(00:00):
Man, I'm a little bit nervousabout this part. Turn it up.
It's your weekly hand for sharing newmusic on the playlist and iHeartRadio podcast Hard
Launch. I don't know, guys, I'm gonna be honest. I don't
know how I feel about it.I get it, yeah, like I

(00:22):
hate to pull back the curtain toomuch on our first episode, but we've
been trying to come up with anintro, and that was one that just
got sent to me last night.I don't know. I don't know how
it feels aggressive. It sounds likea sporting event. It does sound like
a sports podcast. You know.We have that one working on it.
I mean, if we're really lookingat the interest here, we have the
one that we made. What's Up. I'm John, I'm Marley, and

(00:42):
I'm MICHAELA. And you're listening toon the playlist and I heard Radio New
Music Podcast, which is I thinkit's fine. I'm just like, I
don't know if I like that either. I've said this before. I don't
like introducing our own podcast. Ithink a lot of people do that,
but for me, it feels verymuch like Chris Martin saying hello, like
here's Coldplay and then walking behind, coming right back out and playing with this
band like it. I don't know, it feels weird to me. So

(01:03):
anyway, I have a homie thatis still working on an intro too,
so there may be a different intro. Are we in agreement about this one
though? It's just like turn itup? Which, first of all,
that bar gives me pumped. Turnit it's your weekly hey for sharing new
music, So I think like that. The verbs are like, the verbiage
is good. You know, we'llkeep turn it up like that pumps me

(01:26):
up a little bit. But itdoes feel like we're in the super Bowl,
correct, you know? Yeah,I feel you in this corner is
not that serious. You know,we're sharing music on this podcast now walking
into a boxing ring. So anyways, the intro is is TBD. But
hey, dude, hard Lunch,we're here. This is our very first

(01:48):
episode. We're I'm actually gonna postabout God we've been I'm gonna be honest.
We've been trying to get this thingup and running for months now,
and I mean, I'll probably savethe excuses, but hey, so I
figured since we're doing a hard launch, we'd take a hard launch shot.
Oh together, you know, kickingoff like a cheers. It's not expecting,
but I'm doing dry January, soit's got to be of either whatever

(02:09):
you're drinking next to you or thisbang energy drink that I have. Mine's
going to be the bang. I'mkind of intrigued by the bank. Can
I try it? Yes? Dude? Hell? What is that cherry vanilla?
They always have the strangest flavors. This one's black cherry vanilla. You
never had an energy drink in mylife ever? Yeah? What I mean?

(02:30):
You're not missing much. I trynot to drink them because allegedly they're
bad for you, you know, and every new one I feel like claims
to be good for you. NowI'm a Celsius girl throwing three. Yea,
dude, I see a lot.Have you seen the trend on TikTok
about like when the Celsius catches upto you, someday you just pass out.
I'm a diet coke early well, cheers to that. What do you

(02:52):
want your water? Because we're embarkingon a journey together today. This is
this is a half shot a heavy. It's a bang you drink, so
it's time to get up. Yeah, I tried not to drink these.
But I feel like today I justfelt right. It felt like we needed
to cheer something. And I havelike a week left to dry January.

(03:13):
I poured too much of a shot. I wouldn't be able to wait.
You poured some water back because itwas too much water for your shot.
Yeah, I'm sick, Okay, all right on the bottles, All right,
Okay, I see you mean.If we were just gonna sip it,
I would have kept the water, but I actually took it as a

(03:34):
shot. Okay, that's fair. Now, I feel like I'm getting tastes
like cough syrup. I will notlie to you. Okay, everyone,
I'm the only person I know thatlikes bank for that. I don't know.
Maybe I like cough syrup, butfor me, it doesn't taste like
that. But everyone that tries itsays that tastes like coughs sir. But
for some reason, to me,Celsius is the one that tastes like cough
syrup, so I never had. You're not getting the right flavor then,

(03:55):
if it tastes like coughs syrup.Yeah, you have fun flavors like black
cherry, vanilla, Fuji apple pair. I don't care. We're from cherry
and vanilla. No black and whiteclaws. I don't like what soda was
it that had the wasn't there blacktree vanilla coke? Is cherry vanilla coke?

(04:16):
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.Kid. Yeah, I don't know
that though, is like that's syrup, that's straight syrup is also syrup though,
you know, if there's more carbonation, maybe it'd be better. Okay,
I'm not gonna be able to winthis argument, so you got to
know when to cut your losses sometimes. Hey, welcome to you on the
playlist. This is our new musicpodcast. My name is John Camuci.

