(00:00):
Okay, I'm crying. Okay, let's go and turn it up. Another
standard disclaimer. This is not theofficial intro for the On the Playliffs podcast,
an iHeartRadio podcast Friday. What's up, dude speak? Fridays feel better

(00:29):
to me, guys. I'm reallyglad we decided off the air, but
that we're going to do this onFriday. I agree. Nice. The
weekend's ahead of us. It's likebrighter in the room. I know.
I was literally listening to the songsand I was like usually, I'm like,
oh, they came out on Friday, and like, wait, they
come out today? They did?I like the excitement still fresh. Yeah,
the mood feels lighter too. Ifeel like, I think, so

(00:49):
doo, we're going into a niceweekend. You guys got any cool plans
for the weekend? I do?Actually, ok too, MICHAELA. You
want to go first reading them thesaga worts tomorrow? Are you really?
Yeah? Red carpet interviews stuff. So I'm stressed about a dress because it's
black tie. Okay, So nowit's got to be like a really nice
black dress or what panic ordered?Like truly six hundred dollars worth of dresses

(01:11):
how to order different sizes, andI hate all of them except one.
So after this, that's where I'mgoing. So you're just having like a
fat fashion show in your room, just trying to Yeah, a bunch of
d can you? Is it weird? Never mind? Marley, what are
you doing this? Wait? Iwant to know how you got work,
how you got to work with theSaga works. So my friend Christy,
who I work on the podcast with, she does all of the red carpets,

(01:34):
and so they needed an extra hand. And Kaitlin, you know,
she always does it. She doesit through Chrissy too, like a Freeland
side thing. Well that's all becausewe have experience, Like they're like,
oh yeah, we you know,we trust you to help out. So
it's like wrangling artists to do.Have you ever done it before? I
mean I've worked with carpet stuff, but not for SAG. Not for SAG.
That'll be so cool. Yeah,it's super cool. I can't wait
to recap that. Marley, whatdo you? What are you doing this

(01:55):
weekend? I'm actually headed to SanDiego tonight. One of my friends is
celebrating her birthday a weekend early, and we're doing an unhinged T shirt exchange
and then okay, tell me tothe bar. What is an unhinged T
shirt exchange? So it was likethis this trend on TikTok, like through

(02:15):
Christmas where people would do like whiteelephant secret Santa type gifts, okay with
like unhinged trucker hats where they wouldsay, like shirt, I think things
on the trucker hats and then whicheverone you pulled you had to wear the
bar to that that night. Yeah, similar concept just T shirts. So
everyone purchased an unhinged T shirt,We're gonna throw it all in a bag

(02:37):
and everyone's going to randomly grab oneand you have to wear it to the
bar. What is your unhinged Tshirt? What did you bring so my
unhinged T shirt? It's not superunhinged? I kind of, you know,
same as MICHAELA Panic bought a lotof stuff this week on Amazon because
it kind of slipped my mind asI'm busy, But I bought a Twilight
themed T shirt like super cringe andit's kind of But most people that I've

(03:01):
told what it is would say thatthey would on ironically wear it. I
believe that, I honestly believe it. I'm intrigued to see the response that
I'll get. But I feel likeTwilight T shirts have like that style has
come back around, where if Isaw someone wearing one in the office,
I'd be like, yeah, thatmakes sense, it makes sense. Yeah,
it's kind of like a band teain a weird way, you know.

(03:21):
So the shirt, the shirt thatI bought, it's a giant pink
heart on a black T shirt withJacob's face in the middle, and around
it says this is worse than Ithought. Around it says Bella, where
the hell have you been? Loco? Yeah, okay, of course it
does the most Twilight shirt you couldhave said. Yeah, so that's the

(03:44):
one that I will be bringing tothe party. So I did. My
fun plans were last weekend we wenton a road trip to Yosemite. But
my girlfriend came and brought her friends, and I brought my roommates and my
friends. And this was like thefirst time our friend groups have ever really
hung out with each other. Interesting, and it was out on a group
trip in an airbnb. Oh,how is that kind of nervous because,
as you guys know, my friendsare sycopass. Absolutely wait read me.

(04:09):
I think Cameron's like postcap and Iwas crying, so I was very,
very nervous, but it went well. But have you guys ever played Mafia
when I was a kid. Ithink some people call it Secret Hitler it's
oh, but I called it Mafia. There's also like I'm forgetting, like
not Cops and Robbers, but likesomething similar to that too. There's different

(04:30):
there's different names for us. Ithink one of them is called like Wolverine
or something. There's like the Wolves. It's one of those games where like
you designate certain people to be certainroles, but the entire game everyone's essentially
trying to lie to each other. To win the game, you have to
lie. And playing this with newpeople that you've never met really before,
I think is a terrible idea I'velearned, because then you start to just

(04:55):
see the worst sides of people likethey were you can't trust anyone, like
lying to people's faces. I hadto win the game, So I'm like,
in this game, I'm a Mafiamember, but I'm trying to convince
people that I'm not. So I'mlike screaming across the room, like trying
to convince all of these people thatI'm not this Mafia member in the game.
And then after the game, Iwas like, was that worth it?

(05:15):
Was that worth winning the game?Because now because those games get so
heated, so heated, and youjust see the worst sides of people,
and I'm like, I don't knowif that was a good first impression,
you know, true, so battlingthat anyway. I'm hanging out with some
of them tonight, so we'll seeif it rubbed off onto the next weekend.
But hey, welcome on the playlist. I'm John Camunci. This is
Mikayla checking in Marley's with us again. Hello. Well, we'll get to

(05:39):
the new music in a minute.I kind of want to run down some
of the big news in music thisweek. One, I just want to
give more credit to Beyonce for TexasGot I meant to turn the song down.
I turned myself down instead winning howthat happened? But Texas Hold Them

(06:01):
was number two on the Billboard Hotone hundred. Impressive. Do you know
what song is number one? Becauseit shocked me? Is it Tate McCray?
No? Oh, it's Jack Harlowloving on me? Really? Is
that interesting? When I saw that, I was like, how did Beyonce
not win number one, But howis that number one? How is it
still my question? I mean obviouslyit was, you know, a song

(06:25):
for and it still is. Hada moment on TikTok. I wouldn't expect
it to still be number one.Wait, I wish I had a clip
because I've been seeing people compare theTexas Hold Them song to Franklin theme song
as a kid. Wait, I'veseen that too. Frankly, I never

(06:46):
really does you know? They playedit and I was like, oh,
this is Franklin's theme song. Theyshowed like the turtle in the beginning,
and I was like, wait, this is that They're actually playing Beyonce song.
I've been seeing so many people takeold Beyonce songs and then remixing them
into country songs now, so likesingle ladies with some horses nang in the
background, So it works kind ofdoes. Yeah, it's wild. But

(07:12):
Beyonce became the first black woman totop the Country Songs chart. She's also
the first woman in general to topboth the Country Songs chart and the R
and B hip Hop Songs chart. She topped like nine different charts on Billboard,
which is just insane to see butthat Billboard Hot one is down this
week to Jack carl I feel likenext time they come out, she'll be
on top. But is absurd, and it's probably all because of that dude

(07:35):
with the Rubik's Cube. Did yousee that guy on TikTok. No,
it's this like nerdy white guy, respectfully nerdy white guy, and he's he's
solving this Rubik's cube like while lookingat you in the camera like kind of
seductively. I'm already creeped out.And it's to the song Leving on Me,
and it's just all of these peopleare like, wait, I think

(07:55):
I like white boys now. Andit's like an appeal because it's like some
kind of nerd attractiveness. But it'sto that Jack Carlow song, and essentially
their claiming that Jack Carlow is justlike giving birth to like the sexy white
guy right now. Now. Thiswas like months ago, so don't know
why it's still trending, but anyway, there's your I have no comment.

