Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Mosher Lombardy and came on demand. Listen live
every weekday morning from seven to ten on Altitude Sports
Radio note you two five and on the Altitude Sports
Radio app.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, so let's go through that. Look.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I asked Paul, my assistant, find out how many players
I've traded or been involved in a trade with. Devon
was the twenty sixth player. The interesting thing with him
was two and then a third team all called. In

(00:46):
other words, we weren't actively shopping at all, but teams
in need of receivers obviously do a good enough job.
They look at the depth of certain teams, and so
within like a three a period, George and I had
gotten calls from two serious teams and a third and

(01:08):
all coincidentally on the same player.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
All right out here at Meadow Hills and were moos
my town. We're in my town today.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Hey, this place is already buzzing hardcore man. Yeah, I mean,
you've got people running around like crazy. Kyle Keef's acting
like a mother hen out here weird.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Hey, don't don't even don't even talk about Keith has
been panicked from the second I've seen him. Agreed, that's
how he rolls Man. He is panicked city. He has
done nothing but shake his head all look look at
him haul and stuff around. This is crazy, what a day.
But we're out here at Metal Hills for our second
annual charity golf tournament in conjunction with.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
The Colorado Avalanche Alumni. Hey, and so everybody's gonna be
here today. It's gonna be flipping.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Awesome in Forstburgh.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Yeah, Pa, Joe hed G I mean, everybody's gonna be
out here today. It's gonna be Bran or Brian uh
and some newer guys too, like like Darren Helm, Yeah,
Andrew Cogliano. I mean we're talking about recent alumni. We
miss Helmer and Cogs, do you. Yeah, well they you know,
I'll tell you what they don't went without him. I
mean know, every single dude on that team. Dude, I

(02:15):
told you this a billion times. When you win a cup,
your big gun's got to come through, no doubt about it.
But everybody, during the course of a postseason run, everybody
does something to propel your team to win that period,
that game, whatever. So and obviously Darren Helm scored one
of the biggest goals was an Avalanche history. I mean
she's the goal of that postseason, you know what. And

(02:36):
let me let you in on a little a little.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
E genis okay, yeah, because EJ is the one that
brought the puck up the ice.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Yes he did, and he gave it to your boy
loc who threw it across and Helmer one times at
home and the rest is history.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
With what like was it like two point three left
or something?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Yeah, something like that, and I freaked out. Of course
I'm doing the game with Connor. I'm like, you know,
one of those kind of deals. But it was a
huge goal. Once they won that game six in round two,
once they got beyond that, they knew, dude, they knew.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
They knew they were going to win that moment. Yeah, yeah, that.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
There are moments in playoff runs where you just kind
of know, and they knew at that moment.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Okay, we got this.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
We're gonna do this because the Blues were a pain
in the tail, they really were.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
So we're gonna have a great day out here. Honk.
I freaked out. I couldn't. I couldn't believe it. But
what uh, I mean, what a play by it? I
think even Connor can't get mad at you for that.
It's just you're in the moment, man, you just want
to scream, Yeah, no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
So so but e J he's on the ice and
Kale doesn't know how much time is like he grabs
and he goes and I mean that again, it's that
heads up kind of play that propels, you know, propels
you to a Stanley Cup championship. Either way, everybody's gonna
be out here today. It's gonna be a a really great.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
We're gonna have a great time. Uh now to what
Chun Payton just said in that open Is that not
what I just said yesterday? Is it not? Yeah? So
we found out a couple more details as the day
went on yesterday. The first was there's multiple teams that
called about Vley. They saw the Bronco situation, they knew
it was really crowded. They said, hey, I'm three different

(04:19):
teams was the report. All were like, hey, I could
use that. And probably what drove the price up to
a fourth is competition.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I want Broncos fans to understand what Sean Payton said
is not only accurate, but they're doing the same thing
as we speak. They are pouring over other team's rosters,
and they're trying to get a glimpse.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
As to.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Are they gonna keep, you know, five whiteouts themselves, are
they gonna keep how many linebackers are the gonna keep,
you know that kind of thing. They are pouring over
other teams rosters because there are guys that they like
that are currently on other rosters that may become available.
And you gotta jump from you gotta.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Jewel, not just that, moj I don't think the Broncos
are done now. Another reason for the Vle trade Sean
Payton yesterday talking about it's a numbers game. They liked
Falle's good enough to make this team, but go ahead, Yeah,
certainly all of that.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
When you guys factor in where Troy's at, where Pat's at,
where Surefield's at, where you know, and and you know,
we can keep six receivers, we're probably only going to
get five to the game. And look, he may have
been going to the game, but there would have been
discussion as to, you know, out of the six, you know,

(05:39):
how how are we looking at our game day? And
and so.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
I said this a few weeks ago, I.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Think we have a few players here that may end
up playing for other teams, and here's one.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
So here's the translation. He is certainly good enough to
make this team. He's a good player that we want
to keep. But when you're talking about on gamed moj
you're gonna be an inactive you don't serve a purpose anymore. Now,
two schools a thought. Number one is what the Broncos did,
which is the correct one, I think, And if you

