Speaker 1 (00:02):
You've got the Morning Sprint with Coaching RAJ podcast. Listen
live every weekday from ten am to noon on Altitude
Sports Radio ninety two five and on the Altitude Sports
Radio app man.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
What a way to start a two K Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
I can't tell you the last time, outside of a
thirty for thirty or a Scott Van Peltz or a
Scott Van pelt Sports Center that I had appointment viewing
on ESPN that wasn't play by play and last Night
with Rich Eisen in that late nineties early.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Two thousand right.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Last time Eisen hosted Sports Center was in two thousand
and three when Peter Forsburg was the MVP of the
National Hockey League before the Iraq War. It's it is
another lifetime ago, back when Sports Center was actually good.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
I tuned in and did not miss a second of
that last night.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
It was phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
I cried when he called out his late buddy Stewart
Scott who passed him twenty fifteen, and it felt like
the Sports Center of old. I got to watch Jaydon
Daniels scamper in from fourteen yards. I got to watch
Joe Burrow run around for his life in a preseason game.
Welcome into two K Tuesday Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five.
It's the Morning Sprint Alex Rodemy alongside live from Valor
(01:23):
High School the coach Mike Sanford, coach, I you doing
this morning, I.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Am doing awesome.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
And yes, when Sports Center feels like Sports Center and
ESPN realizes that maybe if it doesn't cater all of
its programming to gen Z and all of you millennials, RAJ,
sometimes you just got to get some good old fashioned
boomer television. And that's what we got last night. And
it was a lot of dad gum fun man.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I could not miss a minute of it. And it
started with obviously the crazy Monday night preseason game going
on between Cincinnati and Washington.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
There.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I know you wanted to get Joe Burrow some touches
because Cleveland or sorry, Cincinnati doesn't want to start off
like they did last year. Right, if they start off
like they did last year, they will miss the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
They can't. You have to find a way to.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Win games early on in a brutal AFC North, even
when you have probably the greatest passer of the football
in the game today.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
That dude is.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Gonna get killed.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Why what is the even the intent of Joe Burrow playing?
It is he played back to back preseason games that
he played big minutes and ugly minutes and minutes where
you watch the only hope for your franchise to have
success this year is Joe Burrow spitting the football to
Jamar Chase.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
And t Higgins. That's it.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
So why are you playing preseason two weeks in a row,
especially when he's getting peppered.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
The Bengals franchise continues to bewilder all of us. What
are we watching? What do the Bengals want? Do they
want to tank?
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Do they want to see their franchise quarterback that is
arguably the purest thrower of the football get hurt in preseason?
Speaker 4 (03:10):
It's certainly shot.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
But I'll say this as a Broncos fan, you love
it because you got those Bengals coming up in.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
The first five weeks.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Man, And if you could get the Bengals team that
is a little bit out of sorts Trey Hendrickson not signed,
Joe Burrow maybe a little bit banged up.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Like he was two years ago.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
You got a really good shot to knock off one
of the most talented offensive teams in football, right, and.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
It started last night, it would then extend to this morning.
Is news and happenings around the league that directly affect
the Broncos in the first month of the season. Right,
So you have Cincinnati to close out September on Monday
night at home. It's a team that you should have
beaten last year. The defense was really just starting to
find its way back as Riley Moss came back from
(03:52):
a long term injury in the secondary for the first
time really all year outside of the Baltimore game, like,
it struggled big time. And that's a win that you
look back and you go, or a loss rather that
you look back and you go that that should have
been a w for the Broncos. The offense sputtered in
overtime not once, but twice, and that's a team you
(04:13):
should beat this year. If that offensive line looks anything
like it did yesterday in front of Joe Burrow, the
Denver pass rush should be spectacular. And then what happens
this morning. While it's good news for the Broncos, right,
because you look at Cincinnati and that terrible defense and
a porous offensive line, you go all right. You can
find a way to get it, Joe Burrow. You can
find a way to win that game in Week four,
(04:35):
the second week of the season at Indianapolis. As of
this morning, automatically gets harder.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
Danny Dimes, my off season prediction, has been named the
starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Football Colts. And yes, oh yes,
Danny Dimes himself is going to be the comeback player
of the year. I just hope that the Broncos just
take care of his against Danny Dimes.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
He's gonna be good.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
Shane Steiken is going to like what he has finally
as a head coach and an offensive play caller for
the Colts that isn't going to just throw the football
to the other team or attempt to take off and
take people on every single time in the open field
with they're throwing shoulder like Anthony Richardson does.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Danny Dimes is going to be an improvement for the Colts.
