Yeah, dude, that's like the beach I go to all
the time. Yeah yeah, how often do you go back
to Newport? A lot?

My family still lives there, so so I'm there all
the time.

But that's yeah, that's where I grew up. You know.

Like living there, Mexico's amazing and really people are incredible.
The culture is amazing. Food is I can't even imagine.
You come back here, everything tastes like like like bland
chicken soup.

Right, and we have the good Mexican food in California,
you know, and and still.

But well, okay, you know what we thought we did that.

Yeah, the good Mexican food, but we don't.

Out there, and what's incredible is it doesn't matter if
it's Mexican food or you're eating sushi or or Greek
or or what Italian I mean, whatever, whatever it is,
it's they're just better at all of it.

I believe, man. I hear that about Italian food because
I'm Italian and I've never been to Italy, and everyone
just says when you get there, the food's just different
out there.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Different, the ingredients are better. They they they cook, they
cook with love.

Man. Oh, what's the live music scene like there?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
It's amazing, actually, is it really?

And everyone comes through Mexico City, so it's a it's
a lot like la. You know, you get all the
I mean, I just saw Paul McCartney recently. The all
of the big acts.

There's an incredible music scene, the lot of really really
great Mexican bands and artists and Latin artists on the local,
local level and on the national level.

It's it's really incredible.

And do you speak fluent Spanish? No? Really enough to
get by?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Enough to get by? I can, I can order you
some tacos.

I mean, that's more than I can do. What, honestly though,
what is like the secret to learning a new language?
Because I've tried to du a lingo?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Thing to immerse do a lingo? No, bro, it's not.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Worth it for me.

Nah. Well, actually dual lingo is amazing.
Speaker 3 (02:37):

No, full immersion, man, you have to you have to
be using it constantly. You have to be with friends

me in Spanish and correct me when I'm wrong, and
this and and it has to be a complete, full
immersion Otherwise you have to be reading the menus, you
have to be reading books, you have to be all

of the signs around you, all of the billboards, everything
has to be in Spanish.

Otherwise it's you know, no, that's what I got.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Really, that's all I got. That's like all you got. Yeah,
and and and do a lingo. Okay, no disrespect du lingo.
It's fine. I'm sure it works over a long period
of time.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Deal coming from du lingo so I can see.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, you you're you're literally like what you learn. You're
like when am I ever going to be in Mexico
and be like where are my skis?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's snowing? Like what, it doesn't snow in Mexico? Why
am I? Why?

Why am I asking where are my skis? It's snowing,
Like what am I.

Ever going to use this?

And it just puts you, Oh, the bus is by
the college.

Like I'm literally gonna have to like like find a
month key and like drag it to the park and
put it in a tree so that I could say, like, oh,
the monkey is in the tree.

Like creating scenarios just to be able to say what
you want.

Use and elmno is in a lot of boat.

Right, How am I ready to use this? I know
I was trying to learn Italian for a while and
it like it wouldn't let me get out of the
coffee shop. It was teaching me everything in the coffee
shop pastries I'm never going to order. Yeah, Like I'm black,
close in tolerant, I can't even say the milk stuff,
you know, And that's like, oh, it's teaching me exactly.
So one of these days I'm gonna have to do it,
especially being so close to Mexico, Like I want to

learn Spanish, it will be.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
But no, it's full immersion.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Man.

You gotta just you gotta use it.

And you got to not be afraid to make make mistakes,
you know what I mean.

You gotta just like just.

Oh, oh, you didn't use the past ten, so you
need to use the future tense and your That's the
hard part, right is you you learn all your verbs
conjugating all that stuff. But that I'm like, how do
I how do I say that I already did that?
Or how do I say that I'm going to do that?
I know the verb, I know the word, but how
do I say it in the future in the past?

because I was like just intrigued. I was like, wow,
this is so good. But I thought you were fluent.

Yeah, I mean, well no, I'm.

