Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into the NFL Opening Line Report Week fifteen. I
am Andrew Martin, joined as always by Teddy Covers. Getting
on the right side of some of these line moves
when a bended early, when in to bedded late, where
these both sides and totals are going throughout the week
and without further ado, Teddy Covers, Welcome on in, buddy.
How are you feeling this morning?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm doing good, Drew. We won again yesterday in the NFL.
It's been a real good run since. I mean, the
start of the season was a little bit slow. September
wasn't what I normally do in September. But since then,
I think sixty three percent counting every day, every play,
every day since the last week of September. So we're
making money for the clients, and that's what we try
to do. Two and one yesterday frustrating. I felt like
(00:40):
I should have gone three and zero and I left
out a couple of winners. Boy, I should have had
Carolina yesterday. I shouldn't have the guts to them, and
I'm supposed to have the guts to make that move.
That being said, I can't complain we won again. It's
been a good. It's been a good run. It's been
a good season. So their complaints, true, there's always complains
in a Monday morning, but not so money that we
can't overcome.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Hey, we've been doing this long enough, been in this
industry long enough, Teddy. When you're frustrated after a winning day,
you learn to take those towards the positive rout of things,
and we get we've got the Monday nighter here, just quickly, Teddy,
Cincinnati and Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
It is the Bengals minus five total of fifty here.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
We've seen some over money, but Bengals, Leana, what you know,
minus five is what it is on the road here,
anything quickly, Bengals and Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah. So I broke this game down on Wader Talk
today this morning. I broke it down on bet on
It last week. I have a client play on it
and you'll get it now for free because you're watching,
and I've given it away on a bunch of shows already. Yeah.
I'm on Dallas plus the points here and the market
has moved towards Dallas. There were mostly five and a
(01:53):
half since six is at the open. Now we're seeing
five as a prevailing number. We've seen a ton of
over money in this ballga. This is he's been a
dead knots over team. I understand why we're seeing over money.
That being said, you know this total opened as low
as forty four and a half. You're trying to bet
over fifty right now, even with CD Lambeck in the
lineup for Dallas. It's hard to make a profit when
(02:15):
you're getting four or five points the worst of it.
And that's what you're doing if you're playing the over
tonight's ball game.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
All right, guys, the quick look at the Monday nighter
and we got opening line report styles starting right now, Thursday,
December twelfth, kicking off the week fifteen card. It is
the La Rams San Francisco forty nine ers battle for California.
Here Teddy minus two in the hook that is the
Niners as the home favorite, forty eight and a half
being the total Rams at Niners Thursday Night Football.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
And you know the drill if you watch this show
every week, if you don't, your first time viewer of
the NFL Opening Line Report, I give out four sets
of numbers for every game. The first set is called
the look aheadline. Is the sumbedable numbers from last week
and a number of books put them out. I use
the Westgates super book numbers. I don't use a concent
this number on the look headlines. They just used the
Westgate Sewer book openers. They've been good to be over
(03:04):
the years, and I understand how their thought process thinks.
So we'll have the look Ahead line. I'll give you
my power rating number for these two teams. That's just
team a TMB home field, no situations facored into that.
I'll give you the opener from last night, and I
use a consensus opener. I track a whole bunch of
different books and give what I consider the consensus opener,
(03:25):
and then of course we'll talk about where the money
has moved from the opener into Monday morning. So force
its numbers for every games with the Rams and the
forty nine ers look Ahead line san Fran minus three
total forty seven my powering number Sandfran two and a half,
the markets open split last night two slash two and
(03:47):
a half and forty eight and a half the total.
Obviously we saw over money for that game after the
Rams wild shootout against Buffalo, and what have we seen
this morning? The forty eight and a half's have held
and we're seeing two and a half pretty much across
the board. So same as my powering number, a little
bit down from the look aheadline for this one, and
a lot of that's based on how good the Rams
(04:07):
offense look yesterday. I mean they went eleven for first,
eleven for fifteen on third downs, one for one on
fourth downs. They didn't turn the ball over, so you know,
they had the ball for more than seventeen seventeen minutes
more than Buffalo, ran eighteen more plays than Buffalo, blocked
a punt and got a touchdown off of that, and
needed every bit of that just to survive the game.
The defense was not good, to put it mildly, Sean
(04:30):
McDermott's quote after the game quote, they did, meaning the
Rams did a great job of controlling the line of
scrimmage on both sides of the ball defensively in special teams.
Neither were good enough to help us win this ballgame.
But it's worth noting a Rams team that at times
this year has been pushed around a little bit to
line of scrimmage. Bill's head coach said not yesterday, that
(04:52):
didn't happen San Francisco. Well, how about a first half
yardage In the first half against the Bears yesterday three
hundred and nineteen to four. They were up twenty four
to nothing at the break. Brock Perty was brilliant twenty
of twenty five, three to twenty five, two touchdowns, no picks,
yards per play. They finished seven point four yards per
play for San fran to three point one for Chicago.
(05:16):
This team had a team meeting on Saturday night that
apparently resonated with everyone. George Kittle. The message was we
needed to play with more of a sense of urgency
and played desperate because you hadn't really sensed that, and
they did Purty quote. I think we all just executed,
did our job and kept it simple. I think guys
weren't overthinking anything. Just whatever week was called, we trusted
in Kyle and executed. Fred Warner future Hall of Fame
(05:41):
linebacker quote. We just got back to being us. Honestly,
the product we were putting on the field the last
couple of weeks just wasn't us. We knew that we
had a great opportunity this week and come out at
home and right those wrongs and get back to playing
our style and do what we do best. It's worth
noting a team with running back injuries. No Mason, no
mccaff Garando. Garando came in yesterday, I had a great day,
(06:03):
and then he left in the fourth quarter with a
foot injury. They could be down to a fourth drink
back this week. San Fran has taken the early money.
San Fran did look good last week, and the Rams
certainly a team that has some defensive concerns. I would
not be surprised at all if this line moves to
three before kickoff. If you like the forty nine ers,
I bet them sooner rather than later.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Great analysis to kick off the week fifteen opening line report.
As we're turning the page here Sunday, December fifteenth, top
of the card, going down in rotation order four f
five four to five six Washington at New Orleans, we
are seeing the Commanders minus seven in the hook as
the road favorite here Teddy forty three being the total
Commanders at Saints. From the big easy.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Look aheadline here Washington minus three total of forty seven.
Then Derek Carr got hurt. My powering number with a
hurt Derek Carr, Washington minus five, the market's open seven
and forty three and now we're seeing seven and a
half out there. So the markets really high on Washington
(07:07):
or really low on the Saints, even when New Orleans
coming for a win, of course their manners coming off
a blow out win over Tennessee and a bye week.
A young team will see how they respond to that
particular situation. For the Saints, Derek Carr got hurt yesterday.
