All right, welcome to this littlebonus extra of mysterious circumstances. And I'm
going to tell you right now,if you didn't listen to the last episode,
which was the Appalachian ghost stories andfolklore and stuff like that, then
you probably won't understand or appreciate thisinterview as much. This is the interview
that I referred to in that episode. It is with Shane who saw the

(01:14):
Brown Mountain lights not too long ago. I had him on to talk about
him talk about his experience, whathe saw and all that stuff. So
I hope you guys enjoy huge shoutout by the way to Chris Carlton for
hooking this interview up. It wasperfect timing for the episode. So I
hope you guys enjoy. Were youin the supernatural, like into it or

(01:37):
anything like that, like before thisshit happened. Before this happened, I
was leary about the supernatural, butI was like a firm believer in aliens,
right, so as a kids andsome ship in the sky that's like
stuck with me forever, and likeI'm like, for sure aliens are real,

(01:57):
but as far as like goes juststrained nomali that are unexplainable. I
was kind of weird because I hadnever seen anything like that before myself.
This just happened like a few weeksago. But by the way, shout
out to Chris Carleton, because ironicallyenough, I had been I'd been researching
a bunch of Appalachian folklores and legendsand like shit like this, and he

(02:22):
just hit me up on that messenger. Man, He's like, have you
ever heard of the Brown Mountain Lights? And I'm like, yeah, actually
I have, And he told meabout you, and I'm like, I
need to see if this dude's gonnatalk to me or not. So I'm
glad thanks for coming on the showand by the way, for all the
listeners, this is Shane, Sothere's that. Yeah. So so where

(02:42):
were you? And like this wasjust recently right, This was last weekend.
My girlfriend and I we had beenplaying this trip for my birthday.
She had got to this cabin. The cabin was in a town called Burnsville,
North Carolina. It was an Airbnb, beautiful little cabin. We looked
at the pictures of a bunch ofthem, you know, to decide where
we wanted to stay at and stuff, and this little spot, like the

(03:06):
vibe was just right. So Iwas like, hey, pull the trigger
on that, you know, we'llgo there. Neither of us had been
to this plus before. I'd everbeen to Burnsville, but I had been
to Hot Spring, which is likemaybe fifteen or twenty minutes up the road,
not too far. Me and myson there last year. So we
go to this cabin and when weget there it was night time. The

(03:27):
first night you go up a longlike a long dirt road pretty much just
up the side of the mountain. The first night we kind of just hung
out inside and we got the kindof late so we slept, and then
the next day we went to town. We went to Ashville and got some
supplies. The cabin was off rid, so there was no running water,
no electricity. It was a goodlittle drive to any kind of I guess

(03:52):
you would call it civilizations. Sothe next day we got up, we
went to town. When we gotback, like, we stay outside all
day. It's beautiful place, man, Like you're sack dab in the middle
of nowhere. There's a nice streamand runs alongside the road, a little
rail road and right in front ofthe cabin. So we hung outside all
day and had a fire out thereand stuff, and it's cool and light

(04:17):
time came around and we had alreadyplanned on staying up late because it was
supposed to see that night. Sothe winds picking up, you know,
it's leading ice covering the ground. So we're kind of just drinking a few
beers and you know, hanging outall nights, trying to wait from the
snow to come you know, hernice in a while. So it was

(04:39):
kind of it was kind of exciting. Right since it was off grid,
there was no plumbing indoors, sothere was an at house like sixty feet
from the cabin, like you know, down the driveway. So about three
in the morning, we decided like, hey, let's supposed to go out
there to the to the outhouse togetherand stuff and do our business and we'll
go back inside. We had alittle an led lantern, you know,

(05:01):
with this dimmer boy us, andso we walked. We walked down there
with the lantern. The wind's crazy, the sleet's crazy. Now I'll let
her go in first. I'm standingoutside with this laner and I'm the only
thing illuminated for lab and it's howmany miles? So I'm like, let
me turn this lantern off because Ifeel like a target right now. It's
like a hand or something. I'mjust gonna get me upending tore up right.