I'm just telling you.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Right now, so anybody that penciled that game in as
an automatic victory, be careful. I do think the Broncos
are a much better football team, but Danny Dimes, as
bad as he was in New York. I believe some
of that was as a result of the dysfunction of
the New York Giants franchise. I don't believe that you're
gonna have the same type of dysfunction with Shane Steiken
(05:45):
calling the shots for the Indianapolis Colts with an actual
functional quarterback.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Unlike Anthony richards right.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I don't think he is a threat, Daniel Jones. He is, however,
a far better option to win a football game for
Indy than Anthony Richardson was.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
And that's why I look at we two.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
I expected the Broncos without even kind of sweating, to
be two and oh going into that second road game
in a row and your first divisional game at LA
in week three, And now it's I wouldn't say it's
up in the air, but I'm way less easy on
it now, way less easy.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
Big game? Is it not a big game? Rajh.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
It's a huge game for where the Denver Broncos want
to go. I love this from the five four to
eight on the Shop Mas. The texta line one price,
one person, one hour. Danny Dimes, which is his nickname
as a New York Giant, now has become Indiana Ja
that is a great nickname. It is fantastic, and that
you're speaking of old school dad joke Sports center for
(06:44):
boomers and gen xers. That's a really good boomer gen
x nickname for Danny Jones, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Looking ahead at that Broncos schedule, right, so I kind
of guarantee that they were going to be two and
oh because I thought Anthony Richardson was going to find
a way to win the job, or that Indy was
going to or Richardson into the starting role because you
spend that first round draft pick on him. But you
know what, like Shane Steiken, Yeah, you're you're coaching for
your job at this point, right.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
You can't. You can't pick in the top five and
the top ten.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
If you do, you're probably gonna get fired at the
end of this season. The best idea for him is
to put the best quarterback in and that is Daniel Jones.
Through those four weeks before you go to Philly, I
thought three and one was the you must be three
and one. Do you still feel that way now after
(07:35):
seeing Cincinnati throw out Joe Burrow twice and after knowing
now that week two Daniel Jones will be the starter
on the road. If you're not three and one, is
the is the division in jeopardy?
Speaker 5 (07:50):
The start the starting five games after especially after the
first two. The first two we just talked about the Colts.
You absolutely you need to win both of those games.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Titans. You got to win at home.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
You're going to kill the Titans.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
At the end of the day, you're facing cam Ward
and Daniel Jones in your first two weeks of the season.
As much as I am glazing Danny Dimes, why I
am glazing Danny Dimes with the Colts is that the
Colts were a bit of a competitive team a year
ago with not even relatively competent quarterback play. So you
had where Danny Dimes is, he has the chance to
(08:25):
be a top twenty quarterback, top twenty five quarterback in
the NFL. I don't even know that you could say
Anthony Richardson is a top forty quarterback in the NFL.
Would you take it like we said yesterday, would take
Jarrett Stidham or Anthony Richardson as your starting quarterback?
Speaker 2 (08:40):
I would take Stidham over Richardson.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
I don't know if I could find eight backup quarterbacks
that it would take over Richardson.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
I don't know, man, but it would be it would
be close.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
What was the ESPN or Sports Illustrated ranking of backup
quarterbacks did not have Jarrett Stidham as the number twenty
option in pro football?
Speaker 2 (08:58):
He had Stidham.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Yeah, Sports Illustrate had stid him at number twenty, Cousins
at number one. I would say, yes, Garoppolo, you take
over him. Yah Jones, you take over him. Who's now
not a backup, he's a starter. Jake Browning probably.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Yes, he's competent. He doesn't throw the ball the other team.
He doesn't. He doesn't come off the field and act
like he's tired.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Do you have to you have to get to like
you have to get to like Malik Willis, Jacobi Prissette,
Sam Howard.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Cold blooded baller for the Packers.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
I mean, I hate, I hate to say it, but
Malik Willis outplayed my guy Jordan Love last season at times.
He did when Jordan Love was banged up. Man, the
Packers were kind of on fire with Malik Willis. I'm
telling you, ar five Is, he's nowhere near his starting
quarterback in the NFL. Goes back to your original question
where do you need to be going into that stretch, Namely,
is it Baltimore and Philly.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
You got Philly first, then you have a couple of
easier games against the Jets and the Giants.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
And that's the game six and seven? Is that right?