(04:40):
I brought some friends here with me. We have a producer for a little
radio show called on There with Ryanccres, MICHAELA over there, hey.
And then this is a project managerhere at iHeartMedia, Marlee McKay. Hello.
I confuse I don't confuse them.They've been like, we've all been
friends for a very long time. But I think it's because I call Michayla
McKay and Marley's last name is McKay. So for some reason in my mind
that gets mixed up. That's excessinformation that's now going to mix you up,

(05:04):
unfortunately, but you're stuck with itnow. But here we are.
So we want to start every like, this podcast essentially is for us to
share new music. So we're like, let's do what every other person in
this entire world does and just makea podcast about it. So we're going
to start off every episode sharing someof our favorite picks from the last week
in new music in a segment we'regoing to call past the Ox. So

(05:26):
let's see what we brought today.Okay, so we've been doing this.
Yeah, I know, Michael's rightoff like off the data. Well,
we're learning. So we've been doingthis for a couple of weeks now.
But I'm going to do something alittle bit different this week for you guys.
I'm gonna do like somewhat of acountdown here because there was so much
this week, going to try andnarrow it to like two, but I'm

(05:47):
going to speed through a countdown ofmy top five favorite picks from this week.
Cecho h okay, comment in innumber five. My number five pick
for the top new songs this weekis going to be whatever by Ky.
This is a new song from Caigo. He's got a ava Max doing the

(06:09):
vocals on it, and I'm sureright now you can already see what song
it comes from, right, It'sthat secure song Whenever Wherever, which is
a banger, and I love Kigo, but for some reason, like the
thing that stuck out to me mostabout this song is that this just I

(06:29):
know you guys aren't as into likeed M as I am, but this
is like the O G Caigo soundlike this part right here where it's yeah,
this is like tropical house Kigo. This is where I learned Kaigo.
Okay, but I know that youknow that I don't really care for em.
But like DJ's that are like Caigoand Cheen Smokers and Marshmallow, like

(06:49):
the Bleed, they like them, yes, like I will listen to them.
Actually, when I was listening tonew music on Friday, played that
song and forgot I was only supposedto like listen to my favorites, and
I just let him play. Itpassed the test, it just did.
They're also doing that a lot recently, like morphing old songs so many and

(07:13):
like interpolations these days, I thinkis what they're calling. Yeah, correct,
there are so many of those. You're right, that's like seems to
be a trend. Maybe it's atrend that's gonna happen more than this year.
You played that and all I wantedto sing was the Shakira Verson.
I know, it's just and weplay it on a radio station too,
So I'm hearing that song like atleast eighty times direct you know what I
mean. But it's just so muchsounded like that old Caigo like Firestone to

(07:34):
me, which is how I learnedhim. He was like one of the
first to like really do that tropicalhouse song. So coming in at number
five, whatever Caigo and Ava Max, Let's see what else do I got
here? Number three dude, Okay, I've talked about her before. Wait
did you skip number four? Oh? I did? Number four? God,

(07:56):
I have you. I could notdo this myself. Number four,
by the way, comes before numberthree, as it turns out, or
after, depending where you look atit. Number four May stevens Now.
I've talked about her before. Shehad that song. It was the one
that was popular on TikTok It isthat if we ever broke up, I
never be sad. Yeah, thatsong right there. She also had this
song called mister Right with Megan Traynor, and it was all about finding mister

(08:20):
right for you, but you're findingit on a dating app, like finding
the mister right the one you swiperight on, which I need. That
was so clever and I feel like, just as an artist, I think
she's twenty years old, but MayStevens like, to me, represents the
gen Z experience better than any otherartist. Like she's young. She always
has these songs that seem to painta picture of things that younger generation is

(08:43):
going through. And since I thinkus three are like bottom millennials for like
younger millennials, I think a lotof our experiences kind of crossover with that
gen Z experience. So she's gotthis new song that she came out with
this week called ADHD. And Idon't know if this is just my TikTok

(09:07):
feed, but I feel like everyonein the world has ADHD. Now I
don't know, like maybe it's minebecause they know that it caters to me,
but like it's something I've had todeal with growing up, Like I
definitely have ADHD. And I justfeel like today people were more outspoken about
it. I think, yeah, and it was cool to hear it in
a song and I really like thatevery time she does a song like this,
it doesn't feel cheesy to me,because I think sometimes when you talk

(09:30):
about real world issues, it couldget cheesy real fast. For some reason.
With her there, I just don'tthink it did. She's got these
lyrics that are like I don't rememberwhat I said two minutes ago, Like
I have to have alarm set oneverything just so I remember them. And
I have so many alarms to god, wait, I just I just thought
them on all of the alarms thatI may My next one is three thirty.

(09:50):
I will forget, I will forgeteverything. I forgot the number three
before four, Like it's it's soinsane to me. So I really enjoyed
that song from her Here Now Realnumber three, And I think you guys
are gonna agree. Here's to usknocks, dude, this song was awesome.

