Speaker 1 (00:07):
Have you ever wondered what was out there in the
night sky, stared up at the stars in the hopes
of seeing something out of the ordinary. Have you heard
unexplainable noises coming from a vacant room or washed the
shadow across the wall in front of you. Have you
asked yourself if there is life after this one or
if you had life before? What about strange creatures that

(00:28):
are mythical and elusive? Have you experienced dejovu or felt
a prompting to leave because you felt you were in danger.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
If you have, you were on the fringe.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Welcome to another episode of On the Fringe. I'm Mark,
I'm Philip.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
I'm Pam, and I'm Jess.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
I'm ins great.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Well, well tonight, folks. We are here to discuss this
weekend's Border Town para con in Knie, Kansas and all
of the fun that we had and whatever else happens
to come up. We might we might talk Jess into

(01:36):
playing the notebook game for a little while. I have
to speak talker, but we're gonna try.

Speaker 6 (01:45):
I'd have to go and get like a ship ton
of like notebook.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yeah, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
It's also International Podcast Day, yeah, kay, International Podcast.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Day, Happy podcast Day.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
Yeah, and there you go, vain and happy October Eve
it is and so is well dressed for the okay.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Season to get.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Looking handsome, looking handsome.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Taking my hover share through the spooky forest.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
It looks like you're in a hover chair in the forest.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
You like, that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
In there. And that was what are we doing? He said,
you had a good lecture for there, Thank you. So
I had a lot of people watching online, both on
the Facebook, uhy and on uh YouTube. Remember to comment
and share and get it out to everybody so everybody

(03:03):
can enjoy it. That being said, it was just a
good day. I was unfortunately only able to be there
half a day, but the half a day I was there,
it was fantastic. So uh We had cryptid specialists, we
had ufoologists, we had ghost unners, we had authors and psychics,

(03:31):
personal a bunch of I'm not sure that there might
have been as many podcast personalities as there was the public.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I'm not sure there was quite a few of us there.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, I can think at least eight or ten.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yeah, well, all of them up? Was there? All of
the friends was there? All of Bordertown? Strange was there,
and then Robert Provo was there. Sew was there, Yeah,
Jason Roberts, Roberts. Yeah, So there was a bunch of
us there.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
There was a bunch of us there. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Yeah, the Red Dirt Crypti guys.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Oh yeah, shoot.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Lisa Martin, dark Os.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Arks, Yeah, Lisa and Alex were there.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
Yeah, and those crazy on the fringe What Up Tomorrow?
And you know, Bordertown strange people are so weird, but.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
I kind of like they're a little little little odd
and if you can't tell we're not as animated as usual,
I think we're all just a little exhausted.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yeah, and I'm very proud of myself. I only spent
fifty or sixty dollars on books.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Oh that's not bad.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
It's just a bit more than that.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, I was trying to budget myself. Had I been
there all day, I probably would have bought all of them.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I yeah, I spent I've spent some money on books
too and help it.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Plus, I hope they were good and they were having
good deals on them.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Oh yeah, especially for like signed copies.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Yeah, there were phil There were a bunch of vendors there.
There's a lot of neat stuff.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
We had because I walked in late, you know, because
I had a I had a soccer game sat you
know that morning.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
And you guys won, Is that right?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
And yeah I couldn't. We did We did four nothing.

Speaker 7 (05:30):
Yeah, but yeah, I mean I was blown away just
by the number of vendors, you know, because last year
we had just a couple m This year they were everywhere.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, we had for two more roads and that was it.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah. I was like, man, you guys a gonna have
to upgrade the venue before long.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
That.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I think it's just about right. We get up to
about two hundred and fifty people and and fill those
last two rows of vendors, it's going to be a
hell of a indy mm hmm. Soe uh.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
I was actually expecting a slightly less uh crowd size
because the economy is not so great right now and
gas is kind of expensive to go cross country to
go visit your favorite paricn But numbers wise, I think
we were even, if not a tad higher. I think

(06:29):
that we were.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
Yeah, yeah, we were a little higher. And we're free,
so we're a free we're a budget friendly con that
makes us sound cheap. Does that make it.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
The Para Con six sounds pretty good.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Yeah, And so, like we had, we had a few
issues at the door and getting counts made correctly. The
last that I counted, we were right around one point fifty,
but it's we know for certain there was more than that.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Now how much more and for over an hour?

Speaker 6 (07:11):
So yeah, so I mean there could be an extra
ten twenty maybe even more that should be on there.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
So, and I know that that happened in the afternoon,
and that's when it really picked up for us, of course,
because Christy Campbell was doing her floor reading, and that's
how it always is. I don't know if it's like
that at other cons, but usually after lunch hits that's
when it really picks up.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
So well, we get a lot of that come and
go traffic anyway, that's just where we're at. So people come,
they leave, and they come back, and so there's always
about the same amount of people there, but you get
to looking they're different people than there were.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yes, exactly. Yeah, I did notice that a lot, and
there were a lot of new faces from what we
had last year, and I thought that was really cool too.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yep, right, And I think the only thing holding us
back from really growing is probably getting the word out.
We've just got to probably start sooner with trying to
get the word out. I guess like maybe today.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
Yeah, well, get on it, sir, that's your new job.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I've got ideas.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Because these checks need some sleep.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Man.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
I don't need any more jobs in my lap. I
just need a break.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
I will already budgeting out technology upgrades so that we
don't have technology problems this next year. Yay.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Oh, and I found the info that I needed for
what we were discussing mark, so I can. I'll try
to get those upgraded and see if they will work,
and if they do, we may be ahead of the game.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
And I've got one here that I can upgrade. I'm
going to upgrade this week to Windows eleven, so.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
It would not hurt us a bit to have at
least a backup apiece for each of them. So no,
if we can do it.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
I think even with the issues that we had this year,
we were able to navigate our way through and rectify
it rather quickly.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I felt well, except for the fact that Pam and
I both forgot to rett a computer and we had
all of pulling what little hair I had left out
of I'm.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Surprised I have hair left.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
And you tried to turning it off and on it
one one, it one on one right exactly.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Well, we started working on it mark what about eight
o'clock and seven thirty somewhere in there. It was early,
and it was like we were within like six minutes,
four to six minutes before the whole thing started, Yeah,
before it worked, and I just went after we got
it run and I was like, I'm gonna I'm gonna

(09:57):
go take a break for a minute, had a mild
panic attack.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Speaking of technology, we should totally like put a shout
out to Bargain Center and Independence for God allowing us
to use of that jumbo screen TV for the day.
So if you didn't get yeah, if you didn't get
to come to the con, you should get up and
check out the panels that were recorded because we had

(10:26):
this fabulous big screen TV that we got to do
the presentations on and ran the ads for everyone all
day long, and it just looked so nice and professional
up there, crystal clear beautiful. And they also gave us
tons of giveaways, and we did whole bags of giveaways

(10:47):
all day long. We did quizzes and gave away big,
huge bags of bargain center merchandise and ever so thankful
for them. I'm hoping that they will afford us that
again next year.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
One of the funniest parts of the day. One of
the funniest parts of the day was when Jess would say, Okay,
here's the next question, and the first person don't shout
it out, you need to run over there to this table,
and the first one there with the right answer wins.
And she would say the question and people would be
just like, take it off. And one of the answers

(11:20):
was chupacabra, and I can't remember how did that go?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
What on did she say?

Speaker 6 (11:24):
So it just so happened that my daughter Raven was
heading up the table at that time, and I went
over to make sure that, you know, they had given
the correct answer, and the bag had gone out like
it was, and she was laughing so hard, and I
was like, what's wrong, And she goes The lady who
came with the answer couldn't remember how to pronounce chupacabra,

(11:46):
and she said it something like coopa chabray or something
like that, or coop a hoopa or something like that.
And she she said it like four times trying to
get it out, and she said she said it differently
every time. It was like and he took mercy on
her and it was like, you got it. It's chupacabra.

(12:09):
And this lady was like, that's it.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Oh, I love it.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
He's got some pictures from the cookout.

Speaker 6 (12:18):
If you guys, absolutely send them our way. And we're
in the process now, like any of you at home
that if you if you went to the con and
you got some great pictures or some funny pictures, send
them our way because we're gonna start compiling a big
album that we'll release so everybody can see just all
the fun that we have throughout the day. I have

(12:41):
some candid photos and we're just gonna put them all
together and let everybody see the con went.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
I know Ken, but my phone broke now and I
know Ken put some up on Facebook too.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
He did, did, Yeah, yeah, I know.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
I posted the one that I have too, So yeah,
it was it was great. It was Every year just
gets better and better.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Including our videos. If you go online to YouTube or
our Facebook page, the videos turned out a lot better
audio quality this year, so you'll be able to actually
hear what everybody's saying as opposed to years past where
the mic just wasn't up to snuff. So we did

(13:28):
make some improvements there and we'll continue to make improvements
over the years. I want to see this become an
event that's talked about all over the Fort State area.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
We had people come. One of our presenters, he was
from Pocahontas, Arkansas, which is about six six and a
half hours away. And then Ken Rawmeller, he's from Saint Louis, Missouri.
He's about six hours away. And then like Adrian and Tina,
they're from Fort Smith, Arkansas. They're about three three and
a half hours. So there was people that were putting
in some serious travel time to get here.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
We had people come come down.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
From that's when he went to the chair. Those of
you who are watching or listening. So because we have
so many that come in from far away, and we

(14:28):
don't pay, we do not pay our speakers to come
in because this is really like a This is like
a retreat or a networking day for all of us
with the public invited as the afterthought. So we don't
pay them, we don't fly them in, we don't schlep
them around and give them fancy hotel rooms and stuff.
They kind of do this on their own dime, so
to afford them something fun to do for the evening

(14:50):
before when they've had to come in and get hotel rooms.
Phil is nice enough. He's he hosts a big, huge
cookout and barbecue kind of thing out of his house
with a campfire, and we all just sit around and
eat fantastic food, and we visit and we tell spooky
stories and funny stories from our investigations or our field investigations,

(15:14):
and new speakers get to know old speakers and vice versa,
and we just have a fantastic time. And then we
get to watch, you know, Phil's sun thrill fall through
an old chair.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
We all hear.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Exactly what happened, like, oh, darted like that for the
rest of the night.

Speaker 6 (15:41):
Lewie ken to get some good pictures. Yeah, it's just
a it's just a fun way for us to all
get to know each other, which is good because we
throw these people from varying fields in on these panels
together where they're going to have to debate, and it's
always better when you go in already knowing the person

(16:01):
a little bit, So we don't want fights to break out.
You know that happens sometimes, so healthy debate starts with
a little bit of friendship underneath of it. So we
get everybody together and you know, give them a little
bit of alcohol and fantastic smoke. Chicken.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
That chicken made that corn dish, but I want to
find out who it is and get the recipe. It
was amazing. I may have hurt myself eating a third.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
He what kind of bowl would you remember it was?
Was it green? I made that?

Speaker 3 (16:39):
You made that?

Speaker 5 (16:40):
You don't know what.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
I didn't know if there was another corn dish there
and I call it a cucumber salad. So but it
does have sweet corn in it. Pam, Yeah, I'll get
you the rest of You know, your other sister setting.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
She's my other favorite need chair that's on his way
out and need to break it down. Let him know.

Speaker 6 (17:08):
If anything, he was the comic relief that night.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
So yeah, LEVI said the one that he likes.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Oh okay, yeah, I think it was because we had
a bunch of leftovers, and since he's single and a bachelor,
we sent a bunch with him.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Perfect.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I had a big pan of chicken leftover we ran
out last year, and I hadn't made too much this year,
but that's all right.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
I ate like so three batches of it.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
I sent him a bunch.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Good chickens.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
The bomb man, you've got the chicken down.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Can cook, That's that's true, can cook, Philip Nice restaurant
and bar mm hmm.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
Those in those photos. We were supposed to have a
little Star Watch party thing. It was cloudy and crappy
for the whole time. So it's like that, I'll just
leave my gear in the trunk.