(08:16):
It's just so funny. I know, it's kind of absurd. This week,
Mattie Healy said the nineteen seventy fiveis working on new music love.
I thought they were going on likehiatis. That's what I'm confused. I
think, I think what I thinkwhat happened. Marley's hands are up,
Pause everything and listen. Listen tome. What I think happened is one

(08:41):
of his like speeches on stage wasmisconstrued as we're going on hiatus. Oh,
so I think everyone took that, and I mean, I could be
so wrong, but that's what Iassumed happened, is that he said something
like, oh, we're gonna begoing away for a while, or went
on some kind of tangent that hedoes, and it got misconstrued as a

(09:01):
hiatus. I see that, ormaybe he like set said it and didn't
actually, I don't know. Hesays a lot of shit. Yeah,
But either way, I'm just gladthat that they're still coming out with new
music. Billy Eist just said heralbum is done being mastered, so her
new music is going to be comingout sooner than we realized. Sick Olivia
Rodrigo and Noah Khan they're releasing eachother's lounge covers of each other's songs for

(09:24):
National Record So excited for that.So that's Lucy for Lacy. Wow,
Okay, you're okay? Difference andStick Season for Olivia Rodrigo. But I
was hoping that that because I sawthat post, I was really hoping it
would be the collab on Stick Season. I don't want to give up hope
for that that. I don't wantto like it can happen. That remix

(09:46):
on TikTok is one of the bestremixes I have heard in so long.
It's so good. It's so good. We're playing it on radio like it's
in our system. I mean noton our station, but like I can
see it in the system that otherstations are playing it. And I I
got so excited because I saw iton the New Music Friday and I was
like, oh my god, they'redoing it. How did we not know
about this? Like I was soshocked. And then I looked it up

(10:07):
and it's just the remix from TikTok, But I mean it's made such as
s for it one day too.I need some kind of some kind of
collab between them, and if anyonecan make it happen, it's Noacon.
Oh yeah, So all right,a bunch of new music out today.
Let's pass the OX and get toit. So I separate my songs into

(10:30):
different tears, and in my opinion, like a Tier one song is a
song you can play at anytime.I'm choking, I know, I keep
I'm distracted by I don't know myspit. I don't know what the heck.
Okay, what's what's in there? Is that? Stanley? Of course

(10:50):
it is a straw side. It'sfrom work. I didn't pay for it.
Okay. That looks like there's justa sticker you put on top of
it. It's not actually very custom. No else can get this, thank
you very much, especially in thepaint. But you could have gotten one
that was engraved, but that one'snot as unique as anyone can get the
dump. But this one is.Wait, so you have a one or
two point seven kiss FM stand yepfrom Stanley? I hate that. That's

(11:11):
sick? Is it? Because thefirst time of use it? Because the
whole lead situation, so I justcan't. Oh yeah, what was the
deal with that? They just havelead? And so now people are suing
Stanley. I think it's just someof them, right, So I think
if they say if it's damaged, that's when the lead is released, so
I can't damage it like maybe dentedscratch, something like that. But if
you really bust it open, yeah, that's when the lead comes spewing out

(11:33):
at you. What happens when youget lead anyway? Brain damage? Oh,
has no idea. I don't know, to be honest, maybe a
lot of things. Yeah, youdon't know. It can't hurt you,
that's saying is so true though,Like I just found out that you can
get an eyelash stuck inside your eyewith the color part is I forgotten your
iris? An eyelash it can goinside if that's why they say don't rub

(11:56):
your eye. Yeah, that that'ssomething I wish I never knew, because
now I'm never rubbing my eyes again. Yeah, I wish. Do you
guys have seen in the video becauselet me tell you, no, please
don't. I don't want to seeit. Apparently our house has asbestos.
Do you know what that is done? That's bad, that's what I hear.
That's what he hears. Well,babes shouldn't. Well, let's go
back to the cockroach story from afew months. Okay, but that's you're

(12:16):
not going to die. It's besista lot. But his house is not
in grape game. Okay, holdon, let's just hang on a minute.
Okay, asbestos has nothing to dowith what I'm doing. Apparently it
was built with I don't know, bad equipment that they didn't know back in
the day. Because I have anold house. It was built like pre
nineteen fifty, so some of thematerials they used had asbestos. That's bad,

(12:37):
though. That has none to dowith the cockroaches. And we're gonna
leave that back in twenty twenty threewhere that happened, the cockroaches doing one
of my favorites. Well, toget rid of the cockroaches. Yeah,
no, they just kind of wentaway. No, that doesn't happen.
But okay, well then they're justliving underneath the house as long as again,
if you don't see it, itcan't hurt you. Done. You

(12:58):
probably literally one probably when your mouthwhen you was sleeping. Honest, Okay,
I stand by my statement I saidearlier, I when I first saw
Okay, so I had cockroaches inmy house last year. It's a long
time ago, very very very longtime ago. Three months ago. When
I had those cockroaches. It itreally took me weeks to be able to
fall asleep in my room. LikeI get so scared about that kind of
stuff. Yeah, but they're gonenow. I had a moth in my

(13:20):
room. I was scared. Itold uscon not to kill it. Though,
why why? Because then I feelbad. Usually when I was a
kid, I would cup them likeand let them fly around of my hand
and then throw them with set AndI didn't get to do that. Don't
do that anymore. I let itfly around my room. I don't have
an access to outside. I guesslast night I killed it, like they

(13:41):
don't? You killed it? Ohwow, you've changed IoT so bad.
I was like, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I did. John
killed a bug in the elevator yesterday. It was just like some stupid and
he goes whenever you see this bugon the wall, think of me,
I didn't clean. I have thisthing where if I feel like if I

(14:03):
do the work to kill a bug, I don't have to do the work
to clean it. Like I havethis thought mad, there's a there's a
spider. Okay, I've told you. Did you wipe it? Like?
How did you kill it with yourhand? Oh? John? Why?
I cooked it with my little indexfinger left the way we did. But
so I have this spider in myroom. I was laying in bed one
night and I looked up and there'sa spider that was crying on my ceiling.

