Speaker 1 (00:00):
About the one and only Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Let's start off the top of the thing, and the
team that's been leading the AC North for the last
couple of seasons, a team that's been dominating the regular season,
a team that has been so great that they fumble
themselves in the postseason each and every year that Lamar
Jackson has been on the Baltimore Ravens team. But with
that being said, guys, the Ravens failed to make the
AC Championship game again last season. After the huge addition
(00:23):
of Derrick Henry last season, I was kind of acceptic
about what Derrick Henry might do to this team, but
Derek Henry carried that team most of the season. The
biggest issue for the Baltimore Ravens the last couple of
six seasons, right have been the playoff wins. They're either
losing in the divisional round, losing the championship round, and
they get past the wild card by I mean one
of them.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
They it's a miracle, right.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
But they did add DeAndre Hopkins to this offseason, adding
to that receiver corps that was pretty damn good in
my opinion. But they stole DeAndre Hopkins from the Kansaity
Chiefs in this offseason. But guys, the addition of DeAndre
Hopkins to the Baltimore Ravens make them better? Not a
(01:06):
super Bowl team, not an AFC championship team, just better
in general? Does the addition of DeAndre Hopkins to the
Baltimore Ravens make them better?
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:16):
DeAndre Hopkins, Guys used to be an elite talent. De
Hop used to be the man, the myth, the legend.
D Hop used to be the guy that everybody earned
to get in fantasy, that earned that the one on
their team. Right when he went from the Texas to
the Cardinals, we all thought the Cardinals struck go like Texas,
what are you doing right? But that was four years ago.
(01:39):
That was five years ago as not twenty twenty five. Guys,
de Hop used to find ways to get open. A
massive routes, great body positioning, He used to find ways
to get open. But last season, when he was picked
up by the KANCAA Chiefs mid season from the Tennessee Titans,
he just never really showed.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Signs of greatness anymore.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
He just showed himself as a mid tier wide receiver,
number three number for number four guy on on like
any other team. Now, he did have four hundred and
thirty seven yards before we'll put the KNSCA Chiefs last
season with another one hundred and sead of seventy three
yards with the Tennessee Titans giving him around north of
six hundred one hundred yards last season. That was hands
down his worst season, hands down the worst he has
(02:23):
ever looked in his career. He also had a huge few,
huge few drugs for the KANCA Chiefs in this in
that Super Bowl run as well. Never really found his groove,
never never really seen the fit well in Kansas City. However,
when you look at the Baltimore Ravens, they found their
groove last season. The Baltimore Ravens are on cloud nine.
(02:44):
All eighteen weeks last NFL season, going into the wild
Card they were on cloud nine. They had the number
one ranked offensive two thousand and twenty four seventh rankeths
in passing, averaging two hundred and thirty seven point four
yards in the regular season, and their first in rushing
with one hundred and eighty seven point six per game
during the regular season. When you look at the Baltimore
Raves guys' receiver corps They're not that bad. Matter of fact,
(03:09):
I could put top potentially put them as a great
label on the Baltimore Ravens receiving corps. Jay Flowers clearly
that number one guy, clearly a top ten receiver in
the NFL, and he just gets better and better and better.
Jay Flowers is going to be a beast by the
time his career has peaked.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Right.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Rashad Bateman pretty damn good Number two had a hell
of a two thousand and and and twenty four as
a number two receiver, seven hundred and fifty six yards
with nine tutties. Now they still do have Mark Andrews
on the roster. There's a lot of trade rumors struggle
around him Mark Andrews right now. But as of right now,
Mark Andrews is still on the roster. He's still a dog.
(03:49):
Isaiah likely is still on the roster. He's still a dog.
Isaiah like he's going to be a beast. Guys, he
is going to be a beast. And then they have
a handful of guys that could be potentially number three
receivers on that Baltimore Ravens team, Tylan Wallace, Malie Cunningham, Walker,
Anthony Milder along with DeAndre Hopkins. So the question is, guys,
(04:11):
does the addition of DeAndre Hopkins make the Baltimore Ravens better.
