and as Edward as a gambler, Johnson may have cost
him a fortune by winning. So what so? There's still
another possibility Hollister himself. Maybe he made a deal with
Johnson for the champ to let him win the fight,

and Johnson double crossed him.

Inspector Paraday and his one crack mind. I heard the

at his apop and you killed him, and you killed
your manager for the same reason. He saw that Bob
hadn't hit you hard enough to knock you down. He
bet everything he had on you, and he wanted to
cut of your winnings, so he'd got to the boxing
commission too.

I know a lot of fighters, Carolyn, and they're all clean,
living kids. It's a good thing for the game that
there aren't many characters like Hollister and Johnson. Say what
swung you to Hollister as the murderer, Blankie? The fact

that you'd just come from seeing Edwards. Beckley had been
dead for only a few minutes, so Edwards couldn't possibly
have killed him. You see, I was sure Johnson and
Beckley were killed by the same man for the same reason.
Speaker 8 (24:47):
Well, from now on, Blackie, I'm certainly gonna believe it
when I hear that you solve most of the police
cases in this town.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
He solves them. Whatever gave anybody that idea.

works on.
