):
bit about Blake though. Today. Oh yeah, so today Blake
had like her it was probably more like the acad Yeah,
it was an academic type awards at school today. So
once from the school, the teachers, we gotta we got
an email saying, hey, come to this award banquet. Your
child's going to receive an award. But they don't say
like what it is or anything like that. You have

(18:05):
no clue. And you know, Blake does well in school
and so I mean she's like makes as and b's
and stuff like that. So we're like, oh, it's probably
just you know, a and B award like typical thing.
You sit there for close to two hours and she
walks up on stage once and so.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
It's long and they're the AC wasn't working. There issues
with that, like it just started late.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
It was a long day. But they do all these
all this list of awards, like I mean, how many
kids are in Blake School, I don't know, times a lot,
and it takes a while. But then they saved this
award for very last. It's like they're like award for all,
like it did the kid that exemplifies all of the

(18:49):
the aspirations and standards and stuff of what they want
a student to be at the school like character, integrity, leadership,
you know, all these respect Yeah. Yeah, and and Blake
won the award. Yeah, and we're like, man, that's like
they should have asked the parents to come up there,

(19:10):
because that's like that's like a parent award.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Super proud, I mean like super proud to like her
to get all a's and b's, Like that's awesome, but
like to get that award to me was like, wow.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah, that probably matters to us. It probably matters. It
matters more than just like getting good grades.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Yeah, because that shows that I feel like the Blake
that we know and like want to raise is the
Blake that they're seeing.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Yeah, and so I love that I loved.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
And this was the very last award and we're like
a hour and a half in and we're like so
ready to go. We're like finally we're at the end.
And we didn't know we were gonna get in there,
like Blake bustman.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
I'm like, oh my god, my phone, Like I didn't
even know.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
But I mean, I know in my heart, but I
didn't know that y'all. Y'all she was gonna get an
award for it. So I didn't really get any good
pictures or a video or anything. And I was like, wait,
what's this award for?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Because I was like zoned out by the We're like
an hour and forty five minutes in. Yeah, I'm like, gosh,
when is this going to end? It's hot in here.
Un of a sudden, you hear Blake's name. Aren't you
glad you didn't go to the bathroom at that point? Bathroom?

Speaker 1 (20:23):
That was funny. But yeah, So it's a good day.
What a way to end and wrap up middle school.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yeah, getting that award, super proud of that. That's what
I was gonna think. Oh, Blake, it's your favorite today.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
All right, Adam, what's one thing you swore you'd never
do as a dad, but you totally do it now.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Like you're like, oh my god, I'm never going to
do that as a dad, but then you do it.
M hmm. That's what I would never do as a dad.
Like are there annoying dad things that you've seen done?
You're like, oh my.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
God, I will never do that with with my kids,
but then you do it.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Not really, so you're just all around. I mean I
would probably have to say annoying things that you see.
It'll probably it would probably involve sports, like whenever.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Oh my god, yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Like I'm that dad.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
You're the cheer mom, but you're the dad. Yeah, And
it doesn't matter if it's your kids or watching a
friend's kids or a niece or nephew, you're that cheer
mom dad.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Especially like if I feel like I know, like better
than the coach, or like I see something that like
the ref are refs, Like wait.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Wait, what did you just say when I think I
know better than the coach?

Speaker 2 (21:52):
That's pretty funny. Yeah, And so I'm just that very
vocal dad. And it's probably mostly been for Blake though.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
No, babe, Like do you remember when we went to
go watch Kyler play baseball, and you were so embarrassing
because you're yelling at the ref and he almost kicked
you out, And I'm like, this isn't even our kid,
and he's family, but like he's not our child.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
One referees like totally blow a blatant call on the
soccer field.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, yeah, I guess so. And I've
kind of been more surprised. I'm not surprised by like
the focus of like get it right and do it
the best kind of a thing, but like you're not
a very like loud person. Yeah, but when you are

(22:42):
watching a sport, especially one with kids in that we
know that are playing, like you're obnoxious, you get fired up.
It's like you know when you know when Hazel gets mad,
Like Hazel's sweetest.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Is from like one to and eleven, and like, yeah,
and that's that's you. She gets that from you. Like there's.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
When Adam's watching somebody play a game and he thinks
he knows better than the coach, which she just said
it's like one hundred.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Did you see that? Speaking of Hazel, did you see
that thing this week? This lady that says that redheads
are black. Huh she said all red what? I don't know,
she said, did you read it? What did she say?