Speaker 6 (18:05):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
The weather it was next year, it's beautiful.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Temperature was perfect, Oh yeah, beautiful, beautiful.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
That breeze underneath those big old trees, those old trees
out there, it was perfect. So darn the clouds though,
But we'll we'll have Enzo do that next year. It
will most certainly be clear next year, I can feel it.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Yes, you're focused on a year in advance. And speaking
of a year in advance, next year, the par con
should be on the twenty seventh, Yes.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
Yes, September. Yep, we've already got the rec center rented
for that day. It's ours already soooo awesome.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Didn't waste any time, folks.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Put on Chris, Well, I didn't put off the because
everything was hyped up to be Oh it always is.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Yeah, I didn't get show year.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Well, I didn't do a star show this year. I
did linger around after the show yesterday to make sure
the person that won the UFO raffle knew how to
use the plain a sphere that I had donated. They
were like, I have no idea what this is. I
showed them real quick how it worked, and they were like,
this is cool. I'm gonna use this right now right outside.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Speaking of astronomical events, everybody in this part of the country,
on October twelfth, if you go out at sun rise
and look to the west on the horizon, you should
be able to see the comment that everybody's talking about.
It only comes around every eighty seven thousand years. Oh

(19:47):
so it is literally a once in a lifetime event,
even if you were a vampire, because I don't even
think vampires live that long.

Speaker 6 (19:57):
Chris Mark couldn't be there because his son got married.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Yep, and I told his beautiful wife on the way
out from the ceremony, he's yours now. No takebacks. You
broke them. Your body there you go.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
That's awesome.

Speaker 6 (20:28):
All right, So let's let's talk about some of the
stuff that went on Jackie.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Oh yeah that con.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
So the presentations this year were fantastic. Jeff Provine did
his ghost Children, and of course that's always super spooky.
How can a ghost kid not creep you the heck out?
And he is such a hoot Anyway, I don't know
if you guys saw did you see the post he

(20:56):
did earlier about they found a huge fear ring on
the OU campus and showed him and there's a bench
in the middle of it, and he said something to
the effect that, well, whoever sat down on that bench
just got sucked off to the fae and now they're paying.
They're paying their penance over there in strange riddles.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
How funny.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
Yeah, he posted a picture of it. Was so funny.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
My niece came to the con with us and she
was absolutely enraptured with Jeff's present.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Wow, it was good.

Speaker 6 (21:29):
Yeah, he's super interesting. He's just an interesting interesting kid. Oh,
I say kid, he's he's a he's a he's an
English professor.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
College Old box Fillow. I think I bought four of his.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Books yesterday.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
He's got some good title.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
I would not have paid my house payment, it wouldn't happen.

Speaker 6 (21:55):
Yeah, he's got so many fantastic books. And for those
of you at home who are in if you go
to Jeffprovine dot com, you can get all of his
books on there and he will actually sign them for you.
If you order through Jeff Provine dot com instead of Amazon,
just request it and he will sign the cred out
of those if you would like. He he loves doing that.

(22:16):
That's another great thing about Come to the con is is.
I think we had four or five authors there this year,
and they will all quite willingly sit there at chit
chat with you about their books and sign them for
you or dedicate them to someone. They're all just wonderful people.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
The fantastic Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
And then we had Ken roll Maller who did Boneyards
and all the cemetery lore, and of course people love
that because who doesn't love creepy cemetary stuff. And Ken
and his horrible dad jokes just kind of tops it off.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Horrible. I'm stealing half of them so well, I guess
that means they are. I've never met a dad joke.
I didn't like, what were you saying?

Speaker 6 (23:00):
Zo?

Speaker 5 (23:03):
There were so many times it's like I just want
to push my little button.

Speaker 6 (23:08):
Yeah, oh it was terrible. Yeah, a lot of growth.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah, those were the good ones.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
Yeah. And then of course Christy Campbell's Uh, she's always
a star. She's just so interesting. Everything she has to say,
there's just such an interesting aspect to it. You can't
help but just kind of hang on every word she says.
And she also did something very special for this year.
She did an open floor reading for half an hour,

(23:42):
absolutely for free, and it was fantastic. In fact, that
was one of our largest presentations of the day. We
had people that came in just for that part.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I watched it on YouTube day in fact, so so.
And that's the great thing about it. All of our
presentations and all of our panels are up on the
YouTube channel and you can get on there and watch
them like share ring that bell, but you can you too,

(24:17):
can enjoy the Para Con from wherever you're at.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
So I restreamed to my Facebook page and we've got
some people over there. Adrian's over there watching. He was
he was one of our He was our head moderator
for the ghost panel and he is saying the cookout
is the best. So he was really enjoying that jail.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
He did an excellent job with his panel, by the
way he did.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
He did really good. And then there's Karen, which she
watches a lot of our other stuff too. She's in there,
and who else Robin Culley Howe's in there. Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
Everybody, Hi, everybody.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
So the great thing about Christy finally this is the
first time she's gotten to do a presentation with us
and then tack that on there her she's always she's
usually out in the hallway. She's one of our regular readers.
You can go out and have her do readings for
you and she does holistic or not holistic. She does
quantum healing readings and things like that. And she said

(25:29):
she actually doubled her business this year because it garnered
such interest. After she was done, I saw her, I
think right in the middle of the last panel. She
was coming in from a break getting some fresh air,
and that girl was wiped out. She had been rocking
it hard all day.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
She was exhausted by the time they left.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
And she does really good work. She did a healing
for me on my knee a few months back, and
I noticed a difference, you know the next day, So
that's great.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
It looked like she was doing more healing than she
was reading.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
I was going to say, every almost every time I
would pass through that entryway area where she was at,
there was always someone laying on the table there doing
some getting some work done.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
That's cool. That's going to take a lot out of
you too.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
Yeah, she is an amazing young lady.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
And the great the great thing is is that she
because she got so busy, it kind of garnered a
little bit more extra business for our tarror reader and
for our astrologists because everyone was so interested in kind
of doing all of those things. It also gave them
something else to do kind of while they were waiting
for Christy too. So everybody out there made just a killing.

(26:45):
So Rachel Patton had independence who graciously took over for
Lindsay Miles, our usual Taro reader. Lindsay was unable to
make it this year and felt horrible about it, but
Rachel stepped right in to make sure that we had
a Tara reader. So that was great. And then this
year we got really lucky. One of our usual panelists,

(27:08):
Clinton Hancock, out of enid Oh the Opis team. His
sister just happened to be in from Nora, Orleans to
visit family, and she is a professional astrologer, and he
had felt badly that he was going to miss out
visiting with her for a couple of days. And he
was like, hey, Sis, you know I go to this
con every year and I'm just not going to be

(27:30):
here on these couple of days. I can't miss it.
And she was like, well, can I tag along? And
he was like, well, I don't see why not. And
he called me and said, hey, would you all like
an astrologer? And I was like, you betcha bring her along.
So she was actually Denise Hancock. She was wonderful and
she actually really enjoyed it. She does most of her

(27:53):
things professionally online or Collins. She very rarely does festivals,
but she told me that when she does do festivals
there of course the large ones or the large cons
and things like that, and she's like, I'm I'm lucky
if I get about eight readings a day. She did
that plus more at ours.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
And I missed out. If I had had a little
more time, I was going to stop in for a reading,
but I just ran out of time.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
That's so cool.

Speaker 6 (28:22):
So for her, we outdid the big places that she
goes to. She goes, I don't I don't much care
doing them, but she goes here. I felt like I
got like more one on one time. It was a
lot more personable, and she goes, I actually got a
little bit more business than I do at the big ones.
So cool even.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
That is absolutely cool.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Kens in the other chat and he said to say,
a great para Conan show, So yay, thank you kay.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
Yeah. So moving on, so we were on the presentations.
So this year we were lucky enough to have Jim
Gray come in, and I'm sure everybody was heard us
talk about Jim. He is he is a gym.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
He is Jim is a gem. You're right, he is.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
UFO cowboy supreme.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
He is the best.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
He's a real cowboy too. I mean people, he dresses
really cool. That's just him. That's how that's working. Cloth.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Yeah. Oh, Ken said that he got readings from all
three and they were all with similar results. So that's interesting.

Speaker 6 (29:33):
Oh yeah, well that's good. If there were all similar results,
that means there, you know, on the up and up there,
not that we wouldn't have anybody up and up.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
I didn't get it. I didn't get reading this year,
but I did last year. I had the Tarot and
the Christie huh and they were really similar. And then
just your mom paid for my past life experience, my
past life and all that, which which it was cool.
I mean we had when she was on with this,
we had her kind of run down it, but it

(30:04):
was actually pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
Yeah, it's so much fun. I haven't done it yet.
I'm so afraid they're going to tell me something I
don't want to hear. So Plus, I'm always so busy.
I'm usually just a streak with a clipboard, so I
don't get a lot of time to do that.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
I know had her past life red and she said
it was it was really really wild, really cool.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
I probably find out something really interesting, like you're a
sheep farmer will date you.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
So I had kind of both, you know. One one life,
I guess I was a gladiator, you know, oh nice.
In another life I was a farmer, you know. So it.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Was so cool.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
Chelsea, ives are you the one that I spoke to
at the con? Let me know?

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Yeah, didn't Phil, didn't they? She say? Last year something
about you and Andrew. Yeah, we're had past lives together too.
That you met. That is so neat. I love that.
That is awesome.

Speaker 6 (31:10):
She had to put you had another life.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
More than it sounded like.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
She must have bad karma or something.

Speaker 6 (31:19):
Oh, I think she's that good karma, especially if you
were making her smoked chicken.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
Right, that's what it is. It's your smoked chicken.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
It is right.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
There's smoked chicken in any lifetime.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Smoked chicken, not drugs. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
I started smoking at like eight o'clock that morning, and
know that last batch of chicken, I don't know, it
was like six thirty or seven o'clock.

Speaker 5 (31:46):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (31:48):
We appreciate all the work you put it having us
out there. I know it can't be easy to have
all of a sudden, like thirty five plus people pile
in on your property like that.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
So it's not really I think next year, I'm going
to a little pasture by my driveway. I want to
mow it down really nice and stack up a bunch
of brush and just have a big bonfire.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
Oh ah, it was her, Yeah, Chelsea. So Chelsea stopped
and chit chatted with me because she's been catching border
town strange and stuff, and it's somehow jealous of my notebooks.
And I told her, I was like, Sweedie, do not
start down that horrible road. Don't do it yourself notebooks

(32:34):
and going insane. So no, I totally appreciate it. Yeah,
I told her. I was like, just grab a notebook
and just start, you know, writing down what's important to
you or what you you know, what you're wanting to
research and you know, make you know, bullet points and stuff,
and just get started. And I was like, and please,
don't do what I did and just compile whatever is

(32:56):
in front of you into one notebook, because then you
have to start tagging it. And right on I was
like don't. I was like, actually, don't start at all.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Just you need to teach Phil and I how to
do that because we're terrible.

Speaker 6 (33:14):
My gosh, I've started something Google.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Drives, my friend, I have everything stuffed in a Google drive.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
I try to go off memory or I have it
up on the computer.

Speaker 6 (33:30):
I was gonna say. My thing is is that I
always want to circle back because I always find that
I'll be researching something new and realized that something I've
already researched is very pertinent to this topic. So I
want to be able to go back and hit that
old stuff. And it's just an ever evolving mess. So

(33:50):
if I were suggest anything, it would be not to
do it. Just fly by the seat of your pants
and don't end up, you know, like to your now
in notebooks everywhere. I I don't remember who I was
talking to, but oh, I think it was Zo. I
was talking to that My poor kid was going to
be the one that's going to have to get rid
of all these when I die.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Yeah, the government is going to come take them like
they did, That's.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
What I said. No, they're going to go in a museum.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Man, yea, I know.