(10:13):
This song like it is really good. I felt like there's some kind
of nostalgia to this song that Ifelt like I was hearing it through a
disposable camera. Yeah. Yeah,it feels like that like anthem of nostalgia.
Yeah, like if nostalgia had ananthem, it's that song. Yes,
I agree, Yeah, and justthe way the music is, it
makes me sad, Like why youwatch like a montage of like your past,

(10:39):
Like that's just what it is.Yeah, And the song is called
Here's to Us, and he's basicallytalking about like that friend that has been
through everything with you, right, and you look back at all the things
you grew up with, and thenat some point you got to take a
look at how far you've come.And so you're taking a drink. It's
like, here's to you, Here'sto me, Here's to us. And
I feel like this is gonna bethat end of the year's song that like
people are gonna use on their tiktokscollages and all that kind of stuff.

(11:01):
But a banger. Wow, whenI turned thirty, should I have that
as my song? Yeah? Probably? Wait when is that April this year?
You're turning thirty this year? No? Yes, she's actually thirty thirty
one are really No, It's justremember you're living out. You already lived
out, You're thirty at the area. I don't want to get back into

(11:22):
this. We have this conversation everyother week, yeah, and we're gonna
have it one more time. Youseem to think that because after you've turned
thirty. You've lived thirty years andyou're, if I'm correct, you're living
your thirty first year. You are, so you think you're thirty one?
Technically, isn't that No, that'ssomething. Technically you are thirty, as
it turns out, because we're rightthere. Actually, yeah, don't make

(11:45):
me older than you're living out yourthirty one year. Yeah, so when
you turn thirty one, you alreadylived that out. Now you're Okay,
I just wanted to I'm agreeing withyou. I'm agreeing with you. Do
you have any plans here thirtieth birthday? I wanted to go away, but

(12:05):
my mom and me just subjectively you'relike, I just don't. I wanted
to go, like go on avacation and forget my project here. No,
but I think I want to goto northern California and to places I
haven't been. And oh, that'skind of nice. So yeah, Marley,
you're invited, by the way,Yeah, John, it's a girl's
trip. But Okay, there areso many times I've told you guys that

(12:28):
you're basically one of the boys.Honestly, you're one of the girls.
So you totally appreciative of that.Maybe the only boy, but my brother,
my brother does coming. Does itscare you? Like you're you're a
couple of months out, so you'renot quite like knocking down the door of
it yet, but like, areyou scared to turn thirty at all?
Yeah? I don't know why,but because one of our best friends just

(12:48):
turned thirty, she like I wrotein her card, and I was like,
you know, like we already livedout this decade. Now I'm so
excited to see like our net likeexperience this next decade with her and like
our other group of friends like thisone will It's all about like experiences and
moving to LA and graduating college andjust living at your twenties traveling, Like
what is this year? Is thisthe year we settled down? Is this
the year like get engaged? Like, I don't know, it's just like

(13:11):
a whole other life. It seemsthat decade is like the most the way
you described as the most twenties decadeever, Like you literally moved from East
Coast to LA, like started anew life across the country. Yeah that's
crazy. Yeah, it makes it'scrazy to think about, Like my twenties
are over, but I did somuch of my twenties and so many things
that other people, probably in theirtwenties, don't even get to experienced.

(13:33):
Really, it's definitely scary. Butlike mentally, if you didn't know how
old you are, like, howold do you feel at this moment?
I honestly feel like twenty two, dude, that's what I say to you.
I think twenty five. Like mymind, I think I'm twenty five.
I was going to say twenty fourto twenty five. Well is there
right, I'm twenty eight. Oh, you got time. I think it's
a graduated college twenty two. Sothat's twenty nine next week. Oh my

(13:54):
god, yeah, I'm invited Februarysecond. That's yes, not your birthday,
but that's the day. That isthe birthday. I'll set an alarm
on my phone. All right. So number two in my top five here,
Oh my god, guys, thisnew song Tiny Moves from Bleachers.

(14:20):
Damn like this. This just feelslike a night drive to me. It
is beautiful this song. Yeah, yes, yeah, I don't know.
I'm not gonna attempt to do abetter job at me, but that was
talking about in my headphones. Thatwas amazing. That's what I'm saying the
first time I heard it. That'swhat the intro sounds like. Yeah,

(14:43):
I'm played this in my car andI was like, this is cool.
Yeah. Then I wasn't into itand I skipped it. Okay, maybe
skip too soon. We've talked aboutthis that, like, so Bleachers kind
of feels like they've taken on thisnew sound with this upcoming album, and
they're gonna be an iHeart Radio theaternext weekend. I think it is.
Anyway, we were saying we shouldgo, and I think we've swapped places
because I knew yours actual birthday,Oh that Friday. Yeah nice. I

(15:07):
feel like I wasn't super familiar withBleachers before, but now that these last
couple of songs have come out,Like, I'm in love with this new
sound, but you're kind of theopposite. Yeah, but I think I
need to give it a chance.I just kind of really, I just
love this and I love their oldstuff. Like when it comes on and
don't skip it, it's just avibe. It's just a vibe. That's
why I felt about this new stuff. It's maybe a little bit slower and
more melody. I think that's whatit is. You know how I feel