(06:15):
can get value like that, then you can parlay that
into something bigger down the road. Perfect. The other school
of thought is this, if he's a good player then
and you're going for a super Bowl, then why are
we giving away good players for a team that's trying
to win the Super Bowl. And again, the Broncos are
in a very unique position in this sense. They have

(06:39):
multiple spots in which guys are going to be good
players who might be game day inactives. And when you
say they're pouring through other teams' rosters, I think they
might have a couple of trades left for them to
offload some guys for more draft picks. I think one
prime example, and I believe Mike Cliss tweeted this out yesterday,

(07:01):
the Marie Mathis is one of those guys he is
the sixth guy in a cornerback room that is very
very deep. Yes, Mike Cliss. Yesterday the sources confirmed Broncos
are trying to trade to Mary Mathis. If no deal,
Mathis will be released, just not enough room. But matthis
could easily be a guy that ends up on a
roster and plays a lot somewhere else. And when you

(07:23):
have one of those means at the very least in
a nickel situation. Yes, yeah, And when you have one
of those dudes, it's just like you're trying to do
right by him too, because he's a good enough player
to actually get out there and play and make some
money if he plays well. So it's kind of like
two fronted. I also think there might be a defensive
lineman they can get traded in a Jasa Rique or

(07:45):
Jordan Jackson type that no, I'm okay, thank you, you know,
Wazer Rik or Jordan Jackson type where it's like most
they would play for a whole bunch of other teams. Yeah,
and again I don't you would love to have depth,
But if for fifteen weeks you're gonna be inactives, then
what's the point.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
That's a that's a very good point, and maybe even
the running back spot they're you know, hey, hey, give
us a call because and it's a good problem to have,
I think again. The only time, and the Broncos in
my opinion, are doing everything correctly. The only time it
becomes a problem is that you run into what the
Niners have run into with their wide receiver room, and

(08:26):
you're like, oh god, yeah, all it takes is a
couple of guys right to go down. You're you know,
even for a short period of time, you're like, oh god,
but kens we had that guy back. I mean, but
that's but that and that's all second guessing crap because
the Broncos are doing it correctly.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Can I say something about that though, Sure, because that's
kind of scenario people laying out, Well, a couple of
these wide receivers go down, then you could really use vlea.
And it's like, yeah, but I'm not gonna plan for disaster, Yeah,
exactly right, Like I'm going to plan like this season
is going to go as most other seasons do. If
you get screwed, you know, like Detroit last year. Defensively,

(09:02):
oh if that happens, then that happens. Like you can't
you're playing with that.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, Dan Campbell's not keeping guys around in August because oh,
by the way, in November, if I have twelve guys
on IR on the defensive side of football, we could
use him.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
It's like, you don't plan for that. That is correct.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
So again, I love everything that they're doing right now.
It makes me feel good. Final preseason game coming up tomorrow.
Want to see some guys, you know, get in a
little action and feel good about themselves and then and
then we're off and running.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Dude, then we're off and running.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
But it's it's intriguing to me, and I know how
it works, but I love to hear Peyton explain it,
you know what his His team's doing the same thing
as other teams, and they're doing their due diligence.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
There are other teams are looking at the Broncos going
all right, where they stacked? Yeah, all right, what do
we need? You know, that kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
And so I think you're absolutely correct that because there
was a little bit of a battle a couple three
teams that wanted to add some wide out depth.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
That's where you throw that fourth in there as well.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
And then there's also a fine line Hey, well, look,
if the Broncos are going to release math Is, why
do I got to give them anything? If I can,
you know, try to claim him right away. And I mean,
it's all these games that you play because you want
to find out your roster.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
This is see but this is what's great about having
guys that are waiver wire claims. Howbout this much? Waiver
wire claims kind of look like this at this point
in the season. It's a guy who's right there on
the bubble of your team, but might be the forty
ninth to fiftieth guy on their team. Right, that's what

(10:30):
waiver claims are for. You're taking a flyer still on somebody.
The reason why I think Veyley, who's already been proven,
he's different, and I think Demari Mathis could be different,
and if they're looking to shop a defensive lineman could
be different. You are at the behest of the waiver
claim order when somebody is released, is correct. So if

(10:51):
you like somebody and another team ahead of you like somebody,
you're you don't see it your sol You make the
trade to be like, screw that, I want him, He's mine. Correct,
That's why you make the movie so it's a bit
of a g so it has to be a it
has to be almost like, I am so for sure
that this guy is going to be a piece of
my roster. I don't want to risk anybody else grabbing him.