(14:26):
And I have this rule when Iwas a kid how I got myself
not scared of spiders anymore, asI told myself I would just kill them
because then they can't hurt me.So anyway, I killed spiders hurt you
anyway. But some of them will. Some of them will, But this
one I don't know. So Ikilled it on my ceiling probably four years
ago, still up there. Whatif if it's a carcass, it probably

(14:48):
is. Well, I'm surprised thatit hasn't. In my mind like it
will deter other spiders trump coming intomy room because I'm like, oh,
he died there. We can't messwith this guy in his bed. I
have a fear of killing spiders becauseI feel like they're going to fall on
me, especially in the ceiling.Done. But you squished it and then
it usually falls so yours. Idon't know how it stuck to He just

(15:11):
squishes it so hard that it likebecomes part of the wall. Yeah,
you can't like hesitate, you know, you just got to like all the
way I may dest it like Iscreamed for her, and she does it,
and then if not, I'm sleepingon the couch. Until sometimes I
just ignore them and hope ignore all. But then then they say that you
eat them. I gotta be youeat so many a year they say,

(15:33):
they say, who's they? Youknow, the experts? Made up experts?
Okay, but like that's what Ithink about now, because I think
that, I'm like, Okay,if I don't kill it, I could
potentially eat it in my sleep.Anyway, if you don't think about it,
it doesn't And that's why the asbestos. I'm not thinking about it,
and they're not coming to check itout for like two more weeks, I
guess the inspector guy's busy. Sothey're like, oh, well, come
out in two weeks. Is ityour wall? Like how did you find

(15:54):
this out? Yeah, So it'sbeen raining a lot here in LA and
so we had some guy because wehad a leak in our house. So
this guy came to check it andhe was like, oh, that's probably
like asbestos. So he checked itand it was, but he didn't mean
mold. You can't see asbesis.I thought he tested for it. But
because you have popcorn ceiling. No, okay, so popcorn ceiling has has

(16:15):
it underneath. It's like only ifit starts like you'd start taking it down,
Like people have to come in ifyou want to remove They wear like
those suits like the masks or whatever, like the Monster's inc Suits. Yeah
exactly. So yeah here twenty thirtynineteen, and so that's like the only
if that rips off like that exposesyou to that And I thought that was
bad. So like, are youbeing exposed? I honestly don't know,

(16:37):
because the guys were supposed to comecheck it out to make sure it wasn't
in the rest of the house andthey're not for another two weeks. So
we're all planning our make wishes rightnow. I mean no, I think
you have to worry more about molds. I think so too. I just
want to go to space. Myroommate Evan, who you know, wants
a double double from In and Out. That's his makeawish. Wow, I
want to dream big for the starson that. It's really dreaming vague anyway,

(17:02):
So what are we talking about?Back to the music? So wow,
Yeah, look, see we startedthis podcast before we like talked a
lot of the time, we'll talkfor ten minutes before we start. Now
we're really getting the catch up inhere. But anyway, so I I
separate my music into tears, andin my mind, a Tier one song

(17:22):
is like you could listen to itat anytime. It's the best of the
best, right It Like a songhas to be really really good to get
into my Tier one playlist. Idon't think any songs this week landed in
it, but still some good ones. Let's run down the Let's run down
the biggest releases. First, obviously, we had this new release from Justin
Timberlake Sage. I mean, Ilike it. It repris me like his

(18:00):
older stuff, but I'm not like, oh my gosh yet anyway, right,
it kind of reminded me of thatera of Apologize by One Republic.
Okay, yeah, Like that's thekind of vibe I was getting from the
song when I listened to it,and I personally loved that era of One
Republic. Yeah, so yeah,it reminded me of a song and that

(18:22):
must be it. Yeah. Italso just it does sound like old Justin
Timberlake, which I do love too. So I like the song for sure.
I think my only, My onlycritique is I almost felt like the
lyrics were too too wide, likeit wasn't narrow enough. He's saying,
like, you let me drown, you didn't even try to save me,
And he's like, I should havebelieved that you were bad the whole time.
It just wasn't specific enough. Itjust felt too generic. And maybe

(18:45):
if you're a bigger pop star,I just start assuming you mean there's just
like no real depth lyrics. Yes, thank you. That's a way better
way of putting it. There's notenough depth, enough depth to the lyrics
here. But I just kind ofliked that it sounded nostalgia but also like
fresh at the same time. Yeah, I do agree with that, but
I get what you're saying. I'malso waiting from because like justin Timberlake a

(19:06):
lot of the time will have theseseven to eight minute songs. For the
last two minutes, it's an entirelydifferent breakdown of a song. Right,
we're not really getting that yet.You know, these songs are relatively short.
I mean, this song sounds alittle bit different at the very very
end, But either way, Iliked it. I give it. I
give it a good seven point fiveout of ten. Okay, it seems
like a fair rating. How's Ifeel so good? We got this new

(19:29):
song from Selena Gomez kind of abanger. It is a banger. I
like a little bit more. Youdon't like this one, feeling it feeling
I'm not interesting love her, butI it's almost kind of like what you

(19:51):
said, it's not enough depth inthe song, like lyrics, like you
know, like I love all ofher other music. Was that one that's
still like on the charts right nowsoon that one, but the other one
featuring her, I think, oh, calm Down, Yeah, it's rema
like all those songs are great.I love it, like and I can't
stop at this one. I waslike, eh, I feel like it
was a little hyped up. Yeah, we get a lot of even on
our text line on the station becausewe played Calm Down quite a bit.

(20:15):
That's I think a very divisive song. There are a lot of people who
aren't feeling it as much. Iam one of those. Yeah, I
get it, I get it.That's one of the ones where you love
it or you hate it. ButI love this one because it was very
like it was still dancy like singlesoon. Yeah, but I don't know
I thought it was fun. Idid too. This one. She released
a music video with it, andit's like very French inspired, like she's

(20:38):
known to really love Paris. Itwas directed by a French director. She
makes some nods about French things liketartar in there, sure the opening,
I think lines of the video arein French. And then also like do
we think it's a lot of peopleare wondering if it's about Benny Blanco,
but I feel like that's too soon. What is too soon? Because how

(21:02):
long have they've been dating? Yeah, they've been talking for I know they've
been friends for a while. LikeI think they've probably been seeing each other
for quite some time. When theycame out, it was like a hard
launch, like they were so comfortablewith each other, and you'd imagine,
as a celebrity, you're probably busyand before I mean you even hard launch
a relationship, like it usually takessome time before you're ready to do that,
so yeah, you can be right. Well. There were also some
clips of her and her like cookingshow segment where you know, someone's like

(21:26):
commenting on why she's smiling at atext or something, and she's like,
Oh, it's just this guy like, and everyone speculates that that's Benny Blanco.
Still, so Moses, who workswith us, Oh, didn't mean
to call him out by name, but tool always. He works in a
digital department here and he's got apicture of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco above
his desk because he says that ifBenny Blanco can get Selena Gomez, then

(21:52):
he's got a shot. Like Ijust it made me laugh. It made
me laugh, Moses, Moses,Sorry, MOST didn't mean to call you
out on the pod like that, but there it is. I don't want
to rate songs all the time, but today I'm kind of liking this,
So I'm gonna give this one sevenpoint seven point nine. I think it's
just below an eight for me.Okay, I'd give it an eight.