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Game six and seven in London at or it's technically
a road game at New York October twelfth and home
against the Giants in October nineteenth. You have Dallas at home,
and then you travel to Houston in week nine.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
You gotta be a minimum of two and two going
into Philly. I'm okay, Like I'm not happy with two
and two, but the season is not lost going into
Philly at two and two.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
I think if you're two and two and you end
up splitting the division, like you and I have said that,
like we think the AFC West has a really good
chance of splitting all the way across the board somehow,
each team going one and one. If you're two and
two and everybody splits the division, I think you're gonna
have a really, really difficult time winning the AFC West
(10:45):
because you have road games at Philly at Washington. You
have the wild card of what happens when you have
to go overseas and play a bad Jets team.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
But like, that's kind of a crapshoot.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
When you're playing that early game on Sunday and then
your other non divisional games home against green Bay, Week
fifteen at Houston, Week nine home against Dallas, and Week eight,
like Dallas is the only game that you look at
and you go, yeah, that should be a pretty like
it should be a win for the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
The other ones are kind of toss ups.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
What is the Baltimore game? Am I? Am?
Speaker 5 (11:24):
I right in saying that you're are you at Baltimore
yet again?
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Or you you host?
Speaker 2 (11:27):
You don't play Baltimore this year?
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Okay, For some reason in my brain, I just always
think about the Broncos playing Baltimore. We do not play
the Ravens obliterated, So the Ravens game is kind of
excuse me. The Eagles game is the one that you
it looks terrifying on paper, and frankly, so does the
Commander's game on paper.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Those two games.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
The game at Washington in late November could be a nightmare,
especially if it's if it's weather induced and it turns
into a rushing attack, right because then you can just
tuck and run Jaden Daniels the entire time. Then they
have the advantage.
Speaker 5 (12:02):
Speaking of behind enemy lines and the commanders, Deebo Samuel
did not look quite as overweight and incompetent as a
runner of the football like. He looked explosive fast, he
looked back and so the narrative about his waistline or
his you know, his his his hips being child bearing,
if you will, that's that's got to be thrown out
(12:24):
the window. That dude looks like a good he He
looks to be back to for him. He looks like
he loves the offensive system that will fit him. Uh
and he's gonna get a lot of touches. Man, that's
a big improvement. We'll see what happens Scary Terry. I
heard there was some some potential lip reading that happened
with Terry McLaurin that he needs to get to sixty
six million. We'll see what happens with him. But a
(12:44):
lot of interesting things behind enemy lines three oh.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Three, five, four nine two five is where you can
reach just Alex Ryan Emy live in studio, coach Mike
Sandford out at Valor.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
By the way, you can listen.
Speaker 3 (12:55):

Some news out of a family sports center, some hockey
news here. In mid August, Logan O'Connor is skating for
the first time with I believe it's Melon Hayduk And
who's the the AVS new skills director. He is a
(13:39):
former Popovic. I think Mark Popovic is the new skills
director out there. So Logan O'Connor, according to Brennan Vote
of Hockey Mountain High, is out there on the ice
for the first time that we have seen him since
getting his hip resurfaced. He's still expected to be out
for the first couple of months of the season, but
that is a welcome site for Avalanche fans as we
(14:01):
gear up for training camp starting in September. And then
the beginning of the season in early October as the
Avs open up the season in LA against the Kings.
Good news, There are also other news around the National
Hockey League. USA Hockey has released their men's Olympic Orientation
Camp roster and Avalanche centerman Brock Nelson has been invited
(14:24):
to that camp, so there's a chance that Nelson could
represent the Red, White and Blue coming up at the
Winter Olympics.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
He probably will Wonie Rojan. He was a mainstay on
the Four Nations. He was didnety skating the second line
for the US.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
He probably makes the team, especially if, like he looks
really good in the middle of Landeskog and Nachushkin, or
if he, you know, gets some time on that first
power play unit with Nate and he starts putting up
some points and stuff. He is. He's the type of
player that you want in an Olympic setting. Like he's
defensively sound, he can play both ends of the puck.
(15:00):
He brings a little bit of physicality or physicality and
a lot of length to that game, especially when you're
playing on on bigger ice in the Olympic sheet is
significantly larger than the two hundred and eighty five, but
that you play National Hockey League games on really, Oh
it is, dude, it's a completely different game. It's huge the.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
Amount of the what's the reasoning and logic for international
competitive hockey to have a bigger rink?
