we have to do is accept you. All we have
to do is walk by faith and not by say.
Too many of us are trying to see. We're trying
to see, we're trying to figure it out for ourselves,
when you've already worked it out. Father God, I trust
and not believe in you. I trust and not believe
in you, no matter what the situation may be. Father God,

I'll never forget my daughter, my youngest daughter, who doesn't
do very much, but she was taking gymnastics, so she
was practicing on one of her cart wheels and all
of her was it in minda This is one that
never caused me. For an calls on me for munch Mama.
It was one of those mama tones that I knew
it was a problem. So here I go, run into

the living room and she had turned the flip and
she went up with her leg.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Whatever she did that leg I crosed. Thank god jam
was at home from college at that time. She had
to go into ash like so whatever.

I don't even remember what I saw, but whatever it is,
I knew my child was in trauma. Something was so
what we had to work into the emergency room and
she came back home in a cast and U what you.

Anyway, I just han't I can't hear my country boys boys,
but I have to work on that another time.

Talk about today on mummies. We usually talk about if
we did something on the weekend. We usually talk about
our weekend freaking.

So for me, I guess i'd like to I guess
I'll go first.

I will mention of I want to mean just because
we do talk about things that are.

We talk about every report on things that we are
not satisfied with. And I have a huge success story
from the weekend I went to.

I participated there. She's a she used to be a
club owner. Now she's kind of a promoter.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
She gives me beds.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
She's an event player, decorator. Her name is Miss t
is what we've always called her. She used to own
this club called Rendezvous off of us. She told me
the other day she owns I can't on the show.
She says, she too shot to be on the show,
which I don't know how the Tea things she's shot
because she ms Peters is sitting in front of her
club with her microphone a whole nice into the microphone

at the front door, so I didn't even know she
had a show in her body.

Speaker 2 (11:17):

She has owned several different clubs around the around Houston
that I didn't know until Saturday. But it was only
of Rendezvous, which is right here at like timemartin Antoine
and everybody that was anybody went through their little hole
in the wall.

But it was it was nice. But anyway, she gives
different events at times.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
She does.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
She's big about recognizing some of the old school musicians.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
I don't know if you've ever heard of Sammy Rafford,
uh Rude Davis. She's involved with all of them is
and was because we lost Sammy Rafford and we just
lost Casanova. That was someone else she promoted a lot,
was Casanova. We lost him last week.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Man lose it.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
We lose the people a lot. But a lot of
our singers are going on home to glory. But so
her event was a yacht trip in keep Up and
I kept seeing it, but I know it was really hers.
I know she was hosted, but something told me to

call and say, sure, your event and she said yes.
It was September twentieth, which is my kids father's that's
his actual birthday in September twentieth.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
So I thought, let me see if people want to
do this, this would be something different to do.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
And so he said, oh yeah, cool, And I'm gonna
just tell you the price for you're gonna you'll understand
this other part that the corps was two hundred and
six dollars and I don't know how it happened. Two
hundred and sixty thousand. Boy, it's on the scent like
that was the weirdest price. But anyway, my wed has
been too thin, but two hundred thousand, but you know,
you do I didn't really think about the price, to

be honest with because we were gonna be on the ship.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Or you can eat food or you can eat drink
is what I thought it was. It was two level
DJ all that stuff.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Anyway, so we started, I called everybody, said who well,
I called a few people, and that's about celebrate DC's birthday,
and so I let him do the rest. He kind
of get all the other ragers. Anyway, I sent her
a picture but not story short, it was amazing. It
was absolutely amazing that she also invited everyone to bring

their cards or the postcards so they can advertise whatever
business they had or they have a big coming up.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
They can do that. And I always think, you know
how I feel about that. I think, now, no, I.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Don't think a club should go on another club in
announce and unless it's something they're doing us over that
work and even but I do think it's filly when
clubs want something that has nothing to do with the
time the club is open and they have nothing ever
to do with a club that they say, you can't
advertise with my club.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
You know, I think that's stupid. But anyway, she was very.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
Gracious and let us come in and bring bring cars
and advertise. When we got there, we walked to the
back of the boat, big boat to store two floors,
and I almost failed child anyway down the stairs there
was a wind. It glad nobody got on video, you
know when everybody having video cameras, who glad it didn't

didn't catch me.

But they walked to the back.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Where we were, and that's like a little little area,
a little rounded off area that could be probaly because
you can close the doors if you want to. That's
where they had ditric set up at birthdays. But apparently
we had the most people. So she sat up in
this little round area probably little area that off. There
were one, two, three tables of us.