Speaker 6 (34:22):
I just said, pile them up on a boat and
put me on top of it, said a flaming arrow.
Turn it into a funeral up the cruise ship.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Dear.

Speaker 5 (34:37):
There's too many to there's too many for the landfill,
so they would have to do something like that.

Speaker 6 (34:44):
AnyWho. Oh my gosh. Yeah, it was wonderful meeting you, Chelsea,
and we hope to see you again soon. And stay
on the chats and come into Bordertown Strange and stuff
and hang out with us. You'll learn just how kooky
we all are. Yeah, definitely, who's joining?

Speaker 5 (35:01):
Oh yeah, and never be afraid to walk up to
anybody there at the para con and just start chatting away.
If you've seen him on.

Speaker 6 (35:09):
Yes, Lord knows Corenzo had to run in with someone.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
Yeah, I had a friend for she's in the chats
on a different show and she lives up in Northeast Kansas.
She's like, I don't think i'll be able to make it,
and maybe my daughter will bring me down or whatever.
And then I get a text or you know, through messenger,
I guess from her. Oh, you were really busy and
we couldn't stay that long, so I saw you though.

(35:39):
I saw you get that award thing, but you were
talking to everybody and I didn't want to interrupt, so
but but then we had to go, So i'll catch
you next year. It's like you were right here. You
didn't say.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Something started.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
You guys. Yeah, and don't ever be afraid to come
up to us, because it's a thrill for.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Us to get it's my favorite part.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
We're amazed anyone wants to know us at all, so
you'll make our day.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
To me, it's pretty cool when somebody says hey, I
watch your show or listen to your show or whatever,
because it puts it. Yeah, it's not an arrogance thing.
It's an appreciation thing, you know. I mean, hey, you know,
so I'm reaching that one person and I put a
face to it, and you appreciate that because you know,

(36:28):
you're they're giving you their time, whether it's driving down
the road or whether it's catching alive or whatever. And
I think it's awesome to be able to meet people
that listen to our shows.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
It is.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
And and to hear, you know that people are actually
listening to our shows and we aren't just talking to ourselves,
because a lot of times you do kind of feel
like maybe you are. But to hear them come up
and say, you know, I've been binging your show and
it's great, that's huge. That that is Yeah, that makes
you feel like what you're doing is is actually something

(37:00):
of substance, you know.

Speaker 6 (37:05):
Chelsea said, I'll definitely do my best to attend these lives.
Pericn was phenomenal and I'll definitely attend the Please do
and you know, come hang out with us a little bit.
We'll chit chat with you and stuff. I'm sorry, I was.
I couldn't stay with her for very long because I
was getting ready to go and start a new panel,
so I couldn't talk for very long. And uh, in fact,

(37:27):
I believe that Lisa and uh, Lisa Martin and her
son Alex were getting ready to head out. They couldn't
stay for the entire con, so I was trying to
say goodbye to them too at the same time. Well,
and they said that they had a blast. They were

(37:47):
so yeah. Last year, Lisa was so upset she could
she was supposed to be there and then at the
last minute. She runs the Kendrick House in Missouri over
by Carthage. Fantastic place. If you ever want to go
check out a truly haunted place with some fantastic like
history to it, check out the Kendrick House. And it

(38:10):
just so happens that the group that helps run those
haunted tours and stuff, uh, someone had gotten sick or
something and no one could step up to lead the
tours that day, so they had to call Lisa in.
So unfortunately we lost her last year, but she was
super excited to make it this year, and they did
have to leave a little early, but they also had

(38:30):
a very long drive back over into Missouri and stuff.
So we so much appreciate dark O's arcs coming in and.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
We always enjoy them.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
So, yes, great people, Hey, Willie, hey.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Will.

Speaker 6 (38:48):
Miss d Yes, he needs to hop back in once
in a while, if only just to hang out with us.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
You would think he'll just stop.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
He's just too.

Speaker 6 (39:01):
He's too cool for us. Yeah. So the okay, So
the presentations went fantastic, and the panels were so much fun.
Like you said earlier, Adrian did our first one, the
Scienceic Ghosts, and holy cow, the size of that panel.
So I try to usually keep it at twelve, but
we were running very late, and before I knew it,

(39:25):
I checked the list of sign ups and they had
gone well beyond the twelve and there was no time
to like weed that back down again. So I was like,
grab some chairs, boys, the more the merrier, here we go.
And that was like panel.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
It was a huge, huge fan.

Speaker 6 (39:42):
Yeah, there was like fifteen or sixteen on that panel.

Speaker 4 (39:46):
Wow, crazy big, But it was it was a really good,
really good it.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Was a conversation, yeah it was.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
It was a very good one. Yeah. And then Scotty
headed up our Bigfoot Cryptied one and that one's always
so interesting because who isn't interested in Bigfoot encryptids, Oh
my gosh, just the personal stories of you know, like
our field investigators and stuff and kind of some of
the weirdness that they have seen. I do see that

(40:14):
the the public size goes down just slightly for those,
And I just think because of the topic isn't quite
as well known, well known as like hauntings. Besides Bigfoot,
you don't see any shows on TV that are just
devoted to cryptids. There's none, unfortunately, truth be told.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
You know, I wasn't really into Bigfoot until we started this,
and you start learning these things and.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Then you start to start reading experiences.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
And.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
I'm kind of into it now. I talked to Scotti
when I was leaving. I was like, hey, man, I
would really I'm interested. If you guys have extra room
next time you guys go on an investigation nearby, go
check it out. He said, Man, I'll talk to Brian
and those guys and see see if that's okay. He said,
you seem I mean, you're a pretty cool guy. You know.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
We love Scott.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
You know, we've had some kind of issues with people
going with us, you know, I'll talk to him. I said,
that's fine, man, that's all I'm asking. I'd love to go.

Speaker 6 (41:20):
Yeah, super interesting.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
M Yeah, trapesing through the woods would only garner me
a trip to the hospital. Probably, you can be.

Speaker 4 (41:32):
Like you get your hover chair's whip right through them.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
Was the bug force field that goes around it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Yeah, it's a constant.

Speaker 6 (41:47):
It reminds me of Wally, like the people in the
floaty chairs.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
Yes, that's great.

Speaker 6 (41:59):
Yeah. So the last panel, the UFO UAP panel was
led by our Inzo and even lesser well known so
and and Inzo kind of got firsthand experience of this.
How little is known about the UFO phenomenon, especially in
our area, which is insane because we sit on the

(42:21):
thirty parallel.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
That's that's the one question you had for the prizes
that nobody was like for sure, what I was?

Speaker 3 (42:31):
I know?

Speaker 6 (42:31):
And I chastised them for it too. It's like, come on,
nobody knows. And that I asked. I asked what was
the date on the Roswell crash?

Speaker 4 (42:44):
The year?

Speaker 6 (42:44):
I didn't even ask that date date. I asked the
year that it happened, and they all looked at me
with glazed over eyes, and I was like, seriously, people, that's.

Speaker 5 (42:54):
Not even the one I was referring to. I was
referring to, Uh yeah, latitude. What latitude is known as
the UFO Highway, I think was your question.

Speaker 6 (43:04):
Yeah, yeah, hint. I was like, we're on it, dead,
snack on it.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
And we've got we've got UFO sidings almost nightly within
ten miles of this work where I'm sitting right now. Yeah, nightly.

Speaker 6 (43:18):
But yeah, it's it's a lesser known topic. And the
great thing about so we always put the UFO panel
last number one because we love sending people out into
the dark having just listened to crazy alien and UFO stories.
But second of all, we do all these fantastic raffles

(43:39):
and we require that you be there to win. So
people have spent all day long coming in and out
of panels and leaving, coming back and throwing their raffle
tickets into these pots, and they really want to be
there to see if they win. And what it does
is it pushes people into that panel that they wouldn't
usually attend. And hopefully having Enzo on the team, now

(44:03):
we can start really pushing that topic and see if
we can't educate not only the public, of course, but
also a lot of the teams. We asked that, Yeah,
we asked that ghost hunting teams and that bigfoot people,
encrypted people, everybody come onto these panels, even if it's

(44:26):
out of your field, especially if it's out of your field,
because we want your bearing opinions, We want you to
learn something. We want a really healthy debate, and so
perhaps it will help educate even some of these people
who are just ghost hunters or people who are just
bigfoot hunters a little bit more on that field, and

(44:48):
they'll all start to see that a lot of these
stories touch and a lot of these topics have everything
to do with every other topic, and that they actually
all work together, which is our tagline. It's all connected,
everything works together, it's all from the same something. We
just haven't figured that out yet.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
I think Robert Privo was talking about that on panel,
about how like orbs are, the ghost hunters see him,
the crypto guys see him, the UFO guys see him. Uh,
and so there's got to be a connection, we just
haven't figured it out yet.

Speaker 6 (45:25):
Ye.

Speaker 5 (45:26):
And there's all portal conversations like that at the party
the night before, and that's it's he and I have
very similar concepts and ideas about all of it, kind
of an idea. So I was glad he was able
to speak up and throw that out there during that panel.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
Yeah, I mean, and that's something that that's really what
God has started on getting the pericon big and bringing
everybody together, because you know, we've got ghost hunters who
go at from a Christian prescript perive, We've got ghost
hunters that go from it from the scientific perspective. We

(46:05):
got ghost hunters that just go out and do it
for fun. We've got en cryptid hunters, and we've got
UFO guys, and so many of us see some of
the same things, and we're just trying to put it
all together and to get these people in the same
room and communicating to see, you know, we're not so different,

(46:27):
We're not so far apart.

Speaker 6 (46:30):
So I always like, whatoun do the truth someday, I
always like what Pam says about it, that we're all
seeing the exact same things, we just all have a
different word for it.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
It is true.

Speaker 6 (46:45):
Yeah, all these different fields just has a different a
different definition of the same thing that we're all seeing.
So that's and that's why we have the con This
is why we started it, so people could get together
and we could share stories and start to see the
likenesses in our in our field studies and start working

(47:06):
together instead of against each other. Because we actually had
this conversation at the con that you know, just ten, twelve,
fifteen years ago, you wouldn't have found bigfoot crypted hunters
in the same room with ghost hunters unless they were
battling it out.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
Yeah, there'd be a fistfight.

Speaker 6 (47:24):
It was in the same as UFO.

Speaker 4 (47:25):
Yeah, drift lines drawn.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
You didn't.

Speaker 4 (47:27):
You didn't really cross camps forever, which is sad because
I mean, look how much it probably impeded growth in
these different fields. But it's it's changed now and I'm
really glad to see it all come together like it has.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
The one group i'd like to see come in with
us would be the scientist specifically, like the theoretical physicists. Yeah,
because I think a lot of the answers to some
of these questions lie in in physics and science, and

(48:07):
until everybody gets to communicating to one another and sharing
their data, I don't think any of these things are
really truly going to be answered.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
I need to reach out to Gary voorh he's maybe
for next year.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
The U A p X.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
They've involved scientists and stuff.

Speaker 6 (48:26):
That would be really that would be awesome. Oh my goodness,
I freak out.

Speaker 3 (48:32):
I love Gary. He's great.

Speaker 6 (48:35):
He's great. I've met him a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
And he's podcast.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
Support.

Speaker 6 (48:45):
Gary, we could add yet another podcast to the con.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
It's it's almost podcast con. Really, yeah, it's there, podcast convention.
We might have to There you go, paranormal Podcon. That's great.
Up on the next year, Paranormal Podcon.

Speaker 5 (49:15):
A normal con. There you go.