Speaker 3 (15:27):
I don't exactly know the story behind, like why it is?
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Is that the only level of hockey where you skate
on that size rink?
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Yes? This is essentially so four Nations was just NHL regulation.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
NHL regulation international hockey. A lot of European hockey plays
on international sheets. It's kind of it's kind of going
back and forth. But when you see international hockey, w'll
typically see a larger sheet.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
You have a lot more.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Space on the outside of the hash marks and a
lot more space behind the nets.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
So you're gonna see a lot of that in the
Olympics this year.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
Does that lend itself to players like Nathan McKinnon and
save for the Avs, Marty Natchez and his what he
play for?
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Check check? It's formerly formerly known as the Czech Republic.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Yes, correct, checky is what it's known by.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
What would that with.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
That type of ice, that sheet of ice lend itself
to to having those types of fast for a netic
skaters to have more success in the international game.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Faster skaters, faster skaters should be way better with more
ice and more space. So like McKinnon should be amazing
at it, mccarr should be great at it. You're gonna
want to see defenders that like, you know, a slower,
bigger defender is not really someone you want on an
international show.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
So what you're telling me is that our favorite friend
of the morning sprint, Peter de Boring not probably going
to be up for the Team Canada job.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
With a big sheet out.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
You can't really, you can't really trap an international sheet.
It's tough, dude, It's really tough, especially with how fast
those guys are now, it's tough to trap an international sheet.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
But Nelson should make that team.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Man.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
You know what I was I was thinking about last
night when I was watching Jayden Daniels, you know, scamper
in from fourteen yards and he didn't really do anything
that's but he's pretty good. He's pretty good. You know
what I was thinking about. I went, this is how
other fan bases have to feel when they know they've
got like a pretty good guy on their team, whether
(17:43):
it's another hockey fan base or another basketball fan base,
like you know, Philly when they had Joel Embiid right
and he was still playing games. This is probably how
they felt when they went, we really like our guy,
but holy crap, look at him. The same thing with
like the Vancouver Canucks or the New York Rangers, when
(18:04):
you look at Adam Fox and you go, we really
like our guy, and then you play against the Abs
and you go, but holy crap, cal mccarr is really good.
I kind of had that feeling last night when I
watched Jayden Daniels. I went, I really like bon Knicks.
I think he is good enough to win the AFC West.
I think with a really good defense and more and
more tools around him like we saw out of Evan
(18:26):
Ingram and r. J. Harvey and Pat Bryant, I go,
I like Boon Nicks and I think he can get
it done.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
But holy smokes, was eye jealous of Washington last night.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
There's a reason that you had a player of that
magnitude that was able to do what he did last
year as a rookie. And that was really clear to me.
When you watch Jayden Daniels.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Are are we talking?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
This is a player that now is top seven quarterback
in the National Football even top five in some people's
QB writing, and jade Ganiells is just a mere one
year into it. But you know what, you don't have
to build your team here in Denver based off the
quarterbacks abilities and strength solely. You can build your team
around the quarterback and build it with this unbelievable core
(19:14):
of defense and be good enough to not only compete with,
say Washington Commanders, but potentially beat a team like the
Washington Commanders.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
How fun of a Super Bowl would that be? By
the way, in about two or three.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Years, Washington and Denver be phenomenal.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
I would love that would be? That would be like,
give it to me this shot? Why not?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Von Miller has to play against the Broncos in his
final game as a.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
As an edge rushing Hall of Famer.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
And Jan Bailey Champ Bailey in a Redskins or excuse me,
a Commander's jersey coming off the edge at number twenty
four von Miller?
Speaker 4 (19:48):
How fun would that be?
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Bo Nicks is just elusive enough to get around. I
don't know how old Vaughn is. Von thirty eight at
this point, get her out a thirty eight year old
von Miller and gripsack like Cam Newton.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
I know he's older than you.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
RaSE he's younger than me, but he's older than you,
So yeah, that would be a lot of fun. Man.
I think I think that Jaden Daniels is one of
those players. There is the reason that he was drafted
thirty six.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Okay, so he is older than you by just a
couple of.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Years, correct, Yes, I am thirty.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Two oh four years quite a bit. Just a sprint
chicken here, coach you are man, I'll tell you what. Man,
your your hairlines holding strong too? I think I think
we're we have. We have three good hairlines here on
the morning sprint. If I'm not mistaken, my hairline is
all kirky. He don't don't give me too much credit
their coach.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
The hair man hair going anywhere.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
I can tell you that I traded what what my
pops didn't give me in height and size being a
six' three. FIN i also didn't get the lack of
hair that comes with. That so you know, what at this,
Point i'll take.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
It, oh, man have you seen that's also.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Cheating at this point. Too you know what actually hold?
