how are you.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I'm going fine, can't complain. Greetings from the old park.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Mall okay, I love it. I love it, my brother.
Tonight we're just gonna that kid to show to legendary
Massy Birch, Mom Birch from the Misteria Mississippi mass Choir.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
We got a lot of things to talk about her tonight.
She has been a pillar to this world, a pillar
to this world. You understand she's touched a lot of
lives as we speak through that choir and just talking
to her, she has touched a lot of lives, my brother.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yes, not only that. You know, anytime you give Mama
Moses Burkes the mic, it's game over. You did not
getting a mic back?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
You can get it.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
That's That's all I can truly say about Mama Mosey
bergs is you give her the mic, don't expect it
to get it back.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
That's it. You must as well forget it, drop it
at that right right, That's true.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
But I must say every time when she opens her mouth,
you know you can feel the annoyance and you can
don't feel it, but you feel like your life literally
changed being before your eyes whenever she opens her mouth
and saints every time.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yes, yes, yes, you're right about that. Yes, yeah, But
I'm saying to the world that don't know about Mama
Museley Birds, that she has transitioned and went with the Lord.
And I'm asking you, Mom that we love you and
(03:59):
we have senior to rest world well as you, uh
went with this transition.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
That I can I can think about her song this
morning when I Rose.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Cut it out. I guess you just went all the
way into you just went all the way into my, my, my, my, countdown,
my brother. I'm just messing with you.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
But she didn't have no doubt, she.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Didn't have no kind of doubt none whatsoever. Yes, uh,
it's it's just very touching that she touched a lot
of people, right, young, gig, small or old, and you know, white, black, color, purple, pink, yellow,
(05:02):
She touched everyone with her in her smile.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
She a trendsetter in her own right.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yes, yes, sir, that's right. We're gonna go to our
top tens because we gotta both be somewhere and make
sure that everyone gets, you know, the glory out of this.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
You know, it's gonna be a serve everyone so what
you got for number ten?
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Lember Ken coming from Fort Worth, Texas. Okay, uh, the
young lady herself. She she's Estellia Award Stella Award winner winner.
Uh Tamela man change me o god, Okay, Tamala come
(05:58):
from her.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
She can cook too.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah. She her and her husband, both of them been cooked.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
And I would love to sit down at the table
and just have a plate, just one plate.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
So just say what they bro just just one one plate, right,
some of their Southern cooking, right.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
They're just one ain't being greeding? Just one Yeah, you.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Know, speaking of Southern place, you know, you know you
can't go in taste any and everybody's cooking. Reason why
I'm saying or whatever. In that situation in the South
or in when I went to Texas, it was very
(06:54):
hard to find a place. Either I was going to
the wrong place or I was going to the Uh.
I wasn't going to the right one. But the people
or the places, they was not seasoning their meat right.
(07:14):
So I know when I got back to Vegas, my
brother I had to make some barbecue. So I made
some barbecue on the fourth of July.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Amen to Adam the other Amen. Oh, yes, we're playing
y'all at barbecue.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Don't go all the way to Stacking in California. Okay,
this young this young man, he has always been blessing
to me on any aspect. If it's not talking to
him face to face, it's talking to him through the music,
(07:57):
it's talking to him just basically, uh, basically when he's
doing the tour or whatever, watching him play, he's just awesome. Well,
he's on that kid. He knows that kid, and he
(08:18):
knows exactly what he's doing. He knows and he and
what's the trip over about it. He's a businessman like
both of us. Oh okay, Yeah, he's a businessman like
both of us. And he's from Stackton, Ohio. But he's trying.
He's moved to Las Vegas. He has a hotel that's
(08:43):
out here, that's out of this world. The reason why
I say it's a hotel because he had a studio
full of drums. Every room that you go to it's
known for his drums. Let's say Eric Moore, Okay, all right, yes, yes,
(09:06):
the owner of Dope Sticks and the songs that I'm
going with is Joy. Reason want to send Joy because
the way he approached that song. It's so dope, it's ridiculous.
The only Rolex wearing drummer. He lets you.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Know it's a Rolex when you play.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Oh my goodness, Yeah, I know you've got a chance
to lead them or see him Women's at the Las
Vegas Club, I mean Las Figga's drum.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Show, right, the Las Vegas Drum Show was the second
time I met him. I met him first time while
I went to Noam okay at I must say that
the Nam show. All I have to say is you
have to be on your a game mentally and emotionally.
(10:07):
You have. It's a game changer, but it makes you
look at things and a totally different perspective.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yes, because, uh, when you're down down there and now
you got so many musicians that you've seen or and
you talk to and and you can say hello to
that you had never seen before, it did a tripped.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yah.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah, So that was an experience. So number three, we're
gonna go go all the way to uh San Jose, California. Yeah,
that's number three on my side, and that's not number
(11:05):
from yours, I guess. So that's the number seven. Brent
Jones Live, I mean live your best life. This song
is nothing but fire. You're talking about that rhythm or
that beat to that, it's it's really amazing or it's
(11:31):
off the chain. It's like anything that Brent Jones are
put together, even if if it's outside. He puts his
heart in it. He puts everything in it, and he
doesn't give you know, give you anything fake nor phony.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
That's true, that's.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Very very true.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
And we we love Brent Jones to that because everything
about him is is real even you know, just as
you said, live your best wife and nothing else matters.