Speaker 6 (49:21):
Well, you know, you know what, maybe one of these
days we could start a podcon that was just online. Oh,
I like, it'd be cool one day podcon.

Speaker 4 (49:31):
We're different. We totally should How fun would that be?

Speaker 6 (49:35):
People filter in and guess what, I'm not gonna do it.

Speaker 4 (49:40):
We're all looking at you.

Speaker 6 (49:42):
It's going to go along for the ride.

Speaker 5 (49:44):
Is to be there.

Speaker 6 (49:46):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
I'm going to pass the end though, because Mark and
I are kind of working on something behind the scenes
right now.

Speaker 8 (49:52):
So okay, I don't know, maybe I'll have something pop up.

Speaker 5 (50:02):
I don't know. I actually, uh, there there's a podcast
called somewhere in the skies that actually just did that
very thing just a few weeks ago, where they had
different groups, whereas they had the whole game very much

(50:23):
like our para con where they had some crypted people
on there. They do like an hour or two hours
from their podcast, and then right after that followed up
with you know, ghost people and UFO people and all that.
So that's uh, and it was very popular. A lot
of people liked it, so I like it very cool.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Yeah, yeah, cit he dress up and stand on the
corner and an outfit on the on the corner to
bring more people in next year.

Speaker 5 (50:50):
The wacky waving guy Rick, I just want you to
know that there is a Mothman costume.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Well need you to send us your sizes so we
can get it.

Speaker 4 (51:03):
That is hilarious.

Speaker 6 (51:04):
My goodness.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
We'll call you MATHI and you can bear mascot. I'm
only half joking really, because they really do have a costume.
They do it.

Speaker 4 (51:16):
It's super cool looking. Listen to me, super cool it is.
It's super cool, super cool, super.

Speaker 5 (51:22):
Cool for someone else to wear.

Speaker 4 (51:24):
Look for somebody else to wear, my goodness.

Speaker 6 (51:31):
All right, So what else did it? We had vendors
We had so many more vendors this year, and I
haven't told all of you yet. I've told a couple
of you. So this year we had the pleasure of
having uh, Brooke Montoya in who is a She was fantastic.

Speaker 4 (51:51):
Chelsea, you have a Mothman cosplay call. Oh my goodness,
Oh bring it.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
We're going to make you an honorary member.

Speaker 6 (52:01):
Wear that moan is my favorite. Those in the prison
night Crawlers. You have a fris No nightcrawler outfit, just
a big pair of pants so you can.

Speaker 4 (52:09):
Wear that is so funny.

Speaker 6 (52:16):
Oh anyway, I was just saying, Brooklyn Toya. We had
the pleasure of having Brooklyn Toya this year. She is
an author and a medium, and she came and she.

Speaker 4 (52:26):
Uh right, panel, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am.

Speaker 6 (52:35):
She paneled and she sold her books and stuff, and
she was just so excited to have been a part
of it. She again, like so many others, talked about
how friendly and family like the atmosphere was, and uh,
straight out of the horse's mouth, she was just like,
it wasn't stuffy at all. A lot of these cons

(52:57):
that I go to are so hyphalutin kind of you know,
too big for their breeches. It's very cold, and but
she was like, but not here. Everybody's so friendly. It's wonderful.
And while it is on the smaller size, it's so
relaxing just to sit here all day and to be
able to watch and hear the panels and stuff and

(53:19):
not be stuck in a room somewhere off to the
side where you never get to be a part of anything.
She actually offered she has a very large group of
friends that do all these cons these vendors and stuff,
and she was like, I they would love to come
and do this. They're only a couple hours away from you.

(53:41):
Do you want me to get you in contact with them?
And I was like yes, please, and she goes, well,
there quite a few of them, and I was like,
bring it on, because I figure if we fill out
that middle, that side section, then we can certainly start,
you know, filtering some stuff around and figuring out it out.
The more the merrier, is what I say.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
That's great. And speaking of Brooke, I got to speak
with her a little while and she's absolutely just super
sweet and brilliant. I mean, she is very very nice.

Speaker 6 (54:16):
And if you go to the s E k Bordertown
Paranormal page. We have put a link up there. She
just released her brand new book on the MacIntyre Villa today.
It's up for sale and there's a link there that
you can click on to go get it. It's just
hot off the presses, so get yourself a copy. Get

(54:38):
yourself one signed. Tell them, Yeah, tell Brook that we
sent you.

Speaker 4 (54:43):
I pre ordered one at the at the para con,
so I'm super excited to get it.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
But I didn't oh that one.

Speaker 5 (54:54):
And I bought her one of her other books as
a gift for Karen for over a Tuesday, So yeah,
excited to get that. But yeah, I chatted with her
for what I thought I was just going to combuy
like at her books, because I think it was during
Gym's thing and I was already pretty familiar with his works.
I didn't feel too bad about working the some of

(55:15):
the some of the vendor areas then, but we ended
up chatting for like twenty five minutes, to the point
where she was like, I'd love to see her talk,
but I've really got to go to the bathroom.

Speaker 6 (55:24):
But no, Yeah, she's lovely and so we actually got
more vendors this year than what we had planned. Some
of them tagged along with other vendors and was like, hey,
if you have a spot open, could I set up?
And I was like, sign this paper and go get

(55:45):
to it. So the more the merrier. We had people
who had like three D imaging. We had the Proudies
in who were in last year and they do all
the woodworking stuff, bigfoot and stuff. Yeah, laser engravings and
stuff like that, and the uh oh, I just lost

(56:08):
Jason Roberts.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
Jason Roberts road Trip Paranormal, Road Tip Paranormal.

Speaker 6 (56:13):
They brought in like their entire team and a huge
vending set up full of just anything you could think of.
They had books and like they had yeah the necklaces
and t shirts and they were great fun. I love
hanging out with them.

Speaker 3 (56:34):
Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (56:35):
Think I sit and talked to Jason out here for
a while. I think that's when you were leaving. Yeah,
visiting with him and just really nice guy to talk to.

Speaker 4 (56:44):
You really were all great stories.

Speaker 6 (56:49):
Yeah I had some fantastic campfire stories to tell, so yeah,
super great. But yeah, the vendors were awesome. Of course
the readers were vendors too, and we already discussed those,
and then the raffles. Holy cow, the raffles was here.

Speaker 4 (57:06):
We had don't forget Craig and Ashley from Pin Paranormal
they were there as well.

Speaker 6 (57:09):
Oh yeah, well I didn't list everybody was there, so yeah,
was over there and you know, just wow, Yeah, it
was great.

Speaker 4 (57:18):
It was it was really good. Oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 6 (57:22):
Yeah, l and m like we've got like a row
and a half left to fill up and then that
whole side of the gym will be full.

Speaker 4 (57:30):
I really liked how this year we did the black
tables that kind of separated the vendors from yeah, the
actual con and had all of the gift baskets right
there that you could.

Speaker 3 (57:40):
Get put everybody in the one room so you could
go browse everything without us anything. And I had several
people tell me that they really liked it that way
because with the sound system that two Guys in a
PA did for us, they could hear everything that was
going on and while they browsed and they didn't they
didn't have to miss anything and they still got to

(58:01):
take care of their shopping pleasures.

Speaker 4 (58:04):
Definitely shout out to two Guys in a PA, even
though it was just one guy.

Speaker 3 (58:08):
Yeah, he was the best guy in a PA.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
The audio this year, it was it was really good.
This year was really good.

Speaker 6 (58:20):
Yeah, awesome, Yeah, he's they've been tweaking with it and
stuff and trying to get it just right for us.
Plus the the microphones. You don't realize until you have
to like actually deal with like multiple microphones coming into
you know, just two or three speakers, how much tweaking.
Plus people have different voice ranges and like one microphone

(58:45):
will work great for a low range voice while another
one will only work well for a high range voice.
And to find that happy medium. Yeah, they did a
really good job this year, really trying to not focused
in better. I know that they also got some covers
and stuff with the microphones to kind of help with
some of that those issues that we were having Withso yeah, yeah,

(59:07):
so it's getting better and better.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
It gets better every year, and I'm just I mean,
I'm excited to have this one done, but I'm also
excited to see what we can pull off next year. Yeah,
We've already got half a dozen things that we're going
to fix for next year to make it an even
better experience for our speakers and for our public. So yeah.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
Kids in the other chat and he said, I really
like this setup and the big screen TV was amazing. Yes,
it was. That was a huge upgrade from what we
from the projector we've been using.

Speaker 6 (59:44):
Another thing that was talked about a couple of times
speaking of the two guys in the PA running the
sound or whatever. I got a lot of compliments from
especially some of the vendors, saying how nice it was
was to have that music playing in between all the
panels and stuff, because it kept it really festive and fun.
And you know, uh, Mike was really good at playing

(01:00:06):
really good popular songs that just about everybody likes. So
there wasn't that bland quiet where you're just listening to
chairs move and people cheddar underneath, and there was some
like good tunes playing in between, so it kind of
kept everything upbeat all day long.

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Chelsea said, well, next year will be the seventh year
for the Para Con. Yes, it will be.

Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
It will be Lucky seven.

Speaker 6 (01:00:32):
Crazy, my gosh, I know it's crazy that this is
still happening. I can't believe we went. We went from
sitting in the library, like four of us at the
little table just waiting for one person to come in
all the way to you know, crazy clipboard lady and
uh Jumpbo screen TVs and us all.

Speaker 3 (01:00:56):
Buzzing around trying to take care of everything. Yes, and
thank you so much to our volunteers this year and
to our paranormal club that we started this year. Without
you guys, it would have been a lot harder to
make a successful par con. And you guys stars.

Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
And they show up and they just take on every
test that we throw at them and just did a
bang up job.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Yeah, it was great.

Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
Jackie said. One suggestion would be to have a TV
or speaker in the concession area or a green room
so that they could hear or see the panels as well.
That's a good idea.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
I can probably I can probably pull that off.

Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
Be on my pay grade. I have no idea that.

Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
Does that DVD player have apps on it? Like YouTube?
You could just play the YouTube feed on brilliance.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
H you have they have a device you plug into
a USB.

Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
Poard So okay, so like a Roku or something.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
It's an ion and it's probably Android TV. Good yeah, cool.

Speaker 6 (01:02:06):
Something like that we are going to fix. So like
the concessions next year will not be back in that
little nook. We're having issues with having it tucked back
in so far, so we're gonna pull it forward and
it'll be out in the great out in the main hall,
so you'll literally just walk past the tables coming in
and out. So I'll make it a little bit more
accessible for everybody, and then the workers who are working
concession will certainly be able to step in and hear

(01:02:31):
the panels and stuff going on right there near the doors.
And we can always we can always run a secondary
I believe two guys and a PA have several radio
frequency speakers that they set up, especially when they're doing
large festivals, so we should be able to set maybe
one up towards the back there or maybe in the

(01:02:52):
hall to kind of help project it just a little
bit more. I'll write that down.

Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
Kelsie had said, it's so amazing for you convention. Thank
you so much to everyone involved, Thank you for coming
and appreciate that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
We've got improvements slated for our presenters to make things
easier for them to show their presentations. I've already I've
already got the items in my Amazon cart to make
that success. We're going to go with a mini PC
and the present presentation clicker so they can stand inside.

Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
We should make things a lot, a lot smoother this year,
you know.

Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
We we do have a like a wrap up meeting
afterwards to make notes on everything that we saw this
year that we thought we could improve on. But we
actually started that from the beginning of the Paricon, you know,
we immediately start taking notes on what we can fix
next year.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Gots in my phone.

Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
Oh yeah, Inzo and I were sitting on the back
during I think during the Cryptid panel making notes to
make sure we didn't forget.

Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
Any I got a specially Amazon cart for it. I've
already filled up.

Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
That's awesome.

Speaker 6 (01:04:06):
Yeah, it's ever if you're not making if you're not
you know, like readily fixing errors, you're just going to
fall apart. So and it no matter what you do,
there's going to be errors and messages.

Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
Yeah, something she was going to drop up every year,
and it's just one more thing you've got to account for.

Speaker 4 (01:04:25):
But I would be more worried if there was no hiccups.
That would concertainly, because.

Speaker 6 (01:04:30):
Then what's getting ready to happen exactly?

Speaker 4 (01:04:33):
I mean they fire up and again, how stinky is
this production? You know, if we if nobody if something's
not going wrong, because it.

Speaker 5 (01:04:43):
Just something I noticed with you, Jess, was compared to
last year, you you didn't seem to be doing the
Tasmanian Devil thing as much, at least that I know.

Speaker 6 (01:04:56):
Well, it's you know well now that I mean, we're
this was our third year of doing it the big way.

Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:05:03):
Yeah. The first year I didn't know if I was
coming or going. And the second year it was a
little bit better. You know, we kind of had one
under our belts. We kind of knew how it was
going to go. But this time it's starting to run
so much better. And of course we did have our
fires to put out, and we had some hiccups here
and there. But well, not only am I knowing better

(01:05:27):
now kind of what needs to happen, but everyone around us,
like our team, knows what we need to what needs
to happen. But a lot of these people are starting
they're coming back for the second, the third, the fourth
time now and they know how it runs. And like
I said before, we're all becoming just kind of one
big family. So everybody is pitching in to make sure

(01:05:51):
that things happen the way they should people are where
they're supposed to be, and that it just kind of
runs like it should. So it's just it's I'm not
going to say it's getting easier, but it's getting less
daunting because.

Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
I know, less challenging.

Speaker 6 (01:06:09):
You know, if something goes bad, if I foul up
in some way, there's at least six other people behind
me to scoop up the ashes, yes, well something, or
do at least pat me on the head and say
it'll happen next year, don't worry.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Something I noticed, especially with you, Jess, was in the
previous years, it seemed like you were trying to run
everything in between the panels. You were trying to run
panels plus the show and all that. And now I
think it's big enough to where other people are stepping
in and running the panels, and you were focused on Okay,
Like I noticed, you know, Christy was getting ready to

(01:06:46):
come on, and you went and told Doc Case she's
got like ten minutes to be on, you know, and
she was in the middle of a healing, you know,
and you were just kind of the the organizer, you know,
You're like, hey, this person's got to be on. Let's
let's let them notifying you know what everybody else is
kind of running the panels and stuff like that from
when I was there.

Speaker 6 (01:07:05):
Yeah, that that really is you know, that's what it's
come down to, and I appreciate that. Yeah, Delegate, Delegate,
That's what I've learned. It's one of the reasons why
we decided to do the guest moderators this year because well,
it's first started because we knew that Mark was not
going to be able to be there, and Mark usually
ran the Cryptid panel or the UFO panel, and Pam

(01:07:28):
would run one and I would run one, and it
just got to be Uh, we knew that Pam was
going to have to help with the live feeds, and
I'm always stretched so thin. If I know that I'm
having to organize and moderate a panel, you know, who's
going to take care of you to do while I'm moderating.
And so we decided, you know, we have so many

(01:07:51):
capable people that can come in and moderate, who really
know these fields. Why are we, you know, keeping this
to ourselves. Let's allow them to bring their knowledge to
these panels and create something completely new, because I mean,
they've heard these panels from us time and time again.

Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
And that makes just a better panel because you've got
somebody who come one coming from a different perspective. Two, Uh,
they're familiar with the field, so they're going to do
it different, or they're going to ask good questions or
what have you. But also, if us three run all

(01:08:31):
the panels, we're going to start getting stale. Yes, when
we invite people that we trust, that we know will
do a good job to come in and give them
that responsibility, they come, they meet the challenge. Adrian did
an excellent job, Ends though, did an excellent job. Scotty

(01:08:53):
did a great job. I mean, yeah, we've got people
that we trust and that will do a good job.

Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
We've got very capable people for sure, so there's no
reason not to let them shine.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
And we know enough people now we can rotate them
year after year and just get a different perspective every year,
which will help grow and help other people learn more
about the different subjects.

Speaker 4 (01:09:22):
Over in the other chat, Shaw's in there now and
she said she did notice more smiles from Jess and
less stress. So yeah yeah, and Ken said, just like
a phoenix, just keep rising and improving.

Speaker 6 (01:09:33):
Ah yeah, yeah, it will. I mean, like I said,
like this is our third year doing it. Next year
will be our fourth and it'll go even more smoothly
because we'll know, I mean, we've hit the pitfalls, we
have screwed up, we have mistakes, and we learn from
them and you know, we just know better for the
next year. And like I said, like you know, getting

(01:09:56):
some guest moderators in and U oh my gosh, the
volunteers this year. So I have to give a huge
shout up to Alicia Smith who took care of all
the vendors. I didn't have to worry about it. The
only time I had to worry about a vendor is
if one came up to me and said where am
I supposed to go, and to be like, go talk
to Alisha. I didn't even have to worry about it

(01:10:18):
at all. And to Stacy Huey, who is our star pitcher.
She took care of all the volunteers if somebody needed
to switched out or if they were like, hey, I
really want to watch this panel. Can you find somebody
to like work you know, the concessions for me for
an hour. She was right on it, rotating and making
sure everybody had fresh jobs to do, so they were

(01:10:40):
getting bored Yeah, it was awesome. And then Jane Harrington,
who happens to be my mother. She's always very kind
and runs all of our merchandise and the raffle ticket taking,
which will drive anyone saying, but she happily does it
her and usually my daughter heads that table up and
they will they will take raffle tickets all day long,

(01:11:03):
just ripping tickets. So and that was the other thing.
The raffles this year. Oh my god, so we did
our usual. So many people gifted us raffles. We had
so many we ran out of space and we were
having to double them up on the table in order
to fit them all in. So Ken Rall Maler gave

(01:11:26):
us a fantastic handmade Ouiji board set that he had
been gifted at another conor.

Speaker 4 (01:11:34):
From or biltmore, I can't remember.

Speaker 6 (01:11:39):
Beautiful hand uh a wood uh Oija board set. What
else we have a lot of the authors gave us books,
Brian Tarrell books and a huge like Bigfoot Enthusiast set,
like a full of every little knickknack and fun thing
you'd ever want. That one went for Wow, that one

(01:12:00):
was full raffle tickets. The the Lepleys gave us a
little gift basket full of like bigfoot goodies too.

Speaker 4 (01:12:11):
Yeah, it did really well. Did we put out a
sign up for volunteers? We did at the UH We
had a paranormal club the weekend before and that was
the big one.

Speaker 6 (01:12:24):
Did we do it anyway? I can't it online?

Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Okay, we'll get you on the list. Yeah, for sure, absolutely,
especially if you're going to wear the moth man out
of it.

Speaker 6 (01:12:36):
You can come in for the club meetings. The club
meetings are at the Caney Library at two pm every
third Saturday of the month.

Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
Yepaws. In the other chat, she said that Pam was
so smiley too, in less stressed, and Jason Alexander was
there to help out as well, which he did. He
stepped up and helped with some of the technical issues.

Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
But he did. Did you try restarting it? I'm just
saying this is ah.

Speaker 6 (01:13:02):
We were just like, are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (01:13:06):
Between all of us and none of us, that's just
like the big joke, you know, turning it off and
on it t Yeah from it crowd it. Did you
try to turning it off and on again? That was
a British accent.

Speaker 6 (01:13:23):
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 5 (01:13:25):
She also had the the Cozy Rainy Day Ghost.

Speaker 6 (01:13:33):
Oh yeah, that one was mine this year. So I
locked into uh a uh beautiful Wija fleece fleece blanket
that I almost kept for myself, but I decided not to. Yeah,
and I was like, I don't know about all of you, well,
I know about all of you, but everyone at home

(01:13:55):
and everyone listening one of my Fall is my favorite
time of year, of course, because I love Halloween. But
who doesn't love like a rainy, you know, cool fall
day and you don't have anywhere to go. Maybe it's
a weekend, you don't have any work, and you just
stay in your pajamas and curl up in a snugly
blanket and pick up your favorite like scary book with

(01:14:17):
a hot cup of cocoa or coffee or something and
just blow a sunday, you know what I mean. That's
like my favorite thing to do. So I decided to
put together that Haunted Rainy Day pack and it had
the fleece blanket in it and a tote to put
everything down in, along with a large like skull mug

(01:14:38):
and a smaller like coffee mug. And I found the
Dead Bones Coffee Company. If you have not heard of them.
Go check them out. They had some fantastic flavors, I believe.
I grabbed the caramel spice one and a hot vanilla
tea for those who don't like coffee, and a wonderful

(01:14:59):
scented can with ghosts all over. It smell delicious. But
I was like, man, that's a perfect that's a Sunday after.

Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
That was my favorite. That out of all the raffles,
that was my personal favorite. Yeah, it was very well curated.
Good job, Jess, thank you.

Speaker 6 (01:15:15):
Yeah, it had it has one of my favorite ones
in it. It had the Mammoth Book of Haunted Tales.
It's one of my favorite books. It's just got a
fantastic collection in it. Nice short story so you're not
getting bored, but they're just spooky enough to be like wooh,
that one was crazy. But yeah, we had fantastic raffles

(01:15:37):
this year.

Speaker 5 (01:15:41):
What was the one guy win his own raffle item?

Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
That was Rick Rick's in the chat. Yes he did,
but he did it for a reason. He had a
very very specific reason. He wanted to win it so
he could gift it to Stacy Huey's son, and that's
Cord And he comes in and is in on our
Bordertown strange a lot for notebit games. He loves notebit games,
and he loves paranormal everything. So I think Chord is seven.

(01:16:09):
Is that correct?

Speaker 5 (01:16:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:16:11):
Sure, so coord isn't old enough to come to the
con yet. Our para con, you have to be twelve
or older to come in solely because we talk about
very adult topics. Some of the stories are scary, and
we have very passionate guests sometimes and I don't want
to subdue their language. So we've just made it twelve

(01:16:35):
and over. Plus we've actually had this discussion before. I
think eleven twelve is right at that perfect age when
you're starting to really develop your love and appreciation for
the paranormal. So that's like kind of the perfect time
to get you started to be like, this is the
world we're looking at here, you know, this is some
of the crazy stuff that happens. What do you think?

(01:16:56):
It's kind of the perfect age for that. That was
the age for me. I mean I loved it before then,
but you know, eleven twelve was when I started getting
to you like goose bumps and like picking up the
paranormal books at the library and you know, it is
bigfoot reel and you know that's just kind of the
perfect I picked up.

Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
Van durgan h. So yeah, that's about right. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Yeah, going back to what you said a second ago
about you know, the language and all that, I understand that,
but I have not heard anything offensive or anything.

Speaker 7 (01:17:34):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:17:34):
They're usually pretty good, you know they Yeah, but in
new windows happen and things like that, And I don't
want to hinder our guests.

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
No, I'm not, I'm not, you know, I'm just saying
that sometimes there are some graphic descriptions.

Speaker 4 (01:17:50):
Of yeah, everyone, yeah, everyone does remain very respectful though,
and it's it's refreshing, it is very nice.

Speaker 5 (01:17:58):
Yeah, I filtered a few of them.

Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
I think, yeah, you filter it. And another another thing
is is and this is sometimes as no fault to
the parent, but we get cranky kids and stuff who
don't want to set through an hour and a half
long presentation on a hard, you know surface, and we'll
start struggling and whining, and infants will cry, and I

(01:18:23):
don't want panels interrupted by what children do? You know,
that's what they do. So it's just it's easier that way,
and we look forward to the day when Cord turns
twelve and gets to take a start or can't wait.

Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Yeah, the epp and geeks that came up, that's Shanna.
She's like, she had to come over to YouTube so
she could we could see her in the chat. Yay
and Rick, Yes he did. He did get that for Cord.
Even if I didn't want to, I would have made
sure he ended up with something because he is the
future of this.

Speaker 1 (01:18:59):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:19:00):
Yes, Chords are like our unofficial you know, like Junior
ghost Hunner.

Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
He is.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
He gets it. In jail.

Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Friday night, you know, everybody's kind of sharing their stories
and stuff. And my kids were out there. My daughter's seven,
you know, and she's like getting a little bit, a
little bit nervous, you know, a little scared. She jumped
into my lap. I'm like, well, you know, if you
don't want to hear it, we'll take inside. You can
turn on Scooby Doo whatever, you know, And she's like, no,

(01:19:33):
I want to hear more. I'm like, I don't want
you to. You know, if they're going to tell more,
you can't. You're not sleeping with us, I promise you.

Speaker 6 (01:19:42):
Yeah. Yeah, see that that right there. It was just
some fun little campfire stories we were telling. So I
don't want kids getting scared or hearing something they're not ready.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
For yet, for sure, and some are and some are
so I mean, yeah, but by the time twelve rolls around,
they should all be pretty much ready for.

Speaker 4 (01:20:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:20:05):
I think you're about ready at twelve to kind of
start hearing the creepier side of things or you know,
and you're at a better cognitive age to start to
grasp some of the concepts we'll be talking about. You
probably won't get them, you know, completely, but you can
start to kind of grasp and kind of see in
what direction it's going. So I think it's the perfect

(01:20:26):
age to start them off on. And twelve is old
enough to really take care of yourself, so we're not
worrying about them running the vendor tables and knocking something
over or you know. I'm perfectly fine with them grabbing
tons of candy and stuff in their mouth and watching
the ghost panel at the age of tien.

Speaker 3 (01:20:45):
Absolutely I will sell them that.

Speaker 6 (01:20:47):
Candy exactly, and that's good.

Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
But too, everything that is is other than the vendors,
Everything that you see for sell, like the concessions and
things like that, all that many and the programs that
we had this year, all that turns around and goes
right back into the para con. Yeah. I to hold
up one of the programs and show them. They came
out so good. We're so proud of them.

Speaker 6 (01:21:12):
Yeah, so they came out really great. We sold ads
this year to kind of help cover the cost of
them and see those towards the bat. This one's a
new one. It's hard to open, but we have you know,
there's all of our podcasts, and there's ads and stuff
that the businesses put in, and this had everything in
it this year. They went over really well, and we

(01:21:33):
only had them for a dollar apiece, just to kind
of help cover the cost of them too and bolster
the con every Like Pam said, everything we sell there
through us, that money goes right back into the pericon
the next year to kind to keep it free. We
don't want to want to charge at the door. Let's
we're going to keep it free for as long as

(01:21:53):
we can.

Speaker 3 (01:21:54):
And we don't make money, We don't make enough to
cover the costs. We all several hundred dollars. I know
you guys have pitched in several hundred dollars each so
what we bring in just supplements what we're already paying in. Yeah,
it pays for the venue and a few other small things,

(01:22:17):
and we fut the bill for the rest. And that's
just so we can bring everybody together. For a lot
of us, it's it's the big event of the year.
I know it is for us, and I love planning
it all year long.

Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
Yeah, it's fun and yeah, we get down like that
last few what three months, we're like every weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
Every weekend together. Not only is it great to plan,
it's great to I mean not that we need one
because we're adults, but it's nice to have an excuse
for us all to get together and chat. Yeah. So
it's really brought us, brought us all closer together and
closer together with the people in the community. It's just grand.

Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
Yeah, Shall said. Maybe the vendors that are selling stuff
get pitch at about twenty five dollars for their spots. Yeah,
maybe so.

Speaker 6 (01:23:03):
They could, but like I said, we're trying to keep
it free for as long as possible. So like Pam
and I we come from that world of vending. We're
both artist and we have spent the last ten, fifteen,
twenty years going to art shows and paying the highest
price booth prices, only to sell not even a quarter

(01:23:25):
of what we needed to cover that, and just being
let down. It's terrible. And if someone had offered us
a free spot and been like, hey, just come and
join us, you know, not get a ton of foot traffic,
but it's free and you can break down when you want.
Just come and enjoy the day, and you get to

(01:23:45):
sit here and listen to these fantastic speeches and these
panels and stuff. Pam and I would have been like, we.

Speaker 4 (01:23:51):
Would have been all over that, absolutely all over it.

Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
And I think that's why we're getting such a good
response from the vendors. They do get to a for free,
and they get to take away as as much as
they give us. So they get to since they're in
the same room, they get to enjoy the con yep

(01:24:16):
and then make enough money to at least make it
worth their while.

Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
Yea, and this year, and I don't I think it's Sean.
You'll have to correct me if I'm wrong. Has it
been all the last three years? She life streams too
on her on her Facebook and well not Facebook but
YouTube and Twitch, I believe, and so we're getting out
on a whole separate group of people that we don't

(01:24:41):
even know, so I think that's great too. It's absolute ushah.

Speaker 6 (01:24:49):
That con was fantastic this year. So yay for everybody
who helped make it happen. Ya for all of our volunteers. Yea,
for all the panelists and speakers that came in, especially
the ones that drove from so far away on their
own dime. Thanks to Phil for putting on the night
before party, and of course thanks to everybody on my team,

(01:25:09):
because we spend a year putting this thing together, and
lord knows, we start losing our minds about August and
then it's just a downward spiral from there. But it's
okay because we're going to rest up for this week.
We're probably gonna have a meeting this weekend to do
a follow up, you know, what can we fix, what
can we do for next year. We're gonna break for
a little bit, do our case files by candle light

(01:25:31):
at the library on the eighteenth, and then we're probably
going to get into some investigations finally pick up where
we started. And then what Inzo and Scotty don't know
is that we have an end of the year. Our
Christmas party. Oh yeah, we're gonna plan for and we've
got like a secret Santa thing going on too. It's

(01:25:53):
fun to add two on that. We just do a date.
We go to Pam's house and we just said we
spend like a Saturday or Sunday just watching really great
you know, like uh, paranormal TV or I think last
year we spent all day watching Graham Hancock.

Speaker 4 (01:26:14):
Yeah, we was it Graham Handcock or was it Ah?

Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Who was it? I know it was in a couple
of weekends watching Graham Hancock.

Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
Did Now this was somebody else though it was on
was it on History?

Speaker 6 (01:26:30):
I don't remember it. But we we we watched shows
like that and we just put out a spread of
food and we exchanged gifts and we just watched that
kind of stuff and just eat for an afternoon and
just kick our feet back and enjoy.

Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
No, just chills.

Speaker 4 (01:26:52):
Almost everybody got cat balls last year, which was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (01:26:58):
It was the ones you touched off.

Speaker 4 (01:27:01):
Well that even sounded worse. Mark, we need to clarify.

Speaker 6 (01:27:10):
Oh no, all right, but you know it's starting to
get a little late. Do you guys want to do
any of the notebooks before we head out.

Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
Yeah, what happened? So what notebooks are?

Speaker 6 (01:27:24):
Well, we're not going to play the normal notebook game.
We're not playing the normal game. We're going to play
the fringe version version. Okay, So Mark and I actually
came up with this once you were gone and we
needed something to do really quick because you were supposed
to carry most of that topic we were going to
do that day. So we invented a version of the

(01:27:44):
notebook games. So what we do is is we allow
the chat rooms to pick a page and a book
like we usually do, and I opened it up to
that page, but I don't read what's on that page.
I just tell you the topic that's on that page,
and then we have to discuss it. Yeah, like five

(01:28:07):
or ten minutes on that topic. Everybody check in. Watch
you know, we'll discuss a little bit and then move on.
I'm testing to have prime to probably do like a
couple maybe if we try to keep it short. So
are you guys up to the challenge, because there will be.

Speaker 5 (01:28:23):
I'll just ask I'll just act like one of my
panel memories.

Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
You did, I just to check out good?

Speaker 1 (01:28:31):
You do this?

Speaker 6 (01:28:33):
All right? So everybody in the chats I have five
I'm getting. So all you have to do is pick
up notebook one through five and then pick a page
number one through seventy five, and whatever topic is on
that page we will discuss. Okay, So rip once notebook three,

(01:28:55):
page thirteen. Okay, counting through.

Speaker 1 (01:29:06):
Shall said the same thing. No book three, page thirteen. Wow,
no cheating?

Speaker 5 (01:29:12):
What wows cross platform cheating?

Speaker 6 (01:29:15):
At that?

Speaker 4 (01:29:16):
Chelsea almost got the same, she said, no book page one,
She's just missed the three on the end. That is weird.

Speaker 6 (01:29:24):
Okay. So this page is on President Eisenhower signing the
Secret Treaty in nineteen fifty four with the alien race
known as the Grays, the Greater Treaty, So let's discuss.

Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
That book is actually on my wish list on Amazon.
I just have not got it yet.

Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
That is weird, Joah.

Speaker 1 (01:29:47):
The only thing that I really know about it is
the treaty was supposedly for technology. They were allowed to
take so many people a year. That's all I really
know about that topic.

Speaker 5 (01:29:57):
As all they said, well, you can take people, but
you need to give us a list of names. We
need to know who it is that you're taking. But
you can take what you like, as long as we
get goodies. And in the end, they didn't get what
they were promised. They basically they're they're taking they're taking people,
but we didn't get the tech that was promised.

Speaker 6 (01:30:18):
As I understand, Yeah, they had to they like formed
an entire committee that the aliens were supposed to answer
to when it came to taking people, and they called
them the Majestic Twelve, and they had to report to them.
And supposedly Eisenhower had this entire treaty done up where
it was kind of a give and take thing. You
scratch our backs, we'll scratch yours, And supposedly there was

(01:30:42):
quite quite more people involved with that than just Eisenhower.

Speaker 4 (01:30:46):
So yeah, that's interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:30:49):
I guess the original idea is that was presented by
whoever the aliens were, that they were just going to
do like a basic quick physical exam on some people,
some specific uh you know, just they didn't make it
sound like it was going a big, big deal. They
didn't make it sound like it was. As it turned out,
were these horrific experiments that were very evasive and tracking

(01:31:14):
hardware and everything else that goes into it.

Speaker 6 (01:31:17):
Mm hmm. Yeah, there we go. Does anybody else have
one that they want to do.

Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
There's a couple more in the chat, so let's do it.

Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
Okay, eight?

Speaker 6 (01:31:33):
Which one was it? No?

Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
Book to page eight?

Speaker 4 (01:31:37):
Okay, Oh, I'm so sorry I skipped Chelsea. Chelsea was
up further. No big, Well we'll get Chelsea. We'll get
you next. Okay, sorry about that.

Speaker 6 (01:31:49):
We yeah, time, we'll do it next.

Speaker 3 (01:31:52):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:31:56):
Oh this is delphos Ring.

Speaker 4 (01:31:58):
Oh, PAMs should be able to talk, right, I'm like,
wait a minute, I remember this one.

Speaker 6 (01:32:05):
Yeah, So Delpho's Ring nineteen seventy one in Kansas. For
those of you don't know, it's one of the most
famous UFO encounters ever in Kansas. Who wants to go?

Speaker 4 (01:32:21):
It was a young boy I think his name is Ronnie,
is that correct, And he was on his family's farm
and he was feeding the goats, if I remember correctly,
when he heard it noise kind of sounding like a
washing machine like the tub was, you know, moving back
and forth, and so he poked his head out to
see what it was, and he saw this small craft

(01:32:44):
kind of lift off and kind of wobble off basically,
and he called his parents and they came out and
actually witnessed it as well, and they noticed that on
the ground that there was a ring. It glowed, Yes,
it glowed, and the mother touched it and ended up
her hand or her fingers went numb for like two

(01:33:06):
or three days after she touched it.