ON i have a bone to pick with. That now
all you have to do is fly To turkey for
two weeks and then you can get hair for the
rest of your. Life so all all the people like
me who are vertically, challenged, right who are always just
the tiny guy's, Not i've been okay with it for
my entire.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
LIFE i had one thing.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
To lean back on WHEN i, was you, know trying
to market myself out there right as as a as
a single. Man and my thing THAT i could fall
back on Was i'm always gonna have.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
HAIR i have great hair. Jeans and now.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
Nobody knows where do you go to get? HAIR i don't.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
KNOW i had one of my, Buddies my my, Buddy
rudy is a barstool. Guy he flew over To turkey
and he got his hair done and now he's got.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
Hair what do you mean by a barstool? Guy is
he on barstool? Sports, yeah and he's got.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Hair now he's got?
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Hair now is he talking about it publicly or he talks.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
About it all the.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Time they did a whole blog About they're, like, hey
we're gonna fly To turkey and all of us. Balding
thirty two year olds are gonna go get hair plugs
or something. Like now they have, Hair so it's cheating
to cheat.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
YOU i used to Know turkey is The turkish delight
From lyning The witch and The, wardrobe and NOW i
just know strictly it's hair Plus turkish hair. Plucks but
you know, What, raj you complain about that you can
go out and get, hair and that's one thing that
you do. Bring you, know you can you can go get.
Height you can go fly To. Serbia, man go pick
up some. Height get about six inches of. Height if
(22:21):
that's what you choose to.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Do, yeah you snap your femurs and then you have
to relearn how to. Walk, no thank, You i'm fine
being five to.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Seven.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Brother give me The serbian. Supersize that's WHAT i.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Want someone's gonna take a hammer and a sickle to
the middle of my. Kneecap, No i'm all, Right i'm.
Good Jayden daniels plus seven point. Fifty right, now according
TO espn Bet, sportsbook he has the fifth best odds to.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Win regular SEASON.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Mvp the quarterbacks in front of Him Patrick mahomes at six,
Fifty Josh allen at six, Fifty Joe burrow at six,
hundred And Lamar jackson at plus four. Fifty there is
a massive drop off From Jaden daniels to the other
quarterbacks in the running FOR. Mvp and again this is
obviously preseason betting. Odds Jalen Hurts Super bowl winner plus
(23:09):
sixteen hundred is then followed up By Justin. Herbert so
there's a massive delta in Between Jayden daniels at plus
seven fifty to WIN mvp and the next, Guy Jalen
hurts at plus sixteen.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Hundred what's the money On Patrick mahomes FOR mvp.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Six and a half to?
Speaker 4 (23:25):
One, Okay so the leader in the clubhouse again.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Was Lamar jackson at plus four.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
Fifty, yeah he's winning.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
It Bone nicks slots in at plus five. Thousand he's
tied with the names as follows to a tag Of Vi,
Looa Trevor, Lawrence, Kyler Murray drake May he trails running
Back Saquon.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Barkley, Hmm bo's not gonna WIN. Mvp you AND i
have gone.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
This we've gone through the numbers that would REQUIRE bo
to win AN.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Mvp you have to win thirteen.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Games you have to throw for like forty two hundred,
yards thirty five plus, touchdowns single digit interceptions if not
close to five, interceptions and like Maybe i'll give you two.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Fumbles The Josh allen stat line from a year, Ago
Josh allen stat, line that's the.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Best path forward for Bo.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
Nicks thirteen fourteen wins for The broncos would certainly contribute
to the. Cause and when you look At josh allen
stat line compared To Lamar jackson's throwing stat line last,
year winning, CLOSE i, mean there's two completely different stat.
Lines But Josh allen had the he had the rushing, touchdowns,
man and that's where The bonnicks rushing touchdowns inside the red?
(24:48):
Zone is that an area That Sean payton doubles down
more on the on the athleticism Of. Bonnicks maybe we had.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
That we didn't see the line in camp, though and
how much, Actually AND i do want to ask you
about that for someone who has who has gone through
nearly three, decades right of offensive installations from the quarterback,
perspective either when you were playing or when you WERE
qb wide, receivers running, backs, coach head, coach assistant, coach,
coordinator all of those roles that you have, held full back, coach,
(25:18):
SURE i was gonna leave that one out.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
There wingback, coach and a wing tea keep. Going anything
else is?
