Speaker 2 (01:15):
The nice warm weather. It helps out of hunt mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
We have that that drum show that's coming up we

Loci Road in Las Vegas, Nevada. Is going to be

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I will be there along with other other percussionists from
different walks of life. I'm very excited and I'm just
very grateful and thankful to be a part of the
Drummers United International Drums Drum Clinic.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Awesome, Awesome, my brother. So let's get back to let's
get on to this this sessional. Tonight, we're gonna have
a spotlight on a person that's been in my life,
and I mean he's been in your life for quite
some time, doctor David Allen break Blakely. We're gonna shine
(02:33):
a spotlight on him a little bit. He's been all
over the world basically playing music, and right now he's
at gm w A probably getting that music ready for
tonight in Las Vegas. But I have the opportunity to
(02:57):
play music with him. Bars of uh, you know, gospel
music as a kid, you know, And he's straight to
the point and when he he teaches that music, he's
no joke. Right. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Anytime when you call David blake Leave for anything, or
even you get him to just come to an establishment
or event, he comes to work, not to play around.
That's what I respect Dave on so many levels. Even
(03:36):
when I first moved to Las Vegas years ago, Pastor
Keith Newton out of Kansas City recommend me to go
and find David Blakeley.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
So okay, for will what was that I said? For
real or real? Not for fake? For real? How was
that experience?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
The experience, Well, just like any other musician, I was
nervous because David Blakeley, that's not no lightweight name. That's
a that's a heavy household name that everybody knows, that
(04:28):
everybody respects. But he did give me some pointers, which
that helped me even into my adult life of being
a musician. And those pointers literally help help me tremendously.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yes, sir, Yes, sir, I had that experience to play
with him in the convocations like the gene commications in
commoications that uh he had uh that we had out
here in Vegas. He was there and he's basically now
(05:10):
since Mother Hall had deceased, his mother in law has deceased.
He's now the choir president of the Stint Choir. And
that's big feat that uh big choose the stuff in
you know. It's a great, great, uh great time to
just be in his presence. His presence is well known
(05:34):
and I love him dearly. That's that I call him
my big brother, you know, you know because I was
I was able to be in his under his wings
and accept him as a brother. You know, you know
that's coming up.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
And most likely you know, and music is like David,
you really don't get to see that often.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, you know, we have.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
To learn how to appreciate those school paved the way
for us to walk on that path that they have paved.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
You're right.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
And the last time I saw David was at the
twenty nineteen Churchill God Christ International Holy Come Vacation in
Saint Louis, OK. And I've expressed to him, how you know,
(06:46):
his words, the way he had given me words of criticism,
as they say, the words of criticism had literally helped
me to become a better musician. And I just thank
him for that.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, every time I see my big brother, he's always
bringing a smile on my face. The last time I
seen him was this this Sunday. It was a great
experience with him. Uh he got that music rocking all
the time. You hear me, yes all the time. It
ain't no job. He loves what he's doing.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Not only not only what I really respect about Dave,
Mister David Blakely is not only he plays by ear,
but he also reads music. That's a that's a major
for me. That that's made. That's major brownie points. Like
(07:49):
I recommend any musician to learn how to read music
because that's going to open up more doors and it
allows you to become more reachable, more approachable when it
comes to different musical selections.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yes, yes, sir, I like to introduce to the world
that he has uh a concert choir that's called the
White Night Out. Basically yes that that remember is no joke,
(08:36):
no joke. So everybody that that's listening, listen, look for
David Blakeley with the White Knight Choir. Does he still
do that? He still does it? He still does it,
He still does I'm about to.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Fly out one day when he does have a concert.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I'm gonna have to fly out and just check it. Out. Yes, yes, So.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
That's uh uh.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Uh situation that I love all the time. When you're there,
I'm like always there. He has musicians like from everywhere
and they come just for that session, you know, and
it's just a great it's a great uh sight to
see and a great sight to to hear. You know.
(09:37):
He played with some of the most musicians and artists
around the world that you know, you know, people want
to play for and can't get to him, you know,
he he he touched there. There are black keys and
(09:57):
black and white keys, you know, just for them, you know,
right Byron King byron Kge was one of them pleasures
of the lords just here, you know, remember that one.
I remember that one.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Uh That's that's the reason why I was nervous when
I first met David because he was on Byron Cage
record and I saw him on video Gospel on BT
playing for Byron Cage when he was join that recording
in Atlanta. Yes, yeah, yeah, amazing. I was nervous.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
That was a while. You should you shouldn't be nervous,
you should be happy, you know, just to be among
living legends like that little row. I was like, I
love just to you know, just to be there and
just say hello, bro, how you doing, how's your day?