(15:28):
about slower song yeah, that's justmyself, but I do like the beat.
Okay, Temmy, if you hearthis though, listen to this because
the first time I listened to it, this is the song it reminds me
of. So here's this and thenthis part right here. Oh that guitar
yeah, low key, I wasthinking John Mayer, it's the same exact

(15:50):
guitar pattern. It's good cats notright, it's this next one. I
just it got John Mayer to me, like, no such thing. I
was a little bit of that strumpattern from the guitar into But anyway,
bleacher's amazing pick right there. Andthen my number one pick this week,

(16:11):
guys, gosh, beautiful things fromBenson Boone. This is the most incredible
thing I've ever heard. I'm inlove with this song, dude, Oh
my god it is. This isdoing things to me, like it's so

(16:33):
wild to me because I brought thisup on the air on the radio show
that I do on our New MusicFriday segment, and I played it and
I lost my mind. I lookedaround and people are like, yeah,
it's a good song. But forsome reason, I don't know what it
is. But for me specifically, this song is I can't understand how other
people don't find this to be likeone of the best songs that'll come out
all year. I was shocked byit. Just the build up from how

(16:53):
soft it is in the beginning tothat scream is just I had no idea
it's coming. I want you,I need you, hop God, dude,
dig I've got like, get out, get out, dude, I

(17:14):
can't go, but I'm dead.He kind of sounds like Matt Mason.
Yes, yes, one hundred percentagree with that. He does kind of
sound like Matt Mason. I willsay, John, the screaming doesn't do
anything for me. What's right?Yeah? I just that bit that you
that you played the slower part leadingup into the you know chorus, right,
loved that sounded so good. He'sgot amazing vocals. He really does

(17:38):
the screaming though, I like can'tlisten to it in a three minute Sorry.
I wonder. I think it's because, like, if that was just
the bridge, maybe would love.So I'm thinking because when I get really
excited about something, I feel likesometimes I get so excited that I don't
know how else to convey it,but to start screaming about it, like

(17:59):
raising my just want to shout out, you know what I mean, Like
I just can't even control it anymore. So I think that's kind of what
I see in it. And thenthis what it's about. He's like talking
in the first verse, he's sayingthat he found the perfect giral, someone
that his parents are really proud of. And I want to find the lyric
here, he says, because it'sjust so interesting. He says, Oh,

(18:19):
man, I don't have it inhere, but he's ba I thought
I did. But it's this fearof like losing the most amazing thing that
you found, he says, likeI got. I thank God for her
every day, but I know everythinghe gives me he can easily take away,
and I'm just like, damn wow. Even just like aside from relationship

(18:41):
things, I remember like the firstsix months that I got this job that
I have now, which just beenmy dream job, like I thought it
was going to get ripped out fromunderneath me. I felt like it's there's
something was going to go wrong. And sometimes I think when you have something
so good in life, whether thatbe in your relationships or your career,
whatever it is, sometimes you don'tknow, like if you even deserve it
somehow, you know. I mean, you're just like wondering if it's going
to be ripped out at any moment. And I just feel like that fear

(19:03):
is so captured in this damn song, and I feel like I'm hurting your
ears with all the screaming. Sothe thing is, it works in this
song for sure. It's just notsomething that I like to listen to if
it's in every single song. Ilike to sing along to songs, and
I can't do that. Yeah.I tried, you know, like some

(19:25):
of those tiktoks, it's just peoplein the car screaming the song, you
know. I was like, I'mgonna make one of those, and then
I just didn't realize that you shouldn'treally scream with your own voice on top
of it. I watched it,but it was a no post. That's
a hard post. It's hard draftswhen you when you put more context behind
the song. Though. Yeah, yeah, it's just anyway, that is
my top five. I'm gonna takeout my OX and who wants it next?

(19:49):
Let's throw it over to sure me. Okay, because this song that
I'm about to share, uh huh. Let me tell you it has been
on a re peat. Okay. It's called Memories by Valley, Uh huh
okay, and one of my bestfriends, Jess, she recently called her

(20:11):
wedding and she fell in love withVali. So she's like, I cannot
wait for them to release new music. And so when they released this new
it's called Lost and well, theiralbum was called Lost in Translation, but
these are songs that were actually lostin Translation that didn't make the album.
So like about seven I believe, and so I was like Jess, like
you need to listen to these songs, like you're gonna love it. And

(20:33):
then I realized, holy crap, like they're all sad songs. They're gonna
make her cry. You're like,oh god, it's gonna put you in
your feels. So I will updateyou guys on what she thinks about that.
But this song is called Memories. It's about a breakup and how you're
just missing the times that you hadwith this person, reminiscing but also like
I'll always be in your memories, like it'll always this person will always be
a part of you. And whatI really like about this song is that

(20:57):
this has never happened to me,like falling asleep on the with another guy.
But the way that they said,no you fall asleep, No,
no, you fall asleep. They'relike yeah, no no no no you
just love that really think everything nono, no, no you yeah,