(23:37):
Anybody anybody in the world that has red hair is black?
What do you mean? Like, I don't know. It's confusing,
but that's what she said. So I want to know
right now how that happened. It doesn't make sense. I
don't understand the statement. It's it was the most. It

(23:59):
was the most We're saying, Like I heard it on
the radio coming home. They were like just you know,
two DJs they're just kind of talking about like topics
of the day, and it was like they brought up
this lady that was like on social media talking about
and she she made this comment saying that every redhead
in the world is like black. That's so weird. And

(24:23):
so since then I've seen like five or sex videos
on social media about like like black guys with their
red head friend. They're like welcome to the team and
like giving them their their black starter kit.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
It's a it says gingers are black trend on TikTok. Yeah,
redheads are now the black people of white people.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
What.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Well, I don't get it. But I don't get it either.
I don't know why she said that. I don't think
there's any kind of evidence like that supports it. I
don't know what. I don't know, but I thought it
was funny.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
As a ginger, I am very confused, but happy to
be invited to the cookout.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
So it guess Hazel's got a little bit more streecred.
Oh get it? Orange is the New Black? Like the show?
Is there a new season coming out or something? That's
why she said it? No way, I don't think it
has anything to do with that. That show has been
off air for ever. And yeah, so I don't know.
I didn't see that. That was a tangent. Sorry, I

(25:31):
chased it where you went? I chased that rabbit? Sorry,
I ask you one. Oh yeah, that is just so random.
Oh way I read them. What's something people think about
you from social media that isn't true? A lot?

Speaker 1 (25:56):
I mean a lot of people think that a lot
of things. I think a lot of people think that,
like I'm just like Kate to you, Kate Goslin. Yeah,
from the show in that it's like.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Very much show editing. But even like social media, I
think we've been at fights before. Every now and then
couples fight obviously, and every now and then I'll call
you Kate just to get under your scheme, Okay, Kate.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
But it's more so that like I'm not and I've
said this behind the scenes filming a supset, Like I
get her aspect of like the control of like a
routine and you have to follow some type of schedule.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
But guess what items all on board for having.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
A routine that I have to lead in a way
because that's not his gifts and if.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
We didn't have that, we would be a total health Yeah,
And I think a little bit of the like, but.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
I think because it's a lot of like they don't
people don't see like the inside of the humor and
like the starcasm, like even even on like if I
comment on something that you comment and then I'll get
like hate off of my comment to you just being starcastic.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
But you know what I'm saying, They don't. I'm like,
well then then you don't know us. I think like
kind of peeling back the curtain a little bit, just
so like in the TV show, there's a lot of
things that Daniel and I agreed upon, like parenting style,
like we were like like all that kind of stuff.
We're on the same page probably ninety percent of the time,

(27:47):
if not more, but filming a TV show, there has
to be conflict, and so you know, you have to
have some sort of tension to keep of your intrigued
intrigued and wanting to watch the show and see like
what's going to happen next or what's going on and
all this stuff, and so like, there was so many

(28:11):
of those conversations as we're filming the TV show because
they would ask us, like, you know, if we're going
through something with the kids, or we're trying to make
a decision as a family, or and we're like, yeah,
this is what we say. Ye Like wait, both of
us will just like say something. We're like yeah, yeah,
like we agree, and they're like, wait, no, we can't
do that, Like one of y'all has to at least

(28:34):
come to that result, but can we Like yeah, ultimately
we're gonna get there, but one of y'all at least
needs a somewhat played devil's advocate and and guests who
usually got picked just because Danielle's more of like the headstrong,
task oriented like black and white planner stuff like that.
So it was always like Danielle was the one that like,

(28:57):
oh no, like it needs to be like this, and
I'm like more of dreamer and like, oh, like, let's
let's do this or let's have fun or whatever. So
that's how I wish portrayed most of the time. It's
just like, oh, yeah, we'll get to there, but like
let's have some fun first, you know, or something like that.
And then they wanted Danielle just to be like and
I'm like, let's get it done and have fun later. Yeah,