Speaker 2 (25:24):
That is that helping you right? Now getting ready For friday's?
Speaker 5 (25:26):
GAME i was the long snapper and punter and kicker
coach AT. Unlv just haven't COACHED o line and, frankly
haven't coached anything on defense outside of scout team.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Defense that's. It it's All i've done scout.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Team how much WOULD i expect to see quarterback.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Driven run in a training?
Speaker 4 (25:44):
Camp not?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Much and how much can you get out of it
if you try install?
Speaker 3 (25:49):
It because you're not taking people down to the, ground
and no one's not only you're not taking people down
to the ground even when you're playing up, right when
you're just, thumping quarterbacks aren't.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Thumped you don't play up with.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
The, quarterbacks you, don't and it just it's a bad.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
Look like if you had a joint practice with another
team and you've made an agreement that the quarterback is off,
limits but we're playing, up why would you Call why
would you call like a quarterback power or a quarterback
Counter cause you're not going to even find out what
you got in terms of your, runner your quarterback in
terms of how we can, run because nobodys can even touch,
him and it's just, like what are we. Doing the
(26:21):
other Thing i'd say about quarterback called designed driven run
game in training camp is it is one of those
dirty little secrets of many offensive play.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Callers they don't want to give any information away about
how they would use their quarterback in the run.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
Game and you got fans there and people will talk about.
It we would talk about, it will we?
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Not THE dnvr crew would talk about design quarterback, runs
and then that starts circulating through The National Football league
and then a fan starts videoing some type of quarterback
driven run in the red, zone and now you tip your.
Hat we've Learned Sean payton does not want to give up.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
Anything so where do you do those things in the
walkthrough sessions during training camp in the evenings in the
indoor facility when nobody is, Watching and that's WHAT i
think he's. DOING i do Think Sean payton's doing that
right now in real time and has even alluded to
it slightly in some of his pressures About Brooke. Bownicks
the red zone touchdown scoring.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Runner alan rushed for twelve touchdowns last year five hundred
and thirty one. Yards he actually had a better rushing
season in twenty twenty, three when he had fifteen touchdowns
and five hundred and twenty four yards on the. Ground
in terms of actual, yardage he had back to back
seven hundred and sixty yard seasons in twenty one and twenty.
TWO i don't know if you're gonna sniff twelve for
(27:41):
bo this, year so you still have to up that
number of passing. Touchdowns and, AGAIN i know he's a
dark horse obviously at plus five thousand to win that,
Award but if you get him into the thirty seven touchdown,
range which is just eight more than he had last,
year another five hundred yards through the, air which does
(28:02):
feel like a whole, ton then that conversation becomes very.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Real on the.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Ground last, year Bo nick's four hundred and thirty yards
and four. Touchdowns he's not adding eight to, that ESPECIALLY
i he, could but you also added so much to
the running back room THAT i feel, like shouldn't you
rely upon those?
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Dudes you? Should you? Should you?
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Should We we didn't see, much if at, all Was
Sean payton trusting any semblance of run game inside the
ten yard line last?
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Year, NO i mean we've pulled the.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Stats, actually bo, next the passer in the red zone
was way better than you thought he. Was meaning the general,
you we all thought that that's an area of growth for.
Bow he's got to be better in the red. Zone
his red zone passing, Numbers, raj you pulled him, out
they were pretty dang.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
Good they Were they were.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Efficient they were, efficient they were.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Efficient there were not.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Negative, plays but you still wanted to see more positive
chunk plays and scoring. Plays they were. Fine, NOW i
do think that's A Sean payton. Thing, like let's even
look back to What Jared stidham was doing at the
end of the first half In week two of the, preseason,
right the drive that goes seventy yards and it stalls
on the two The lutz field goal. Drive when they
(29:21):
are gold to, go they're passing the ball twice goal
to go rather than relying Upon beday or relying upon,
McLaughlin who's rushing attempts on that on that drive got
you to where you. Were he threw the ball twice With,
stidham including a play action pass from the two yard
(29:41):
line on third. Down he doesn't want to commit to
that even in a preseason, game unless, you, like really
want to see What Jared siddam can do on a
play action bootleg from third and goal on the.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Two that doesn't tell me.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Anything but what it does tell me is THAT i
don't know if you change your, Stripe Sean, PAYTON i don't.
