a fireplace and a Christmas tree andother things to give it the appearance of
a home. And so they're havingthe services there at Albany. And then
I understand there's a splendid group ofyoung people gathered in a home at Lenore,
(01:53):
and so we dedicate graciously and gladlythe services tonight to you, dear
young people in Radio Lands. I'mgoing to ask the choir to open up
tonight with a Christmas number entitled Harkthe Herald Angel Thing with mister Harkers at
the piano, mister Miller directing theFountain Avenue Baptist squire. My wasn't that
(03:46):
fine? I could just hear theyoung people of an Albany Arguist and Or,
Idaho singing with us. Next Sundayevening, the services are going to

letter stating that request. We'll beglad to send you one just as quickly
(08:54):

mailing, it will be necessary forus to delay the little pamp with giving
the keys to the different books thesixty six books, we're going to have
to delay that until after the firstof the year. I'm enlarging that book
and making it a little Christian workershandbook on outlines of the different books with

ask mister Hartness at this time togive us a number on the piano.
Some Christmas chimes, Bob, willyou all right, mister Hartnett about m
(11:22):
M and a A. You've justheard mister Harker's playing a Christmas number.
(12:22):
I'm very happy to have mister Harknesswith us in these services on the radio
Revival Hour. Now, this isthe Sunday before Christmas, and I know
that hundreds of you are listening inup in the sections of the country where
it's cold and wintery outside. Nodoubt you are gathered in the home around
the lighted Christmas tree, and perhapssome of you have the old base burner
(12:46):
just going and roaring away in yourhome. And you're, no doubt in
the parlor on this Sunday evening listeningto the service. Of course, down
here in Hollywood we call up thedrawing room, at least I understand they
do. But this is full ofI still call it the parlor, and
we just hope that you have alot of Christmas cheer this year. But
(13:07):
you know, in some homes tonight, I'm sure that their lonely hearts,
some of you have some empty chairs, some loved ones have gone on or
spending their first Christmas in the gloryabove. And I'm going to ask the
choir to sing at this time asong God will take care of you.
(13:28):
We're going to dedicate this to Grandma'sGarnet of Levingworth, Washington, and for
Missus H. Cleveland of Sebastopol,California, and for the mother of Mildred
Raffle of Meridians, Idaho. Andyou just sing it right out into their
hearts, won't you? All right? Yes, he will, my friend,
(15:20):
God will take care of you.And we're thankful tonight that we have
our High Priest who can be touchedwith the feeling of our infirmity. You
remember last Sunday night, Missus Fullerreading over the air the story of the
conversion of a member of our veteranof the Foreign Wars here in southern California.
Well, just a few days agothis week, early the latter part
(15:41):
of last week, rather received acard from another member, a veteran of
the Foreign War here in southern California, who was greatly touched by that letter
last Sunday night, and he gavehis heart last Sunday night to the Lord.
He said, I am a disableWorld War veteran, and I'm giving
my heart to the Lord tonight thatI have been a drinking man, and
(16:06):
the rest of my family are Christians. And last Sunday night he knelt down
and gave his heart to the Lord. I'll tell your friends in radio land.
It just rejoices our heart and justmakes this bubble over with joy.
When we get letters and cards likethat, we can only just give you
here and there a touch on becausetime does not permit to read all the
letters that we would like to read. I'm going to ask a choir to
(16:30):
sing another song that's been requested.Tonight, my faith looks up to THEE
for mister and Missus Thompson of Spokane, Washington and his son Harry, who's
in the ranger station at Paraschell,Colorado. And for celebration of the fiftieth
wrinning anniversary of mister and Missus fMS. We received the cards, but
not the name, just the initialsof Conden, Oregon. And then for
(16:53):
missus Mamie Gibson of Maxwell, California. My faith looked up to the two
very may we bow our heads ina moment of prayer, our Father tonight
(18:23):
we bow in thy presence with heartsfull of thanksgiving and praise for having received
the Gospel into our hearts, andhaving passed from death and the light,
we know that we've been translated outof the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom
of His dear Son. And wethank you the Knight for the great privilege
that we have to be called thesons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
(18:45):
And on this happy Christmas season andoccasion, we do thank THEE for
that gift, the unspeakable gift, the gift of thy Son. For if
thou thou hast told us in thyword that thou didst so loved the world,
that thou didst give thine only begottenson, and who's whoever believes in
him should not perish, but haveeverlasting life and Father. While thousands are
(19:08):
giving gifts one to the other, and rightly so, may thousands tonight come
and receive the gifts of gifts theLord Jesus Christ, and may they open
their heart, for He's standing thisChristmas season at the door. He's saying,
if any man hear my voice thatI'm knocking and will open the door,
(19:30):
is that I'll come in. Andwouldn't it be wonderful tonight if the
Lord Jesus could come in by faithinto the hearts of hundreds. All we
pray for you Father out in radioland, and for you mother, and
for you son and daughter, brotherand sister. We want you to know
(19:51):
him and to have eternal life. And so Father, we pray that the
Holy Spirit may bring conviction. Andthey speak to hearts. We're not so
much concerned about speaking to their heads. We want to speak to their hearts,
Heavenly Father, And so that Tho'llgive us a missa and maybe be
ask clay in the potter's hands, fireable, yielded, being willing, will,
(20:15):
are willing to be molded and tobe usable, and so to speak
through us, For this is Thyhour, this is Thy words, and
this is the work of salvation. To make no nice son, and we'll
give you the glory for all weask it in his name. Amen.