Jake Hayn kanan late, I don't know if we're going
to see Spencer Rattler behind QB and next week. Ratler
was inactive yesterday, but certainly for New Orleans, they found
(07:33):
a way to get a win. And look, four games left,
they're two games behind Tampa, they're one behind Atlanta. The
Saints are thinking that they can make the postseason. You know,
head coach Darren Rizzik, he keeps us in the mix.
We're down at the end of the year. It's the
middle December. When you're playing games that matter, that still
count and have a chance to affect the final outcome,
that's a big deal. Yeah, it's not that big a deal.
(07:58):
The Saints certainly tried to find ways to lose yesterday's game,
but made a play at the end of the block. Of
field goal. The Giants couldnt connect on their final drive,
But the last couple of weeks the Saints, I haven't
seen that. Back to the wall. We're gonna fight and
claw and scratch. They looked, let's just say, a lack
(08:19):
of energy at times ferner walls in recent weeks, which
is certainly a concern and perhaps explains the difference between
my powering number for this team and what we're seeing
from the markets in this ballgame. Obviously my powering number
is lower. That does not mean I'm excited about taking
New Orleans in this ballgame.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Teddy's speaking of two teams in the mix. We get
it here with the Miami Dolphins in the Houston Texans
up next, Texans minus three flat pretty much across the
board as the home favorite, forty seven being the total
Dolphins at Texans next game.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Up Look headline Houston minus two and a half forty seven.
My powering numbers a little bit shorter, came only Houston
a half half the market's open two and forty seven last night.
We've seen nothing but Texans money since the two and
a half's are gone, and now it's three across the board.
So there's been a clear a wise guy move towards
(09:12):
Houston off the openers for this one. Miami did a
lot of things wrong yesterday. You know, they only went
one to nine on third downs, but they buckled down
when the game was on the line. They really did.
They went two and two on fourth downs. Two after
the game, he said he wasn't gonna say what he
wasn't gonna repeat what he said in the huddle as
they were down what twenty three to fifteen, needed to
(09:35):
make a place to get that game into ot quote
from Tua. Just know we were getting after everyone inside
the huddle to make sure you're blocking the way you
need to block, You're running routes the way you need
to be. You need to be in the right spots
Tyreek Hill. Actually we were down twenty three to fifteen.
We were trotting back in the field. Everybody knew what
was at stake at that moment. We knew if we lose,
it's over. Our season is over. Tua. You know, three
(09:59):
hundred straight, three hundred yards passing in each of the last
three games. Quota means a lot, means a lot because
we have no room for error to lose another game.
Miami didn't play well yesterday. They did show refuse to lose.
That is certainly a positive time a sign Texans off
that twenty three to twenty win against the Jags. Remember
that game was twenty three to six well into the
(10:19):
fourth quarter. The final score not indicative of how the
game was played. Houston was in control. That being said,
off a win and a bye not always the best
spot laying points in your next ball game. I'm surprised
at how much Betty market attention Houston's gotten now three
point chuck in this one. My initial lean as towards
Miami plus the points.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
An interesting schedule spot here, just for the NFL opening
line report.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
The two teams that they just.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Played, the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars, on
the wrong side of that game on both of those
games last week, but it is Jets minus three. There
is a three and a hook out there, Teddy minus
three with juice at most shops. Forty and a half
being the total Jets at Jaguars from North Florida.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Next game up, look aad line Jets minus three total
thirty nine and a half. My powering number is only
Jets minus two. And a half. I can't make the
Jets three point favorites over just about anyone right now,
particularly on the highway. The markets, as you mentioned, were
split last night three slash three and a half total
of forty and we're seeing mostly threes with juice right now.
(11:24):
There are a couple of three and a half's out there,
but we'll call it a three for the Jets. And
there were positive signs yesterday. Aaron Rodgers his first three
hundred yard game as a New York Jets if Mark
Arrett Wilson had a big game, DeVante Adams had a
huge game. The passing game worked, the run defense was great.
They allowed only forty four yards on the ground. That
(11:44):
being said, you know the game that the offense worked
for the Jets, the defense didn't. They had no sacks
on Tua, they got torched late and boy, that defense
showed a lot of quid in overtime. You know, this
is the defense, the Jets defense. They have two interceptions
this year. All right, we're in Week fifteen. That's tied
with the Giants for the NFL low And that matters
(12:06):
when you're going against Mac Jones. If your defense isn't
picking off passes. You're not creating takeaways. You know, that's
what you're supposed to do to be Jacksonville. Aaron Rodgers quote,
a lot of different ways. We've lost these games. Everyone
has some skin on that. But we had opportunities on offense.
Whatever happens on defense doesn't matter. We got to get
to thirty points. We didn't do it. I mean, Jets again,
(12:30):
this is not gonna be a game that's gonna get
a ton of betting attention. Hard for me to lay
a price with the Jets on the highway. That being said,
I mean the Jaguars. They got to win. They got
to win despite the fact that Mac Jones threw two
picks without an interception, they only getting two point seven
yards per carry. They hadn't won any game since October.
Doug Peterson quote, it's sort of a relief, right, you know.
(12:53):
It's the excitement, it's the joy of the work that
you put in and you're finally rewarded. That's not a
bet on quote for the next week, sort of a relief.
Mac Jones quote. We didn't quit this time, which is
really important for us moving forward. There was no quit.
That's not a bet on quote either. For Jacksonville. I
(13:15):
don't play this game. I can't imagine playing this game.
Maybe we'll find something for the total. Don't know, well,
find much for the side we didn't quit this time.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Man with you on that quote, Teddy, and interesting you
bringing up the Jets and the Giants two interceptions year
to date. Normally you know handicappers. We handicapped the interceptions
thrown by the quarterbacks. I've never thought about it the
other way around, but it does make sense, Teddy. Great
point there is. We got Cincinnati and Tennessee up next.
We are seeing the Bengals minus five point road favorites
(13:45):
forty seven in the hook being the total. Do note
Bengals playing Monday Night football against the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
But I'll throw it over to you here, Teddy.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
As the Bengals go on the road to Nashville to
take on the Titans, lay in five.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
And this is if you're gonna make one bet, make
two bad scenario, because if Cincinnati blows out Dallas tonight,
this line's gonna come higher. All right. If you like
the Bengals tonight, you may want to consider laying the
four and a half slast five ria with them. I
guess it's five across the board right now. They were
four and a halfs last night, but you might own
to consider laying five with them tonight. It could easily
be seven six and a half seven. If Cincinnati looks good,
(14:21):
it beats up on Dallas. Of course, if you want
to bet against the Bengals tonight, I don't think the
correlation is quite as strong as they'll still be favorites
over Tennessee. Look headline here with Sincy minus four and
a half and forty nine my powering number prior to
Monday night football. Since he minus four and a half,
the markets five and forty eight last night and we're
(14:42):
seeing five and forty seven and a half this morning,
a little bit of under money has come in, and
some of that has to do with Tennessee's anemic offensive
showing yesterday. You know, I mean they ran the football
Tony Pollard twenty one for one hundred and two Will Levis,
no interceptions, and they scored six points. You know, so
(15:03):
that's a concern. And they had a couple of chances
to win late too, fourth down stops. They got to
the Jaguars what they got to the nine yard line
and couldn't convert now one in five at home this season.