You know, Sunday it was like you know, jmw A,
(10:55):
you know, open up, you know with the Silver State chapter.
That's our chapter, that's out here in Vegas. And I
was just happy just to see him, you know, back
to handling business, you know, like it does, you know, right.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
And the most important thing about David Blakely.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Is he's nice. He's a nice person.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yeah, Like, no matter what situation he's in, his personality
never changed, never whatsoever, never, And he's just he's just
a flat out a nice person. Well, I was still
I was still nervous though when I met him. Though,
(11:45):
I'm just not I'm not even gonna lie you.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
He shouldn't be nervous. He shouldn't be nervous. But uh,
let's go on. Let's go on to our telltdow what
you think about uh music, Let's go into our music,
my brother. Okay, yes, I guess you got number ten?
(12:09):
What you got? What you got for number ten?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
So for number ten, I have, uh Brent Jones and
the TP mob. Okay, what can I what? There's so
many things I could say about Brent Jones and TP mob.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
His music.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Just across it just like he reaches different generations, from
the old to the middle age, to the to the youth,
even to the even to the little ones, even to
the babies. Like his music like inspires all of us
(12:51):
two to live our best life. Nothing matters. We're gonna
have a good time and don't wait till midnight. So
he just like his his his music as a whole
just for me just inspires me to become a better
(13:12):
person in general. So I say, you know, I love
Brent Jones, Yes, sir, yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
I got a chance to even shake his hand, take
a big, a good picture with Brent Jones when he
was out here. Oh really, yes, that was an experience
of a lifetime. And matter of fact, it was one
of David concerts. Oh what was it, the white Lennon,
the all white No, he did a concert that uh uh,
(13:45):
they didn't did a concert for at Victory Baptist Church
and and and Brent, Brent Jones was there. So I
was able to just say hello, how you doing, Brent? Uh?
Is it possible to just shay till here? You know?
It's it possible if I could just take a picture
with you. I send that picture to you as soon
(14:06):
as I'm finding I got so many pictures in this phone.
It's ridiculous. Bro, Man, you're gonna you're gonna need you
a whole new phone.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Man, you're taking pictures with with celebrities, gospel celebrities and artists.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
You're doing. You're right. I got the number four, number nine,
I got the Nord stage. You know, josh Joshua was
done and the Mayfair's basically and they It's the reason
why I got them for the number nine is because
he's so jazzy. You know, you know, you just don't
(14:49):
you know, you don't know what to come, what's coming next.
When Joshua was playing, He's like ridiculous on that uh Nord.
Uh next week, I'm gonna have uh some some other
other artists to talk about with this Nord. But I
know I love that that Nord. That's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Wow, we got the number eight, bro, So what I
have to number eight? His name is uh Cedric Shannon
Reeves and the Brothers out of Saint Louis, Missouri. Uh,
I know, right?
Speaker 2 (15:32):
What can I say about?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
What can I say about Cedric Shannon Reeves? Not only
he's uh, he's a pastor, but he's also a psalmist
and a and an awesome writer. But his songs it's just,
you know, I cannot put it, like if you need
if you're in a deep thought and you just you
(15:57):
just can't it, just can't you just get out of it,
whatever the case may be. I usually listen to, you know,
songs from his group call his Name.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
I Don't Want You No More.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
So the song I Don't Want You No More? Pretty
much it's pretty much telling Satan himself no more, fear,
no more, no more, no more living in poverty, you know,
I don't want you no more, right, you know, So that.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Song really allows me.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
And others to let the devil know like, hey, you
got me already, but hey, time's up. I don't want
you to want exactly kick rocks you feel me? So
that makes a sense. That's a whole lot of sense,
a whole lot of sense. Yeah, you know, telling them
(17:08):
the devil to just get back, you know, because.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
You know you can't have what you you what we
have over here, you know, because Satan's always in the
business of of messing things up and instand I'm saying, Yeah,
So that's that's awesome, awesome number one seven. Guess who
(17:37):
I got for number seven? My brother? And who would
you get for number seven? D J Morton? Better? Oh? Man?
Speaker 3 (17:47):
I figured I figure either either you was gonna bring
p J.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Morton up next or it will be somewhere down the line.
Did you here? Do you know that song?
Speaker 3 (17:57):
You heard that song better?
Speaker 2 (18:01):
I heard?
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Yes, I heard that song better and also, uh, until
I found you it's also is.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
A it's a beautiful piece.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
All his music in general is is pretty, is pretty good.