(05:25):
So I dimmed the lantern down. She comes out, I passed the
lantern on her. I used theouts for a quick and we walked back
up to the cabin and uh,the whole time the wind is just howling.
And uh. We get to theto the porch of the cabin and
I had row some cigars and I'mlike, you know what, I think

(05:45):
I'm gonna have a smoke. Youknow, it was really cozy inside cabin.
The little fireplace was gone, andit was kind of woman there,
So I was gonna stand outside coolWalker a little bit, so she agrees
to send on the porch with me. Light months cigar kind of just like
out talking and h let me addthat there was like very little vehicle traffic

(06:06):
up and down this road. Inthe morning there would be a car or
two. Um during the day therewouldn't be any traffic, and then in
the evening before the sun went down, there'd be another car too that would
come back by. So every timewe saw a car, we could super
excited because like it was just youknow, a ghost down out there.
There was no traffic, so we'dlike call it. We'd like call out,

(06:27):
like car are you If a carcame by, I let my cigar
and I'm like, hey, lookthere's lights down there. There's a car.
So we started looking and uh,you can see pretty good ways down
through this holler, I guess iswhat you call it, And down towards
bottom was like a red globe andI'm like saying, that's a car.
But it was coming towards us.I'm like, dangy backing up the road,

(06:50):
you know, so it keeps gettingcloser. But then we realized pretty
quickly, like holy shit, it'snot tail lights, you know, it's
just a it's just illuminate nation. So we're watching this globe come up the
hill. You know, it's probablytwo hundred yards aware farther, maybe three
hundred yards away at this point, but you can definitely tell that the light

(07:12):
is coming up the hill. SoI take a dreg office cigar and we're
kind of like, what the hellis that? Now? It kind of
came and went like it would fadeout very gently into into darkness, and
then it would just come back onlike it was a light switch being turned
on. You know, it wouldjust be bread all of a sudden again.
But whenever it would dim out andthen come back, it may not

(07:35):
always be in the same place itwas when it dimmed out. It might
be closer or to the left orto the right, farther. You know.
At this point we were like hyperfixated on the dam light and uh,
it's meandering its way up the hill. There's no certain pinpoint where the

(07:55):
light is coming from. It's notlike a light source. It's just it's
just a globe. The only wayondescribe it. There's this like old time
military flashlights that had the red limbsfor like my time, you know,
the exact same kind of light ofthose things put off that deep red illumination.
You know, it's that really deepred color. But it was covering

(08:16):
area varying between us, say thirtyfeet across and sixty feet across. But
it wasn't like a round shape oflight. It might it might be loblong
or just ever ever changing. Youknow. It wasn't like a circle of
life. It was just a blobof light kind of that it casts.
But it was a deep red,you know. But everything that lit up.

(08:41):
You could see the bark on thetrees, you'd see the rocks on
the ground, the boulders, youcould see brush files where they had like
push trees over down the hill andpile them up. It was lit up
plain to day. But it wasjust that red glow. And at this
point I'm asking her, I'm like, you see, like, am I
seeing this? I've only person yousee that too. She's like, no,

(09:03):
I for sure see it. Andshe's freaked out. So I didn't
have my thumb and she didn't haveher fun on her. The right inside
of the cabin and it was rightinside the door, but neither one of
us thought like, holy craft, let still get the phone. You know.
We're like just we couldn't stop lookingat it because it was so awesome.
Well, the glow would be groundlevel, maybe six feet up a

(09:26):
tree up, a tree trunk anddown, and it would let the ground
up, it would lie the treesup, it would and the area is
pretty heavily wooded, so you tellwhen the glow would be behind their trees,
and all the trees on on ourside of the blow would be dark
on on our side of them, but everything beyond those trees would be illuminated

