Yeah, did you feel like you guys.

Speaker 7 (01:02):
Felt Yeah, we actually because it was it was flying
up were on thirty six, right, Yeah, so I would

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I want to give.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Wow. So I'm not really at someone.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
You thought movies and looked up. It was like, look
for the hatch? Did you add all of it for that?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I did, but you up.

Speaker 7 (02:02):
The worst part is because you guys mentioned it, so
then it got into my Twitter stream. And the worst
part about being stuck in an elevator in twenty sixteen
is how many not funny comments come to it.

Speaker 8 (02:16):
The movie double Oh my God, come on.

Speaker 7 (02:22):
Lady was so that was the most annoying part of it.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
To be honest with you, I was stopped looking at
my tweets.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
We fuckedrow over.

Speaker 2 (02:32):

his apartment.

Vick is hung outside my apartment. So we're we're getting
there closer.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
It's getting closer where we might get to see each
other's apartments.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I don't know, well, I'm not allowed in.

Speaker 9 (02:46):
Carl apparently can show up at any moment.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
He was like, I'm like, I have wine for your wife.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
He's like, come on up.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
Oh, that's my worst fear, whether whether the lady's Babylon
the whole time, but they just babbling.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I think they were just kind of getting to know
each other.

Speaker 7 (03:08):
It was one of those like you know, like at
the end of the thing, like we're all going to
exchange numbers and like get together on the anniversary of
this every.

Speaker 8 (03:15):
Time time every Thursday, we'll beat.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
But Carl was in a bed, he was in a
bad spot.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
He called me and he's like, let me up, yeah,
and then I want.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
To go Dandrik.

Speaker 10 (03:29):
That was the day I had to sign off everything
and sign a paper to say, you know, some of
us had.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
To learn how to be a chef. Now you just
became one automatically.

Speaker 9 (03:36):

caviar ever we had, and he stacked it like a
club sandwich.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
You gotta eat it.

Speaker 8 (03:45):
Like you knows.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Best day was calls worse. That's all you remember from that.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
You are much the caveat said you wait work the
assaulted my key. I just feel in twenty sixteen you
could get someone out of an elevator a lot faster
than that was.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
That was my point. I was like, how how are
we at this station? You know what I mean? This
building has thousands and thousands of people come in and
out right.

Speaker 8 (04:18):
They these elevator Right.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
It's the kind where you can't push the button on
the inside.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
I don't like that. You can all do it from
the outside. So you're you have to let go of it.

Speaker 7 (04:28):
And it's all technology based, and you know, you got
the guy downstairs, the security guy, trying to explain to
you something that he doesn't understand.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Right.

Speaker 8 (04:37):
Right, if you look at the covers, they're actually velcrode on.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
You can pull them off in the I don't know
that their vel crod on.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
Shard got a lot of attention in the last week
or so with the Pete Davidson Ariana Grande photo.

Speaker 8 (04:51):
Yeah, yeah, I've got got that doubt on what did
I do? I just put it up on Instagram, but
everybody fucking took it and ran with it. It was
on People magazine and Entertainment Tonight and fucking right something else.

Speaker 9 (05:04):
My girl's daughter now wants to go to the wedding.

Speaker 8 (05:07):
Oh right, you got I got her. Yeah, she's just
gonna be the only wedding with a house.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Like geez, it's all what.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
It was crazy? But oh, look at you. I got
some security guy.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Outstands he don't know how to work that elevator, and he's.

Speaker 7 (05:30):
Like, my friend, they are going to go to engineering
and they are.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I'm like, holy, I don't know what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Do we know he was working at Popa's Chickens.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
He was a charge of pep ur Well.

Speaker 6 (05:43):

Speaker 3 (05:50):
He looks good.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
We usually keep in touch. It's been a minute.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, is he all right? He looks alright, he sounds alright.
He killed on stage, right, The motherfucker got a new
energy in him.

Speaker 6 (05:59):
But wide he he breaks up with Larry David's daughter
and then and then gets engaged two weeks later.

Speaker 3 (06:04):

Speaker 2 (06:15):
But it's good to be here. Thanks for having me worries.