You know, Brian Callahan quote, you know, that's the difference
(15:24):
in the type ball game, a individual game. You got
to score touchdowns down there, and they went zero and
too in the red zone and we didn't. Jeffrey Simmons
interesting quote, Pro Bowl defensive lineman quote, I'm tired of
saying we got to do better, play better. I don't know,
I don't have no answers. Complimentary football wasn't there. Tennessee's
a frustrated team headed in the wrong direction right now,
(15:45):
and it certainly showed in yesterday's home loss to the Jags.
Not a team that Betty Markets are about to go, Yeah, yeah,
Tennessee's got the team to back right here. So I
do think if Sincy looks good tonight, if they look
good tonight, that this number comes higher than for next week.
Something worth noting when it comes to taking advantage of
(16:06):
opportunities that are there before kickoff for Monday night football
that may not be available afterwards.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Four six three four six four up next.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Baltimore ravens that the New York Giants a game only
a sports better can love. As we get the largest
number on the card here minus fourteen and a half
or minus fifteen that is the road team favored Ravens
at Giants here teddy forty three and a hook being
the total.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Look aheadline Baltimore only eleven and a half total of
forty four and a half pure powering number says twelve
and a half for this ball game. That being said,
I understand why the markets came high on Baltimore. Giants
aren't going to attract a whole lot of money in
this matchup fourteen and a half the number here at
least at fourteen and a half. Some wise guys will
come in and take the g Men total was looking
(16:53):
forty three and a half last night, still sitting there
this morning, so not allowed to move on. This total
of Baltimore obviously has taken money despite the fact that
they had a bye week, which tells you how bad
the Giants looked again yesterday and they covered the spread
and defeat. But Baltimore, when you think about the scenario
off the loss to Philly, poorly played game and the
(17:14):
buy they're three and three in their last six games,
also lost to the Steelers in the Brown, so there's
real urgency for the Ravens. We like harball with extra
time to repair to the Giants. I mean, Drew Locke
threw forty nine pass attempts yesterday and he completed and
didn't get a touchdown, and they'd only two uned in
thirteen yards and Locke had multiple chances to win the
game straight up at the end, couldn't complete pass in
(17:35):
the end zone. They settled for a field goal to tie,
and then of course that field goal was blocked. They
lost eight straight games. That's one shy of the team record.
You know, Brian the ball who knows he's going to
be gone at the end of the season. Quote, I'm
disappointed that we have two wins the Giants. You talked
about the lack of interception. The Giants got to two
yesterday where the Tray Hawkins picked off Derek Carr and
(17:59):
the third quarter of that ballgame their second hears after
the season. That was an NFL record run eleven consecutive
games without an interception for the Giants. So at least
that went a positive sign for yesterday. But this is
not a team that me, you, or anybody else trust
to hang around with quality competition. If that competition comes
(18:20):
to play and certainly Baltimore awful loss and a bye,
one would think they're likely to come to play.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Two more early kicks here, ten am Pacific, as we
got a bunch of afternoonkicks and love the two Monday
night football games this week. No buys either, guys, so
fire away any questions in the comments below or the
live chap. We'll try to answer them at the end
of the show. As we got Kansas City and Cleveland
up next here, Teddy, we are seeing case minus five
(18:47):
and a half to as high as minus six and
a half. I guess we could call consensus minus six.
There is more five and a hooks out there, guys,
as we're talking Monday morning, forty five being the total
Chiefs at Brown's next game up TC.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, the buys are over in the NFL. The last
ones were this past weekend. For the last four weeks
of the regular season and the end of the playoffs,
we will not have to discuss buys teams off of
buy teams going into the buy any of that again,
because again in that period of the season ended with
this past weekend and the games that are all the
six teams that are coming out of buys this week
(19:20):
a couple of whom face off against one another, Kansas
City and Cleveland. Look headline, Chiefs minus five and a
half total of forty five and a half. My powering
number for the game is casey six. That's what we
were seeing five and a half six last night, that's
what we're seeing today. Five and a half, I would say,
would be the prevailing number total of forty five. So
(19:41):
the markets haven't really moved a whole lot on this ballgame.
And look, Kansas City has been rocky. Okay. You know,
when you joint in a game winning field goal and
you're on your third stream kicker to win the division,
you're clearly getting some of the breaks. And of course
the incredible thing Kansas City is f fifteen and ozho
in one score games over the last two seasons, which
(20:02):
is truly remarkable. And they can win this in a
one score games. They've had three different kickers make a
game winning field goal. Remember, Butcker's hurt. You know, no
other team in NFL history has had more than one
kicker to do so and gave me a field goal
as time expired. Now, the Chiefs have just clinched their
ninth Street Division title, that second in NFL history, only
(20:25):
the Patriots eleven consecutive division titles ranks above that. It
is worth noting Casey's offensive line has had some issues
of late. Patrick Mahomes sacked three times yesterday. He's taken
thirteen sacks over the last three games. That's the most
in any three game stretch in his career. As for Cleveland, look,
Jamis came back to earth a little bit yesterday after
(20:46):
that crazy. I don't know coming back to earth the
right thing. You know. He didn't throw o for almost
five hundred yards, I'll put it that way against the
Steelers defense, only five point two yards per pass attempt,
two interceptions, three sacks. Cleveland finished min to in turnovers,
and they scored a first quarter touchdown, didn't score again
until the game was twenty seven to seven in the
fourth quarter, garbage time. Dustin Hopkins, we talk about kickers.
(21:09):
You know, he missed two makeable field goals when the
game was still in doubt. He leads the NFL nine
field goal misses this season. Quote. I need to find
a good swing. The good swing has been tough to
find this year. The Winston after the game, I don't
believe the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns. I believe
(21:30):
the Cleveland Browns beat the Cleveland Browns. Certainly Cleveld's gonna
come to play. The effort's been there for Cleveland. I'm not,
and you know they're coming out there having fun and
Casey's struggling to win games by margin. We keep saying,
oh yeah, I'll lay it with the Chiefs as soon
as they show me they can win one. And they
haven't been able to do it, so I might. There's
a chance I'll look at Cleveland plus the points this week.
(21:52):
I don't know if I get there, but there's a chance.
I think it's a spot that we can expect full
effort from the Browns.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
In the chat box saying, on a seven game losing
streak against the spread before the Chiefs, that's got to
be the first time in NFL history at twelve and
one dropped seven ats Teddy, But just a wild stat there.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Thanks for chiming in coin. We'll move down the.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
List here at TC, we got Dallas at Carolina.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
I'll throw it over to you.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Remember the Patrio. The Patriots went had the undefeated regular season,
and they had a bye and they came out of
the bye, they won to cover. They were killing everyone
they came out of the by. I think they had
Buffalo on Monday Night and they beat them by fifty points,
and the rest of the year end up losing the
Giants in the Super Bowl. The rest of the year,
I think they covered one point spread. They were winning
(22:39):
games but not covering the pointer. But two. That's one
that just came to mind when you talk about teams.