(11:12):
That is correct.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
And even if you're throwing a seventh at a team, right,
whatever would be. And again, if you're gonna let a
guy go, you'll take whatever you can get.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Sure. Hey, couple shouting you uh new football, so you
know we'll take that too. We just we just had
the thing yesterday. We're moving baby Jamal Kaile's room because
the new baby's gonna take old baby's room, right, And
there's this this dresser because that was a guest room
that we just we don't know what to do with.
So my wife did the Facebook marketplace thing and just

(11:40):
said take it, just take it. We put it out
in the front lawn and our payment was get it
out of our house. That is correct, take it away
from here. That is correct.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
That's the seventh round pick that you trade for some
get some guy at this point in the calendar. That's
that reminds me. Years ago, I had a neighbor who
put this bark a lounger on the curb, like for
somebody just to come take for whatever reason. And that
friggin chair set on the curve for over a week
and I'm like, dude, just haul it back in the

(12:09):
garage or something. And it's broken, and the barker lounger
is broken. I'm like, ain't nobody taking that? Man, Ain't
nobody taking your broken barker lounger. Pull it back in
the garage.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Can I ask a question? I can kind of understand
the this is free. Take this thing that you put
in your front lawne a lounger, though it takes one
rain and then nobody's wanting that again. Some people's kids, man,
I don't know what to tell you. Some people's kids.
I don't know what to tell you. Hey, you know
what is happening today outside of our golf tournament that

(12:42):
by the way, this is gonna be an epic tournament. Man,
It's gonna be a lot of fun. It is. You
know what else is happening. What's Chrismer doing over there?
Is that great? I don't know. I don't think that's Chrismer,
a kid. I think that's just the guy who looks
just like Chrismer because I thought the same thing. Yeah,
you're right, that's weird. Chrismer has a show that's on
the same time.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Yeah, you're right about that. And that guy's got he
shaved face. You're right about but it looks just like
I know, that's a freaky dude.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Man. You know what? What else is happening today? Though,
mosh give it up. Football's back. Yeah, football is back
starting tonight seven o'clock right here out to Tooth Sports
Radio ninety two five. You think coach is going over?
I mean, is coach going over his play sheet? Like
right this second?

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Okay, so it's seven, seven thirteen in the morning. There's
no doubt in my mind he's freaking Let me share
your little insight. Let me share you some insight on
Mike Sanford. Uh So, what I was gonna say was
Valor is playing as Pine Creek. And you can hear
that on Altitude Sports Radio tonight way down in the Springs,
our first regular.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Season game of the year in high school football, and
Altitude Sports Radio is brought to you by sports Clips,
the pros in Men's Hair. It's also simulcasting now to
do television. If you'd like to watch the game. I
thought to Sanford yesterday in between shows, and he's he's
got that coach with game day coming up, face right,

(14:03):
and I just got to get my play sheets set.
I still, you know, I'm still working on it. And
then I asked him something. I go, I don't want
to be offensive about this, but I just I'm curious.
I said, does your level of care right now for
your first game at Valor match when you were like
interim coach of CEEU with you know, fifty thousand people

(14:23):
or whatever, eighty thousand people watch it? And he goes,
you know what? He said, Oh, yeah, like he is
as intense about this game coming up tonight as he
was for any game that he's ever coached. Because it's
a football game, I know. And he's a football dude, yep,
and he's footballing out, dude.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
It could be you, Honestly, it could be ten year olds,
it could be high school kids, it could be see
you versus Nebraska.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
He's a football dude. This this will not shock you.
Mike Sandford is listening at the moment. Woke up at
four forty five and have been working on my call
sheets since I knew it i'd it right this second.
He's poring over that. Ma I love a detail or man,
what's up, James?

Speaker 4 (15:05):
You got to you gotta grind. You gotta grind if
you want to win. Man, Yes, Sean Payton's grinding. John
Gruden would John Gruden grind?

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Shanahan would grind. Dude, you gotta grind. Grinding over preseason
tape for a team he doesn't coach right now? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (15:20):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Anyway, can you hear that game tonight seven o'clock? Speaking
of final preseason game tomorrow for the Broncos, is it
something you have to see in the one drive that
the starters are gonna get the six to ten plays? Whatever?
Do they have to play well or you'll panic? Or
is it it'd be nice if they played well. We'll

(15:42):
get to that next Back out here at Meadow Hills
in my town.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Can I tell you a little bit about Meadow Hills
and welcome back everybody to Mosie, Lombardi and Kane. This
is like the old school public course, you know what
I mean? Trees been around forever, tree the kind of
course that I grew up playing. Okay, yep, anytime you
talk to anybody about Meadow Hills. It's always I love

(16:09):
that course, Yes, everybody, it's always. You know what, I
I've never heard a discouraging word about Meadow Hills in
my life. It's just all I mean again, you have
the trees and so on, and some people don't like
to deal with that. They like to have wide open
because they spray it. Yeah, like I because some guys
spray it to the ride a little bit. Does that
sound familiar the last time I played here? Yeah, eight