You can't you can't never go wrong with p J. Morton. Yeah,
you're right, you're right.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
But have you heard it?
Speaker 3 (18:26):
You heard the live version?
Speaker 2 (18:29):
No?
Speaker 3 (18:30):
I haven't.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
The live version is not no joke. He's like in
one of his houses and he got like artists are
all over the world and basically he got some pastors,
he got some some leaders that's out there and they
doing nothing but singing. He has his musicians there and
(18:56):
they're doing it live. Wow. And can you imagine that
that that scene or that that that feeling of that
song live. I've seen him. I've seen him do it
with the women. I've seen him doing it with the men.
Both both times he did it was nice. But when
(19:18):
he when he did it with everybody all together, oh
my goodness, he's ridict Wow, he's ridiculous. But I mean
the reason being you can't go wrong with p J.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Morton because he is the son of this Sir PAULS.
Morton seen so he like even though he made not
play he may not be in the church, but he
still has big shoes to fill because that name alone
(19:52):
just it just carries weight. Just like David Blakely's name
carries weight, so does p J. Morton, and he has
you know, he I think he's doing a pretty good job.
Yes he is.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Did you know he used to play for Maroon five
for real? Yeah? For real?
Speaker 3 (20:14):
I did not know that. Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yop.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Wow, see you killing these things. I didn't even know.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Man.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Yeah, he used to play for play Keys for a
Room five.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yup. Wow, that's amazing. That's great. That's that's going on.
And so that's why we had him on this list.
You never never know. He may he may be number
one next time. You never know.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Huh, Right, who's never first?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Bro? So number six for me, I would.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Say, this is gonna this is gonna sound crazy. Uh,
I would say the late wayman Teasdale. Okay, he's a
jazz bassis. But also I'm not sure if you if
(21:21):
you used to watch basketball back in the day, he
used to play for the Phoenix Suns.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yes, so.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Not only you know he played for the Phoenix Suns,
but I believe in one of his h interviews he
always had a love for music.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Like the smooth, the smooth jazz infused with you know,
R and B and gospel. Just like just listening to
his whole instrumentation is just pretty much mind blowing for me.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yes, exactly, exactly, very mind blowing.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
And he's a left he's a lefty. He plays bass
left handed.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Wow. And he's you say he's a lefty, Yeah, he
played he's a LEFTI yeah, he's left handed. Yeah. Oh
so so that must that that must be good thing
because I'm a leftie too, So, uh, that's that's good
for being the left be because all lefties are really good,
(22:39):
you know.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Yeah, anytime anytime you hear or you see a player
who's who's left who's a left handed player, be be
ready to enjoy the good musical problems that awaits us.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Right I've got that. You're right about that.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
You're right about that. Also, Jimmy Hendricks, Jimmy Hendrix is
a LEFTI wow.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, I got to check that out and study that then.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, Jimmy Hendrix, Yeah he's lefty. Yeah, Coole, we keep
it open into number five. Guess who I got for
number five?
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Bro? Who you got for number five? You ready? I'm ready,
I'm ready. When it was to FM two and the international,
we made it, Mike Burrell and the crew and of
the musicians. Have you heard that song yet? Now I
have it.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
You're gonna have to send me the copy of the
song so I could take a listen to it.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Yeah, I said this, check it out, everybody on the
All of these songs that we are talking about, they
are on YouTube, so you all can look it up
after the show is over.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
But this song is.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Called we Made It, and Mike Burrell is on that
keyboard and he got that crew musicians.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Oh man, another problematic musician in a good way.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Yeah, he's gonna be He's gonna be one of the
persons to be shining the light on because uh uh,
I liked it with his style.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
His style is.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Ridiculous and I noticed that he's not only a musician,
he's a singer too. I didn't it blew it blew
me away.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
While I heard him saying, I was like, hold up,
wait a minute, what planet that he came from?
Speaker 2 (24:58):
I mean, yeah, he's not just a musician, he's a
singer too. He's amazing. I'm like, I'm wondering if he's
out here this year for for the uh the stellar
or a g m A W g M w A,
because normally he's out here around this time.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Hopefully you will. I mean he was actually at now
this year, wasn't mm hmmm? Him and his cousin Bennett
pay singer Ano another problematic musician in a good way. Yeah,
then then it ain't no joke.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
He's supposed to be on our show. We'll soon, so
we're gonna be able to interview him pretty soon, or
we're gonna talk about him pretty soon. You know. Man,
that's that's gonna be off the charts. I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
I can't wait. I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Bro, that's number.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Four, number four.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
I would have to say, man, conditions, Oh what is that?