Know three h three five oh four nine two five
is where you can reach us today TWO K. Tuesday
get your favorite nineties and two thousand songs request IN
kJ will play them throughout the.
Speaker 2 (30:07):

Matt campbell versus K, STATE i Mean Iowa State Kansas.
State that's a great football game no matter what time
of year it. Is but On august what twenty?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Third who's the kid with the flowing blonde. Locks the
quarterback at K, state the dual threat Stud AVERY. J.
Johnson that's the, guy like If Kansas state wins The big,
twelve that's a dude that you can look at and
you go watch out for A heisman.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Bid it's. Funny At Kansas.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
State two of the quarterbacks THAT i recruited very hard
are now At Kansas. State Avery johnson Had minnesota in
his top three before committing To Kansas state. Eight and
Then Jacob, kanouth the backup quarterback From Harrison High school
In South Dakota Gatorade state player of The, year signed
with me At. MINNESOTA i got, fired and then he
(32:12):
transferred to K, state so he's the backup.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
There so it's a it's an interesting.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
ONE i just excited That Altitude Sports radio has been
so committed to bringing football of all kind to our
airwaves and it's finally that time where.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
Football really, matters really. Counts and it, starts frankly This
friday with the high school season In colorado And chassen week.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
THERE i might show up with the disguise with the
fake mustache and fake glasses on.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Through the Old Bobby.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Valentine it sounds like a, plan doesn't.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
It that is That groucho? Marks is that what the
big nose and eye?
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Grasses, yes Very grado.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
Market that was one of my favorite Things i've ever
seen live is When Bobby vallen got yeaded from a
game At Chase stadium and then showed back up after
putting on a dollar store disguise and tried to hang
out in the in the dugout for the rest of the.
Game we don't have enough, characters enough clowns in professional,
(33:15):
Sports Like Bobby valentine.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Was they don't exist. Anymore we're all too. Serious.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
Man you know you knew is who does have some
of those fun personality traits is our guy friend of the,
Program Clint.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
Hurdle Clint hurdle would don a dollar store disguise and
get back into the into the, bullpen into the.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Dugout he would do. THAT i need more of, that
right LIKE.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I just need to see more Fun at LEAST i
saw some fun things from The rockies last night and
come back and beat The.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Dodgers what is going?
Speaker 4 (33:48):
On what is happening with The Rocky.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
They're red hot six and one over their last. Seven
the bullpen continues to Be fino dominal over their last seven.
Games is From Guerrilla. Sports The rockies bullpen has pitched
twenty eight. Innings they've given up nine earned. Runs nineteen,
hits six, walks thirty seven k's and five. Saves The
(34:14):
rockies have won six of, seven and they've basically guaranteed
they will not Overtake chicago for the worst record in
the history Of Major League.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Baseball did you just say The rockies have won six
of their last seven. GAMES i think we were.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
On a six to seven roll this, Show, COACH i
don't really know what that. Means you're around the. KIDS
i still.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Don't know what it, MAN i don't, either But i'm
around them all the.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Time the text message has been rolling, In like you
guys have said that three. TIME i don't know what it.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
MEANS i don't.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Know, hey it's. Everywhere you never you never intend to
talk about six to. Seven it just keeps coming.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
UP i mean there's power forwards in basketball that are
roughly six.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Seven, right that's just kind of how it. Goes kj's
dying because he knows the whole. Deal. Man, Okay so
The rockies feel a little bit hot right.
Speaker 5 (34:59):
Now, Right, SO i was thinking The rockies over their
last twenty probably have a winning, record, Right, nope still
seven to thirteen over last twenty feel like it feels
like since The All Star.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Break they've been on a torrid.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
PACE i guess the last seven games have kind of
disguised what you really. Feel but seven and thirteen over
the last twenty, Games, yeah find.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
A way to Beat Yoshi yamamoto last. Night you've won four,
straight four out of five within the. Division you still
have three. More you, Know gomber has to go. Up
does he Have otani tonight or Is otani game? TOMORROW
i think The otani game is The wednesday. Game and
Then Chase dolander gets to pitch against one, of if
not the greatest pitcher of his generation In Clayton, kershaw
(35:45):
and that comes up On thursday afternoon at one.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Ten that's a really.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Good experience for a, young hopefully future ace of your
staff to have is to go up against that. Guy
AND i, KNOW i Know Clayton kershaw is a shell
of who he, was but that is a first Ballot
hall Of famer for him to be able to go
up Against kershaw in a big league. Setting if we're
looking for silver, linings and we always are with The
rockies this, year that's something that if he performs well
(36:13):
in front of the home crowd there and you can
continue to win. Games that's something That i'll take and
put in my back pocket going into the.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
Offseason so the probables for The Dodger rocky series Goes
Austin gomber Versus Emmett shehan, tonight which is a winnable
game even Though Houstin gomber has yet to record a
statistical victory in a very healthy.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Season he's zero to.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
Six and then we have A Tanner gordon three and,
five good record if you're A rocky starter versus Show, Heyo, Tani,
chase dell Enderr, kershaw as you, mentioned will be the
final of the four game. Set can The rockies win
a series against the vaunted Expensive Los Angeles?