I'm sorry to night friends and readylaw that Missus Fuller and Danny unable to
be with us. They'll be withus next Sunday. Night Lord Willing and
(20:37):
Missus Fuller just sent her love toyou. She got up in the night
last night to take care of Dannyand it's coming down with the cold,
and it didn't seem wise for herto come, and she just had some
many lovely letters to read to you. But that's one of the all things.
And we'll just wait patiently until nextSunday night, and mother and Danny
will be here in the studio andyou'll hear the letters, and Danny will
(21:02):
sing for the boys and girls nextSunday night. You know, we've learned
long time ago that disappointments are Hisappointments, and that all things work together
for good to them that love God. Now, upon this Christmas season,
I know there's some out in radioline you perhaps do not know just which
way to turn, of what todo. I'm going to ask the choir
(21:22):
to sing a favorite number of mine. He's the one, He's the one
that song. I'm sure that you'reloved the words this song is sounds.
Let me have the songs up?May I read him there just a moment?
Thank you? All right? Noticethe words of the first song a
(21:45):
first version writer. Is there anyonecan help us? One who understands our
hearts when the thigns of life havepierced until they bleed, One who sympathizes
with us, who is wondrous loveimparts just a very very blessing that we
need. And then the chorus says, Yes, there's one, only one,
(22:06):
the blessed, blessed Jesus. He'sthe one when afflictions press the soul,
when the ways of trouble rose, and you need a friend to help
you, He's the one. AndI want to point you to the only
one that can give you lasting satisfactionand peace and forgiveness of sins. And
that's Christ and him crucified all right, one of the words. He's the
(23:55):
one. I want the chod singthat third verse. Listen, my friend
(24:26):
out in radio land tonight. You'vetried a thousand ways to find peace and
comfort. Perhaps your heart is breakingtonight with a load with trouble. You're
in despair, disheartened. I wantyou to know there's only one in all
the eternal realms. There's only onethroughout eternity that you can trust. You
(24:49):
can trust him right now, andhe's willing to come in and be a
friend an advocate. Apparently, thisone that stands by a friend in and
he's the one. I want youto know that who many many of childs
is full and I gone to Godhas graciously permitted us to go through and
we've rejoiced in him. We've foundtime after time how sweet it is just
(25:15):
to turn to him and to goto him, and he strengthened, cheers
and comforts, guide and direct singthe third verse choir, May some heart
be touched out in Radio La tonight. Yes, he's the one. I
(26:23):
want the choir just in a minuteto sing that song Christ receiveth sin for
men somehow tonight it just seems thatthe Holy Spirit is pulling in this direction,
guiding us in the selection of songs, because we feel that so many
in radio land are in need,in need of Him, the Lord Jesus
(26:44):
Christ, and friends in radio Land. I want you to know that our
sole purpose and soul ambition these SundayNight messages is to speak to those that
are outside of Christ and to buildup the saints and the faith and to
give the word. And we're notin doubt and we're not sponsored. We
go just which God provides, andso we do appreciate and especially in these
closing days around the holidays, whateveryou may be led to send in will
(27:07):
be greatly appreciated. The expensive broadcastsand our burdens are heavy, and God
knows all about it, and maybejust appreciate whatever you can do, and
no gift is too small, andwe'll acknowledge everything from ten cents up and
use it for His glory and forthe spreading of the words as full.