What else.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
They had him a cake decorated. I'm gonna post the video.
I'm trying to make the video and I just haven't
finished it yet. They had the cake there for him
with his little I mean, it made him feel very welcome.
It made him feel and I was like, I ain't
do none of this. I don't wanna take no credit.
All I did was find out how much, where to go,
where to be in, how to send the movie. So
I give all up to his teeth. They had a

really nice picture of him in a frame. They had
a lighter with his picture on it, like all the
little knickknack stuff.

That was so wonderful.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
But I'm gonna tell you so you know, we talked
about sometimes the food when people are so stingy with food. Hey,
I don't need chicken wings, so kend I have an
extra meatball, and they if I had, you get what
you know?

I hate that, but I don't want no chicken. You
give my chicken and somebody else. Let me have a meatball.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Whatever these people had day, do you give me nice
that really nice, beautiful thing, not just some steak. It
was a good steak and chicken. And guess what, country boy,
you got both of them. You did not have to choose, you,

you didn't have to choose.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Then got to end the line. They had asparagus.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
I don't want to I can't say I don't like
asparagus because I don't never had it, but I didn't
want it. So you know what I'm said, I really
don't like it's fairy. Could I have some extra rice?
Guess what they said? That?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
No problem? Quit servant food. If you don't have the
money to feed everybody.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
These people didn't have no problem to giving me a
and they didn't give you just two or three the
little whatever what you call it, a little pieces of rice.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
They gave me a whole servant extra serving of rice. Wow,
that's how you do it.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
So right then I knew, well I knew before I
got a thing, because I saw everybody this plate. But
once I got mine, I realized it was worth every time,
before we even do anything else, it was worth.

It was worth for the.

Die and a good chicken that was made with some
type of mushroom gravy and rice and a sparracus and
ooh and then oh my gosh, they had a short
cheesecake and it had so many freaking raspberries and berries
on it, both blackberries on it. Take this.

It was all life, the food, that was all. It
was everything.

Speaker 2 (17:04):

Speaker 3 (17:05):
It was three hours from twelve to three. Okay, ooh
that team Kate was good.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
But anyway, so downstairs they have a table, so everybody ate.
Then they let everybody come up and oh, people got I.

Got an award. I got an award from I think
rob Renold's office.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
But anyway, I got a little certificate in a nice
binder that said I brought the most people on the
ship on the boat, so that was kind of cool.
Then they let everybody, could they care? Let everyone come
up and talk about their business a few minutes. They
ain't get on time lent.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Now they might as should get the timelent, but they
ain't get on timeling, which was kind of cool. Let's
see who what else happened? Oh, miss Joey, and what
do my mama always say? Come over and play?

What she thought? What cause?

Oh god, mama, Mama and Ronaldo won an award trophy.
It's big.

A big old trophy. Wow they didn't They up and
cards out there, and now she likes they like. She
don't like. She liked Big Whiz. They didn't play Big Wiz.

They played bade mm hmm, I said all that card
played and paid off off.

D came down there thro down the steps with his
down there, and then it was time to go up.
Oh the everything was brought to you except the food
you had to go. But the what I really did
like how they arranged everybody to get their foods so
there wouldn't be some long line of people. They they

they told table by table, and everybody followed rules. I'll
say that because sometimes they try to do this another
work because people don't follow the rules. Mama, she ate
two cheesecakes. So they had like two tapes up time
eran so it was never a long line. Once when
you got up, he was get to the line. So
then once they the DJ started playing. Oh, they had

the birthday people.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Run up and down the ais, you know, for their birthday.
Then we went upstairs, upstairs.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
When you go upstairs and stay downtownstairs and mingle or whatever.
But upstairs was another the bar downstairs bar upstairs. But
they came to you and brought the food. And remember
I said, all drinks were included, all you can drink.
The food was not all you could eat. And I'll
have no problem with that because the food.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Y'all gave us, they gave us. It didn't need to
be all you didn't eat. And it was very filling.
I mean a literally whole steak.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
I got a steak and that chicken went upstairs and
there was the dance floor and that's where the car
playing went on.

The cars and the dominoes.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
It was like an old school part. It was there
playing dominoes cards after the lady that Mama beat love
for the death of all. She was beautiful, red orange hair,
she was.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
She was the one calling him out. Y'all.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Let's say they need to get finished with that and
we can go on and play cards. So we got
a car and that's who Molly them ended up beating.
But but they gave Mama and m make frox uh.
But then we had there was a DJ I cannot
remember his dame, but I know him from the Red Rooster.
And we had a very good time off their We
did some line, you know, we put the boots on
the ground.

It was one lady that I was going in.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
She was having trouble getting on the boat because look
she could walk good, but she had her boots on
and I told her, you, finn, to put your boots
on the ground. She said, they own now on the ground.
Well we had it was really good time.

