Speaker 1 (00:00):
I want to get to some news before we get
to Lindsay' zerlat because Lindsay, I know you're there. I'm
excited to have you. But you know, some big news
happened today for the people with disabilities that are LR commuters.
I'm sure you heard this before, but uh ADA riders
will be able to pay get this folks, half fair

(00:22):
all day long, no matter if it's pink. Lindsey, you
know this. I've been campaigning for this for a long while.
It's a big honor to finally see it happen. Not
that I had a lot to do with it, but
I feel like I could take a claim in this
that we are advocating here at One Leg Up Alex
for fairness for people with disabilities. It's happening, Lindsay. Big
win for the One Leg Up Alex Adapts crowd. The

(00:43):
ADA fair is going to be all day long, which
I think we've been campaigning for with the LR here
at this podcast. So it feels like we can take
a claim in that win. And as you know, fairness
fairs is good for people with disabilities. But yes, it's
a good foreshadow for tonight because the Yanks play the
Red sox a rivalry renewed. How fired up are you,

(01:03):
Lindsey Sports Flash.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I am so fired up? You have no idea?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Well tell us how fired up? Because I mean, look,
we have Max Freed who had nineteen wins and only
four losses, and if he didn't have that dumb blister,
he would have been he would have been over twenty
wins easily. Lindsey, Yes, correct, So so talk to me,
what are your thoughts today?

Speaker 3 (01:31):
I think Max Freed has to come out hot, Judge
got to come out hot. Stan has to come out hot,
and Volpey even though Vopi struggled this whole entire season
and he just fined.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
He needs to find a way.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
To be the Vopie who he was last year when
he was already let's.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Go back last year when he hit that Grand Slam.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I mean, you're a I watched that game. I watched
that game.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Household you're Italian fan and all, yeah, you're also in
the short stop position in your world? How happy for you?
Were you? That? Were you? For that kid?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I felt something so special about Anthony Volpi because I
know when you struggle as a as a rookie, he
knows that he needs to be his best, the way
how Derek Jeter was when he was a rookie, and
I remembered he struggled his years when he became a

(02:34):
Yankees shortstop.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
And you saw his struggles. I mean we all did.
And then of course, yeah, we all start. But lindsay,
when you see the community saying, oh cut volpie, I
just I never vibe with that. I don't believe that's
the right energy to bring into you. Now.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Honestly, I was frustrated with him, but you know, I
don't mean that kind of stuff. And we know we
all got for us. It was everyone's like, oh, trade
this guy, I'll.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Get rid of him. Oh he sucks, and come on,
I just give him a chance.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yeah, And I think he's gonna get that chance tonight
in the.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Post I think will I think it will.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Aaron Judge incredible statline going into the postseason. I get
another guy, if he wasn't injured, would have had easily
sixty homers or at that but his average consistent throughout
the whole year. That's a huge sign of going into
this wild Card series here, Yes, he might actually get
to hit cruche tonight. I really feel it.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
How many homeowns. Do you think Judge is gonna have
tonight tonight?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
I don't know tonight, but I'll say.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
I'll say maybe, I'll say maybe one, maybe.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
One.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
He said last week he wants to win every game.
I want to see him do it. I want to
see him do that for this team. And I think
Stanton's gonna be October stand which will be fun to work.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
The way would the way how Judge played this.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Year, he has to be that guy in this playoffs.
This year, no doubt, out better than last season. But
you know, for get last season, forget last scene. How
he was this year is a new start in the
postseason this year and tonight, all right.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Let's get to row. Donald's gonna be the game too.
I mean, we got to focused one game at a time,
I know, and we we'll do a Game two preview tomorrow.
But I like the rotation against this Boston team. I
really do too. And then because are gonna go with
camp for Game three if it gets there, I would
like to see us go to and zero and then
get into that Toronto series, which is not gonna be easy,

(04:34):
and we can talk about it and sit here and
say wow, the Yan Division winners.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Let's take one game out of time. Let's where it
wasn't I. Let's focus on beating Boston and then get
through the series and then play Toronto. Even though that's
but I think could be anybody.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I love that confidence and enthusiasm. Lindsey, you are appearing
on this space for the first time. We did one
on the other one which didn't record. That was my mistake. Anyway,
one log ab Alex Sports Lindsay's Eerlis Sports Flash collab here,
Uh talk about your show and how cool it is.
I got to interview not one, but two, you know,
giant favorites. I mean Tyrone, Tracy and Uh and Tommy DeVito.