(21:19):
And I need this so clever.Yeah, way that they translated like no
no no, like as in likeyou're singing to like no no no,
yeah you hang out. It's sogood. And he's got such an incredible
voice, honestly, like it's sosmooth. It's such a disgusting thing,
but like when you're in it,it just makes so much sense. You
know, Like you you see peoplethat are in that stage where you know

(21:41):
they're talking all night and they're like, no you hang up, like I
just want to talk to you anyonethat's disgusting, thank you. But then
you're in it, you're like, damn, like I'm that disgusting guy.
Like it just it hits you hard. But I really thought there name of
this like extended album version songs thatgot lost in translation because the album is
lost and translations, so I thoughtthat was really clever. It worked out,

(22:03):
and like the album cover is likethe same as their actual album cover,
but they're just like silhouettes. Sois this like a deluxe album or
like a part two or it's justlike a I guess it's kind of like
a deluxe version. Just like theextended songs, they're all demos. Oh
really, so like I don't thinkany of them are actually like yeah,

(22:25):
they all say demo. Oh wow, that's cool. Yeah. I really
love listening to artists demos of songs. I do too. It's so interesting
to hear like where it comes fromsometimes, especially when artists will have like
a random voice memo that they includein their album. I'm just like,
yeah, give it to me,like I want to know from the inception.
But this song has been on repeat. It's so good, puts me
in my feels, and I loveValley and it's I need to see them

(22:45):
soon. Every time you bring aValley song, I'm like instant save,
like you pick the good ones.Oh and then they are. I mean
it's not a really new song, but they're featured on the mains extended album.
Yeah, so good. Yeah I'mblamed. If anyone wants to listen
the main song Blame featuring Valley sogood? Is that it for you?

(23:07):
Yeah? All right, we're takingit out, will you throw that ox
over there? Good catch? Thankyou, good bye? Take that from
earlier? Okay, okay, perfect. Well, since we're already on the
topic of Valley, I had asong I wanted to talk about off of

(23:30):
their Deluxe I Guess version. It'scalled Going Gray Now again. It's only
because all of these are demos. It's truly a forty five second oh wow,
like forty seven seconds, so trulynot a finished song, no,
not at all. But the openingline is you know, life moves fast
when it's awesome, And I'm like, that's so it's so true when you
think about it, like time flieswhen you're having fun kind of thing.

(23:52):
Sure, some of my best yearsare just over like that. Yeah,
Like it sounds so like literally, the fact that it's so raw is I
think why I love it so much. But also like that pre chorus of

(24:14):
like you know, will you likeif I call, will you be there?
If you know life gets through inthe colors fade or whatever? Like
will you still you know? Loveme? When we go gray? It's
like, think about the colors fadinggray. It's like the correlation is so
too, so cool, and Ijust love that. It's like a voice
note basically, and I feel likeif a song can can go that hard

(24:36):
without a lot of production, likeyou know, you got a banger,
you know it's it's just like thepromise disappe this part right here, I
think, like so sick. Don'tthey come up with the full version of
that? I know, it's sogood? How do we petition? We

(24:56):
get him on pot, we gethim on pod, on the playlist on
the shoot thank you here, I'mso sick. So anyway, I loved
that whole deluxe like you know versionof that. I got to go give
this like a real listen. Yeah, you really do, because there are

(25:18):
a few others on on that extendedversion that I'd love to talk about too,
but never you know, we don'thave time and do this as long
as you want. Anyway, let'stalk about Mitchell Tenpenny anybody in the room
on the New Music Friday. Yes, okay, I don't think I've I
literally don't think i've heard the nameuntil you brought this song. I'm pretty
sure. Don't quote me. I'mpretty sure he writes with the band Comino.

(25:45):
Yeah, okay, not quoted, but cool if true? Thank you.
Anyway, he has a song thatcame out called break from Breaking My
Heart like count It's yeah, he'sI think he was at Stage Coach a
couple of years ago, but he'she's really good And the beginning reminded me

(26:10):
of a band Comuino song. Yeah, he's kind of he's kind of got
this like country John Mayer vibe tohim, like sometimes his vocals like sound
like if John Mayer was fully country. Yeah you know, not like John
Mayer is born and raised slash ParadiseValley, he went through. I just
glance over that era sometimes respectfully, but yeah, so I I loved it,

(26:33):
like the whole concept of like don'tyou want to break from Breaking my
Heart? Like don't you want tostay in tonight? Like why are you
coming out? Like just stay away? So anyway, I even try it
right now. Yeah, and thebuild up is crazy, it's so good.
So I I loved that one. That's good. Good pick Marley,
good pick, thank you. Thenext and last one that I have for
you is Miss Megan Maroney. Loveher. She's like one of my favorite

(26:57):
like up and coming. I don'teven know she's still up and coming,
but like up and coming country artists, right now. Yeah. She came
out with a new song called NoCaller ID and here you Come again and
move it you move back with thehalf Sorry. I honestly was just letting