(09:48):
where you can see it from thisday and this is this is three o'clock
in the morning. The wind that'sprobably twenty five or thirty miles an hour
to me, am, I eventhat canceled out, like any kind of
swamp gas series or anything that couldbe carried by the wind, it cars
that out because the wind is blowingcrazy hard. But the light is not

(10:09):
affected by the wind. It's kindof doing it something saying if that meants
like I said, the bathroom waslike sixty foot down the driveway and at
this point it's probably one hundred footon the other side of the bathroom.
So one sixty feet away and justilluminating a big area. But it's weaving
through trees. It's going up behindthe trees and into the canopy. You

(10:35):
know what all the branches are,and it's up in the canopy. It's
illuminating like ten or fifteen trees atone time. It's just a big it's
covering a pretty big area, andyou're just like stunned. We're like,
holy shit, what the fuck arewe even witnessing right now? Right So
I made a comment to her,I'm like, damn, I wonder how

(10:58):
close it's gonna get. Like it'ssteadily come towards us, maybe a few
miles an hour. It's kind ofmeandering its way. It's like it's not
moving fast, but it ain't movingslow. It was just kind of like
a steady pace. But it's coming, you know. I mentioned to her,
I'm like, damn, I wherehow it close is gonna come?
And then all of a sudden, when it goes away and it's gone the
woman, it totally goes out.You don't see it anymore. Then it

(11:20):
reappears and it's about thirty feet fromus and clearing. This's like in between
our cabin and a big old housestub on the hill. The people that
own the cabin owned the house onthe hill. Nobody was home there,
but it's it reappeared in that bigclearing. It was like way too close
for comfort, Like we got freakto hell out and we ran inside because

(11:43):
we didn't know what we're dealing with. I've heard of like ball, lightning,
flour and stuff, and like itdidn't look like ball. But my
brain told me like if this iselectricity, like I don't want it.
I don't want it to be nearyou because you know it might shock us.
You know, you don't know whatit is. You know what we're
dealing with. So we ran insideand this is where it gets really weird.

(12:05):
So we immediately go inside. Weclosed the door, lock it,
and we're looking out the window andthe windows are really clear, Like I
have a bunch of videos from atrip where like thirty and forty gear at
a time, or walking along thecreek bed right in front of the cabin,
and we're like filming through the windows. You can see extremely well.
We're looking through the windows to seethis, to see if we can see

(12:26):
it outside. It was it wasa pitch, like, man, it
was like nothing was there there,so we didn't see anything. We're kind
of just looking and I sat downon the edge of the bed and she
sat in the chair. Nobody reallysaid anything. We're kind of just like
being founded at this point, likekind of freaked out, kind of curious,
but nobody's anything for a minute, you know, maybe thirty minutes.

(12:50):
There was no conversation. It waskind of just like the hell did we
just witness? Well? I spokeup and was like my exact time was
like that's high strangeness, Like thatis something unexplainable and I kind of want
to know what it is. Wasas soon as I brought that up,
all of a sudden, it's likethis extremely fast tapping. The cabin's smallest

(13:15):
tiny house, so like maybe fifteenfeet by fifteen feet is the footprint of
this cabin, maybe slightly bigger. But the wind was howling and stuff if
twigs or branches like the roof, you would hear them, and it was
man noise. But as soon asI mentioned the lights, all of a
sudden, there's this extremely rapid tappingall the way around the perimeter of this

(13:39):
can. Like it's really fast, like all the way around in the span
of the tapping went all the wayaround the cabin, and then we're both
super fucking freak out right. Imean, I don't see stuff in my
lifetime and like, don't a wholelot scare me, freak me out,
but sincerely freed me to hell out, and we're just like, holy shit.

(14:03):
So we cut the MusicOn and triedto make the best of the situation
where I didn't want my girl freakedout. We had zero service, so
if something was to happen, like, we couldn't have called anyone. So
I'm just it's like, let's turnthe music on. Let's let's kind of
just chill, you know. Sowe sat there for a little while,
we talked about it. So weheard the tag and about an hour later.