(29:17):
but it does put a this like negative spin on
just like Danielle, you know, in editing, because it's like
you never let out him do what he wants and
if you only knew.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
I think, honestly, I actually think the older older people get,
the more the more selfish they get, because you get
to where.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
You get sett in your ways, setting your.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Ways, but then you get to the like I Don't
Care club, which that's that lady up and following on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Who I love she has I Don't Care club, Yes,
and she's so on point with everything that she sends.
She shares. She'll be like I'm sorry, she's like she
puts a nap and suss like.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
That I don't founding member of the we don't care club,
And then she'll say, I'm going to read are we
do not.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Care statements for the day. I do not care?

Speaker 1 (30:15):
No we because this is about people in the club club,
the people who don't care, like and she'll says, we
do not care if the front of our hair is
done in the back is not, y'all are the ones
looking at the back we do not care? Just funny

(30:35):
things like that, like I uh, I'm trying to the
other ones that she's I mean, it's just they're all
so good.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
They're all so good.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
So I've been sending to all the friends who are
going through it's all about like going through like this
perrymnopause minnopause like statements, and I just think it like
my aunts and aunt Lynnette like telling me, I remember
when she was like in her forties and we were like, oh,
you need to shave her legs and she's like, I
just don't care, and like hello, that's like so me. Now,

(31:06):
I'm like me and I haven't seen my legs and
forever or you're gonna see like my ankles.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
I'll just shave like the bottom two inches of we
do not care anyway. That makes me laugh and you're
like this is boring.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Uh, all right, Adam, what's the weirdest thing you've ever
seen me do? This says as a mom, But what's
the weirdest thing you've ever seen me do? As a
mom or not a mom? I mean, yeah, I mean stuff,
but I don't know's.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
It's things like out of the norm necessity and like
out of the norm of like a normal situation. So
like having six babies, like in a huge packing play
baby gate situation in the living room and you just
need to prep to leave the house or prep dinner

(32:06):
or wash dishes or whatever's going on. And I mean
the floor was clean, but you would just take like
they're like little puffs, the little puff snacks, and like
all the babies are just like standing at the gate,
like winding because they want out. You know, anytime there's
a barrier, they want through it. And you would just

(32:27):
go over to the edge of the thing and just
like sprinkle all the snacks in the ground and they're
just like like cold chickens. I remember all Hunter saw
that for some this lady's crazy it's going on here
builds their immune system yeah. I mean I didn't do
it out in like pump To this day, our kids
have great immune systems, so it could be a parenting

(32:47):
hack how to feed more kids that want time sprinkle
on the floor, sprinkle snacks. And now it's like always
a like I even like bring this up with the girls,
Like if we're like going out out of town for
like two days or something like that, They're like, who's
going to watch the dogs? Well, let's just sprinkle some snacks.
They'll be fine. They're like, what, No, all right, what

(33:12):
is the funniest or strangest DM you've ever gotten? I
remember this could out somebody that may be watching this episode.
I don't want to pull it up right now. Gotten
one recently. I just remember a.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
While back I made a post about something and it
was like probably like a heartfelt, like sweet thing, and
then someone commented and said I have a brain tumor
on one ice cream Like that was the comment.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Like you have a brain tumor? Or they do well,
I don't know they say I or you well. I
don't remember. It was a while back, but it was
just it was so random.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
It had nothing to do with the posts, and those
two things really didn't go together either, you know, in
a sense.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
So I just remember that going, like what what I remember?
I mean, yeah, I mean obviously we get a lot
of dms, but there's like, for the most part, we
probably we might see most of them. We at least
like kind of scan through them and like swipe through.

(34:25):
But obviously you don't have time to like respond to everything,
or it's just like something so random that like it
doesn't even warrant like needing to respond. You're just like, oh, okay, I.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
Don't even know how to go to the dms anymore.
All this stuff changes all the time.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I know I was supposed to supposed to something from
your account the other day, and your Instagram looks different
than mine, Like your messages are at the bottom now
and not the time. It's weird how Instagram rolls out
new new features to certain accounts and win and so
like sometimes like and y'all will get like an update
and it's like completely different, and then I'll like look

(35:04):
on my phone and like, oh, there's no update, but
hers just looks different. Now. I get a lot of
ones like in different languages. Yeah, I get that for sure.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
I think it's a I think it's it's frustrating a
bit where I if I were to post like a
game or something, and then you know, and then I'll
like link it or tag it or say something, and
it's like people get annoyed.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
People might come back to make that money.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
And I'm like, if you only saw the amount of
people asking where's that from?