Had that ever been done before. I think that Patriots
team also a lot of wins without covering over the
back half of the campaign.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Nice catch there, TC Okay, yeah, I remember that year,
and hey, it's rare.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
I remember too much.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Twelve Now, that's what we love about the show. My
man in the notes here, and it's for the information.
Another interesting handicap here for sports Better is it's the
Dallas Cowboys Carolina Panthers. Do note Cowboys playing Monday night football,
but also note it's the Panthers minus one point home favorites.
This is the first time all season long Carolina's, well,
(23:17):
at least right now, going off as the favorite forty
three being the total Cowboys at Panthers next game up.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, look, aheadline Dallas minus two. My powering number Dallas
minus one. The markets opened Carolina one and a half
and forty three last night, and basically we're seeing ones,
mostly ones. There are some one and a half's out there,
forty two and a half forty three the prevailing total.
So a little bit of under money and not a
(23:46):
broad market move, but a little bit of under money
for this one. And certainly we've seen the markets flip
to Carolina. We talked on the show last week about
what a bad spot it was for the Eagles and
now Philly may not be interested in all that game.
It was that big said. Carolina still didn't pull the
final way to pull out the upset. They had their chances,
(24:06):
they able to get open with the game when he
touched down in his hands and he drops it. That
being said, the Panthers offensive line held up versus the Eagles,
and that to me was the the only reason I
didn't play the game. But that was afraid Carolina was
just gonna get blown up up front, and it didn't
work out that way at all. Carolina was able to
(24:27):
chew a Hubbard ninety two yards in the ground three
point five yards per carry, solid only one sack on
Bryce Young. You know, did Canalis after another loss quote
talking about the Legette drop. That's a big play we're
counting on. He'll be the first one to tell you
he's got to make that play. Bryce steps up, makes
a beautiful throw in the situation, we had the coverage
we wanted all that. Those are the play We've just
(24:49):
got to find a way to make for us to
get back in the winning column, of course, Dallas. And
when you have a team that continues to lose but
continues to fight, I don't expect that fight to go
away because they lost last week. I don't. So you
find the team when they get that win. That's when
(25:09):
they exale. Look at what's happened to Tennessee the last
couple weeks is the prime example of that. You finally
get the way I got that winn over Houston, and
they've been pretty awful ever since. So Dallas plays tonight.
If the Cowboys look good, If the Cowboys pull off
the opposet, they'll be favorites tomorrow both ways for Monday
Night Football. All right. If talked about Cincinnati earlier, if
(25:31):
you like Sincy tonight, may want to play them. Twice.
I think it's the same story for Dallas. If you
like the Cowboys plus the points, I think Dallas is
going to win this game or come close if Dallas
plays well on National TV tonight. I can't see Carolina
going off as a favorite of this game. I really can't.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
We got five afternoon kicks up next, guys, starting here
four six, nine, four to seven zero.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Battle for Pennsylvania as it is the Eagles minus four
in a hook, minus five as the home favorite, forty
three being the total here Steelers at Eagles TC.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Yeah, we too. Before we talk about Pittsburgh and Philadelphia,
I'm trying to figure out what the right point of
the show is to give you guys some promo stuff,
some good deals. I think between the early games and
the late games the right time to do it. So
let me promote for a minute. Because it's been a
good NFL season. It's been a good overall all sports run.
The college hoops is red hot right now. The college
football has been rock solid. Wasn't a great weekend, but
it's been real good the last couple of weeks, and
(26:27):
the NFL we talked about a sixty three percent dating
back to September and a long term track record. You
guys know then, I live and die with this stuff.
Two promotions that we want to talk about first, If
I'm your guy, the TC three sixty five is still
up and available. It gives you every play, every day,
every sport for a full year, three hundred and sixty
(26:48):
five days. Just use promo code TC three sixty five
at checkout. That goes for ninety nine bucks a month
for the next twelve months. Again, a normally monthly prices
to ninety nine. You get that for ninety nine a
month and there's nothing more to buy. There's no nonsense
with it. If you want to get on board with
me for the next year, let's partner up TC three
sixty five at checkout. You can also take advantage of
(27:10):
the December to Remember package again, normally two ninety nine
for a full month, down to one ninety nine for December.
That's going to get you all the bulls, all the NBA,
all the college football, and obviously all the NFL all
month long. No promo code needed to take advantage of
that December to Remember, just one ninety nine at my page.
WT dot Buzz backslash TC. Thank you for allowing me
(27:33):
to promote, and most of all, we appreciate the likes.
We appreciate the comments. Drew and I get in there
every week and answer back as many comments as we can.
Thank you for your support of the show. If you
like this show, we love it. If you buy a package,
you don't have to buy a package. Tell your friends.
That's all we ask. Thank you. Let's talk about Philadelphia
and Pittsburgh right now. Well, look at line here, Eagles
(27:58):
five and a half forty five, five and a half.
My powering number only came three on this game, and
really came two point seventy five. I have two and
a half's last three, which is like three even money
or two and a half men in which way you
want to hook it. And the markets opened four and
a half forty four last night. Pittsburgh still not getting
the betting market respect that I think they deserve. And
that's been better. Up four and a half, up to five.
(28:19):
There are five and a half starting to pop. Looking
at that free Wager Talk Live odd screen for the Steelers,
and look, I mean they gained four point three yards
per play. They only had fifteen first downs two or
sixty seven total yards. Don't be fooled by the twenty
seven points. That being said, George Pickens was on the sideline.
They need Pickts to get that offensive clicking. He is
their playmaking receiver. First game of his career that he missed,
(28:42):
he had a growing injury. We would expect him to
be back this week, but I don't know that for sure.
Defense forced three turnovers. Fourteen year veteran, you know, defense
tackle Cam Hayward quote. We have a complete team, you know,
Mike Tomlin. That's what good teams do this time of year.
Somebody makes a play, the other side of the ball
(29:02):
backs it up. That's what we're trying to do, you know.
Tight end Pat Fryarmorth talking about all the close games
they played. You know, why not test us before the playoffs,
get a feel they are all playoff teams we're playing.
So it'll be great. Pittsburgh certainly a team with some
positive momentum right now, feeling pretty good about themselves, and
a team that has overachieved to the points bread in
(29:24):
a real way for Philly. I mean, look, they didn't
give up, they didn't turn the ball over. Yesterday, they
held Carolina at a four point four yards per play.
The defense showed up Saquon Barkley another two hundred yard game.
He has now set the Eagles all time franchise record
for rushing yards in a season. And he still have
four games to go and yet life and death to
(29:47):
win the game. What's going on? The passing game's not
working at all? Jalen Hurts just one hundred and eight
passing yard sacked four times, all right, but Hurts. You know,
everybody has a reason to want more. I play my
role in how we execute, but unfortunately it's about what
position we put ourselves in. It's not my choice, you know,
Nick Sirianni, You know, I think it's fair that the
(30:09):
questions are about our past game are right now. You know,
Kellen Moore's offense isn't clicking despite the fact that they
were able to run the football basically a will against everyone.