I've been waffling around this all day. I waffled it
on the pre show with the Pigskin Pundents. I've been
waffling around in my head getting ready.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
For for for the show.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
I've been waffling as as like as I was writing
Nose for the show as well. Guys, I do like
the addition of DeAndre Hopkins to the Baltimore Ravens. Off
the field, He's a nice veteran leadership. He has the
football football IQ, and he does.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
All the things right.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
He's not beating his wives, he's not cheating, he's not
getting kids all over.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
He lives life correctly.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
But I'm not for sure if if he helps him
on the field, I'm not for sure. If dia Hop
is the missing part to get them to the Sea Championship,
I'm not for sure. If d Hop is the missing
part to get them to the Super Bowl. I'm not
for sure if d Hop helps them beat the Buffalo
Bills last season. Guys, truth, truth be told. I am
going to waffle around this answer. I know, we don't
(05:15):
waffle on on on on Man Hour. It's either yes
or no, it's no, maybe. But you know what, I'm
playing in the gray area because I like the additions
off the field that he adds, the veteran leadership, the
football IQ, the age, the doing things the right way.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Off the field.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's a great ad especially for Za Flowers that needs
that guidance, needs that father figure, brotherly figure, what whatever
you want to call it. But on the field, I
don't see him breaking a thousand yards ever again. On
the field, I probably don't even see him breaking five
hundred yards this this season. On the field, guys, it's
just I do not see big things happening for d
(05:55):
hop unfortunately. So with with like that, I do not
think DeAndre Hopkins makes the Baltimore Ravens better.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I might even go out on a limb.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
No, no, no, I am gonna go out on a
limb and say that he actually makes them worse. The
addition of Deandrew Hopkins makes the Baltimore Ravens worse on
the field, because that takes touches from Zay Flowers, that
takes touches from Derrick Henry, That takes touches from Isaiah Likely, Mike,
Mark Andrews, Rashad Bateman. Right, all those guys get better
(06:27):
with feeding them the ball. And I have a feeling
in the back of my head Lamar Jackson, especially first
four or five, six, seven weeks of the season, going
to try to force d Hop the ball. All of
a sudden, Zave Flowers starts getting mad, starts getting the
personal fouls. All of a sudden, Marketers like, hey, if
you forget about me, I can drop the ball in.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
The end zone. Two and then we're saving Derreck Henry
for the postseason.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
So, guys, what do you think does the addition of
d Howk make the Baltimore Ravens better on the field.
On the field, I'm saying no, off the field, yes,
So what do you goys think?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
What do you got? Think? What he got think?
Speaker 2 (07:08):
My man, James Frank says, we already know we'd taken
the North, meaning the Cleveland Browns. I was gaslighting you, James,
A guy, I going front, man, I was gas lighting
the hell out of you. The Browns suck. Let's just
be honest, but real, McCoy. My man's like like he
he is in the chat. D Hop is good, just.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Not a number one anymore.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Matter of fact, ever since he got traded from the Cars,
what two seasons ago, because it would be three seasons
ago now he spent two seasons and like in liking
Titans and then half of it whatever. But yeah, he
has not been a number one for quite a while.
I would say the last four years. Granted he has
had those thousand yard season right, his uh first year
(07:50):
in Tennessee he had what eleven hundred yards? Right, but
he definitely is not a number one receiver anymore. D
Hop is a possessive route running receiver, and when you
lose that step, it's it is. It is tough, right,
and I think his age definitely showed in the playoff
(08:11):
run with the with the Kansas City Chiefs. James James
James Frank says, I was about to say, don't forget
about Isaiah likely. Listen, Isaiah likely is a top five
tight end and the like in the league. My man,
Isaiah likely is up there. Isaiah likely is going to
be a dog. I love it, I love it, I
love it, And James says, read my whole comment. Okay, James,
(08:33):
my bad, My bad, buddy, my my, my bad. James
Frank says, we already know that we take the North
North again, meaning the Cleveland Browns. We shall see if
they can do anything in the playoffs. I think Hopkins
makes them better. He'll Blowster the he'll he will Blowster
the locker room and take Flowers and teach him to
make Flowers even better. So James, I, so we are
(08:56):
on the same page. Off the field, d Hof's a great,
great addition veteran leadership, know how to study, know how
to do things the right right way. And honestly, was
a Zay Flowers rookie season when the Ravens and the
Chiefs played in the ASC Championship game and Zay Flowers
shoved somebody I don't remember who was, was it Trent
(09:17):
Trent McDuffie shoved him fifteen yard penalty basically cost him
the game because they were driving, they were looking good.
