(01:15):
D podcast. Four young professionals buyyoung, Well, we're kind of professionals.
I am Alex Capps, your DMor district manager, and Today's icebreaker.
What career path would you choose ifyou could make a switch, what
up bits you boy? Marcel Hardyplaying Richard Cox the Human Consultants turned halfling
Bard who holy believes it's better tobe lucky than good, but it's best
(01:37):
to be both. And if Richardcould switch careers, he would do what
every young ish millennial would want todo, and it start a podcast.
Hello, my name is Anelin Hardy. I forgot my name for a second.
That's why I pause, and Iplay Taylor Jacobs, a centaur with
article I'm not even retaking it.If I could go and pick a different
(02:01):
career, I would go to computerscience, so then I could come up
with an idea and execute the ideaand hopefully be my own boss. I
mean, if you want to beyour own boss, you should just join
Crystal. On that note, Hieveryone, I'm Katie and I played Crystal
(02:22):
the Dradrid with her very own MLMCrystal Clarity. And I think that if
Crystal could go back in time,I think she would have chosen a semi
easier route of just being an influencerand not being an influencer slash MLM owner,
because like, all she really likesis the free stuff and the attention,
but she still loves what she does. She still loves helping people attain
(02:44):
their productive peoples. Hey, I'mMarjorie. I play Amy and Amanda,
a basic, b rough and tumblehuman fighter with a freshly minted dentistry degree.
Hands down, she would be aVET. She did her undergrad and
zoology and would continue going on withthat. But there's no way, no
way in the world. She waseven given that option, like it was
(03:06):
dentistry or nothing. Him Tyler,I played the palt and known as Bentley,
and Bentley would choose Tyler's personal dreamof being a fighter pilot. Yeah
it's too tall and was told hecouldn't do it. What Yeah, there's
a hydroch you gotta be able tofit in the cockpit. But yeah,
either either a fighter pilot or aif he was better at it, professional
(03:30):
League Legends player. That would allspeak cool. And I am Alex Capps,
your DM or District manager and asa DM. If I could choose
a different career path, it wouldhave been one of two either player characters,
so it actually enjoyed the game,or it would have been becoming a
novelist. So at least I dothe same amount of work, but I
actually make some money at it.Hey, listeners, this show is made

when we last left off, Bentleyhad turned a bunch of goblins into a
water balloon, Taylor Jacobs made abugbear shkebob let's see, and Crystal yeaded
(04:38):
some more goblins into a tree amyand choked one out. And the owner
of the house has returned. Sowe just needed to feed some vultures.
So we picked back up with Bentleylying in the grass, surrounded by death.
Is gonna burn half his movement speedto a stand dock cup look around
(05:00):
to be like that. Uh,that went both better and worse than I
expected to be, Like, ohshit, I'm sorry buddy, and he's
gonna burn all of his leon handsto heal him twenty of HP. So
Richard's just screaming, covered in blood, and he feels someone grab his ankle.
(05:20):
Stood up, Oh you're right, you're right, So he grabs you.
He just places his hand on yourhead and heals you. I was
gonna say, even if I waslaying down, could I grabbed his shoulder?
All right? Are you gonna doanything else? No? I just
stood up and I healed. Richardfeel better about myself because my uh underestimating
(05:43):
how much damage that would cause everyone? All right, speaking of Richard,
it is now your turn. Okay, Richard's gonna look around for that voice
that we just heard. So yousee a very fancily dressed woman with a
large hat carrying a basket with somekind of botanicals in it. Would you
(06:06):
happen to be Lilith? Why?Yes, I would. Who's asking?
We are in need of some help? We are, Well, my name
is Richard and these are my friendsand coworkers and acquaintances and all kinds of
things. Yeah, she says, yes, this, well at least this
(06:27):
was my house. Yeah. Howmuch of that did you see? She
says? Well, I just cameout of the thicket and saw everything going
on over here, so I guessnot much of anything. Who damaged the
wall of my house? There's thegoblins that we just stopped, and she
(06:50):
says, you mean like that oneand points at the one amy EN's holding.
Yeah, we had to keep onein life for questioning. You see
as she points a finger at itand it just like turns to dust right
there in her hands. Oh mygod. She says, he won't be
bothering anybody now, I suppose not. And she she she just casually walks
(07:13):
in between all of you, opensup her door, which is right next
to this big gaping hole, andcloses leaves the door, and she goes,
you may enter if you wish.Richard's like, I don't know,
guys, I'm kind of scared. This is what we came here for,
so in for a penny. Ifshe kills you, you can do that.
