(00:02):
Hello everybody, it's James Latching. You're American Neighbors fan. Hi here,
I'm JILJ Media. I've been comingon here and as I'm getting to know
Neighbors, learning all this stuff. It's a lot to learn taking in new
soap, but I'm enjoying it.I want to first thank everybody who's been
just giving me such warm welcome tothe show. I mean, the fans
(00:23):
have been so sweet to me andare telling me on other shows chance I
love your Neighbors podcast. I'm justI'm so like, thank you for enjoying
this is It's a whole new soap. I have lots to learn, but
I'm really really enjoying it. Andup and one of the my phone,
(00:46):
I thought I turned it off. It's crazy Americans at our phones. How
you guys are in Australia. There'sa storyline that on several levels as a
writer, I love the storyline,as a as a as a person who's
gets to the show. It's veryinteresting and I'll see it. It's the
(01:06):
way they're treating their queer characters onNeighbors. It's very different than we do
it in American self vibits, andit's better. I have to give praise
to to neighbors and the writers andthe producers and the actors. I am.
I'm finding out a lot about theirtheir gay and lesbian storylines. And
(01:29):
of course I said, I metGeorgie Jones, Georgie Stone, which I
love her following her stuff. Butlike, I'm loving the fact that they
are giving their characters a wide rangeof story, which I think that's all
in America. We want for art, we want for representations. Just give
(01:49):
us a story, the gay partlypart of it, but like, just
give us a story that can getyou sucked in right and and and and
wanting to see what happens. Sothis particular story is very fascinating. And
the guys are hot. Austrange arehot even though already. But the guys
I'm gonna mention the two Mats MatthewBecker and Matt will Will Leslie Wilson.
(02:15):
Oh my god, I want tomake sure I say the right now always
says their names. Frankly, there'stwo matsuh Matt Wilson, Yes, Mitt
Wilson, who play Aaron and Loganon the show right now. Both hot
hot hot hot hot hot hot hothot, so if you don't, if
you're not watching already in America, just watch some hot man. Watch those
(02:35):
two. But the storyline is creepy, it's sad, it's hopeful, there's
twisting turns, and again it's morethan we get for any queer characters in
America ourselves. So here's here's thebasis. For those you don't know,
(02:57):
and those of you who already know, I'm just some nice a recap for
you. I'm finding I'm watching stuffon the Neighbors YouTube channel, also on
Amazon free wee and Wednesday episode,so I'm watching this stuff and and I'm
learning along the way. So whatso the origin kind of is Aaron No
sorry represent h David who was originalwas original of the original. He was
(03:23):
a gig guard on the show.He was in the closet. David Sanaka
and his twin brother Leo came toten Leo straight came to town to find
their biological follow So that was thatwas the That was the kind of that
was the that's the start of their, uh their story, and they came
(03:44):
to town do that. And Iwas watching episodes of that and and uh
it was hot too, played byTakaya Honda makes some looking at the names,
right, you're hot too, youknow. I'm like he said,
all these people are were just like, I mean, it's it's yeah.
They tried to be the Illgerius sonsof Paul Robinson, who I got to
(04:08):
interview his portrayer, Stephen Dennis, who's so nice and great because King.
So they linked the boys to amajor family in the show on Ramsey Street.
So smart, totally smart smart.Lots of storylines in the see of
course, but but David's in thecloset a lot of it. Then he
(04:30):
then he meets up with Aaron who'son the show, and they fall in
love and there's a whole thing, and they eventually get married, eventually have
a daughter for Via. Seriously, there's a whole and then he actually ends
up dying. I'm gonna get intothat storyline another there's a whole other thing
about that, but yeah, heends up dying. It's the whole thing
(04:53):
there. So Aaron's raising a daughter, he's trying to get all his life
and this guy comes to town. This is why this is like, this
is so interesting because I'm thinking,i mean, women, you're like,
this is creepy. You're kind oflike rooting for him, feeling bad for
him. Logan comes to town.He used to he used to know they
were a long time ago, butDavid was in the closet, and he
(05:15):
had feelings for David. Think hewas obsessed with them on some level and
he and he was, he wasinto him, but David was in the
closet. So he heard of David'sdeath and they decided to come to town.
Now. First, people didn't noticeat first, Aaron didn't know us
at all. He didn't come totown and say, hi, eron,
I do David? Of course it'ssoap opera. Why would you? Why
(05:36):
would you even do that? Soso he just he comes to town.