(05:16):
Of course you met Malik as well. But interviewing these guys,
what's that like? To break in that in that way?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
My feeling was when I first interviewed who like Tommy DeVito,
wood Bridge and Jersey, I felt I wanted to be
that person to interview players and I was so happy
I was able to ask some questions and then and
then interviewing Tyrone was like special to interview somebody who

(05:46):
I wanted to talk to and act some a bunch
of stuff. And meeting Malik was crazy. But then meeting
Jackson Dart at an access, he seemed like a dude
that's down to earth, so nice.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I would totally want to interview those two.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Next, I know you mentioned Jackson, you mentioned Malik. I mean, look,
Jackson had an incredible game on Sunday and against the Chargers,
and he beat a undefeated Charger team.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
His first touchdown. Like, wow, the whole problem with bananas.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Lindsay sound like a sports talk show host. I love it.
I also thought it was so angl climac because of
that injury to Malik, which is seas ending. However, maybe
it's a good sign the Giants can overcome adversity. I
know it's one game, but maybe it's a good uh
Fore voting for the rest of the year with this team.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
No I say about malik injury dot com, I like
Davis say me, actors, Tyrone got hurt, forget about it.
I was like, I'm not gonna talk to anyone.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I was like, you know, just do it. Just talk
to people, tell him how you know, how you feel
about it.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
But that was a devast that was devastated seeing my
leak go down with that injury and ending in season
with a tour in a cl which nobody wanted to see.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
All right, you're an athlete yourself. You're gonna play softball
tonight during the first game, which I mean, look, you
gotta play, you gotta get reps in. But I hope
you're following the game everything.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I will be, I will I will be. I'll be
checking my phone, no out of doubt.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
But but you're going to these games with a heavy
heart because I know last week you felt Tyrone's absence
even as you were playing.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Right, Yes, when Jackson throw through that bomb to my
leak and then that's when it happened.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
But you yourself when you play, do you feel like
you are not in buying these guys but you're doing
what they're doing in a sense in a softball field. Yes,
And I know that you've been playing to do our kid,
tell us about your your athletic history. I'm curious.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
I used to be not as good when I used
to be, because I remember, I will those strikeout and
something get some first rate I'll think, oh I suck.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I suck.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
But then I got lessons and then I got better,
and then I basically barn started learning how to play
I'll learn you know, different positions than second base.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
And you got some speed on you, which is awesome
to see. How you also overcame a hamstring injury too,
which was pretty pretty big. But going back to the
sports flash, you know you also now have spun off
from your YouTube. Now you've got a podcast page. What'd
you like to have? There's all this content out there.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I just like talking about other certain players on my
episode which is coming this week actually, and I'm gonna
be talking about Tyrone Tracy Junior and that episode eight
will be my Leaking Neighbors, and then episode nine will
be Jackson Dark.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
And I hope you're following the breaking news as they
come down, right, I'm sure you're following the news as
it comes down. You've done six episodes already. And I
remember when you first started, it was a little like
not shy, but you were a little nervous. How do
you feel now? I feel like you've grown into it.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I felt like I have grown out of Michelle of
being confident and not being nervous, not being shy. But
you know it, hey stuff idmans, but you know, confidence
is confidence full disclosure.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
We did an interview a while back and I was like, oh,
Lindsay was good, but I think you knew better than
look at you. You're you're you're a star now, yes?
And where can people follow your your social and your
Instagram and.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
All that follow me on Instagram on the Lindsay Zerla
sports Flash and my Twitter Lindsay zerlup ten that's my
Twitter account name.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
And if you heard our other space, you know it's
Lindsay and I's favorite time of the year, of the season.
Why is also special to you? I know it's because
be postseason, my birthday, NFL kicking up. But what's it's
for you? What makes the whole season special?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
I just love fall because football season, you know, Giants, Football, Yankees, postseason, Rangers, preseason,
Hot Yankees, nixt.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Pre seasons out.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Between all and we all waiting for for the season
to come. That's what my favorite type seed is fall
because I love fall.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
And I know that you're a superstitious, so you do
want to be at the stadium, but also I know
you want to do you like to stay in and
almost be at home and watch it and in the
superstitious way, right.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Yeah, I think I'd rather watch it home than people
don't distract you when you're watching the Yankee game, Like, Hey, no,
I'm trying to watch Yanke But I don't really say that.
I try to be respectful, but.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I love it. We all have our superstitions. I wear
my hat. I picked out the outpa. Did they with
the world's serious championship? To win it? To wear it
into existence? In the grand scheme of things? Thirteen wins
fields achievable with this team, doesn't it. That's what it's
gonna take. Thirteen wins to be the twenty eight time
world champions and.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Hopefully the Yankees do get to the Royal Series again.
I compete against the Dodgers. Well, everyone's gonna be waiting for.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I don't know if the Dodgers have it in them.
I really they've been struggling. They might not have anything.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Oh yeah, never mind about that, but who knows.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
What.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Let me ask you about this. Uh, last time we
won was on nine And I always say this every
time we're in there. What were you doing in two
thousand and nine? And did you ever think when you
were watching them as a kid? Basically like I know,
in college, for me and for you, we were kids.
Now we're doing this professionally, What where were you sixteen
years ago?