(07:38):
I don't know. Maybe I actuallydon't think I can right now?
All right, Well, after youBentley, no no no, no,
no no no. You know whatthey say, beauty before age. I
could just see you say that andlike, yeah, the three of the
(08:00):
well, Taylor and Crystal are bothlike fighting each other trying to get in
the door first Taylor. They werelike, oh, were they talking about
I thought they were talking about me? Were they talking about Taylor's gonna channel
her and her tour and be likeafter you, my lady? Oh god,
(08:24):
I don't like what this world isdoing to us. You just see
Bentley cough up blood anime style forno reason. You breathe, fine,
but just blood comes up. Man. We'll walk through the giant hole in
the wall and not the door. She turns. She says, you know,
(08:48):
it's bad luck to walk through anopening to a house and not the
doorway. I've never heard that before. Wow, is that really true?
She just said it was. She'sshe looks as she said, Well,
I wouldn't lie to you, now, would I? Well, I suppose
not. Okay, So I'll leaveand cover the door now, yeah,
(09:13):
through now? And she you seeas she's she has a small, like
a round kitchen table. She says, go ahead, have a seat.
What brings you this far out fromthe city, Well, we have hmmm.
So do you know Aiden Montiac?Oh? Yes, yes, I
(09:37):
quite quite fond of Captain Monteac.Okay, cool, would you guys would
would any of you like some tea? I'm about to pour kettle this adventure.
Richard's like, I don't think Ishould take that, but just like
sure, he'll take the because hefeels a little bit bad. Okay,
(09:58):
anyone else, Oh, thank you, ma'am, except a cup, but
he has no intention of actually drinkingof So she pours a couple of cups
of tea and hands them out.So what brings you this far out?
What? What? What are youseeking that you need? Old? Oh,
misshadow gran What does she look like, Alex? What does she look
(10:20):
like? Hat? So she's takingthe hat off because she's indoors but also
bad lu Yeah she has she hasa dark, dark, curly hair that
goes about shoulder length. She wearspretty fine what appears to be like a
(10:41):
kind of fine like almost like alittle house on the prairie style dress and
the yeah yeah her her house's cottagecore to the max, or at least
it was. Now it's kind ofruined core to the max. And you
see as she's talking, she beginswaving her fingers and you see some of
(11:03):
the stones begin going back into positionin the wall. She says, this
will take a little time to fix, but it's nothing that a special touch
can't handle. So I was thinkingof she says, I was thinking to
do an addition. Anyways, that'sgood. So we're here because there seems
(11:24):
to be somebody that is actively pretendingto be me, and there might be
really one somebody's a really good totell you, but it seems to be
just one bad thing after the next, and we're trying to figure out if
you may can help us figure outwhat to do. So you see,
when you mentioned someone impersonating you,she immediately does a one eighty, pulls
a chair up from the table, slides in with her cup of tea.
(11:45):
She says, oh, honey, dude, tell I love a good case
of drama. She wants tea,her cup is actually empty. She's waiting,
Well, you see, and like, I don't really want to do
a whole bunch of exposition, butshe basically Crystal tells her from top to
bottom exactly what's happened since they gothere from Crystal's point of view or is
(12:09):
it like the truth? I inthe same right, we would we would
all be there to like help correctif there were some like missing facts or
anything like that, so I feellike that, so are we I'm checking
out, definitely, I definitely consentsthere would be a few Taylor Jacobs,
(12:30):
Well, well, Crystal, Crystal, I'm gonna bracelet in and say,
Crystal, are you sure we would? I tell her every single thing should
or what does it hurt? Idon't know. I was just checking.
I was just checking before, youknow, like, let's not tell her
we're gonna kill Crystal. Just oh, well, that hasn't happened yet,
(12:54):
So I was just telling you whathappened, okay, or we could and
ask for killing thing. Continue sheleans, and she says, well,
it sounds to me like there's afew different things you could be ailing from,
Darling, starting from the top.It could be someone using illusion magic.
But this seems pretty convincing for somany. I have a hard time
(13:18):
believing just a simple little magic trickwould be causing all this grief. Uh,
perhaps it's something a bit more solid, hmm, She says, honey,
let me see your hands, acrystal like uncomfortably handsome you see,
(13:39):
as she begins drawing her unnaturally longfingers along your palm and in your ear
of your hand, and along yourfingers and almost like she's tracing lines out
and trying to read some indecipherable language, and she says, throw up from
some weird person's long finger. Sechuh, No, she just doesn't.