Speaker 6 (01:33:09):
Why she touched it, I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (01:33:11):
Yeah, I wouldn't have touched it, but they did have that.

Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
I totally would have Mark. Would we know you have? Mark?

Speaker 4 (01:33:20):
She did have the peace of mind to grab a
polaroid and take some photos of it, so they had
almost instant photos of it. And there was an investigator
that was actually pretty close to the area and he
was out there within a month of the time that
this occurred, and so he was able to get some
really good information gathering done on it.

Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
That's something I'd like to note when you look at
the pictures. I've got the pictures up here for those
of you who are listening to this, you can come
back and look at the lives and on Facebook. The
circle on the ground isn't completely round, and the descriptions
of it, to me, it looks almost like a jellyfish.
And I'm wondering if this was some sort of biological creature.

(01:34:07):
Maybe not from this earth or maybe not from this
you know reality. Yeah, well, and that would explain the
numbness in the because jellyfish often put out a toxin
that causes numbness or stinging. Uh So I found it.
I find this one really fascinating very I find it

(01:34:31):
like it's compelling to me that there's life somewhere out
there that we don't recognize as being intelligent. And it
may not be intelligent. If it is an animal, it
may have just been stopping for to rest and then
the kid scared it off.

Speaker 4 (01:34:49):
Yeah, and you know, I think. And so at the
time that we did this one, you had made the
comment that you thought that the trees where it was
it was different than.

Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
What you had.

Speaker 5 (01:35:02):
I was surprised that where the trees were were it
was very closed in. It wasn't like if this is
a spacecraft it's going to land and was next to
some trees. And I'd always seen like the those close
up pictures of the ring where where the trees are
right up against where the ring is. Yeah, but it's
kind of all the way around like that. So this

(01:35:23):
is something that almost would have had to come like
straight down and kind of sit amongst the trees. It
was almost not quite exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
Yeah, like it was trying to camouflage itself.

Speaker 5 (01:35:34):
And when it did like pick up and take off,
didn't it like bang into the building next to it
or something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:35:41):
I don't recall, but I do know that picture that
you were showing where Mark you had noted that it
wasn't a true circle. It was kind of off on
one side. That is something that is noted, and a
lot of things, and it's like it had taken off
it kind of a tilt. And it seems like some
of that came back and matched the descriptions they were
giving of what they had witnessed.

Speaker 6 (01:36:02):
Match was it was like a blowback from tacond Off. Yep, yeah,
I like, did you see what Chelsea said? So the
the Kansas jellyfish, wonder if it knows the Oklahoma octopus
it might.

Speaker 4 (01:36:18):
That's funny.

Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
Last par Con or the pir com before that guy
came and talked to us a little bit about a
UFO or something he saw that. I don't know if
I can't remember exactly if it sprayed something on him
or whatever, but it burnt his skin.

Speaker 3 (01:36:35):
Oh wow, I remember that. It was before last.

Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
Yeah, it was just outside of Cannie, a few miles
what was.

Speaker 3 (01:36:43):
Out in the Tyro area where they're seeing UFOs?

Speaker 4 (01:36:46):
Oh okay, you're.

Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
Talking about man.

Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
Yeah. And what's really interesting about this one is they
covered it up because they were tired of people coming
onto their property or asking to see it, so they
went ahead and covered it. And then what was it?
About twenty years later they uncovered it. It was still
there and they took more samples. Yeah, and it's as
far as I know, it's covered up again, but it's
still there, you know, and it's it's just like it's

(01:37:13):
almost permanently marked the ground where it was.

Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
Did they find some unknown compounds?

Speaker 4 (01:37:18):
They did, Yes, they did, and they took soil samples
and were able to side by side grow I can't
remember if it was wheat or soy, but whatever they grew,
it was like a total difference in the same soil.
Just one had the saturation in it from whatever this
thing was and the other did not. And it was

(01:37:41):
really fascinating to see that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
I think grass ever grew back there until they.

Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
Came No, no, huh, it did not. Yeah, all right,
do we want to do another one?

Speaker 6 (01:37:54):
Which one did? Chelsea want notebook three, page one.

Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
Yeah, Chelsea, all.

Speaker 5 (01:38:01):
Right, it is though an interesting story. You got your
money's worth on that one.

Speaker 4 (01:38:07):
A good one.

Speaker 3 (01:38:08):
That is a good one. Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:38:12):
And I'm only a half brain capacity and I remembered part.

Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
Of it, so yay, this is on Amazon.

Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
It's a good book.

Speaker 6 (01:38:26):
What am I talking about here?

Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (01:38:30):
This is more of the Giants in America. It's just
a thing. It's it's more listings of giants in America.

Speaker 3 (01:38:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:38:40):
Did you guys just want to kind of talk on
giants in America for just a little better?

Speaker 4 (01:38:45):
And so tell us about your future wife.

Speaker 5 (01:38:48):
A future wife the red haired giant from Love Life.

Speaker 6 (01:38:53):
Yeah, that one.

Speaker 5 (01:38:56):
That's that's a whole other action. And I never did
hear the story from the from her about anyways. But anyways,
there throughout, especially the late eighteen hundreds, there were a
lot of discoveries of giant skeletons in various places because
they're doing construction building little towns and stuff like that,

(01:39:16):
and they come across this giant And when I say giant,
we're talking like in the nine Yeah, you know, kind
of area where they're not you know, fifty foot woman stuff.
But this is you know, certainly, you know, taller than average,
especially for that time, finding a lot of that. And

(01:39:37):
there's a lot of Native American stories from many hundreds
of years ago of giants coming by different from Bigfoot.
They were just like giant humans that would maraud and
actually capture their people and eat them. They were cannibal well,
I guess cannibals if they were the same species. But

(01:39:57):
there's one famous story in eras in a, Nevada around
where the Lovelock Cave is in the western part of Nevada,
where they're very nearby, is a big lake, and all
of the local tribes decided, hey, we're going to work
together on that. We certainly have our beef, but my enemy,

(01:40:19):
you know, your enemy, let's work together on this. And
they basically started corraling all of these giants and drove
them all into the lake. Anytime one of them would
get up near the shore, they're just fired arrows and
spears at them, driving them back into the lake to
drown them. But there was a small group of them
that did manage to swear it away from the crowd,
and they ran up to some local caves, cave and

(01:40:43):
went and hidden there, and they picked up all of
everything that would burn, every twig, every shrub, every piece
of driftwood or whatever, and jammed it into that cave
and lit it on fire. They were going to burn
them up, and they didn't have any problems from the
giants after so amazingly.

Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
So yes, yeah, you exterminate all of them.

Speaker 5 (01:41:05):
They don't come back, that is right.

Speaker 6 (01:41:08):
Yeah, in America are a huge topic for us. So yeah,
one of these days we'll do a border Town Strange
on it.

Speaker 3 (01:41:17):
We need to. I've got to.

Speaker 5 (01:41:19):
They send scientists, didn't they send scientists? And where did
all those end up?

Speaker 6 (01:41:25):
You think the Smithsonian.

Speaker 4 (01:41:31):
We need to have it, we need in So you
need to come up with a really good sound to
go along with every time we say Smithsonian, like it's
a villain sound.

Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
Oh yeah, it's like a fall. That's that's a start.
So evil creepy music.

Speaker 6 (01:41:58):
Will be evil creepy music. Do we have any more?

Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
Or one more?

Speaker 6 (01:42:05):
Okay, let's do the one more and then well we'll
end it. Because I know Phil Scott to getting tired
and he's probably not eaten yet.

Speaker 3 (01:42:11):
I haven't five away.

Speaker 5 (01:42:15):
He's lost a lot of ways since.

Speaker 6 (01:42:18):
I know I kept calling him half a phil So, yeah, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
Been a while since I saw you the other night
and I was like, where's the rest of you?

Speaker 6 (01:42:37):
Where did it go to?

Speaker 3 (01:42:38):
And only one of them came back.

Speaker 6 (01:42:42):
Talk okay? Uh so uh, We're actually gonna have to
shorten the amount of people that talk about this. This
is about Osage Chills, h O s Chill Hauntings, So Catman,

(01:43:05):
the mansion, all of that, and this this stuff that
we're talking about is just outside the Caney area here.
So although I'm sure Inzo and Philip heard us talk
about it enough, they could probably touch a little.

Speaker 1 (01:43:19):
Bit on us something a little caveat to that we are.
Maybe I don't have it started yet, but we're in
the process of filming our outings and we're talking about
going down to hills.

Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
Oh nice, I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
Camping and hiking down there, so I'm like, maybe I
can get some something.

Speaker 6 (01:43:46):
Yeah, the O Sage Hills, So the O Sae Hills
for us are literally just uh down south and to
the west, just ever so slightly from us. We you
always hear us talking about the sand Hills. The sand
Hills become the O Sage Hills. It's all part of
kind of the same scape. It's just that the rock

(01:44:08):
beatures kind of change a little bit. It goes from
sandy rock into granite limestone and courts type of a
situation down that way. Both sections have very old lore
and legends to them. They're very steeped in old Native

(01:44:29):
American stuff. We've got little people and you know your
regular your ghosts. You've got Bigfoot. We have the Catman,
who we've discussed before, I believe on here, who was
actually a real person. It was a escaped Delaware Indian.
He had escaped from a local jail. They thought he

(01:44:50):
had perished over the winter, but he had not. He'd
actually made it and it was living out of a
cave out in the Osage Hills and he was actually
eating people the area. Cane lost three people to him.
They finally tracked him down one day and found what
was left of the people up in this cave, and
they killed him and disposed of him. But his legend

(01:45:12):
lived on as like kind of the Boogeyman, and it
actually got mixed with the Bigfoot that is in the
area too, so it's kind of all one and the same.
We also have Labberty Mansion out in the osh Hills,
which has become this supposedly the most haunted mansion in Oklahoma.

(01:45:32):
The stories to it aren't completely true, but the legend
has built up around it so much and so many
people actually fear this place that it's kind of created
sort of a Tulpa situation where it has kind of
been haunted by everyone who is so unnerved and scared
by it. So we have that out there, and so
much more than that. And of course the movie that

(01:45:55):
came out last Summer Killers of the Flower Moon, that
is an absolutely true story about the oil rights being
taken away from the Osage Indians and the murders and
all the things that happened with that. So there's literally
blood soaked into those hills. But that comes every kind

(01:46:17):
of crazy legend and cryptid and in fact, you've heard
us talk about the not a deer before. Another teammate
of ours saw it in the Osage Hills. That's where
he was when he saw that not a deer. So yeah,
crazy place.

Speaker 1 (01:46:35):
Your big foot sighting was that in the sand Hills
or was that in the Osage Hills.

Speaker 4 (01:46:38):
It was in the sand Hills. It was just like
right outside of Cannie where you go over the Caney River.
It was just on the west side of there, three
miles from Yes, it's right there. And interestingly enough, the
other night we were talking to Jason Roberts and Ashley
was there with her husban Been Craig, and then their

(01:47:01):
friends Leah from L and M. She had me tell
her the disappearing house story. So I was telling her
that it is so wild, and it, you know, morphed
into the big fit story, which happened very close in
that same area. And I turned to Craig and I

(01:47:22):
was like, as a matter of fact, Craig's sister, Shelley,
was one of my best friends in high school. She
was driving the car the night that we saw it,
so I was in the passenger seat. She was the driver,
so she and I were the ones that had eyes
straight on that thing. The other two in the back
seat saw it, but not nearly as full on as
what we did. And she still talks about it, and

(01:47:43):
Craig was like, yeah, absolutely she does. And he said,
by the way, my parents just recently saw a big
fit right in that same area. We didn't have that story,
so Brian doesn't have that story either. And you know
then as she reminded him that that was the year
that we got married to actually ten years ago that
they saw this thing. But you know, time flies when

(01:48:04):
when we start.