Speaker 2 (35:34):
What's that game? That's just like miserable people. They're like, gosh,
they think the worst intentions about everything that you post
because they're they're just either miserable or jealous. Yeah, And
nine times out of ten, usually whenever we share like
a link to something, it's because we know if we
like post ourselves like you know, have an interaction with

(35:55):
the kids playing with some new game, or like we're
going to get fifty ems asking oh what is that?
Send me a link? And so like we'll just go
ahead and put a link in there because we know
we're gonna get asked anyway. But then you have those people.
Those people, yeah, are just like like to know it's
been reaching out to me and want me to set
up a thing. And I'm like, I remember Danny Austin

(36:18):
wanted me to set up I like to know it. Yeah,
you're yeah, said Adam, you totally need to like to
know it. M hmm.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
I wish I could find a good one right now. Wow,
there's a lot of messages on here. I have even
seen that are actually from people friends. Remember, dude, I
had one lady. I wish I could remember her name,
but remember she was like an older like an older lady,
and she bashed me. Every single time I posted something,

(36:50):
she would send me a hateful message.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Remember her, Yeah, I usually like sometimes sometimes well my
may just blocked her from your account. No, I like
every now and then, like if it's like the same person,
and like I'll like click on a DM and it's
like every response, Like I'll swipe up through like every
response that ever since, and every single one of them

(37:12):
is something negative or criticism or like not a single
positive thing.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Someone might be like, ew, your earrings are horrible. This
page is clearly this page is not for you. So
like I'll just like block them, like why are you?
Why are you even following me?

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Like you don't have one nice thing to say about anything,
Like you just kind of block out, Like people just
want to steal your joy, so you just kind of
you gotta you gotta brush those haters off, shake your
hats off. That's probably what Hazel would say. No, she
would say slay batty. That's Hazel's thing. Hazel's into all

(37:51):
like the what the teenagers say? Now, yeah, all the
kids are. Hazel says, slay so much.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Now slave batty. What's the other one? Uh, slay batty something.
She'll say like three words. I'm like, I thought that
even mean.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
You'll You'll be like, she'll text you something and you'll
give her an answer and she's like, okay, Sleigh, yeah,
like and then I'll start getting like her sweetest little redhead.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Okay, Sleigh, What's something I do that secretly drives you nuts?

Speaker 2 (38:25):
That you love me anyway?

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Quick to answer already? All the other ones? You have
to think real hard that I secretly find annoying. Well,
for one thing, it says drives you nuts, but you
love me anyway? How many can I give? It's it's
probably justify just answer. It's probably like the which I

(38:50):
know that this is Danielle's like me time of the
day just like mine is probably is going to the gym,
but like after all the kids are in bed, like
she'll spend probably in hour and a half. I feel
like sometimes two hours because I don't know because by
the time she comes to bed, I'm asleep. And that
like annoys me sometimes because like sometimes I just want
to like hang out or like, oh, well that's the

(39:12):
time for us to catch up, and then like you're
in there. I feel like you're just waiting me out
until I go to sleep. Some nights that is so rude.
That would be like me like me and mad that
you're at the gym. But you can't be mad because
you don't even know I'm gone. Why because you're asleep, Well,

