Tom and I discussed the global divisions we're seeing. And the crucial need for kindness and love during these turbulent times. He believes society sometimes needs to experience negative consequences to learn and move towards unity. We're witnessing a clash between old ethics of control, power and force, and a newer ethic of kindness, cooperation and caring. We agreed that technology, while beneficial, has also contributed to misinformation, creating challenges similar to the Industrial Revolution. We didn't have solid solutions, but recognized the urgency.
Tom emphasized individual responsibility in addressing global issues. He believes we must avoid contributing to the problem by staying calm, compassionate, and voicing our opinions constructively. Tom emphasized that critical thinking discerns truth from misinformation, and he acknowledged humanity's evolving state and its accompanying growing pains. We both feel that humanity is on the verge of a shift towards a more cooperative society, though the transition will be challenging. We agreed that unity and kindness are essential for navigating these times, and that ethical solutions are needed to address the spread of misinformation.