And I are dedicated to under Hisservice just to give forth the word,
(27:30):
to sow the word, and topreach the words. And that's all we
want to do in these days forHis glory. But we want to have
the choir sing just before the messagetonight two verses of Christ receiveth ten for
men and friends. That's exactly whatwe're trying to do, is to make
(28:27):
the message plain and simple. Wewant you just to know the ABC of
the gospel, because when I standbefore the judgment seat of Christ some day,
I want to be free of theblood of every man with whom God
lets me come in contact with. And I appreciate this privilege of speaking out
(28:48):
over Western America, and I wantto give out the Gospel and no uncertain
tones, and so choir sing itagain. I know that there's some boy
or some girl, some father, some mother out radio land the night that
needs Christ, and we want tosee Christ receive it. Sentleman, sing
it again. You're listening to theradio revival coming over to you from k
(29:44):
n X, a voice of Hollywood, the Reverend Fuller speaking now, I
want you to take your Bible tonightand turned with me to the second chapter
of Acts, verse thirty eight.Acts. The second chapter, verse thirty
(30:06):
eight. Then pears said, underthem, repent and be baptized, every
one of you in the name ofJesus Christ, for the remission of sin,
and ye shall receive the gift ofthe Holy Spirit. I want to
speak upon those few words, thelatter part of that verse, which says
the gift of the Holy Spirit.I just want to talk to you tonight,
(30:29):
heart the heart, talk just outof my heart on the gift of
the Holy Spirit. You know, this is a season for gifts, the
giving and the receiving of gifts. And everyone is gift minded thinking about the
gifts that they are to give andto receive. And in the Bible we
(30:51):
find much about gifts and about giving. Corinthians tells us about the unspeakable gift,
and James one seventeen tells us aboutthat every good and every perfect gift
cometh down from the Father above andof course, we have that great verse,
the sixteenth verse of the third chapterof John, which reads as follows,
For God so loved the word worldthat he gave He's only begotten son,
(31:15):
that who's whoever believes in him shouldnot perish, but have everlasting light.
Now I'm gonna speak to you tonightabout a gift that differs in many
respects from the gifts that you mayreceive this coming Tuesday evening are a Wednesday
the morning. You know, whenwe give a gift, it's usually at
his Christmas seas. It's wrapped upin the Christmas decorations, Christmas colors,
(31:40):
and sometimes the little word is putupon the gift, do not open until
Christmas. And we wonder when wesee the packages at the foot of the
Christmas tree, just what is inthose packages? And then on Christmas morning
we open up the packages, wefind what the loved ones have had in
their heart to give to us.And so we appreciate of what they do
(32:04):
and the thoughts that they have towards. But tonight I want to speak to
you upon a gift. God hashidden that gift and hasn't told us to
wait until a certain day to openthe package to see what the gift is.
But he not only tells us aboutthe gift that we may have that
gift, but he tells us agood deal about the gift itself. And
(32:27):
I want to speak to you tonighton receiving one of the greatest gift,
if not the greatest gifts possible toreceive. Now, we receive many gifts
that are part of those giving. Not always the amount of money enters in
to make a sacrificial gift. Sometimesthey small amount of money represents a greater
(32:52):
sacrifice on the part of many thana large sum of money that those who
can well afford to spend represent. Now God tells us here in the second
chapter of Acts, verse thirty eight. He says, repent and be baptize
every one of you in the nameof Jesus Christ for the remission of sin,
and ye shall receive the gift ofthe Holy Spirit. There are two
(33:14):
verses, or another verse rather thanI want to call your attention to it's
found in the thirteenth verse of theeleventh chapter of Acts. Christ there speaking
to his disciples, said, ifye, being evil, know how to
give good gifts under your children, how much more shall the Heavenly Father,
give the Holy Spirit to them thatacts. If ye, being evil,
(33:36):
know how to give good gifts underyour children, how much more shall the
Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit tothem that asks. And so we find
there in Luke eleven thirteen that Godis willing to give the Holy Spirit to
them that asks. That was beforethe Cross, before the Resurrection, before
the Ascension, and before the comingof the Holy spit Pentecost. And then
(34:01):
in the second chapter of Acts,Peter standing up there right after the day
of Pentecost, he told them howthe men of Israel and those listening,
and the same message comes to ustoday, how we may receive this marvelous
gift, the gift of the HolySpirit, the third person of the Trinity,
(34:22):
whose office and whose work it isto take the things of Christ and
reveal them onto us. Now wefind in the New Testament, especially four
distinct gifts. I'll just name them. And then dwell upon the gifts of
the Holy Spirit. First of all, we find the gift of Christ by
(34:43):
God to the world, the giftsof Christ by God the Father to the
world in John three sixteen. I'vejust quoted it to you. That's the
greatest gift. And then we findthe gift of the Church by the Father
to Christ. Well, there inthe seventeenth chapter of John, that great
Intercessory high priestly prayer chapter, inthe sick verse, Christ speaking to the
(35:09):
Father, speaking of those that wouldbe members of his body after his death
and resurrection, speaks of those Hesays, those Thou gavest them me.