(16:30):
out of nine pairlies to my driver. You're kidding, it's
the best I God bless you. Now most of the
time you would be absolutely correct. By the way you
get in the trees here.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Take your medicine punch out or you're gonna you're gonna
be even more tru that's a one hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
So, uh, it's a it's a great course, man. They
always keep it in great shape. It's part of that
Aurora rotation.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
And uh, by the way, this is like you got
a couple more a couple more weeks to play this
thing without absolutely losing your mind the second that leaves
start to fall. Oh yeah, you're your not finding your ball.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
That's exactly right, Especially like me, I hit a yellow ball,
I'm like, uh get yeah, yeah, uh. Anyway, but even
even like big time guys, big time players and you know,
guy fancy club guys, everybody's got a soft spot.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
In their hard for metal hills. So it's great love
out here. Happy to be out here again our second
annual charity tournament in conjunction with the Avalanche. Help me
again the Avalanche all night? Yeah? Is this hard to remember?
For some reason? It is Colorado Avalanche Alumni Association. So
gonna be out here until ten game tomorrow for the

(17:35):
Broncos final preseason game. They've already said the starters will
get anywhere from like what six to ten snaps or
something along those lines. Does it matter to you if
they play well like most if they have another performance
like they did in Week one against San Francisco, are
you gonna be like, uh, what's going on? Or are
you going to be who cares? It's preseason? Where do

(17:57):
you fall?

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Do I care or do you think they care? I
think you I care, and I think they care. Let
me explain a little bit. The Broncos are improved, and
I think that they're gonna be good, but they're not
to the point where you see what the Buffalo Bills
are doing with Josh, with Josh Allen, he's not playing
a snap in the preseason. Yeah, Okay, they are not there. Okay,

(18:23):
they are not there. They've got to get their act.
There's no doubt in my mind. Look, I think they'll
be fine going into Week one no matter what. Okay,
I think they're gonna win that game and they're gonna
they're gonna do a lot of catchup in that week
and so on and so forth, because Tennessee just isn't
that good. But I think for them, in their own minds,
they want to get some goodness going here in the

(18:46):
early going of this game, in their six to eight
plays or well, however many plays they get.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Just if I'm sitting, if I'm Bo Nixon, sitting my
butt on the bench, if I'm Sean Payton, I'm pulling
my guys off and sitting their butt on the bench
and putting you know that.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
Joe Burr rou R two D two eight piece. I
want them to feel good about themselves. I want them
to leave that field going you know what, Okay, boys,
nice job, good plays, a couple of runs, a couple
passes picked up, a first step whatever it is, right, Yes,
it's just you need to have some positivity once your
butt comes off the field. That's my opinion. That's what

(19:20):
I would want as a player, and I'm sure that's
what they want as well, because because while while they've,
while they've built up a lot of trust and good grace,
hey man, they still gotta they still gotta.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Get it done.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
I put it in the it would be nice category
if they go out and it's still like kind of
a dud of a performance. And let's be honest, most
we aren't talking about the defense. No, we're talking about
the offense. Just the offense. Correct. The defense is fine. Correct,
The offense is what we're talking about. If they go
out there and they put it to put together another dud,

(19:54):
would it be disappointed to be like, yeah, I'd be disappointed.
I just don't. I don't think that I would enter
Week one of the regular season being like, well, they
had a really bad preseason, so I'm expecting bad things.
I don't think i'd be there. I would, It would
just it would be it would be nice to see
it if they just had a good I don't know,

(20:17):
six to ten play seventy five yard touchdown drive, then
throw on the ball cap and sit down for the
rest of the day. Let me throw the question. Let
me answer your question with a question. We'd love to
do that here.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
If they let's say they have a couple three and
outs and then sit You think they're gonna be happy
with that? Will Peyton be happy? Will Nicks be happy?
Will Ingram be happy? Will Dobbin's be happy? Nobody will
be happy with that? Fans will be happy?

Speaker 2 (20:39):
No, you want, but I don't think they'll be unconfident
heading into week one? Agreed?

Speaker 4 (20:43):
But you think they'll be happy? No, Okay, there you go.
You think they'll say, yeah, everything's gonna be just fine. Well,
they may say that, but they're gonna be p o.
They're gonna want to They're gonna want to put together
a couple drives.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
That's it. I agree. I agree. By the way, Nellie,
did you ever check me on the numbers thing with
Sherfield and RJ. Harvey?

Speaker 6 (21:05):
You know, I don't know exactly where you found all
this number stuff, but I did bring up the the
latest ESPN roster and so I can confirm from that.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yeah, give that a shot for me. Let me see
if if what I saw was correct, because it would
help me a ton which numbers in my facts. I
can give it from I thought I saw this yesterday,
that because de von Vele is no longer here, that
Trent Sherfield, who was number five, is now taking seventeen,
and that because he left five behind, RJ. Harvey has

(21:35):
switched to five. Gotcha, That's what I'm wondering.

Speaker 6 (21:37):
I'll do some some deeper digging for you.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I'll let you know thank you dig a little bit deeper,
can I Can I say this? RJ.