(22:15):
Okay, I like the eight.Oh, okay, was giving me like
a sixers. Oh even, Igotta I gotta spend more time on it,
Okay, you do, I think, yeah, it might grow on
you. You never know. Sothere was a new song from Enryque Glacis
and Miranda Lambert. I almost didn'treally talk about this one, but I
think it's no because I recorded it. I like, oh, I say,

(22:41):
this is Clifton. I was like, I don't know if I want
to talk about it, but wehave to mention it because it's so different
and they sound actually so good togetherwith like the harmonies and like the chorus.
So that's why Marley, okay, that I do agree with. I'm
sorry, I didn't mean to callyou out like that. It was fun,
but I agreed with what Donald wassaying because I think Marley was thinking
we were the same page of like, oh we we didn't want to talk

(23:02):
about it, but then they're like, last minute wanted to. Because I
feel like with a genre blend likethis, it is interesting. We've had
so many of those this year. You have Mike Michael Buble and Jason Derulo
going Stefani and Blake Shelton. Wehave Beyonce going country. We have Post
Malone and Luke COM's doing something together. So there's a lot of different genre

(23:22):
blends and so this one Enrique Iglesiasand Miranda Lambert felt interesting. And you're
right, I think the voices soundgood together, but I'm not one hundred
percent sure on how I feel aboutthe songs. Me. It's like,

(23:52):
that's what I like the most aboutit's probably the chorus. Yeah, that
was it. It's also a shortsong. I think it's like under three
minutes, but I don't know.I don't know how I feel it's worth
to Mension. It wasn't my Itwasn't my favorite. This week wasn't quite
for me. But when I did, like, let's just go into some
of the personal picks now, ourboy Knocks came out with a song called
Me Myself. You know We're back. Absolute banger. It's a banger,

(24:33):
absolutely, and this guy just heit's always a banger. And I appreciate
that the intros to his songs alwaysget you in the first couple of seconds
too, because this one started offgreat to me. It comes in all
soft and then just it's a party, so good. Leave it to him

(24:55):
to do like a sweet sentimental likedance track. Yes, exactly, just
like the like just these early twothousands. Just I don't know. I
wouldn't say it's pop punk really, but like kind of you know that sound.
Sure, it reminds me so muchof these like all American rejects type
sound. Yeah, we just wantto go and just scream and it's kind

(25:15):
of a rock show. But apop rock show. Hm, So I
think he really really nails that. He's coming into the studio this coming Wednesday.
Guys, I can't Wain's playing aprivate performance. Super excited to hear
some of these songs live. It'sI believe it's gonna be acoustic too,
which is kind of nice. We'llhear some acoustic versions. I'm excited.
I know it's different because he hassuch, you know, guitar driven songs

(25:37):
like but this is like acoustics,So I'm excited to hear it. But
also, don do you think you'llremember you? No? Okay, I
don't think I remember us. SoI'm hosting the show and I posted some
vide because we're giving out a lotof free tickets on our station. So
we're doing a social contest and ifyou're listening and you're from LA and you
want to go, yeah, literallyhit us up on our socials. You
can check out one O four tothree MIFM social. We're giving out a

(25:57):
bunch of tickets Sunday night, thelast time to enter for it. But
we're really just choosing a lot ofpeople on social to come join us.
But at the end of the video, I made essentially publicizing that that performance.
I put the photo that we alltook with Knox last time, We're
all in it. I doubt heremembers that he was meeting a bunch of
people after the show. I wasn'tgonna say that, But why did I

(26:22):
hate the way looking at Froom likeleaning on him, I'm like, am
I good? Hold my balance?I think I don't know. It was
a Friday night too, and Ithink after Yeah, we had just like
hung out with Nightly that day.We were hype, we were hot,
so hyped. Yeah. I almostdidn't want to go say hid to Knocks
because I was like, I feellike, I'm I know you were the
one that like forced it, andlike I was like, we gotta go

(26:45):
say a picture. Yeah, look, I'd like blur out my bud light
and to bud Light. But exact, I feel like he's going to be
a good hang. You know. One of my friends from Boston interviewed when
he was in town, and hejust seems like such a chill, fun
guy. It does and everything hetalks about, I feel like I share
interest with him. He was wearinglike a superhero spider Man shirt. He

(27:07):
was at the concert, he sayshe loves playing with Lego, so I
just feel like he's just gonna beone of the homies. Yeah. He
said that one of his like dreamsis to have a house where he has
a whole room like Lego room.I love it. I was watching this
this random like Lego special that someso many random houses do have either Lego
rooms or Lego installations, and Zin his house, built into one of

(27:30):
his walls has an entire Lego nightclub. Like one of one of the walls
opens and it's z DJ Little Lego'shead entire Lego nightclub. And I was
like, that's just dumb money. It is when you can kick out part
of your wall and just build aLego club. Ridiculous. But excited to
see Knox because I was an absolutebanger this week. That okay, so

(27:55):
I think he's playing three songs. This is gonna be very inside. But
let's let's try and put the threesongs going to be Sneakers, Sneakers,
not the nineteen and this new one. I think, okay, yeah,
maybe the Randow and me myself rise. I can't throw on the internet.
I don't think he'll sing that oneon either he I don't know if he
did the hits. He didn't reallypromote that one as much as he did
this one. Yeah, which isinteresting because that's another banger too, very

(28:18):
good. Yeah, so we thinkSneakers not the nineteen and then one.
Okay, yeah, That's what I'mgoing with. But yeah again, you
can hit us up. We aredefinitely picking winners from our socials for that
show. If you like pop punktype music, he's he's the guy.
So a couple of other releases beforeI close out here, I just Bleachers
came out with another new song. It's called take Another Train, Girl with

(28:44):
a news Plane. That was metoo. It was before you I know
said this a lot lately, butBleachers, what's up? Welcome to my
playlist. I'm glad you brought themup, honestly, said saved too.
But then I was like, Ifeel like Donal, I did care for
Bleachers before before this like new sound, and I know, Mickayla you kind

(29:06):
of feel the opposite way then, like you love the old sound more.
But what's up? Nice to meetyou, Bleachers, Minn. You're all
over my playlist now. It's beenreally nice. I love all this music.
He's got like a sax solo inhere. It's just very like,
ah, well, we saw himsomething. We saw Bleachers perform at our
theater a couple of weeks ago forthe album Relief, for the album So
Mad. I miss that and they, you know, they had the saxophone

(29:29):
player. They they did this song. It was so cool. Did it
Did it give similar vibes? MICHAELA. You saw the nineteen seventy five at
our other show recently at Alter Ego. Did it give those same vibes?
What do you mean? Because,Uh, the nineteen seventy five came out
with a sax solo too, Likethey had a live sax player, and
it just gave me these Oh saxlive in general is just amazing. But

(29:51):
also these songs just are so differentlive too. Really, Like when he
was singing the new stuff, Iwas like, I just love it even
more really live. They're just soenergenic on stage too. I feel like
his older songs do hit a littlebit harder, like with the crowd.
Definitely, these are a little bitmore, yes, but still the sacks
and like them just on stage, like it was a vibe. Yeah,

(30:12):
it's a vibe. Speaking of vibe, love came out with a song called
That to You. I kind ofliked this one too. Wow, okay,
my new my new favor. Canit replace the other one? Is

(30:33):
it really tough? I mean theother one? I Love you like that?
Oh yeah, Yeah, he's comingout with some good new songs recently.
And just leave it to him foryou don't like that song the love
you like that? Yeah, it'snot my favorite thing. You just me.
I love I love love, Ilove love too, I love love,

(30:56):
I love love. And he's sucha good performer and Tokyo, I
was like, gotta see him again. It's just it's just a vibe,
little pop track that always has anice beat to it, like you can
always count on him for that,I think, you know. Uh.
And then I want to close outwith a song that's a collab between Cheek
Codes and Two Friends. It's calledThe Way It Is you'll hear the song
gets sampled from that old nineteen eightysix Bruce Win. It's just that's the

(31:33):
set kind of fun dance track here. This is my dance track pick of
the week. Are you familiar withthe Big Booty mixes? Both of you
guys? Correct? Yes, alittle bit So two friends two DJs,
two friends who are DJs, butthey're called two Friends Show Yes. So
they've been putting out mixes for yearsnow called Big Booty Mixes, right,

(31:56):
and they're an hour long, andthey really gained so much popularity because they
essentially just take songs from all differentgenres of music and they mesh them all
together. And for like an addmind like mine, where you get bored
of a song really fast, itchanges immediately and it incorporates all these different
genres of music into a fun danceessentially our long mix. And I love
that for them, Like that's whyI can play them when anyone's over,

(32:20):
even if you're not really into EDM, because they're all single, long songs
that you know, which is reallynice. This song sounds to me like
it could just be dropped in therehot take. Though as much as I
love both of them, respect bothof them separately, I love the song.
It's a banger. This song issuch a staple, I think,
and like even the Tupac version ofit is just such a staple from back
in the nineties that I don't know. I think I was expecting more.