It was three hours.

And it was just it was a great time, country boy.
And I am I hope she does this again because
it was really really fun, no arguments, no drama, It
was straight up fun. And she aimed to please and
she did it and I think there were two people
with her sort of the witch color thing.

up to you because that was my always and Star
Group is planning to have one next year. But look,
she also like a quick comparison. In New Orleans for
s S Festival, we went on a big boat and
it was three floors, three or four floors, and it

had a DJ on every floor.

But I tell you, the food was and don't run.

At the time, I thought we was fancy because we
had chicken strips, chicken strips, fish strips and some salad
or whatever. But once I got on that boat the
other day, yacht, they said, don't call it the boat,
it's a yacht. Once we were on that yacht the
other day, I thought a difference, And the difference was
in the money. We played less for that trip.

In at essence, but it was so much fun. But
this one I have the only h only.

Thing I will well let me I say that because
I got to tell you, Yeah, there's the little song
something that I would that I would tweak. But that's
something I would say offline, I would say offline, but

was great, had a good time, red forse random people

really was excited about them. They invited their patrons to
join in, and they brought a bus vote of god
what nineteen or twenty they met it. Bethy Maids got
on the boat driver drove in the Tekma and they.

Came back and had the after party at bethy Maids.
They like, y'all. But I was tired, and my wife
wasn't white no moment. My wife was black, So I
had to go home and change.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
But yeah, so I was very prisoned by that, which
definitely gave me some ideas if you read between the line.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
So yeah, my weekend was great.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
Friday, me and a friend of mine I went to
see her at a place called Privilege. And I'm gonna
tell you y'all about I've been sitting a lot on TikTok.
I don't know you see it because your boy, Because
I get a lot of stuff about nightlife because that's
what I'm looking looking at.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
So I get a lot about that. But then well,
you know how now you go to these venues now.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
That you have to buy a bottle to get a
section or you gotta get a section and all this
stuff and these bottles in four or five. Now, mind you,
I understand because I come from the club side, that
you have to upcharge the bottle because you gotta refill
the bottle and buy another bottle. You gotta sell get
money off each glass out of there, and then you
have to purchase another bottle.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
I get that part, but you can't tell me these
eight nine hundred bottles came came.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Yeah, And the crazy thing is is people out here
because they're floss and they're doing it, they're paying.

But all that to say is that.

I've been seeing a lot of tiktoks people since last week.
People are getting fed up with the cost having it.
You know, you gotta pay parking. And to my story
and personal story, when I went to Privilege the other.

Day, what was.

God, there is like a big strip center. It's a
big parking lot and the club is just one little station.
They had cons everywhere. Here's how much they.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Can charge the park twenty bucks.

Now I'm somebody that does not mind paying for valet parking.
But when I say valet parking, I ain't saying, Paul,
give you twenty dollars for me to walk to the
club and walk back twenty dollars at sam Booka, I
paid them things like eighteen dollars.

Just twenty dollars.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
I want to drop get out at the door and
hearing you my keys go while I do it. When
I come back, you bring my car to me. I'll
give you twenty dollars for that. But I have to
give them people twenty dollars because I couldn't win the
more free body in so you know they're always gonna
have some gamers. I'm twenty dollars for me to get
out my own call, park my own call, get out
of my car, and go into the building.

But you know what I did went? So what After that?

We went to Prime forty four. My girlfriend wanted to
go over to Prime. Wanted here's a lot of music,
because they don't have a lot of music.

Went to Prime forty four really really fun. But I
left my party.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
I said, I'm around with you because I need to
give my whole twenty dollars worth of this parking.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
So I'm rolling with you, and that's what we did.
We came back and got it later on that night.

But country boy, you know that we used to go
to the and I you know, after working with club barters,
I know I don't have a problem with paying to
get into a club because I hear a lot of
people say they don't want pay to get in the club.

I mean, but I know you got bills to pay,
You got people to pay, especially if you have a
five band. But be charging me twenty bucks to park,
then you want me to pay. Then you don't want
me to buy some drinks.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
And if I don't buy the drinks, you're gonna be
trying to rush me out. Yeah, and then lots of

called I forget what she used to call her thing, but.

She had these parties.

It was almost like back in the day when those
dances where the women would go ask the men. She
would have this thing and the men would wear like
a pin and they'd have three little stickers on and
they would if a woman coming after the dance they
get to take, they give them in a pin.

That's why they give the men something. So the end
of the night will show how many times the men
danced with a woman that asked them that we that's
just how I'm saying.