Speaker 4 (06:17):

theres two or three. I almost old elevators.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
They actually, ye are the ones in the twenties.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
There was a where there's the sighting door and the
guy who operates it for you. I have more faith
than those too, Yeah, because he is. There's a guy
and you can see the door closed. But the guy's like,
you're on the you're on the lobby level, so we're
just gonna open it up. And I opened the doors myself,
and I'm like, I pushed the button.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
We're not on the lobby, tells which first greeted between it.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
We are on the lobby. We got bigger problems.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Why does it bother you crossed, we've got we got
to talk about something.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
But usually you didn't stop my fucking car accident. My
whole life grew up nine times in front of you.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
He didn't give a ship.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
They didn't give up, did.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Not give a ship.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
Shot there his.

Speaker 10 (07:23):
Fucking pajamas on the thirty eighth floor, and they're like,
it'll it'll work through.

Speaker 5 (07:27):

He's fucking ninety dollars groupon shaman, his fucking mouth shoot
from you're worrying an ariana grande, don't.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Drink Yeah, all right, enough about it. He doesn't want
to hear about elevators. Scared because that's going to be
the rest of my day, is okay?

Speaker 8 (07:47):
Yeah, Ships and pisses though, did you have the shadow piss?

Speaker 7 (07:50):
And there I was getting pretty close, I was getting
pretty fast.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
At some point you could have been like, well fuck them.
If they're not gonna let me out, I'm gonna be
in here.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Because in this day of TMZ, I know you got
a cam up in the corner. Yeah, yeah, waiting for
that one, you know what I mean?

Speaker 8 (08:04):
It would have been good, yeah, because because you don't
get more famous than her. She had to tell you
she got one hundred and twenty one million million dollars
on what on Instagram?

Speaker 2 (08:14):
On Instagram.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
I didn't even think it was that many people Instagram
Fucking how he wants to be He's friends with her.

Speaker 5 (08:19):

Speaker 4 (08:51):
They talked about my plastic bag man.

Speaker 8 (08:54):
Talking about Bill Phillies were making fun of me. I
have a he was going to do a gofund before
I take Shay case. It would have still been better
than us. Jay z Slarnge video that's the best football.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
That one's this one that's rough.

Speaker 8 (09:14):
I would see Dave Lavarro beating up his own dick
in elevator, dragging it out.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
I showed up with a plastic bag with some portable
podcast equipment that didn't work. By the way, I lost
forty killer minutes what killer because it gave it me
that crappy equipment and it finally crapped out.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
For really, Carl, Yeah, I know he wants to make fun.
But were we crushing?

Speaker 6 (09:39):
And then I had to call you the next thing
and go because we only got half that ship, And
then I was and then I put my phone on
to capture some of it.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
Yeah, I mean I wouldn't say crushing.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Here right there.

Speaker 7 (09:57):
You see that video right there we're looking at That's
what I would not want. That bird's eye view of
me urinating in a coffee As.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Long as you're facing the right, I wonder what I'm doing.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
I know, you just gotta understand.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
You get a coffee cup.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
We gotta stand with the camera angles. You would have
been all right, The worst would have been you just
crying in the corner. I wanted to explain everybit. No,
I'm really it's not really not that small. It's the angle. Yeah,
it's just the angle they' shooting me from. All right, Well,
we got David Varrow here, This is awesome.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Got angry Car is a mood.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
We got in a bar for an hour and a half.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I told you you could have walked with me.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
You could have ubered benches twenty eighteen.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I'm not ubering with me and be invictied a little podcast.

Speaker 9 (10:40):
We had to walk along the reservoir and hold hands
and pretends appreciate each other.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
We appreciate what happens when these mics are I'm gonna
secretly take you.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yeah, Morning Sun.

Speaker 7 (10:55):
It's my documentary about well, not to make a dark morning,
but it's about the murder of my mother and the
story that of me going through that and going through
the trauma and capturing the killer and essentially going to
face him in prison and.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Walk into Great Papias. And I'm like, we want hot dogs.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
I'm like, wait a second.