Speaker 4 (21:44):
Harvey looks like a five to me, He doesn't look
like a thirty seven. And it's when I see him
in the thirty seven, I'm like, that doesn't fit.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
You, dude. It also drives you. You're a five, Yeah,
you're a five. It also drives me. I actually don't
mind the number thirty seven. I mind it because Dobbins
is twenty seven and they have similar builds, and I
don't know who's on the field win. It bothers me
because the jerseys they get all crumpled up. You know,
they take a tackle and their jersey gets like this,
and you can't release see the two or the three

(22:12):
or some guys they actually.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Pull their jersey up to their shoulder pads right and
like Shanaiah Twayne expose the mid drift right, and.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
You're like, it would help me at Ton if he's
number five. Now, okay, that's all I'm saying. Perfect, but yeah,
fact check me on that, Nelly. I could have seen
that incorrectly. Maybe it's somebody don't think so okay, well whatever, Well,
if they haven't done it, they should do it. They
should all right, let me make a suggestion they should
do it. Switch Uh Now, most I want to get

(22:45):
we gotta say it. I need a full segment for
Jerry Jones and Mike Parsons because Jerry Jones, I can
I when we go to it, let me explain. And
I heard you on the way in, and I agree
with you. It's unbelievable for those who have just joined
the program with Ruh said yesterday, it's so old man,
it's unbelievable, and it's so fitting. It's unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
And yes, I smiled, but I know, I know the
entire situation, and I will lay it out for you
when we get there.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
So we get to that in just a little bit.
In the meantime, I want to discuss something.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
That I have.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
I have been lamenting for a long time. College football.
There's been there's a few things that drive me nuts. Okay,
the SEC likes to lord over the rest of college football,
and you know, to a certain extent, they deserve it.
They got the championships, they got the whatever, best conference,

(23:52):
but they treat themselves in that error. The thing that's
driven me the most nuts about them is that they
have not had this same level playing field as others.
In this sense, they say that our conference is better
than anybody else's and we have the best competition. Okay, fine,
Having an eight game conference schedule is stupid because every

(24:14):
other power conference has nine. It's already hard enough to
try and evaluate teams one hundred and thirty different teams
by the same criteria when everything's different everywhere else. The
least you could do is make the same amount of
conference games. Well, it turns out they had a conversation
about it. The SEC is doing that starting next year.
They're moving to a nine game conference schedule, which is

(24:36):
beautiful because you know what that does, mos, No more
Week ten game against Mercer, no more Week ten game
against Savannah State. You have to play actual competition when
your team's beat up, when it's late in the year,
when you're in the middle of the grind, like you
don't get a bye week anymore.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
And you know why they're doing it because the playoff
is way more open. Yes, because they get more teams in.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
That.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Dude is freaking me out. I can't look just like that,
reach me outa it's really weird. That's bizarre.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Anyway.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
The point is that they because you have a twelve
team playoff and you've heard all the speculation about going
to maybe even a twenty eight down the road, did
you hear by all that crap? You can so you
can do it because you have more wiggle room. And
they know that, and now they're fine with it. They
weren't fine with it before. They weren't they weren't cool
with it before that, but now now they're cool with Well.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
To take it a step further, Moje, they aren't just
going to a nine game conference schedule. They have also
required everybody in their conference must schedule one non conference
game against either an ACC Big twelve or Big ten team.
Must They said, you have to do it, which I

(25:49):
think is even better. Now here's the great thing. They
can afford that because they can afford a loss while
still making the playoffs. Correct. Do you know who can't
Big twelve team?

Speaker 4 (26:01):
They could dude as much ARIZONTA state's not getting in
with two losses last year and all that crap.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
They're not. No, not a chance. CSU can't. They cannot.
That's the big one. If you're not part of the
power crew. What's up? Right there are doing buddy? Good
to see you. What's up, buddy, We're doing the show. Okay,
it's cool, don't worry about it. If if you have
yes CSU scheduling Texas for their Week one matchup and

(26:29):
they get stopped by fifty points, guess what, no national
championship for you this year. That's it. It's not but
they know that.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
I mean they already know that. And what they also
well maybe they run the table, but I don't know
they know that. But there's also a payday. I mean
that payday for some of these schools. Sure is pretty
damn good. Worre's key for it.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
I gotta ask him. There was a wyoming went down
Keith for Aloney's panicked. Yeah he is.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Wyoming went down and played Auburn and just got their
heads kicked in right, But at the same time they
got a huge payday. I mean, when you got over
a million bucks coming back to your program. Nowadays you
pour that into nil and maybe, you know, you take
those losses, you take those lumps in order to you know,

(27:14):
help your program get bigger and better.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
You know. The other thing about it is it's just
way better for us. Think about what's going on next
week on this station. You're going to hear next Saturday.
Texas versus Ohio State. What a matchup? Awesome at the
beginning of the college football season. By the way, here's
why I think it's really funny as the SEC touts

(27:37):
there were better than you and we know it, sort
of like Ben Stiller dodgeball thing. What was that Global
Jim at globojym. We're better than you and we know it.
That's the SEC. What did they always say or have
always said, We'll always say whatever about teams and other conferences?
Oh yeah, yeah, Ohio State's really good. But if they

(27:59):
went through the grind of what the SEC was, they'd
probably be a three loss team. Can you tell me
who's favorite to win the SEC this year, it's probably
is it Texas the Texas Longhorns. Yeah, I mean, but
they're brand new to the SEC. But here's my point.
Had Texas not jumped to the SEC and they're still
in the Big twelve, do you think the SEC would