I don't know if they'll be able to run the
ball at will against Pittsburgh, so they're gonna have to
throw the football around. Jalen Hurts quote, let the let
the dissatisfaction fuel you for more. It's always a fair
(30:31):
place to be. So we know there's more out there.
For us, we're in pursuit of trying to find it again.
My number comes shorter than the market number on this,
but I've been off. My market number has been off
on Pittsburgh all year, and it's making me money. So
I'm not adjusting my Steelers power rating down. All the quotes,
(30:53):
all the results coming out of Pittsburgh right now are
legitimately positive.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Like it, Teddy Goode match up there, guys in the
state of Pennsylvania. We'll head to the state of Michigan
for another good one possible Super Bowl matchup preview. Here
Buffalo Bills Detroit Lions. We're seeing the Lions Teddy minus two.
There is a one and a hook out there, fifty
four being the total Bills at Lions from the Motor City.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
So I could care less you win the Super Bowl.
I'm a fan of no team. That being said from
a tortured fan based standpoint, I'd love to see Buffalo
play Detroit. What you know, if it came to the
Big Game and both teams are certainly capable of getting there,
we'll look ahead line Detroit minus two and a half
fifty one and a half. My powering number Detroit minus three.
The market's open two and a half last night and
(31:41):
fifty three and a half. We've seen over money up
to fifty four slash fifty four and a half, a
little bit of over money there, and we've seen some
bills money in that ballgame. Now, I mean Josh Allen,
I thought he clinched the MVP two weeks ago with
the he might have clinched it against Kansas City. And
then he had the game where he caught the pass,
caught the touchdown, receiving touchdown, the rushing touchdown, in the
(32:01):
passing touchdown, and then yesterday. You know, I think the
first player in NFL history or the second player it
was so it was Otto Graham. I think it was
someone from back in like the fifties. Three touchdowns, passing,
three touchdowns, running in the same game, no secks, no interceptions.
Josh Allen was as good as any player in football. Yes,
it was unbelievable, you know, I mean they only ran
(32:23):
James Cook ran for twenty yards, six carries for twenty
yards and he had eighty two yards Josh Allen did
on the ground of that game. Sean McVay after the
forty four to forty two Rams victory quote, Josh Allen
is an alien. Some of the stuff he can do,
the things he could create. We knew his capable of that.
He's shown that. That's why he's a well respected and
well regarded in this league as he is. You know,
(32:46):
and then you know on Buffalo, the first team in
NFL history ever to score six touchdowns without a turnover
and lose the game. The block punt touchdown ended up
being the difference in the contest. Sean mcturmot. You know,
they did a great job at controlling the limits the
line of scrimmage on both sides the ball. I read
that quote earlier. Defensively and special teams neither were good
enough to help us win this game. Remember Buffalo number
(33:07):
one in the NFL plus seventeen turnover differential. Yesterday, they
didn't get the turnovers and they didn't win the game.
And obviously the defense for the Bills got absolutely annihilated
in that contest. There were no answers for LA's passing game,
and the Rams ran the football effectively as well. Buffalo
still with the fewest giveaways in the league. The Lions, man,
(33:31):
when you walk us some of the first down numbers
for the Lions. When it comes to ball control and
just grinding out clock and grinding out yards. They're plus
ten first downs every week, they were plus twenty plus thirty.
I mean, we've seen some incredible first down differentials. Even
the game against Green Bay, they're twenty seven first downs
compared to only seventeen aloud. This team converts on third down,
you know, and then they convert on fourth down as well.
(33:52):
They went for on that late fourth down. Dan Campbell,
That's will be one of those you'd never forget. I
just felt like we needed to end it on offense.
I did not want to give the ball back, and
I believe we could convert. I trust the old line.
I trust David. I don't know which David it was.
Maybe it's Montgomery. He trust David. I forgot about the
carry for that. Detroit now franchise record eleventh straight victory,
(34:15):
including two against the Packers. They've beat Minnesota as well,
so certainly it's a Lion's team. Difficult to stand in
front of. That being said, the defensive injuries for Detroit
are a real concern. The defensive and effectiveness for Buffalo
yesterday was a real concern, and the Bills couldn't win
(34:36):
a game, they didn't win the turnover battle. I'm not
shocked at all. We've seen over money for this one.
Where do the stops come from in a game where
both teams have shown a lot of refuse to lose.
I'll give the Bills credit. Yesterday they could have laid down,
you know, the Rams smacked him, and they smacked him,
and they smacked him again, and even in what should
(34:57):
have been a flat spot coming off. Yeah, we just
the division the Bills. The hunger was there and I'm
sure it'll be there this week as well. Great game,
a lot of fun. And again, if you like the over,
bet it right now, because under money is not. I
don't see it on the horizon.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Yeah, good point there, Teddy is it's fifty four ticking
up to fifty four in a hook right now. And
to your point, I mean, it's amazing what a good
running game and an accurate quarterback can do for your
first down totals. As we'll move down the list here,
four to seven, three, four to seven to four Indianapolis
Colts and the Denver Broncos. Speaking of a kind of
surprising quarterback play here with the Broncos minus four point
(35:37):
home favorites forty three and a half or forty four
being the total. Broncos have been an absolute wagon here,
Teddy what covering five straight ten and three against the spread,
laying four here a mile high hosting the Colts.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Yeah, I apologize. I wrote down a wrong number here
and I don't know how to fix it, so let
me just start here. Look, headline was Denver five and
a half forty three and a half. My power rating
was four and a half. I don't have the openers
from last night, and once it's written on the game
ahead of it like two and a half. Oh gosh,
So I apologize for right now we're looking at four
(36:12):
and forty six and a half, and for me to
recreate that, I have to go back and look at
where all the lines were at all these different books
last night, and I can't do that live on air.
So I apologize. I don't have well what the number
was properly at the open. Right now it is sitting
at four slash forty three and a half. There are
a couple of forty fours out there and this is
a nothing game to talk about. The Cults are off
a twenty five to twenty four win against the Pats
(36:33):
and a bye week. The Broncos are off that crazy
Monday night game with the two pick sixes and beating
the Browns and a bye week both teams. There's an
enormous urgency Denver right now in the seventh seed in
the AFC in he wants that seven seed. So it's
certainly the type of game where one would expect. You know,
this is a max intensity game for both squads, both
(36:56):
teams resting and ready. I would not be shocked, No,
I'm not. I've I feel like you want to take
points in this game. And yet Denver's made everybody money
who's backed them all season, so I'm not convinced that.
And Denver's got the better defense, so I'm not convinced
that we're gonna see Indie money between now and kickoff.
(37:17):
But it wouldn't shock me. I basically, listen, I don't
know where the line's gonna move this on this game.