Speaker 10 (11:16):
So in my you know, I think everything that works,
I think it was worse than everything. And I love
op And we're sitting there and he's like, I'm like,
he wants hot dogs. The first thing I said to
him is how many hot.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Dogs do you get? He was like two.

Speaker 10 (11:27):
I'm like, what do you put on him? He's like
mustard sagra. I'm like, okay, normal, dude, I'm into it.
Whatever we get there, I do it also, drugg Oh
you're paying. He gigs out his while he has forty
eight dollars. I said, how does you walk out to ship?
I have forty I have forty eight dollars in duct
taped to my left.

Speaker 9 (11:47):
Yes your business no, hell yes, conch call No.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
We can do a drug deal and he needs a drop.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
Of any time.

Speaker 10 (11:56):
I can meet a drug dealer, and then in five
minutes later, I'm the drug dealer.

Speaker 9 (12:01):
It turns into the Yachtzi somehow.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
Where you relieved they wouldn't allow cameras in when you
went and saw your mom's killer.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
They weren't. Yeah, I was because you know, you watch
a lot of I watch.

Speaker 7 (12:13):
I'm addicted to like Investigation, Discovery and forty eight Hours,
all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
I mean, it's just murder porn. Is I love it? Yeah?
First forty eight is great.

Speaker 7 (12:21):
Yeah, But you know, if you look at a lot
of those those programs, you know they kind of focus
on the killer and me, and you know there's like
a there's a mystery and a mystique that comes along
with that, and I just didn't want to take that approach,
you know, I wanted to focus on the family, and
you know the ripple effect that is caused by you know,
violent defenses like this. So I didn't want to turn

(12:42):
this guy into a folk hero, right, I didn't want
to turn him into a you know, a mysterious character.
So the fact that I couldn't bring a camera in
there because I would have I know, you know what
I mean, but you know California laws are you can't
bring a camera into someone on death row, who was
on death row at that point. And you know, it
worked out good because I got to say what I

(13:02):
wanted to say. I got to sit face to face
with the guy and and to tell you the truth. Man,
there was something really empowering about walking out of there
and leaving him in there, right.

Speaker 6 (13:11):
Yeah, and then Pete Davidson puts an ari on a
Grande tattoo on his neck.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
It's Pete man.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Let me, let me, Let me go with Pete, what
is wrong?

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Let me go. He's a young dude.

Speaker 9 (13:21):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
I feel like although he has no memories break up,
when that whole thing explodes, he'll still have.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
The memories like, yeah, that's right, remember the time.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
You can always cover it up with a nine to
eleven something.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
That's a good joke.

Speaker 7 (13:34):
There's this sense of justice that comes along when a
verdict comes down. But until you go and see what
the conditions are that this guy is living in, you
don't really understand that. You know, you don't really understand
what they're facing. Like they just kind of go away
and then you go on with your life.

Speaker 11 (13:49):
But you start assuming they might have a pretty good
life in there, and well, you think, while they're playing
chess and they're working out, and they're watching TV and
having some laps and you know, maybe getting lucky in
the shower.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Room, knows, you know what I mean, Like you could adjust.

Speaker 7 (14:03):
But let me tell you some man, I don't care
how great it is in there, but there's nothing to
adjust to.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
It's a fucking nightmare. And it was really great to see.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
I will say that important.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Yeah, it was. It was kind of cool to see that.

Speaker 7 (14:15):
You know, this guy spent a lot of his adulthood,
you know, where he was like a viable person locked up.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Can you tell us one banning story?

Speaker 8 (14:24):
Oh, one to I want to hear it. Okay, this
is the right where God bless him.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
I love him like a father.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
He was in a hospital right before he passed away,
but he was still like doing well, but he was
in the hospital.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
And uh, you know, everybody wanted to be like.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
There was this one Melissa, the old manager worked there,
You remember Melissa. Yeah, and I'm just about to do
my spot. Melissa comes running over to me. Look, it's
a dead mouse on top of the sign on stage.
I'm like, what what are you talking about? It's a
dead mouse. I'm like, if you wouldn't have told me,
I wouldn't even know. She's like, don't bring it up.