(14:05):
It's a thing. It's like ayeah. Yeah. But her hands are
like, oh she is unnaturally cold. Yeah, yep. Chrystal is definitely
trying not to gag. She says, you are quite peculiar. These hands
don't belong to you. That's whatwe're saying you. Your your soul has
(14:35):
not always inhabited this form, hasit. No, No, it hasn't.
I used to look pretty normal,in fact, pretty pretty human,
even might say so interesting. Thelot of you are interesting. She looks
at Taylor Jacobs and she goes, hmm. You you are are also quite
(15:00):
unique, aren't you. Do youwant to see my ass? She said,
Honey, if I had a nickelfor every time I had heard that.
Go ahead anyway, So you turninto the centaur, you turn into
(15:20):
centaur mode, yeah, and thengo back. Wow, Now that is
some strong magic coming off of you. What about And she turns and she
looks at Richard and she goes,hm hmm, not about half the man
you used to be exactly. Oh. She looks and she sees Bentley,
(15:46):
and she goes, and you like, you like hiding behind that big suit
of armor, don't you. Imean it's pretty comfortable. I'm not gonna
lie. Mm hmm. Interesting. She sits there for a minute, and
she goes, you came here tofor me to use my arts to inquire
(16:07):
for you, didn't you? Youwant to know more about this person causing
you all these problems. Yes,that is what I've been saying this whole
thing. She says. Well,I'll do this for you, she said,
but you must know it comes ata price, of course. What's
(16:30):
your what's your price? Oh it'snot for me, honey. But sometimes
knowing the truth is its own formof payment, because once you know the
truth, you can't go back. Are you sure you want to know?
Like go back home? Or no, you can't go back to your blissful
(16:55):
ignorance. This hasn't been very blissful. So I think I'm okay. You
can suit yourself. You see ifshe pulls out a dusty old box of
cards and shuffling them up, andshe says, lay your hands on the
table, face down. Oh,just to be clear, am, what
what is the cost, Penny Pincher, Amien, there's no material cost.
(17:19):
It is purely verbal and somatic.Okay, okay, so there's not We're
not gonna, like, you know, lose part of our souls or anything
like that. Oh heavens, no, I'm not some kind of fiend or
hag or something of that nature.Okay, Oh well, I'm sorry if
I have been. I was justcurious. If you are too concerned,
why don't you ask him? Andshe points at Bentley what I mean?
(17:42):
I guess I could do that andrealize, Bentley, what are you talking
about? You mean you can likedetermine if they're bad guys or good guys
around No, I can determine.I don't know why you been doing this
the whole time I have been. When you, when you cast your divine
(18:10):
sense, you would pick up thatshe is Faye faye. Okay, yeah,
I know she's all right. Iguess maybe it depends on the nature
of the thing. And so shebegins dealing cards face down. She turns
to Crystal one last time. Shesays, once again, you are sure
(18:33):
you want to know? Right? Is this like a deck of many things?
It is not a Deck of ManyThings. I thought about I thought
about pulling out the Deck of ManyThings, but there are way too many
things in that that would completely derailour campaign entirely. Be careful what you
(18:56):
wish for. She begins flipping overcards. Crystal, it's one of my
favorite points. And as she asshe hovers her hands over the face down
cards, she says, now allof you, come closer and let me
peer into the tangled threads of yourfates. Let's see. And she said,
(19:18):
you do like sare is this gonnabe like a set in stone type
thing? Like? Is there anywiggle room? She says, Honey,
the future is always in flux. There is nothing set in stone except for
taxes. Taxes, those are thoseare pretty well set in stone. You
can't avoid those. They will comeafter you this world or the next.
(19:42):
I get this is the joker notwanting to fuck with the I R s.
Fine, yeah, that man,nothing but the I R s.
You don't mess with them. Uh, she says. Okay, your future,
I sense a tapestry. I seethreads of hope and despair. Okay,
(20:07):
beware the path ahead, for itwas fraught with peril and hidden foes.
Trust not in what you can see, but in what lies beneath this
card. And she flips over acard that looks like a judge speaks of
a trial yet to come, ofbattles fought and destinies entwined. Taylor's taking
(20:30):
notes, by the way, sowe have a record of what exactly.
