are Australian. Are British recap theshow? Well, I'm just getting into
it. So you get to followmy journey as I discover this fun show
called Neighbors and I get to meeta couple of cast and watch those episodes

(00:25):
where audio and videos. Listen thosevideo Go ahead and go over to your
favorite podcasts streaming service and listen tous. But I'm James lot Junior or
your host, and I'm learning allabout Neighbors. I'm just getting started.
I'm gonna take you step by stepby step and eventually get into the recaps
of the shows of the week likeI do other shows. But I'm here
in America. For those who don'tknow me, I'm here in America,

(00:45):
and I do other show recaps forAmerican shows here like Bull and The Beautiful
Young and The Restless Bone Beautifully byNo. Because Australians, that show is
a show show. In Australia, you might know that one we have General
Hospital Days, Real Lives. Iam a fan of teen novellas from some
of the Latin American countries. ButI'm also a fan of EastEnders over in
England. I've been a fan ofthat show for thirty five years, so

(01:07):
and Neighbors was not something that wascompletely foreign to me, So I did
know of it. Back in theeighties and nineties. I would hear about
it because I'm an Anglo file I'malso the Love Things Australia, so I
didn't hear about it. But onAmazon Freewe they have all they have the
app, they have every they have. Okay, so on Amazon Freewe they
have every season from twenty fifteen,so I go back the last ten years.

(01:33):
I literally have it. You canwatch you just go back and watch
them. Everyone's almost like twenty threeminutes he was going there and just like
go in there and watch them.So they have twenty fifteen all the way
up to twenty twenty three, andthen of course the new one and twenty
twenty four, but they are intheir row. And also they show either
the ones in real time you sothe newer ones they want real time.
You're like, oh, you watchedit this time, watch it at that

(01:55):
time. Here in America's Amazon freewey. So what I there's an app?
It was like, how do youdo this? You can go if you're
an ad you go to the appstore and get where we're app store,
play store, you guys have andyou can download Amazon Free for free.
Go there and download it and thereyou go and you can and you watch
your shows for free and there's nocost. There's also I'm trying to learn

(02:15):
how to do this. There's anthey say I can take my Amazon FREEV
and leak it to my Apple TVPlus. So I'm trying to figure that
out. I'm gonna'll let you knowif I figure that out, we get
that going. So just so thatthat's how you can watch it. It's
I mean, it's it's it's.I mean. There's all these streaming services,
some of them that they're really good, right okay, and Amazon freeb

(02:37):
For me. My first introduction tothat was a show called Primo, which
is still lot of it's really good. They didn't get a second season,
but I love that show. Myfair shows there are someone to chieve all
kind of stuff on there, socheck it out. But listen. But
this is the Neighbors after show,so let me not not let me,
not digress. So you said,it's all my first one. So I
watched this thing called The thirty sevenYear and it's at the end of season

(03:02):
twenty twenty, the season for theyear twenty twenty three, and the title
is thirty seven years sixty seven debtsfifty three weddings and goes into that,
and I got to learn the firstbasics. Now, you know, learning
a new soap opera. I haven'tdone in ten fifteen years, a new

(03:25):
soap opera. I mean all asI know, all the stoke, I'm
normal, you know whatever with them, so I'm actually learning. So so
please forgive me the next four orfive episodes. When I'm chin Eastern names
and some of the accents, I'mlike, okay. Now, I used
to watch Australian shows like Kathy Kimat my show, so I mean something.
And I noticed that depending on wherethey are, the accents are different.

(03:45):
Some of them sound for me smoothand say I hear it or whatever.
Someone're like, okay, what isthat? So I have to listen
to it just because and I knowany Australians watching this, I have an
accent to you. I know, idea I'm California. So I no idea,
so, but that makes just moreexciting first first glances at the show.
It is beautifully filmed. It doesn'thave the feel of a soap opera.

(04:11):
To me. It feels like aregular TV show. It's kind of
funny the way they film it.It's you know, and so this is
why I listen. I learned somemore stuff I didn't really know. I
took notes down bes I got justyou know, it's an area, yes,
I guess of Melbourne called it Aaronsboroand it consists of six houses on
Ramsey Street. Now here's what's funny. I didn't realize it was a cul

(04:33):
de sac. And for me andAmericans in the eighties and nineties, we
had not Landing. I don't knowif any Australians watching this what not Slanding
was. It's a spin off ofour show Dallas. I'm sure you know
that one. JR. Ewing butNot Slanning was one of my favorite shows,
and I do the Not Standing aftershow. I had no idea that
this show had basically as well. It's about their neighbors, the same kind

(04:57):
of setup as Not Standing, butit's different. I was like, oh,
got it very interesting Sea Cota secand this and this retrospective is like
twelve or fourteen minutes long. Isay watch it first. It gives you
a full picture. See. Iknew of the show off and on because
I heard Margot Robbie was on it. I was, I was. I'm

(05:19):
a big kind of a no fan, So I had Jason Donovan, so
I knew in the eighties she wasCharlene and the whole I knew. I
saw snippets of all that. Andon this show I will do some look
back at certain hot moments and talkabout him on the show, so the
folks who are Australian get an Americanperspective of watching him, and Americans get
it just perspective of something they maynot know. But it started nine eighty