(39:33):
you're asleep when I'm in the bathtub.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
I know.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
But like I don't get to spend any time.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
This is the thing that we're not gonna get an argument,
but we might. This is the thing that gets annoying
is that I tell you a lot of times like
everything's fine until your preference is off.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
No, but like sometimes I want to just like then
say something, spend time with you, then say something, Hey,
let's hang out.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
You'd ever you know me, you never tell me what's
in your head, And I was like, what's in there?
Tell me what you're thinking. I can't assume I know.
But to me, I'm like, he's just gonna go get
right in bed.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
I'm gonna every night. But it's just like sometimes you're
just like but like you can't.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
It's not justifiable because like to me, I'm like, the
kid's going to bed. You're like immediately you go get
in bed, you brush, you cheese, you go get in bed.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
But yeah, but this is what am I gonna do?
Go crawl in the bathtub with you? No, Like, what
are you doing in here? Well, when you're gonna when
you're gonna ask me out on a date on a
week night while our kids are in sleep, Yeah you could. Yeah,
you could have done that, like, hey, let's go hang out,
let's go hang on the back porch. No, you just get.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Annoyed that I go to the bathtub. Well I'm annoyed
you went to bed. I'm glad you still love me. Anyway,
though I choose to take a bath, it's not take
a bath. I can take a bath in three minutes.
You you go to the gym for two hours.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
Why can't I do what I want for two hours?
Go to the gym for two hours? Okay, an hour?
Hurry back to get Why are you not giving me
any of time. Maybe one days, like I go to
the gym after getting the kids to school, I might
take that long. But I think this is a fair discussion.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
This is a fair discussion to have for our listeners
because I think this relates to a lot of relationships.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
You you go.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Do something that you want to do when I'm still
sleeping and the kids are asleep, and yet.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
But my thing keeps everyone else in consideration because like,
I'll make it up points to be home to help
with getting the kids ready for school.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
And so how is mine not justifiable because the kids
go to bed and you go get in bed, but
maybe I want to hang out, but they're they're the
exact same scenario, but not your timing.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
Do you understand? Do you see how it's the same thing?
Kind of.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
Then explain to me how it's not so our listeners
can explain to their husbands too, How is it not
the same because I just.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Don't understand it because I don't take baths either, though, Okay,
take take the take the idea, take the bath out
of it. Like I couldn't just I couldn't just like
sit in the tub for two hours, So take take
how many women out there actually like love baths, just
like we'll sit in there for hours. You got five
or six more in this house that love baths. That's

(42:34):
why we need more bathrooms. I just can't do it.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
But listen, take take whatever the thing is out, so
you go.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
I've tried, I've tried to get asked a question. Take
the thing out.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
It's not about what the thing is that you want
to do for your time and I want to do
for my time. It's not about what that actual thing is.
So then therefore, what's the problem. No matter what you're
going to bed, no matter what you're still, no matter
what you are sleeping, there's no they're not at the
same time, they're not. I think I think this would

(43:10):
I think this statement I'm about to me.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
Is relatable.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
I think you get annoyed because I'm doing something without
you and did not include you, or or you're assuming
I don't want you to, which is that into That
is a statement because it's my that's my grounding time,
just like your gym time is your grounding time. Okay,

(43:39):
that's your time.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
But I would actually enjoy it if you came to
the gym within me.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
But this is a thing like you are a different
personality in a different like love language and like all those.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Things, and I'm not the same.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
So I need to be away, and you want to
be more absorbed.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
So you want me to always you want me to
do this.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
You don't verbally say those things, but you you want
those once because I need to want to yeah, And
I want you to want to leave me alone because
this comes to that introvert extrovert parts of your day, Yeah,

(44:22):
for sure. Like like when we talk about going to
indian these four hundred thousand people, I'm like, oh my god,
I'm like.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
I was actually like that last night, been away at Indianapolis.
Get home, and then oh, I stayed half the day.
I got off an airplane, went straight to the office,
stayed there for half the day to prep because I
had an all day long photo shoot at Good Ranchers Tuesday,
and so I just want long, a long yeah, a

(44:49):
couple of days. Yeah, And so I wanted to get
everything squared away because I knew we wanted to start
this shoot super super early in the morning because we
had to just like wait. It was one of the
more ambitious shoots that we've done, like just had a
lot of stuff to shoot, but got there like, got
everything prepped, woke up the next morning, didn't go to

(45:10):
the gym because I wouldn't have had time, So I
didn't get to go to the gym that day, and
then got to the office before seven am to get prepped.
So we were ready to shoot as soon as everybody
got there. And then I was there till probably seven
point thirty last night, and so whenever I got home,
I was just like done, and I was just tired.