Speaker 4 (36:54):
Dodgers is that even?
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Possible i'm gonna say, no BUT i think they go
to and. TWO i think they split the four game.
Set let's not act like The rockies are world beaters right.
Now they're just they're they're a little hot and trying
to stave off historical.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
CRAPPINESS i, mean that's that's gonna. Happen what is? It
only they need six? More is that?
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Right six wins in their next thirty seven baseball. Games
it's gonna.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Happen it's there's no way that you go six and
or five and thirty.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Two no, way.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Especially when like when we went over this last, week
we were talking about these very difficult games coming, up
and that was Against, arizona who was still trying to
find a way to get back up above five. Hundred The, dodgers, who,
yes they've been going through a dry spell as of,
late but they are The dodgers and they've got some incredible.
PLAYERS i thought they were gonna get beaten three of,
(37:47):
four if not swept in the four game. Series you
have to go up Against Paul skeins in one of
your three games Against. Pittsburgh, like these were games THAT
i thought they were gonna lose the last the last four.
GAMES i thought they were losing three of. Four they've
won all four of. Those they're they're gonna get this thing.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Done, Man.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Are? You are you? Okay rockies? Fan three oh, three, five,
four nine to? Two? Five are you rooting for? Victories
fervently rooting for? Victory now you?
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Are now? You because they've taken the fun out of.
It they've taken the fun out of. It if it,
was if it was they need to win six of
their last, ten six of their last. Twelve then we're
sitting on pins and needles through the end of the.
Season they have taken the fun out of losing because
they've been too good as of lee and that's a good, thing.
Right you want to see them crawl back. Up they've
(38:37):
done the right things this. Year they, Drafted they drafted.
Properly they traded away bullpen arms when they needed. To
did they get top, Prospects, no but they added a
top five prospect in their. System the second basement from
from The New York. Yankees you did things that you
haven't done over the last three. Years so WHILE i
thought you had to go and hit rock bottom this
year to look yourself in the mirror and, say all,
(38:59):
right it's time to turn this thing. Around maybe they
did a Midseason i'm okay with moving. GOALPOSTS i do
it all the.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
Time, Okay So rockies, fan that's fervently rooting for victories
so as to change the trajectory of the feeling of
this club going into next. Season with, that does it
Come Warren schaefer coaching himself into the full time.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Role is that a good or a bad thing for The?
Rockies would love to hear.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Three oh, three five oh four oh nine two five

Sports radio mobile app that is powered by The Will
Height Law firm injury, lawyers go To will heightwins dot.
Com that is willheightwinds Dot. Com the seven seventy Five,
yes chasing win forty two has made me want to
watch and pay attention to The rockies here and. There all,
(39:51):
right so there's there's little nuggets to tune in and
to watch a terrible team. Again anytime you beat The,
Dodgers i'm fine you BEAT. LA i am very very
much interested the two three. Two i'm absolutely rooting For rockies.
VICTORIES i am a. FAN i don't want to see
them set the record for. FUTILITY i will be in
the third row behind the plate. Tonight have so much
(40:12):
fun down At. Corsfield we'll roll into our number. Two
as we were talking About Jaden daniels earlier on in
the show and how my my jealousy started to boil
up inside my chest last, night even THOUGH i love
Bo nicks AND i think he is the right quarterback
for this, team AND i do believe there's A Super
bowl championship in his future here In.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
DENVER i couldn't.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Help but feel a little bit jealous of how Good
Jaden daniels. Looks my question to, you why did he
run away With rookie of The year last. Year we're
gonna look at their stats over their last big time
six seven games once again from this season or this
past season that's coming up.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
Next he should not have run away with. It bow
should have been.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