He said, Thou gavest them me. And so we have the gift of
the Church by the Father to Christ. And tonight you and I, who
(35:30):
are members of the body of Christ, who have been washed, cleansed,
regenerated, placed in that body bythe Holy Spirit, we are a gift
by the Father to Christ, who, for the joy that was set before
him, endured the cross, despitethe shape, and set his face like
(35:52):
flint towards the Cross of Calvary, because he knew that after the work and
the finished work on the Cross ofCalvary, and after his resurrection, thousands
of men and women would come andbe members of his body. And it's
a gift by the Father to Christ. And then there's another gift that's spoken
(36:15):
of in the New Testament, especiallydo I want to speak upon this tonight.
It's the gift by the believer ofhimself to God for his occupation,
use, and service. And Iam speaking and dedicating this service tonight to
the Baptist young people at Albany,Oregon and to Leonor, Idaho. And
(36:36):
I pray, and I am prayingas I'm speaking that many a young person
tonight I found this happy Christmas seasonservice may give of himself to God for
God's occupations, for God's use,and for God's service. Oh, if
I could only just talk to youtonight and tell you the great program that
(37:00):
God has for this old world andthe Gospel, which is the good news
of salvation to a dying world. That the great side of glory is to
be an ambassador for Christ to goout and beseech men and women to be
reconciled to God in Christ Jesus, and to carry the precious water of light
(37:21):
in earth and vessels. You andI, who are members of the Body
of Christ, we have this treasurein earth and vessels. And I wanna
tell you, while men may countit wonderful to be heads of great corporations
and to have thousands of men workingunder them, I wanna tell you that
the greatest business this side of gloryis to be a humble child of God
(37:44):
and ambassador carrying the good news ofsalvation. And you know, I never
speak to young people, but whatI always a quote Ephesians two ten.
For we are His workmanship or handiworkcreated in Christ Jesus, under good works,
which God asked before our danes, that we should walk therein. And
I want to tell you something.I caught this glimpse some time ago,
(38:08):
and I'll never forget the Sunday afternoonGod speaking to me personally. I saw
this that down before the foundation ofthe world, God, the Father,
God, the Son, God,the Holy Spirit, had conceived the Church
in their minds, before the foundationof the world. And he saw those
who had accept Christ, and heoutlined a program, He outlined a life.
(38:31):
He outlined that what he wanted themto do. And all the years
of my life, I can seeit as I look back, how God
hedged me in, kept me,guided me, directed me. And one
Sunday afternoon, I gave my heartto Christ. And then a little bit
later, on a December afternoon, while it was raining stormy outside, the
(38:58):
folks were away, God was dealingwith me and I made a gift to
myself to God. And I sawthen and there that God had a program,
a place for me to fit in, and he could take me off
from a ranch, a farmer's boy, and use me one of the weak
things, one of the despised things, one of this based things. If
(39:20):
you please to bring to nought thethings that are. And I am thankful
tonight that I had the courage andthe conviction just to yield my heart and
to receive the gift of the HolySpirit. And I trust to night by
the mercies of God. Some ofyou young people in radio land will present
your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, which is your reasonable
(39:44):
service, that you might know Hisgood and acceptable and perfect will, all
the joy of being in the centerof His will. And I'm glad tonight
that God has called me out ofbusiness. Yes, many a trial,
many a fiery furnest experience, butI'll tell you deep down in my heart
tonight, there never was a timeof such joy and peace as there is
(40:07):
tonight to know that I'm in thecenter of His will, that all things
work together for good because I loveHim. And I am just praying tonight
that you may make a gift ofyourself to God for his occupation, for
his use, and for his servants. Second Corinthians eight five tells us how
they first gave themselves to the Lord. That's what God wants you to do
(40:28):
tonight. And the money questioned envy, all the needs that you need for
your life, and all the thingsfor time and eternity will take care of
themselves if you'll give yourself first toGod, where God says, seek you
first the Kingdom of God, andall these things will be added under you.