(32:43):
I think, hm, I canagree you know. I think it's it's
one of those iconic songs that, like, I feel like, if you're
gonna sample it or remix it,you gotta make something that is just epic.
I feel like you can't touch someof the most iconic songs. Yeah,
and just put it in a throwawaytrack. Not that it's a throway
track, no, just back boys. Love you both. I think it's
fun, but I think I justexcreeded more. Yeah, I expect a

(33:05):
lot when you're using such an iconictrack like that, you know, will
you play the beginning of it againone more time? Absolutely? I like
the kind of a banger that thatlike kind is better. It like tickles

(33:31):
something in my brain, you knowwhat I mean. Yeah, it's just
such an iconic little especially Yeah.Yeah, but I agree with you,
MICHAELA. I think it was thedrop that that messed me up. I
think so too. I love thebeginning and did something else. I'm with
you, So that's it for me. Taking out my oh if I can
find it, they just okay, passing over to Kayla. Sure, both

(33:57):
of you. I didn't get yournames can fused. I just went to
Marley and she pointed to MICHAELA.But here you go playing you in all
right, all right. So thefirst song that I have is from Winneka
Bowling League called La La La LaLa Biby Right, So I just think

(34:27):
it's a catchy alt pop track withlike a dreamy vibe. And the lead
singer do you know who he is? I don't think so. Isn't he
married to Hillary Duscher is Matthew CoomaAnd he's like a huge Oh Matthew Coma.
Yeah. Yeah, he's on abunch of different medium tracks. Yeah,
and he's like a producer, likehe's worked on a bunch of stuff
with maj the Artists. But he'sgot some good songs of his own too.
Yeah. Yeah. And its bandand I've seen them live and they're

(34:49):
so fun too, kind of likea Bleachers vibe where they just like just
gonna say this song kind of soundedlike that vibe. I didn't know he
had a band. I don't know. Yeah, huh. Yeah. They're
actually coming to La playing the Palateon April sixth. I love the play
so fun, they're fun. MaybeHillary will be there. There's a few
songs of theirs that are I don'twant to say, like they're just like

(35:09):
a few years ago that I reallyreal CBS. Is that that so fun?
They have good So it was calledlike Diana or something. I was
really into it back in like twentyseventeen or something like that. But anyway,
I guess well. He said thatthis song is about getting older,
romanticizing the past, and forgetting allthe imperfections that accompanied the highlights. And
it's so interesting to think about becauselooking back on your life, you only

(35:31):
think about the positives and the funmemories, whereas there's so many things in
between that either allowed that to happen, or the challenges, the broken hearts,
Like you know, a relationship. It's joyful in the beginning, but
maybe things happened in between, butyou still remember those moments so true,
and I just think it's a lotgets lost in there. Yeah, and
it's the interesting way. So it'skind of like a dreamy vibe where you're

(35:53):
like, you wish it was asperfect as it seems, but there were,
you know, things that weren't asperfect. Yeah, it's really interesting,
but it's a fun song and I'mexcited to hear more of the new
music. So let's do it.Do it? Maybe it's on a weekend.
Wait when did you say it was? But you said you said maybe
it's on a weekend. I thinkit is because my birthday is the ninth,

(36:14):
on a Tuesday, so I thinkit is. Okay, April six
is a Saturday. All right,we're back. I'm there perfect and their
opening act is Oh my god, wave what is it? Wavelength th who
We'll get back? Wait, yeah, I think you liked them. Marley

(36:34):
thinks you like I come on,Marle Digress. Okay, So my second
song is from one of my favoritebands that I talk about a lot,
fly By Midnight Dudes. I'm sosorry he always does this to me because
so eager to hit the button.Yeah, well, you have your hand
up and you're like talking with yourhands. But sometimes its my sentence no,
but sometimes it looks like you're pointingit. I'm Italian. I'm actually

(36:58):
i am. But the song isjust a vibe like anything they released is
catchy. So here it is like, what, yeah, that was good.

(37:25):
I feel like this blends that dreamysound that we've been talking about,
but also with like a rock kindof feel, you know, it's almost
like pop rock, but then withthat dreamy feel it's nice that it combines
all of that. I really enjoyedthat one. And it's funny you mentioned
that, John, because I eventold this to them. Their music is
so detailed with like the production andthe sounds, like they get so into

(37:47):
it and like you can hear allthe sounds. And I always say that
with their music, and they doit by themselves. It's just these two
guys do it by themselves. Theirown stuff, all of it, and
they write all of it themselves,so it is like maybe they'll have all
they're writers, but usually it's justthem too. And their production is so
well thought out, like you hearevery little detail, and I love that

(38:07):
about their music. I've always foundthat to be so challenging because being a
singer songwriter and just making songs byitself has got to be so challenging.
But sometimes I find myself on theproducer side of TikTok. I don't know
shit about producing, but like it'sso interesting to me because there's so many
different plugins and ways to like bendsound and to make different sounds, and

(38:28):
it just sounds like it would takeweeks, months, years to learn that.
Well, that's why it's a skillin itself Alexander twenty three on My
Mind, which is the release Italked about last week. Yeah, he
put like a ten minute reel onhis Instagram when he dropped it, describing
how he ended up producing the song. Oh man, don't gatekeep I like
that, Yeah, because then peoplecan just learn that way. I think
he does a masterclass or something.Oh does it really something like that?

(38:50):
Yeah? I know he produces witha lot of artists, so yeah,
he must be really good at Yeah. Well, honestly, they're actually coming
to LA on the eighteenth of May, so we should go. I'm going.
This is your Yeah. Yeah,I feel like all of us are
allowed to have like one of yourtier one artists, and like those are
the artists we all have to goto just because you just have to experience

(39:13):
it once. Yeah, like wehave. We have this friend Rebecca and
she's a huge Dan and Chay fanI love you. Just announced their tour.
I think, yes, they're notcoming to LA, but so it
means we're going to San Diego. You guys, pack up. Okay,
it's not fun. We're going.But she d m me and she was
like, okay, like we're goingto the show and like I barely ever
see her, but I know thatshe loves them so much, Like I'd

(39:34):
love to just go with her.Yes, and like the commune with us
exactly exactly. Let's plan a trip. It's a weekday though, Well that's
slowly, you guys can plan atrip. Yeah, I know, that's
that's tough anyway. This song isbasically just trying a little bit harder in
our relationship, like for that deeperintimacy, like like try just a little,

(39:57):
you know, whether like in thebeginning of relationships store you're gonna be
shy, you're not gonna give asmuch, but you know, try to
express your feelings, especially if openup, you know, but love it.
Can't wait to hear more of music. Fly by Midnight always number one
for me. I have one moreactually by an artist that I been seeing