(14:26):
The first sighting was at three o'clock, so about four or four fifteen
or so in the morning, Ihad to go outside and go peace.
So I'm like, I'm not goingto the outhouse, but I'll walk to
the end of the porch and I'lltake it with a porch or whatever and
I'll see it get again. Soshe stayed inside. Then I go outside,
I go to the edge of theporch. The wind is still kicking

(14:48):
pretty heavily. The porch is fosinglike this pretty narrowly where I do my
business, and I'll look down thehill again and you can't see anything because
it was pitch black out. ButI thought to myself, I wonder if
I can see this thing again.Damn it. As soon as I thought
that to myself, about a hundredyards away, it comes to glow again,

(15:09):
and I'm a cold ship. SoI watched it until it got like
just beyond the out house, likesixty feet away. And once it got
that close with me out there bymyself, I kind of just about face
and the cost up the steps intothe cab, and I had like crazy
feeling where you get chills up theback of your smid, like somebody watching

(15:30):
you kind of. So I ranback inside like super freaked out. I
told her, I'm like, ohmy god, I saw it again,
you know, holy crap. Forthe for the rest of the night,
we did not go back out.Last month, we man, it was
just the crazy thing to me sitlike the glow, if it makes sense.
It was like kind of sentient, like it knew we were there because

(15:54):
it came from a long distance awaydirectly to where we were, and if
we spoke about it, it wouldreact. It's sure, dude, did
you decide to research it afterward andkind of look it up and see if
anybody else had seen that shit?So here's the deal. Like, I'm
from South Carolina, so I frequentthe Applatch Mountains or whatever, you know,

(16:18):
maybe two or three times a year. And h I'm super big into
like old South history and full floorand it's like that. So prior to
this trip, and prior to thetrip, me and my son took the
mountains last February, like not thispast figure, but the one before.
I had knew about the brown Mountainlights and the movie about him, but

(16:41):
the movie kind of portrayed him toaliens. But I had knew about it.
And when me and my son wentto the mountains last year, I
kind of joked with him about like, oh, you know, he's a
little kids. I was kind oflike trying to give him this duok,
you know, But I had Ihad heard of them before, but I
had never seen them. And sowe saw that stuff on Saturday night.

(17:02):
Sunday, we get up and wekind of hang around we come through there
at the cabin, we kind ofstayed inside all day Sunday and then did
not go outside that dark Sunday night, and then Monday morning we got up
in left. So the whole timewe were at the cabin we did not
have service. So Sunday morning,we get up, we go to Asheville,
North Carolina, to have lunch, and then we're gonna come back home
to South Carolina that morning. Sowhen we got to Asheville and sat down

(17:27):
to eat, pulled my phone outand I just like googled like a map
of North Carolina and was trying tosee where we were in relation to Brown
Mountain. And we were actually onthe freaking Brown Mountain Ridge and didn't even
know it. So Burnsville like Burnsville'slike if you're looking at the map,

(17:48):
Burnsville to the lift, there's anall town called Lynnville where they set a
bunch of signs at and then tothe right of Blennville is like actionable Brown
Mountains. So we were probably withthen I would say five or ten miles
of actual Brown Mountain that the wholearea is called the Brown Mental Ridge,
and there's been sidings all through that. So when I when I seeing everywhere,

(18:11):
I was like, holy crap, that's gotta be what we saw.
You know, there's no other explanationfor it. But it was us man
like the fact that the wind wasblowing crazy enough to like, you know,
have the trees super swaying, butthe light was not affected by the
wind. So if it was aswamp, gas or something that that was
not the case for sure. Doesit make you want to go back to

(18:32):
see if you'll see them again?Or you just like kind of full on
that now? No, hell, dude, Like I've already planned getting a
tattoo of what I saw. I'mum, so I'm like, dude,
I'm like, dude, that's themost amazing thing I've ever whished with my
two eyes, like that tattoo. So I'm like it, I'm gonna get

(18:53):
a tattoo of it, just likecomraded, I guess. The Tuesday after
we got acts to work in ourbreak, I called the league that we
were in it. I told herlike, hey, thanks for having miss
cabin. We really appreciate you lettingto sit there. You're gonna tak them
crazy, but this is what wewitnessed. Have you ever seen anything like
that there. This woman, she'sa little older, turned her husband.

