Join Robert Ellsberg, publisher of Orbis Books, in this One On One interview with author Michael J. Rogers, as they discuss Many Paths with Mary: Popular Piety and the Future Church.

Michael J. Rogers takes readers on an international journey, exploring how Mary, Mother of God, comes to be understood in different times and places: including 16th century Copacabana, Boliva, and Tepeyac, Mexico, 19th century Lourdes, France, and even more recently in Mexico. He explicates some of the many ways that the Holy Spirit speaks through the people of God when popular piety emerges in the meeting of distinct cultures, through moments of meaning, and amid ruptures in society.

Michael J. Rogers is currently head of mission for Catholic hospitals in New England. He earned his PhD from the University of Toronto and holds degrees from the College of the Holy Cross, Saint Louis University, and the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. He completed most of the field research for Many Paths with Mary while a fellow at the McFarland Center for Religion Ethics and Culture, College of the Holy Cross. He has written for Crux, America, and the Huffington Post and is an occasional commentator for Vatican Radio, Euronews, Catholic News Service, and the Canadian Broadcasting Company.