So just getting to know Aaron andDavid's daughter, where they ared Dar's daughter
and Aaron and then suddenly begin afriendship. Well as time is progressive,
people are like some off with thisLogan dude, and like we're seeing a
(05:58):
few things too, and they're like, is this gonna end in like tragedy
or is this gonna end it?Or is he did or he's just really
this heartbroken person. And what's sointeresting is that there's this there's a scene.
I think it's Aaron already where whenLogan so it comes out, it
finally comes out that he knew andand so Logan comes clean with Aaron and
(06:25):
and tells him he goes yo,and it's like, yes, I kind
of was stalking him, so tospeak, but not for those reasons like
I was. I really did havefeelings for him, and I felt it
was like a love lost, alove that never happened, but he wished,
and he got to know Aaron atfirst thinking like and get closer to
David's memory kind of you know howit is, you got to love David
(06:48):
and I'm gonna get close to you. Kind of creepy, but I kind
of understand it. I know,I'm sitting there going I kind of understand
it. I said, that's whatThat's what great rama is, where you're
thinking, no, that's creepy, but then it's kind of like, well,
I kind of get it. Andand first Aaron as a friend again,
(07:09):
they're hot. It's mention there andthen but does so does Logan.
I'm like, this is the partthat you're kind of going. He claims
he's getting feelings for Aaron's is whereit's all sopp be goodness and messy because
you're like, is he getting feelingsfor Aaron? I'm si watching it going?
(07:30):
Or is it just because he representsDavid? Or is it like is
it true? Is it not true? Like? What's it's I mean,
like you just wouldn't be really wouldn'tit be so wrong if he did fall
in love, they did fall inlove, get together and they had David
in common? Is that a bad? Is that a? Is that a?
(07:50):
Is that necessarily a you know,a bad thing? I mean people
bond, I mean, in reallife, people bond over someone's death.
But of course, because he didn'ttell Aaron, there's obviously a sense of
betrayal. It's kind of weird.It's like it's it's weird. It's a
weird thing now I'm reading because hebasically I thought he was like basically no
(08:13):
hard feelings whatever last things I saw, it looks like there's something coming up
where I think and I'm looking I'mlooking online. I'm not sure so it
could be a spoiler about it.I don't know yet until I watch it.
Is airing an stick with Logan eventhough he knows all this stuff.
(08:35):
Because Melanie, especially another character wasreally hot in the case with this try
and that was kind of crazy. And then I mean, I'm reading somewhere
there's something that's going on with Aaron'shealth. It's Aaron's health, not sure,
(08:58):
so there's something on there. Butyeah, I'm seeing I'm looking online
right now looking it's like it's it'syeah, it's yeah, Sosie. This
is so creepy. It's loc It'slike, it's a little creepy. Matthew
Becker's hot. He's hot, he'shot hot. I'm like, just let
him all be together. But Ijust love that this is a storyline that
(09:24):
could be applied to anybody, notjust a gay coupling, or it could
be just to anyone, and ittranscends race, it transcends age. What
if you were kind of you feltyou were in love movie culture with someone
they die, You feel like youmissed out on a chance, so you
go to their ex but then theextras to you. Then you go to
(09:48):
the X or the widow or widowhow it is, and then you start
to feel something for them because you'rebonding over that. I mean, it's
I don't know, I think it'svery interesting. It's very very interesting.
So I'm curiously how this plays out, but the fact that I'm just so
proud of Neighbors for literally do astory like this, Why not do a
(10:09):
story and it's presented this the regularsoapy way that I just I wish the
American selves would do half of that. Now I'm big. Maybe I'm asking
for too much. I dont know, but thank you, Neighbors. I'll
be watching. I'll continue watching,of course, And so this is the
Neighbors after show. I'm I'm,I'm learning all about the shows. I'm
(10:31):
watching all episodes, watching new ones. I will be commenting on everything that
I see and here please feel freeto fill me in on stuff that I
don't know if you want underneath thecomments you're like James, you know about
this about Aaron or this about Loganor this about about David. Tell me
I'm I am. I am openears and open eyes everything, and I
(10:52):
will continue to let you know whatI see and think. Uh you follow
me and James Chin everywhere and hideeverybody out there and Australia who watch and
all my Americans are watching on Amazonfreebe that's where you can catch it.