(19:17):
They'd owned the big house on thehill cabin for a little while. She
was like, we haven't been therelong, and we certainly haven't been outside
well after dark. So she waskind of freaked out. She's super excited
about it, but she said, man, if I would have witnessed that
ball still up there, She's like, I probably sell my place and moved.
I tried to explain it her, like it was scary, but it

(19:38):
didn't really feel threatening. It movedaround very gently. But what was scary
was the fact that it seemed tobe reactive to us talking about it.
That's what really freaked me out.And I told the woman. I was
like, hey, you know,I would really like to come back and
stay at your cabin and try andget this on camera, like, you

(20:00):
know, come prepared and have myfollow me every time I go outside.
And I want to try and getthis on film because all the pictures I've
seen of it online stuff, they'reall like really grainy, really old photographs,
and uh, I want to tryand catch it on something that'll actually
like pick it up really well, because I mean, if you had him
on camera like you got something. It's it's extremely interesting phenomena, you know.

(20:23):
So I'm planning on going back maybeApril, sometime in April when spring
time. Yeah, I'm definitely,I'm definitely a true I'm not. It
didn't scare me bad enough the world. I don't want to see it again.
Like now, I'm like, I'mabout to make this my life purpose
to figure saying out because people havereports seeing it since like the seventeen hundreds.

(20:45):
Yea, there was the Cherokee Indiansup there and another Indian try I
can't really remember right now, butthey had a big battle on Brown Mountains
and the Indians will see the glowand they would the Indians thought that that
was like the spirits of people killedin battle. And then in eighteen hundreds

(21:07):
early nineteen hundreds, during I guessslavery and things of that nature, the
story goes that it's a slave that'scoming up out of the grave. The
slave master win hunting and never returned. So the slave comes out of the
grave with the lantern, is outlooking all night for a master. So
and it kind of felt like itcould have been either of those scenarios,

(21:27):
like it's definitely something going on.It didn't feel to me like it was
a nature phenomena. It feel likeit was just some mysterious, naturally occurring
thing. It definitely felt like itwas more to it than what we know
as people and scientists and geologists. You know, it's more to it than

(21:49):
that pretty badass though, what didh Does your girlfriend want to go back
or did she? Is? Shelike nope, I don't want nothing to
do with this shit, man.She she's not as like a gun before.
She is going to go back withum. I think when we go
back, we're going to pick someof her friends with and stuff, because

(22:10):
we we all them the story andthey're all like, holy crap, you
know, like they're not skeptical, you know, but they were just like,
damn, that's the crazy shit.Hell yeah, let me go back.
It's probably me to be a fewof us. I'll be honest,
man. The part about the fuckingtapping, like the knocking around the fucking
perimeter the cabin probably would have freakedme out more. And it was just

(22:36):
real fast, like around the outside, just real fast around the whole place.
So the cabin is on the sideof a very steep hill. So
you know, when they when theybuild something like when they build a structure
on a hill like that, thebackside of the structure will we will be
ground level and the front side ofthe structure has like blocks or poles the

(22:56):
level it out and support them.So the front of the cabinet you're standing
in front of it, the baseof the boys and everything, it's probably
a foot above your head or soif you're you know, like an advertised
person, but it's maybe fifteen ortwenty feet per side of the cabins per
spare. It was just a reallyfast tap, like if I had to

