Speaker 1 (00:00):
He was hers Alex Garrett, all right, well, we're gonna
do one leg up on news tonight because I was
getting a little nervous that President Trump was not keeping
his eye fully on the horrible, tragic Texas flooding, but
(00:24):
at the same time he's talking about threats to Brazil
for fifty percent tariff and oh, by the way, thirty
five percent tariff against Canada. The fifty percent teriff against
Brazil for the treatment of former president Bolsonaro is the
second time Trump has intervened in international affairs. We need
President Trump to focus on America, not what Brazil's doing
(00:48):
with their ex president, not what Israel's doing with net
and Yahoo. He needs to focus on the United States
of America. He's a president of the United States of America,
which is why I'm glad he finally visited after a
few days Texas and said this to the reporters, after
surveying the awful damage, which is killed one hundred and
(01:10):
twenty one, one hundred and seven plus and I would
say a lot of kids still missing and have died.
He wanted a tearif Brazil fifty percent that was his
focus this week. I'm glad he shifted his focus to Texas.
Take a listen. It's hard to believe the devastation. Trees
that are one hundred years old just ripped out of
(01:30):
the ground. I've never seen anything like it. I've seen
a lot of bed once, I've gone to a lot
of hurricanes, a lot of tornadoes. I've never seen anything
like this. Now, what I will say is Meghan Kelly
and Chelsea Clinton got into it this week. But as
an outlet that wants to provide resources and feels strongly
(01:52):
about providing resources, I got to mention some of the
resources Chelsea Clinton has mentioned over the last couple of
days that are fighting to keep these people safe from
the floods and help rescue efforts as well. Because Megan
(02:13):
Kelly went off about the hosts that Chelsea Clinton did
a couple of days ago about how they are members
of the Clinton Global Initiative on the ground in Texas
supporting families, But then she listed a whole bunch of
other resources, Airling Flight All Hands Hearts in Kirk County,
(02:34):
Red Cross, of course, America Cares deploying an emergency response
team to help restore access to health poor response, coordinating
closely with Texas VOAD and local and state partners to
identify what families need most. CRF plus is connected with
(02:56):
their partners on the ground, who was as the needs
of local artists all so offering funding and resources to
craft artists impacted by the flooding. Direct Relief committed fifty
thousand dollars to support the deployment of emergency medical supply
and operating funds to impact the communities. And give directly,
which is sending cash directly to tax to Texas flood survivors,
(03:20):
give directly, and of course go fund Me and IMC worldwide.
I mean, she listed a bunch of different resources that
I think are valuable in the long run to help
these families who have lost loved ones, who are still
struggling through the floods. And I understand that there have
been fights about these alert systems for days, but now
(03:43):
it's not the time for debating and know what to
those who say the victims deserved it because they might
have voted maggot, because they might have shame on you, Chelsea.
Clinton's being better than that, and we got to recognize
that she's offering resources, She's not putting blame on the victims.
So he's saying, let's get help on the ground now.
(04:04):
And what's President Trump doing? Yes, he went to Texas, ay,
but what's he been doing all week? He's been threatening tariffs,
He's been getting involved with international affairs. It don'tly even
impact our country. Who cares if Polson Arrow got treated
like crap. Our state of Texas needs US right now.
(04:24):
And he's there today. Okay, he went to Texas, I
and imber mildly going. But the whole week he's been
talking about tariff threats to both Brazil and Canada, and
then of course the Epstein disaster with the closing of it,
saying there's no files. I don't know what's going on there,
but there was no focus on what matter most for
(04:48):
the President United States, which is which is what's happening
in Texas right now. And I applaud Chelsea Clinton for
listing all these resources which are being matched up to
one hundred thousand dollars Team Mumbican Texts, dia Per Bank,
(05:10):
Resilient Texas Reliefs and Recovery Campaign, creating a fund to
support those in need. There are real resources out there,
and maybe I'll take Chelsea's leading tag all these groups
because I want this pod to be a connector to
be a hub, if you will, for resources when people
need it the most, to have help them have one
(05:31):
leg up through the floods. That's what we need, That's
what we need. I want to also shout out the
Cowboys and the Texans and the NFL who have combined,
by the way, in a statement earlier this week to
donate one point five million dollars to provide immediate systems
(05:51):
and long term resources to those most impacted by the
catastrophic flooding. So to all those resources that I've been
talking about on this podcat cast that thanks to Chelsea Clinton,
thank you for stepping in. Thank you for not playing
a blame game, even if you're a liberal organization and
not saying, oh, we won't help these people because they're
(06:13):
Trump supporters. Remember when FEMA did that. Remember when FEMA
did that, they said, Hey, we're not going to help
these people because they're Trump supporters in North Carolina. It
was awful. So thanks to all the resources that they're saying,
we're going to step up for the people of Texas
no matter who they voted for. And I wish all
of the Public Square would act like that right now.
(06:34):
Not the blame game, not that they deserved it if
they voted for Trump. No, none of that. We need
to have one leg up for Texas in this horrible,
horrible situation. I feel like finally getting around to this
is localthartic for me, because I've been wanting to talk
about this. I'm wondered about the resources needed to stabilize
(06:57):
the region, to continue rescue efforts and to provide assistance.
I don't know why Megan Kelly wanted to take her on,
because I thought Chelsea Clinton did the right move sharing
all the different groups that are supporting those in need.
That's what we need right now. Not blame game, not
(07:19):
who deserve what, simply places that are supporting and rescuing
and providing in time of need to our brothers and
sisters in Texas, to the kids in Texas. And they're
doing it without any kind of bias, it seems like,
and we should applaud that. So please, President Trump, cut
(07:42):
the tariff nonsense for once. Focus on your country. I
don't care what Bolson Arrows got going on in uh
in Brazil. I don't even care really what Nana was
going through. I mean, it's quite something going on there
with his trials, but I really care about that. No,
you know why I care about what's going on in
(08:04):
our country. I care about those that are hating America
right now. We need to fix that too, because the
fabric of this country will be ripped apart and we
let the haters prevail, we let the blamers prevail, and
(08:27):
we let the outside influence of what's going on in
Brazil and and Israel prevail over what we need in
our country right now. So if we could stop the
tariff threats and the tariff talks and put that aside
and put the focus on real Americans right now who
are in need, I think we'd be better off. That's
(08:49):
how we'd have one leg up for those in need
in the United States of America. It's to shift focus
from what's going on with bolson Arrow, what's going on
with that Yahoo, and just focusing on what's going on
right here in our country. Yes, President Trump, they voted
for you, that is true, which means you should be
there even more than focusing on Bolsonaro and Nat Yahoo's
(09:14):
trials and Canada's tariff war. What's happening in Texas is
taking present over tariffs, and we need to refocus that
from here on out. And that's how I'll have one
leg up for America.