She said, Let's see a veilof lies draped upon the truth. Someone
wears the face of another, ashadow hiding in plain sight, a charad
woven into the fabric of destiny.Hm. She looks, and she says,
(20:56):
two faces, one soul. Adoppel gango wa among you. You
have caught the eye of a changeling. Two faces, one soul. Mm
hmm, what does that mean?Like it's one person, that's you,
(21:18):
Crystal? Right? Did you justhave because you had your original face and
now you have your new face, but you have the same soul, So
it's like same soul, two faces. Honey, I think you guys stopped
listening. She said, I don'tknow what a changeling is, but she
said, you caught the attention ofone of those things. Maybe that's the
(21:41):
two faces. Maybe? So haveyou ever worn a mask before, Miss
Crystal? Like to a party, any occasion could count. Yes, well,
you know as well as I do. A mask may hide the face,
(22:03):
but it cannot conceal the essence within. The truth rises to the surface
like a small stone cast into stillwater. Wouldn't they sink if they're really
little? No, I'm skidding. What big teeth you have, Grandma?
Yeah no, she says, youneed to find some way to get this
(22:27):
impostor to reveal their true colors.Oh so, just like what Richard said
earlier, we just we just lether go down with the other sinking ship.
What are you talking about, Richard? Why didn't you explain your plan?
(22:48):
And Richard explains the plan. Shehears the plan and says that might
work. The real secret with achangelain is that you really have to get
it Anger. I feel like puttingeverybody that like is owed something like I
(23:11):
feel like turning their attention towards herwould really piss her off. It could
potentially, But what I'm telling you, Darling, is that you gotta get
them. You got to get themunfocused, You got to get them.
They can't maintain their form once youdo. Or if you could find some
way to expose them for what theytruly are no need to take this offline.
(23:34):
Overworked and underplayed will circle back afterthese messages, whether it's a mark,
a sound, a memory, somethingthat they don't know. What about
the ring toe on your phone? No, one's probably called it? What's
a phone? Yes? Is thatthat weird brick thing that she was talking
(24:03):
into when I peered into her fate? Yeah? Why would you talk into
a brick? I'm confused because otherpeople are talking back to you. So
you hear people talking through a brick, It's like, uh, Bentley,
remember something you read in the library. It's like a s oh okay.
(24:26):
So she's acting so sorry. She'sacting like she's never she's upset about someone
talking into a brick, But astone is totally fun. Two different things
to different two different firm objects aboutit cool. How else would we make
her angry enough to lose her cool? Well, Changelings change links, don't
(24:51):
fit in anywhere in most societies,so they adapt their form so that they
they do, they find a placefor themselves. Once you expose them,
they become vulnerable and it makes themunable to retain their form and show the
true colors you. It really isgetting them off their game, so to
(25:14):
speak. So do we need tofigure out who they were before they took
my identity? That could help?Okay, I wouldn't know where to begin
with that. I kind of justwant to piss her off. It seems
like the easiest way to go.Oh yeah, Crystal wants to piss someone
off. Yeah, like digging upsome dirt on her past? Go full
(25:41):
tmz you could. It just meanswe have to figure out where she came
from the problem. There's a lotof information we don't know to get two.
She says, Well, since therest of you here, is anybody
else wanting their fortune? Yeah?Yes, we'd love to we'd love to
(26:04):
know. Okay, well, who'snext? Past futures? It's all the
same time is a circle? Maybeshe can help you uncover some hidden family
memories. Amen. Oh that's agood point. Okay ooh about the seekers?
M yeah, I guess yeah.Just can I get like a blanket
(26:29):
reading? Is that? Okay? You prefer down? She says, uh,
that's good. Wow, that onetook me a second. That was
pretty good. All right, Soshe says, okay, you said,
miss Amanda, could you place yourhands on the table as your friend did
(26:52):
before, Yes, ma'am, andshe begins placing the cards down. She
says, hmm. Interesting. Youreyes may deceive, but your heart knows
the truth. There is a personyou're trying to discover the identity of,
(27:18):
but you don't even realize you alreadyknow. Hmm. Anything more specific than
that, it appears that your friendlies close to your family's heart. Huh.
(27:40):
How would I so in your inyour years of experience, ma'am?
How would I go about determining, like if he's related to me or not?