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Man?
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Conditions? Hits from my pretty brown eyes? You know, you
know what kind of man would I be?
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Oh my goodness, because you know how that was on
my mind because that's one of their main hits. And
I grew up on.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Men condition Man the definition of a band. I mean
I can truly say man condition. You know that Minnesota
sound they they literally was a true definition of a band.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
From whether it's it's studio or if they're doing live concerts,
they're to me, they're just definition of a band.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Wow to Chris Daddy Daves, we we thank him for
for showing all of us how to play with the band.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yes, you're right, that's right, that's right. I'm gonna take
into I'm gonna take you into worship right now for
number three. Okay, what a beautiful name by He'll sing worship.
That is amazing song. Oh my goodness. I can hear
every church singing this song, Okay, but the one that
(27:46):
I like hearing it out here is TC in my
they off of Rancho and I think Ramt and Rainbow. Uh.
That name that that that song is just flows through
my my muscles, through my things, uh, through everything. If
(28:10):
I just hear it on the radio, even if I
hear it on S O S radio. It's shut like ooh,
like wow. You you know, you know when the when
the annoyting, when you feel then annoying through a song
and you can feel that person singing that song, it's
like wow wow. And where they're from again, it's called
(28:36):
what a beautiful name. It's called it's from He'll song,
kill song, kill song worship. It's called what a beautiful name.
You know, you can't a lot of people sleep on
hell song. A lot of people sleep on hill song.
(28:57):
If you want that pure worship, hell song is where
it to be. That's true. That's true. Yeah, that's true.
That's true. Number to what you got for number two?
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Bro, I would have to say, uh.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Pd trivit yep? That song? Uh everything new, new new new?
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Yeah yeah, man, I believe that. Like and when I
sat down and I listened to it, I have to
I counted how many times he said.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
The word new? How many times do you think.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
I believe he said it seven times? Because I think
bifically seven.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Means com pee uh huh. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
So and then his music, like his music collections, like
the way how he composed music is just on a
whole other level. Yeah, you're right. Besides him preaching. I
(30:26):
believe like not only he's an awesome artist, but also
he preaches the word exactly. He knows how to bring
the word. He breaks it down to even when even
the kids understand what he's saying, that everything new, new,
(30:51):
new new.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Yeah, so check this out. Uh, you're gonna have to
give a drum roll in a little bit number one. Ready,
ready to drum roll for number one?
Speaker 3 (31:13):
All right, I love it, bro, I love it.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
And I call uh Tim Bowen, j Jim.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Tim Bowman Junior and Pastor Tim Burrell and the Faith
City Missing I mean music tribute performance of the legendary
Clark Sisters. Have you seen that? No?
Speaker 3 (31:46):
I haven't you go all this stuff to me? Man, Okay, I.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Will beause, but listen, look up Tim Bowen when he's
doing he does all the stars. Basically he did tribute
this black history and he did. I think Clark's Sisters
was one of the first ones that he did. And okay,
(32:13):
there they're the choir is nothing but.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Most of the youth.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
And you got a few singings, I mean not singing,
but uh, people's that's my age. You understand what I'm saying.
That's out there, and they really dancing, making it happen,
making it, you know, making you know, singing the song.
You know, you know gaps you know somettimes you get
(32:42):
gaps in you know in the music ass as you're playing,
you know you're gonna sing and stuff like that. They
like songs, song after song, song after the song. It's
like for a whole hour and fifteen twenty minutes they
singing there that that particular artist sunk. Wow. So I'm
(33:09):
gonna have to see you this this this young man's
name and then and the group and acquired. But bro,
I think this was a good show on to day.
What you think. I think it's awesome, man.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
Man, So I.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Can't wait to what what's gonna happen on next week.
Uh Uh, It's gonna be an amazing show. Say something
positive to the world, my brother.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Well as far as positivity. All I can all I
can say is pray, keep God first, and stay true
to your craft.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
And the man. All I can say is love one
another and love them to the fullest because you never
know if they are going to be leaving this earth.
You never know when they're going.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
To leave this earth.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
So basically, love them until they're gone, because and don't
don't don't give them their flowers right now, give them
their awards right now, because you can't give them their
awards when they're dead and gone, you know, So give
them their flowers while you see them. That's basically what
(34:34):
I'm saying. Right So, I would like to think, uh
uh engineer, are uh overseer Jerry Royce for being there
with us on this platform on Positive Power putting one