(40:19):
on TikTok, but I didn't knowthat much about her. Her name is
Devin Gabriella. Her EP just cameout today and once on the call my
eye was called talking in your Sleep, And I think this song like,
we'll play it, but I justcould have multiple meanings, but we'll play
it first talking because I just gotto a less song less this is like

(40:58):
you right away, but also that'sthe dreamy vibe again, you know,
and it's just like a thing buta very soft yeah sounds Let's go.
It's so beautiful, but also themeaning behind it, it could have multiple
And I just think it was aclever way to say, you know,
her line and the song stop talkingin your sleep. You know, the

(41:21):
body movements that someone can do towardsyou always can show like what they're feeling
towards you. So I just thinkit was a clever way to either say,
like, she has suspicions of aboyfriend, you know, cheating on
her suspicions. He wants to breakup, but every night he's still ending
up back in her bed, youknow. And so it's just even though
it's kind of a sad song,it's like a vibe beautiful song sing So

(41:43):
are you kind of taking it?Like even though you're not saying much like
when you're not saying things, you'restill giving all the bad. Yeah,
that's the perfect way to interest andyou can just tell like this the way
you've put this like makes me wantto go in and hear all the lyrics.
Now, Yeah, like there's onelines to say, but you come
back every night. I must bedoing something right, you know. But

(42:04):
it's also disrepeating, like you're talkingin your sleep, like I can hear
your movements and this, and thenit's so interesting. So it can be
a bunch of different ways like that. You can interpret this song, but
it's beautiful and I'm excited to hearher. All that's an instant advert.
I thought about this is John's nextfavorite artist, and it started playing.
I was like, this is HollyHummer Stone. Yeah, totally big fan.

(42:28):
All right, that's a few yep. All right, pulling this out?
Do you mind throwing that ox overthere to our friend Marley? Marley?
Oh, good catch? Okay, okay, what's up? Probably my
favorite part of the podcast before Iget started. Dan and Shay will be

(42:51):
performing in Chrua Vista on Friday,September Sex were so you guys are so
okay. I love a friend,so it's a vacation for us. I'll
have to take time off, butyes we should go. We might be
able to make it. I getoff at five thirty. Timeout that going
to happen you're working for Yeah, that's right. We leave, We leave

(43:13):
Thursday night, we write it downhere we go. Well we can't because,
yeah, I have to work Fridaysboth the view. Yeah, well
okay, that's fine. We'll figureit out September. That's like July's problem.
I'm not even worried about it.Martley's working in the car. Yeah
you can work remote, right,I'm Marty sick thinking about it, Okay
for anyway. So my pick ofthe week, I only have one because

(43:36):
we've kind of already discussed all theother ones, was by Sam McPherson.
He released a song called I Don'tWant to See You Try. He's been
teasing it for quite some time now, to the point where I was like,
are you ever going to release guess? Please release it? I need
it. That's what I felt withhim with Backseat, just like it was
teased from months. Yeah, butit didn't disappoint. He kind of describes

(44:00):
the song as he's been teasing it, as like one of the most important
songs he's ever written, as itkind of refers to, you know,
mental health awareness and that bit youde fight this So don't b see he
didn't come home. Don't honest seetry you don't getting good. I'm sleep

(44:29):
and so trying to make senses. So it's just like it's got such a
like deep meaning to it. Andhe kind of just he released a TikTok
not too long ago kind of describingwhy he wrote it. So I'll just
let him do the talking. God, this is not the most comfortable to

(44:51):
talk about. That's why I writesongs. After having a conversation with someone
I love who said I don't wantto be alive anymore, I think I
realized as humans, we all wantthe same thing. We want a community
at the end into the shift orthe day, or the week or the
year. We want a place tocome back to where we know we're going
to be understood at the very least, we're not going to feel how we're
feeling alone. The times in mylife where I felt the worst were the
times in my life that I wasso sure that a place like that didn't

(45:12):
exist. So I wrote this songI'll forever have a place to come back
to where I reminded that I'm notfeeling all of this alone. And if
you're looking for a place like that, hopefully this song can be that for
you as well. Anyway, here'sthe chorus, So Anyway, it's like
it's called I Don't want to seeYou Try, So it's it's again got
a pretty heavy meaning to it,but you know, it just kind of

(45:35):
surrounds the importance of like mental healthawareness and community and all of that stuff.
So I just think it's such aspecial song. And I just loved
the overall rawness of the track.I feel like he writes about a lot
of really raw, like really realtype of topics. Yeah, and I
just I think he's got great vocals. The harmonies throughout the song are incredible.

(45:57):
It also has this like stripped downacoustic vibe to it, but there's
so many layers to it that italmost doesn't sound stripped down. Yeah.
The only way I can really describeit is this second clip where it kind
of does that transition that I'm tryingto describe. Yes, it's like it's

(46:39):
only him and a guitar. That'swhat it sounds like at the end,
but all throughout the rest of thesong there's so many layers of instruments and
vocals and so anyway, the wholetrack itself was just like so raw,
and like I just loved that itwas stripped down, but also not,
and also the meaning behind it is, you know, obviously so special.

(47:00):
Yeah. I just really loved thattrack. He's got a lot of really
good, really good ones that Idon't know, like, I think I
just like sad boy music, butI just gravitate towards it, you know.
I like his voice a lot.I love his voice. Yeah,
he's his discography is fantastic. Itreally is. Definitely Thanks Marley. That's
it for me, dude. Okay, So I did want to talk about

(47:24):
another song that came out today, but it's honestly something that's been on my
mind all week, and then Iheard a song today and I was just
like, dang, this is theperfect time to really talk about it.
So hang on just second, we'regonna come right back and get right into
it. That is kind of loud, I'm sorry. So I want to

(47:50):
talk about something that's that's kind ofbeen on my mind all week, and
it's gonna sound a little bit cheesy, but I feel like it's it's something
that it just really made me stopfor a minute when I was thinking about
it, and it's essentially just vulnerability. Like let me ask you this to
start, do you think you're goodat being vulnerable. Yeah, Like,
if you were describing yourself, wouldyou use vulnerable as one of the words

(48:13):
that you think you don this istough. Move on, no for me?
Skip Why now? I skip fornow. We'll come back to you
in thirty seconds. So you gotto the answer, Marley, do you
think you're a vulnerable person? Ithink I can be. Yeah. Yeah.
I wouldn't say I'm vulnerable with everybody, right, but with like my
close friends and family, Like, yeah, I definitely think I can be

(48:34):
vulnerable. I was talking to oneof my friends this week who's like a
TikTok influencer, and it was sointeresting because they were talking about what it
was that really started having their accountsessentially have success on TikTok, and she
said, as soon as I startedbeing truly vulnerable, that's when my accounts
started doing well and people really startedto relate to me. And that just
sounded like such at first, stereotypicaladvice. It's so interesting too, because

(49:00):
I always think about that, sayingthat I should post more on social media.
But I'm not not that I'm afraid, but I'm like, I don't
know how people are gonna take it. I'm like people gonna like it.
So it's maybe more of just likeI'm not confident enough or insecure, but
like I wish that I was morelike posting more stories, videos, talking
about like songs, like you know, the podcast. Yeah, but it's

(49:22):
kind of like that's exactly the thoughtI had, And like, maybe this
is a little bit specific to theentertainment world or whatever, but I think
you can apply this to relationships too, because I think you make better relationships
and have better friendships when you're morevulnerable around people. But I was like,
what do you mean when you startedgetting vulnerable? Because I would think
that I'm a vulnerable person, right, like I feel like, especially compared
to my other guy friends, like, I think I'm more down to talk