Do you guys have like genetic testshere? She says, no,
but I have an idea now thisone. It's not risky, but there's
a high chance of failure. Doyou wish to proceed your brain? It
(28:03):
appears your mind is blocking something fromyour from being able to be seen it
really okay? Is it like atraumatic response or something like one time I
watched a really scary movie and thenI couldn't remember it because it was too
scary. Potentially, Okay, Sowhat I want you to do, amyen?
(28:26):
Uh? Huh. So I'm justgonna let y'all know you have three
good omens and two bad omens.I need you to make me a history
check to see if this is gonnawork? Now, would you like to
spend a good Omen? Can?I can I roll it first to see
you know what? Yeah, I'lllet you roll first, but I can't.
(28:48):
I'm not gonna tell you whether yousucceed or fail, right right right?
Yeah, that's why we usually playedit though, isn't it? Yeah,
you roll it and then okay, okay, and you say it was
history. Yeah, ok let's see. Yes, I would like a good
OMEN please? All right? What'syour history modifier? Negative one? You
(29:10):
roll? So with your negative one? Uh, and spending the good OMEN.
But I have a plus two tokento add to any D twenty row.
Okay, so do you want todo you want? Do you want
to add that? Okay? So, so with your minus one and your
plus two that would give you aplus one. You got a twenty one.
(29:34):
Yay, it rolled to twenty andshe she's like, place your hands
in mind and we'll see if wecan unlock this memory. Oh no,
okay, and what you you feel? This weird surge come over you and
you see a flash of images. You see your grandfather, your father,
(29:56):
and your uncle. I'll argue aboutsomething, uh, huh. Then you
see your father and your uncle arguingat your grandfather's funeral. Okay, And
then you remember the last family reunionthat you guys had up on the Great
(30:22):
Lakes. Your grand or your unclewas not there and no one knew where
he was. And that was howlong ago? That was like fifteen years
ago. Spoiler alert, Your dad'sa murderer killed your uncle. That's not
(30:49):
dark enough. Her father is heruncle. Oh it takes place at Georgia,
Mississippi. Okay, Okay, there'sother ways for that to happen.
But sure in my memories, doI clearly see what my uncle looks like?
(31:12):
Yes, does he look like Dirtierian? Well, he wasn't wearing a
mask, so build coloring. Youknow his teeth, his teeth? Would
I recognize his teeth? I don'tknow that you've gotten close enough to doctor
(31:32):
D But what I would say, what I would say is now that you've
you remember this, that you couldpossibly make an identification in the future.
M Okay, I wouldn't say, because we did examine teeth the first time
we met him, Like we satin that ride for a really long time,
(31:55):
like you know what. Okay,Then do this, okay, to
make a We're gonna do this.I'm gonna spend one of your bad omens,
okay, arguing, I'm gonna spendone of the bad omens, and
I want you to roll a insightcheck with disadvantage to see if you can
(32:15):
recall enough information about his teeth fromlike weeks ago. Okay, it's not
good, it's like five. I'llput it this way. You've seen enough
now that you would you would knowwhat to look for now, if that
makes sense, Is there anything thatwould prevent me from being like, oh,
he's my uncle? I mean Iwould say there's probably an equal amount
(32:43):
of stuff that would prevent or notprevent you from saying that right now.
I mean, he could be youruncle, he could be Richard's uncle,
he could be anybody's uncle. Butyou are finding it weird that you asked
about him and you saw images ofyour family. Yeah, okay, okay,
So is that the risky thing thatyou're talking about? Oh? Yeah,
(33:04):
now you know now there's things thatyou may know. Okay, before,
was there any other like uh memories? Oh I'm sorry. The risky
part was that it might not work. Oh, it wasn't like you you
were going to like lose half yourmemories. No, it was it was
that you may not see anything.Oh, oh, okay, And what
(33:25):
was my uncle's name? That Iwould absolutely know this already. So your
uncle is named Adrian Austin, Amandatrue boy, Austin's Oh that's the secret
hidden family. He's my dad's brother. Yes, okay, and his son
(33:53):
that is the candy and soda distributor. Oh, Adrian's son is the bad
one. Yeah, he's the one. Yeah, he's the black sheep of
the family because he works for thesugar industry. It sounds like the perfect
yeah right, mm hmmm, allright. Does anybody else want their fortune?