(15:04):
I'm like, motherfucker you, why are you telling me this?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Now?

Speaker 3 (15:07):
I have to bring it up.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Now.

Speaker 8 (15:10):
It's my job as a comedian just mention the dead
mouse and point at it and put the mic to
it and have.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Him tell jokes.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
These did the mose did a tight ten dead mouse.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
You're gonna have to do twenty minutes on that.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
And I went up. I'm like, it's like fucking north
In and the tails after me.

Speaker 8 (15:28):
I'm like, these dudes definitely want to do it, so
I'm not gonna miss this opportunity. So I went up
and did it, and she got mad and called trying
to get many man. He was like, he didn't even
know the whole story, but he's like he's bad. And
then a couple of days later he was like, I
want you down.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
At the club.

Speaker 8 (15:41):
Yeah, And I was like, I don't have spots man,
and he was like, I just want you to you
have spots, mall, I don't worry.

Speaker 6 (15:46):
Beautiful In the movie mind son, that scene when it's
obvious you can't take anyone else with.

Speaker 11 (15:52):
You to go see him, and you're walking, You're walking
into the you know, and your guys left behind the
camera guy, yeah, and he's feeling it for you, like,
man on how he's going to handle this, like he he.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Really wanted to pretty much hold her hand.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
And then you see Dave just walk into the distance
to go talk to his mom's you know, killer without
the camera.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
I'm like, what it is so powerful that.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
That was all real?

Speaker 9 (16:14):
He was he was, Yeah, he was one of the
best funeral He.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
Used to leave, like belaving circle the block because see
if the employees came out to smoke because they know
he left.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
And that is I fired. I'm a guest chef somewhere.
I fired him.

Speaker 10 (16:33):
It was my first chef firing someone else's.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Did he know you were coming? No, nobody knows.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
He's like, I got a visitor.

Speaker 8 (16:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and that's crazy.

Speaker 7 (16:47):
It was, it was, it was crazy, And was his
first reaction when he found that it was He was stunned.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
He was stune. He couldn't believe it was me. Don't
he know?

Speaker 3 (16:54):
You as like he knew fame.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
And everything that.

Speaker 10 (16:57):
I don't have anything to have to the story except
I'm so happy he's not talking about Ariana.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Fucking How long did you go back to it?

Speaker 2 (17:03):
To the entire part?

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Like sweet girl, I saw the picture, bro.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
She liked it on Instagram.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
She liked it on it like both of them.

Speaker 8 (17:12):
I got a picture of me and me and Pete
and then the group and just she liked both of them.

Speaker 7 (17:16):
How long has he been in jail? Oh Man, since
early nineties? Okay, yeah, yeah, I mean the crime was
in in eighty three, and then he spent I don't know,
maybe eight or ten years on the run and then
taken down by America's most wanted John watsh.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Yeah you know, and there was a young in the
in the court, Yeah, Ricky.

Speaker 9 (17:39):
Ricky took a picture of him and Pete and she
liked I think, yeah, yeah, because they were doing the
on stage manter back and forth.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Oh yea, yeah, yeah, they went on stage together.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
That was great.

Speaker 8 (17:46):
And then we talked about the time they almost got
molested by some dude who was giving him money and stuff.

Speaker 9 (17:51):
I know that story happened, totally know that story.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Well, now you got to tell the story.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (17:58):
They were hanging out with some older giving the money
and weed, and they knew the whole time the dude went,
but they ate it off and pushed my marriage hands
off the legs.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
I mean, did you forgive your mom's fuck?

Speaker 2 (18:20):
No a good? Forgive them no good?

Speaker 6 (18:23):
Now, there's a lot of people that talk about you
know and tell you to actually forgive the person be healthy.

Speaker 7 (18:28):
But I got you know, I gotta forgive that. I
gotta start with the building that put this elevator system in.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Immediate area. Forgiveness.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
You got the boy scouts got there.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I got a story like that.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
I want to hear it.

Speaker 8 (18:50):
Yeah, my boyfriend got fucking fond.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
The canoe.