Yeah, I could have full conversations, but I'm probably saying
everything wrong. But it's like it's it's the same with
like my friends who speak English, Like I I have
some really close friends who speak incredible English, but you
give them a pass on things. You know, they're they
they say some things and you're like, okay, I know

what you're trying to say, so I'll respond it this way.
But but that's probably how I speak Spanish. Just like
the door the I'm looking for the store that sells
the chips where it is where it is, right, you know,

My favorite summer activity Hawaii?

summer question, anything you want to hit?
Speaker 4 (06:47):
I just wanted to talk about your new album coming out.
But you're releasing a song every month leading up to
the album. What made you decide that? Well, because we
essentially get pretty much all the songs.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah, because I, uh, because I'm I'm anxious, and I
get I have a release date, but I when I
finished the song, I want to put it out like immediately, and.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Uh and so uh and and it's fun.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Too to be able to uh get feedback from the audience,
from your your fans and things like that, to know
what's the next you know, are people digging this, are
people gonna? Are people liking this? And uh and yeah,
I think it's just my excitement love.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
And like we were talking about how I was at
your show in LA and you played I Found a
Way And obviously that just brought me back to my
childhood so much fun. But I wanted to know what
it was like before me new songs for the crowd
and what their reaction is.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
It was amazing.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
When I played I kind of Relate, which I just
released a couple of months ago.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I stopped after the first.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Line and I was like, wait, you guys know this,
and there were some every single lyric to the and
the whole audience was singing along.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
It's it's so awesome.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I mean, when you have songs like Found a Way
that that you've that people have grown up with and
everyone knows the song and that's it, that's awesome and
it's incredible. But man, when it's a new song and
because you're always you're sitting in your room and you're
writing the song, like, is anyone first of all, is
anyone ever gonna hear this? Is anyone gonna like this?

Is everyone gonna? Is anyone gonna connect with this? And
then you record it, you put it out, you put
the music video out, and then you perform it live
for the first time and everyone sings along.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
It's I mean, you can't even explain that feeling.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
When it's a new song. Are you reading the crowd?
Are you looking at reactions? Like trying to gage it?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Absolutely?
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Like you said at the show, you literally stopped and
like like, wait, you guys know the words?
Speaker 5 (08:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, it was really cool.

Everyone was singing.

Yeah, it was incredible.

I kind of relate is my favorite song to perform,
because that really did start. That started kind of the
list of this entire record. I when I sat down
to and started writing, I didn't know if I was
writing a new album or what I was writing for.
It was like kind of the first time to really
just like sit down and get stuff off my chest
(09:16):
and bang it out on the piano and get the
words out and you know, like writing in a journal,
and it kind of the lyrics were so personal and
so honest and so you know deep. I was like, man,
would I ever put this on an album? Like this
is this is some personal stuff and so now to
(09:39):
be able to and that and that really jump started
the whole album of like, oh, this is going to
be like my truth, Like whoa this is? This is
going to be a deep record. And so playing that
song live now. I mean we just played in it
and thalasco it sounds so cool to like thirty three
(09:59):
th people, fifteen thousand and twenty thousand, all these different
shows and here's an international audience that doesn't speak, you know,
like English is not their first language. And that's one
of the last songs we play in the set, and
as it starts, the piano comes in and the audience
(10:23):
just erupts and then they start singing every lyric that chills.
You're going wow, like this was just something I was
doing in my bedroom.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
And now it's this thing no bigger than.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Now I'm looking at a sea of people that are
singing every lyric to it. It's it's you can't can't
describe it.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Wow, Well we are too, and by the ocean. I'm
gonna be singing in my pool at the rest of
the summer. Yeah, can you tell us a little bit
about how it came to be?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Okay, So I was writing my new album and everything
was so heavy and introspective and not a biographical and
vulnerable and I'm, you know, basically.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Like writing my journal.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Sorry, I think we lost your mic for a se
kiko on though We're going to get it back and
I went.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Into the studio one day and I was like, Okay,
I don't want to write today. I don't want to write.
It's too much.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Whatever words fit that I want to I want to write.
I want to make a fun song, and whatever words
come out, that's the lyric.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Like I'm not I'm not going to think about it.
I'm not going to try and fix it or whatever.

It's like whatever matches, whatever fits, that's it.

No no overthinking, no nothing. And so we were writing
some lyrics.

Like banana hammocks and and you know Senorita's and Margarita's
and bah and it's just it's just kind of you know,
dancing in my speedo slow motion.

I was like, all right, great, you.

because I was like just intrigued. I was like, wow,
this is so good. But I thought you were fluent.

Yeah, I could have full conversations, but I'm probably saying
everything wrong. But it's like it's it's the same with
like my friends who speak English, Like I I have
some really close friends who speak incredible English, but you
give them a pass on things. You know, they're they
they say some things and you're like, okay, I know

what you're trying to say, so I'll respond it this way.
But but that's probably how I speak Spanish. Just like
the door the I'm looking for the store that sells
the chips where it is where it is, right, you know,

My favorite summer activity Hawaii?

The favorite summer activity is being just sitting on the
beach in Hawaii.