(45:30):
I've pretty much been standing all day and I was
just like ready to just like collapse. And then you
were like organizing everything in the house all day, getting
ready for the carpet cleaners for today, and then you're like,
I need all this stuff brought down from upstairs.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
I said, well, we also had the award thing that night,
and I said, before you go sit down, when you
please take this downstairs because I.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
Knew, I knew there was just one thing. It was
like stacks of things. Man, I'm us I needed your muscle.
By the time like we've gotten everything down, I'm like
I'm done, and I just went literally went straight to bed.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Yeah, but that the conversation issue is I was not
needy yesterday.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
I needed like wanted to hang out. I was just.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Yeah, so why is that okay at that moment, you
know what I'm saying, Like, but that's not every day
for you.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
I feel like it's every day or near about I
feel like you feel like it's every day. Yeah. True.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
I literally take a bath every day, so almost every day.
So like how you feel at times where you don't
get like your gym time or whatever, and it makes
your day different, That's how I feel when it comes
to like whatever I'm doing, even like my bathtime. So
this is what I'm saying. It's not about what the
thing is. It's about giving grace to the other person.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
I feel like this is probably a very relatable conversation
because it's something the other needs.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
So this show is how you love by giving grace
and all those things. But you're not a very big
communicator and you don't verbally talk about what you need
or what you want or what you're feeling or like
it has to be drug out of you.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Yeah, So if you were.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
To say, like, hey, I know so so husbands or
wives out there, who relates to my side or Adam's side,
Like if you're like.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Me saying communicating intentions goes a long way.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Yeah, like saying like, hey, I know you want to
take your bath tonight, but like before that, you want
to go, like let's go, let's go sell on the
back porch and just hang out for a bit.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Okay, Yeah, I'm totally down. You're not taking.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
Away my need for like escape and alone time and
to get out of the distractions. But you're also so
you're offering me, I know, like let's just have a
little bit of time together before you go do that.
You're not taking it away from me and absorbing all
of me more because a lot of times, like there's

(48:03):
a need, I feel like there's a need of like
I'm always needed, I'm always needed, I'm always needed, I'm
always need, which is it's not I'm not. It's not
a complaining statement. It just shows that like at the
end of the day, like what I want to do
is not be around anybody. Like the introverted me is like, oh,
I just want to breathe because I have been doing
blah blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
And you're you're almost the opposite.

Speaker 1 (48:28):
Your hard part is is you're very You're like a
network or social person, but it takes a lot of
energy out of you, and so at the end of
the day you want the introvert of you wants to
come out and be like coddled in a sense. So
we are complete opposites. So the communication through those is

(48:49):
where once again communication, which we know is our heartst thing.
So lesson Learn Sure, that was a great podcast. Started
that with Q and A off to something hopeful and helpful.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
Yeah, because we're probably running in an hour, which I
didn't think we'd go that long ago. Well, actually I
was looking at a thing go on the carpet.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
Guys probably about to be hearing the dogs and start
making a bunch of noises and then you're gonna say
your alarms went off, and I'm gonna say.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
No there.

Speaker 1 (49:19):
All right, So, so what did we learn this podcast
and what did we share that was relevant?

Speaker 2 (49:25):
I don't think the last part really got that heavy.
I just got into like a real topic. But I
don't know, we always end up going into something like
very real, and I would hope that's pretty relatable amongst
husbands and wives.

Speaker 1 (49:40):
It's not about the gym, it's not about the bathtime.
It's about understanding each other's need for a breath in
like that quiet time.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
But also like communicating expectations yes, and then communicating aspectations
and always remembering too, because we forget this I do
you do? We all do you?

Speaker 1 (50:02):
Listening doesn't do this well either and forgets this too,
is that you do not love enough. So show love
and more to the other person. And that's hard because
we're humans and we're selfish and we want what we want.
And like I was saying, the order we get, I
think the more selfish we get, because we want to

(50:22):
be in our own Like Adam, I keep telling him, like,
if it's not on your time, you're annoyed. Well, same
with me at times too. So it's like we got
to stop trying to keep things in our own rhythm
and have to show the grace and put the others first,
and like it's just a hard thing to do, yep,

(50:46):
And that's marriage.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
That's marriage. So thank you guys for tuning in to
episode thirty four More Than Reality Podcast, and we'll see
you in the next one.

Speaker 6 (50:57):
See y'all all right, We love you guys. Bye.