But tonight I want to speak ofthe gift of the Holy Spirit,
(40:49):
the gift of the Holy Spirit. Now, Christ speaking to his disciples at
the Last Supper, he said,I'm going away, And when I go,
hey, he said, I'm goingto send you another comforter, one
who will take my place. Aswe look back over the life of Christ,
and how he suffered the little childrento come under him, how he
(41:13):
was touched with the feeling it ofpeople's infirmity, how he bear their sicknesses
and their grease and their sorrows, how he wept with the grave of lazard.
Why we get a picture of whatthe Holy Spirit, the third person
of the Trinity is and we findin reference to this gift that it was
a promised gift for God speaking thereare Christ speaking in John fourteen sixteen,
(41:36):
he said, if I go notaway, the Holy Spirit, the comforter
will not come. But if Igo away, I will send him.
And we find that he was promiseda gift to the church, and that
the Holy Spirit is here tonight. You and I do not have to pray
for the Holy Spirit to come down. He's here in the world. And
we find the moments that we cometo the Word and believe the Word,
(42:01):
that the Holy Spirit, the breathof God, the wind listing where it
will sweeps over our souls, andwe are pointed to the lamb of God,
which taken away the sin of theworld, and we find our wonderful
refuge in Christ. The Holy Spirit'sworks. We find that he was promised.
And then in the second chapter ofActs, we find that he was
(42:23):
powerful. He came as a wind, a mighty rushing wind, and as
a fire. And when I stoppedto think of him coming as a wind
rushing thereupon the waiting disciple, I'mreminded of a scene back in the Garden
of Eden. Where fresh from thecreative hands we find Adam fashion out of
(42:49):
the dust of the ground. HowGod, Jehovah, the covenant keeping God,
stooped over and breathes into Adam thebreath of life, the living breadth,
and Adam became a living soul. That's typical of the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Spirit's work to bring uslight and to ply us to the source
(43:10):
of light. He's powerful. Andthen at the Red Sea, when the
Israelites were crossing the Red Sea,you remember speaks there, how God brought
a grown a strong east wind, and it blew all that night and beat
the waves back. That's just alittle typical picture of the power of the
(43:30):
Holy Spirit under the emblem of thewind. And so we could go out.
You take there. When Nicodemus cameto Jesus by night, Christ told
Nicodemus that the wind listed where itwill speaking of the Holy Spirit. And
tonight out over the ether waves theHoly Spirit in your home, Holy spirits
(43:52):
in the different places up in Canada, out in the mountain districts. And
if you'll just pay attention and heedto the word first of all, that
gentle breath, that powerful the windwill sweep over your soul, bringing conviction
and convincing you of righteousness, andbringing and will ultimately bring you to Christ
(44:15):
if you harden not your heart, and you take care. Upon the day
of Pentecost, Peter, that manthat was a coward, now courageous,
stands up and he tells the peopleat Pentecost about the Holy One that they
had crucified, and three thousand soulswere pricked in their conscience and in their
(44:37):
heart that day, and they wereadded unto the church, All beloved,
listen. This gift of the HolySpirit is a peculiar gift, not only
promised, not only powerful, buta peculiar gift. Some of the men
that Pentecost couldn't understand the why mulitudescould not understand what it takes. Please
(45:00):
somewhere amazed. Others make the saida moment ago, Peter that wants a
coward, now a man of courage. I want to tell you, my
friends, the moment that you receivethe gift of the Holy Spirit, he'll
take you backward, bashful, andhe'll put you forward if you honor Christ,
(45:23):
and he'll make you a firebrand togo down through the country telling the
blessed story, and he'll give yourcourage, and men's hearts will be pricked.
Why because you receive the gift ofthe Holy Spirit. And then in
this second chapter of Acts, Ihaven't time to go into a detailed exposition
(45:45):
of it, but we find it'sa poured out gift. How there Peter's
standing up it. It's recorded inthe eighteenth verse, is said, on
my servants and on my handmaidens,I will pour out in those days of
my spirit, and they shall prophesy. And there the day of Pentecost,
the Holy Spirit was poured out withoutmeasure, not just a trickling stream of
(46:13):
water, because the Holy Spirit isspoken of often under the emblem of water.