(49:44):
about feelings and what bothers me andstuff like that. So I was like,
what do you mean That sounds likesuch basic advice to be vulnerable online?
And then I started thinking about it, and I was like, well,
I don't really like post much onlineabout bad things, right, I
think I talk about them a lotwhen my friends, Like, I'm not
scared of that, but yeah, when it comes to online stuff, I
think I usually try and stay positive, but I think that's a choice,

(50:06):
you know. Well, it's alsoyou're having to expand what your like hardships
are, whatever you're trying to bevulnerable about, Yeah, with more than
just your close friend group. Yes, And I think that is what I
really got from it, And likehow challenging that is, because in my
mind, I do have that personin your life that like only post negative
stuff. It just seems like they'redepressed all the time. And I mean,

(50:30):
that's fine, But at the sametime, like you see that so
much, and you're like, man, that I'm kind of tired of that,
you know what I mean, LikeI want to also cater my feed
to like see mostly positivity because Iwant to be positive, you know,
But at what point does vulnerability stopyou from like posting the bad stuff.
It was just whole thought that Ihad in my head. And then this
morning on my way to work,I was like listening to new music Friday,

(50:50):
and I heard this new song fromMachine Gun Kelly, and I did
listen. I'm not like usually abig Machine Gun Kelly fan. I really
like a lot of his like poppunk type stuff that he did for a
minute, but I wasn't normally abig fan but then I started listening to
this and it was almost exactly whatI'd been thinking all all week long.
And it's this song where he essentiallyfeels misunderstood and the lyrics are kind of

(51:15):
nighly. I'll start with I thinkthis is his second verse here, but
just listen to a little bit ofhow he talks about it coming back,
don't let me go. Well, one of the music stops, and the
character that I've been playing is reallyjust broken and lost. I swear I've
been telling you over and over againand all that these songs, but then
I'll hear not that I'll write itbecause they're too busy trying to write me
off, and they go on andon, and it's funny because if we

(51:37):
just said so, I just feellike at his level too, it's some
guy who clearly you think has abrand, you think you know who he
is, and then he has thiswhole song where he was essentially saying like,
when the music stops, I stillkind of don't know who I am,
and I feel like I'm talking toall these people and like trying to
be vulnerable, but I feel likeno one understands that. And I feel
like if you can really feel thatas machine gun Kelly, this guy who's
essentially made it right, Like,at what point does that not apply to

(52:00):
you? Like aside from that, you know, I don't know. It
just it really got me thinking,Yeah, it's interesting. I just don't
know. I think I thought thatI was this vulnerable person this whole time,
and then essentially, like all ofa sudden, I don't think that
I am. You know, Ithink in certain situations, people can be
more vulnerable than others. Yeah,So if I'm going back to your original

(52:21):
question, how come you were soscared to answer or not scared, But
how come you didn't answer first? If you think you're a vulnerable person because
I don't, I guess. Idon't know. I guess it just depends
on whom I'm around, you know, being more vulnerable about around things like
you guys, AM super comfortable around, so I can talk to you guys
about anything. But like, willI be like that with somebody else?
Probably not until I get closer withthem. I don't. And that's probably

(52:43):
a natural thing, right like that, I'm sure everyone is like that to
some degree. Yeah, but Idon't really know. I guess do you
think guys, think I am honestanswer, I think on a scale of
one to ten, ten being themost vulnerable person ever, I would say
you are probably on the surface offour. That yeah, I mean on
the surface of four. But ifI were to like ask you, you

(53:07):
know, how you're really feeling aboutX, Y and Z, like I
think you would you know you thinkso? H Like if you were having
a really sad day, would youtell us? Because I think you tell
us when when you're having a baddan and you'll tell us so. But
if you were really sad, wouldyou tell us? Yeah? Really that's
good. I would Huh. I'vetold people I when I reporting eye contact.
Why did I tell you? Guyslike, yeah, I think I

(53:30):
was talking about a song. Iwas like, I cried on the way
home. Wasn't even this song thinkingabout this? It was like the Dean
Lewis and that was true. AndI think that's probably one of the first
times I heard that. To behonest. You know, I'm a sad
girl, are you? Sometimes itdepends. I think we're all I think
that's why we like music so much. But like even me, dude,

(53:52):
I love all this sad music,but I don't know, I think it's
it's hard for me to be sadon the outside. You know. Oh,
I wear my emotions on my doI can tell when Marley is,
I can tell which better at hidingit, but I will vocalize it.
I think, okay, which Imean. I've always said that about me,
that it's my greatest strength and alsomy biggest weakness is wearing my emotions

(54:15):
on my sleeve, because like,I think, there, you know,
there is something to say, likebeing able to express emotions, Like I
feel like that is a strength inits own right. It is, but
also the weakness part of it isI've had people actually tell me like,
oh, I know you're in abad mood, Like I know, I
know when I can and can't talkto you, And that kind of makes

(54:37):
me sad, because like I don'twant people to not approach me or like
not view me as approachable, huh, But I can't help it, like
if I'm like not up for talking, or if I'm not in a good
mood, or if I'm upset orsad about something, like it's just very
obvious. See that's personally one ofthe things that that I enjoy about a
friendship like that though, because Iknow that with you, because you wear

(54:58):
it on your sleeve so much.Whatever I see is what I'm getting,
and that's a that's a good thingin my mind because then when you're happy,
like I know that you genuinely are, you know, and I know
that if you are upset with me, like I would one hundred percent see
that. Yeah, you know whatI mean. And that's comforting I think
because you're not playing a guessing game. It's like you're being I think you're
more real than both the Kaila andI most times, you know fair.
No, I hold things in,but like depending on the situation, like

(55:21):
I always need to confront somebody,I can't hold things in for two and
I have to talk to it aboutlike see, that's that's where I differ.
Like I'll hold it in for alittle bit until I feel ready or
until I've seen my therapist. Ican talk through how I want to approach
the situation or like whether I havea script in my mind of how I'm
going to combat the situation. Yeah, I mean that's the thing. It's

(55:43):
like I can let it go fora second, but I need to talk
about it. If there's something thatsomeone did that was bothering me. I
was wrong, and I'm like,no, I need to let them know
how I feel. Yeah, you'regood at being confrontational, I'll say,
yeah, that's good. Yeah,I'm envious of that too. I hate
confrontation, but I like, Iget nervous about it, but I feel
like I have to get it outor I'm going to hold that resentment in
and and then it's going to bewell. It just also affects how you

(56:06):
treat other Like other people in thewake too, are sometimes affected by situations
like that if you if you're youknow, holding it in and not like
I don't like to be fake, like if someone's bothering me or did something
that bothered me, and like, you know, it's going to be awkward
now when I'm around you because Idon't want to talk to you or like
I'm upset, so until I talkabout it with that person, it's going
to be awkward or I'm not goingto want to see that peron that scares

(56:28):
me though. That's like my biggestfear, you know, I need to
get beat at that. So Idecided that I was going to make like
a commitment that I want to bemore visually vulnerable this year. You know,
that's my plan. That's my goalto you. Right now. I
like was talking to my friend andI was like, Dang, I thought
I was a vulnerable guy. I'mstarting to think I'm not. No,