(34:20):
She she begins turning your cards over, and she says, oh,
honey, she said, I seea lie filled with sadness. She says,
unless you discover your true calling. What is that? Oh, that's
(34:45):
for you, that's for you tofigure out. It's computer science. She's
like, She's like, I'm goingback to school as soon as we get
back. Student ones be damned.Do you have any ideas? She says,
No, I'm not here. I'mnot necessarily here to give you a
direct answer. I'm here to helpyou find your answer. I'm just gonna
(35:12):
be sad unless you change your path. Make yourself happy for once instead of
trying to make everyone else happy. That's really hard. Okay, that helps.
She turns, She goes, Who'snext? Got the twitterion? Richard's
(35:38):
like, I'm good. The onlything I care about right now is that's
getting home. And I don't needto know if that works or doesn't work,
like I have to believe that it'sgoing to. Yeah, and the
words is Doc Brown. Knowing toomuch about your future could be a bad
thing. So good, she says, Well, do any of you want
to help me fix this wall youdemolished? Absolutely happy to help. Also
(36:00):
who demolished? She turns and shelooks directly at Bentley. She saw the
past or whatever your thoughts betrayed you. That's funny. She got it confirmed
three times. She got a reallygood view when she looked at crystals.
(36:27):
She's not all that's sweaty. Yeah, the wall that Taylor Jacobs demolished.
Yeah, and she says, y'allgo on ahead and work on those bricks
and I'll see about whipping up somedinner for everybody's after you work up that
sweat. Oh, good. Thankyou. Yeah, yeah, I guess
(36:54):
we're I guess we're brick workers though. Yeah, oh my goodness. She
as you're all working through the afternoon, you might quick work of it.
There's a little bit of she addsa little bit of magic to kind of
help things move along. But whenyou're all done, she brings out a
cauldron of rabbit stew. Damn nochicken fried steak. I'm disappointed. Well,
(37:21):
that would require gravy, which isa kind of sauce, and as
were determined, only the cult communismhas a sauce. Yeah, the one
y'all destroyed. We ruined this world'sonly chance of a good time. And
(37:44):
so unless you guys have anything elseyou want to try to get from her,
you can head back to the city, or what do you do next?
Okay, so amy An would liketo kind of catch her and talk
to her like privately, okay,uh so away from everybody else. And
she said, she says, thankyou thank you so much for that that
(38:07):
that. Uh, I guess pastreading, I was wondering if if you
had any like maybe words of wordsof wisdom for me, because I've really
been going through a tough time withit. With all of these zi,
you know, these challenges. I'mreally not feeling like myself. But unlike
the most of the other gang here, I don't really look any different from
(38:27):
when we were, you know, from home to hear So, I don't
know. Do you have any anythingyou can, like, advice you can
give me? She leans in anduh she motions for you to come over
to the back corner of the cottage. Uh huh. She looks at you,
and she says, the little onethere, Richard, mm hmm,
(38:51):
keep your eye on him. Ohokay. I mean he does get lost
pretty easily in crowds because he's soshort. So he will face a tough
decision soon, okay, and hewill need those there to make sure he
makes the right choice. Okay, what is the Can you be more specific?
(39:14):
Like? Is it? Is itlike a good choice? Bad choice
one way or the other? Right? Left, up, down? Honey?
There are even rules to what I'mallowed to say, Oh, like
grammar rules or sure we'll go withthat, something like grammar rules. Okay,
(39:37):
Well, thank you, You're welcome. Finish not cryptic at all?
Right, So Bentley, are yougoing to try to summon the mighty Toyota
(39:57):
Tacoma again to take y'all back tothe city. No offence, But I'm
driving. Doesn't work that way.I guess I'm walking then, So technically
speaking, she could drive it,Bentley. It's just she doesn't get double
the vehicle proficiency bonus. Yeah,I'm good driving. I drive over here.
(40:22):
Fine. I don't know what youcall that. I killed like a
bunch of goblins in one go.It's a win win. Remember when you
also almost killed Richard and all ofus made us do like five hours worth
of work putting the wall back together. I remember that. That's all you
want on it. Don't presume toknow what I want, Bentley. It
(40:46):
was a pretty good stew. Okay, so we'll just bicker the entire time.
Everyone wear your seat belt. Everyonewear your seatbelts. Okay. I'm
(41:14):
just imagining like like Amy Ann's onone side, Taylor Jacobs on the other,
and Crystals just kind of stuffed inthe middle seat, like yeah,
you know, the small but hasto go in the middle. So makes
sense. So it should be Richard, That's what I'm hearing. Shotgun.