(23:19):
guess, it would have been likethree to five tap per side of the
cabin, if that makes sense. But it started at one side and went
all the way around the cabin inthe span of like two seconds. And
it was very pronounced. It wasn'tlike the stick that it had been falling
on the roof from the wind.It wasn't acorns falling. It was just

(23:40):
a really rapid tap around the bottomof the cabin. So I had hosts
on Reddit about the experience on anapple Acian subreddit, and a lot of
the local to like, hey,fyi there's more to the hill than you
think, and don't ever go outsideafter and that freaked me out. Like,

(24:00):
you know, a lot of peoplethat have lived there their whole lives,
you know, they were told growingup, don't go outside after dark.
Yeah, man, there's there's moreto the Appalachian Mountains than people realize.
But I don't I don't know thatanybody will ever get to the bottom
of it and be able to explainit. It's just it's magic, man.
They they They've always felt special tome anyway, now, Like then

(24:22):
the mountains are like a nice placeto go. And but after witnessing that,
after witnessing all of this, forsure, one thousand percent, like
varied more to the mountains than werealize. You know, that's a badass,
man. That's pretty much what I'vebeen reading. Man. I've been
reading all kinds of fucked up storiesabout just the moon eight people and shit

(24:45):
like that, and and then theblack Dog stories, and she'll like that.
I'm like, what the fuck?Man? The stories. It's like,
the episode alone is probably going tobe like an hour and a half,
but it's like, I could fucksomebody couldn't make an entire podcast just
on Appalachian Mountain stories and legends andfolklore and sightings, and dude, the

(25:11):
Brown Mountain lights was. I thoughtit was more interesting than any of them
because it spans back so fucking long, like three hundred years, and like
at a certain point in time, like in the early nineteen hundreds, they
had a bunch of scientists. Ithink it was like early twenties or like
two or nineteen nineteen somewhere around there. They had like all these scientists go

(25:34):
out there and they're like, well, it's the lights from the locomotives and
shit, and it's like that's cool, bro, But the shit's been going
on for two hundred years before that, you know, So like that does
not explain shit. When I postedabout it online, all the people that
were applying to those, they're kindof hopophasizing, well, maybe you were
seeing the glow from like an illegalmarijuana grow operation, or maybe you were

(25:59):
seeing a drone or something. AndI'm like, look, dude, it
wasn't like led lights from a froma weed grow up or something, and
it wasn't a drone because a droneit would have been impossible for anyone to
fly drone. Those whims and thelight that it casted, you know,
the lights up in the treetops andthe canopies and in the branches. I
mean, a drone would have beenwiped out if that was it wasn't somebody

(26:23):
that was messing with us. Ustoo going outside to go to the restroom
was probably the only two people onthe whole hill that were outside at that
point in time. You know,it was acular, Dude, I don't
always to say. Man, besides, I gotta go see it again,
you know what I mean. That'spretty much where I'm at with it,
dude. Like this summer, I'mgonna be I got some a live show

(26:45):
out in Buffalo, New York inJuly, and it's like, man,
it's like I kind of want tohead south, like a couple of months.
It'll probably be fall about time whenI go down there, but I
just I want to see that shipbecause I've been reading so much about it
and there's so many stories, man, And it's the light that you were

(27:06):
saying, like resembles it sounds likebecause they used to say, you know,
it was either the native women lookingfor their sons and fucking husbands and
shit with torches, and then thisI heard the slave story as well,
and I'm like, when you weredescribing it, it's like, man,
that sounds like a fucking torchlight, you know, just lighting up everything around.

