president operations at an incredible program calledSmiles Change Lives. As I go way
(00:53):

to check him out and he'll doa little plug as well about that as
well. But to thanks so muchfor joining man, appreciated and uh,
you know, welcome. Hey,I appreciate you having me back. Dam
thanks man, my my pleasure. So before we jump into the stuff,
you know you're a Kansas City residence, so I guess congratulations they say as
(01:15):
for winning the Super Bowl, andthat was the heck of a game.
So, you know, go Chiefs. It's it's amazing, you know.
So is a little quick trivia questionfor you. So Patrick Mahomes right now,
this is has three super Bowl rings? All right? So how many
other NFL quarterbacks right now have superBowl rings? Are you talking about existing?
(01:41):
Playing right now? Playing? Activeplayers right now have three super Bowl
rings? Just no have super Bowlrings period? Period? How many?
Oh? Geez, just just anyany any position? Quarterbacks? Quarterbacks?
Oh? Okay, well, Imean it is Rogers active. Rogers is
(02:04):
one. There you go. Uh, let's see. I don't know his
Flecco still. Is he still outof retirement? I guess we Flo is
not active anymore? So will that'swe're going to be getting pretty close to
the end of the road, arewe we are? That's uh? Joe
Goff, Nope, No, hedid not one. We didn't win.
(02:27):
Did he know he was on theother other side of the team. I
can't think of anyone else off thetop of my exactly the answers three.
So Holmes has three, and thewhole entire league combined us three. I
don't believe I just read this thismorning. So it's it's Aaron Rodgers from
the J. E. T.S. Yes, yes, yes,
yet there is Russell Russe Wilson.Okay and okay, it was always under
(02:51):
the radar mister Matt Stafford Matt's staff. And that's that's where see I went
with you is now pretty crazy, how m little how good Tom Brady was,
you know, true, but howlittle many quarterbacks out there have it.
So a little trivia for you guysout there, it's good. So
if anybody else say trivia questions, please hit us up. I'll always love
(03:13):
to do that there. So let'sget back to where we're meet here.
So let's just tell us a littlebit of update of smiles, changed lives,
where you are with the program,a little background on it, and
why practices need to come on board. Yeah. So, I mean we're
running into our twenty seventy here nowwith the you know, oldest orthodonic access
(03:36):
to care program in the world. You know, we've worked with over a
thousand doctors, We've helped over twentythousand kids those a year stats. Ye
know, at a very base level, we're excited about twenty twenty four.
You know that. You know,we've had some two months lunchless years,
but twenty twenty four feels like arebirth. It feels like a little bit
(03:59):
of a refar. I think alot of people are coming back to the
table. We've got some great newyounger doctors coming in and some wonderful business
partners to help really push the ideaof community access to care. You know,
we are out here helping kids sevento eighteen years old that you know,
need a hand up, kids thatare, you know, facing social
(04:23):
issues at school, or parents arefacing financial issues at home, you know,
things of that nature. We wantto help people that are trying to
help themselves, and there are plentyof kids and families out there that really
need our help. So it's agood time for any doctor to kind of
get a culture of giving back intheir office. And we make it very
(04:46):
easy, very cost effective. We'vebeen doing it for a very long time,
so we would we would love towork with as many doctors as possible
to try and help as many kidsthat need it as possible. And why
would a doctor sign up? Dothey what do they do? What's a
different then what do they do?Yeah? I mean so first and foremost,
you're helping a kid that needs itright, you know, you know
(05:08):
the obvious, the obvious answer. You know, these families are out here.
You know some of the some ofthe other big reasons that people don't
really think about or feel kind ofweird about is you know, this is
a great way to position your practice. This is uh, this is something
that can differentiate you from other practicesin your area. You know, people
(05:30):
who who wants to go to adoctor that doesn't care about their community,
or more to the point, whowants to go to a doctor that does
care about their community. And there'sa there is certainly a marketing aspect there.
There is something to be said aboutsaying, hey, you know what,
I care about our community. Iam part of our community. Let's
(05:51):
let's do this together. Because thebottom line is the more successful our doctors
are, the more kids, themore underprivileged kids they were able to take.
So it's all kind of a synergistickind of situation where you know,
the better we all do, thebetter we can do for people that need
it. This podcast is sponsored byauthomarketing dot com. Hey even orthodotus a

do. It's all about giving backin karma. And you know, you
and I are both big karma people, you know, and instakarma is going
to get you know you smaller ofit. So it's uh, you know,
(07:29):
it's all about you know you're inthe smile business, guys, Well
I'm in the smile business. Electionssmile business. It's a how cool is
that to be in a business whereyou make people smile. My job at
auth of marketing is to make adoctor smile and get more patients in and
get them found. Your job isto help kids get you know, smile
and make it a nice intro withthe doctor. Doctor. Your job is
(07:51):
to make people smile and change theirlives. So it's a win win win
across the board. I'm super stokedabout it. I'm working with you,
We've been working together for a longtime, and I'm really excited to,
you know, kind of announce alittle bit of a little partnership that we
put together as far as helping eachother out and being a value provider for
(08:13):
each of the for each of us, you know, and you just mentioned
it's real important to be able todifferentially say yourself in the community. You
know, you're part of the community, and by giving back it's great pr
It's way to show your care,to show you're giving back, and to
make you different. You know, when it comes to marketing, number one
(08:35):
thing is what makes you different? What's your differentiator? Because if somebody is
looking online, they going to lookat two or three four different practices and
what makes you stand out, Soyou know you have any good stories,
case studies of stories about any practicesthat joined up and did make a difference
in how they stood out in thecommunity. And really, you know,
it's not all guys, it's notabout you know, monetizing this. It's
(08:58):
just feeling good and giving a wayto give back. But at the same
time, why not position yourself assomebody as part of a community is somebody
that's philanthropic, somebody that changes lives. So you want to hollow selling stories
about any practices and how they youknow, we're able to change people's lives
and how they were able to bepositioned. Yeah, absolutely absolutely, And
(09:20):
you said it right, you know, I mean it's it's more of a
value add right. I mean, the one thing that I always see,
and it's never ever lost on me, that the most successful doctors and officers
that we work with are the doctorsthat are able to treat the most disenfranchised
kids. You know, I've oneof the things that we do is we'll
(09:41):
do Smiles Change Lives days, whichis screening days. And we don't obligate
doctors to take a certain number ofkids. Obviously, we want you to
treat as many as possible. Butwe have a doctor down in Bowling Green,
Kentucky who every year does a SmilesChange Lives Day. He'll treat ten
kids a year, but he screensthem all on the same deed day,
(10:01):
so it has a consultation with themand sees where they are in treatment.