He's permanent shotgun. Actually, itwould be pretty funny if y'all got a
(41:35):
booster seat made for you know,in the in the get into the middle
row when we get back into town. Yeah, I really will, especially
with the developing So what what arewe talking about? Does anybody want to
talk about anything on the way there? If not, I have some stuff
so tell us. Oh okay,so I'm gonna do the exhibition dump to
(42:06):
them about my memories about my familyand how I'm pretty sure now that dark
Arian is probably related, but Idon't know, there's something weird, maybe
got corrupted somehow, something like that. And then also I'll tell Richard like
I'll lean over, hey, Richard. She also said she also told me
(42:27):
some like ominous stuff about you,So maybe we should talk about it later.
But I just just so you know, we're here to help, We're
here to support each other. Okay, okay, cool. I guess I
don't know what that means. Butdon't you guys, And then Richards say
this to the group as a whole. Don't you guys find it weird that
every time we talk to people, they either tell us something we already know
(42:47):
or it's some weird, vague thingthat we can't do anything with. Yeah,
yeah, that is frustrating. Ireally a witch it would help us,
But I mean, you're we reallywere banking on that which idea to
get in, but it was agood idea. I still think that maybe
maybe there's more than one, whichyeah, maybe I'm gonna say with the
(43:12):
amount of time that's that's happened, you guys are either gonna have to do
a push to make it back tothe city and you're gonna have to push
to make it back to the citybefore you'd have to make a constitution save,
or you're gonna have to make campfor the night. Oh, I
(43:32):
guess we'll make camp for the nightin. Yeah. I mean it can't
be that far, right, Iknow it took you like an hour and
a half to get here. Yeah, but you know better you may as
well camp in. I mean, the things capable of it. I totally
don't just want to test it outor anything. But you don't want to
(43:52):
test out those awesome lights I sawon the top end in the front,
like we could be driving around itto be bright as day outside. He's
right, get the right buttons. We're driving through the night, so you're
trying to push on to get totown before the adventuring days over. Yeah,
okay the rest of the back andI'm sure that won't go poorly.
(44:17):
There are certain responsibilities, right,So Tyler, I'm gonna need I'm sorry,
Bentley, I'm gonna need you tomake me a vehicle handling check.
Literally, the only thing I rolledgood at is these vehicle handling fifteen plus
seven, so that is twenty two. Okay, yeah, you uh,
you managed to get the vehicle backto the city without a problem. Some
(44:37):
of the people are starting to dozeoff in the back seat and you're just
kind of cruising along. One thingI will say is that the vehicle comes
equipped with road road trip tunes,so whatever there's like, uh, it
literally only plays the Flesh God.Okay, but I met your mother?
(44:58):
Yeah, oh lord, No oneelse but Tyler could consent to that.
All right. It's so, youguys make it more than one song.
Yeah, they well they have morethan one song. They just all sound
(45:20):
the same. So, uh,you guys make it back to the crow's
nest. And I would say,I think it'd be really funny if Bentley's
truck had a clicker and whenever hedismissed the spell, it was like it
was locking the doors or something. But anyways, you guys make it,
make it back and Aiden Montyak isstill sleep but one of the other workers
(45:47):
comes up and he says, missCrystal, this letter arrived for you.
It looks official. Oh good, and you see a summons from the Lord
Protector of Levern stating that he wasable to get your case moved from the
(46:07):
courts to the Arbitorious Supreme. Itwould be a binding arbitration between you and
one High Priestess Crystal of the Churchof Clarity. Okay, well that's something.
It looks like. It looks likemaybe the Lord Protectors making good on
(46:30):
his premises. We get this everybody, Yeah, and it is scheduled for
three days from today. Cool.Well, all right, you'll startpping,
so you guys turn in for thenight. You feel a weird sort of
comfort come over you because you actuallyfeel like you're starting to accomplish a few
of the like you're getting closer tosome of your your goals. And as
(46:52):
you drift off to sleep, Crystal, you begin to have a weird dream.
You see a meadow with a bubblingbrook and you see a person knelt
down near the stream. They glanceout over the water and you see this
almost non descript face as they takea sip from the creek, and is
(47:13):
about that time loud thuds begin toland all around them as they look up
and see this giant purple swirl inthe sky, and then they get hit
on the head by this familiar lookingrectangular object that you recognize as your cell
phone. You see this non descriptperson holding your cell phone and looking at
(47:36):
boxes of merchandise labeled Crystal Clarity, and you hear her say that'll do a
(48:06):