(27:21):
him play because I love it somuch. It's on repeat. But her
wrass. Yeah, she's so good. Her songwriting ability even alone is incredible,
exactly, and like the pedal steelguitar, They're like, I love
a pedal steel guitar. I waslistening to the song when when I was
listening to new music Friday, andI felt sad, like it was raining
for this weekend in LA and forsome reason, like I had not felt

(27:45):
those heartbreak feelings in a while, but for some reason, this song cut
through and got and I was likedang. And I just loved that she
called it no Caller ID, yeah, because it's like she blocked you,
dude, yeah, and like yeah, and the calls coming in and she
doesn't need the caller idea to knowwho's calling. It's like three am,
who else? Is it? Right? I get all right? You know
totally. So anyway, I lovedthat, and I think she's got an
incredible voice. And she will alsobe at Stage Coach this year, so

(28:07):
I'm looking forward to seeing her.Oh man, Yeah, that's one that
she's on Sunday too, And like, I didn't want to stay because I'll
have work Monday, but that SundayStage Coach lineup is it's incredible, insane,
pretty good. So I think I'mjust gonna have to pull an all
nighter and hit it. I thinkyou will a few honorable mentions. This
week, Mumford and Sons came outwith their first piece of new music in
five years. It's called Good Pieces, something you're storing up you better get.

(28:41):
This is produced with Farrell Farrell Williams. We got obviously a new version
of Homesick from note On. Thishas become one of my favorite note Con
songs. I think it's in mytop three. Sorry, I really got

(29:02):
into that. I had to standup. And then we got a new
album called Saviors from Green Day.This is a song off it called Bobby
Socks. They're Green Day sounding. But that rounds up all the new music
that came out in this last week. Hey, send us your picks,

(29:22):
like, send us a little dM and I don't know what we'll do
with that actually, but that's it. But there's gonna come a point where
I feel like there's gotta be Yeah, there's gotta be some kind of like
input section from from ones. Wecan take from submissions. But that's gonna
do it for the new music outthis week. I'm gonna take out the
socks now. I really do wantto talk about that Coachella lineup. So

(29:44):
we're gonna be right back, stickaround. That's coming next, So back
anyway, So that Coachella lineup, that Coachella lineup just just came out last
week, and I hate to soundlike the old guy, right, Like

(30:07):
I don't want to be. Ijust I know, like I just turned
thirty, Mikayla's almost there, andI don't want to be like, oh,
Couceilla is just now what it usedto be. But I just feel
like this lineup was so underwhelming.I agree, yeah, right, yeah,
I've never been to Coachella because I'mwaiting for like the right line up
to kind of make it out therebecause it's hot and it's rough. Due
one didn't do it for me.I get scared that day will never come

(30:29):
where the lineup will be perfect again. I don't know, I don't know.
I'm like, I'm kind of upset. I didn't go to the to
the the last one, the onewith Harry Styles. Was that last time?
Oh noo years ago? Yeah, you know, obviously I love Harry
Styles, but I just feel likethat lineup was good. It wasn't one
of the lineup or the headliners. Also Billie Eilish, Yeah, yeah,
that was a good year. Thatwas a really like the nineteen seventy five
I think was there I bat methat up. I don't know, but

(30:52):
either way, like don't quote,I mean, like respectfully, it's in
Lina del very incredible artist. Didn'treally see that as a Coachella headliner,
but maybe that's just one Tyler theCreator cool, like I was he on
there once before? Or maybe I'mthinking of a Loa Lapalooza lineup or something.
And then Doja Cat, who Ifeel like was just touring, like
I feel like she was just here. I don't know. I remember seeing
all those videos like months ago,and I heard this rumor. I'm not

(31:14):
sure if there's any truth to this. Have you heard that Coachella makes the
artist signed some kind of contract whereyou can't perform within five hundred miles of
Coachella within six months it's ninety it'slike ninety mile radius ninety. Yeah,
so does I'm sure? I thinkI think that. Yeah, isn't that
almost like all of artists that signlike some kind of contract for any sort
of astimal thing. But I thinkthat's why we can't we have Wango after

(31:38):
yeah, or it's like a ninetyday thing. I think that's what the
ninety I think it's like nine milesor ninety ninety days before and after Coachella.
Yeah. So that's why a lotof the time we don't have the
same art line up Coachella ye forour Wango Tango. Yeah, I mean
that does make sense. I justI don't know. I it would take
a really good lineup to get meback into Coachella. I've always kind of
felt that it was kind of anunderwhelming festival anyway. I just the vibes

(32:04):
kind of it's just not for me. It's fact like it used to be.
I feel like a lot of peopletoo, are saying that this year
Coachella is not selling out nearly asfast as it was. Okay, so
when that lineup dropped, I sawso many people selling their tickets on my
Instagram, and I thought it wasjust like a meme, like people were
just complaining that the lineup was whatever. So I was aw soo many people
to be like, oh, sellingmy tickets, and then I would laugh