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Though, this is gonna find sounds kind of funny because
I used to live in Rotten County before I became
a Burning County girl. So so I would watch a
Yankees World series definitely at home.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
I remember being there down the rightfield line watching them
win it, and I had been there ten years earlier
in nineteen ninety nine. It was very special both times
with my dad, and I know I miss him the
last couple of years, and this is the second postseason
without him here. Yeah, without him here, also his Cubs.
As you know as a big Cub fan, they make
it for the first time since my dad passed, So

(12:28):
it's a lot of emotion, but you know it was
it was fun to watch, and you got to see
CC as a Yankee. I mean, what a what a
career cocludo Zimbers Hall of Fame induction, right.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I met CEC too, actually in a restaurant, don't know
what it was called, but it was pretty cool that
I ran into him.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Oh and he's one of the nice guys. He will
stop for a photo. He didn't have me at Pinstripe.
Probably very very awesome guy.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah, also just even interviewed him last year afinax Fest.
Shout out to Chris See Kayler.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah, at Fanatics Fest. But I have to say this
and uh, I say. You also talked about the Giants
and how you got into the giant fandom because of
another legend in New York, Eli Manning. Talk about that.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I think Eli was very espresso way back when he
won those two Super Bowls from seven twenty eleven.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
I felt that moment of him was beating Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
And he did it twice, and.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yes, did it twice? Done it twice?

Speaker 1 (13:36):
You agree he should have been the first Battle Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
He should have been at one hundred. Like, I don't
know what to say, because he should have been in it.
It makes those sense over over those other guys and
over him.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
By the way, if you're listening to Lindsay's emphasis, I
feel like she's gotten more emphatic on her videos with
the different You're you're really showing your passion, which I
encourage you to do from the beginning. Now it's showing,
it's shining through Linday.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I'm very passionate.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
I mean, you ever been you You've yelled at TVs
I'm sure over the years.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
My mom when I do that, she would get so ah,
she can't stand the streaming.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
I'm like, ma, it's part of sports. The sports do
sports fans yell, that's what they do, screaming at the
TV yeps me?

Speaker 1 (14:22):
All right, where do you want to see, Linday sports
slash grow to? What's your next goals?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Do more episodes.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
And interview and the fact you're on podcast? How cool
is that? Now?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
I felt great that I put myself out there to
show the world who I really am, and I want
them to be gause. I want them to know who
I am. So this season, Oh, that's who's been doing
her episode. She's been through her podcast, she's been doing
all that kind of stuff, talking about athletes, her favorite players.

(15:00):
That's who I am.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
All right, were you just talking as a kid? Did
you see this media sports? Because a I has listened
with a sports journalist. You know this because I sent
you and I was like, oh my god, Lindsay's a
sports journalist in the world of and they know you
out there. Lindsay, But did you ever see this happening
or were you sort of shiners or when you were younger.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
You know, I have always thought of this, Curlie. I
have always wanted to do this because I know, I
see you know when you watch people like press conference,
it's like, oh, I want to be done one.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Day and maybe you will get that seat at the
table as a in the press credential world. We'll have
to see how that would be awesome. But lindsay, enjoy
the rest of the postseason. I know we're not doing predictions.
I hate predictions, but it feels right to ask two
out of two, two out of three. I mean, the
Yanks need to advance.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
There's a win tonight and then talk about tomorrow and
then just get through one serious out of tend I'm
beating Boston.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Now. I haven't said this premise on the one that
got Alex Network, but I'm going to right now. With
the wild Card so close to the end of the year,
it's not like ten days away, it's literally two days later.
It just feels like another series. These guys have to
play to get to the next level. Yep. But that
being said, they all say it's a different script of October.
It's you know, in the postseason. But the Yates are

(16:23):
on an eight game win streak, there's no reason it
can't become nine game win streak tonight if you include
the last eight regular SE's a games.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Lindsay, Yeah, I think they got this. I have a
good feeling about the Yankees this year.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
They really do.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
They got some talented hitters, Davis gott come out to play.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
That's all matters.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Turning point for me, there were two. The fact that
they got rid of DJ, which we all kind of
miss him, but they need to do the business move
with that. They moved Jazz to second, which made the
defense more comfortable, I think, because hey, the pitching is
more comfortable because hey, they knew that defense was gonna
behind him. Then you get Cabiarro and McMahon and yeah, Ario,
but Cabiaro at McMahon had been game changers as Bendar.

(17:03):
I mean, those three acquisitions right there challenged the season,
and that move that week and two when they cut
the DJ changed the entire year round.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Yeah it smit a whole different team.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Does feel it now. I don't know if you want
to mention it, but the Mets not making the playoffs
that you laugh, What was your feeling on it?

Speaker 2 (17:25):
So?

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Man, he was mistake but not but not saying with
the Yankees, but he didn't want to.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
All right, Lindsay, Well, I'm gonna wrap it up here,
but I'm gonna post this on my podcast page. Well
we'll do this again in the next couple of the games.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yes, for sure. And let's go Yankees, let's go Yanks.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Thanks for Rian, Lindsay, Thanks you too.