All of a sudden boof flag they gone right, they gon't.
But yeah, definitely, teaching Jay Flowers how to do things
the right way? Is that what d hop is there for?
I think so an old man Rivers says, well, first
(09:39):
of all, man was the picks input pig skin get
you so everything that it picks him. Punty guys, take
with the grain of salt. That's all I'm saying. Take
it with the grain of salt. Because old man Rivers
a little off his rocker. Let's just be flat and honest.
Old Man Rivers sitting over there, he is drinking a Budweiser.
He's probably got a Marble red in his hand, maybe
even a Wiston Winston because you know he is old school, right,
(10:01):
he needs those nice big drags.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
And he says he says, hell, hell he is brother.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
He says, hell, yes, d Hop will get a thousand
yards this season, Old Man River, Slow down, Baby, Slow
went down baby. I don't think there's ever been a
number three, a number four receiver on any team that's
ever gotten a thousand yards. A true number three, number
four receiver on a team is not getting a thousand yards.
(10:35):
If the number three, number four guy is getting a
thousand yards, that means the number two is getting like
thirteen to fourteen hundred. That means the number one guys
damn near breaking two two thousand yards. And we know
we've never had a receiver break two thousand yards. Tyreek
Hill was close, but no cigar.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Right. But if that is the case, if d Hop has.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Spurts of himself from first year at ten to see
gets that thousand yards, okay, maybe he does help the Ravens,
but I don't think he does.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Old Man River pig skin get you says that spreads
the ball around, meaning balance.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
No, old Man River, you see, No matter what the
Baltimore Ravens do, no matter what they do, they can
bring in three or four elite receivers. They can bring
Derrick Henry in five years ago, Derek, Derek, Derek carry right.
Lamar Jackson is still going to eat. Lamar Jackson is
(11:39):
still going to be the centerfold of that offense, rushing
the ball, quick little passes. That is it. He is
not going to spread the ball ball around. De Hot
doesn't mean more balance. The only thing de Hot does
is just take the ball out of Jflower's hand a
little bit more, takes the ball out of Lamar Jackson's
handle to Ache a little bit more, takes the ball
out of Derek Henry's handle a little bit more, and
(12:01):
then all of a sudden they're not very good. All
of a sudden they're a nine to eighteen ten and
ten and seven. D Hop hurts the Ravens. I think, guys,
I'm just like, I'm just saying James Frank says, nah,
they as in the Ravens. Oh, James is saying, Hey,
the Ravens are, but in the North. I'm like, slow
it down, baby, James, slow it down. We'll be talking
about it in over owners to slow it down. Wbn's
(12:23):
the chat.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
He is a Ravens fan. He's a two year anniversary.
As followed, what's up? W b am? He says, what's up?
How have y'all been? Dog?
Speaker 2 (12:29):
We've been good. We've been good. We've been talking about
your Ravens for the last twenty five minutes. We've been
talking about how bad d Hop is going to make
the Baltimore Ravens. We've been talking about how great Lamar
Jackson is. We've been talking about sixty nine. I'm joking No.
Sixty nine to day No sixty nine to Day No
(12:49):
sixty nine jokes Buck. We are we are past that.
We are past at sixty nine books.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
But no, guys, the question is, does DeAndre Hopkins make
the Baltimore Ravens better in twenty twenty five. I'm saying
off the field, yes, on the field no, I think
it makes them worse now if you want to look
beyond this twenty twenty sixth season, twenty twenty seven, twenty
eight off the field stuff bringing Zay Flowers along, making
(13:19):
them into a man, a mature man, right then, definitely
better on the field.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
But I think for the pre.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Term, right now, what's right in front of us, twenty
twenty five, they will be down this season. WBN says,
haven't been on here like in a while. Man, man
working two jobs. I feel your, brother, I feel you.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Man.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Life is tough out there. It's hard out there for
a pimp. I'm just saying, but I feel you. I'm
working for jobs, right. I got my real job, I
got man our coaching, I got scouting, plus raising two
damn kids and a dog. I feel you, brother. It's tough,
but I'm glad you are here. Man, I'm glad you're here.
(14:04):
Kick those feet up, man, have a beer, you know,
do which you guys do. Enjoy some of the NFL talk,
Brother James,