(32:25):
at it and they're like no,like I'm I'm actually really selling my ticket.
That's another reason why too. Ihated buy my like hate they have
to buy tickets in advance when youdon't know the lineup. Yeah, it's
it makes it hard. Well,I've I've always been so I've had conversations
with this with friends who who goto Coachella every year, and I'm like,
why would you buy a ticket toa festival that you don't know the

(32:46):
lineup for? I think you hopethat you can make your money back if
the lineup's good, but you're reallytaking a chance, I guess, well
to me, honest, I kindof did the same thing with Stage Coach,
Like I had kind of decided thatI wanted to go prior to the
lineup coming out, and then oncethe lineup came out, I was like,
Okay, So I feel better aboutdoing that with Stage Coach, only
because I mean, I like country, but I'm not a huge country music

(33:07):
fan and I barely know a lotof the lineup with Stage Coach anyway,
I know some of the bigger names, but I don't know any of the
small names. But I go forthe vibe. I think the Stage Coach
Bible is a vibe. It's unnatched, man. Yeah, people are just
out there having a good time. It's just beer, lounge chairs and good
vibes. I was deciding on goingthis year at all. Oh you're going
now, though, Well I amgoing now, yes, But I was.

(33:28):
I was debating on whether I wantedto go. I've done it like
thirteen years in a row, obviouslyminus the pandemic, but I've been so
much. I was like, isthis am I done? Because this I'm
am I. You know. Idon't want to say too old for this
because that's not the case, butespecially to place like Stage Coach. But
it's just like so much walking,it's so hot, and I was,
you know, debating on whether Ishould go or not, and then the
lineup drop and Okay, I'm going. Mikayla, I know you're not a

(33:52):
huge country person, but what wouldit take for you to go to Stage
Coach a free ticket? Honestly,I go, oh, really, I
feel like I've been more and moreinto country, like I feel like,
Well, we also had this conversationthe other night. On on Saturday night,
we all went out for our friend'sbirthday, and the lineup actually has
other people who than country. Thisis a huge cross bridges. Okay,

(34:14):
let's talk about like Nickelback with Khalif, the Beach Boys, boys, Post
Malone, he's doing country covers. He's doing country covers, but even still
Post Malone doing country covers. Soyou're seeing me that's iconic. So I'm
so excited. April end of April, yeah, I think it's like the
last week ind of April and thenstage Yeah, And I feel like even

(34:37):
if you're not a country fan, because there's so much musicianship there, like
like there's a full band at everystage, you know what I mean,
Like all the music you're hearing liveand that to me is cool, I
think. But I told you guysthis before, Like every iHeart show that
I've worked. My favorite, oneof my favorites is the Country Festival in
Austin. Like everyone's just carefree havinga good time like I have. I

(34:59):
don't, like I said, I'mnot a big country fan, but I
have so much fun at those shows. That lineup is also very good.
Is it really? Is it theiHeart Country line up? Yeah? Oh,
they released. I truly annoyed it. I think it's released. Vibes
are Adam. Is this a confidentiallineup to share? No, I'm pretty
taking on the Yeah. And Ifeel like the country artists are always not
always, but I'd say ninety percentof the time the most chill, Yeah,

(35:22):
so easy going. Oh, Isee the Old Dominion, lady A,
Jelly Roll, Jason al Dean,Brothers Osbourne. Yeah, that's Sick
Brothers Osbourne alone. I would gofor as well as Old Dominion, like
those two talkerm Old Dominion before. But I really really know Lady A and
Jason Aldean, but I don't likelisten right. Yeah, I remember Luke

(35:43):
Bryan was performing at Our Heart Theaterhere in Los Angeles, And this was
back when I was on the promoteam in charge of their writers, so
in charge of the list of thingsthat they want in their dressing room before
they show up that we usually do. And I mean you guys have been
around that, like you know howdifficult those lists can be sometimes, Like
people will want in olive or whatever. It is so random, like some
of these things. Luke Brian wanteda six pack of Budweiser. That's it,

(36:07):
just a six pack of Budweiser andcool Man. How cool is that?
So yeah, Coachella, I'm notsure if I'm going to be there
this year, but stagecoach death Death. I also wanted to ask you guys
about this because this was in thenews last week that these fans are suing
Madonna. At a show in NewYork last month, she was supposed to
come out at eight thirty PM NewYork Time, didn't come on till ten

(36:30):
thirty. That's two hours later. That show didn't until one am, one
in the morning. Let me tellyou was there, Like, did anyone
say that what the reasoning was forher being late to the stage, Not
that I've seen here. I haven'tseen it. I like it would make
maybe there was like some kind ofemergency backstage they had to deal with or

