Alex Jarrin nació en Cali y, tres años después, se trasladó a Zúrich con su madre, quien recientemente se había casado con un suizo que recorría Suramérica. Alex se integró por completo a su nuevo entorno: aprendió el idioma rápidamente y sus días transcurrían entre estudiar y practicar hockey sobre hielo. Aunque nunca antes había mostrado interés por Colombia, paradójicamente organizó su primer viaje al país motivado por los comentarios de sus amigos suizos, que se sentían atraídos por la cultura, los paisajes y la gente. Cuatro semanas de vacaciones en Colombia fueron suficientes para que Alex se fascinara con el país y decidiera regresar para emprender un proyecto que lo mantuviera conectado con sus raíces.
Así nació Rango, su hostal en Medellín, un espacio que le permite recibir con calidez a viajeros de todo el mundo interesados en explorar esta región.