I really don't, so in to di vergency. You know, again,
look at it was five and a half. We're four
here based off of nothing. You know, both teams didn't
play on Sunday, So it showed me that there is
at least some market support out there for it in
(37:40):
a must win spot for the.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Colts four to seven, six up next Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At the LA Chargers, we were seeing Chargers minus three
at most shops there is two and a half with
juice available. As we're talking Monday morning, forty six and
a hook being the total bucks at Chargers from southern California.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
Here at DC look aheadline LA minus three and a
half forty six and a half my powering number only
two for the Chargers. There wasn't really a look headline
on this game last night because the Chargers were playing
the Chiefs. And this morning, what are we seeing? As
you mentioned, it's mostly threes out there for LA total
forty six and a half to prevailing number, which is
(38:21):
pretty close to what we were talking about on the
look ahead. It was three and a half to look at.
But I mean it's the Chargers team that the last
three losses they've all been tied a head in the
fourth quarter. They lost by seven points to the Ravens.
They lost by two to Arizona on the last second
field goal. They lost by two to the Chiefs on
a doint in field goal. Yesterday, so they've been in
every game, all right. They didn't have lad McConkey yesterday,
(38:41):
and the passing game still worked, justin Herbert thirty two
and thirteen a one touchdown, no picks. But when you play,
you shut out for a half. And again it was
the same story last week where the offense didn't I
think at two first downs after halftime. There's lots of
these stretches for the Chargers where the offense it just
doesn't work. Herbert quote, we didn't make enough plays in
(39:03):
the first half, and next year the way we wanted
to pass game, run game, we weren't moving the ball. Well,
that's on us. I praise the guys for staying in
their stampatient making plays in the second half. But we've
certainly seen this. This Chargers offen has been very, very
hit or miss, and when it's not clicking, it can
get ugly. For Tampa Bay yards per play seven point
(39:27):
one against four point five, you know, they out game
the Raiders by more than two and a half yards
of play. They had four turnovers but went three to
three in the red zone. Back over five hundred. A
fourth straight NFC's South title now within reach. The running game,
and of all the teams in the league, we look
at Tampa's running game from like September to where they
(39:48):
are now, I don't think any teams improve more when
it comes to the ability to control the line of
scrimmage and open holes for their backs. Bucket. Everying got
hurt yesterday, didn't matter of Shard White seventeen carries ninety
yards five point three yards per carry. And this is
a team that really couldn't run the football last year.
They couldn't run the football early. That running game has
been a difference maker for them. So Tampa, who's bounced
(40:08):
back three game winning streak. Now they're at the top
of the division. Todd Bowles quote, it's one thing getting
the first place, a whole other thing staying there. We
got four games left. It's gonna be a battle all
the way through. We have to come ready every week.
Baker Mayfield doesn't have to be pretty, and yesterday's game wasn't. Obviously,
there's a lot of things that I would personally like
to have back. But it's a resilient group. We play
for each other. Guys step up when other people go down.
(40:31):
That's what football is all about. It teaches you life lessons.
This is my life lesson I learned from football is
I don't know, don't bet they had teams. Here's a
life lesson for Tampa. They're playing goodball. Defensively, They're not
as good as the Chargers. Offensively, they're probably better. This
(40:53):
would be a fun game. I'm gonna spend some time
with this game this week, and really I think Tampa
might be worth a look.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
A couple games left here, guys. Any questions fire away
in the live chat also in the comments below, and
we'll answer them at the end of next week's show.

match to finish your year here guys, the December Finish
Strong Special as you'll get all the NFL, all the
plays in All Sports Final Afternoon kick up. Next hear
TC New England and the Arizona Cardinals Cardinals minus six
(41:41):
and a half. At most shops, there is minus six
out there, forty five in the hook being the total.
Patriots at Cardinals from the Desert.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Yeah, Patriots off that last second, lost to Indy twenty
five to twenty four on the two point conversion at
the end of the game, and a bye week. So
in theory, it's a good spot for should be rested
and ready and hungry. Of course, they're not that good
of a team, Arizona. I mean they've now lost three
straight after being in first place in the NFC West.
(42:13):
I need one more win for the Cardinals. Cast my
season win bet and I'll be happy. I've also got
some Arizona to make the playoffs in my pocket. Worry
about that after they get the one win. This is
the team they're supposed to beat. But Kyler Murray, you know,
it is the first time in his six year career
that he's had at least two interceptions in back to
back games. He struggled against Seattle's defense. You know his
(42:34):
quote today, you throw two picks, you put yourself behind
the eight ball. In the NFL, it's tough. It's on me.
Just put it on me. That's a mature veteran quote.
You know, he's still threw for two hundre fifteenne yards
in a couple of touchdowns, but the first quarterback to
back interceptions in both those led the touchdowns for Seattle,
and that was really the difference in the ballgame. Jonathan Gannon,
(42:57):
second year head coach quote, I got a find some
answers to get up going, to get us going a
little bit because we haven't played great the last couple weeks.
That falls on me. I've got to go back to
the drawing board tomorrow, meeting today, Monday, and get these
things corrected, put them in better position, and we've got
to win a game. There is enormous urgency for the
Cardinals this week and in theoryus a opponent that they
(43:18):
should be able to beat.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
We had Sunday Night football up next and it's a
good one two possible playoff teams here, Packers at Seahawks.
We are seeing Green Bay minus three three point road favorites.
There is a two and a half out there with juice,
but minus three at most shops, forty seven being the totals.
Packers at Seahawks from the Pacific Northwest, DC.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
Look Ahead Lion, green Bay minus two and a half.
My powering number green Bay minus two, the market's open
two and a half. Total forty seven, the look Ahead
forty seven last night, forty seven this morning. For what
it's worth, I don't think I gave the numbers for Arizona.
Arizona look Ahead minus seven and forty four. My powering
number is six and a half and the market's open
(44:01):
six and a half and forty five. On that one.
We've seen over money for Arizona, New England. Basically, this
green Bay Seattle total hasn't moved. The packers have seen
money off the open and of course, you know green
Bay coming off with extra time to prepare. They played
on Thursday night against Detroit, and then it's a wild game.
You know, Jordan Love they have a really good offense,
(44:22):
but so do we. I don't think there was any
pressure on us. We just got off to a slow start. Obviously,
a thirty four to thirty one loss in that ballgame.
Matt Lafleur, that's exactly the kind of game we expected.
It was tough, it went back and forth. There were
just a couple of players that didn't go our way.
We didn't see any o. We're crushed from Green Bay.
F of that. Just we lost a game, competitive game,
and now extra time we're prepping the packs are really packs?