It's real.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yeah, that's true. That's true. That is true, and we
appreciate it. Yeah, we appreciate Bryton Jones to live. Yeah,
that's very sensive. Anything you know, Brent Jones putting out
his mouth to it's like central and I like that
(12:33):
that way that heads. You know. He gives his songs
and he puts his mind to it. And once he
puts his mind to it, it's it's it's off the
charge and for charge. Yeah, he made the billboards quite
(12:55):
a few quite a few times. He made it to
number one quite a few times. Brent Jones, he has
a heart for his people, for godspeople, that you notice that.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, a big huge heart.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, that's true. Second to the last song that I'm
giving to you is gonna. She's coming from all the
way from Arizona that you haven't never heard this person.
I really liked her because of her the way she
(13:34):
is a maestro and the way that she speaks it's ridiculous,
and the way she sings with that keys, and the
way she's artists with herself. Her name is uh Emma Missing, okay.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
She's a jazz gospel singer and another Kimbrell, Yes, yes,
another chemistry Kimbarell. She she sings and Maxley and them
runs though it's really like she does stuff that you can't.
(14:20):
You're not unexpected, it's very unexpected. And that's uh. Just
look her up, bro. Her name is Emma Nice and
it's a M M A and I s s A.
(14:42):
She's uh a sister from another mother. Let's put it
like that. I was like, all right, another sister from
another mother and and her voice is like wow, she
sings like this. The song I'm giving to this world
(15:07):
of this podcast is called Breathe Okay, so check it out.
And the last one and I'm given to the world
is uh, mother, mother burkes, I'm not tired yet from
(15:30):
the Mississippi mass Choir.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
All right, Mama bird, Mama.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Birks when she sings that song. I'm not tired yet.
That's that's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
That song never gets old.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yeah, and it's gonna live. It's gonna live, It's gonna
live to then, let's put it like that. It's gonna today.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, So.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
What you got?
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I know you've got some good stuff, some good stuff.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
So what we have? So for number five, he's a
well known drummer, known across the world. He's played with
one of the top popular bands in US history. And
(16:35):
he just literally had a birthday, a big shout outs
and a big happy birthday to drummer and recording artists himself,
mister Ringo star who just turned eighty five.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Yeah, why why eighty five? Eighty five? And he's still
tapping and kicking.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
And the crazy part is he doesn't even know look
his age. That is the crazy part. That's the crazy part.
Don't even a looking age at all.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
That's a blessing, that is truly the blessings. Shout out
to my father Robert Swift. He turned eighty three this year.
And just like you said, he doesn't look his age.
He can mess you up if you want a haircut.
(17:40):
That was the one in Las Vegas that you needed
to go to because he was well known out here.
Mister Swift, mister Swift, and he's exactly what who they
call him to, smister Swift or Swift.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Yeah, so that name got swag, you.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Know, Yeah, it does, don't it. You noticed that?
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yes, I sure do. Not Taylor Swift now that don't count.
But your name and the Swift name itself has swag.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah. He has a lot of swag in her brother,
lots of swag. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I'm very known for them clippers, very clippers.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
And just like you're very known to play drums. Yeah,
apple doesn't fall from the tree.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
You know it. You know it. And thanks thank God
for him because he taught me a lot of stuff
when it comes to those uh till it comes to
the business business aspect about it.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
You know.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
As matter of fact, he taught me something to today.
He kept on teaching me today. Son, we gotta finish something,
you gotta hang in it until it's over. That's basically
what he's telling me today.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
And then exactly what I was trying to do, but
it was out of my hands. The we was trying
to put a dress it together, but the school had
went it too the the wood too much, and so
(19:19):
we basically gotta go. I gotta go get another school,
or I gotta find another way to get in the
wood to make it happen. But otherwise, my daddy was
was telling me it ain't over until it's over, right,
So hang in there, So get in there and do
it right.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
There's nothing else to it but to do it.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Somebody got to do it. Somebody got to do it right.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
So not only you know, shout out to Raino Star
on his birthday from La. Now we're about to go
up to Indiana, the good old city of Indianapolis, mister
Lacey Homer. One thing I can truly say about Lacey Comer.
He's one's upcoming young talented musicians. From playing drums, playing keys,
(20:16):
playing bass. Also he's a Saviian in dorsea with Sadanan symbols,
and he's worked with, of course Marvin sat on live performances.
He's known to play at the PAW conferences. And you know,
(20:40):
I never met the guy, but he's a. I could
tell he's a pretty cool, humble young young guy coming
up shout outs, A big shout outs to mister Lacey
Comer represent the Indy as.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
The Indye so so from.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
And then only that from Indianapolis to uh, let's.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Say back to l A.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Well, this guy, you know, he's a.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
He's a. He's originated from Shreveport.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Louisiana, and he has made his mark in a in
a music industry, you know as the drummer behind Michael
Jackson's hit song Billy Jean. He's also uh, he's also
a professor. He's also he used to be a professor
at USC and you could catch him on TV on
(21:43):
the TV show the BDT Walk of Fame playing drums
for this for the Stevie Wonder tribute and Aretha Franklin tribute.