Speaker 3 (01:48:05):
To get older.

Speaker 4 (01:48:06):
But yeah, so there's a whole nother story right there
in that same area. So it's still active, which we
knew it was still active, but that's just another one
to add in.

Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
Yeah, it's a really squatchy area in there. I mean,
there's plenty of food and.

Speaker 4 (01:48:22):
There, there's time slips right through that area. There is
lay lines. There's two big lay lines that go through there.
A river, Yeah, there's a river. There's lots of quarts
in you know, in the sandstone out there, so there's.

Speaker 3 (01:48:37):
A lot going anyway.

Speaker 4 (01:48:39):
And right, Yeah, we tried to get Enzo to buy
this property. It's no longer for sale, but we were like,
if you do it right here, it's right in the
middle of everything, and he was.

Speaker 3 (01:48:46):
Like, uh no, rightatory, I would have bought it for Yeah,
it was.

Speaker 4 (01:48:57):
It was a little pricey for sure. It's a fascinating area. Yeah,
and you know, if you take all that in mind,
you've got a point. Phil. We're right on thirty seventh
parallel that runs right smack on it.

Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
So literally from where you saw your big foot and
from your disappearing house is a matter of just a
few hundred yards.

Speaker 4 (01:49:20):
Yeah, it's not even no more than a quarter of
a mile. Can't mean more than a quarter of a mile.

Speaker 6 (01:49:25):
And I will say that was it.

Speaker 5 (01:49:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:49:29):
Yeah. The thirty seventh parallel is what separates the sand
Hills from the osh Hills.

Speaker 4 (01:49:34):
Yes, yeah, and that's how.

Speaker 6 (01:49:36):
They traveling right through.

Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:49:40):
When they were mapping out the states that they ran,
you know, the thirty seventh parallel ran what is it, Oklahoma,
Kansas and then Colorado, and yeah, all of those are
run right.

Speaker 6 (01:49:53):
That's why there's that line.

Speaker 4 (01:49:55):
Right through there that's so straight, because that's just how
they laid them out.

Speaker 1 (01:50:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:50:00):
So yeah, it's an interesting place for sure. It's really fascinating.
One of these days where we have to, if we
don't solve it, at least make progress on it.

Speaker 6 (01:50:13):
Yeah, all right, are we good on the notebooks?

Speaker 4 (01:50:20):
I want to do it that way. That's a cool
way to do it.

Speaker 6 (01:50:23):
Yeah. It gives me a break too, And I'm not
just reading from the page. It gets a little boring
after a while. So ye, give a little discussion instead.
It's kind of nice, kind of refreshes all of us
on past topics a little bit.

Speaker 4 (01:50:35):
You guys in the chat, you'll have to let us know.
Did you like it that way?

Speaker 3 (01:50:40):
Yeah? Cool? All right?

Speaker 4 (01:50:45):
Oh we lost Mark.

Speaker 5 (01:50:47):
Mark's like, all right, I'm done. I'm not, but yeah, anyway, folks,
fantastic job this year on the paricn It was great.
I felt it ran quite smoothly. There was certainly a
couple hiccups, but nothing that we didn't overcome rather quickly,
I feel.

Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:51:04):
Yeah, we were told that it didn't show, so that's good.
That's always good. We can panic all we want as
long as it doesn't show.

Speaker 6 (01:51:13):
Sylvan said, it's the way we should do it. Awesome.
Thank you for joining us, Chelsea. I told you wouldn't
regret it if you lives. Make sure. So next week
will be border Town Strange, and it's just going to
be uh, Pam and Mark whoever else she invites on.
I'm going to be gone. Well yeah next week, right, yeah,

(01:51:37):
next week, next week, Oh my gosh, yeah, yeah. I
don't know what topic they're going to choose, but I'm
sure whatever they do in my absence will be fabulous.
I'm going to be kicking my feels up or you know,
putting my feet up, because because I'm getting ready to
come into the Halloween season and anybody who knows me

(01:52:00):
knows that I've got the Nightmare on Bradley to put together.
We've already started pulling everything out of storage. Oh my gosh,
a lot. Well, the big thing right now is Beetlejuice.
That's what the kids are clamoring for, and we do
every year. We put out a brand new front feature,

(01:52:21):
something fantastic at the very front that you get to
see when you first walk in, and we try to
change it every year. So it's a big surprise because
we don't put it out all month long. We usually
we start setting up the week of and it is
fully lit and ready to go the night of Halloween.
So that's the first time a lot of these kids
are seeing it. And this year it's going to be
Beetlejuice themed. But I can't say what the front feature

(01:52:45):
is going to be because that would ruin it. So
if you want to know, you have to show up
Phil and get your funnel cake.

Speaker 4 (01:52:52):
Film.

Speaker 1 (01:52:53):
By all means, I mean, if you have kids who
don't have kids swing by. It's awesome. It's been every year.

Speaker 6 (01:53:00):
It's fun. We are moving it partially into the backyard
this year because it's gotten so big. We're gonna have
to start wrapping up back behind that nice to come
by walk through.

Speaker 5 (01:53:10):
So is this going to be Beetlejuice one themed or
Beetle Juice two theme.

Speaker 6 (01:53:16):
I think it's going to be Beetlejuice all THEMEDO cool? Yeah,
because well, I mean, I don't know if you guys know,
but they made a Beetlejuice cartoon in the nineties.

Speaker 4 (01:53:29):
Yes, right, We watch it every morning.

Speaker 3 (01:53:32):
I have the girls. We watch it.

Speaker 4 (01:53:33):
It's on me tuns.

Speaker 6 (01:53:34):
Yeah, and everybody who knows me knows. I paint a
lot of cutouts and stuff for the kids of all
their favorite you know, like Tim Burton cartoon characters and
stuff like that. And the cutouts that I've made are
of the cartoon, Beetlejuice, Lydia and the Dietz's and stuff.
So it's the cartoony fun versions. But we will have

(01:53:57):
like the movie versions added in with some of this
stuff too, so you'll just have to wait and see
come and snack on some funnel cake and get some
candy and walk through and see what all we have
this year?

Speaker 4 (01:54:09):
Rick said, did someone say funnel cake? Yes, yes they do.

Speaker 5 (01:54:12):
They have can a lot of funnel can? How much
funnel cake? Last year?

Speaker 6 (01:54:18):
Last year we went through thirty pounds of dry funnel
cake mix, and this year we bought forty. We're going
to have to cap it at forty though, because we
can only make so much within so many hours. So
happen aty and that well, I mean, we just can't

(01:54:40):
make enough fast enough. You know, that's as fast as
we can make them. So when it ends, it ends,
So we've sold Well I just shouldn't say sold because
we don't sell them. We ran out last year and
the year before, like right at the tail end. So
you have to get here, although I do say if
you're going to, I know you want to come early

(01:55:02):
to get the funnel cake faster, but you really need
to come after dark because everything is just lit.

Speaker 4 (01:55:08):
So so what was your rough head count last year?

Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
Do you remember?

Speaker 6 (01:55:13):
No? I know, so last year we had eight hundred
and sixty three.

Speaker 4 (01:55:17):
That's amazing, love people, that is amazing. Now if you
do if you're outside of Canny and you want to
bring your kids or if you just want to come.
It's you know, Jess has Nightmare on Bradley, but the
whole town goes all out. We still do the door
to door handing out, passing out candy. We have a
house in town that just does cotton candy. It's done

(01:55:38):
it since before I was a kid, and you know,
I'm fifty five, so it's been they've been going. They've
just passed it down generationally.

Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:55:46):
Yeah, and yeah, we have all kinds of fun stuff.
The library gives out popcorn, candy and a book, and
you know they do all the churches do, trunk retreat
downtown and fire station. Yeah, the fire station hands out. Yeah,
it's it's really cool.

Speaker 3 (01:56:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:56:04):
And the best part, this is my favorite part. There's
three churches in town that offer for kids who maybe
have parents who work late, or have parents that maybe
can't get around that well, or you know, live with
their grandparents.

Speaker 5 (01:56:17):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:56:18):
They can be taken and dropping off at these churches
and their costumes with their bags, and they load them
up on these big, huge hayrack rides and they drive
them through town and they stop black by block and
let all these kids off to get their candy and
trick or treat and load back up and they keep
going and then they take them back to the church
at the end and they give them a little mini
party at the end before they send them off back home.

(01:56:40):
So for all the kids who can't get out because
you know, maybe they have parents who work and stuff,
they still have the opportunity to go trick or treating.

Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
Soul supervision, yeah, adult, Yes, I'm just imagining seeing the
hay ride things stopping into a little community and just
oh my god, look coming out and wiping out all.

Speaker 4 (01:57:01):
That's pretty much what happens.

Speaker 6 (01:57:03):
We see him coming in the library because that's where
I work.

Speaker 4 (01:57:07):
We see him coming a block away and we're like, okay,
get ready, here the cab, here's the next way.

Speaker 6 (01:57:11):
You know. Yeah, they like them. They decorate up the
big long wood trailers and they fill them full of
hay so all the kids have seats and there's three
of them that come through. You hear them coming. They
they always know. I always know when they're coming because
they can see us from about two blocks away. They
can see the glow and we have a jack skeleton

(01:57:32):
that stands twenty five feet so it's up over the
tree line. And I always know when they finally see
us because you hear them scream from two blocks away. Yeah,
because they know they're getting ready for some funnel cakes.

Speaker 4 (01:57:46):
So one of our team members, Mikey's in the other
chat and he said that Penny and Whitney handed out
two hundred trick or treat bags last year on their
side of town.

Speaker 6 (01:57:53):
Well, yeah, yeah, I absolutely believe it. Yeah, our next
door neighbors learn very quickly because whatever kids come to
our house are going to go to their house, so
they had better stock up.

Speaker 4 (01:58:08):
And they they rise to the occasion too. In your neighborhood,
so that's what you do. He's a true Halloween's Horror
swarm of candy hungry children, that's the truth.

Speaker 6 (01:58:19):
Yeah. Since we started doing it, the whole neighborhood has
picked up and has started decorating. And it's just I'm
hoping one day it turns into an entire like street
or you know, a couple of blocks full where you
can just go through and every house is decorated and lit.
It should be fun.

Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
So it's so great to be able to give the kids,
you know, our kids and grandkids the same kind of
thing that we had because not everything's the same as
it used to be, but to be able to preserve
this one thing in our little town that's really really special.

Speaker 3 (01:58:50):
I think it is. It is and the town should
be proud of it for sure.

Speaker 6 (01:58:56):
Yeah, all right, do we need to get going? I
know Phil's probably getting It is.

Speaker 3 (01:59:04):
Almost nine o'clock straight up.

Speaker 1 (01:59:06):
Ye won't be any what if tomorrow next week because
I have a soccer game. We've got a few more weeks.
We're done. So with that, Marsh been doing an awesome
job holding none afford.

Speaker 3 (01:59:20):
So hey, thank you so much. I've had the best
help available. Yep, all right, well with that, Uh, everybody,
have a good night, and we will see you in
two weeks here and we will see you a week
from Wednesday on border Town. Strange what are we talking about?

Speaker 4 (01:59:43):
I don't remember, but it'll be cool whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
It is always cool.

Speaker 6 (01:59:48):
It is always Maybe you can grab up Lisa Martin
and do an interview.

Speaker 4 (01:59:52):
That's not a bad idea.

Speaker 3 (01:59:55):
Hear something out?

Speaker 4 (01:59:56):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (02:00:00):
It is about Halloween season, so that sounds about right.

Speaker 6 (02:00:04):
It is.

Speaker 4 (02:00:04):
It's getting close.

Speaker 3 (02:00:06):
Yay, all right, well what's that being said?

Speaker 4 (02:00:10):
Good night, all, good night, everybody, good night, h