(28:21):
admit that they're the best team in the country before
the season starts. No chance. Oh, not a chance in
the world. If you mean, if they were still in
the Big twenty, they're still in the Big well, no,
not a chance in the world. They would say, Oh,
it's because you guys play in that set. Now you play.
That's exactly right, you're playing you know, Kansas, that kind
of thing.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
Well, you know what I would I would argue to
the SEC. And by the way, it's pretty tough. I mean,
I mean, your top end talent is remarkable, but Mississippi
State has sucked for a long time.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Excuse my language.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
We all know about Vandy, right, we all know, I mean,
And no offense to Brandon Evans. Out here are our
favorite hillbilly from the station, his his pigs, his Arkansas Razorbacks.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Ain't carving it up for a long time. I mean
it's been a minute. Yeah, you've got some teams in.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
There that are that are I'm gonna say pushovers, but
you you get the idea right, Yes.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Is shocky honking the horn on accident? Did accidentally honk
a horn? I have no idea, but Keith for he's
just panic, dude, He's just moving airs and whatnot. He's freaking.
His blood pressure has to be like sky high losing it.
I mean, just look at his face. It's incredible. Oh.
I wanted to I wanted to bring something to you.

(29:38):
You're a man with a torn achilles. Not making funny,
it's just facts. You're you're no used to be torn.
You're an elderly man who's torn his achilles. So let
me just go ahead and bring this benefication. He's so insulting. Man.
I've been seeing these adult tackle football leagues. What highlight's coming?

(30:00):
I'm an old man without a prostate. I'm watching fifty
year olds get blown up on the sideline by like
a thirty five year old, and I'm just like, what
are we doing here? These are, I guess, getting increasingly
more popular. I'm gonna show you kind of an example
of what I'm talking about. This is a sixty year
old left tackle in one of these leagues. This guy

(30:22):
right here, sixty years old. He's playing left tackle in
a tackle football league. He just tours acl on this
play because he got rolled up on by a running back.
And I want I was talking to Baca about this.
I'm trying to get trying to find the purpose as
a sixty year old. Do you really want to be
crutching around your house because you played tackle football over

(30:45):
the weekend.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
No, but no, listen, you don't want to be crutching
around any place, all right, But the competitive spirit inside
of people, it still glows, right, it's still glowing in there.
It's still there, and they want to uh, they want
to scratch that tch man.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Go out on the golf course and play for some money.
If you want some competition in your life, put a
couple of bucks on darts.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Go out to the ball in the alley. But he's big,
and he's he looks like he's in great shape. Not
anymore because he's got his lightload. No, no, mos, he
used to be used to be shape. Hey, Okay, let's
throw that out there. I'm curious about this. And maybe
some guys never even maybe some guys didn't play football
when they were younger, and they want to play football

(31:31):
now right, They like, they love the game and they
want to You know, I always thought I could be
a wide out or whatever.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
I had a fifty six year old teammate when I
played semi pro. He was one of the best ed
rushers in the game. But gosh darn, did that man
get hurt all the time?

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Yeah, all right, let's let's let's put it out there.
Three oh three, five oh four o nine to two five. Now,
these adult football leagues, how what's the minimum age? I
think you gotta be, like, because I don't want some
twenty three year old kid who just got out of
Missouri and might be cut I cut by the Browns.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Thirty five or forty somewhere in there. Let's say, let's say,
let's let's go thirty eight year old and above. Okay,
three oh three five four O nine two five. Would
you play in an adult tackle football league? No, no chance.
I bet some. I bet I bet there are a

(32:22):
lot of dudes who probably would imagine if I just
threw Columbus out there, I said, go, he'd kill people.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Like if you just gotta be there's gotta be a
rule you can't have played major college football or in
the NFL, But why not?

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Just I mean, if you went to Adam State, you're
probably eliminated. Man, I'm not. I said this to Bacia.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
I go.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
The reason why I don't do adult baseball leagues and
stuff like that is I don't want to rip my
ACL in half trying to lag out a double for
the aurorat dirt bags. Okay, like that's not It's just
it's I don't see any reward for the risk I'm
putting out there. Pregnant wife baby Jamal Keles screaming and crying. Yeah,
and I have to crutch my way over no chance,

(33:10):
no having gone through again. I'm not gonna belabor this,
but a blown Achilles sucks, man. It just we see it.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
And it's so vic Bill bring up. He's like, what
are all these achilles doing? I'm watching yesterday. We're up
at the Aspen Glenn doing golf at altitude right, did
the show. They've got pickleball courts up there and they've
got like three courts going full, I mean four people
to a court and they're going.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Sure. Orthopedic surgeons love pickleball. Oh yeah, absolutely love pickle
they dude, they get that house in Maui because of pickleball,
you know what I mean, because people are blowing stuff
up all the time.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Don't blow your kid. Here's some words of wisdom, Hey kid,
don't blow your achilles?