(36:51):
what. I feel like that wouldbe different. But at that point,
it's apparently she's known for this,oh allegedly. I mean, I've not
been to that Madonna show because Ithink I would have left too. Number
One New York. No. Onedrives. Yeah, transportation, Now you
gotta take a subway at one inthe morning. Does it even run all
night? I think it does, actually I don't remember. But also what

(37:13):
if, like how long it couldtake then just even if you ubered and
stuff, might be harder to getan uber at two am than it eleven
pm. I just like off,I heard this and I zoomed out,
and I was like, this likeneeds to be a fixed problem. And
I feel bad that none against Madonna. I feel bad she had to be
the one to take the fall forthis right now, but how many shows
have we've been to when the artistcomes out so much later than they advertise

(37:36):
that they're going to be and forwhat you know, you're I know what
your day consists of, Like unlessyou're literally late getting there or something like
a lot of the time they're justin the back. Yeah, yeah,
no, I get it, Likepeople spend their hard earned money to go
to a show, especially on weeknightsnow that we get up early, Like
it's like I'm not going to dothat anything. I'd be so curious to
know what they're like, here's yourpapers, Madonna, Like you came on

(38:00):
stage lately, what is the actuallike, yeah, and does that result
anything? Yeah? Is there acase there? Like they say it's false
advertisement. That's what they're saying. But okay, that was my question.
I didn't know how to word itwas like, what's the Like, Yeah,
they're angles, I guess you couldsay, but false advertising is what
they're saying. Because she said she'dbe out at it said the show starts
at eight thirty, and then shedidn't come out til ten thirty. So

(38:22):
anyway, artist need did. Look, there's a lot of things that I
don't care about, but like, maybe it's just because during the week I
could just late shows suck. Nowas you get older too, you know,
I love when a show starts ateight thirty, were out the door
by ten thirty. Love. Weshould have concerts on the weekend started five.
Oh yeah, eight on the weekendhard eight, and I could get

(38:51):
behind that. During the week No, Yeah, it's just hard for people
to get off work, which Iget, but oh man, it's tough.
I do want to close with aquest for all of you. Since
this is our first episode and we'regonna be talking about music this entire year,
I just kind of wanted to startwith what you hope to see from
music this year, And you canhonestly answer that in any way that you
want to. But I want toknow, like, what you're excited about

(39:14):
this year. Maybe it's an artist, maybe it's a trend in music,
Like what's something in the music universethat you're excited for in twenty twenty four.
Miley, We'll start with you.Oh Okayla, you want to just
kidding, Okay, trying to putyou on the spot, but no,
that's okay. I was, it'syou know, on topic for what we
were already talking about. Yeah,I'm honestly I was. I go to

(39:36):
stage Coach with my friend Shelby everyyear and we've just been talking about it
for the last few months. We'relike, this is going to be the
best stage coach yet. Yeah,Like we're just we're ready to go and
no drama, just fun vibes forthree days. So that's that's my hope.
That's what I'm looking forward to rightnow. Expectations are at an all
time high from an awesome stage coach. But that is that is the next

(39:59):
thing up on my on my lineup anyway, So that's kind of what's
at the forefront of my mind.Yeah, I like that a couple of
months away. Makaivath I. Onething is I'm excited for Wango this year,
so you didn't have it last year. Yeah, So just my favorite
bands releasing new music and Laney becauseLaney concerts are just unreal and yeah they're

(40:21):
the Forum March March. Yeah, and it's cool to see them like start
to be on radio play now.Yeah, that's crazy to me, Like
that is like an artist like that, you know, it's it's so insane.
It's crazy to see an artist likestart from like just having their own
little fan base, and even ifit's a big fan base, but like
just well known through the internet, like it just appear on radio. Yeah.

(40:43):
Like I think the first time Isaw them was twenty sixteen at the
Fonda. Yeah, dude, Ilove the Fonda. I know, I
love the Fonda. That's a goodone. So yeah, it's wild to
hear them on the radio. Yeah, I love seeing that too. My
My thing I'm excited for is I'mI'm hoping I'm excited to see like who
becomes the main artist of the yearbecause I feel like, yeah, last

(41:04):
year it was so swamped by TaylorSwift the Air's Tour and Beyonce, like
they're the queens A and B.They took that whole year, you know.
So now that that lane has kindof cleared and you start to see
these new artists come out with musicthis year, Ariana Grande coming out of
music. Yeah, I don't know, man, Taylor might Taylor might drop
reputation. Taylor's versions this year.There's still a chance. I can't even

(41:28):
expect that it won't be tailed, because it very much might be, you
know what I mean. But I'mexcited to see, like at the end
of the year, like who reallytook the spotlight in the music seeing this
year. That's a good one.All right. That's gonna wrap it up
for us. Appreciate you listening toour first hard launch episode. We do
have a playlist where we're gonna kindof feature all of these songs that we've
talked about on the podcast, aswell as just some picks that are on

(41:51):

of music. So you can findthat. We have an Instagram. It's
at on the playlist on Instagram.Yep okay, in that bio, we'll

(42:12):