Speaker 6 (18:56):
No, Fred had a had a rough day because Rod
there something was bad and jumped out of the Wait
wait when he came back, Because y'all on a canoe.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
But he left him. I left him.

Speaker 8 (19:13):
You left, he could have jumped out to him swim
and you left the guy you played with his twink
came back. He never looked the same when he came back.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Oh he came back with that long stare.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
I'm with day though, because a lot of times you
hear you know, you just forgive the person.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Know what they're talking to closure thing?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Come on, there's no closer.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
And what they're talking about is not to forgive him,
because then they're let off the hook.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
What they're talking they're talking about with that.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Is letting yourself off for carrying around some some yeah,
some burden. And I've definitely unloaded myself without forgiving him,
because I think forgiveness is just it's a touchy feely
self help word that gets bandied around when, like, you know,
a girlfriend cheats on.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
But this is this is like murder, you know what
I mean. I'm not I'm not down.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
When I was a little kid, my my mother.

Speaker 10 (20:06):
My mother is super religious, right, which always made me suspected.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
That my parents always think somebody's gonna lest you to right.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
But wait, except my parents, my parents.

Speaker 10 (20:14):
My mom thought she talked to Jesus, she was dumbest
ship when it came to ship like that. And there
was a there was a church cathedral and Patterson and it.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Was a there was a.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
There's a seenior there, and they said, why don't you
take our son? No, why don't you take our son
and help him out?

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Luban son right?

Speaker 5 (20:34):
And I'm like, ma, like the first thing I saw him,
I was a bad street kid. I'm like, that dude gay.
That priest is gay.

Speaker 12 (20:42):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
I like? That's the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
And I'm like, the Holy Spirit's a bird. This guy
is trying to show me his bird. Completely different things.

Speaker 10 (20:53):
God helped me the first day I went there. In
the Herald News, which is a local paper, he's he's
being prosecuted for molesting four altar boys. My father shows
up from the tire shop in the white Cadillac.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
The priests in the door. He's like, hey, Jesse goes,
fuck you, where's my kid? I'm what, I'm in the
back door of rocks at.

Speaker 10 (21:14):
Pigeons because I'm from I was born from the devil.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
He's like, you gotta gom like I just hit a pigeon.
Daddy would a rock And he's cleaning his eyes out.
He's like, get in the car.

Speaker 12 (21:23):
He's a gaze the day, the first day, first days,
just a boy, some fun this recipe, I mean, I'm
winging its recipes, real basic.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
I looked like goose gossip.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
How long did you visit him for? I was in
there for like a half an hour. Maybe it wasn't No, No.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
He was.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
No piece of ship, No, not even remotely.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
What No, didn't that bother was the first thing he said,
Come in.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Well, I'll tell you the truth. Man.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
I didn't expect him to be and I didn't expect,
like I say in the film, like if you listen,
I went, and this might plan into your forgiveness angle.
I went in there to unburden myself and walk through
the fear of seeing this guy, of seeing where he's at,
of you know, getting some kind of awareness in terms
of where things are now in the perspective and the reality.

(22:25):
It wasn't necessarily to forgive him, but I knew full
well going in I'm not going to get an answer
I want. I'm not going to get an apology. I'm
certainly not going to get an explanation that makes sense
if you go into situation and this speaks to situations
and all aspects of life.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
If you walk in.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
With realistic expectations of the outcome.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
You're going to be cool, you what I mean?

Speaker 7 (22:48):
And realistically like I'm not going to expect a murderer to, you.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Know, apologize or apologize.

Speaker 7 (22:54):
Or even if he does, like, it's all cool. We're
going to pound it out now, pound it.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
I don't think so.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
It sounds like you got some power back though, for sure,
for sure, it really.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Is an amazing I can't wait one thing.

Speaker 6 (23:08):
I'm trying to talk about stuff that doesn't give you know, yeah,
I want.

Speaker 7 (23:12):
To do to give it away, but my mom dies
in it.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
It's like we the Titanic.

Speaker 8 (23:33):
Boo boo boo boo boo, boom boo