(27:30):
But it's like it's so bright youcan't see anything behind it. Really,
I don't know, man, that'sfunny awesome. If I were to
like imagine a lantern, like areally well lit lantern going through the trees
and stuff, yeah, it resembledthat, you know, maybe a torch.
It was very similar to the lightif you had, if you had

(27:52):
a bonfire going the kind of glowthat a bonfire, like a like an
outdoor fire would have put off towhere it's just everything's illuminated in that really
warm color, you know what I'msaying. It was like that, but
there was no flicker to it.It was just all equally distributed deep red
illumination about like multiple lights. Sometimesit never presented itself to us in more

(28:22):
than one place at one time.It would just be a big, vast
glow. It was big enough towear if it was in front of a
home, like if it if itwent right in front of a house,
it would it would have illuminated thewhole front of the house. It was
a pretty big fit, but itwas kind of oddibly shaped. It wasn't
around spread or it kind of justkind of just weaved and flowed through the

(28:45):
trees and stuff. It was verystrange. But it was the same color
red. Like if it was pitchblack out outside and somebody was like standing
on the brake pedal of a carthat red, it would just be brightly
illuminated. That's how it was.It was very strange. Am is your
girlfriend gonna go back out there withyou in April? Then? Or is
she? I mean, I knowI already asked that, but like,

(29:07):
is she as eager? I guessI could I should say, yeah,
I think I think she's eager.Um, her and I are a little
bit different than the sin of likewhat gets us tired up? You know
what I'm saying, Like she doesn'tdo carry, she doesn't do strange.
But like I told her, I'mlike when we were inside the cabin,
we say me personally, even afterthe tapping, the tapping was very range.

(29:32):
But if we're inside the cabin andthe doors flocked, like obviously no
one's gonna get him there and getus. You know what I'm saying like,
yeah, for sure, I feltsafe there. I didn't lose any
sleeve there. I want to goback to the very same place. It's
just strange, man, Like,I've got to see it again. I
don't want to go the rest ofmy life without seeing it again, because
I feel like, sincerely, ifwe were to go back tomorrow and spend

(29:55):
the night, if I went outside, I know wholeheartedly that I would see
it again. No shit, Likeit wanted to be seen. I already
knew about it already going I justdidn't know where. That's where we were,
you know. And so then onceI saw it, I'm like,
I'm like hell excited about it.You know. I just feel like it
wants to be seen. It kindof gave me chills when you're saying,
yeah, man, it was reactingto us talking about it, It's like

(30:18):
what the fuck? Man? Like, I mean, as it was coming
up the hill, you know,we watched it for a good four to
five hundred yards away, you know, way down the hill, and the
whole time we watched it, likeif we ever vocalized, you know,
what it was doing or something,it would it would blink out, like
it would either completely disappear all ofa sudden, very roughly, or it

(30:40):
would fade out and then reappear acrossthe dirt road or buy the creek bed
or up in the tree like itwould just it probably flickered out or faded
maybe six or seven times before itgot really close that last time we haul.
Since I'm invested in this ship, here's the deal, dude, if
you get video, fucking let meknow because I want to see this shit.
Dude, you got my phone numbernow, because like I want to

(31:03):
see this ship and I'm gonna gothere too, man, because I've after
reading about it. It's just theythere's just so many stories for like hundreds
of years, man, and it'slike nobody can technically explain it away scientifically,
and it's like they always throw outa bunch of theories and shit,
you know, and it's like yeah, but really, and like the thing

(31:26):
I always tell people, like becauseI'm a big paranormal guy, supernatural guys
shit like that, and it's likeI grew up in a haunted house,
man, So like when I gostay at locations and shit like that for
overnight or I see or get likesome audio, people are like, oh
you can't fucking believe that shit, you know, like you must have been

(31:48):
out of it if you saw someshit. And it's like the part that
pisses me off that I always telleverybody, if you have three people that
fucking see a fucking murder, theycan legitimately go in the court of law
and fucking testify and say they witnessedthis ship and put a fucking dude in
the electric chair or whatever else haveyou. But when it comes to paranormal

(32:08):
shit, oh that's total bullshit. They're just crazy. And it's like you
can't have your cake and eat ittoo here, Like, I don't know,
man, that's fucking wild. ThoughI love it. I get into
me too. Man. If Ihad went up there and saw that by
myself and then came back home andbe like, y'all ain't gonna believe this