(05:42):
five. I was sixteen years old. The two families were the Robinsons and
the Ramsay. So I met StephenDennis, who is very charming and he's
he's really kind of cute and heplays Paul Robinson. So he was on
from the first day. But thoseare two main families. Then then later
the Kennedy's and the rod Wells becamemain families and they're Also in the Stephan

(06:03):
Dennis actually narrates this great voice.Uh. And we mentioned wedding. He's
like, well, six of themwere my height, so there he had,
so obviously he's married six times. They also talk about Kyle and Susan
Kennedy and it was fun seeing thesame actors throughout the years, and I
was like, oh, yeah, that's it. Throughout the years they just

(06:24):
get older, they come back, they leave or whatever, and it's like
it's it's there's something to be saidabout the same actors playing the same roles
and just and growing with them. They're in there just something about I do
love it. There's something about thatand all their troups tribulations. There was
Tony and Sonya. There was atragedy at the end of their relationship that

(06:46):
I was started crying watching them onthe beach and she was dying and the
kids are playing. I was like, oh my god, I didn't even
see the whole story. I startedgetting teary eyed. And now we got
Tony and Melanie, so I'll getto that a little later. I had
to meet the who plays Jane Harrisand she started out as a teenager.
Oh I got see. I meanI met her now and seeing a Tino
is a trip in a love theeighties, love it, and that I

(07:09):
didn't realize Guy Pearce was about thiswas really his thing. We came from
like Kyima Nugge did. He playedMike Young They showed him younger to I
was like, oh, they're reunitedas later on. Then there's Terisa,
so I could tell might be oneof my favorite character is coming up because
she's funny and fun and I don'tknow what your character gets. So she's

(07:30):
running Lassar's Hotel, which is runby Paul while Robinson and they're together.
They've had problems off and on,and then just sort of the things they
showed is that Paul has some otherkids, and then he had two other
sons amongst his kids, Davis andLeo. Davis is gay, apparently got
married to an Aaron, but thenalso had a kid by someone else and

(07:56):
the mom died. Abigail now isgrowing up with our her mother. I
toy Sophie. Then of course Imet Georgie Stonehumm and I'm Namaworth already,
and that's played by McKenzie. Thisplace, she plays McKenzie and she's trance
but she was the first person andI guess on TV over there and I
got to do like a gender affirmingsurgery storyline on the show. And I

(08:18):
know you if you just for Americans, if you just google her whatever,
she's amazing. She's an advocations allkind of stuff. Relationship with this guy
named Hendricks looks very good, tragic, the whole thing. And so that
she's good too. And so it'sfunny. Is so this is the show
and you know they the show hadedited it. Theyd ran his course was

(08:41):
off for maybe a year or twoand then it came back. So this
is a new chapter, new season. And a couple of scenes I was
watching. I was watching one sceneof Just One. I can't tell what
episode it was, but I was. I was laughing because it was about
these kids and McKinsey was part ofit about Trevor the rescue dog recently.
You guys don't have a story however, but he was tearing up stuff and
there's a little bit of comedy inthere. There is. It's the show

(09:05):
doesn't feel I mean it doesn't.It doesn't look like our American soaps.
It doesn't look like EastEnders, andand it has its own look. I
like the way it's filmed, andthere's a lot of comedy in its underlying
comedy and humor, which I justdidn't expect from the things I was seeing.
But they haven't draw it to you. It's like they asked the drawers.
So I'm looking forward to delving intothe show past and present to see

(09:26):
what I get to get to watchon here. But I'm telling you it's
called thirty seven years. I said, correctly, thirty seven year recap.
And so I was offer you goahead and check that out and you take
a little int introduction, use yourGre's you a nice feel about what's going
on apparently, like I said, like one of my American soaps. It's

(09:46):
just there's lots of stuff going behindthe scenes. There's stuff happening in the
streets, having stuff in the houses. It's such a it's such a a
smart idea just about the neighbors. It's you and your neighbors and what happens.
And I need to follow them asthey get older and grow and have
kids. Those kids get older andthey grow. It's very cool. So

(10:07):
I'm very excited to get started intothis, to this series. But that's
my introduction. So far, Iwill be releasing more episodes talking about different
things with the show and doing somerecaps. But yeah, so follow so
follow me longest journey well America andAmericans follow me, and then the Australians
follow me too, and so youcan maybe laugh or comment and some of

(10:28):
you guys have comment are ready. Thanks for the great comments, okay,
James, Oh my god. AndI will see and I'll let you know
as I go along. As Iwatch this show. I'm very excited to
cover and this would have not happened, seriously, wasn't for the daytime chemmis
and them nominating you guys getting chenominations and it worked whatever whatever, I
didn't even know it was aera inAmerica. It worked. It got my

(10:50):
attention and I am here for it. I'm James, and you follow me.
Come follow me at James Lodd Jr. And I'm hoping to get more
guests on the show at continue thiswhole process. So thank you so much
and I'll see you next time.