It is really real thing because we've had they had
to go that far to try to get women some dances.
We used to have a group called what called a
perfect gentleman. It was called oh my god, this is
stinguish gentleman. When I had my galas, I used to
have them come and be a part of it so
that they could be there. When they see women sit
at the table with nobody to dance with, they would
go to the tables. And that's when this is way

back when when matter of fact, oh it's over that
when anyway, I think it was like twenty sixteen.

When I was giving those galas.

We had to get them to come in, because there
were women that then paid twenty five thirty dollars.

Now they shit, they fand almost one hundred dollars to
go thro an event.

Now I hear and they're sitting there with no one
to dances because they're thinking they've taken these classes.

And they're being promised, Oh, we had all these events
for y'all to dance.

Go to dance when you'll be able to use your skills, black,

They get there and they're there. So I didn't want
that to happen.

So I made arrangements with perfect what they called it,
distinguished gentleman yep, John thorny Tony to come in and
asked ladies to dance when they saw them sitting at
the table for a long time.

So this is a long time that has been going on.

It's just some of the things that we kind of
put in place, such as a distinguished gentleman, they don't
have it anymore.

And none of those princesses that I'm talking about, none
of them were any distinguished gentleman.

Just but no, you're absolutely right, Country were on one

probably not the place for me to go on that

of us have stopped going there. I haven't haven't been
there in two weeks because I know, not only go
through a week just to do some little.

Line dancing, but and then usually on the night they
have this third Sunday deal.

Where all of them go over there to Red Rooster,
and so there's usually the leftovers for us to have
to dance with because the special people that went so
wellst but we have them.

To dance with. They didn't even as it was last night.

So the way, it's eight forty nine and we gotta
get off at eight fifty two. So we probably we're
not gonna talk about my topic tonight, but I will
say this, we will have if we were gonna talk
about a topic I've been thinking about. We had a
call last week. We had a virtual tea party, which
is another highlight of my week last week. You know,

you can join different organizations, right women organizations, which is
something I promise I'll do because you know, I don't
really do women, but I wanted to join By last year,
here be for last, I said, I wanted join some
organizations with women to try to do my thing. I
even started own my own little kind I tried to
do like a social club, which ain't working out.

But it's all good. But pretty girls rock. I will
tell you.

We may not talk to each other all the time,
see each other all the time, but when you come
to together, it's an amazing feeling. So we had a
virtual t worthy because Ronda said, you know, we're all
running and she knew several people having some personal things
going on in Egypt, and we got together at this
virtual tea party behind drink no tea.

I don't like tea.

It was so great when I thought I was running
late because I get the wrong link some kind of way.
And it was a lady talking about grief and her
dad died like two years ago. And I met her
at the at the pajama party, and she wrote a
couple of books, but I remember her anyway.

So she was doing her story. And but everybody that spoke.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Had almost the same thing going on, and the way
each person like uplifted everybody wasn't no animosity wasn't.

No, you know what, all that stuff that I don't
like that I will. You know, I'm a runner. I
get the running, and it just is a it's a
good feeling. It was a good feeling. But that and
she knew that, she knew that things were going on.

She see us running, she see us doing good, wonderful things.
But she said, let's stop a moment, and let's see
what's going on with everybody. And we stopped, and again
everybody shared. Everybody had good and not not none of
that baby stuff of oh poor baby dad. People had
ask ful things to say, things to offer resources, prayers.

Those kinds of things, you know what I mean, That
is what I think is so fair. And then they're
planning a karaoke night and to Shonda.

Is Able, she has a camp something, some kind of
camp organization for girls and she's gonna do her own
camp and a school, one of her schools is letting
her have it there. And I'm saying that to say,
we talked about the things that were pulling us down.
People lifted us up. And then you had someone with
some amazing news, you know, and everybody celebrated. Nobody was

looking well, I mean I guess they could behind those doors,
but you didn't get that feeling, you know what I mean.

Being around people who are jealous or like, oh that
ain't no big deal, like they said, Oh yeah, So
I'm saying that to say that I really like pretty
girls rock.

the community thing we did.

The summer party was the first thing that I did
with them, and I was just I was floored in
how it was an overnight event with all these women
one bath room.

And that was no argument no, and if it was,
they can't be so on the load that nobody do.
Then we had the.

The giveaway, the back to school drive, the only little
thing that went on, and is some people that came there.

To give away stuff, they were taking stuff and so
you know, they had to get them together. And you know,
in the midst of us doing our.

Symbolize, you know, sometimes you don't everybody have an idea,
and we had to kind of get that together. But
it wasn't one of those why we doing it that way,
but it it wasn't none of that. It was like, well,
I think we should try this, well that we try that,
or that didn't work, Let's try something different. And there
were certain people who came up and ended up being
the leaders, if you will.

People stood back and see, you know, they may be
a leader normally, but they that's how observe it.