Speaker 2 (33:53):
All right? An just real quick before break this from Elliott.
I'm a six six two and forty five pound former
tight end at Akron, thirty eight years old.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
I would love to play that. I love you, Ellie. Yeah,
he was a zip man. And that's major college football
though acron zipsir. That's you know what I mean, that's
it's it's huge, I know I mean. And so he
still got that itch at thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
All right, he's like, you know what, I'd love to
smack an old guy around a little bit. Do you
want to hear Jerry Jones sound like a really old man. Well,
you're in luck because I have a lot of audio
that this is. This is great, Hey man. I am
not a I'm not a Neil young guy, all right,

(34:40):
because I don't like Lenny Go like that anything like this.
So I'm not a big Neil young guy. But I
love this song. I love that. I love that that
particular tune and it cracks me up because I know
where it's going. I have a weakness for many things.
I am very easily addicted to things. I am addicted.
I drink more than I should. I probably take away

(35:02):
too many nicodine pouches. Probably. I have a weakness for
old Southern men saying bizarre things. Hey, just a weakness.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
I'm going to preface this as you get ready to
go on your your tail here. Yeah, why do you
think I like golfing with your old man? Well, my
dad doesn't have a Southern draw no, but he's got
a foul mouth. When an old guy says something like
a little fowlski, it hits. It hits harder than like
some punk kid. Right, it's it's pretty, it's pretty funny.

(35:34):
And your dad can weave it to you.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
You've really only seen my dad on the golf course,
which is like the peak version of that, which is
the amount of names he calls himself, nobody else, just himself.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
It's stellar. It's actually a beautiful, beautiful thing. So here's
Jerry Jones.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Jerry Jones, Oh, I left, Paka, Can you get that
yellow cup up there? Thanks buddy Parson, And I'm I'm
almost calling Micah Parsons Michael Parson now just because I've
made fun of him so much for that. But here's
the deal, Jerry Jones. This is sort of a he said,
she said thing. The rumor is that Jerry offered Micah

(36:18):
Parsons two hundred million dollars in guarantees for this contract,
north of two hundred million, which, to be fair, that
sounds like a reasonable amount for a guy of his
caliber that's getting the next contract.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
That's a lot of guarantee a lot of money. If
it's real, that's a lot of guaranteed money.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
So who knows. But two of the most unhinged people
were having a conversation with each other, and that was
Jerry Jones and Michael Irvin, and they were talking about
Micah Parsons. And the first thing is this Jerry was
talking about, Hey, I talked to Micah. We had like,
we had the term figured out, we had the money

(36:59):
figured out. And then I talked to his agent. Listen
to this.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
I mean we wanted to send the details to the agent.
The agent sold us to stick it up our ass.
I listen over your clear Mike and I talk, and
then we were going to send it over to the agent,
and we had our agreements on term a mouth, guarantees, everything.

(37:23):
We were going to send it over to the agent
and the agent said, don't bother because we've got all
that to negotiate. Well, I already negotiated. I already moved
off my mind over several areas. And so the issue,
very frankly, is we've had the negotiation of my mind
and the agent's trying to get his nose in it

(37:47):
right now and try to come in there and improve
off the mark that we had already.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Said, old man say, I want to hear it again, delly,
stick it up is one of the greatest things that
you're gonna hear again. It's a weakness of mine. A
cussing old man will always get me.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
And Brent, do you actually remember when Jerry Jones was
briefly a member of Limp Biscuit. Did you remember that?

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Oh? I don't remember. Oh my god, I forgot yes it. Yeah,
I don't get this. I don't.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
I don't want to get a foul on this show. Okay,
but uh, but it's funny. I know how this went down.
Would you like me to explain how it how it
went down? Lee's because this is nothing new for Jerry Jones. Okay,
this is not a this is not a new thing.
He's done this on multiple occasions. Here's how it goes down.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
He and Steven bring a player or the player comes
into the office just to let's shoot the breeze a
little bit. Yeah, how you've been. How's the family? Right?
I love you, you love us? How's everything going? Yep? Great? Great?
By the way, shout out to Sally. She's a super
starked thank you, Sally, Sally, go visit her at the
damn girl. Then then yeah, please do. Then there's a
pivot to, well, let's not talk what what do you

(39:17):
what do you want your next contract? We want you?
You want to Yeah. So then they start to pivot
and they start talking contract. Yeah, the player.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Now at this point, the player has been in there
for let's say thirty minutes an hour, right, just shooting
the breeze about life and about loving the cowboys and
everything else under the sun. Then there's a pivot because
this is the way Jerry likes to operate us personally
with the dude.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Yes, So then you start talking and I'm sure Mike
is like that sounds great. Yeah, that sounds good too.
I mean, oh yeah, you know, do you know at
the end it's like center over my age of that
sounds sounds great. What Jerry's mind and Jerry's reasoning is
he's already got it worked out with the player. We
don't we don't need do we need you? We don't
need you at all. You don't exist in our world, right,

(40:00):
got it figured out. We don't need you. You, you know,
the the agent can just stay out of it. Hey,
it's me and the player. That's our guy, and and
I'm his guy, and everything is great. Well, whether it's
intentional or it's an absolute strategy by Jones, this has
happened before. Okay, this is not a brand new thing.
He's done this four years. In fact, he admitted that

(40:22):
he did it with Dak Prescott, right, and we get
to that clip in a little bit, okay, and he
but they couldn't work They couldn't work it out, which
is why you had to hold out and so on
and so forth. By the way, Jerry Jones in his
mind is never not in charge of whatever is happening.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
Got him well, and why would he, I mean, why
wouldn't he think that way when he owns the most
valuable sports franchise in the world.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
So so he goes on and says a few more things.
Let's go to the second one. The second clip here
is him talking about Mike's agent, and it is classic
southern man spinning a yard for you of an analogy.