And with that he's able to getand we we help as well, we
work with them. There's nothing likehaving a nonprofit being able to open doors
when it comes to getting some publicity. You know, it's just it's just
one of those things. It's oneof our keys to life. And so
we were able to, you know, talk to the local TV station there,
(10:22):
We were able to talk to thelocal newspaper there. And then that
way we get ten kids treated, which is a blessing unto itself. And
then doctor is able to get somevaluable airtime, is able to stay successful,
stay in front of people. Thatway, they're able to you know,
consistently be successful, more successful, and then the next year maybe it's
(10:45):
going to be twelve kids, andthen it's fifteen kids, and although and
those kinds of things. So there'sthere's and there's we have I mean hundreds
of those kinds of stories. Andand like you say, it's not about
necessarily monetizing your give back. Butthe way I see it is we all
have to be we all have todo well to do good, right.
(11:07):
I think that's the old adage whereyou know that the better we do,
the more successful we are, themore we can help each other. And
having a business partner, you know, the one thing that I know that
we aren't. We're not marketers.You're a marketer, Dean. That's we
need your expertise when it comes tothat. I'm I'm very good at talking,
you know, trying to put peopletogether. That's that's my job.
It's you know, we're kind ofa you know, let's connect you with
(11:30):
this and connect you with that. And and so when it comes to our
business partners, you know, andeven though orthodonis, our Orthodonis are experts
and Orthodonia I am not I youknow that's smiles changed lives works to be
able to put the experts together. So whether it's getting American Orthodonics to donate
brackets, to have you give marketing, marketing advice, have the doctor do
(11:54):
the treatment, you know, allof those things we are partnering together literally
to put a smile, and thereis nothing like a smile, especially in
today's world where you know, youknow, fighting fighting negativity with positivity.
So working together it really is,it's it's it's very much a passion project.
(12:15):
And and and like I say,we try and make it as easy
as possible with as much value added. And that that's, you know,
is exactly with the perfect recipe betweenus, you know, it's between the
three of the three parties. Reallyit's a perfect storm if doune correctly,
you know, you where you're youknow, helping kids change kids lives.
(12:35):
Doctors are doing good. They're they'rechanging somebody's life as well. They're they're
and they're being giving back to thecommunity. And then from there, but
what do you do with it?And that's kind of where some marketing is
is how do you differentiate yourself? And what we'll do is will come come
in and work with practices, helpthem figure out how to use this content
(12:56):
to promote yourself doing good. It'sagain it's not about monetizing it. Both
think of it as something that's youknow, you know, get to put
money in your pocket. But it'sa way to stand out, and you
have to stand out these days. You can't just you know, put up
a website and say, you know, we offer invisil and come on in,
or we do what we're you know, we do braces. That doesn't
(13:16):
do it anymore. You have tohave a differentiator, all right, and
this is an incredible way to doit because it's giving making people smell you.
It's good news and you said, get to get pressed out of it.
And you know, working with amarketing company, we help you facilitate
that, and we help get thevideos going and we help come up with
strategies that are going to make adifference and give you content to put out
(13:39):
there, because you know, youdon't want to have just generic stuff on
your Instagram page. You want tohave things that are or get that are
you know, real authentic content. You want to have things on your website
or YouTube, you know, TikTokor whatever it is that is authentic.
And that's you know, great, because you've got content being done, you
might as well make a difference anduse it. And you know when that's
(14:03):
something I'm proud to be able tooffer. You know this, you know,
this pre opportunity for practices we're givenback and now okay, now,
as we'll figure out a way touse it. That's going to make everybody
happy, you know. And younothing better than making people smile, you
know. So I'm real stal goodabout that. That's you know, there's
(14:24):
not much you could And I lovethe word. My one of my favorite
words is authentic. It's it's youknow. There's the reason I love it
is because there's no arguing with authenticity. You cut, you know, and
the bottom line is these kids smile. We were able to all work together
to make it happen, and thereis not a better feeling in the world.
And it's just wonderful to be ableto partner with you guys, to
(14:46):
be able to get these out there, you know, to be able to
to explain that a little bit.I mean, you know a lot of
officers do not have the time tothink about these things and we and I
can totally under appreciate that. Solet us think about it. Yeah,
no, let's see, so let'sall work together to make it all happen
exactly, you know, And it'sall about smile. I mean, I
(15:09):
can't say it enough, you know, as the Great Jerry Grassias said,
nothing left to do. Smiles smiles, smile, smile, smile, smile
exactly. And where men, ifyou can make somebody smile today, you
did a good deed, you know. So, you know, quick closing
