Speaker 1 (00:01):
Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All Right, again, a big
thanks to Tripper for sponsoring this podcast, and uh well
we'll fire up the airtime pro stream and do something
participlarly Employment awareness States. Give me a few minutes here.
But before I go any further, I had mentioned the
other day how Gavin Newsom was telling Ice what are
(00:25):
you afraid of? Meaning why don't you just unmasked? What
are you afraid of? And I I always believe in
standing up for law enforcement and not having them doxed.
And I always believe in balance. Right, if you're gonna
call out ICE for being masked, why didn't you call
out all the BLM rioters for being masked? Where where's
(00:46):
that uh double you know, talk about a double standard?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Right?
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Where where's that justice? Lie? But I will not not
hold Ice accountable. We've seen a few disturbing videos over
the last few days, but the one that's really sticking
with me is this woman who was outside an immigration
court in New York City pleading with Ice to return
(01:12):
her husband. I mean, look politics aside. When you get
your family ripped away from you, it is traumatic, it
is awful, and you want to do whatever you can
to get them back, to get them back. So I
do not blame this woman one bit for crying, for
begging for them to release her husband. But remember that
(01:34):
how that escalated and the woman was pushed was pushed
to the ground by an ICE officer. Why have some
news for you? And I'm really pissed about this that
officer returned to duty after being initially fired. He was
(01:57):
put back to duty because there's a preliminary review of
the incident. What review do you need to keep this
guy employed?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
You know?
Speaker 1 (02:11):
And I am all for law enforcement, but I'm also
for holding officers accountable. I hope Derek Chauvin rots in hell,
but I will say this, you have to fire this guy.
I get there's a review and all that, but the
(02:34):
Department of Homeland Security themselves denounced the officer's conduct as
unacceptable and beneath the men and women of ICE. So
then why is he allowed back on the force. And
then you see this other guy, and I get it
he was taunting ICE agents, but then they run after
him on the bicycle and attack of It's like we're
(02:56):
watching the most insane videos out of all that. Yes,
and and the not good side of ICE now always say,
what do you mean there's a good side advice. I
always believe there's a good side of law enforcement and
keeping law. I do believe in that. But when these
officers are literally with their badge rough housing a poor
(03:17):
woman trying to find out why her husband's and immigration
court awaiting deportation, it's unacceptable and it's vile too that
he's back on duty. Our eyes to law enforcement are
(03:37):
held to out the highest personal standards, and the officer
being relieved with current duties.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
As reconductible investigation. That's what they said Friday, and now
he's back on duty. As my friend Ryan would say,
make it makes sense.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Because I don't understand how this officer has been this
one can be allowed to be back on But I
will again I've said this before. I think we should
allow ICE to do its job, but when they go
over the top, it must be called out. Let me
say that again. ICE must be able to do its job,
(04:19):
but when it gets over the top, they must be
called out because if they want to be in this
upstanding law enforcement masks or masked or not masked, maybe
not pushing a woman who's clearly in distress to the
(04:39):
ground or a biker, a delivery guy on a bike
who's just you know, throwing spats at you. You know,
it's awful. Yes, it's stupid that he was tolding them,
but then you push him on the ground. Come on,
there's a way to keep us safe, and then there's
a way to abuse behind the badge. And that is
(05:02):
what I felt I've been seeing lately, and it's uncalled
for and it's nothing about you know, I'm not saying
defund everything. No, we need the NYPD, we need law enforcement.
But with that comes responsibility and accepting it. And by
(05:23):
putting this guy back on the duty, I know he's
under review, but just there's not much to review. It
looks horrible. He's back on the job. According to the
Ice Ice they said the woman is also in the
US unlawfully and faces deportation proceedings as well, but that
(05:44):
gives no excuse for pushing her to the ground the
way they did, or for any anyway. So I hope
this guy can lose his job, and I hope those
at rough House, instead of calmly doing their job, get
(06:06):
face accountability. And you know the other thing about social
media today is we're only seeing the rough housing right.
I don't think we're ever seeing ICE in a good light,
and that's just because of the nature of what they do.
But we have to remember their officers, they have families,
and I think the fact that they are trying to
keep us safe. Dean Kine too, apparently is it is
(06:33):
commendable that they're trying to But there's a decorum, there's
a way to do it, and pushing a woman to
the ground is not the way to do it. That's
not how we have one leg up on keeping our
immigration system safe. It's just a way to make it
(06:57):
even more controversial, even more in the public eye. And unfortunately,
if he gets if he gets a stay, then I
do believe that that's a precedent for more rough housing.
And that's not that to me, that's not how an
officer should be. You can do your job, but you
(07:19):
have to do it the right way. And I'm pretty
sure that's why p TEX has had this big, on
a bigger scale military meeting yesterday, to do your job
the right way. Well, maybe if we see this guy
fired for good, it'll set the tone for how they
(07:39):
expect officers of the law to behave. And I think
that's what we have to do that a person has
to be set and it starts with the firing of
this ass who threw her to the ground at twenty
(08:00):
six Ventral Plaza. That's it for one lug up Alex News.
I had to follow up on this because I felt
I was very very pro law enforcement defending ice and
there are times where you just cannot defend their behavior
and actions. And I say that law enforcement across the
board and we're gonna call them out when they need
to be here at one leg of Alex