(56:49):
I think you are. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen you
sad, So I don't know ifyou're sad when, But do you feel
like you do you feel like youmask that? Like if you ever come
into this office building and actually likebeen sad and tried to mask it with
like your happy, go lucky selfhundred percent. But in my mind,
I choose to do that because inmy mind, like if I show my

(57:10):
sadness, then then I'm gonna havea sad day. Then you're being vulnerable,
yes, but with our jobs, like we have to let that go,
like of course, But I'm justsaying, like off air, of
course, on air, like ifyou're you know, trying to fight through
whatever it is that you're going through, but like if you're walking through the
hallways like or if you come seeme and Mikayla, like, are you

(57:31):
still masking it? I think thata lot of the time, I genuinely
believe in the fake it till youmake it, because I think if I
pretend to be happy, then allof a sudden, if I try and
do that for a couple of minutes, I start laughing, and then all
of a Sudden'm actually having a goodtime. Yeah, I'm like, how
do we end up here? Ibelieve in the fake it till you make
it too, after you know,to a certain degree of course. But

(57:52):
I think like the more I letthe sadness out, the more it's going
to consume me. So I tryand suppress it. Not because I'm scared
to be vulnerable, but because Ithink that I might find myself having a
good day if I just try andforce that out. But I think I'm
wrong. Sometimes I don't know whatis that you suppressing your emotions? It
might be where's yours? So anyway, that's my goal to you guys.

(58:15):
Right now, I'm making it.I'm making the commitment. I'm going to
post myself crying on TikTok tonight. No that's not true, No, no,
please sad Tonight, Chelsea Color,Sad Tonight, Banger. I was
just thinking that I know that songgood good. I saw something Okay,

(58:39):
So the last thing I wanted toask you guys about before we end this,
since we're on the topic of beingvulnerable. We kind of talked about
this last week. Oh man, this is kind of a downer episode.
I do apologize, but like,I'm not trying to be such a downer
in this part right here. Sonext week's my mom's birthday on Friday,
right, And normally, like, what do you get your mom for her
birthday? Right? Normally just getlike flowers or card or whatever. But

(59:00):
then this year, we were talkinglast week about Lizzie McAlpine's song Older,
and I like, you start tonotice your mom get older? And that
got to me. And then thisweek my stupid Google calendar or whatever updated,
and in this update, it nowtells me the age that the person
is turning if I've ever entered itin so now it came up that next

(59:20):
Fridays my mom's birthday and then she'sturning fifty seven. I didn't know my
mom's birthday. I don't know ifyou know your mom's birthday off, just
off the cuff, first nineteen four, No, like how old she is?
Yeah, I didn't know how oldmy mom. I knew she was
in her fifties, but I didn'tknow. But then seeing the number fifty
seven like took me out for aminute, and I was like, that's
the lowest number it's ever going tobe. Yeah, you know, And

(59:43):
that ruined me for minute, likeas young as will ever be? Ran,
No, that makes me sick.Yeah, yes. So then I
started thinking, man, I shouldlike start treating my mom's birthdays a little
bit better, Like I shouldn't justbe like I'll just get a flowers in
the car. I should like makean effort. I've had like a rocky
relationship with my mom. It's beengood for the last couple of years.
And I'm like, you know what, I should make the effort to make

(01:00:04):
good birthdays. So what's the lastgreat thing you got your mom for her
birthday that she left? So Ireally sometimes I'm not home for my mom's
birthday, so I try to plansomething with my brother. But I'll always
get her something that she needs withlike like she was getting her nails done,
so a gift card for her nailsand dad that dinner. Yeah,
for my mom's fiftieth, we hellofiftieth. We went to Hawaii and me

(01:00:27):
and my brother like kind of paidfor it, all of it. Oh
my god, that's was she likeover the moon? Oh yeah, I
mean she knew we were going becauseshe wanted to. But that's what she
wanted to do fiftieth. So wekind of like we planned everything, me
and my brother, like everything shewanted to do. We knew she wanted
to do horseback riding, like ohwow, somewming with dolphins she's never done.
We all we did all that, like it was like a huge thing.
Well now, how my mom justlistened to this, where's my trip

(01:00:50):
to Hawaii? But I mean obviouslythat was like a big deal. It
was her fiftieth and she's done alot for me, Like it's my thirtieth,
so she wants to go on.What if I tell my mom like
if she bakes it to ninety, like, then I'll get her a It's
just like encouragement to keep going, you know, take care of yourself mom
rolling. I think a nice dinner, like going out like and like getting
her something that she enjoys, LikeI don't know if what she enjoys,

(01:01:13):
but I think that's what's hard aboutthis one is like obviously I've never met
your mom, so like, yeah, but also like I've seen people do
this a lot, and I thinkit's so sweet. But like collecting videos
of people wishing that person a happybirthday, yeah, and like compiling it
into one video. Yeah, Ithink is like so sweet. That is

(01:01:34):
really sweet. Wait, your sisterwhere does she live? Again? South
Carolina? Okay, never, Iwas gonna say, my mom has been
asking for me my brother to getlike photos done because like, yeah,
like the last photos me and mybrother have are like from when we were
a lot younger. God, yeah, the photos than my sister and I
have with my mom, like it'sbeen years. Yeah, yeah, that
would be. That's a good TiO. Like you should surprise fly your sister

(01:01:55):
out for your mom's birthday, takepictures, and then go to dinner.
That's not bad. They're like thisnew hanging photo of you sister that she
can hang out. The photos aregood, and then I feel like you
can't go wrong spending time because that'slike something yeah, no one else could
get. Dinner's always nice and likeyou know totally like if she has a
favorite restaurant, like have her getlike all dressed up and go out to

(01:02:17):
dinner with her and dude dressing upis a good idea. Oh, I
should dress tea. Guys, thisis thank you, thank you for coming
through a long beat. Yeah yeah. Does she like magic? I don't
know. Maybe. Are you gonnaMagic Castle? Yeah, that's always why
that become so popular lately. Ifeel like I've heard so many people wanting
to go to Magic Castle. Hasit always been big? Yeah? Huh.

(01:02:38):
It's just like an exclusive thing, but it's like a cool experience because
you have to know somebody or bea member, and so that's the only
way to get in. It's trulycastle like. It's you know, Houdini
did his stuff there. I'll haveto check that out. I never thought
i'd be able to go to theMagic Castle until dress is thirtieth. Yeah.
Our friend magician there, but nowhe's a one in Nashville. So

(01:03:00):
we went to the one in Nashvillein here. Did he ever tell you
his tricks? No? And Idon't want to know because it ruins everything.
Ye. I want to know, though, tell me your tricks,
you know? No, like thementalists and illusionist ones, Okay, I
think the mentalists are really impressive too. Yeah, they can like they predict
what answers you're going to give themand stuff that's wild that bows my mind.

(01:03:21):
Yeah, well, you're gonna haveto keep us updated on what you
do for your mom. No,I will thank you. That was actually
super helpful. I'm going to dothose and I really hope she doesn't listen
because it's going to blow the surprise. And if she does listen, happy
birthday. Debbie is not the mostmom name ever. Yeah, it's precious
Debbie. And Melissa, well,Shelley, Shelley. What was your mom

(01:03:42):
name? Melissa, meliss Melissa,Melissa's pretty. Yeah. I don't know
any young Melissa's I know either,Actually, yes I do. I don't
know any young Shelley's Shelley. Idefinitely don't know. Yeah. Well,