(44:42):
Are packers? Are a good team out a team I'm
gonna rush to step in front of that being said,
Seattle's made me money. I had them again yesterday, we
had them last week. It's a Seahawks team that I
think has been a little bit undervalued in the marketplace
following that mid season slide. There's an urgency and again
things worked out right for them. Yesterday they were plus
doing turnovers, they scored touchdowns off of both. But they've
(45:04):
won four straight games. They outgained the yards per play
by a full yard per play yesterday against Arizona. And
they ran the football, which has been a problem. You know,
Zach Charboney two carries, one hundred and thirty four yards,
two touchdowns. Yeah, the one long carry, one big play touchdown,
but they moved the ball on the ground. The team
finished with one hundred and seventy six rushing yards at
(45:26):
five point seven yards per carry against a decent run defense.
You know, Gino Smith, dude, I thought the offensive line
was phenomenal. The way they played, we can win every
game we played. I like the Seattle team. I may
back them here as dogs, but I don't know that
(45:48):
I will. Tree Bay is not a team I'm going
any rush to step in front of. But Seahawks have
been making me money, and I think there's something of
an union rallied commodity still in the betting marketplace. Obviously,
my number for this game, there's only two in the
markets all the way up to three, and that's a
Even though it's only one point, the number of three
matters a lot. I want to come to the NFL.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Absolutely key number there of three to two and a half.
We get Chicago and Minnesota. As we flip the script
here to Monday, December sixteenth, we get two Monday nighters.
Speaker 2 (46:18):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
Not sure why the NFL is putting them up against
each other, but hey, at least we got two games.
Vikings minus six and a half minus seven is out there,
forty three and a hook or forty four being the
total NFC North Division battle here with the Bears at
the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
Steady yeah. In thought process wise, I have no idea
with the NFL is thinking running two games against each
other on Monday night, neither one. Maybe is the marquee
matchup that they want. I don't know. Look aheadline here
in Minnesota minus five and a half total of forty
two my powering number Minnesota minus nine. Markets opened seven
forty three and a half and down to six this morning,
(46:55):
six and a half, I should say this morning, Well,
some forty fours are popping. A little bit of Bears money,
a little bit of over money. So the last two weeks,
all right, First the Bears played the Lions and they
were outgained by more than two hundred yards in the
first half of that game on Thanksgiving, but their defense
held in the red zone and they were still in
the game. And then they made a second half run
(47:16):
of made things interesting. So our game by two hundred
yards before halftime against Detroit. So this last week, what
happens against San Francisco out gained three nineteen to four.
This time, the defense gave up touchdowns. They're down twenty
four to OZ and there's no comeback this time. Zach
Kayleb Williams sacked seven times yards per play three point
one for the Bears, seven point one seven point four
(47:40):
for the Niners. That's embarrassing seventh straight loss. Caleb Williams.
We got our butt kicked today. There's no way around it.
We got it handed to us offense, defense, special teams.
We have to come back and be better. Worth noting
Kayler Williams has been sacked fifty six times this year.
That's the most for any Chicago quarterback since the AFL
(48:00):
NFL merger in nineteen seventy. As for Minnesota, so Chicago's
stinking up the joint, they're getting slapped around. They did
not get a new coach bump yesterday. Minnesota. They're tied.
Anyone can win Game twenty one, twenty one against Atlanta
in the fourth quarter and all of a sudden, you
look up and it's Vikings forty two on the Falcons
(48:22):
twenty one. You know, Minnesota touchdown, then a fumble kick return,
and then another touchdown and it was ballgame. Kevin O'Connell
the first forty point game in his three seasons on
the job head coach. It just felt like it was
one of those days to keep the gas pedaled down.
Sam Darnold yesterday, twelve point four yards per pass attempt,
(48:42):
five touchdowns, no interceptions. They went four to four in
the red zone. The you're impressive numbers. Minnesota. We've kind
of thought of them as a pretender, not a contender
all year long. They're playing, making their finding ways to
win games. They're very well coached team, and the chemistry
there is off the hook. Everybody likes each other in
(49:04):
the Vikings locker room right now, not so much net
regard when it comes to Chicago.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
Last chance to fire out any questions here, guys, is
we got one game left, will answer them at the
end of the show. Please smash that like button if
you're liking the content and comment below. Guys, any questions,
we'll answer them on next week show. As we got
the last game on the week fifteen card up next,
Atlanta Falcons lost Vegas Raiders Teddy.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
For you personally, this would be a good one to
go to man minus four and a half.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
It's the Falcons as the road favorite forty four forty
four and a half being the total. And I only
say that because if you go on a Sunday Teddy
as you know you missed too much as a sports
better but a Monday nighter, you've really only missed one
other game which you can record. That's why I threw
that out there, But either way, Teddy Falcons at Raiders
Falcons minus four minus four and a half as the
road favorite.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Yeah, the Raiders games. I always go to preseason games
for the Raiders. I'm like, yeah, I can get in
and it's not an is show. Obviously for Monday night football.
It wouldn't be a bad time to go either. Plenty
of good seats still available at Allegiance Stadium for tonight.
Look aheadline here Atlanta minus three and a half, forty
four and a half. My powering number Atlanta minus three
and a half even with the QB. I don't know
(50:14):
what we're gonna call the QB con under them for
the Raiders. We'll talk about it a minute, and that
line is probably short. The Raiders have to be downrated
even more. But Atlanta's a hard team to lay points with.
Right now, open four and a half forty two and
a half. Last night, we're still seeing mostly four and
a half. We've seen some over money forty four's today,
although you know some books open as high as forty five.
(50:36):
So for what it's worth, I'm not gonna call it
two way action on the total. The forty two and
a half was the was my consensus opener, and that
number has been bet up. So for the Raiders. What
happened Aidan O'Connell got hurt yesterday. He was ineffective too.
His red zone interception was unconscionable and cost me an overbed.
(50:59):
Not happy. And then you know, without Minshew, with O'Connell hurt,
is le eleffort. Desmond Ritter it, Desmond Ridders is not
an NFL quarterback. We've seen that. It's not anything new.
You know, twelve of eighteen for one hundred and one
yards but no touchdowns scored. With Ritter on the field,
the yards for play Raiders out gained four point five
yards or play to seven point one. The defense forced
three turnovers and still got blown out. They've lost an
(51:21):
NFL high nine straight games. Antonio Pierce, I appreciate the effort,
the grit, the fight. Listen, it's tough, and these guys
are not flinching or blinking. They still believe. All these
guys are fighting until the very end. Proud of the effort,
and he should be. I agree with that assessment. The
effort has been there for the Raiders week in, week out.
That being said, I don't know. All I keep hearing
(51:42):
is Dion Sanders to as a head coach rumors for
the Raiders right now. So when it comes to job security,
Antonio Pierce, you know, we'll see how it plays out
this off season. Who knows two rumors, rumors. Everyone wants
Dion now, he's a hot commodity, and I'll just say,
(52:03):
be careful what you wish for in that regard, you know.
As for the Falcons, look they're owing for the last
four ball games, Kirk Cousins, zero touchdowns, eight interceptions, while
they're not ing four during that span. Again, you're twenty
one to twenty one in the fourth quarter of a
must win game, you give up a TV, then you
fumble the kick return on another TV and boo. You know,
(52:23):
Rahee Marsh just can't have the self inflicted wounds and
expect to win football games like we had today, Kirk Cousins,
when you're playing well, usually aren't as good as people
are telling you when they're patting you on the back.
