La literatura que nos dejó los viajeros victorianos que visitaron las islas Canarias finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, son un espejo en el que podemos mirarnos, aunque a veces las imágenes que obtengamos están en distorsionadas. Son el reflejo de una época y dos sociedades distintas que se encontraron y que, gracias a la magia que encierran los libros, forman parte de la memoria colectiva del archipiélago canario.