Girls. Before we asked the very last song in the
summer question, anything you want to hit?
Speaker 4 (06:47):
I just wanted to talk about your new album coming out.
But you're releasing a song every month leading up to
the album. What made you decide that? Well, because we
essentially get pretty much all the songs.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah, because I, uh, because I'm I'm anxious, and I
get I have a release date, but I when I
finished the song, I want to put it out like immediately, and.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Uh and so uh and and it's fun.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Too to be able to uh get feedback from the audience,
from your your fans and things like that, to know
what's the next you know, are people digging this, are
people gonna? Are people liking this? And uh and yeah,
I think it's just my excitement love.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
And like we were talking about how I was at
your show in LA and you played I Found a
Way And obviously that just brought me back to my
childhood so much fun. But I wanted to know what
it was like before me new songs for the crowd
and what their reaction is.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
It was amazing.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
When I played I kind of Relate, which I just
released a couple of months ago.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I stopped after the first.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Line and I was like, wait, you guys know this,
and there were some every single lyric to the and
the whole audience was singing along.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
It's it's so awesome.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I mean, when you have songs like Found a Way
that that you've that people have grown up with and
everyone knows the song and that's it, that's awesome and
it's incredible. But man, when it's a new song and
because you're always you're sitting in your room and you're
writing the song, like, is anyone first of all, is
anyone ever gonna hear this? Is anyone gonna like this?
(08:19):
Is everyone gonna? Is anyone gonna connect with this? And
then you record it, you put it out, you put
the music video out, and then you perform it live
for the first time and everyone sings along.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
It's I mean, you can't even explain that feeling.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
When it's a new song. Are you reading the crowd?
Are you looking at reactions? Like trying to gage it?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Absolutely?
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Like you said at the show, you literally stopped and
like like, wait, you guys know the words?
Speaker 5 (08:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, it was really cool.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Everyone was singing.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, it was incredible.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Do you have a.

Favorite song that you like love to.
Speaker 2 (08:51):

I kind of relate is my favorite song to perform,
because that really did start. That started kind of the
list of this entire record. I when I sat down
to and started writing, I didn't know if I was
writing a new album or what I was writing for.
It was like kind of the first time to really
just like sit down and get stuff off my chest
(09:16):
and bang it out on the piano and get the
words out and you know, like writing in a journal,
and it kind of the lyrics were so personal and
so honest and so you know deep. I was like, man,
would I ever put this on an album? Like this
is this is some personal stuff and so now to
(09:39):
be able to and that and that really jump started
the whole album of like, oh, this is going to
be like my truth, Like whoa this is? This is
going to be a deep record. And so playing that
song live now. I mean we just played in it
and thalasco it sounds so cool to like thirty three
(09:59):
th people, fifteen thousand and twenty thousand, all these different
shows and here's an international audience that doesn't speak, you know,
like English is not their first language. And that's one
of the last songs we play in the set, and
as it starts, the piano comes in and the audience
(10:23):
just erupts and then they start singing every lyric that chills.
You're going wow, like this was just something I was
doing in my bedroom.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
And now it's this thing no bigger than.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Now I'm looking at a sea of people that are
singing every lyric to it. It's it's you can't can't
describe it.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Wow, Well we are too, and by the ocean. I'm
gonna be singing in my pool at the rest of
the summer. Yeah, can you tell us a little bit
about how it came to be?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Okay, So I was writing my new album and everything
was so heavy and introspective and not a biographical and
vulnerable and I'm, you know, basically.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Like writing my journal.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Sorry, I think we lost your mic for a se
kiko on though We're going to get it back and
I went.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Into the studio one day and I was like, Okay,
I don't want to write today. I don't want to write.
It's too much.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Whatever words fit that I want to I want to write.
I want to make a fun song, and whatever words
come out, that's the lyric.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Like I'm not I'm not going to think about it.
I'm not going to try and fix it or whatever.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
It's like whatever matches, whatever fits, that's it.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
No no overthinking, no nothing. And so we were writing
some lyrics.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Like banana hammocks and and you know Senorita's and Margarita's
and bah and it's just it's just kind of you know,
dancing in my speedo slow motion.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
I was like, all right, great, you.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Know I I one of the lyrics I love in
that because I love the show always it's always sunny
in Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
There's a lyric that's like.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Like Philly, I'm always Sonny and I'm like, yeah, boom done.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Like so it's just a nonsense, total nonsense song.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Dude, I can't wait to be at the beach, just

And I spent my last dollar on this bus to
the beach. Yeah, I brought my hand sanitizer and a
bottle of bleach.