But it was poured out a mightyocean of power, a mighty ocean
of water through water, the vastdry deserts of this old Earth. And
all tonight is standing Christ is standingat the heart's door, wanting to take
(46:35):
your heart and to just pour inall the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
And I pray tonight that someone maysee the vision and obey the command of
Ephesians five eighteen, which says befilled with the Holy Spirit again, looking
through this Book of Acts, thissecond chapter, we find that this Holy
(46:59):
Spirit was a purchased gift. Itcost God something. I haven't time to
read all the verses, but ifyou'll drop them down, verses twenty two
to thirty six, you'll find thererunning through those verses is the theme of
Calvary. How wicked men took thisChrist, put him upon the cross,
(47:22):
he was slave for the sin ofthe world. And how this Jesus hath
God raised up wherewof we are allwitnesses, and God hath now placed him
upon the right hand at his throne. A purchased gift. Listen, it
cost God's heart to give his son. It cost God all that he had
(47:45):
to give his precious son for youand for me He's It's a purchased gift,
a costly gift. And listen,if I should come with you tonight,
to you tonight, whether a boxof pearls or diamonds, or a
necklace of whurl or a diamond ring, and I'd say to you that this
costs two or three thousand dollars myeye, your eyes would light up,
(48:07):
and you would consider that a wonderfulgift. But I want to tell you
there's a gift tonight that far upshines the diamonds and the rubies, and
the gold and the silver and allthe pressures. Still, that's the gift
of the Holy Spirit, one ofthe most marvelous gifts a man could have
(48:28):
for time and eternity. Two orthree days ago, I was elbowing my
way down through the congested shopping sectionhere in Los Angeles, and in the
whirlpool of humanity. I was sortof eddied over towards our window at one
of the great department stories, andI noticed there my rather of my attention
(48:52):
was attracted by some toys in thewindow on display. And after I looked
at the toys, I turned tosee who was near me, and I
noticed a man standing close by,who, from appearances was a hard working
man. His clothes, from appearancesat least, showed that he'd been using
(49:13):
those clothes a good many months. But he had a wonderful face. And
I noticed him, noticed him lookingat those toys, and then just a
little touch came into the scene. He reached into his pocket, pulled out
a rather dilapidated billfold, and countedover some paper money, evidently that he
(49:36):
had in his billfold, and thenI saw him put that billfold back in
his pocket, went his way downto the door and into the store to
buy a gift. Now my heartwas touched that father. I could tell
by his hands, hard working manthat he was. He stood there looking
at those gifts, and perhaps someboy or some girl, his daughter or
(50:00):
his son, he wanted to dosomething for him, and he counted the
costs, and yet he did notstop. Perhaps it represented food money,
I don't know, but he wantedto do something for his son. And
into the story he went and hebought that gift for his child. And
I'm thinking out in Radio LAMB tonight, boys and girls perhaps do not appreciate
(50:23):
sometimes what sacrifices father and mother maketo purchase gifts at this season. But
oh, I want you to thinkof the sacrifice that it cost God to
give to bring the gift of theHoly Spirit to you tonight. That's a
purchase gift. Don't turn your backupon that purchase gift. William and then
(50:46):
Acts two thirty eight tells us justin a word, how we may receive
the gift of the Holy Spirit. It comes through repentance, repentance towards God's
pre sees the rest reception of theHoly Spirit, and repentance is taking God's
side against oneself, and repentance openedthe door to the reception of the Holy
(51:08):
Spirit. Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sin,and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit. Just this little touchbefore Missus Wheler closes with a closing solo,
I want you to see that thisgift is a proclaimed gift. In
(51:29):
verses forty one to forty seven ofthat same chapter, just give you these
touches. In the forty first chapterthey confessed Christ, and the moment that
you receive the gift of the HolySpirit, you will confess Christ. And
in the forty second verse they continuedsteadfast in the truth of God and in
the doctrine. And then in theforty fifth verse they consecrated all they had
(51:52):
to the Lord, their time, their talent, their substance, and all
it possessed. And I want totell you the money question and your talent
question, we'll all take care ofitself. The moment that you receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit. Andthen in the forty seventh verse, we
find that converts were added daily tothe church, such as should be saved.
(52:14):
And I want to tell you tonight, the thing that's holding back
a revival in this America of oursis because men and women are not willing
to let the Holy Spirit have fullsway this purchased gift. And may to
night the Sunday evening prior to Christmas, when men and women are receiving gifts
by the score, may you andI receive the Holy Spirit in all of
(52:36):
his fullness, and go out andbe a fire brandt and ambassador for him.
Our father. We pray that thouwill take this message to night,
and may hundreds desire and hunger andthirst for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Or we ask it in his nameand for his seat. Amen of