Speaker 5 (41:03):
Go ahead, it's the mama daddy. Did you go into
mama and she won't do it, and she's the boss,
so boss, she won't do it. So you run into daddy.
Daddy says, do it, and then you go back in say, mamma,
Daddy said it was all right? Say, oh, mamma, daddy
did We've all been there and done that. Well, we've
got this. They resolved in my mind for the Dallas Combers,

(41:28):
and we've got it done. And if the agent wants
to finish up the detail, which is should and do
all the paperwork, and he can do that, and we're
ready to go. But as far as the amount of money,
the years, the guarantees, all of that, we negotiate that.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
So is allen Bach's favorite clip. By the way, I
think you like that better than stick it Stick it
up your your fail your tail pipe.

Speaker 5 (41:52):
Yeah, stick it up our ass.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
So listen, listen, here's what I love about that. I
think it was an old Jamie Kennedy bit where he
was talking about doctor Phil always had those those old
Southern analogy things. And he goes, yeah, two hands in
a henhouse don't equal a bucket full of milk. And
it's just like, you know, Jerry Jones has five hundred

(42:15):
of those that he can he can whip out at
any moment. But this is kind of what negotiations are.
And he's almost talking as if this is unique. Right,
he's been the GM there for thirty years, forty fifty years,
however long it's been. You have to kind of negotiate
through the agent because the agent's going to get a cut,

(42:36):
so he wants the best deal too. You know. It's
we just talked about Moses Scotti. Scheffler's canty made three
hundred and sixty grand in like the last month right
off of just the FedEx playoff tournaments. Right, it matters
for guys like that, absolutely, and he and that's but
by the way, that's his job.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
His job is to get in there and be an
advocate for his player. But you're starting to get into
it too.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (43:02):
I think Jerry's tactics are underhanded. Okay, I understand why
he does it. He's got a cap you know, even
if Michaeh. Parsons is the best player in his position
on the planet. I mean, he's still talking to the
owner of the team.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (43:15):
So I'm not saying there's an intimidation factor. But what
I'm saying is he's your boss. You kind of want
to please him, you know, and you want your money,
don't get me wrong. But so when he's got you
as a captive audience and he and Steven are spending
their yarns and talking numbers and all this kind of thing, Yeah,
I think it's underhanded, but I mean that's the way
he likes to operate, and he's done it on multiple, multiple,

(43:38):
multiple occasions.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
But ultimately, let me see this.

Speaker 4 (43:42):
Let me go back to our our guy who needs
to fulfill his obligation in the Finnish Army. Reportedly, ultimately
the player is in charge. Sure, now, the agent can
say whatever he wants to say, so on and so forth,
but ultimately, ultimately, good to see you, buddy. Ultimately, the

(44:03):
player is the one in charge of his own future. Yeah,
not the agent. Hey, the agent works for you. And
if Micah Parson says, look, I worked it out with
Jerry and I was pleased with what he was spewing.

Speaker 2 (44:16):
Draw up the paperwork and let's go see what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (44:19):
Yes, So I don't know. I mean, ultimately the players
in charge. I think both sides are probably a little
bit in fault here. And the agent's like, look, no,
I'm an advocate for my guy.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
This is my job. Let me do my job. There
is more audio to play of this a little bit
later in the shows. We're out here at Miracle or Sorry,
Miracle meadow Hills for sorry, you know what it is.
And in my hometown in Omaha, Miracle Hills was a
place I went all the time. So Meatow Hills. I've
done that over and over again. Meadow Hills. It's a

(44:52):
beautiful golf course taking great care of us. Today. We're
gonna be out here until ten o'clock for our second
annual charity tournament along with the Valanche Alumni. Yep, you're
pointing at me, No, as just said.

Speaker 4 (45:03):
Yeah's the Altitude Sports Radio ninety two to five Colorado
Elevex Alumni Golf Tournament. Yes, and it's gonna be huge.
I mean, all the boys are showing up here. It's great.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
We will talk to JML here soon because he just
sat down and got a burritos, so maybe in about
fifteen minutes or so, so he'll be fine. We'll get
him over We'll get him over here soon. We'll talk
to him a little bit about the Avs offseason with it.
I mean, it's right around the corner motion not just football.
We got the high school game tonight, Valor taking on
Pine Creek, we got the Week zero game tomorrow. A
lot to get to stick around