He's known working with Patrise, Patrise Russian and I called
this guy mister Ingogo Chancellor who sadly went to glory
(22:06):
eight years ago to his battle of cancer.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Yeah, and one that.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
The coolest thing about Indugo Chancellor is out of all
of that, you know with him, you know, doing studio
work and playing live television shows and going on tour.
Oh yeah, he worked with George Duke. By the way.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
The coolest thing about in dougu is he had a job.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
That like he had he had a he has his
degree in music education. And I thought that that was
the coolest thing ever for a musician to still do
what he does and have a nine of five in
the same occupation. I think that's the that's the coolest
(23:04):
thing ever.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
That is really good.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Yeah, so coming coming from the heavens just looking down,
we love you and Dougoe canceling, Yes, right, yeah, and
from of course, uh as much as we love Lat's
let's let's go over to uh, let's go back. Let's
(23:29):
go to Las Vegas real quick. You know, Uh I
met I met this guy years ago when I lived
in Las Vegas.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Uh, new new.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Kid on the block, trying to get in where I
sit in as a musician, and I met him. Uh
as Alpha and Omega Ministries off of Martin Luther King.
You remember Alpha and Omega Ministries. Bishop Frank Gastin, Yes.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Miss him.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
I miss him, oh man. So not only you know
his it's humble upbringing started front in the church and
now he's Grammy nominated. He's the Grammy nominated producer, musician,
you know, songwriter, uh and he's known. You will see
(24:24):
him on the road with t I, Faith Evans, A
Snoop Dog Ray, Shrimmered and without no further ado, mister King.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Ban Yes, sir, yes, sir yes, uh yes. A matter
of fact, King Abel to a lot of our of
our festivals. He's always showed up. He's always showed up,
and there was sometimes he was like judge over at
(24:57):
the festivals and Gray. I love his style, I love
his photocol. I love the way he puts his time
into his music in his studio. It's like he's like
a goverminant person, you know, to uh, person to really
(25:18):
talk to and just break grid and just to chat with,
you know, and you know anything, because he's been to
a lot of places that you know us even as
your old seasonal musicians you know, been through, he's been there, right.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
And not only that, I remember a few times where
I had some issues, and he's just easy to Like
you said, he's easy to talk to, he's easy to approach,
and he's one of those guys that keeps it real.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Yeah. Definitely, definitely most definitely.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Yeah, that's my that's my kind of people. That's my
favorite kind of people. I like. I like hanging out
with people, and I like talking to people that keeps it.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Real, not sugarcoated now, but keeps his native like you said,
keep keeps it real. No, no, possibly, no cutting corners,
just real.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Yeah, it makes you appreciate everything in life.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Yeah, King Fai has a lot to bring to the
table and honor that you know and another man as
your brother, because people, you know, misjudge people, and you know,
prejudge people and don't realize who who you have in
(26:54):
the room. You know, you got honorary people and stuff
like that, and people that that's been there where you
want to get to that that you need to talk to,
you know. That's that's that's what I'm saying, don't don't
prejudge people and misjudge people over certain things. And you
(27:16):
haven't even been to the places that he has been to.
He's been all over the world, he's toured over the world.
He's done stuff that you need to be to be at,
you know. So that's basically what I'm saying. You know,
people you know, disrespect people and don't even know where
that person has been.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
You know, right, you are absolutely right about that. Yeah,
But shout out to mister king Bay himself, King By,
if you're listening, Hey, you're doing a good job. Keep
doing what you're doing, and we'll see you at the Gramms. Yeah,
(28:00):
he will see you at the Grammy. We will get
the count Grammy King Vey, Yep. And the thing about
it is he's very he's very appreciative of all the
comments of it. He's very appreciative. And so so we
(28:28):
went to we went from LA to Indiana, back to
LA back to Las Vegas. Now we're about to go
to We're about to really park the bus and take
it on home from here from the city of Chicago. Now,
(28:49):
I met this guy years ago when I took interest
of becoming an audio engineer. I didn't I didn't have
no idea of who he was connected to. I knew
he was a musician and he has worked with Yolanda
(29:11):
Adams on Ben Tanker, Chakaina Glory, just just the name those.
And he's also an author. He's also a facilitator and
a seminar speaker, and his brother is a monster on
(29:34):
the keys. He actually play keys for Beyonce, Frankie Beverly
and May's Karen Clark, Sheer, Donald Lawrence just to name
a few. And uh, they called the Weatherspoon brother. So
I'm gonna introduce him to as mister Michael Weatherston.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Wow. Oh yeah, Yeah, he's awesome. He's he's out of
this world.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Not only like his plan is remarkable, but just just say,
hear him talk, hear him speed, give about like words
of wisdom. It's you know, second to nine, Yeah, definitely, yes,
(30:33):
sexual second to nine. So that's your last one. That's
the last one.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
So but.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
That was an awesome ten top ten basically. But I
know you have some some place to go. I know