(32:30):
shit, you know, and thentold the story, people would think I
was freaking crazy or like like,oh, you were up there tripping,
you know, Like, but whenI saw it, and I was like
nudging her like hey, you seeit, and she saw it too,
and she's seen everything that I've seen. That's solidified it to me, Like
I'm not crazy and not having tricksplayed on me with my eyes in the

(32:52):
dark, Like, this is somereal shit that's going on. So I'm
just very thankful for the experience tobe able to see it, and I'm
thankful someone else saw it as well, because if I was the only witness,
it might be harder for people tobelieve. But what did your son
say about it? So he didn'tgo on the trip with us, he
said, with his mom, Butuh, I told him about it,

(33:15):
and now he's all like, Ikind of want to see you, you
know. He he's seven, Sooh yeah, man, you get stuck.
Man, that's pretty sweet. Man. I got like two boys,
and I know one would be totallydown for that ship and then the other
one just like probably wouldn't give afuck. He'd be like, oh yeah,
whatever, right, you know. It's like that's fucking cool. Though.

(33:37):
Man, does your girlfriend want towant to get on and like say
anything or about it or anything likethat, Well, we got you.
She was gonna be on the onthe deal too, but about seven o'clock
she hit me up and says thatshe felt like he was coming down the
strip throat, so she was gonnasay, hell, yeah, man,

(33:58):
do you want to say hi tohi to anybody or give any shout outs
or anything. Man, Man,So shout out to Chris Carlon for winking
us together. I mean, Chrisis one of my best friends. And
that's the follow dude if I everseen one. So thank you for linking
us up and letting this happen, because man, I wanted to tell everybody
about it since since I've seen it. You know, dude, that's badass.

(34:20):
Well I tell you what, there'sgonna be a bunch of people that
hear hear your story. So yeah, I love people chime in that it's
possibly seen it as well. Youknow, Ever since I started reading about
it like a month ago, I'mlike, man, I want to go
see this shit so fucking bad.And I like got on man plea reddits
and shit like that and was listeningto all or reading all these stories and

(34:42):
it's like, man, fucking allkinds of people have seen this shit.
What was kind of crazy to methough, Like all the people that have
posted like, you know, shittyvideos of it on YouTube over the years
or photographs on Google. It's alwayslike it to me. It always looks
like all lightning on video and onphotograph. It's always just an orb,

(35:04):
like a pretty good sized orb thatwhizzes around the hills and through the trees
and stuff like that. But this, you know, this was not an
orb. It was not a ballof light. It was just a big
pasting of illumination. So I'm kindof wondering, like, does it manifest
itself in different ways? Does somethingdifferent, you know, like it could

(35:24):
be. I'm sure. I'm likeninety percent sure that what I saw was
the brown mountain lights. It's justit just didn't look like the pictures I've
saw. I'd much rather see itin person too, man, And like,
dude, I hope you see itagain. Man, set up some
go pros or fucking something. Dude, guess it's man, Hell yeah,

(35:45):
alright, may be well prepared nextsong. Fuck yeah, dude. I'm
fucking excited. Man, I'm excited. And I didn't even see the ship.
And I'm like I want to though, because I live for this kind
of ship. Man. It's like, don't know, Hopefully in a month
or two I'll have some footage Ican send you, and you know,
maybe we'll get a little bit deeperinto the rabbit hole than it is.

(36:07):
The Brown Mountain Life. You know, absolutely, man, I'm totally down
for that, Shane. Man.I appreciate you coming on dude and telling
the story. Man. Thanks forhaving me. Man, it's the pleasure,
oh man, the pleasure is allmine, dude. I love hearing
about this kind of stuff. AndI'm one of those people. I don't
I'm not like a huge skeptic, like there's shit out there we can't explain,

(36:30):
man, And you know it happensevery day. So hell yeah,
my brother keep in touch. Yeah, definitely, you too, man.
You take care of yourself, youtoo, buddy. All right later