And if you're in a rut, you're usually not as
bad as people kind of leaving you for dead. The
reality is usually somewhere in the middle. You have to
keep playing and see where the dust settles in January.
I agree with that, that's a smart quote, the veteran
(52:44):
quote from Cousins, But right now he's not playing good
football and the Falcons not an easy team to lay
more than a field goal with on the highway. Raheem
Morris again, rehee Marsh was in my mind when he
was in Tampa. I thought that was one of the
worst coach teams in the NFL that year. And Atlanta
(53:04):
right now facing adversity, I'm not thrilled with Raheem Morris
and what he's been able to do getting that team
to get back on track. And of course, when your
QB zero touchdowns and eight receptions over a four game span,
that's your big free agent signing this offseason.
Speaker 1 (53:19):
Oops, absolutely, Teddy, As we've get a couple of questions here, guys,
to end it, Teddy, first off, you bring up Dion Sander.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
Is that really the rumors?
Speaker 3 (53:28):
Because I actually saw a podcast clip.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
On him, and obviously money changes things, but he was like,
I really have no interest in coaching in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (53:35):
It it doesn't interest me. But are people really talking
about beon?
Speaker 2 (53:41):
So the rumor again, it's a rum. It's nonsense, you know.
But yes there's talk about Shador Sanders being the number
one over a pick and the Raiders getting it and
Dion coming to coach him. And you know who knows
the Raiders need some buzz. There's not a lot of
buzz about the Raiders when it comes to so Stanators
is certainly someone in sure standers and now you know
(54:02):
they we're talking about guys who who attract media attention,
and that's you know, whether how real it is, who knows,
uh this is?
Speaker 3 (54:12):
Is this?
Speaker 2 (54:13):
Which? I know Mark Davis a year ago didn't have
money to fire any coaches, all right, and now he'said
Tom Brady's capital and infused into you know, all the
owners they're you know, the hedgephones and this and that.
They all not Mark Davis is the poorest owner in
the NFL. All they have is the Raiders. There's nothing else,
(54:35):
you know, So when the Raiders aren't making money, you know,
there isn't you know, everyone else got you know, I
owned shopping centers, I own car dealerships whatever. Mark Davis
all all he has the Raiders. So when they're short
on capital as they were, it leads to coaches being
sticking around too long. Remember, and he's still playing Gruden.
(54:56):
I mean there's uh and and now it's just where
there's been a capital infusions, the Raiders perhaps have a
little bit more room to make coaching changes in the offseason.
I don't blame Antonio Pierce for what happened this year.
I wouldn't fire the guy. But if you need some buzz, Dean,
I'll get you the buzz.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
Oh yeah, yeah, definitely bring that to Las Vegas as
we get grit splitz with a good question here, Teddy,
should you feed teams that just clinched a playoff spot
in their next game might count, they might come out flat.
Same with teams that just got eliminated. Does that change
your handicap, Teddy?
Speaker 2 (55:35):
The elimination part not at all. In fact, on better
on it. This week I'm going to talk about how
the teams that have just been eliminated in often good bets.
You know. Oh, they have nothing to play for. They
have nothing to play for. Who covered yesterday? They had
nothing to play for? The Giants, the Panthers. I'm just
going down the list. The Jags have nothing to play for.
(55:55):
They want and covered yesterday. The Vins. The Browns didn't,
but you know it's it's it was like they did.
They didn't show up for the game. You know, the
Raiders showed up for their games. So it's the the
nothing to play for argument? To me, is is something nonsensical?
What was the first part of that question? Though? I
wanted to relate to that because that was something that
(56:18):
made sense to me.
Speaker 3 (56:20):
Teams that just clinched a playoff spot.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Of course, when a team and when a team clinches
a division real early, that could be a bet against
And I thought that, you know, from the Buffalo standpoint,
where they fought tooth and nail and clinched that division early,
and now you have to fly to the West coast
you have Detroit on deck. I thought it was a
terrible spot for the Bills. And in some ways it
was Casey just clinched yesterday division. But then you can
(56:47):
bet against Casey every week you make money. But in general, yes,
after you clinch the division early, you tend to be
a little bit flat the next week, and and we've
certainly seen some of that, but it's not an auto bet.
You want to read the quotes, you want to pay
attention and it's different clinching week fourteen, Week fifteen versus
(57:11):
because you saw a bunch of football to play, versus
let's say a week seventeen clinch in which Week eighteen
might be a real no show game.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
That makes sense, Teddy and I guess a couple of
questions here. College football Indiana Notre Dame, SMU, Penn State, Clemson, Texas, Tennessee,
Ohio State the first round games here, does anything pop
off at you any of these teams to kind of
jump on early, jump.
Speaker 3 (57:36):
On late in the college football first round of the playoff.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
So there's been a term of side and total moves.
The totals really haven't done anything for all four of
these games. If you know, the fifty and a half
fifty one for Indiana Notre Dame has been there to
fifty three and a half fifty four SMU Penn State,
that's right where it opened. The fifty one and a
half fifty two Clemson ten, that's right where it opened.
(58:01):
You know, I opened a little bit higher at DK
and bol got bet down immediately. The forty sevens for
Tennessee and Ohio State again, no action there. Forty seven
and a half open, forty seven and one book forty
eight the other. Total wise nothing has done anything sidewise.
We've seen a little bit of Indiana money and then
(58:22):
a buy back, a little bit of buyback on the
on Notre Dame. But there were some sevens out there
and now it's sells seven and a half and eight.
But initially it was some Indiana money, but the big ones,
the Ohio state money, you know, that was seven and
now we're realistically seeing seven and a halfs across the
board for that one. So the market's made a move
off the opener towards the buck eye, saying that they're
(58:43):
better than what we just saw. But in terms of
there's in terms of oh you got to bet this
right now, urgency, urgency, I'm not seeing it. For the
college football playoffs, these lines are going to sit around
for a couple of weeks for people get involved.
Speaker 3 (58:57):
Yeah, I agree with you, Teddy, and I would just
throw out there.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
You know, it's less than two weeks until the first
round of the game, so it's it's kind of different
this season.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
There's not as much preparation time.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
And to Teddy's point on the totals, guys, I mean,
first off, all four games are outdoor stadiums, so projecting
the weather, and three of them are up north, like
Big ten Country, so that's also going to be part
of the totals betting Teddy.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Yeah, yeah, I certainly will. And yeah you're not you're
not going to project weather for what it's going to
look like in in South Bend, or in Columbus or
in the Happy Valley two weeks ahead of time. So
I'm not surprised that you mentioned we haven't seen much
movement on the on the totals and uh and there
was an excellent point about these games being much quicker.
You know, there's not like, oh, got weeks to think
(59:44):
about it, guess what you know? Or they're they're going
next weekend.
