about eight fifteen remaining on the play clock, on the
game clock until teams are getting such we're getting ready
on out on the field. We're getting set and ready
for the Lower Day Classic here for the perviat and
Panthers and the Texas Southern Tigers. I am Philip Prince

for a month for football and this that it's your
first time coming activated into a new environment. So you're
just trying to get your foot and get the store
ready to.

Got a good turnout here even though the weather kept
close people the way. You still have a good turnout

They want to start off with discipline, building a coach
of countability, focus and structure. They want to try and
minimize on their penalties and mistakes. You know, especially coming

aren't trying to be as perfect as possible, or especially
coming into a new environment trying to build a new
system going on.

Thing when you want to try to eliminate penalties, you
don't want to have big plays called man the other
big things. You don't want free smath penalties because that's

are the ones that will carrying you.

mean a lot throughout the Panther program.

when you're paying attention to you as you haven't seen

point of view for the Texas Southern Tigers Keith game work,
coach this man and this why they want to strict
and even one of our the meals, even the strong
detail matter. So how can you refer to that?

Well, one of the things, you know, when I went.

To watch some practice, a lot of times they were
talking about from the neck up, and that's mentally being strong.

And not being yourself. If you go back and look
at some of the games that they lost over the

more as opposed to somebody just treating you when they
want to get away from there. Some coaches say Texas
Southern will give you a game or fix the Southern
gonna do what Texa Southern are gonna do and now win.
So if they can stop from beating themselves, if that's

Winning, don't beat yourself.

Like you just said, play cleave that he that you
know already amongst the.

So you want to try and start this year off,

the being the most penalized team.

executing your you know, without has to chase it, and
just making a dead football smart decision.

How much can you touch your players?

You know, well, that's the biggest thing in the game.

Like this, you know it's gonna be some big way
that's gonna be made.

You know who your playmakers are.

The other thing is hopefully you can get a big
play from somebody that you sort of don't expect, or
maybe even in a special teams game, maybe get a
block punt or a bad snap or something like that
where you can get a big play to get you started,
especially if you're struggling. But and like I said, I
think it's gonna be some real big plays made by
both teams.

I think it may. I'm looking forward to seeing maybe
a kickoff return or part return or the.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Special teams game can be very crucial because you got
a lot of guys that this may be their first
time being on the field. You got a lot of
guys that may have played something last year that now
they getting a chance to play a lot.

And they still have to play special teams.

So hopefully both teams can take advantage of it and
make big plays in the kicking game.

out or the Top over the Texas Southern by score
forty to seventeen, and then twenty twenty two Toby and
the Top Southern by score first to get twenty three.

one against Texas Southern and over time by a score
of thirty seven and thirty four. Then that was actually
the first eighteenth Labor Day Classic history back in twenty

Got a good turnout here even though the weather kept

They want to start off with discipline, building a coach
of countability, focus and structure. They want to try and
minimize on their penalties and mistakes. You know, especially coming

coming into a new environment trying to build a new

Thing when you want to try to eliminate penalties, you
don't want to have big plays called man the other
big things. You don't want free smath penalties because that's

are the ones that will carrying you.

But you don't want big players call back and you

when you're paying attention to you as you haven't seen

go back and see where guys were before and formate

point of view for the Texas Southern Tigers Keith game work,
coach this man and this why they want to strict
and even one of our the meals, even the strong
detail matter. So how can you refer to that?

Well, one of the things, you know, when I went.

To watch some practice, a lot of times they were
talking about from the neck up, and that's mentally being strong.

And not being yourself. If you go back and look
at some of the games that they lost over the
last upper.

Ends, a lot of it has been big self inflicted
more as opposed to somebody just treating you when they
want to get away from there. Some coaches say Texas
Southern will give you a game or fix the Southern
gonna do what Texa Southern are gonna do and now win.
So if they can stop from beating themselves, if that's
a very big part of.

Winning, don't beat yourself.

Like you just said, play cleave that he that you
know already amongst the.

Most penaliance in a slack.

So you want to try and start this year off,
you know, at least at least speak though you know,
the being the most penalized team.

In behind you, you know, because like I said.

If you count on one end, you know.

There the biggest part, like you said, if you cannot
beat yourself, you have a good chance of winning.

goes to the football IQ. You know, knowing your roles,
executing your you know, without has to chase it, and
just making a dead football smart decision.

How much can you touch your players?

You know, well, that's the biggest thing in the game.

Like this, you know it's gonna be some big way

You know who your playmakers are.

The other thing is hopefully you can get a big
play from somebody that you sort of don't expect, or
maybe even in a special teams game, maybe get a
block punt or a bad snap or something like that
where you can get a big play to get you started,
especially if you're struggling. But and like I said, I
think it's gonna be some real big plays made by
both teams.

I think it may. I'm looking forward to seeing maybe
a kickoff return or part return or the.

Special teams game can be very crucial because you got
a lot of guys that this may be their first
time being on the field. You got a lot of
guys that may have played something last year that now

And they still have to play special teams.

So hopefully both teams can take advantage of it and
make big plays in the kicking game.
